Chapter 5 - Aurora
13320 Mulholland Drive, LA, California
Aurora Watson was everything that Y/n wasn't. Everything about her was 180 degrees so different from Y/n, from her physical features, her family background, her occupation, down to her dating history.
Aurora was an actress, model and influencer. She had been acting since she was a teenager and had a somewhat successful acting career. She once had a part in a critically acclaimed criminal drama and made her name known mostly from that show. Over the years however she had expanded her career into more of modeling and being brand ambassadors rather than being an actress. Using her Instagram presence, which had more than 5 million followers, she had built a career out of becoming influencers and promoting fashion and beauty products on her account.
The list of actors and celebrities she had dated over the years was enough to make a woman's heart filled with envy. A rock star, Hollywood A listers, a sports star, rich CEOs, she had dated all types of successful and handsome men.
As if that wasn't enough, she was also born into a rich family. She was the only child of one of the richest hedge fund managers, entrepreneurs and investors in the US, Richard Watson. Y/n couldn't help but feel intimidated by her.
Y/n continued to stare at Aurora as she went down the stairs. Her long smooth blonde hair flowed behind her back. The silver dress shimmered as she moved, accentuating her slim figure. Her pointed nose turned upward. Her red painted full lips could even be seen from down below. And she was sure she could see her sparkling blue eyes that seemed to enchant anyone who sees them.
Aurora went down the staircase slowly, taking one step at a time. It felt like watching a movie in slow motion. It seemed she was wearing ten inch high heels and that was why she moved so slowly. It was clear that she tried to be elegant coming down the stairs, but instead she looked like an old lady going slowly down the stairs, afraid of falling down as her hand held onto the railing tightly.
Behind her three people followed her. A woman with glasses and long wavy brunette hair, a short Chinese man with jet black hair pulled up into a ponytail, and a man with glasses and short blonde hair styled in a high fade buzz cut. They all followed Aurora down the stairs and moved as slow as she was.
The sight was somewhat comical and Y/n tried hard not to laugh. She covered her mouth with her hand to hide a smile her mouth involuntarily formed.
She glanced at Sebastian and found him glancing at her and giving her a side smile, as if telling her he knew how funny the sight was.
"Hey Aurora. Sorry if we're a bit late. I literally ran into Y/n with my car earlier." Sebastian said as he turned to look at Aurora.
"What?! You hit her with your car?!" Aurora's eyes widened as she finally arrived downstairs and gave Sebastian a brief hug and kisses on both his cheeks, to which Sebastian seemed uncomfortable with, which confused Y/n.
"Yeah, I did. She was crossing the road on a sharp bend so I didn't see her." Sebastian explained, stepping back from her.
"Oh wow. I hope you're okay?" Aurora turned to look at her and stared at her, her eyes judging her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for asking Aurora. I'm Y/n, by the way." She smiled and extended her hand.
Aurora took her hand and shook it as she looked at her with a condescending look, making her smile vanish into thin air. Aurora released her hand quickly and wiped it on her dress as if she just made contact with a filthy homeless person. She immediately felt dislike towards her.
"Well, I'm glad you're okay." Aurora said and smiled at her though she could clearly see the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Aurora darling, I'm sorry but we don't have much time. Can we do the shoot now?" The man with the short blonde hair suddenly chimed in.
"Oh yes, of course Leo. Come. Let's do the shoot by the pool." Aurora said, turning to look at the blonde man and smiled wide at him. She beckoned for all three of them to walk first and they headed towards the living room where there was a door leading to the back patio.
"Aurora.. I thought we were supposed to have a meeting." Sebastian pulled Aurora back by her arm and said to her in a low voice but Y/n could still hear it.
"Yeah, I know. But I have to do this shoot for Amore first and then we'll have the meeting. It won't take long. I promise." She said as she flashed him a bright smile.
"Well.. okay. I wish you would have told me though about the shoot. If you told me, Y/n probably wouldn't get hit by me." He protested.
"What do you mean?" Aurora asked in confusion.
"Her car broke down and she ran from where it broke down to about a mile from here so she wouldn't be late. If you told me about the shoot I would've asked her to come later and she could've taken a taxi or an Uber or something instead of running all the way here." He explained.
"Well, I'm sorry but I thought you could just wait for a bit. The shoot won't take long anyway." She defended herself.
"Yeah yeah, I just wish you would've been more empathetic." He grumbled.
"Seb.. I don't need this right now. I have a photoshoot to do. We'll talk about this later." She said sternly and she turned around, whipping her hair behind her and stormed off towards the back patio where the photographer and the three people she was with were already waiting.
"I'm sorry you have to witness that, and I'm sorry that you have to wait." Sebastian said as he turned to look at her.
"It's okay, Sebastian. I can wait. It's no big deal. I don't have anything else to do today anyway." She smiled and he smiled back.
"Okay. While we wait, maybe I can give you a little tour of the house. As Aurora's PA you will spend a lot of time here so it's a good idea to get you more familiar with the place." He said and she nodded.
Sebastian took her to the living rooms first. Yes, the house had three living rooms and five fireplaces! All of them were completed with expensive white and gray sofas as well as huge coffee tables and large flat screen TVs. There was a formal dining area next to the living room in the middle of the house and another separate informal dining room at the back of the kitchen with curved French windows facing the backyard. The kitchen was spacious with white cabinets and light gray marble countertops. It was of course fitted with top-of-the-line and most expensive appliances. She could imagine how comfortable it was to cook there.
There was someone in the kitchen when they entered it. A middle aged Latin woman was standing over the stone island, her hands busy chopping vegetables.
“Hello, Rosa.” Sebastian called out and walked towards the woman, a big smile on his face.
“Oh hello Mr.Stan." Rosa looked up and smiled upon seeing him.
"How are you today?" Sebastian asked as he gave Rosa a brief hug and kissed both her cheeks.
"Good thank you Mr.Stan. My daughter just called me this morning and she said she is going to come and visit me this weekend." Rosa replied.
"Oh that's good. Did she tell you about her college experience yet?" He asked.
"Oh yes, just a little. She just mentioned that she met some new friends. She sounded happy about it." Rosa replied.
"Oh good. Glad to hear that." He smiled as he took a seat on a stool in front of her. "By the way, Rosa this is Y/n, Y/n this is Rosa."
"Hi, nice to meet you." Y/n said as she extended her hand to Rosa.
"Oh hello, nice to meet you too." Rosa smiled and shook her hand.
"Y/n is going to be Aurora's PA." Sebastian explained.
"Oh, that's interesting. PA means Personal Assistant, right?" She asked.
"Yes. That's right." Sebastian nodded.
"Oh, good luck then." Rosa said, giving her a meaningful look.
"Thank you." She said, wondering why it seemed like Rosa was mocking her instead of actually wishing her luck.
"Rosa here is the boss of this house." Sebastian explained, chuckling.
"Oh Mr.Stan. I'm not the boss. You know who the boss is." She chuckled.
"Yeah, there's the boss." He said as he gestured outside towards the backyard where she could see Aurora posing by the pool, her white teeth flashing bright for the camera. "Then there's the real boss." He gestured towards Rosa, making Rosa blush.
"You don't want to mess with her, Y/n. If you see a speck of dust on a countertop, she's going to make sure someone cleans it." Sebastian said, chuckling.
"And that someone is me." A female voice suddenly chimed in.
A Latin girl with long braided hair entered the kitchen looking tired as she carried a mop in her hand.
"Gabriella, my dear. Cleaning is your job." Rosa commented, chuckling.
