|| HC - Hunting (Clorinde) ||
Tumblr media
Before the increased influx of Melusine officials joining their ranks, the Marechaussee Phantom was largely established by humans united under the common goal of keeping Fontaine safe.
Many in Clorinde's family held ties to these special detective forces; specifically with tracking down wanted criminals. Given their longstanding cooperation, they have cemented themselves in its foundation history. Hence, it is not a stretch for someone like Clorinde to be seen as a successor to the Marechaussee Hunters of old.
From a young age, she inherited their teachings and techniques. Her skills in hunting, tracking and combat are honed through strict training regiments. What little of her down time is reserved for interacting with children her age, whose parents also happen to be working in investigation, community outreach or legal fields (eg: Navia).
Much of her training is focused on disarming and incapicitating others; On hunting. She knows exactly when, where and how to strike. She knows what it takes to outpace her opponents. She knows when to overwhelm them. She knows how to go in for the kill. She just chooses not to at every turn, as frequently as she can.
Clorinde doesn't hunt animals.
She hunts people.

So if Azula started using Zuko as a scapegoat after she began suspecting that the avatar might be alive (meaning she brought Zuko home solely because she cared about him) do you think that means she wouldn't have brought him home as a hero, but rather as a prisoner, had she known from the get go that the avatar had survived? Cuz much as she cares about Zuko and wants him on her side, she can't afford to risk too much for him to her own detriment, being brought up in the competitive environment in an abusive household where she might get disowned and all.
I think if she had known that the Avatar had survived, she probably would have resumed pursuing the Gaang(while Aang is still wounded and incapicitated) as soon as possible with Mai and Ty Lee, and she would have likely dragged Zuko along with her. She would send Iroh back as a prisoner and send home news that there was a potential attack during the Day of Black Sun, but there are massive advantages to beginning pursuit of the Avatar immediately, so I don't think she would go home at all.
Aang is a threat to Fire Nation national security, and of course killing or capturing him is a good way to earn Ozai's approval. It's worth noting that Azula probably spent more time in Book 3 pursuing the Avatar than any other objective.
I think Azula was genuine in her comments that she felt that Zuko had proven himself, so I don't think she would want to betray him if she could avoid it. Ozai is far away and Zuko is close by, and I think that made Azula more willing to twist Ozai's orders in Zuko's favor. Azula could emphasize Zuko's role in the conquest of Ba Sing Se and the capture of Iroh to justify giving Zuko a second chance. And if Zuko ended up playing a role in capturing or killing Aang, it would be easy for Azula to argue that he deserved to be let back into Ozai's favor.
Of course, there's no telling how Ozai would react to Azula "pardoning" Zuko on her own initiative and running off with him to pursue the Avatar. He might react by exiling Azula and her friends for their subversion of his will, or declaring all four fire teens outlaws and fugitives.

after the break hopes/predictions
yamato and carrot join the crew
yamato feels almost confirmed at this point like he is joining
i want carrot to join too because itd feel satisfying to her character imo
she inherited pedros will (sail with the crew of the pirate king) and has a desire to see the world, meaning id find it weird for her to go back to zou, and the idea that she'd join the fleet just... doesnt make any sense? what ship? what crew? and carrot isnt really captain material in my eyes
itd also fit the idea that only non-humans are joining in the new world
an arc where the monster trio are captured/incapicitated
i want chopper and franky in particular to get a more focused arc
and the new crewmate(s) will need a bit of focus as well
i think this would work really well in a vegapunk focused arc with all his machines and stuff
otherwise it could be that ryokugyu captures them although im not sure how exactly i feel about that
anyway theyve had so much spotlight recently between wci for sanji and wano for zoro and yknow. luffy is the main charatcer (and got a big spotlight in wano especially with g5 and stuff)
im already confident usopp and robin have some fairly major stuff still to do (elbaph and the road poneglyphs) and i feel like franky and chopper have just never had a time to shine (maybe partly bc chopper's not really a fighter)
nami also deserves something but i think with her being the navigator laughtale is gonna have her be fairly significant (also jimbei)
also yamato and carrot had better get spotlight as well but idk where (they both have cool furry forms tho and im sure theyll get some good fights. fingers crossed)
i have no fucking idea what to say for brook other than itd be cool if he got focus as well ig
mmmmm what else
confrontation between jimbei and fujitora i just feel like theyre meant to parallel each other with their dedication to peace
sabo is in a similar postion to ace (THERE IS A REASON NEW MARINEFORD IS IN THE NEW WORLD) and this time luffy will SUCCEED
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i think thats it for now
i hope yamato is like. somewhat important

The Journey with a Vampire Hunter
Part 3: Time to Live
(©️ownership Michi Tala)
Tumblr media
August 4th~12090 AD.
