hans zimmer just dropped one of the full tracks from the *no time to die* score!

it’s called “matera” and it’s gorgeous, it’s SO BOND (and very casino royale!) and SO BEAUTIFULLY ZIMMER and the fact that this project is a bond/zimmer combo just makes me lose my mind every time i think about it. what are the odds two of my favorite things in the whole world would collide like this???? we stan hans zimmer in this household and i’m pretty sure i’m more excited for the score than the movie. the plot MAY disappoint, there’s always a chance - but the album? no way.

i’m a little bit disappointed in my man hans because the whole soundtrack including the title song is just 1 hour 11 minutes long. c’mon now.

also there’s too much “recycling” of interstellar / gladiator / pirates of the caribbean themes. hans are you running out of new melodies??????? 😱

not that those are bad, on the contrary they’re masterpieces and i’m in love with them, but I can hear them in NTTD and it’s throwing me off

thank you to the master hans zimmer who elevates every christopher nolan film to the success that it becomes. 

the suspense, the thrill, the chaos, and the heartbreak in inception are all told through music. otherwise we’d be depending on cobb’s squinty eyes and... yeah.

this is “en route” aka the sedation, aka boarding the plane for the fischer job. i always get chills right at the end!

INCEPTION 30 DAY CHALLENGE: FAVORITE SCORE

damn y’all. there’s a reason this is called a challenge. how can you pick just one?

after much thought i have settled on this gem:

the buildup in the first minute reminds me of the incredible work mr. zimmer did on the dark knight trilogy. 

at this point in inception - even if you were so confused by the plot the entire time - you understand the need for the team to get out. you understand they’re three levels deep, you understand they need to wake up, you understand that this has to be a success for cobb to see his kids again. and the 528491 track drives you to the edge of your seat. 

not only is fischer ACTUALLY INCEPTED (*gasp* it worked!!!!!!) but eames WITNESSES IT 

meanwhile arthur is crouched in the corner of an elevator hoping to god his improvised kick works and that his boyfriend eames opens his eyes and that it coincides with the van hitting the water and IT’S ALL JUST SO THRILLING

with all due respect to the actors (yes, including tommy!bane's teardrops) we just wouldn't cry without zimmer's music

we wouldn't get goosebumps

nolan hands the entire movie to zimmer at some points.

the batman trilogy is nowhere without zimmer. he's a genius. 

i was a zimmer fan before i discovered nolan, before i'd heard of much of his cast

i was like 12 and i'd go buy soundtracks to movies he scored without watching them

i still do that. there are tracks on my ipod from movies i've never seen!
