HIGH PRIESTESS: I want sentries at every door. Put them on the roofs if you have to. KYRIE: What’s going on? HIGH PRIESTESS: There’s been an attack. Elion, you’re not to leave his side. Not one moment. ELION: Understood. KYRIE: What is happening? For once can you just give me a direct answer?! HIGH PRIESTESS: sighs Prince Lucien… he is dead. KYRIE: W-What? HIGH PRIESTESS: Murdered in his own bed. I… don’t know what to think anymore. KYRIE: H-How? Who— HIGH PRIESTESS: The Guard have someone in custody, but I’m not taking any chances. Kyrie, call the Chosen. They are not to leave the premise until further notice. INDRYR: Some of us have already come. If we’re to be locked down, I think we have a right to know why. HIGH PRIESTESS: His Grace will explain to you at a later— KYRIE: Lucien has been killed. ÅSE: Hah? Dead? What is meaning of this? Who is culprit? What is being done?! HIGH PRIESTESS: This is none of your concern. It will be dealt with— EIRA: Like you’ve dealt with everything else? ÅSE: You will deal with me! You tell me what is going on in this city! Nothing is right here! You are all foul! I wish not to share breath with you a moment more! EIRA: Åse— ÅSE: No! I am not to be calmed! That child was innocent, and there is killers crawling all over this place! Where is justice? HIGH PRIESTESS: Kyrie. Get them under control. The trials will be postponed. Soon there will be envoys from Kera arriving. It’s going to be a political nightmare… KYRIE: Is that all you care about? We’ve known the Prince since he was— HIGH PRIESTESS: We will speak later. Elion. ELION: Yes, Mistress. ÅSE: And you, Priest! Are you to be like cattle herd? What have you to say?! EIRA: Åse, stop it. TAIYO: Your Grace? Maybe you should sit down… KYRIE: I’m fine. TAIYO: If you’re unwell, you shouldn’t push yourself. INDRYR: I have something for queasiness. EIRA: I’ll get Eve. KYRIE: Please, I’ll be fine. We should gather the others. We have a lot to discuss.

Luneah Xianzhou - for @lazysunjade's Starlight Peak Teahouse
Race: Half sun and half moon dragon. From this, he can shift between a sun dragon and a moon dragon form. This goes both for his humanoid and dragon forms. Rank: High General of the Lunar forces of Iksong, the main army guarding the oldest dragon city the sun and moon dragons share. He is the highest-ranking military officer, well-known, feared, and revered depending on your side.
With his rank comes responsibility, riches, and a heavy weighing word in all the nation's politics. No one wants to be on the wrong side of the general. His most used title depending on what part of the capital he is in is either: Sun or Moonlord. If they become closer friends with someone they would more likely call him Neah or Lune
Clothing style: His official garb is much like the one in the screenshots, on top of that he has a sizeable two-handed sword on his back. The blade is Moonsong; a legendary blade known to adapt to work with a dragon in its form. When held, it glows a dark blue almost like ice, while in dragon form, it becomes an entirely magic sword that is used with no hands needed. (Sword looks borrowed from Elden Ring yes)
Tumblr media
For more casual garb, he uses a light white robe with gold details (the same type I had on Indryr if memory serves)
Personality:
Luneah can come off as cold and distant, but he is neither. He tends to come off that way at first simply because its the demeanor he has in his work. If you take your time to get to know him better though, he shows a different side. Luneah loves music, from his sun dragon side, and can boast of being a very good singer.
He is a soft-spoken man, calm, and collected. it would take a lot to make him raise his voice, or make a scene of any kind. On the other hand, he would be swift to act if his presence was needed for some reason or the other.
He is well-educated, clever, quick to find solutions, and a tactician both on the battlefield and in general discussions. Yet also not one to not admit if he is wrong.
His weak spot is a good Oolong tea and any kind of sweet biscuits and cookies. All dragons do come with a sweet tooth after all.
The host he applies for: Peia Relationship: Platonic (He does not look for anything more, it has never been a thing on his mind) Role: Friendly, perhaps antagonistic only if someone asks for it. He is a protective man after all.
Background story:
Luneah is the bastard son of the old general of the forces he now leads. His mother was a sun dragon. A blend between the two is generally frowned upon, but having the luck of being born to look like a moon dragon, he had been accepted by everyone before the Sun dragon side showed itself.
Having been homeschooled and trained by the best of the army's trainers, he quickly showed his skill both in combat and in the art of military tactics. Beating his own father in dragon chess at the age of only 1500 years old.
When his father got too old to lead, he became the natural one to take over, and the small complaints about his heritage were quickly silenced. Under his watchful eye, the army has become better, and stronger and the capital is seen as unbreakable.
To this day, there will still occasionally be someone who complains about his lineage, but he has long ago learned to ignore them. He spends what little free time he has, enjoying finer places, like tea houses or restaurants.
(Some screenshots of his face, both sun and moon dragon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the two sides are too much work though, you can choose for him to stay in one or the other, I leave that choice up to you. Hopefully, I remembered all the info you wanted, and I hope you like him ^^