This is the second day of the sandstorm that rages. Sadly fell asleep guarding Spade. I was upset until D told me something:
"You accomplished a lot while I had to be away. That my light sleep is good for a beginner. The cyborg horse is looking better too."
"His name is Spade, like black as the ace of Spades.."
It was the first time I heard laughter. It was baritone yet soft in voice and warm. I guess I can get him to laugh.
D checked the rock indentation with Lefty in which the two mumbled some about a deeply buried Noble castle. I had my suspicions of the same. I want to leave as soon as possible from the sandstorm. There is an uneasy feeling in this place.
August 6th~12090 AD.
I am in dire straits currently. I think today is the 6th but in the darkness there isn't a sun to determine days. The everyday quandary of going to the 'bathroom' has proven to get me into Nobility trouble. With no sign of letting up, the sandstorm continued and so feeling myself around the large black stone, I somehow activated a door to the inside.
With a rude sensation of falling, I landed on a platform I couldn't see and was lowered to the floor like a wall-less elevator. I am 'fortunate ' I suppose as the bodies of others litter the floor. They are in twisted body positions and as if in a state of frozen decay. It makes my skin crawl.
I know it sounds really strange but I have taken my pack when having to venture out of the small sanctuary carved in odd black stone. I can't see in the dark like D so I must bring the electronic lamp out for me to see. There are grotesque images carved into the pitch black walls. It shows scenes of faces twisted in pain and horror. These faces are distorted.
I try not to touch any surfaces but this is like a maze of darkness. I catch myself reaching to touch the wall and have to stop. My ring is turned to be palm side in. When first getting my bearings, hidden scanners began trying to activate. It's definitely the ring, meant to unlock doors and such in this 'abandoned' Noble castle.
Should have I stayed where I fell?
No. There is a certain feeling of urgency that I must stay moving. The clangs of metal and banging sounds on stone. For all I know Noble monsters lurk in sections of the castle. Besides my pack bag, I do have my weapons. The desert storm has me paranoid of an ambush. Yet it seems my paranoia served me well.
I am as prepared as possible for hidden impossibilities.
August 8th~12090 AD.
I have finally found a spot to 'hunker' down in this massive complex. This is not a castle but an elaborate Noble research and experimental laboratory. So far the location I am at was used for human containment so well preserved food is available along with a bathroom and shower. I am to the point of just not worrying about traps. You can only live in fear of this Noble place so long and then it will incapicitate you or you would take your chances to having your life at the moment, as best you can.
Once more, perhaps it is my Noble given ring but traps and doors to dangerous beings stay locked. Why did Voslak give me this ring? It is as if the Noble had something planned far ahead of me being captured by him.
I gotta get out of here!
I don't know why D has not found me? Or did he think.I was killed in the storm and my body is buried in the sand? He has probably moved on. The Vampire Hunter owed me nothing and I owe him everything. I am here and D isn't.
What would he do in my place?
Tomorrow I will keep exploring and try to find a way out but with no horse. Maybe it would be better, if this place is safe enough, I will have to settle for this. I would be alone in the Capitol as a scholar in a huge library and I doubt it would be this well stocked with books, as a Noble fortification.
So I guess this is my new home now. Maybe I can find a small, nice monster for company...
August 9th~12090 AD.
I have discovered a Noble bedroom with a small library. This seems to be a safe location for now. I am lucky. I have acquired a new friend. It's a strange, black as a moonless night puppy I found in cryofreeze. It was simple enough to figure out how to release him.
