Tattoos and Trauma!

Funny, I'm getting a tattoo done - partial sleeve, partial cover-up. I was able to officially warn the artist that I'm narcoleptic, so if I pass out, it's nothing to worry about. And I'm on new meds, so I was hyper-active-chatty, then zonked, then started feeling sick and had to cut it short and go home. 😅 Well, it's a journey.

When I was fifteen, I "learned" that I was a bad person, and in an effort to check all the boxes and follow all the rules (so as not to go to hell), I made a written vow to God that I would never get more piercings, get a tattoo, drink, smoke, try any drugs, or have sex before marriage. Later, people blamed my parents, but they were agnostic.

Well, little one, I've done all the "bad" things. And whoever it whatever God is, I don't think they care. Or, of they have the capacity to care of an ant gets a picture drawn on them, maybe they're glad I'm a happy ant. I don't even like ants, but I would never punish one - not on purpose. (I have mass killed the spicy ones, when they posed a threat to my animals. I'm sorry. I they're very bitey and painful, especially for little dogs).

Anyway. Young me would be so horrified and relieved. Just like I'm horrified and relieved about a lot of things right now. And yes, it was trauma. Religeous themed OCD was my personal hell for over a decade.

I love clovers, luck, roses, butterflies (in incorrect order: comma, owl butterfly, long tailed skipper, eastern swallowtail, cabbage butterfly), bumble bees. I made a comparison to a bee at my mom's funeral. Her favorite flower was a crocus. I had a dream about the skull crocus after she died. It had a positive message, like a Death tarot card. I had a toy mouse tattoo when I worked with cats for several years, but I never liked the way it looked with my crocus. My dad collects rubber prank rats. They are black with red eyes. So, we're going in a new direction with the rat. I'm all marked up.
