Indian Chaotic Academia Pt. 1

Wanting to wear jumpers and hoodies but changing your mind after looking at the daily temperature

Scoring 97% in English in your board exams but your spoken English makes you sound like you are an illiterate crackhead

Messy yet (somewhat) intelligible handwriting

A weak spot for old Bollywood songs regardless of your personal taste in music

Wanting to study in a park or a cafe but you can't as they're too loud and busy

Adrak chai is the solution to everything

Muting the class WhatsApp group so you can read angsty fanfiction at 3 a.m. without alerting your parents

Buying several highlighters but still end up using blunt pencils to mark important study material

At some point, a B is the best grade you'll ever find in your report card

Reading the Mahabharata at the back of the class in the same way you would read a modern novel ("Nooo, why did he have to die 😭")

Coming up with ideas for study charts but never actually making them

The poem you have to learn in your regional language class is actually your favourite childhood song

Getting the 'Slytherin house' that always comes last in every school event

India was under the colonization of the British for almost 200 years. Starting from the Battle of Plassey in 1764 to 15th August 1947.

Not only did the British cause enormous damage to the wealth and resources of our nation, but they also caused a fatal wound to the pride of the people.

India can become 'Sone ki chiriya' or the golden bird again, but it won't be possible if the westernized ideology of inferiority doesn't leave our country.

The speech of Lord Macaulay in the British Parliament paints the generational trauma they inflicted upon us.

"I accept catholic beyond the across and across of India and I accept not apparent one getting who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such abundance I accept apparent in this country, such top moral values, humans of such calibre, that I do not anticipate we would anytime beat this country, unless we breach the actual courage of this nation, which is her airy and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I adduce that we alter her old and age-old apprenticeship system, her culture, for if the Indians anticipate that all that is adopted and English is acceptable and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their built-in self-culture and they will become what we ambition them, an absolutely bedevilled nation."

Drinking half cup coffee in steel glass coz ur family doesn't get the cups out unless u got visitors

U don't find overcoats literally anywhere so u hv to make do with woolen sweaters

Sorry wt aesthetic? I only get really bright highlighters that are an eye sore in the kirana shop beside my house

Ur frnds r sending pics of their messy rooms and then u send one and they reply "not seeing that, it's u thr is no competition"

Sitting outside in the skl corridor when teacher is on leave and gossipping with ur frnds about three different guys all while one of them gets their work done and the other side half of it but u just have a blank paper and yet manage to submit finished work ten minutes later

History assignment. 30 pages. U end up with 50 pages after u cut out and summarise and ur teacher goes "I asked for a project for 11th graders not a thesis for undergraduates"

Humanities and social stigma. That's all.

I forgot wt else i wanted to type oops but yay now m ranting about things i do and face

Did I mention coffee in steel glasses and only last minute work?