So his name is Baskerville though he is far from a hellhound. He fits my traveler's coat in the largest pocket. Only thing different from a normal dog is he has five eyes that are red, two on each side and one in the middle. That one never seems to close even while Baskerville is asleep.
As to who created this place or a Noble that owns it. I can't find the information. There is an old painting in which the man has a very strong resemblance to D. I think it is quite possibly the Sacred Ancestor.
Have I fallen into one of the experimental labs? More I see of this place the more I think that can be the only possible answer.
August 10th~12090 AD.
There is no doubt this is actually an experimental facility. The library is none other than part of Sacred Ancestor's residence in this complex. I haven't slept so well since I was a little girl.
Sacred Ancestor has the facility well stocked for, perhaps a human population of servants besides as food. Perhaps the ring designates me as a servant and not an escaped food source. Strangely the Ancestor has a closet that contains clothes that fit me and they are not dresses. These new clothes would get me through the desert.
I have also seen what is in D's saddle bags and pack. I am filling and packing my bag similarly. I found things like a Nobility blanket and a pair of slim stiletto long knives. I pack them on my lower back. I am wanting to find a way out so all my worldly possessions go with me every time.
Baskerville is proving to be difficult and refuses any food I offer him. I will need to go back to the chamber I found him and check once more. Other than that, he's healthy and active but prefers to sleep on and fusses if I try to leave him behind. I am not sure how he would manage but he's very protective. He growls at doors that he thinks have something bad locked up in the room.
So I have two goals now: one is to learn more about Sacred Ancestor and two, find a mode of transportation with an exit from this place.
August 11th~12090 AD.
I found a horse! Extra pimped out as they said long ago. It too was in a status of suspended animation. There are all the supplies I need to finish my crossing or at least a better chance. I am far from knowledgeable and trained to handle such feats through the Sighing Desert.
I will keep looking for an exit but I think my new horse needs to get used to being on its feet again. I hope my new horse isn't too out of shape muscle wise.
There also was a journal book on what Sacred Ancestor was attempting to do. The computer terminals work too, so I have been reading all I can. It's almost creepy how I can just get around easily by memories, considering the lights are dim like at twilight time. I will rest now and do a crunch on information. I found a palm sized computer so I will try to download all the information I can.
I miss D terribly but understand that he had to leave me behind. If I escape this place, I am going to try my hand at monster hunting. You know start with Nobility monsters and then move up the chain to Werewolves and finally vampires. I have been working with knives and my long sword. There is a training room and the computer studies that critique your form then adds more advanced versions of a simple maneuver.
I seem to be improving rapidly, so may a fair enough hunter? Wonder what D would think? Would I maybe impress him, even though I could never match his ability, in my short life span.
August 12th~12090 AD.
It seems Baskerville is more than he seems a multi eyed black fur ball. He morphs his size and I suspect he has a poisonous mouth, though I have not been poisoned. Perhaps it's semi controllable and is released when attacking. The size changing hellhound was my savior today. A Flesh golem tore down the doors to its prison and was wandering the halls.
It was disconcerting how its flesh ujulated as if at some point the mix match of flesh and muscle was trying to rip apart. Before I met D, I would have been frozen in fear. I was scared but able to defend myself.
The building seems to become more alive, as if someone has arrived or activated portions of the facility. Perhaps an intruder?
No matter what Basker and I have to get the fuck out of here!
August 13~12090 AD.
I thought my human eyes had failed me! I found my Vampire Hunter! D! His eyes flared red for a moment and picked up his step. It seems he is happy to see me too.
"You have grown much in skill to survive so long in the place," he wraps an arm around as Lefty gets stuck with the rein to the horse.
I looked up at him (he is 6'3") and chuckled while showing the ring to. "You think too highly of my skill. It is merely this ring Voslak put on my hand and the facility thought I was a human servant is all."
Before D could answer, Lefty did with a wolf whistle,"Nobility 'bride to be' is what that piece of jewelry says, sweet cheeks."
"A Noble's future bride?" You sputter out. "Who? Why? How come?"
"Ha ha! She's in Sacred Ancestor's laboratory and still asks,"Lefty cackles in laughter.
