Since we now know what Nicky was doing in the past few months and what he'll be doing in the next few years, I feel like it's good opportunity to recommend you one of the best fanfics I've ever read about him (and George).

George Russell, despite being the reigning Formula 2 chamption, does not have a regular license. He's not looking forward to his mandated lessons, until he meets his instructor. He might need a couple more hours to spend with this man. Good thing George completely forgets how to drive when he's around Nicky.

How red dead redemption series portraits change like not only in time in people too, like Abigail says: "there's men who change and men who are dumb." Like change itself is survival to a new curve life throws at you but also a chance to not only survive but get to ACTUALLY live a life you like.

That's also why most of their protagonist are tragic as well, they're inability to change despite having the chance time and time again and finally their past comes knocking down their doors.
