A single-sail fishing boat coming up the mouth of the Gosthani River, at around noon, for anchorage, it catching an inshore wind.

Despite their seeming simplicity these boats are actually remarkably effective. I recall a memorable occasion on Bheemili Bay, at around dusk, when three fishermen nonchalantly stepped onto a single-sail RAFT riding in the shallow surf, and, catching an out-shore sea breeze, set out to the open sea, almost as if it were a casual outing!!!, they, having done this hundreds of times, such experts in wind behavior that it was almost like a man-made motor for them!!.

An exploratory event, that in the gathering dark would have filled a landlubber with trepidation, if not outright terror, was almost tame and trite for expert experienced them.

After night-fishing out at sea, they then catch another wind for the return trip home!!!

Talk about flair!!! fishing flair!!!