"Well you stupid carbuncle demon! Of course I know where I am! I was sleeping on his fucking bed, wearing clothes from his closet and reading in his personal library!" You tsk him loudly.
"Aaah..." the demon's mouth is a gap. "I have no words to say to that bit of information."
"Huh! Teach you Lefty," as you pull out your pocket computer and an old leather bound journal. "Been busy researching the history of Vampires and one in particular...Sacred Ancestor."
"Aaah...been bested by a newly taught Hunter it seems," Lefty then disappears into D's left hand once more.
"(Y/n) this new found knowledge puts you in peril even more now," D pauses in mid-sentence. "The way out is ahead of us."
"Oh that's great news D! I have prepared my pack and my horse Starfire," you grin. "And my new companion...Baby Baskerville the Hellhound."
D raises his dark brown, almost black haired eyebrows. "That is not any ordinary hellhound but one of my Father's to be exact."
"Oh! So it wants to protect you like you D..."

HeatherBlogging Part 15
Tumblr media
Veronica awakens from her disturbing dream, and realizes that it’s time to take action. But first she needs to buy some time, before figuring out what exactly to do next.
Tumblr media
True to his threats, JD sneaks into Veronica’s room, ready to kill her, but finds that he is “too late”, as Veronica has done the deed herself.
Tumblr media
Silly JD, it’s only romantic if both people want to kill each other and are equally into it!
Conveniently for Veronica, JD reveals his villainous master plan to her supposed hanged body, which is to blow up the school with its entire staff and student body in it. And, if things had gone his way, I assume both he and Veronica would have been taken along the ride as well.
Tumblr media
I’ve just now realized that JD left his gun on Veronica’s bed after he left. And like, I don’t think it unintentionally got in the shots, since it’s present in at least two of them, and we get a pretty good view of it. I mean, I know that he is planning to die the next day, but didn’t it occur to him that leaving an unclean gun lying around in the room of someone who had supposedly hung themselves would be super incriminating? I guess it’s there to explain where Veronica got the gun she uses near the end, though before I had assumed she kept the gun she had shot Ram with, so I really don’t know what’s the deal here.
Tumblr media
Back to school the next day, and I don’t think Veronica had much of a plan thought out, considering she barges in and, though looking for JD, doesn’t seem to want him to find out she’s alive just yet. And considering that he told Miss Fleming that Veronica committed suicide, it wouldn’t be surprising if someone heard about it, and would be surprised to find Veronica was still alive. And yeah, no one else really talks to JD, but there was still a very high likelihood he would have found out that she was currently walking around school.
It takes a while, but Veronica eventually realizes exactly how JD plans to blow up the school: by pulling the same stunt his dad did, starting with a chain reaction from the boiler room.
Tumblr media
The reprise of Dead Girl Walking in the Musical adaptation is a bop, and I have listened to it several times, but cutting out the part where JD is caught so off-guard by Veronica’s appearance that he says “I knew that loose was too noose” is criminal.
Tumblr media
It is a little strange how the blue lighting seems to have shifted to JD for a while now. Perhaps it is some sort of indication of how blue was actually “JD’s side” and not really Veronica’s? Or maybe it’s just to create a better contrast between the scenes inside the boiler room, and the ones above in the gym: the heated but unified spirit we see in the gym, clashing with the fight between JD and Veronica in the boiler room, that will determine whether everyone there will live or die.
Tumblr media
Because you see, Veronica is about to use a red fire extinguisher to try and incapicitate JD, and red is the color of Westerburg. It is also the color of all fire extinguishers, and I am definitely starting to read too much into this.

wrote this on my phone in a hurry last night before my brain got too tired to function
on the whole I’ve enjoyed PoE2 more than PoE, but have been more invested in PoE’s main story just because it has a much more straightforward villain whose audacity is borderline hilarious to me

The Distraction
Pairing - Finn x Reader
Summary - You’re not great at improvisation, but when Finn’s life is on the line you have to come up with something . . . Even if it’s stupid.
Word Count - 1,247
Warnings - None!