"Yeah it is, but it would be much easier if no one is hounding me to make sure a tiny spot on the floor isn't missed." She protested as she opened a nearby cupboard and put the mop inside. Rosa and Sebastian laughed upon hearing her answer. She just smiled as she guessed Gabriella was most likely a maid in the house and Rosa was the head maid.
"Hello Gabriella. How are you today?" Sebastian greeted her.
"Hi Sebastian. Oh same old same old. I'm just lucky I still have a job and a roof over my head." She commented sarcastically as she walked closer to them.
"So, we have a new girl in the house?" Gabriella asked, looking at her and extending her hand.
"Hi, I'm Y/n. Nice to meet you." She smiled and Gabriella smiled back.
"Finally! I have someone to help me clean the windows." Gabriella commented gleefully and shook her hand.
Clean the windows? Oh no. She was going to be a maid after all.
"No, Gabriella, as much as you want it, Y/n won't become another maid. She's going to be Aurora's PA." Sebastian corrected her and she felt relieved at that.
"Huh? Well, good luck with that." Gabriella said sarcastically, giving her another meaningful look.
"Uh.. thank you. I guess." She responded, looking at Sebastian, trying to see if he could explain Gabriella's statement but he didn't say anything.
"Oh, do you want something to drink Y/n?" Sebastian hopped off the stool and headed towards a huge refrigerator and opened it. He picked up a plain bottle with orange liquid in it and brought it back towards the stone island.
"Rosa here makes fresh juice everyday, a mix of apples, carrots, oranges, celery and some secret ingredient she wouldn't tell me. I promise you it will be the best juice you'll ever taste." He said as he went to a cupboard and picked up two tall glasses.
"Oh, that does look delicious." She said, looking at the juice as Sebastian started to pour some of it into the two glasses.
"Hey Rosa, Gabriella, do you guys want some?" He asked.
"No thank you, Sebastian. I had a glass of it this morning." Gabriella replied.
"How about you Rosa?" He asked, turning to Rosa.
"No thank you, Mr.Stan. I'm good." Rosa smiled as she finished chopping the vegetables and started to clean up.
"Okay." Sebastian nodded. He offered a glass to Y/n and she accepted it.
"Thank you." She said.
"Cheers." Sebastian said and he clinked his glass to hers.
"Cheers." She smiled.
She took a sip and immediately liked it. The juice was sweet, sour and fresh and had a certain tang to it that made it different. She gulped more of it, realizing how thirsty she was.
"It's good isn't it?" Sebastian winked as he placed his empty glass down.
"It is. You're right, Sebastian. It's the best juice I've ever tasted." She smiled and took more gulps until she finished the whole glass.
"You have to let me know the recipe one day, Rosa. Who knows, with the correct people behind you, you could launch a juice business!" Sebastian said excitedly, making Rosa blush.
"Oh Mr.Stan. It's just juice. It's no big deal." She shrugged.
"Are you kidding? People are making a fortune opening juice bars or juice factories. Especially here in LA where people are more health conscious." He commented.
"Oh I don't know Mr.Stan. Launching a business is not easy. I don't feel like I have the gut, the patience and determination for it." Rosa responded.
"Well, in case one day you change your mind, let me know and I'll be the first one to invest." He winked.
"Sure thing Mr.Stan." Rosa smiled.
Sebastian looked out the window towards the backyard and saw that Aurora was still out there doing some poses.
"Well, since she's not done yet, why don't I give you a tour upstairs." He said, turning to look at her.
"Okay." She nodded then she followed him out of the kitchen after saying goodbye to Rosa and Gabriella.
They took the beautiful winding staircase leading up to the second floor. Once they arrived on the second floor she couldn't help but admire the beautiful and luxurious interior of the second floor. The floor was shiny cream marble and the walls were bright white and decorated with many beautiful nature paintings each surrounded with gilded frames.
There were 5 rooms on the second floor. A living room, 3 bedrooms and a game room. Sebastian took her touring the comfortable living room first, which was equipped with comfortable white sofas, a flat screen TV and a fireplace. He then took her to the game room where there was a pool table.
"Can you play?" He asked as he picked up a cue stick from the table and started to set up fifteen balls inside a triangular rack right in the middle of the table.
"Not really." She shook her head shyly.
"Well, I can teach you." He winked and she couldn't help but blush at that.
He started explaining the rules of the game but she couldn't focus much as he approached her and stood next to her.
"So, yeah, the winner is the one who can pocket eight balls first." He concluded his explanation and picked up the triangular rack from the table then set it aside.
"Okay." She nodded and looked up at him. Her heart beat faster as she realized how close he was standing in front of her.
"Here." He gave her the cue stick and she accepted it in surprise.
"You want me to start first?" She asked.
"No, we'll do it together." He smiled and her heart skipped a beat.
He placed his left hand gently on her right hand and directed it to hold the handle of the cue stick. Then he turned her around by the waist so she stood facing the table while he stood behind her.
"Put your right hand by your waist." He said as he gently pulled her right elbow so her right hand held the cue by her waist.
"Good. And now lean over the table and place the tip of the cue stick on the table. You want to make sure your hand makes a 90 degree angle with the cue stick." He said.
She nodded as she leaned over the table. She felt a light touch on her back and realized he had touched her back gently and guided her to lean over. Her heart beat even faster at that.
"See the white cue ball?" He asked, pointing to the white ball placed outside of the fifteen balls. She nodded at his question.
"Make sure your body is aligned with it." He said as leaned over the table next to her, his face inches from hers, making butterflies fly around in her stomach.
"Now place your thumb and index finger between the tip of the cue stick like this, make a loop around it." He said as he gently directed her left fingers with his so she held the cue tip properly. Her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest as she felt his touch on her fingers. She couldn't believe how close he was to her.
"Okay. Now take a deep breath and let me guide you on how to strike it." He said.
She took a deep breath and froze as she felt his right hand holding her right hand and he started to move it back and forth.
"Steady." He said gently as her left fingers had started to tremble and she was sure her face had reddened yet again.
His left hand helped steady her left fingers, making her heart leapt out of her chest. Then his right hand directed hers to the front hard and the cue tip struck on the white ball sending all fifteen balls in the middle of the table scattering all over the table. Her eyes widened as she watched four balls dropped into the pockets on the side of the tables.
"We got four in already!" She shouted gleefully as they straightened their bodies up and continued to watch the remaining balls rolling on the table.
"We did!" He chuckled and he gave her a high five.
"That wasn't so hard." She commented.
"Well.. you got a good teacher." He winked, making her laugh.
"I sure did!" She smiled and he smiled warmly at her, making her heart skip a beat.
Once again she couldn't believe what just happened. It felt very intimate being guided to play pool by him. Now that she thought about it, he was the first man that had ever touched her so much even if the way he touched her were non-sexual. She never thought Sebastian Stan would be the first man that ever touched her! The thought made her so excited yet nervous at the same time. Then she realized she was being pathetic and she tried hard not to make a big deal of it again.
"Let me show you how to hold the tip of the cue stick another way so we can hit that ball." He said, pointing to a ball with the number 8 on it.
"Okay." She nodded, happy that he had another excuse to touch her no matter how pathetic it might be.
They ended up spending several minutes playing together, although they didn't really play against each other. They just wanted to pocket eight balls to finish the game. He guided her less and less as time went on and she got better at the game. They were just trying to finish the game by pocketing the eight ball when the sound of a dog barking and yapping reached their ears.
She turned to look towards the door and saw a cream and white long haired Chihuahua, barking loudly at them.
"Paris! Calm down! It's just me." Sebastian said as he walked towards the door and leaned down at the Chihuahua, stretching his hand at the dog. Paris stopped barking and sniffed at Sebastian's outstretched hand.
