AU Masterlist below cut

a lot of these don’t have a lot of posts because i keep making new ones instead of expanding on old ideas. apologies

WEREWOLF AU | the demon slayers are all werewolves. they’re turned after final selection, so inosuke’s a bit late to the wolf game. the story is otherwise largely unchanged.

SON OF THE SUN AU | kamado swap where nezuko is the demon slayer and tanjirou is the demon. the story is very different from canon and still very tanjirou-centric.

DRAGON AU | the demon slayers (and some of the demons) are dragons. not a lot of other thoughts, i mostly made this au to come up with dragon designs

ANCIENT SUN AU | yoriichi was turned into a demon by muzan way back in the day, but it didn’t really work out for muzan and now yoriichi has dedicated the rest of his immortal life to hunting down the demon king. also he runs into tanjirou at some point and shenanigans happen. this au is mostly an excuse for yoriichi-tanjirou interactions.

SUN HASHIRA + TSUGUKO AU | a huge roleswap au where most of the kids are adults and most of the adults are kids, various other switches happen, and the demons are . mostly unchanged because i kinda care less about them lmao. tanjirou is the sun hashira and giyuu is his tsuguko. also sabito lives as a demon

UROKODAKI’S FOXES | all of urokodaki’s students wear fox masks to honor their teacher. they also confuse all the other slayers. sabito and makomo live in this

MODERN AU | demon slayer takes place in 20XX instead of 1915.

HERE AGAIN AU | combination modern and reincarnation au. the events of demon slayer happen in 20XX, but also they happened a century or so ago and a handful of characters remember what happened last time.

STRANGE SENSATIONS | au inspired by the five senses fic. the final selection crew meet and team up during final selection and it eventually turns into a fix it (read it here!)

COME MORNING | demon slayer takes place over the course of six years instead of three. nezuko turns back into a human without much fanfare and wakes up to find her brother is now 19 instead of 13, as he was when she last saw him.

TANJIROU AND KOKUSHIBOU ON A ROAD TRIP TOGETHER | furious that tanjirou and kokushibou never got to meet so here’s them doing that and also kokushibou maybe defecting because of it

BNHA CROSSOVER | kny takes place in the distant past of bnha and bnha takes place in the distant future of kny. through . probably demon blood art shenanigans, tanjirou (later joined by others) winds up in the future and shenanigans happen.

DRAGON AGE AU | demon slayer characters and story roughly transposed into the world of thedas. i’m not sure how everything translates, but the demon slayer corps are either just the grey wardens or a special division within the grey wardens

DEMONSWAP AU | with a few exceptions, all of the demons are humans and all of the humans are demons. nezuko is a demon slayer being trained by the ice hashira, douma. she doesn’t know that her brother’s alive nor that he’s a demon. tanjirou is a demon who’s been taken in by the demon moon, tomioka giyuu. he doesn’t remember anything from when he was a human

MONSTER MASH | the demon slayer corps is made up of a bunch of monsters instead of humans! this au is mostly an excuse for fun cool designs and worldbuilding. lowkey, that's kind of it. some characters (namely the demons and the kamados) are still human

Chapter Five

“So this is your grandmother's restaurant huh?” Tanjiro said, picking at a hangnail on his index finger.

“Yeah, but she’s not actually my grandmother,” Inosuke said as he leaned back comfortably into the seat of the plush booth.

Tanjiro and Zenitsu’s eyes widened at Inosukes words.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Zenitsu asked.

“Well my mom had me when she was only a teenager, and her parents weren’t very happy so they kicked her out. After that, she went to live with my bio dad, but it turns out that he’s a huge asshole so she ran away. That's when she met Hisa, who took care of her.”

“Oh.”

“Damn… Sucks,” Zenitsu said, a blank expression on his face. Tanjiro gave him a side eye that turned into a slight glare before speaking.

“Zenitsu, why would you say that!” Tanjiro whispered loudly as he chopped Zenitsu across the head.

“Come on man, what the hell are you supposed to say to that!”

“Anything less incentive!” He gets ready for another swing at the back of Zenitsu’s head again but halts as the waiter appears.

“Hello I’m Fuku and I’ll be your server today. Can I start you all off with some drinks?” She speaks in a soft tone; holding a notepad in hand.

“I'll have a water thank you,” Tanjiro spoke first

“Green ice tea thanks,” Inosuke told the waiter.

“I’ll take Sprite please,” Zenitsu asked last.

