Hey hey hey :D what's UPPP? I have very important request. So, the 'gang' as Brett likes to call them, x reader. (Inside job x reader) Now, the reader is like, really sleepy. Sleeps all day everyday. I need the reader to be a clingy sleeper. I also low-key want the reader to like, invent a cloud he can sleep on. Like it's a real fucking cloud, but he just sleeps on it.

He thinks it's really cute and will try to steal it from you. Not because he wants to be cheeky or mess with you, he's genuinely impressed you were able to make something that's like a real cloud.

Will join you to sleep on it, if you make room for him.

He's not one for bragging, but he will tell everyone at work about it, in or outside of the gang. He's just excited you made something like this.

Can't say he would get annoyed that you spend most of your time on it, but he can only make so many excuses to JR/the higher-ups.

Reagan

It's a bit of jealousy or pure impression for Reagan, she is extremely impressed but suprised in herself that she didn't think of it first.

Will join you in your cloud, and for the first time in her life, she sleeps well [/hj]

She pesters you on how you made it, and ngl, even if you don't tell her, she'll probably figure out how to make one.

Gigi

She thinks it's the most amazing thing you've made.

Unlike Brett, she WILL brag about it to anyone who listens.

She's so haughty about it that the gang kinda has to stop her, but, in the end, she's very proud of you.

Isn't the biggest fan of laying in the cloud with you, but will find you in goofy poses to take pictures of you in. She may or may not post about it depending on how much you care.

Myc

Honestly, I don't know how much Myc would like the cloud.

He would probably find it weird.

Cue forward to a couple of weeks later when he gets high as shit and is floating around with you, fast asleep.

The gang would be like "Where the hell are Myc and [Y/n]" and boom, you two are conked out on the cloud.

Andre

Like Myc, he's going to get high as hell on your cloud.

If you three ever go missing, the rest of the gang has a pretty good idea of where you went.

He's obsessed with the cloud ngl.

So you have been Reagan’s partner for few weeks. Things are going smooth. She’s being very shy but you are quite the opposite. You just have to tell her how much you love her and her creations

At first she thought you were joking, she never really got any compliments on her work so she just wasn’t used to it.

But the positive comments just kept coming and coming until it broke her.

One day as she was fixing the mixer, you sat down next to her and watched with pure excitement.

“Damn Reagan. You are actually so talented- if my mixer broke I would just buy a new one but you? You are just trying to fix it. It’s so cute and awesome <3” you said with smile on you face.

Suddenly she stopped working and a quiet sob was coming from her.

You looked her face. She was crying. Still staring at that broken mixer with tears in her eyes. You panicked at that moment.

“What?! What’s wrong hun? Did you mess up? That’s ok we can just buy-“

“Nobody ever compliments my work reader” she didn’t let you even finish your sentence.

She set down all of her tools and sat on the cold kitchen floor. Head facing the floor.

Your heart broke at that moment. She doesn’t deserve any of this. All she deserves is love and endless support.

You sat down right in front of her, you hand reached her cheek. You cupped her soft cheek, stroking it slowly with your thumb. She leaned into your touch.

You two stayed like this for few moments until Reagan decided to sit in your lap. Her poor thin body was shaking.

You didn’t say anything, in fact you decided to speak with your action.

You wrapped your arms around her, putting her even closer to you.

She started sobbing again as she leaned her head into your neck.

“I’m so sorry my love that you had to go though all of this. I truly hope your work would be more appreciated.”

Your hand started stroking her back. She continued sobbing into your neck.

“I’m just,, so lucky to have you as my girlfriend. You are literally the most talented person I know. You can turn nothing into something-“

Your other hand reached her head, fingers massaging the skin. You still could hear sobs.

“I adore your creations Reagan. You inspire me to create as well. I drew a prototype for a new drone the other day”

At that the sobbing stopped. Reagan raised her head and looked directly into your eyes. That was pretty rare on it’s on considering she’s very anxious.

“Y-you mean that?”

You gave her a big loving smile.

“Yeah! Haha I love you your work just as much as I love you. And that’s a lot!!”

She couldn’t hold back her smile, you could see that.

“Don’t worry. I’m so bad with technology and programming that every you make is amazing in my eyes. “

“S-stop” she laughed.

“And don’t get me started on how pretty you are-“

“Stop!” She laughed even more. She pressed her forehead against yours.

You really just took the opportunity and went ahead to kiss her. She’s didn’t protest. She just let go of everything. You could feel her stress leaving though her lips.

You two broke apart for air. Your bodies were pressed together, in one warm embrace.

She pressed a little kiss on your cheek as a thank you. In response you pressed her even closer to you. Trying to breathe in her scent.

**He first noticed it during the comedown periods after panic attacks. He'd get all floaty and ditzy for a bit. Brought it up with his therapist. They recommended looking into age regression and to see if he could potentially use it beneficially. - Sure, why not. Initially just got himself some adult coloring books and markers and started watching kids shows while he found his way back into a stable headspace. - It, eventually, did escalate. Namely with his regression being triggered at cognito, being the first time that had ever happened with someone else (Andre and Reagan) present.

