That Chile Emmett in That Casket
Sometimes the page was tacked, flush against plaster with a pearl hatpin, or jammed into a dime-store frame with a glowing Jesus. In some kingly
Front rooms, its place was in the shadowbox, propped on one ripped edge, or laid curly-cornered on the coffee table, smudged and eaten sheer
With the pass-around. In the kitchen, it was blurred by stew smoke or pot liquor-blotched until somebody got smart enough to scotch-tape
It to door of the humming fridge, and the boy without eyes kept staring. Mamas did the slow fold before wedging it into their flowered plastic
coin purses, daddies found a sacred place in pleather wallets right next to the thought of cash. And at least once every week, usually on Sunday
after church or when you dared think you didn't have to speak proper to that old white lady who answered the phone at your daddy's job,
or when, as Mama said, you showed your ass by sassin' or backtalking, the page would be pulled down, pulled out, unfolded, smoothed flat,
and you had to look. Look, boy. And they made sure you kept looking while your daddy shook his head, mumbling 'this is why you got to act
Right 'round white folk,' then dropped his smoke-threaded gaze to whisper, 'Lord, they kilt that chile more than one time.' Mama held on to your eyes -
See what happens when you don't be careful?
She meant white men could turn you into a stupid reason for a suit, that your last face would be silt,
Stunned in its skid and worshipped, your right eye reborn in the cave of your mouth. 'Look!' she screeched. You did. But then you remembered
there weren't any pictures of you in the house, pinned high on the wall, folded up tight against the Lord, toted like talisman in wallet or purse.
You'd searched, woe climbing like river in your chest. But there were no pictures of you anywhere. You sparked no moral. You were alive.

Incendiary by @roslynwrites
“Her eyes widened and then she looked up at Zuko, who looked a little smug. “I told you,” he said. “I can’t believe I haven’t had you try ice cream yet.” “It’s like iced fruit, but better,” said Katara, delighted. “Creamier.”” - Ch. 24

JACKET DESIGN BY THE LATE, GREAT RANDY UCHIDA (✝) -- GROTESQUE IN ITS JAGGED, VICIOUS, & UNDILUTED BRUTALITY.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on close-up, isolated shots of the G.I.S.M. Detestation 12” LP sleeve art, pressed by Dogma Records/City Rocker Records, c. 1983.
Real shit, not that PC-as-fuck, wimp-ridden, censored tripe that Relapse has been pushing as of late, and I still can't believe Sakevi approved the edit of Randy's artwork in this recent reissue. It's downright disrespectful and fucking embarrassing, full stop. Poor Randy, man, and would he have even approved of Relapse's current path of self-censorship, I wonder? Obi strip, my arse. **smfh**

Some folks and I on the Artists of Skylands server are collabing and making our own fanlander team, and I'm designing the Fire element member of the team, and I've came up with a concept for a design, so meet Incendiary!
Incendiary is a purple fire beast who is a bit of a wildcard, and can be a bit crazy or even feral at sometimes. Though deep down, she's actually pretty friendly, and is especially friendly towards children.
This is not her final design.

what is this about neris as mr darcy and Elizabeth i see?
Oh? You mean the tentatively titled Rage In His Eyes (And In His Pants)? The one where neris engage in venomous looks, witty banter, and longing hand touches? Where Eris is so afraid of becoming his father, reluctant to choose a wife and burden her with responsibilities as well as his own demons? Where he wants her despite all of his reservations, faced with the undeniable truth of “that’s my wife”? Where Nesta is the fierce oldest sister tasked with fending off her mother’s scheming, protecting her sisters as well as her own heart? Who has come to resent the entire concept of marriage under her mother’s strict tutelage? With a side plot of elucien as Jane and Bingley? That one?