Laerta, the wandering healer (and Lady) for @lazysunjade’s Chosen of the Sun
Capricornius |  INFJ-A - Advocate
Race: Dragonkin
CLASS: Healer / Necromancer
ABILITY: Life/Death Restoration/Corruption and manipulation
ORIGINS: Mountains of Sundravar but has not held home there in many centuries.
Strengths: Loyal | Compassionate | Honest
Weakness: Awkward | Loner | Distrustful
Laerta was born with a rather paradoxal gift. The same hands that give them the ability to heal and restore life, has the powers to corrupt and take it. It is a gift that Laerta has little understanding over, and often loses control over, using it for their compassionate heart and having in past been abused by others because of it. For this, Laerta has been a loner most of their life, with little trust given to those around them regardless of what they are. Laerta has come to understand that the only way to control their powers is to learn the balance between them, and they have been seeking the gods for decades in hopes they will grant them their wish.
Laerta is a calm and patient person, compassionate, honest and truthful to a fault. They are not the most expressive of people, and are rather awkward around others, but when one gets Laerta to smile or laugh, their smile can light up a room. Laerta is not evil by nature and not good by deffualt, like their powers, they stand on gray ground between using their gift to heal and restore, but also their curse to corrupt and defend themself. Despite that, Laerta is a compassionate person to a fault, and cannot walk past others knowing their gift can aid them, reason why Laerta travels healing those who need them and the reason why Laerta will not give up on their powers, for they believe their gift can help many.
Long Backstory bellow.
Laerta was born in the outskirts of the Mountains of Sundravar. A place known for being cold a harsh, where the mountains are perpetually covered in snow, but the Sundravar city knows nothing of winter. They were not born in the city, but instead on a cave hidden in the serpentine paths that access it.
They were born to an unknown mother and father and actually were taken by a traveling humans who took refuge in the caves while seeking to trade in the city. The humans took them, hoping to sell the dragonling to anyone interested in such a pet. However, once Laerta healed one of the humans who took them of an illness that was reportedly chronic and incurable, the human decided instead Laerta would be a very valuable asset.
Instead of being taken to Sundravar, the dragonling was taken down south, to a city were no dragons lived. Laerta was used and abused by the city who took them, being paraded as a miraculous attraction whose ‘divine tears’ heal the sick, and ‘holy horns’ bring back the dead.
Laerta’s predicament brought them a lot of pain, as the more they healed and the more abuse was placed on them, the more darkness and corruption grew inside them, driving them ill. Laerta was fully convinced that was all there was to their life, for they did not know any other, but eventually, Laerta’s powers showed their dark side. Their suffering oozed out of them in the form of a dark energy and black tar they’d vomit as their pain started contaminating the land, and eventually, Laerta showed to hold the ability to bring about death. Undead started rising controlled by Laerta’s suffering and seeking to kill the people and free the dragonling. Those who came seeking Laerta’s healing instead met rot. Certain Laerta was causing the rot and illness on the city, the officials were adamant on killing them.
Hearing of what was happening down south, Sundravar royalty sent two dragon knights to the city at the time to help with the situation, only to find the chained Laerta whose rather paradoxal powers of life and death had been behind all that was happening on the region. The dragons took pitty upon Laerta, who was but a child at the time and took Laerta with them.
They were the ones who named Laerta and raised them, never telling Laerta the name of the city had held them captive for many years, out of fear they’d seek revenge, for no one holds a grudge like a dragons. The dragons took Laerta back to the city of Sundravar, where they believed the young dragon had been born, hoping to find their family and origins there, but they found no ties to Laerta there and no other dragon in the region had simmilar traits or appearance to that of Laerta.
It was the first time Laerta knew anything similar to love or a family, as the two knights adopted them. Despite that, Laerta grew to always be a very reclusive and quiet dragon, awkward among even their own kind and distrustful of others. Despite their distrustful nature, Laerta was raised to be compassionate and loyal, and was often incapable of denying someone aid or healing when they knew they could.
Their powers were not an easy thing to learn or control, as the more Laerta’s healing developed so did the opposite abilities and any attempt at repressing them would leave Laerta sickly. It seemed Laerta skills bordered on two extremes, between the skills of healing and regeneration of a healer, and decay, death and spiritual manipulation of a necromancer. Laerta’s powers gave them plenty of abilities, from being able to heal physical wounds, to curing deep illnesses, it went as far as being able to restore lost limbs. On the hindsight, they also grew in powers of corruption and rot, rot away limbs and kill upon touch, and were able to animate the dead and even capture and control spirits. The dragons believed Laerta’s powers were not so much healing, but some form of spiritual manipulation where healing and rotting came as a manifestation of these powers.
Laerta’s power of life however has a counterbalance, as every illness, wound or affliction Laerta heals appears to be absorbed by them, and turns into a negative energy that sickens their very spirit. This energy has to be used, so far Laerta only knows how by infusing it into others, or expelling it into the very environment, in the form of a black tar that kills what it touches, or by reanimating corpses or soul trapping.
One time Laerta desired to see how far their power went, and when the pet of one of the elfs in town died, Laerta was able to fully resurrect and restore the cat to her former self. The elf however was scared by Laerta and ran off leaving Laerta with the cat who they adopted and named Lady, keeping her as their dearest friend ever since. Lady’s life should have forfeited centuries ago, but it appears Laerta has ‘soul trapped’ her to her body and uses their powers to keep the cat healthy decades past.
Laerta eventually left the Mountains of Sundravar, hoping to find answers of who their birth family was and what is the source of their paradoxal powers. While traveling, Laerta’s compassion often took the best of them, and they would use their powers of healing to aid all those that sought them or that they found on their travels, gaining the tittle of a wandering Healer. Everywhere they went, Laerta would learn from the local healers and hidden necromancers more secrets about their powers.
They eventually found their way to the outskirts of Irauygate, where they met Indryr, a fellow dragon. Curious about the dragon, whose persistence eventually broke down their barriers, Laerta sees Indryr as a friend they often visit whenever near Irauygate.
Laerta is a very loyal person, and despite being a loner and distrustful of most people, their compassionate nature is their greatest strength and greatest fault. They have a soft spot for children and elderly, being an orphan themselves. Due to being badly socialized, Laerta is brutally honest to the point of rudeness and they are not one to lie, having little interest in court conspiracies and petty schemes, but also being rather naive to them.
On the hindsight and if pushed enough, Laerta is very spiteful, not being privy of rotting someone’s limb off if they dared use that limb to strike them, and caring little for appearances if they must dish out some honest thoughts on the person who has offended them.