He no longer struggles as much with accepting that side of himself. It's just the way he is. He's an adult, who sometimes just isn't. And that's okay. - **It's become more peaceful as well, no longer being exclusively triggered by panic attacks but also now being somewhat voluntary to de-escalate in certain situations.

His age range is both broad and hard to pinpoint! So he'll be sitting with a pacifier and a plushie...watching or doing something entirely not toddler appropriate!

He likes chewlery, teethers & pacifiers at any age! Though, he does have a general preference for chewlery!

Is really into just watching people, especially Reagan!! (she's still nervous about having the kid in her lab though, she doesn't like children, they are sticky…)

Definitely a little displaced in time, prefers 80s nostalgia over his actual 90s childhood

Loves to learn, anything and everything, bothering people with 2nd grade level fun facts is considered an activity for him

Fidgety. Never stops moving. His energy levels seem to somehow increase !? Loves outdoor play when he succeeds in pestering someone long enough to actually play with him!

Tends to float more around middle-space, at about 10-12!

The one thing he kept from his actual childhood is a yellow puppy luvvie,, it's still in pretty good shape and he's often toting it with him around the house!

Overall I think he's really just the sweetest little kid. He needs a fair amount of reassurance from those watching him that he, in fact, is not being too much or annoying. And they, IN FACT, are doing this because they love him and want to see him happy!!

**He does have his moments, not surprisingly. He's not always a happy camper when small, especially if negatively triggered. Sometimes it's a bit of a gamble if he'll come up from an episode and stay in his adult headspace, slip under and relax, or if you're gonna have an especially teary and clingy kiddo.

The gang loves him. Reagan would commit unspeakable atrocities for this kid. Gigi just wants to shower him in prezzies from rich auntie! Andre and Myc are..questionable babysitters...but nothing has happened yet! (because no one lets them babysit.) And Glenn has to be verbally whacked on occasion - no, Mr Dolphman, Brett does not want to learn how to [insert strange dolphin surgery veteran activity] !!!

I don't think that Cognito, Inc would tolerate any sort of hate toward anyone based on who they are or etc, but it's going to happen, so obviously there'd be some sort of issue.

Reagan

Oh boy, the second she figures or you tell her that you're trans, and that you were getting misgendered, she gets extremely upset.

I feel that Reagan is on the trans spectrum, [my own hc being that she uses she/they and would consider herself nonbinary] so she understands a bit what's going on.

She doesn't allow any sort of transphobia at Cognito, Inc, so she'll have you tell her who said something to you.

If it's a lot of people, even if they aren't doing it on purpose, she'll either take it up to JR or take it upon herself to make pins or lanyards with everyone's name and pronouns.

She's very pushy about this. She's not going to allow anyone to further misgender you, on purpose or not.

If she does find anyone doing it on purpose, they're either going to get fired or yelled at. Or both.

Brett

Brett's going to be one of those people who when he meets you, and you tell him that you're trans, he's going to be like, "Oh really, I thought you were like, a cis guy."

Brett grew up in what I think is a very religious, conservative family, but living in DC, it's very hard to not run into queer or trans people, so he's going to learn a lot very quickly.

He's like Reagan where he will not allow anyone to misgender you.

As you two get closer, he might ask you some questions, to understand better what it does mean to be trans, but he's just curious and wants to help.

Glenn

Uh, he might be one of the people misgendering you.

He would be one of the people to say that "In my time-"

There may or may not have to be an intervention.

I feel like even though he's a dick if he's explained things and is sat down and talked to, he'll understand more.

Also, he might get threatened to be fired so that helps.

He might misgender you here and there, but he will try.

Gigi

She upon meeting you might misgender you once, but after you correct her, never again.

She's like Reagan where she won't let anyone misgender you.

She's literally the #1 ally over here.

If you have issues with anyone or anything you go to her and she fixes it within minutes. No one messes with you. Or her.

Andre

Bro, he's high as shit when you first meet so he might or might not misgender you. He apologizes profusely though, and he does mean it, the dude feels bad.

When he gets closer to you, he will help you transition.

The dude would literally make you your HRT.

If you come to him saying that you're getting misgendered by someone else, he might not be the best at confrontation, but he will have the rest of the gang help him out.

Myc

He's literally a talking mushroom.

When you come out to him when you first meet, he's like "Cool".

I don't think talking mushrooms necessarily have a concept of gender, so he rolls with it.

But since he lives around humans, he has some concepts and after talking to him about it, he understands a lot more.

If he finds out that anyone is misgendering you, he's not going to be very nice. He will retaliate, and what is that person going to do? Nothing. Myc's not going to get fired for giving it to someone, he's like, [to our knowledge] the only mushroom there.

Throughout Light and Dark

Throughout their journey between worlds Yoru and Vani tend to talk about the similarities and differences, between them as creatures made from darkness. Especially one from the ancient past, and the current present. This is just one of em.

"The kinda smell... That smells... Smelly."

As promised! Some levity after the last few angsty snippets seen here and here.

Scent,

"I can tell you're making faces over there. If you have something to say, say it." Yoruhua says, not looking up from behind their delicious paste.

