"Change" That was the the prompt for the January @getsketchbox. The change of seasons came to my mind. Nature awakens anew after it's slumber under its blanket of snow. Even if that blanket was very thin this year where I live. It was very interesting to work with @derwentartofficial Inktense products. The colours were intense and beautiful, almost too bright for my taste. The only issue I had was the @princetonbrush lunar blender. I have other brushes from their select series, but this has a mix of too diffrent types of bristles and the white ones were stiff and not evenly cut. Nicknamed ‘Williams’ by the little nephew, this elk was munching tasty foliage around the place where we stayed in the Grand Teton Mountains, Wyoming. Not sure where the nickname came from. Perhaps something he read. This particular elk had protective fuzzy material on his antlers as they were still growing.

My next test is using Derwent Inktense pencils. In theory it sounds great. Draw on, blend and shade as you go, apply water, and once dry you have a permanent finish. For my needs, I found the pencils a bit hard. They dragged the fabric, which also made the application process quite slow. Once I added the water there was quite a lot of bleeding. If I was working on a sculpture with them, that kind of unpredictability would be very unnerving. It did dry back well, and the colour bleed almost disappeared. Though it didn't adhere very well to the printed finish on the fabric. You can see that white patch, which I had coloured over, is now showing through again.