ELION: You know, Moon Pet, I didn’t mention it before, but Lord Hayashi seemed oddly surprised to hear of those books he supposedly asked to borrow. Almost as if, he hadn’t. KYRIE: Oh? How peculiar. ELION: laughs If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were up to something. KYRIE: Up to something? Don’t be silly. Though, now that you mention it, it’s just not proper for someone like you to be dining openly with the Duke and His Highness. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait outside. ELION: You can keep crafting plans to get rid of me, but you realize it only hurts you in the end. After all, no one’s trying to kill me. KYRIE: I’m aware. But if surviving means having no privacy, then I’m not sure it’s a life I want to live. MAID: Your Grace, Your Highness, do come in. The other guests are already waiting in the parlor. LUCIEN: Hello! INDRYR: …Good evening? ASTER: My, my, I didn’t know there would be minors here tonight! I hope this doesn’t mean the booze is off the menu. KYRIE: laughs MAID: My lords, the Duke should be down momentarily. Please make yourselves comfortable. KYRIE: Thank you. And could you see to it that the frightening looking elf outside is given his supper, too? MAID: Of course, Your Grace. ASTER: Well, aren’t you sparkly. LUCIEN: Thank you! KYRIE: Indryr, Aster, this is Prince Lucien. He’s visiting from the kingdom of Kera. LUCIEN: That’s right! Just for the festival! I can’t believe I’m already meeting so many of the Ten! You’re the Bard, aren’t you? ASTER: How’d you guess? Ha! Suppose I have that look about me, don’t I? What about my floral friend here? LUCIEN: Indryr, right? Of Irauygate? They say you’re a talented alchemist! INDRYR: Correct on all accounts. ASTER: Modest too, eh? ELDEWYN: Ah, good evening, everyone! Please excuse my lateness. I hope you’re all most comfortable. I must say, I am absolutely thrilled to host you all tonight. When His Grace offered, I was beside myself with excitement. It’s not every day someone gets a private meeting with the Chosen. I expect I’ll be the talk of the town! KYRIE: Thank you, my lord, for your hospitality. ELDEWYN: Of course, of course! Allow me to introduce myself. Duke Phineos Eldewyn, magistrate, and longtime supporter of the trials. I welcome you all to my most humble abode. KYRIE: Most gracious of you. This is Indryr and Aster, I’m sure you’ve heard much about them, already. ELDEWYN: Yes, yes! And so excited to learn more! Why don’t we all make our way to the dining room? Dinner will be served shortly! KYRIE: whispering Do you have it? INDRYR: Of course, Your Grace. Always. KYRIE: I appreciate you offering. Let’s hope we needn’t have use for it tonight. INDRYR: I couldn’t agree more. But if Plan A fails, then… ASTER: Plan A for Aster, boys! It’s all under control.