“Alright, would you like to place your meals now or do you need more time?” Fuku wrote down each drink before looking up at the boys.

“Well I’m ready but do either of you need some more time to think it over?” Tanjiro asked, a gentle smile on his face.

“I’m all good”

“Yea, same here,”

“Okay, then can we start with you?” Fuku pointed her pen at Tanjiro.

“I'll have the kakuni and nikujaga,” Tanjiro said as if he had ordered his choice millions of times before.

“I want enoki mushrooms and could you add miso soup, also shrimp tempura,”

“Yeah of course…, and for you?” Fuku nods and then points her pen toward Zenitsu.

“Can I get this soy-glazed eggplant donburi?” Zenitsu says as he points at the item on the menu.

“So we have water with kakuni and nikujaga, green ice tea with enoki mushrooms with a side of miso soup and shrimp tempura and lastly a sprite with soy glazed eggplant donburi?"

They all gave nods indicating she got in all right.

“Alright, I'll get that all to you guys shortly,” She nodded and walked off.

They made short conversation about their days, but every so often Inosuke would catch Tanjiro’s eyes, and feel his heartbeat a little faster.

“Here is your food. Let me know if you need anything.” She hands the group their plates, bowls, and drinks from her two trays.

“Itadakimasu!”

As they finished up their food and they said their farewells to Zenitsu for he said he had to go off and do something. Inosuke couldn’t help but sneak fleeting glances at Tanjiro. It seemed to him that his eyes were drifting over to the red-headed boy.

“Are you okay? Inosuke you’ve been a bit quiet today,” Tanjiro asked, His eyebrows furrowed in concern.

Warmth flooded Inosuke’s face and he quickly turned to face away from Tanjiro, speeding up to walk ahead of him.

“Hey wait, please don’t start running again,” Tanjiro called out, reaching forward to grab Inosuke’s wrist.

“Ah- let go!” Inosuke quickly jerked away from Tanjiro and clenched his chest tightly. His heart was thumping wildly and he felt like it would jump right out of his chest.

Tanjiro took a step forward and pressed his hand to Inosukes cheek and forehead. Holding them in place before taking his other hand to feel his own.

“W-what the hell are you doing?”

“Inosuke you have a fever, you’re burning up!” Tanjiro said, his voice raised slightly and his face laced with concern.

“Huh?” A wave of fatigue washed over Inosuke and he felt his eyelids grow heavy. His chest heaved roughly as he held his arm out against Tanjiro as he tried to steady himself.

“We have to get you to a doctor, just hold on okay,” Tanjiro said, pulling him up over his shoulder.

“No- I’ll be fine okay, just not… there.” Inosuke slumped over onto Tanjiro’s shoulder and his sweat beaded on his pale forehead. Inosuke’s chest heaved as he let out shallow breaths.

Tanjiro took a deep breath, this is what he was preparing for, he told himself. He could take care of a sick person. It's one of the things he grew up doing. Having as many young siblings as he did along with his major.

“Okay just hold on Inosuke, my place isn’t that far from here,” Tanjiro said as he tried to steady Inosuke on his feet. When they got to the apartment complex Tanjiro mentally cursed himself for picking an apartment on the third floor.

“Inosuke just hold on okay,” Tanjiro adjusted Inosuke over his shoulders and started his trek up the three flights of stairs. As Tajiro guided Inosuke to lie down he thanked his past self for changing his sheets this morning. It had been a real pain to wake up early this morning since he skipped wash day. But It’s nice that it turned out this way or he would've had to waste time pulling out a futon.

“Just stay here okay, I’ll be right back,” Tanjiro rushed out of the room, to get a clean rag and wet it with cold water. He returned to his room where he gently placed it on Inosuke’s head and pulled a thick blanket over his body, making sure his feet were fully covered and a draft wasn’t going to get to them.

“Are your feet still cold?”

“They feel like they’re going to freeze off,” Inosuke said, shivering under the cover. Tanjiro pulled out another blanket from his closet and placed it over Inosuke.

“Get some rest okay, I’m going to make you something to eat okay,” Tanjiro said, tenderly tucking the blanket under Inosuke’s chin.

Tanjiro looked behind him to see Inosuke quickly drifting off to sleep. A small smile rested on his face before he quietly shut the door and walked to the small kitchen of the apartment.

Welp, I certainly can’t cook like my mother but I’m pretty average; I can at least not screw up oyaku. Tanjiro thought while he rolled up his sleeves and put on an apron.

