Incredible Places You Probably Never Knew Existed
The world has become a smaller place thanks to technology. Traveling is now faster and more convenient than it has ever been. This has led to an increase in tourism with many people visiting far-off places which are renowned for their natural beauty, cultural significance, intriguing history or zestful events. As a result, it feels like almost all the wonderful places on the planet have been explored and exploited by the growing number of curious travelers. However, our planet is so huge and so diverse that there are several places which remain untouched and see a fairly smaller number of visitors. Away from the crowds of bustling cities, these places have maintained their charm.
The world is full of wonders, many of which you may not know exist until you stumble upon them. These 17 places should inspire any curious wanderer to venture into the beauty of the world’s lesser-known corners.
1. The Glowing Shores of Vaadhoo, Maldives
This place you see many times on social media, movies, etc. The beaches of Vaadhoo within the Maldives match a sea of stars at nighttime because of the spectacular bluish-white glow sparkling along their shores. These shimmering looks like to mirror the star-studded sky at nighttime. One would undoubtedly be lost in this magic upon seeing this phenomenon. These mesmeric shimmers return from the light plankton found in the waters close to shore.
This phytoplankton species is particularly known for its bioluminescence. The first species that line the Maldivian shore is the dinoflagellates. Such species’ cell membranes react to electrical signals that make them glow.
2. Tunnel of Love, Ukraine
This is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Ukraine. Tunnel of love is located in the town of Kleven. Here you can see the perfect fusion of great architecture of nature and humans.
This tunnel is a 3 km long railway line surrounded by trees. The train track itself caused the formation of this tunnel. This place in Ukraine mainly attracts photographers. Also, the tunnel of love is considered the most romantic place in the world.
3. Underwater Waterfall, Mauritius
Mauritius is known for its best beaches and crystal clear sea. But there is an unbelievable place at the southwest corner of the island. That appears to be an underwater waterfall. Even if it looks like this but it is not actually a flowing region of water. This is an only optical illusion. That happens because of the seabed structure.
The island sits on an ocean shelf that is no more than 500 feet deep. At the edge of the shelf, it shortly plunges of almost depths of about 4Km. And what you’re actually seeing the water isn’t water falling down into the abyss but particles of sand that are being pushed over by the current.
4. Marble Caves, Chile
While you explore this beautiful country have a pit stop at the marvelous marble caves. That can be found on General Carrera. These stunning natural caves really are photogenic with the swirling patterns of the caves while standing out against the blue glacial lake.
Caves are located at the Southern part of the Carretera Austral inside the second largest lake of South America. It will take some time to reach there, but it was worth all the efforts.
5. Grand Prismatic Spring, Wyoming, USA
This is the stunningly colorful Grand Prismatic spring is in Yellowstone National Park. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States. Grand Prismatic Spring is bigger than a football field with a depth of at least 160 feet and approximately 370 feet wide.
The spring is fed through a crack in its floor through that as much as 560 gallons of water is released into it each minute. Its normal temperature is 71°C. Because of this, it is surrounded by such vibrant rings.
The color is created due to the presence of microbes that live in hot environments. You can see various colors depending on the time of year. You will see various colors such as red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. This is one of the most beautiful and incredible places on earth and is also worth a visit place.