ASTER: So then I said, what do you mean it doesn’t fit? An ogre’s only got three toes! ELDEWYN: You have such a gift for storytelling! Truly charming! ASTER: Just wait till you hear me sing! LUCIEN: Oh, can we?! ASTER: Most certainly! KYRIE: clears throat ASTER: Ah, right, right. Maybe after dinner! And I expect there’s still dessert to be had. ELDEWYN: Of course! What sort of dinner party would it be with no dessert? ASTER: And more wine! ELDEWYN: It sweetens the conversation! INDRYR: I’m afraid you’ll put our dear bard into an early grave. ASTER: Don’t listen to him, my good sir. I’m very well practiced. ELDEWYN: Ahaha, but I wouldn’t want to dampen your chances in the games. It’s important to stay focused, you know. When is the next trial, Your Grace? KYRIE: Just three days from now, my lord. ELDEWYN: Very good. Not to rush you, of course. I expect it’s been quite the challenge conducting for the first time. I was curious how you might go about it. Your sister took to it like bees on honey. A profoundly optimistic and delightful maiden, Her Grace is. A shame she’s away this year. INDRYR: I would think someone so gentle might be ill-suited to run the trials. Considering the combative nature of them. ELDEWYN: Well, certainly the trials have been more brutish in the past… But that’s hardly the case now, isn’t that right, Your Highness? LUCIEN: My mother lobbied for a more humanitarian structure. I think we can all agree the trials are more enjoyable without any bloodshed. ELDEWYN: It’s true the games are still enjoyable, but there was something to be said about such high stakes. These past few ceremonies haven’t had the same sort of enthusiasm. At least, one might expect the Chosen to be far more invested when their lives depend on it! But that’s all in the past now. INDRYR: You sound almost nostalgic. ELDEWYN: Oh, think nothing of it. Those were different times. ASTER: Well lucky us we came when we did, hm? LUCIEN: Bloodsport was abolished before I was even born! ELDEWYN: Yes, nearly twenty years ago, I think it was. There was some dreadful business around then, and the Keran Queen— Lucien’s sweet mother— threatened to withdraw her financial support if the Church did not reform. After decades of shouting about it, they finally banned it once and for all! INDRYR: Then, there were others that wished the rules changed? ELDEWYN: Oh yes, there were some here at home that made such a fuss, but it was tradition, you know. ASTER: Ah, the wine is just delicious, my lord! ELDEWYN: I’m so glad you appreciate it! One of my favorites. INDRYR: That dreadful business you mentioned… ASTER: I’m sure that’s a story! ELDEWYN: Eh… yes, well… It was unfortunate. ASTER: Come now, my lord, we’re all shivering in anticipation! Good wine deserves a good story. A real sordid tale, eh?

The Noble Dinner |
Indryr and Kyrie devise a plan to find out more information about what’s been going on. They will approach a member of the aristocracy to arrange a dinner party in an effort to get the nobleman to loosen their lips about past events. Their success will be determined by a series of checks based on either charisma or deception. This will be both a test of wits and of words. Choose wisely.

KYRIE: Thank you again for the potions, Indryr. Sleep well. INDRYR: You too, Your Grace. Your Grace, It has come into my knowledge that there seems to have been some sort of situation during the trials twenty years ago. Lord Tev’us tells me he witnessed, with his own eyes, two royal guards interfering we the proceedings. They killed one of the Chosen. An elf named Castien Thallan who is buried here, beneath the temple in the commoner crypt. I cannot say with any certainty, but it feels as thought this situation could be connected with the other circumstances we discussed. There seems to be a great deal going on beyond your knowledge, and with your sight impeded, I fear danger may be nearer than we think. Indryr Indryr, Your words concern me. Indeed, there’s much more going on than I first expected. It seems I’m being shut out at every turn, and now, even the Moon cannot guide me. During the upcoming gala, there will be many elder nobles in attendance. I have an idea to arrange a private dinner. Hosting any of the Chosen for a dinner party would be quite attractive to the aristocracy. Perhaps, after a few drinks, we can persuade them to speak about what occurred twenty years ago. I hope you will agree to attend with me. We can choose another so as to make things more casual. I will give you further details after the gala tomorrow. Kyrie Loren