As he washed the rice and set it to a boil his mind drifted to Inosuke. He should’ve done something more to prevent him from getting sick, he was training to be a doctor for god’s sake and he couldn’t even keep his friend from catching a cold.

He had to have brought a jacket or a coat of some sort. He should've gone back for it or something, if only his legs were a little faster he could’ve caught Inosuke before he ran half a mile in the chilly November air.

Maybe I should call his mother, but I don't want to wake up Inosuke just to ask for his mom’s number, he needs his rest. Tanjiro slowly stirred the fluffy rice.

Pulling him out of his thoughts, the jingling of keys in the door. He was surprised when he and Inosuke arrived Zenitsu wasn‘t already at home.

“Hey Zenitsu, welcome back!” Tanjiro said not to look up from the pot as he added miso and chicken stock to the boiled rice.

“AH- um Tanjiro I didn't know you’d be home, I thought you and the feral one were heading back to campus,” Zenitsu said as he wrung his hands together and bounced his leg vigorously.

“Why are you standing in the doorway like a weirdo, just coming in already letting out all the good heat,” Tanjiro said as he looked out. Behind Zenitsu, who seemed to be sweating profusely, Tanjiro could see a peak of black hair.

Curiously Tanjiro moved away from the stove to get a better look and to his surprise met eyes with no other but his younger sister Nezuko.

“Oh. What are you doing here Nezuko?” Tanjiro asked as They finally slipped their shoes off and closed the door behind them.

“Well I was just was, how do I, was out and then um just happened to run into each other l-like somehow and just like that just like bam walking and talking and talking and walking and and and you know and and an um I I i- anyways” Zenitsu stuttered out; His hands moving in sporadic motions as he babbled about.

“I’m tired of tip-toeing around. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and I are dating.” Nezuko said, stepping forward and grabbing Zenitsu’s hand.

“Ohhh okay…” Tanjiro said before he stepped back to his rice porridge on the stove.

“Can’t you say anything else?!” Zenitsu said.

“Um, How long have you two been together?”

“Maybe about a month or two,” Nezuko answered.

“SO you aren't mad or anything are you?” Zenitsu asked,a drop of sweat dripping down from underneath his bangs.

“No, but you two mean a lot to me so treat each other right okay,” Tanjiro said, a pang of sadness shooting through his heart. He would hate it if Nezuko and Zenitsu ended up like him and Kanao. They didn’t end on the worst of terms, but breaking up with someone who you thought might be your forever…

It hurt all the same.

“I’m happy for you guys,” Tanjiro looked at the both of them for a moment with a smile.

“Alright then…what are you making?” Nezuko tilted her head to glance at her brother's cooking.

“Oyaku,” Tanjiro smiled. Nezuko quickly came in beside him and reached for an apron in a drawer.

"Who’s that?” Nezuko looked at Inosuke walking out of Tanjiro’s room. His face is slightly red and shining with sweat and he leaned on the doorframe.

“Oh did you bring someone over,how scandalous.” Zenitsu didn't bother to turn to look at the person. Making an effort to wiggle his brows at Tanjiro.

“What are you even talking about?” Tanjiro looked at Zenitsu with a glare but turning to see Inosuke his gaze softened. Setting aside the food he prepared for it to cool down he walked over to the sick boy.

“What are you doing up? I told you to rest.” Tanjiro placed his hands gently on his shoulders.

“I ran out of water.”

“Oh, I'll get you another one.”

“Thanks” Inosuke muttered before walking back into the room.

“What happened with the feral one?” he pointed to the empty door entrance.

“He has a fever.” Tanjiro grabbed a water bottle from the fridge and sticking the oyaku inside as he talked.

“How did that happen? He was fine like an hour ago.”

“Running in the cold without a jacket will do that.” He grabbed the cold bottle and walked into his room where the boy lay peacefully in the blankets.

Tanjiro walked quietly into his room, the bottle of water. Inosuke turned slowly to the door and saw Tanjiro holding water. He sat up and let the cover fall down to his waist. Tanjiro handed the stuff he had in his hands carefully.

“Thanks…again.” grabbing what he was giving with shaky hands.

“After you eat, get some more rest” Inosuke nodded and watched as Tanjiro wet the rag that had once been on Inosuke’s head.

“Where are you going to sleep?”

“On the couch” he shrugged.

Inosuke chugged the bottle of water like he had been on a deserted island and weakly wiped his mouth. He placed the bottle on the bedside table and laid back down. Tanjiro has sweat drip down his big ass forehead as he watches the ordeal.