"...You smell different." Comes Vanitas' voice across from them.

Yoruhua stops mid bite, putting down their treat on oily crumpled paper. Chewing thoughtfully before responding,

"... I suppose I do, yes."

Suddenly aware of it, their thick smoky copal replaces the tasty scent of meaty, buttery puff pastries. Slightly disappointing her. But its Vanitas' own growing burnt palm sugar and rancid iron almost fully kills their appetite.

Vanitas glares at her for a second, still refusing to eat his own meal. The uneaten fluffy white rice in sharp contrast with the black beans and minced meat.

'His food is going to get cold.' Yoruhua muses.

Still, he doesn't mind, if he doesn't want to eat, then he doesn't have to.

"You're supposed to tell me why," he gruffs.

She smirks, "and you're supposed to use your words, and actually ask."

Vanitas looks likes he's about to snap, but carefully takes a deep breath and gives in. The iron fades out leaving only the bitter aftertaste of charcoal in the back of her throat, "Fine. Why do you smell like the Heartless do, but differently? It's weird."

"Well, I'm not just some Heartless, so jot that down. And, you smell too,"

He flushes and snarls, "I-I know that."

She huffs, "sure you did, but regardless- you probably just can't tell since you're not used to actively using it, so it's weakened." She says, "But, I guess it's because I kept my physical form. Unlike the rest of the Homunculi- eh, that's the other original Darknesses- I'm still me, well, not me exactly. But this... Body, you see, still remains from when I was a singular being."

At Vanitas' annoyed look and re-worsening scent, Yoruhua grimaces and tries to elaborate,

"Ah... So, the others all... Blended into one another, without a body to keep them separated. Souls and hearts grossly mixing without care just for power..."

"They aren't like you or me anymore- back then, in the Realm of Darkness, sometimes it would be so dark, that we couldn't even see one another. So we developed scents to detect, identify, and understand each other to prevent fights. Though, mine's changed a bit due to sharing a heart with Orichalchemi," she finishes.

Vanitas huffs, unsatisfied with the answer, "okay first of all; you suck at explaining stuff. Second; so what? You're saying you didn't always smell like a someone was burning s'mores with incense sticks in a graveyard?"

They quirk an eyebrow and ignore his insult, "you seem oddly fixated on the subject. Why do you care what I smell like?"

The boy frowns, looking down at his food and avoiding her own stare, "I... how do you control it...?"

A deep sigh, but a fond one. That's the most direct he's been about asking for their help. Well, their meal can wait.

Slowly, they place an extra of their pastes de tinga on his still full plate, responding cooly, "well, for starters, you can take better care of yourself. The more energy you have- the better. So eat before it gets too cold. A healthy body produces a stronger scent and makes it easier to focus."

Wordlessly he does as she says without a fight.

It's a small win.

Yoruhua smiles to himself, finishing off their own food. And watches over him fondly.

It's moments like this, where he's simply living instead of anticipating the next attack, that she enjoys most. Through she'll never get over how horrible it felt to be trapped within Void Gear, her one window into the real world was always the one silver lining.

Watching him sleep peacefully on those rare nights, or try a new skill and smile where no one else could see him when he got it right...

"What are you looking at?" Vanitas asks wearily, looking up at her.

Yoruhua shakes her head, "nothing, I..."

She looks at him, truly, and decides to just say it, "seeing how far you've come since we've started this journey... Well, I'm proud of you, I've always been."

Vanitas blushes, and glares down at his nearly finished plate, "I don't get how you can just say things like that. Putting your emotions on display like that, like one of those weak sappy Lights."

Yoruhua laughs, "hah, honestly, you call it a weakness, but it's a lot harder to admit than it looks."

"While being genuine puts your weaknesses on full display, it also makes you fully aware of them and easier to defend. You can't protect what you don't understand. Ori showed me that."

They add, "I find it... Impressive, that the Light feels so confident in such emotion, that they leave it out in the open for all to enjoy, because they know they can trust those others with it- and in their abilities to protect it when the time comes."

At that he stays silent but eventually the tension in his shoulders dissipate, "so you... Trust me? Even after all I did to you as Void Gear?"

Yoruhua nods, "of course I do, besides, you didn't hurt me- I was only trapped inside. I got to see tons of interesting things with you. You even freed me." A mischievous smirk creeps on his face as he reaches over to ruffle his hair.

"H-Hey! Knock it off!" He whines.

They laugh, "sorry, I couldn't help myself. You're sweet, even if you are a punk most of the time."

He light heartedly pushes her hand away, "yeah whatever, you deserve it for dragging me behind you everywhere, it's only fair."

"dragging you? We're bonding! This is like... Those family roadtrip Lights take all the time! I'm building your character!"

"You kidnapped me!"

"Same thing!"

While the two bickered, neither of them noticed the sweeter scent shift in the air, incense mixing with palm oil to create a more neutral, delicate sandalwood.

Yoruhua can't.#debating over whether or not they can also summon unversed to some degree since Homunculi are very emotion based. but we'll see #anyways #ill be back w cute flood vanitas and monster Yoru at a later date #hopefully