INDRYR: If he knows anything more, it may be to our benefit to try. We don’t know when we’ll get the opportunity to confront someone like him again. KYRIE: I guess you’re right, but… Well, let’s get it over with, then. KYRIE: My lord, might we speak to you a moment? ELDEWYN: Mm? Ah, of course! Help yourself to the wine in the meantime, Master Bard! ASTER: Way ahead of you! ELDEWYN: Yes, Your Grace? How might I help you? KYRIE: Indryr. ELDEWYN: What is that? What are you doing—?! INDRYR: You know more about Castien than you’re letting on. ELDEWYN: Why on earth do you care so much about him? What is this nonsense? Help! Help! KYRIE: Please, my lord, don’t— ELDEWYN: In here, help me at once— KYRIE: Stop shouting. INDRYR: Your Grace… ELDEWYN: What… are you doing… to me… KYRIE: I didn’t want it to have to come to this. We’re not trying to hurt you. We just need information. Indryr, please proceed. INDRYR: I… Uh… right. Castien Thallan, who was he really? ELDEWYN: I told you what I know! I’m just a magistrate! I remember rumors swirling at the time that Castien was the illegitimate child of some noble… They said he had claim to a great fortune and that is why he’d come up from the south to stir trouble, but I can’t tell you what I don’t know! INDRYR: The scroll will make sure of that. Then, his followers believed him to be of noble bloodline? ELDEWYN: I suppose they did, how should I know what they thought? I never met them! They were rowdy and destructive! Made noise and broke things wherever they went! They had a clear disdain for authority. We of the aristocracy knew to steer clear. INDRYR: And after Castien’s death? What happened to them? ELDEWYN: The few that remained became outspoken protesters of the trials. But back then there was a movement to have the tradition done away with. They weren’t the only ones to speak out. Once the rules were altered, it got quiet and I haven’t heard a thing about it since! KYRIE: You said Castien’s involvement in the trials was predetermined. ELDEWYN: There were whispers that the priest before you— Lord Ilduin— had been bribed by Castien’s father. It’s all hearsay. I said I don’t know. KYRIE: Then he doesn’t. It’s all speculation. ELDEWYN: Release me at once! KYRIE: Very well. But you will speak nothing of this. You will tell no one we were here or what we’ve asked of you. ELDEWYN: Yes, Your Grace. ELDWYN: Now if you would all kindly get out of my home. Now! KYRIE: Aster, Lucien, let’s go. ASTER: Hm? Has it all gone tails up then? LUCIEN: We heard yelling… KYRIE: Please just gather your things. We’re leaving. KYRIE: wincing INDRYR: Your Grace… you’re unwell. KYRIE: I’m fine. INDRYR: You… have the power to compel. KYRIE: And it’s no easy feat. It takes a heavy toll to force your will on another. INDRYR: I expect it is quite the burden… One might find you quite the formidable foe. KYRIE: Trust me, Indryr, if I’d ever used my powers on any of you, you’d know of it. It’s not something one can hide. A mind is very aware when it loses control. Duke Eldewyn will only submit so long as I channel the spell. But there was no other way. If he tells anyone what we’ve done… KYRIE: I- Indryr? I… Please— INDRYR: Don’t worry, Your Grace. Your secret is safe with me.

INDRYR: A fascinating idea. There is a great deal of faith placed in lunar priests. Suppose if they should misdirect and say they have received visions they have not… No one would be any the wiser. ASTER: Now that I think of it, how does that whole heaven-to-earth pipeline work, anyhow? KYRIE: Quite ambiguously. Around the time of the Selenehelion, we begin receiving hazy visions. For my sister and I, it was always somewhat complicated. In general, there is only ever one lunar priest of age at any given time. However, because Alphanei and I were twins, our visions were often shared. It was suggested, once, that we conduct together, but I declined. Alphanei’s emotional investment in leading the ceremony seemed to strengthen her ties with the moon. My visions lessened, and hers became stronger. Only now that I’m leading myself do I feel an innate sense of connection to the Chosen. You were all strangers when I brought you here— I’d never heard nor met any of you before. But even before seeing you in the flesh, I felt as if we had known each other for years. INDRYR: And is there some consequence to you for not following the Moon’s vague instruction? KYRIE: I admit, I don’t know. A great part of me feels compelled. It’s hard to explain. Even when I sat aside and let my sister operate on her own, I felt overwhelmingly as if I was doing something wrong. I guess this connection we have, it’s something we’re born with, and impossible to eradicate. That being said, if we should act against that feeling… By that I mean, could a lunar priest have lied about the selected Ten? Yes. I think he could. LUCIEN: But wouldn’t that upset the goddess? KYRIE: Maybe. The truth is, I don’t hear her anymore than you. Divine sensation is just that: Sensation. If she were to punish me for going against her wishes, I can’t imagine what that might look like. Only, in our hearts, I suppose it would feel a bit like betraying someone… something… we love deeply. It would feel immoral. But… there’s nothing impossible about sinning. ELDEWYN: Fascinating, indeed. I never thought about it… Interesting creatures lunar priests! KYRIE: We’re not animals— ASTER: Well! How about that specialty brew you’ve been saving? ELDEWYN: Ah, yes! Let us retire to the parlor. We’ll be more comfortable there. KYRIE: If you don’t mind, I just need to step out a moment… ELDEWYN: Oh, of course, Your Grace. INDRYR: Are you feeling well, Your Grace? KYRIE: Yeah, it’s… I’m fine. INDRYR: Forgive my saying so, but you seem somewhat put-off. KYRIE: It’s alright. I don’t… mind. KYRIE: I think sometimes I feel a bit like a circus act… Maybe I am. INDRYR: Your gifts are unique. And specialness is strange, but not all of us think so shallowly. I understand perfectly well how it feels to be the odd piece out, but you’re no less part of the puzzle. You’ll find your place to fit, and it won’t be here with people like that. KYRIE: Thank you, Indryr, for saying so. INDRYR: No need to thank me. It’s simply what’s true. The Duke has a very… interesting perception. I wondered what sort of society might support the trials in their former iteration. Meeting him, well, it becomes clearer to me. KYRIE: I think there’d be more than a few happy to see the tradition return to the way it was. A sick sense of excitement… It doesn’t matter. I guess I’m more bothered by the idea that my predecessor might have been involved in what happened twenty years ago. You were right. If this was a cover up, the priest heading the ceremony must have allowed for it. INDRYR: I don’t think we can deny it anymore, Your Grace. KYRIE: No, but I do think there’s more to the story. Whether or not the Duke knows, is another question entirely. INDRYR: We could use the scroll? KYRIE: Yes, but it’s not without its risks. I suppose then we must decide… is it worth trying, regardless of the consequences?