Everyone in the Resistance knew that improvising when you were in a dangerous situation was not your strong point. In fact, there were multiple times when you had been in a tough spot and almost gotten killed because of your lack of fast thinking. It wasn’t a requirement of your job. You had never had to be a fast thinker.
Then the Resistance needed you to go on a mission with Finn. Which wasn’t a problem, because the two of you got along great, except for one tiny thing.
You might sorta have a tiny crush on him.
Could you really be held responsible though? It wasn’t as if you chose to have a crush on the Ex-Trooper. You let yourself gaze at him for a brief moment from across the Cantina table. Finn just happened to check off a lot of your boxes for a dream guy. Caring? Check. Smart? Check. Brave? Double check. Handsome? Triple check.
“Do I have something on my face?”
He startled you out of your thoughts, making you jump. “Huh?” Oh Maker had you been so zoned out he caught you staring?
“You were staring.” Finn replied, but you were relieved by the grin on his face that showed you there was no meanness in his words.
Heat rushed to your cheeks as you tried to come up with something to say. Some sort of explanation other than you were staring because you were admiring how good-looking he was. As usual, you couldn’t think when he was smiling at you like that. “I - uh,” Words. Words! “It was um -” You pointed up to the ceiling aimlessly, watching as Finn’s eyebrows raised. “I saw -” You were a smart person! Why couldn’t you come up with words?! You let out a sigh of defeat and looked down, fiddling with the ends of your hair. “Can we go yet?” You asked, deciding to avoid his question all together.
Like the gentleman he was, Finn didn’t say anything about your fumbling words, glancing around the Cantina before nodding. “Yeah, I don’t think we’re going to find anything here.” He dropped some credits on the table and stood up. “Let’s go.”
When you stood up to join him, you tried not to make anything of it when he grabbed your hand. It was something that Finn did when the two of you were in crowded places, and he didn’t want to lose you. Even if he thought of it as a friendly gesture, you couldn’t help but adore him a little more for it. “I’m sorry nothing came of that.” You spoke up, trying to distract yourself from how nice and warm Finn’s hand felt in yours.
By that time, the two of you had made it outside of the Cantina and through the crowd, but Finn never dropped your hand. “Ah, it’s okay. Better than being stuck at the base right?”
“Mediating a fight between Rey and Poe?” You teased, bumping into his shoulder with a grin.
Oh Maker that smile he sent back to you made your heart stutter and heat flood your cheeks. Then he laughed and the sound made you so happy. For all that Finn had to deal with, he deserved to laugh more often, and the fact that you had been able to make him do that filled you with a bit of pride. “You have no idea.” He said, shaking his head and pulling you to a stop. “Hey, I’m going to go get the Speeder. Do you want to wait here? I know your foot is still bothering you.” Finn added, gesturing to the bandaged area from an accident involving a wrench a few days ago.
You couldn’t believe that he remembered. “Yeah,” you replied with a soft smile. “That would be nice. Thanks, Finn.”
Finn gave your hand a final squeeze, and took off to get the Speeder.
Pulling your hand that he had been holding to your chest, you bit your lip with a stupid smile on your face. You knew nothing would come from Finn and you, he was too good, too brave, too amazing to want someone as insignificant as you, but any time that you had with him . . . you were going to cherish it.
Which was why you became concerned when it had been about five minutes, and he wasn’t back yet.
Finn was not the type of person to abandon you, and he had more than enough time to get to the Speeder. With alarm bells going off in your head, you started making your way over to where the two of you had parked the Speeder,
What you saw when you rounded the corner made you stop in your tracks.
A couple of StormTroopers, huddled around Finn, their blasters in their hands. You let out a loud gasp that grabbed their attention, and one spared a glance at you. “On your way, Citizen.” He said, focusing back on Finn.
You had to think, and you had to think fast. Once again, even in this time of crisis your brain wasn’t working. You couldn’t come up with a plan. You didn’t have a weapon, not that you could fire it if you did, and fighting hand to hand was out of the question. The only thing you could think of to do was distract them and hope that Finn could get away. But how to do so? All you could think of was that stupid game your brother and you used to play when you were little where one of you would . . . You let out another loud gasp, and pointed at something over the StormTroopers shoulders.
To your astonishment, they looked.