“I’ll check up on you later, get some rest.”

“Thanks… Tanjiro,” Inosuke said before he drifted off to sleep.

Tanjiro held a small smile as Inosuke drifted into unconsciousness, he walked out of the room, closing the door close behind him lightly. He looked over to his sister and roommate coddled up on the couch he planned to sleep on. He watched them enjoy a conversation he wasn’t really trying to listen to.

“I plan to sleep on that couch so try to keep all your liquid in your body,” Tanjiro spoke in a flat tone as he walked back into the kitchen to get something to eat for himself.

My mind is a soup of KNY, RWBY & Parahumans, so...

RWBY AU

Salem’s still the main villain, Muzan’s one of her enforcers.

Yoriichi is combined with Tanjuro here, making him T&N’s father, a SEW (ofc) and the Summer Rose equivalent.

Used to be on a team w/ Michikatsu, Gyomei, and Tamayo, w/ Shinjuro, Amane & their team being their seniors.

Nezuko inherited his Silver eyes, Tanjiro just inherited his looks, birthmark, earrings, and a whole host of father issues.

The Kamados (just Yoriichi, Tanjiro, Nezuko & Kie) are Caprinae faunus, w/ Kie, Tanjiro & Hinatsuru (Kie’s little sister) being Argali sheep, and Nezuko somehow coming out a Himalayan Tahr.

Michikatsu is transfem and Mui/Yui’s deadbeat mom.

Inosuke is a boar faunus whose trait is his ears, thus leaving him a pretty boy, to his own dismay.

Tanjiro, Inosuke, Kanao & Zenitsu are on a team. Zenitsu leads. You did not read that wrong.

Nezuko is on a team w/ Genya, Muichiro, and one of the Ubayashiki kids. Or Senjuro, who’s in a Jaune-like situation.

Giyuu (fox faunus), Sabito (hare faunus), Sanemi & Kanae were a team. Tengen and wives are a team. And Kyojuro, Mitsuri, Makomo & Shinobu were a team.

Obanai is ex-White Fang, and Nakime’s twin.

I have most of their semblances & weapons figured out, but they’ll be detailed in a separate post.

Parahumans AU

The less developed one by far, (though longer, ironically) still thinking up powers and triggers.

Muzan is a Master/Brute/Trump, with regeneration and the ability to enter “contracts” with Parahumans, enhancing their own power & regeneration in exchange for being able to kill them at will AND gain a crude copy of their power.

Kagaya is his cluster mate, a Thinker/Master who can discern someone’s beliefs and opinions through conversations, and a voice that both calms them and predisposes them into believing he has their best interest in mind.

Yoriichi is once again the Tanjirou & Nezuko’s dad, and served on the Sentai Elite w/ Michikatsu & Shinjuro.

He was basically Sun-themed Legend, powerful light based breaker state that eschewed lasers for solar flare abilities/whips, with a thinker power that allowed him to perceive the world in slow motion. This power had the caveat of the more people that looked up to him, the more powerful he was.

Kokushibou shared Yoriichi’s Thinker power, but was otherwise a Combat Tinker, specializing in miniaturized fusion powered devices such as a plasma cutter, a specialized combat suit, and a specialized training dummy.

Nezuko is a Brute/Striker/Trump, having the bog standard demon toughness and regeneration, alongside generating flames that could negate other Parahuman powers.

Tanjiro is a Brute/Thinker, who can perceive emotions as scents, along with generating a prismatic forcefield around him, parts of which could break off and explode. Gains a second Trigger which allows him to shape the forcefield into crude weaponry, alongside gaining a Master power that allowed his flames to perceive how his target’s hurt people, and turn said pain back on them.

Muichiro is a Breaker/Stranger/Shaker, who can dissipate into an amnesia inducing fog he can also manipulate and move through.

Shinobu is a Bio-Tinker, specializing in alchemical creations, specifically poisons and medicines, along with altering her own chemistry to become toxic, and devices meant to deliver them.

Sanemi is a Brute/Blaster, who by cutting open his skin kick starts aerokinesis that aerosolizes his blood into a disorienting gas, combined with a somewhat limited healing factor.

Genya is a Changer/Trump with some Brute characteristics, just tougher and with a healing factor, who by ingesting the flesh of others can take on their physical characteristics, including Parahuman abilities.

Inosuke is a Brute/Changer, rubbery body and flexible organs combined with a wereboar transformation that becomes more and more monstrous the longer he fights. Imagine Lung, but admittedly less powerful.