ELDEWYN: Well now, this is quite quaint, indeed! Tell me, how do you find the games thus far? INDRYR: Certainly trying. ASTER: I’ll say! I’ve been nearly mauled to death by giant serpents, thrown off bridges, and murdered by a Necro— KYRIE: Aster! Is one of our more resourceful competitors. ELDEWYN: Ah, yes, that’s right. Half-elf is it? Pity. Those without magic often struggle during trials. Now that I think of it, I can’t remember a winner that wasn’t attune to the arcane… INDRYR: An interesting point. One must wonder if the games favor those with magic, why the Moon selects those unafflicted. ASTER: The answer is obvious, of course! It’s our boundless charm and sage wisdom! LUCIEN: giggles INDRYR: Sage wisdom, you say? KYRIE: It isn’t true that there have been no past winners who weren’t magic users. ELDEWYN: Quite right, quite right you are, Your Grace. There have been ample warriors of all sorts who have won in the past. I find my memory fails me in my old age. ASTER: You ought to have more wine, my lord! Nothing helps loosen my memory like a few glasses of savory spirits! INDRYR: I think that is the opposite of the solution… ELDEWYN: Ahaha! I like your style, Master Bard. Well, this is a celebratory affair, after all. I’ll have the maids bring in some special brews I’ve had stowed away for just the occasion. I’m a bit of a collector, you know. ASTER: And I’m a connoisseur! KYRIE: whispers They’re getting on famously. INDRYR: Perhaps Your Grace chose too well. KYRIE: Ah…

SARAYN: Someone is coming. ÅSE: Hm? Guards again? We fight? SARAYN: We should leave quietly while we still can. ÅSE: They will see fire. They will know we are here. GUARD: We are already well aware you are here. It seems those of the darkwood still do not know their place. SARAYN: On the contrary; the arrogance of high elves is as renown as your skill. GUARD: Tch. I did not think the bastard’s following was so… diverse. Seems we’ve underestimated him. No matter. You will meet the same end as your ill-fated master. ÅSE: The portal! We go! EIRA: Åse! ÅSE: Witcher? What is this? You are in past now, too? Where are guards? TALILA: Guards? EIRA: You’re back now, thank the stars. THERION: Lord Tev’us! INDRYR: You’ve been shot. SARAYN: It’s just the shoulder… ÅSE: … EVE: Come and sit, let me see the wound. SARAYN: Don’t be foolish. We both know the last thing you’d enjoy is saving my life again. I am well enough. Take the banner and I’ll show myself to the clerics. EVE: You’re right. I don’t owe you any kindness. But unlike you, I don’t need a reason to act with compassion. Sit down or I shall make you. SARAYN: … My lady. EVE: Brace yourself, but I must remove the arrow, first. ASTER: Make sure to yank nice and slow, I hear that helps. TALILA: Oh! Aster… EIRA: What happened back there, anyways? ÅSE: It is… strange story. I shall tell you later at tavern. EVE: Are you well? SARAYN: I am. Thank you, my lady. EVE: Mm. SARAYN: The banner. Please, take it. EVE: You did not seem quite as willing before. What has changed? SARAYN: I should accept that I’ve been beaten. Surely it will not aid me to cross my lady further. EVE: laughing No, it won’t. TALILA: Ah! Look there! ASTER: A fox? TALILA: A think we’re meant to follow it. INDRYR: It must be showing us the way out.  THERION: You really alright? SARAYN: I am. THERION: Heh. Battlewounds make nice trophies. Embrace your new scars. SARAYN: Yes, they will be good reminders.