"It's okay, Paris. I just brought a friend." Sebastian said, glancing back at her.
"Yes, I'm a friend, Paris, it's okay." She cooed as she walked slowly towards them, but Paris continued to bark again as she stopped next to Sebastian.
"Sorry, she's always like this with new people." Sebastian straightened his body up and looked at her apologetically.
"It's okay.. maybe we should just go." She suggested. Stepping back as Paris barked and continued to look at her angrily.
"Yeah. But you two need to get along if you're going to be Aurora's PA. She's most likely going to ask you to deal with her one way or another." He said.
"Oh.. okay." She said as her heart plummeted down her stomach. She wasn't much of a dog person. Neither was she a cat person. She never even had pets at all. So having to deal with a dog was quite nerve wrecking for her.
"Come on. Let me show you her room." Sebastian said, beckoning his head towards the outside of the game room.
"She has her own room?" She asked in awe.
"Yeah, she does. Aurora spoils her a lot." He shrugged.
They walked out of the game room with Paris following them and still barking and yapping at their feet. At times she was afraid that the dog was going to bite her leg but thankfully she didn't.
Sebastian guided her to walk to a room facing the front of the house. The room's door was closed and she could see there was a small door at the bottom of it which dogs or cats could use to get in and out of the room.
Sebastian opened the door of the room and her eyes widened as she looked at the inside of the room. At first glance it looked like a room of a little girl. There were murals of a huge fairy tale castle decorating the walls and a huge literal golden castle in the middle of the room which, after a more detailed look, was actually a huge dog house in the form of a castle. The room was bright with huge windows facing the front of the house. The ceiling was painted with white and light blue clouds and the remaining walls were decorated with frames and frames of pictures of Paris.
Paris barked again as they entered the room and stood in front of the door of the castle.
"Paris.. it's okay. We're not going to bother you. I know it's your castle." Sebastian shrugged and he walked towards a golden painted cupboard at the right side of the room and opened it.
"Hmm.. I wonder where it is." Sebastian said as his eyes raked the inside of the cupboard.
"What are you looking for?" She asked as she walked to approach him.
"Her treats. We need to make her more friendly to you and treats are one way to do that." He explained.
"Oh, I see." She nodded.
"Ah.. there it is." Sebastian exclaimed and picked up a small package of dog treats.
Paris barked again and stood at his feet but this time her barks seemed different. She started wagging her tail and looked up at Sebastian, giving him literal puppy dog eyes.
Sebastian opened the package of treats and gave a piece to her.
"Here. See if she softened at you if you give her this." He suggested.
"Okay." She picked up the piece of treat from him and slowly leaned down and stretched her hand at Paris.
"Here you go, Paris. Have some treat." She cooed.
However, instead of taking the treat from her, Paris looked up at her and barked again. Her expression and posture clearly showed dislike.
"Paris, it's okay, she's a friend." Sebastian said gently and he picked up another piece of treat and offered it to her. This time Paris took the treat happily from him and even allowed him to pet her head.
"Sorry, it takes time for her to warm up to a new person." He said.
"It's okay. I get it." She said as she placed the treat in her hand on the floor near Paris and the Chihuahua immediately ate it.
"I'm sure you two will get along soon enough." Sebastian encouraged her.
"Yeah. I hope so." She said as she looked down and Paris started to bark at her again.
"I think she wants more treats." She commented.
Paris wagged her tail at that and Sebastian chuckled.
"I guess so." He responded as he gave the package of treats to her.
"I think it's best if you give it to her. See how she reacts." He suggested.
"Right." She nodded and she picked up another piece of treat and offered it to Paris.
Paris barked at her and looked at her cautiously.
"It's okay Paris, I'm a friend." She cooed as she squatted down in front of Paris and stretched her hand out even closer to the Chihuahua.
Paris barked again and stepped back a little from her.
"I guess it really will take some time for her to warm up to me." She said as she placed the treat on the floor and stood back up. As soon as she stood up Paris immediately ate the treat on the floor.
"Yeah. It's normal behavior from her. Don't worry about it." Sebastian said.
"Okay." She said, hoping in her heart that Paris really will get along with her eventually.
"Here, let me return the treats back." He said as he picked up the package of treats in her hand and put it back into the cupboard.
"Let's go check out other rooms and then go back downstairs. Hopefully Aurora is already done with the shoot." He suggested.
"Okay." She nodded and Sebastian turned around and walked out of the room.
Just as she was about to follow Sebastian out of the room, she felt something dragging her foot, preventing her from walking.
She looked down and saw Paris biting her shoes.
"No.. no.. Paris. Let me go." She said as she wiggled her foot but Paris kept on biting it.
"Paris.. No! Let.. me.. go!" She said more sternly this time and she moved her foot even harder as she felt Paris' teeth started to puncture her sneaker.
Worried that Paris would end up really hurting her foot, she moved her foot around even harder, effectively kicking Paris off her foot, sending her across the room and the Chihuahua hit the castle and dropped onto the floor. Her heart plummeted as she watched Paris whimpered and ran away from her. The Chihuahua ran into the castle and hid inside it.
Hoping that Paris was alright, she walked closer to the castle to check Paris' condition but stopped as she heard Sebastian's voice.
"Y/n? Is everything okay?" Sebastian came back into the room and his eyes scanned the room.
"Uh.. yeah.. yeah.. Everything is fine. I was just admiring this beautiful castle shaped dog house." She lied. She didn't want Sebastian to know she had kicked Paris.
"Oh yeah. It's beautiful but a little over the top isn't it?" He commented.
"Well.. yeah.. a little." She said slowly, unsure how to respond.
"Sebastian?! Seb?! Where are you?" Suddenly Aurora's voice could be heard from outside of the room.
"In here, Aurora!" Sebastian called out and moments later Aurora entered the room. She had changed out of her silver strapless dress and was wearing tight light wash jeans and a black off shoulder crop top which showed her smooth shoulders and lean and bare midriff. Her make up had also changed. Her red painted lips were gone and she had applied a light pink shimmering lip gloss on her lips instead.
She watched as Sebastian stared at Aurora's body and visibly swallowed hard. He looked like he was slightly in a trance as Aurora walked closer to them.
"Oh there you are." Aurora smiled as soon as she saw him but her face turned impassive as she glanced at Y/n.
Hearing Aurora's voice, Paris ran out of her castle and immediately ran towards her, barking repeatedly. Sebastian blinked several times and shook his head as he heard Paris' barks and he snapped out of the trance.
Men. They're all the same. Y/n grumbled internally. Well, she couldn't blame him. He was ogling over his own girlfriend. There was nothing wrong with that. Aurora did have an enviable slim body. Something she didn't have, she thought sadly.
"Paris, my baby. What's wrong?" Aurora scooped the Chihuahua into her arms and Paris immediately barked continuously at her.
If Paris could talk it seemed like she was telling on how Y/n had kicked her. She was glad dogs couldn't talk. Kicking a potential employer's dog really wouldn't make a good impression.
"She probably just wants more treats. I'm sorry but I took some from the cupboard and we gave some to her." Sebastian explained.
"Oh, maybe you're hungry huh? Let's go downstairs and give you your lunch." Aurora said as she stroked Paris' fur.
"As it happens, Rosa was just done preparing lunch. We can have the meeting while having lunch." Aurora continued, looking up at Sebastian while her hand continued to stroke Paris' fur gently.
"Oh that's a good idea. I am kind of hungry. Come on Y/n, let's go and have some lunch. I'm sure you're hungry after all that has happened." Sebastian said and smiled at her.
