Inktober 2023, The Magnus Archives Edition - finished with the last part, prompts 30 and 31, both so season-5-style plot heavy.
*wipes brow* what a challenge! You can find all previous ones on my blog. I will probably compile them later for neatness~

Woah it’s my first inktober tale post, only several days late!
I’ve been at a convention so I haven’t had much time to myself…
Also I arbitrarily decided I’m doing all of my pieces this year with CYMK colour scheme… we’ll see how that goes lol.
The prompt list was made by comyet and is as follows (I’m using the shorter list this year):

TwstOber 14: Red
14: Red
Eyes of red blazed in the darkness, cold and unfeeling. Well, that last part wasn’t true.
There was one emotion burning in his eyes; rage.
Pure fury that sucked all the color from his world except for one; red.
Lilia was seeing red now as he watched the memory play out before him.
Lilia had attended his first year of NRC with Malleus and had come home from winter break to visit his son, who wouldn’t be old enough to join them for another year.
However, when Lilia returned, he found his home in disarray, the door smashed in, and the inside destroyed. More importantly, he found his son missing.
Fearing the worst, Lilia had searched the house, doing more damage than the intruders had as he searched for any sign of his boy, but there was nothing.
All Lilia found was a dagger impaled on the kitchen table as if awaiting for his return.
Feeling the dagger held the answers to his son’s whereabouts, Lilia used his unique magic and saw what had happened;
A fae—one he recognized from his days of battle—hammered the door down, followed by beast men, all in armor. They quickly overpowered Silver—by powers and numbers--then bound him with ropes before dragging the teen away, even as he struggled against them.
Lilia snarled, baring his fangs as he gripped the dagger, his body shaking with fury.
They took Silver. They took his son.
“Do come see us soon,” The fae taunted in the memory as they impaled the dagger into the table. “We’ll keep your boy—entertained till you do. Or rather, he’ll be entertaining us.”
The vision ended, and within seconds, everything became red.