That was all Finn needed. In a matter of moments, he had both StormTroopers incapicitated, and was staring at you in a strange mixture of disbelief and astonishment. “I can’t believe that worked.” He said.
But you were too worried about more StormTroopers showing up to marvel with him. “Well, it did, so can we get out of here before more show up?” You asked, feeling the heat rush up to your face once more being under his gaze.
Knocked out of his daze by your words, he nodded, grabbing your hand again as the two of you took off towards the Speeders. Neither of you spoke anything else other than instructions until you were aboard the Falcon and into hyperspace. “Hey,” Finn spoke, grabbing your attention. “You did good out there.”
You scoffed, shaking your head at his compliment. “I pointed at the sky and gasped. Hardly anything to brag about.” You told him.
Finn stood up from his seat, and you watched as he crouched down in front of you, and once again you couldn’t help but admire how handsome he was. “I’m alive right now because of you. Don’t settle yourself short.” Your eyes widened as he leaned forward, placing a hand on your knee for support as he leaned forward and pressed a lingering kiss against your cheek. “I think you’re pretty amazing.” He said when he pulled away, giving you a smile before he went to go talk to Chewbacca who was piloting.
As soon as he was out of sight, your hand cupped your cheek, touching the lingering warmth there with a disbelieving smile. Finn thought you were amazing. Finn thought you were amazing.
An embarrassing squeal left your lips as you leaned back against your seat, that stupid, big, smile back on your face.

How is my Hiram 13 years of age already? He'd grown quite pudgy, but then he grew 4" overnight and now he's as tall as I am and thin as a rail! Thom has decided that he's old enough to help with the bees now and he is thriving at it. I swear that boy has the magic touch with all the livestock and animals we have.
It's a good thing, too, that he's as helpful as he is with the animals. Father really isn't doing well. He tires so easily now. He takes two naps a day on average. When he's not resting he's outside with the animals and crops. He's become very frustrated with how incapicitated he's become.
Mother is moving around like she's half her age lately. The girls keep her young, she says. Nancy and Julia are a great help around the house and have taken to helping out more in the kitchen. Julia is quite adept at needle and thread. Mother and I still enjoy knitting, while Julia embroiders cloth, and Nancy plays at the piano. This has become my favorite time in the evenings.

Two days ago we welcomed Thomas Garland, Jr. He came into this world so quick that there wasn't much fanfare. I went upstairs because my waters broke. Mother gathered the linens and by the time she was upstairs his head had already appeared! It was by far the easiest and least troublesome labor I've been through.

You Gotta Be Kidding Me (Rewrite): Part Eight
Fandom: Supernatural/Criminal Minds Relationship: Winchester!Reader x Spencer Reid
~*~*~*~*~
Sam instantly looked at the source of the voice. The fighting stopped at the newcomer’s presence. The last few newborns looked to him as if awaiting instructions. He was clearly their leader.
He also had you gripped in his arms. Sam glanced over at Cas, who nodded slightly. This was the vampire you were looking for.
“I will admit.” the vampire chuckled, “I did not think I would see you again.”
“You should know that hunters don’t give up that easily,” Sam took a cautious step forward, “Especially when they are pissed off.”
The vampire took a step back, away from Sam. You struggled in his arms.
“Yes, your partner. How is he handling the transformation? Will he be joining us soon?” he purred.
“No way in hell.” you spat out.
“Ah, so you’ve killed him already.” he sighed dramatically, “Such a shame. I thought he would have some potential. More so if he were able to take down a hunter and join us.”
As he groaned about not getting his newest recruit, you carefully reached into your pocket, and felt for the syringe. All you needed was to get him off guard. Once you had the blood, nothing else mattered. Hopefully you would kill this douche, but the blood mattered.
“Perhaps, you’ll have to be our new recruit.”
That got you to pay attention again.
“Oh no. You wouldn’t want me.” you made eye contact with Sam, a plan forming.
“She’s right.” he continued, getting the hint, “She’s terrible at following directions.”
Cas joined in, “She would make a terrible soldier. She complains too much.”
“Plus, I have a strong suspicion that I’m allergic to blood.” you rattled off.