"Uh.. yeah. Okay." Her stomach made a rumbling sound at the exact moment, making Sebastian laugh out loud.
"Guess I was right." He chuckled and she couldn't help but blush. She was so embarrassed but at the same time she was happy that she could make Sebastian laugh like that.
Sebastian walked out of the room and she was just about to follow him when she noticed Aurora glancing at her in dislike. Aurora's eyes furrowed in annoyance but as soon as she noticed that Y/n was looking at her, she immediately smiled at her even though her smile didn't reach her eyes. She smiled back and made a mental note at her reaction. It was clear Aurora was kind of jealous and she was kind of happy about that. She never made anyone jealous of her through all these years and the fact made her confidence level raised. Who would've thought she could make Sebastian Stan's girlfriend jealous of her. Her of all people. She thought in disbelief.
When they entered the kitchen she could smell a delicious smell of grilled beef, making her stomach rumble again.
"Rosa, is lunch ready yet?" Aurora called out.
"Oh yes, Miss Watson. I've prepared them at the table by the window, as usual." Rosa said, turning around from where she was standing by the stove.
"Paris is also hungry, Rosa. Have you finished preparing her lunch?" Aurora asked.
"I'm almost done Miss Watson. Just a few seconds more." Rosa replied as she turned her attention back to the stove in front of her.
She watched as Rosa picked up a frying pan from the stove and carefully picked up a piece of what seemed to be a rib eye steak. Rosa placed the steak onto a golden dog bowl and carried it towards Aurora. Paris barked in excitement in Aurora's arms as she saw Rosa coming at her with the mouthwatering steak.
"Come Paris. Let's eat at your usual place." Rosa said as she picked up Paris from Aurora's arms and carried the dog to a corner of the kitchen.
The steak Rosa had prepared smelled so good that Y/n secretly hoped it was also going to be served for their lunch. But when she saw the circular dining table by the French window where Rosa had prepared their lunch, her heart plummeted at the sight. There was only a big bowl of what seemed to be green salad, a plate of sliced baguette, a plate of shredded chicken and a bowl of creamy white salad dressing. Rosa had also prepared three empty plates with forks and knives as well as empty glasses and a pitcher filled with iced water.
"Oh great! Rosa had prepared her signature chicken salad sandwich." Sebastian said excitedly as he pulled out a chair and sat down.
"Come Y/n, sit. Don't be fooled by how it looks. It tastes better than it looks." Sebastian smiled and she smiled back.
"Okay." She nodded and pulled up a chair in front of him while Aurora took a seat next to Sebastian.
"Let me show you how to arrange this so it tastes best." Sebastian said as he picked up a baguette, took a spoonful of the white salad dressing and spread it onto the baguette. He then picked several spoonfuls of the chicken, topped it off with some green salad and then took another spoonful of the salad dressing and poured it on top of the green salad. He then picked up another baguette and put it at the very top. He pressed the baguette down, causing some dressing to drop onto the plate and he laughed.
"That always happens." He chuckled.
He then took a bite and closed his eyes as he savored the sandwich.
"Mm.. mm.. this is so good." He said in between munching the sandwich.
"It looks delicious now that I've seen you eat it." She chuckled but she quickly stopped as she looked at how Aurora stared at her with daggers.
"Let me show you how I do it. Personally, I like my way better. It's much healthier." Aurora said as she picked an empty plate, picked some lettuce from the salad bowl and filled the lettuce with some shredded chicken and a little bit of the salad dressing then rolled the lettuce neatly so all the fillings were trapped inside it. She didn't touch the baguette at all.
She made four rolls of the chicken salad filled lettuce and finally took a bite.
"Mm.. mm.." she munched in delight.
"Go on.. try it." Aurora offered her lettuce rolls to both, Sebastian and her.
Sebastian picked up one roll and she followed suit. She took a bite and tried hard not to grimace. Aurora's option really wasn't delicious to her. She was a sucker for carbs, so not using the baguette was wrong in her mind. But then again, that was probably why she didn't have the slim body like Aurora. She wasn't sure she could keep being disciplined in eating healthy and exercising to keep her body looking like Barbie all the time.
"So, what do you think?" Aurora asked, turning to Sebastian.
"It's.. mm.. interesting." He said as he finished the whole roll and swallowed it.
"It is, isn't it? What do you think, Y/n?" Aurora asked as she turned to her.
She was still chewing the last bite of the roll when Aurora asked her and she swallowed it too fast in an effort to answer Aurora that she choked on it and coughed loudly.
"Y/n.. are you okay?" Sebastian asked, looking at her in concern as she continued to cough and tears started to fall from her eyes.
"Wow. She loves it so much that she's crying over it." Aurora said in delight.
"She's choking, Aurora." Sebastian immediately stood up and went over to her but she raised her hand up to hold him back as she finally succeeded in swallowing the whole thing and the urge to cough had lessened.
"Here, have some water." Sebastian said as he sat back down and poured a glass of water to an empty glass for her and placed it in front of her.
She nodded and immediately took a sip.
"Ahem… I'm sorry about that." She finally croaked.
"It's okay. I guess it wasn't exactly your taste?" Sebastian laughed, making her smile but her smile was quickly gone as she looked at Aurora giving her a death stare.
"It was good actually. I just.. ahem.. swallowed it too fast. Sorry." She explained.
"Yeah. It is good. And much healthier too." Aurora said as she picked up the last roll and ate it, giving her a haughty look.
"So, Y/n. Which one do you like more? My way or her way?" Sebastian asked with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Mm.. my way." She said after thinking for a moment and Sebastian laughed out loud.
"Don't get me wrong. I can understand why you both did what you did. But I have a different way." She said, smiling mischievously.
"Okay. Let's see it then." Aurora challenged her.
She picked up an empty plate, mixed in some green salad and shredded chicken on it then added a dollop of the salad dressing. She mixed the whole thing and once the dressing had evenly mixed with the chicken and salad, she spread the whole thing onto a baguette. She made three of the chicken salad spread baguette and when done offered them to both Sebastian and Aurora.
Aurora was hesitant to pick it up but Sebastian immediately picked one up and bit it. She followed along and picked one up then took a bite and immediately felt satisfaction.
"Mm.. hmm.. this is by far the best one." Sebastian said in between munching and she smiled, earning her another look of daggers from Aurora.
"It's more like a bruschetta." Aurora commented. "Not a sandwich."
"Whatever it is, I like it." Sebastian commented as he proceeded to make one just like the one she had made.
"You should try one, Aurora." Sebastian suggested.
"Feed me." Aurora said and Sebastian coughed. She also almost choked again upon hearing Aurora's request.
"What?" He asked, flabbergasted.
"You want me to try it? Then feed it to me." She commanded.
"Not in front of someone else, Aurora." Sebastian warned her.
"What? It's just an innocent act of feeding." Aurora said, batting her long eyelashes and smiling seductively at him.
Sebastian shook his head as she saw his cheeks start to redden. Despite his misgivings, he picked up the 'bruschetta' - as Aurora called it - that he just made, picked it up and directed it slowly towards Aurora's mouth.
Aurora took her time to bite the 'bruschetta', her eyes gazed at him seductively and Y/n could see how uncomfortable Sebastian was with the way Aurora was looking at him. She made some satisfied moaning sounds as she chewed the 'bruschetta' and Y/n swore she could see Sebastian's face reddened even more. Once she had swallowed it she licked her lips slowly. Y/n watched how Sebastian reacted to that. Again, he visibly swallowed hard and she couldn't help but feel like she had witnessed something so personal that she felt like she should just drown into the floor and vanish.