INDRYR: The Art of Heavy Lifting… You’re reading books about physical training? Isn’t that a bit… TAIYO: Well, I’m sure there’s a proper way to go about it. We’ve got to learn somehow. INDRYR: Right… Anyways, as interesting as that doesn’t sound, the temple’s library is exceedingly well-equipped. I’ve found it has a great abundance of books on skills and professions. In fact, a vast catalogue of horticulture manuals, but a distinct lack of historical texts. I think it odd, if I’m honest. SARAYN: You’d be better served searching the Mage Spire for such texts. INDRYR: The spire? But outsiders don’t have access to that. SARAYN: They can… if one only knows how to bargain well enough. INDRYR: Hm. Perhaps I should check out books on haggling. TAIYO: What sort of histories are you interested in, Indryr? INDRYR: Hm? Oh. Rather specifically, archives on past Selenehelions, but it’s all kept quite hush hush. I don’t suppose you came across any while there? SARAYN: Seems we have a similar interest. Though, I don’t think we will have any luck stumbling upon such knowledge accidentally, even if we are adept at negotiations. Indeed, I find the clergy has gone out of their way to bury such things. And I do mean that most literally. TAIYO: You’re talking about the tomb? INDRYR: Tomb? SARAYN: In the crypts beneath the temple there is buried one, a most curious Castien Thallan. INDRYR: I’ve not heard the name before. SARAYN: Nor had I, prior to seeing it engraved upon his tomb. Imagine my surprise while on my unplanned jaunt in the past, I saw his final moments. He was once Chosen, but his was killed— as it would appear— not by his competitors. But by royal guards. TAIYO: Quiet, keep your voice down. INDRYR: That is curious. The crown interfering in the ceremony? Fascinating. TAIYO: Oh! Both of you quiet now, His Grace is coming. KYRIE: Good morning. Hosting book club, mayhaps? TAIYO: We were just, um, reading about… manual labor. KYRIE: How peculiar. TAIYO: Ah, yes… KYRIE: Excuse my asking but, none of you happened to see Tayuin today, have you? TAIYO: I haven’t. Is there something the matter? KYRIE: No, no… I expect he’s avoiding me. Anyways, I’ll keep searching. Do carry on. Oh, Indryr? INDRYR: Your Grace? KYRIE: Could I speak with you a moment in private?

THERION: What good timing. You’re just the girl I was looking for. TALILA: My, that could mean all sorts of fun things! Tell me all about it. THERION: I was hoping you could help me with something. You got a minute? TALILA: I have lots of them! INDRYR: Is that my cue to get lost? THERION: Your words, not mine. But you know, if you spent less time cozying up with your plants and holding grudges, maybe we’d invite you around. INDRYR: Oh? Like they invite you around? I was under the impression you’d been excommunicated. Something about condoning homicide. THERION: coughs There’s more than a few people around here that have their knickers in a twist. INDRYR: I imagine you think I’m one of them. THERION: Something, something if the shoe fits. TALILA: Boys, please… THERION: Now look, you’ve made me act sassy in front of the lady. TALILA: giggling INDRYR: Heaven forbid. TALILA: Let’s meet up later, okay Indy? INDRYR: Mm. TAIYO: Indryr? INDRYR: Oh, Taiyo. TAIYO: Everything alright? You look a bit down.  INDRYR: All is well. At least, as well as can be expected. Perhaps, a bit homesick. TAIYO: Ah, understandable. It’s been nearly a month already. Hard to believe. INDRYR: On the other hand, a great deal has happened. Three weeks is a short time, after all. TAIYO: I expect even shorter for faeries or dragons. INDRYR: That is true. And you? You don’t speak much of home. TAIYO: It’s a beautiful place, but suppose I haven’t formed the attachments others might. It never felt much like a home to me. INDRYR: What a shame. TAIYO: Maybe. But then, staying in one place isn’t necessarily to one’s benefit. Anyways, Lord Tev’us and I were just about to meet up in the library, if you’d like to join us. INDRYR: The library? A welcome distraction, thank you.