“Enough.” the vampire groaned and tossed you aside, annoyed with your talking.
You quickly got back on your feet, reaching inside your jacket pocket.
“Don’t you remember?” the vampire asked, “You dropped your blade when I caught you, love.”
“Yes, but I don’t need a knife.” you quipped.
Before he could ask what you meant, you rushed him and smoothing injected the syringe of dead man’s blood into his body.
He screamed in pain before stumbling back. He looked up at you with anger before falling to his knees. Upon seeing their master incapicitated, the few remaining newborns ran away.
“We should go after them.” Castiel insisted.
“After.” you sighed, “Sam, kill him and get the blood.”
Your brother nodded and stepped forward, weapon in hand. You turned back to the group of humans being used as feeding bags, picking up your knife along the way. You started trying to wake them up. The first one flinched.
“It’s okay. We’re here to get you out.” you untied her wrists.
“What about...them?” she asked, slowly coming to her senses.
“We took care of them. They won’t hurt you anymore.” you reassured her.
She nodded slowly before turning her head towards the others, “The one on the end, she needs the most help. She tried to free us, and they fed on her the most.”
You patted the young woman’s arm before getting walking over to the slumped over body. You tried to hold back the hope as you got closer, but once you saw her face relief spread across your body.
“Rebecca.” you gently lifted her head, examining her for injuries. Besides for some cuts and bruises she seems fine. She blinked her eyes.
“Winchester.” she croaked out, “Better late than never.”
You rolled your eyes before turning to Cas, “A little help?”
Within fifteen minutes, you got all the humans outside. Their respective loved ones were on the way, happy they were found.
“There’s no way to explain what happened in there.” the young woman you freed first asked.
You shook your head, “Not rationally, not.”
She paused before asking, “You help people like us for a living?”
“I used to.” you answered, “My brothers still do.”
“Why stop? It seems like y’all do a lot of good.”
You tried to think of a good answer, but all the ones you came up with seemed so trivial now. Before you could even attempt to answer, a car pulled up in front of you, and an older woman stepped out.
“Mom.”
“Maya!”
They ran to each other and embraced, tears leaking from their eyes. You quickly stepped away from the reunion. You walked over to Sam and Cas.
“Did you get the blood?” you asked.
Sam held up the stained jar, in affirmative.
“We should go, before someone calls the cops.”
You took the jar from him and carefully got into the car. You weren’t sure how much blood the cure required, and you didn’t want to risk losing a single drop.
~*~*~*~*~
You opened the door to your apartment quickly, hoping that you didn’t take too long.
“Dean? Spencer?” you called out, worried by the silence that initially greeted you.
“In here!” Dean’s voice was heard from the living room. You continued into the apartment, Sam and Castiel close behind you.
“What happened to your face?” you asked, noting that Dean had started brewing the cure.
“Loverboy can pack one hell of a punch.” he replied, gesturing to the fresh bruises on his face and neck.
“That explains why my apartment is wrecked.” you glanced at the upturned couch and broken side table, “Did he-”
Dean cut you off, “No. I gave him some dead man’s blood and put him in your room.”
Dean poured in another ingredient. You handed him the jar of blood.
After a few more minutes, he handed you the finished cure.
“Make sure he drinks all of it.” Sam reminded you, “We’ll be here if you need us.”
You nodded and walked into your bedroom. Under normal circumstances, you would think that Spencer was sleeping. If you could ignore the pained scowl on his face, it would be as if he was blissfully asleep. You tried to make noise as you approached him, not wanting to startle him awake.
“Spencer?” you asked.
His eyes opened and instantly locked on you. His nose scrunched, probably at the smell of the cure.
“This will fix you.” you sat on the bed cautiously, “But it’s going to hurt a lot. Are you ready?”
He nodded weakly, the effects of the dead man’s blood still in his system. You helped him to sit up enough to drink the cure in its entirety. Once it was gone, you set the cup down on the nightstand.
Spencer looked up at you, “I don’t think it’s-”
His words were cut off by a sharp gasp. His back arched off the bed. His eyes shut as his body began to convulse.
You gripped his hand tightly, “I’m sorry, Spence.”