"You guys were right. That was the best one." Aurora remarked after finishing her first bite.
Sebastian fed her the rest of the 'bruschetta' and in doing so, he made some of the dressing fall onto his fingers. Aurora swallowed the last bite then slowly licked his fingers clean. This time Sebastian's face really turned as red as a tomato and Y/n leaned back, really wishing the floor would open wide and swallow her whole.
"I need to use the restroom." She blurted out and quickly stood up, startling both Aurora and Sebastian who were staring at each other with.. well.. lust. That was all she could make out from them.
"Oh. Yeah. You know where the bathroom is, right?" Sebastian asked, looking up at her, the lust on his face gone.
"Yeah. I know. You showed me before." She nodded.
"Okay." He smiled and she turned around, not even bothering to smile back at him.
She left the kitchen feeling weird. There was a heaviness in her heart she didn't recognize. What was she feeling? She pondered as she finally arrived at the bathroom and opened the bathroom door.
Jealousy. She suddenly realized as she stared at herself in the mirror in the bathroom. She was jealous of Aurora. She hated watching their intimate interaction. But.. she shouldn't feel this way. Sebastian belonged to Aurora, not her, and the way they looked at each other really was normal behavior between a couple. It was her who was being weird.
Although, at times she could feel how Sebastian cared for her. More than he should care towards a stranger like her. The image of him being close to her during the pool game flooded her mind and she couldn't help but blush again at that.
She shook her head vigorously. He was just being nice. She tried to convince herself. Surely he wouldn't dare being flirty with someone else in his own girlfriend's house. She was certain he was not that kind of person. Besides, who was she but an ugly thirty year old girl who never had a boyfriend. The possibility of someone like Sebastian Stan falling in love with someone like her was slim to none. She should try harder to have a level head and come back to the table being a professional employee-to-be to the both of them.
Yes. No matter how nice or caring he behaved to her she should just treat him professionally. She wouldn't let her personal feelings for him win over her. It wasn't healthy and would serve her no good.
Satisfied with her decision, she took off her glasses, set it aside and decided to wash her face to freshen up. After witnessing the interaction between Sebastian and Aurora she felt rather hot and bothered. Water should help cool her down.
A couple of minutes later she returned to the kitchen and found both Aurora and Sebastian still sitting on the circular dining table, finishing their chicken salad sandwich. The air between them had completely changed. It was like watching two strangers eating side by side. The sight baffled her but she decided to brush it off. She wondered if they had a fight while she was gone. Although she couldn't imagine for what reason they would fight.
"Hey, you're back." Sebastian looked up as she took a seat in front of him and his face brightened as he looked at her.
Her heart melted at how he smiled at her but she kicked herself mentally and succeeded in stopping herself from smiling back at him.
"Yeah. So, about the job." She said, deciding that she should start the conversation. She didn't want the meeting to turn into something weird again.
"Oh yeah. The PA job. What do you think, Aurora?" He asked, turning to look at Aurora who had just finished sipping a glass of water.
"Well, like I told you before, Seb. I actually don't need a PA at this moment." Aurora said and her heart plummeted at that. Despite her initial misgivings at working for Aurora, she couldn't deny that she really needed a job and rejection from Aurora was not something she could apparently take at that moment.
"But you most likely will in the near future. You can't take Gabriella or Rosa with you on set." Sebastian reminded her.
"Are you telling me I got the part?" Aurora asked gleefully.
"No, not yet. But I'm trying my best to persuade Maya to cast you. You fit what the producers are looking for but Maya is still hesitant." Sebastian responded.
"Oh, okay. Well, if I get cast, then I'll hire her as my PA. Otherwise, like I said, I don't need a PA." Aurora said as she glanced at Y/n with a condescending look.
"Aurora.. hire her now and I'll make sure you'll get cast." Sebastian insisted.
"Promise? If I don't get cast, I'll fire her." She said, challenging him.
Sebastian looked at her apologetically and turned to look back at Aurora.
"Fine. I promise." He finally said.
"Alright, you're hired." Aurora said, turning to look at her and gave her the fakest smile she had ever seen.
"How much are you going to pay me?" She asked as she was suddenly reminded of Sebastian's advice to her a few days before. She glanced at Sebastian and saw him smiling a little at her, as if silently congratulating her.
"How much do you want?" Aurora asked, staring at her in surprise.
"Well, Sebastian promised me 4 thousand a month." She said and Aurora's eyebrows raised.
"That much? You pay your PAs that much?" Aurora turned to look at Sebastian in disbelief.
"Yeah. They deserve way more and I would give more if I could. To be honest, with her degree and work experience, she deserves more. Have I told you she used to work at an IT company as a software developer?" Sebastian said and she could feel her cheeks reddened at that.
"Hmm.. okay. Your degree and work experience unfortunately doesn't apply here. You'll need a completely different set of skills to be my PA. So unfortunately, I can't pay you more." She said as she continued to stare at her haughtily.
"Okay.. that's fine." She said, realizing she didn't have much bargaining power. She needed the job while Aurora didn't need her.
"So, what would be my job description?" She continued to ask.
"Well.. your main job is to assist me. In anything and everything that I ask you to do." Aurora said with an evil glint in her eyes.
Her heart plummeted at her answer and she felt dread filling her stomach. She couldn't help having the image in her mind of Cinderella working hard at cleaning a big house, sweeping the floor, cleaning the windows, then preparing breakfast for the stepmother and stepsisters and being told off for not working fast enough.
She had a feeling that it was exactly what was going to happen to her. As much as she didn't like it, she felt like she didn't have any other option. She could of course say no and refuse to work for Aurora. But she didn't want to disappoint Sebastian who had defended her and even made a bargain for her. The least she could do to repay all his kindness was to accept the job.
"Okay." She finally nodded. "When do you need me to start?"
"Tomorrow will be great. Oh, I have a spare room by the garage. It would be great if you could move in and stay here so you can assist me 24/7." Aurora said.
"What?!" She said, flabbergasted.
"Aurora, if you're going to hire her around the clock you need to pay her more. I promised to give her 4 thousand to work from 9 to 5, not for 24 hours." Sebastian protested.
"Okay, fine. I'll pay you 5 thousand a month." Aurora said.
"Seven." Sebastian bargained and her jaw dropped at that.
"Six and that's final. Take it or leave it." Aurora said, leaning back on the chair and folding her arms in front of her.
"Y/n?" Sebastian looked up at her expectantly.
"Okay. I'll take it." She finally said.
Six thousand dollars a month!? She could just work for Aurora for a month and bail and find another job. That would be enough to cover at least another three months without work. Surely by then she could find another job or get cast in something. She would still try to audition during her spare time. Yes, that would work. She thought in satisfaction.
"Good." Aurora smiled and this time her smile reached her eyes. Although it was looking somewhat like an evil smile.
Dread seeped into her stomach once again as she realized that having Aurora as her boss would most likely be challenging. Little did she know that challenging was an understatement.

Female Rappers Leading the New Era of Hip-Hop
Tumblr media
The queens are reigning supreme in the kingdom of Hip-Hop. Nicki's rhymes rule the charts, Cardi builds her own business kingdom, and Megan rocks the stage with fearless style. They're not just rappers, they're changing the game. They're rapping real life, empowering girls, and showing everyone what it means to be strong women in music. This isn't just a fad, it's a movement, and these queens are leading the way!
Tumblr media
Forget the tired tropes of female rappers as sidekicks or featuring as chorus. These queens are the stars, owning their sexuality, their voices, and their stories. They're rapping about everything from self-love and financial independence to social justice and mental health, all with a raw honesty and vulnerability that resonates deeply with their generation. They're unapologetically themselves, flaws and all, challenging the hyper-masculine image that once dominated the genre and proving that strength and vulnerability can coexist.