TALILA: That one was my favorite! ASTER: laughs You say that about all of them. TALILA: Well, that’s because they’re all my favorite! ASTER: Don’t they have music back where you come from? TALILA: Of course we have music, silly. But not like this. ASTER: An absolute tragedy. TALILA: It will be so difficult to go back home. Maybe I should learn to play before I go. ASTER: Go back… Ah. That’s right. You’ll be wanting to return to your forests, I expect. TALILA: I’m sorry. I didn’t think before speaking. ASTER: What have you to apologize for? TALILA: I expect it must be hard to hear, when you don’t have a home to go back to. ASTER: Oh, that’s alright. You needn’t worry about me. ASTER: What was it… like there? TALILA: Green Isle? Oh, it’s just as you probably imagine. A gorgeous, secret little world. Safe, protected from the outside. It’s funny, my father used to tell me a great deal about the dangers beyond our island. It's not nearly as bad as he said! Though, it’s not easy to cross between realms. You could say, my ending up here was just a happy accident. But I’ve been away for some time… ASTER: You… miss your home a lot, then? TALILA: Yes, very much. This place is strange and beautiful, but… not where I intended to end up. I didn’t mind getting swept away. All the new places I’ve seen and people I’ve met, I don’t regret any of it. But I don’t belong here, after all. ASTER: You could. TALILA: Maybe. But, well, to leave my forests, my family… I don’t know. It’s a scary thought. ASTER: No, you’re right. And you shouldn’t give it up for a lot of nothing. TALILA: Ah… right. That’s… true… INDRYR: Am I interrupting? TALILA: Hi, Indy! Not at all! Did you come to dance? INDRYR: laughs Sorry, not exactly. I was wondering if I couldn’t enlist your help again. ASTER: Hm? INDRYR: Actually, both of you would be perfect for the task. I require a certain charm. Having a more diverse ensemble might prove advantageous. ASTER: Ha! I see smooth-talkers are in high demand these days. What do you say, Little Bloom? Shall we? TALILA: Another heist? Absolutely!

KYRIE: I wish I was calling you both here under better circumstances. It’s been nearly a week since the ten of you first entered the forest. Taiyo and Tayuin have spent much of that time here recovering. EVE: Recovering? KYRIE: Yes. While Indryr has known of Taiyo’s affliction, this is the first you’re hearing of it. Taiyo was hexed in the previous trial. The curse is unlike anything the clerics here have seen. In the forest, Taiyo lost control, spreading his curse to Tayuin. For a while, they seemed to be doing well. Despite the circumstances, they were very nearly improving. But last night, things took a turn for the worst. KYRIE: They’ve been unresponsive. They’re breathing, but neither will wake. I know there is likely little either of you can do, but please, if there’s anything at all you can think of… they seem to be getting worse by the hour. INDRYR: I may have a few remedies that could, perhaps, stabilize them for a time. But without a certain cure… KYRIE: I know. EVE: I’ll do what I can to help, but I don’t know that I can succeed where other clerics have failed. KYRIE: I just need a little time. EVE: Yes, alright. INDRYR: I’ll get to work. EVE: Kyrie, are you alright? KYRIE: I suppose that remains to be seen. I can’t let them die. EVE: What are you going to do? KYRIE: What I should have done in the first place.

INDRYR: Seems you’ve picked up a shadow. KYRIE: Please, forget about him. INDRYR: Already done. KYRIE: I wanted to ask you, well, I hate to keep coming to you for favors like this but your skills are really unmatched. INDRYR: My thanks. You’re free to ask, Your Grace. How can I help? KYRIE: I just wondered… there seems to be some kind of suppression… My visions, it’s as if something is blocking them. I know it’s a long shot, I imagine a problem like mine isn’t particularly common… INDRYR: In fact, your gifts aren’t common, my lord. There are few true seers in this world. Blessings from gods aren’t really within my abilities to repair. KYRIE: No, I expected not. INDRYR: However, I have some potions that help with focus. Who knows, maybe they’ll aid in your visions returning more swiftly. I imagine it makes your job more difficult when you can’t keep mental tabs on your charges. KYRIE: It’s not that I enjoy it— INDRYR: I meant no harm, Your Grace. We’ve proven a difficult bunch this year. Considering what has seemingly transpired in the past, it is within all of our best interests you be able to locate us. And see one way or another if any foul play has occurred. KYRIE: Foul play? INDRYR: Though, it only makes sense, if there was any such trouble in the past, well, the Lunar Priest presiding over the ceremony must have been complicit. Unless they, like you, suffered a most convenient blockage. KYRIE: I feel as if you know something I don’t. INDRYR: Not at all. I’ve only just heard it myself. But perhaps now isn’t the proper time to be speaking of it. Or… we shouldn’t speak of it at all. I’ll write to you of my findings and deliver it later with the potions you requested. Considering past encounters, maybe it’s best we start being more careful about how we share information. KYRIE: Understood. I’ll wait for the potions then.