Tumblr media
But it's not just about the mic. These queens are building businesses, launching fashion lines, and advocating for social causes. Cardi B's savvy business moves, from clothing lines to record labels, are paving the way for other female entrepreneurs. Megan Thee Stallion's vocal support for Black women's rights is amplifying important conversations. These women are not just entertainers; they're role models, showing young girls that they can be anything they set their minds to, on and off the stage.
Tumblr media
This leadership isn't just about individual success; it's about creating space for others. Female rappers are forming powerful collaborations, lifting each other up, and fostering a sense of community that transcends traditional rivalries. From Cardi B and Nicki Minaj's chart-topping duet to the sisterhood of Cypher Queens, these collaborations are proving that women are stronger together, pushing the boundaries of creativity and inspiring a new generation of female artists.
Tumblr media
The rise of female leadership in Hip-Hop is not just about music; it's a cultural revolution. It's about challenging stereotypes, dismantling power structures, and rewriting the rules of the game. It's about unapologetic self-expression, fierce independence, and the power of sisterhood. And it's just getting started. So, step aside, kings. The queens have the mic, and they're not giving it back anytime soon.

My Favorite Feminist Anime TV Show List (with the Best Female Leads)
Tumblr media
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit
This is one of my all time favorite animes in general and always gives me a thrill on a rewatch, especially if you enjoy high fantasy and historical fiction - the 30 something year old lead Balsa is a surprise for a female lead in her genre, is not only a seasoned warrior but a compelling woman with a fascinating history.
Tumblr media
Little Witch Academia
Like the classic witch school trope? Little Witch Academia brings all the charm of Hogwarts while being unabashedly feminist, following a predominantly female cast who, under the influence of the charming and zany female lead, Ako, strive to achieve their and their friends dreams (with lots of chaos along the way).
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket
Known for it's slow burn romance and dreamy male shapeshifters, the feminist themes in this beloved anime are often overlooked. But, that's a mistake; the messaging IS there and what a lovely (and varied) female cast does this show have to offer, each character nuanced in her own expression of female. Maybe even more impressively, Fruits Basket acknowledges the value of female friendship and doesn't degrade it in the name of romance, an uncommon (but wildly valuable) theme in modern pop culture.
Tumblr media
The Story of Saiunkoku
If you enjoy something historical but prefer Shojo, this Anime is the one for you! And, unlike many other Shojo Animes that feature mainly male casts, The Story of Saiunkoku avoids toxic tropes - Shurei, the show's lead is so spunky and entrepreneuring I find myself supporting her though thick and thin and she is hands down my favorite character in the show, an unusual statement from me when it comes to male dominant historical fantasy.
Tumblr media
Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken
Want a show that's super zany and divide of ANY gender stereotyping? And maybe (like me) you love all things artsy? Well, this little Anime is the show for you (and a hidden gem to boot)! Following High School Animation Club Eizouken this Anime is all about wild imagination and the struggles of getting things done - while following a almost completely female cast.
Tumblr media
Sailor Moon Crystal
I kind of couldn't include this show on my list, it's so very quintessential! Sailor Moon is the most famous female super hero story out there, and for good reason - it blazed a trail for female representation. While the fandom as a whole can be complicated - it walks a thin line between empowered and problematic - this specific adaption focuses on the story and action over romance or style, making it my favorite Sailor Moon adaption. It's well worth a visit :)
So, there we go! Hopefully this post inspired critical thinking of what makes an anime feminist AND convinced fans old and new there are places for everyone in Anime fandoms. I know I personally struggle to find myself represented in mainstream media (and I know I've got it easier then most) so these empowered shows have given me a lot - and hopefully have something to give you :)
Best,
~Nattyjae

Motorsports Is Looking for the Next Danica Patrick. And the One After That.
Despite a push for greater diversity, female drivers remain a rarity in top racing series like Formula 1, NASCAR and IndyCar.
Dec. 26, 2022
It has been 14 years since Danica Patrick became the first woman to win a top-class race in a major motorsports series. At the time, pundits predicted her victory in IndyCar would usher in a new era of female racers.
But today’s landscape shows a more complicated picture.
For every success, there have been even more setbacks. There currently are no women driving full time‌ in Formula 1, IndyCar or NASCAR — and, historically, very few have ever competed, even though these series are not exclusive to men. The Indianapolis 500 had featured at least one woman in its field for 20 straight races starting in 2000, but none participated in two of the past three seasons. And the W Series, a women’s racing league that runs as part of Formula 1 grand prix weekends, canceled its 2022 season prematurely because of funding problems.
“It was probably a bit naïve to think that one woman’s success could make an immediate impact,” said Beth Paretta, an automotive entrepreneur and longtime advocate for women in motorsports. “Sure, it was great to see a feel-good story like Danica’s, but something needed to be done back then to sustain that momentum — and we still don’t truly have that.”
Paretta, 48, has made it her mission to correct that. In 2021, her IndyCar team, Paretta Autosport, became the first mostly female team to compete in the Indy 500, featuring a female driver, the Swiss racer Simona de Silvestro, and an all-woman pit crew. The team has since competed in a handful of other IndyCar races, though it is not a full-time participant within the series.
Paretta said her goal runs deeper than just promoting talented female drivers. Racing is still a male-dominated sport, she said, from the administrative roles within teams to the race strategists. “You can often count the number of women in the paddock on one hand,” she added.
Her hope is to shine a spotlight on women working in all facets of racing to inspire the next generation.
“Typically, for women in racing, we’re not used to pointing out that we’re women,” Paretta said. “In fact, we kind of hope you don’t notice — we just want to do our jobs and get on with it. So accentuating women in motorsports is an uncomfortable adjustment for us, but we’ve come to realize that we have to do this if we want our kids, and our kids’ kids, to normalize this.”
Susie Wolff, a British former racecar driver who has worked in various roles within motorsports, agrees that increasing gender diversity in racing behind the scenes is essential to ultimately producing more female racers.
“It’s not just about putting a girl in the car,” Wolff said. “There are generally 20 or 30 drivers on track, but thousands involved in making a race happen. On-track drivers get the most publicity, but it has to be much more than that.”
Wolff knows firsthand what it is like to be one of the few women in a racing garage. In 2012, she signed as a testing and development driver for the Williams Formula 1 team, and two years later she became the first woman since 1992 to participate as a driver in a Formula 1 race weekend. In the summer of 2018, she became the team principal of Venturi Racing, a team in the electric racing series Formula E. She said she has been met with skepticism at every job she’s ever taken.
I will never forget when I was announced as team principal,” she said. “I was with 16 journalists, and the first question was, ‘What qualifies you for this job?’ The second question was, ‘Did your husband get you this job?’ And the third question: ‘How can you manage the travel involved, since you just had a baby?’” Wolff is married to Toto Wolff, the longstanding team principal of the Mercedes Formula 1 team.
By the end of her tenure, spending one year as chief executive, she had silenced the critics by bringing Venturi from nearly last place in the constructors standings to a championship contender. She is hopeful that women who assume roles in racing in the future will not need to endure the same type of scrutiny she did.
“I was successful, and suddenly everything about my gender and being the only female didn’t matter,” said Wolff, who left Venturi after the 2022 season.
Another obstacle facing women who want to race, Wolff said, is the lack of defined pipelines for them. Breaking into higher levels of racing is difficult, often carrying a steep financial cost, and there are few dedicated programs designed to encourage and support young girls. That is partly what inspired Wolff in 2016 to establish Dare to be Different, a nonprofit organization that promotes motorsports to girls.
“It becomes something of a numbers game,” said Wolff, who estimated that the total number of young women participating in any form of racing remains exceedingly small. “If only 5 percent of all global racing license holders are women, you’re not likely to get one breaking into the highest levels. You need to get more young women entering the sport for the best to rise to the top.”
Those types of pipelines, though, can take time to produce results. NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity program, for example, was created in 2004 with the aim of improving racial and gender diversity among drivers and pit crew members. The initiative provides structured training programs, complete with on-track experience, to its participants in the hopes of elevating them through NASCAR’s ranks. But it has only recently begun to see its efforts reflected on the sport’s highest level.
The program’s notable graduates include Kyle Larson, an Asian American driver who won the Cup Series championship in 2021; Bubba Wallace, who last year became the first Black driver to win a top-level race since 1963; and Daniel Suárez, who this year became the first Mexican-born driver to win a Cup Series race.
“I’d say it’s been a coming-out party, of sorts, for that program,” said Brandon Thompson, NASCAR’s vice president of diversity and inclusion. “But a lot of people tend to forget that those seeds were planted way back when we started this effort 20 years ago. It takes time to build that foundation.”
Although Drive for Diversity has yet to promote a female driver to the Cup Series, it has graduated a few women to pit crews. Last month, four women who aspire to drive in the series participated in its most recent racing combine, where participants — many of them teenagers — audition their skills in the hopes of being selected for a developmental racing series that could lead to further promotion through NASCAR’s pipeline.
“We’re certainly keeping an eye on the development of the young women we have in that program, and we feel great about the crop of talent we have in that pipeline,” Thompson said. “We’re just waiting for the day when we can change this conversation and be talking about their success.”
Other motorsports series have recently unveiled similar diversity pipelines. In 2020, IndyCar introduced “Race for Equality and Change,” which supports grass-roots youth motorsports programs. And last month, F1 launched a subsidized racing series specifically for young women that officials say will work in conjunction with the W Series to add more women to the F1 pipeline.
For drivers like Chloe Chambers, 18, who participated in the W Series this year, these are all positive steps toward getting women more vital experience.
“In racing, the biggest disadvantages come from funding rather than physical ability based on gender,” Chambers said. “Statistically, women have gotten less funding and less time behind the wheel of a racecar. So things like F1 Academy are all great steps to hopefully get women more experience.”
Chambers, who was born in China and raised in New York, said her goal was to reach Formula 3, a feeder series for Formula 1. Doing so has historically been difficult for women; for example, Jamie Chadwick, a 24-year-old British racer who won the W Series championship the past three seasons, has never landed a seat in F3.
In spite of the challenges, Chambers believes that she can break through once she gains enough experience.
“In the future, I’m hopeful there will be women on the Formula 1 pipeline,” she said. “That’s the goal of every driver, but for women, it’s that much harder.”
As for Paretta, she currently is looking to secure sponsors to run her team full time in IndyCar next season. And while the progress for women in racing has not come as quickly as she may have hoped after Patrick’s groundbreaking win, she is optimistic that the future can be bright.
“We’re closer than we’ve ever been,” she said. “We just need to keep talking about it.”

𝓫𝓲𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝔂
once upon a time in a land far, far away...(actually, it wasn’t so far away at all, it was just over in england), an american actress, miranda marshall,  who was blowing up on the scene, was invited to attend a gala at buckingham palace,
there, she caught the eye of james windsor, known to be the rebellious prince of england, the party boy, the one who was sixth in line for the throne behind his father, his elder brother and his three children.
the two spent all night talking and thus began the whirlwind romance of the decade. tabloids went absolutely crazy - following their every single move around the globe as they vacationed in the most lavish and exotic spots and it wasn’t long before the two were engaged.
their engagement caused quite the uproar in england, considering she wasn’t a royal plus she had come from america. but james didn’t care. he loved her and thought there was no better person he could spend his life with.
shortly after their lavish nuptials. miranda and james welcomed a son, followed by their precious baby girl, adelaide elizabeth windsor, and then one more daughter and son after her.
adelaide, being the first born girl was the light of her parents’ eyes and a favorite to her grandmother, the queen, who’s namesake she was given as her middle name.
growing up adelaide absolutely loved everything about royal life, she thought it was the most magical thing in the world.
there was nothing about it she didn’t like - the dressing up, the swarms of people staring at her, just hoping she’d offer a smile or a curtsey or a wave, the elaborate balls and the rich tradition, she wanted this life forever.
and because she was so into this life, she certainly wasn’t as humble as her parents. while her parents spent their time using their power for good, engaging in a lot of charity work, traveling the common wealth and fulfilling their royal duties, adelaide was much more concerned about the whole royalty aspect of it.
she was her grandmother’s favorite, her right hand, practically. and she always admired the woman she was and truly wished she was born into her uncles family so she could be closer in line for the throne.
but, much like her father, there had always been a mischievous glint behind the girl's eyes.
as a teenager, she’d disappear for days to party on celebrity yachts in greece, would be flown across the world to go on a date in dubai with a saudi prince, and got herself into all sorts of trouble, simply ‘for the content.’ but debauchery was always kept under wraps and covered up by the royal family. but, adelaide wasn't one for subtleties and often vlogged her extravagant adventures on her youtube channel and instagram account.
as she grew up, she was completely blinded to the hate her mother received being a foreigner in england. the press absolutely ripped her to shreds, every move she made scrutinized, everything she wore ridiculed. and while she handled it with grace, it did start to get to her.
she spent years and years of her life trying to fit the royal mold, all for them to never accept her. and adelaide’s answer to her? was simply to try harder and stop whining.
it wasn’t until one evening three years ago that the family was leaving an event and their car was being chased by papparazi and almost crashed, eerily similar to the way james’ mother passed away.
immediately, he threw in the towel and decided to pick up his family, retire of royal duties and move to america.
adelaide was absolutely crushed. being a royal was all she knew and all she wanted to be and she couldn’t imagine starting over somewhere where nobody cared about who she was, let alone at twenty nine years old.
they moved into a multi-million dollar estate in hidden hills, california and adelaide found herself at a loss. they had been cut off by their entire family back in england, forced to forge a path of their own.
she had never been a smart girl. she knew how to be two things - pretty and charming. so because of that, adelaide is everywhere - doing every brand deal she can get, any appearance, or talk show, trying to weasel her way into hollywood and is even working on attempting a pop career, even though she can't sing for shit.
like her parents, she began profiting off the ‘former royal’ thing, bashing the royal family, making up elaborate lies about the things they did and said, the scandals they covered up and anything she could conjure up in her mind. and she made up so many stories, that she got a book deal and her book ‘extra’ will be coming out soon!
personality wise, adelaide is incredibly spoiled and snobbish. she talks down to everyone around her and truly thinks she’s better than everyone just because she’s a royal... or was. she’s completely oblivious to what it takes to be someone who lives on their own, which is why she’s still living with her parents at thirty years old. she has 0 work ethic and is known to be menacingly difficult to deal with and absolutely delulu.

Nonfiction Thursday: Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Biographies
Both/And by Huma Abedin
The daughter of Indian and Pakistani intellectuals and advocates, Abedin grew up in the United States and Saudi Arabia and traveled widely. Both/And grapples with family, legacy, identity, faith, marriage, motherhood—and work—with wisdom, sophistication, grace, and clarity.
Abedin launched full steam into a college internship in the office of the First Lady in 1996, never imagining that her work at the White House would blossom into a career in public service, nor that her career would become an all-consuming way of life. She thrived in rooms with diplomats and sovereigns, entrepreneurs and artists, philanthropists and activists, and witnessed many crucial moments in 21st-century American history—Camp David for urgent efforts at Middle East peace in the waning months of the Clinton administration, Ground Zero in the days after the September 11 attacks, the inauguration of the first African American president of the United States, and the convention floor when America nominated its first female presidential candidate.
Abedin’s relationship with Hillary Clinton has seen both women through extraordinary personal and professional highs, as well as unimaginable lows. Here, for the first time, is a deeply personal account of Clinton as mentor, confidante, and role model. Abedin cuts through caricature, rumor, and misinformation to reveal a crystal-clear portrait of Clinton as a brilliant and caring leader, a steadfast friend, generous, funny, hardworking, and dedicated.
Eat a Peach by David Chang
In 2004, David Chang opened a noodle restaurant named Momofuku in Manhattan's East Village, not expecting the business to survive its first year. In 2018, he was the owner and chef of his own restaurant empire, with 15 locations from New York to Australia, the star of his own hit Netflix show and podcast, was named one of the most influential people of the 21st century and had a following of over 1.2 million. In this inspiring, honest and heartfelt memoir, Chang shares the extraordinary story of his culinary coming-of-age.
Growing up in Virginia, the son of Korean immigrant parents, Chang struggled with feelings of abandonment, isolation and loneliness throughout his childhood. After failing to find a job after graduating, he convinced his father to loan him money to open a restaurant. Momofuku's unpretentious air and great-tasting simple staples - ramen bowls and pork buns - earned it rave reviews, culinary awards and before long, Chang had a cult following.
Chang's love of food and cooking remained a constant in his life, despite the adversities he had to overcome. Over the course of his career, the chef struggled with suicidal thoughts, depression and anxiety. He shied away from praise and begged not to be given awards. In Eat a Peach, Chang opens up about his feelings of paranoia, self-confidence and pulls back the curtain on his struggles, failures and learned lessons.
Stay True by Hua Hsu
In the eyes of eighteen-year-old Hua Hsu, the problem with Ken--with his passion for Dave Matthews, Abercrombie & Fitch, and his fraternity--is that he is exactly like everyone else. Ken, whose Japanese American family has been in the United States for generations, is mainstream; for Hua, the son of Taiwanese immigrants, who makes 'zines and haunts Bay Area record shops, Ken represents all that he defines himself in opposition to. The only thing Hua and Ken have in common is that, however they engage with it, American culture doesn't seem to have a place for either of them.
But despite his first impressions, Hua and Ken become friends, a friendship built on late-night conversations over cigarettes, long drives along the California coast, and the textbook successes and humiliations of everyday college life. And then violently, senselessly, Ken is gone, killed in a carjacking, not even three years after the day they first meet.
Determined to hold on to all that was left of one of his closest friends--his memories--Hua turned to writing. Stay True is the book he's been working on ever since. A coming-of-age story that details both the ordinary and extraordinary, Stay True is a bracing memoir about growing up, and about moving through the world in search of meaning and belonging.
The Stories We Tell by Joanna Gaines
"The only way to break free was to rewrite my story. Because something would happen every time my pen stopped: it was like my soul was coming back to my body. Like the deepest parts of me that got knocked around and drowned out by all the crap I let the world convince me about who I was came back to the surface. And what was left was only what was real and true. I was, finally, standing in the fullness of my story. I felt hopeful. I felt full. Our story may crack us open, but it also pieces us back together.
We all have a story to tell. This happens to be mine--every chapter a window into who I am, the journey I'm on, and the season I'm in right now. Because this is my story, maybe you won't always relate, or maybe it will feel like you're looking in a mirror. Whatever we have in common and whatever differences lie between us, I only hope my story can help shine a light on the beauty of yours. That my own soul work will stir something of your own. And that by the time you get to the end of my story, you're also holding the beautiful beginnings of your own.
A story only you can tell. And I hope that you will."

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Thanks....
Hi there. I don’t mind at all. Thanks for asking!
I think the characters I love are typically the result of circumstance or a reflection of my life at any particular given moment in time.
I split the list into Western Media and Japanese Media below the cut. Also, not sure I came up with 10 characters per se.
Western Media
In no particular order.
Ariel, the Little Mermaid
Tumblr media
Perhaps it was her archetypal journey that I loved so much, but when I was younger I used to looooove Ariel. I was super young but I just identified so much with her. I also have fond memories of my mom blow drying my hair to look like Ariel’s.
Belle, Beauty and the Beast
Tumblr media
Anyone who is proud to be a nerd and who can read a book while walking (because ain’t nobody got time to adult when you’re reading a good book) is a Queen in my book.
But I also really identify with her desire to get more out of her life than what the society of her time expected from her.
Also... she’s the OG millennial snob.
Little town, full of little people ♫.
Peggy Olson, Mad Men
Tumblr media
This girl is such an inspiration. Peggy worked her way up the ladder in a male-dominated world by demonstrating her very unique ability for story-telling. I loved watching her growth and even if I didn’t like how the ending of her character arc was executed, I agree that the way her life unfolded was the natural course of her personal growth.
I think since I work in Marketing and love using graphic design as a form of visual storytelling to persuade, I find her character even more relatable. Even her bitchy self is highly relatable to me lol.
Mary Crawley/Talbot, Downton Abbey (that’s right, did you ever imagine that this girl who reads battle Shonen manga would also love watching historical British drama?)
Tumblr media
I love Mary. She’s beautiful, elegant, and intelligent. But above all, she knows her mind.
As for her character arc, I loved watching her break away from the expectations set upon her by society. She went from this girl who was just waiting to be rescued, to a woman in charge of her own destiny.
Samantha Jones, Sex and the City
Tumblr media
Samantha, my girl. Sexually liberated, a successful entrepreneur, and living in Manhattan, Samantha was someone who built her own success but not at the expense of her femininity.
She is the ultimate girl boss, so her character arc revolved more around softening up and becoming available for intimacy--something I love about her.
Japanese media
1. Sumeragi Subaru, Tokyo Babylon, x/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Tumblr media
I adore him. That’s all. My soul feels like Subaru is a kindred soul.
2. Fushiguro Megumi, Jujutsu Kaisen
Tumblr media
I’ve written extensively about him so to keep it short here I’ll say that he’s very relatable. I love how he overcomes his own self-imposed limitations and steps into a version of himself beyond his imagination.
He’s also a little cray-cray and a well-written closet sadist is always a fave in my books.
3. Ichihara Yuko, xxxHolic, xxxHolic Rei, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Tumblr media
She’s a Queen. Period.
I have to admit I don’t love her the way I love Subaru and Megumi, but Yuko is simply amazing. I want to be a space time witch like her when I grow up and that’s why she makes this list.
Some old school faves worth mentioning are...
- Tomoe Hotaru/Mistress 9 and Kaio Michiru (Sailor Moon S)
- Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing)
- Athrun Zala (Gundam Seed)
Newer faves include:
- Sakurazuka Seishiro (Tokyo Babylon, x/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle)
Tumblr media
He is both one of the most complex and stupid characters ever.
- Fai D. Flourite (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Tsubasa World Chronicle)
- Twelve (Zankyou no Terror)
- Shin-Ah (Akatsuki no Yona)
- Hiyakawa Rihito (Sankaku Mado no Sotogawa wa Yoru)
Tumblr media
Anyways, thank you for asking!
I’ve shared my fave animanga characters before, but it was fun to compile the list of Western Media faves because it made me realize the reason I hardly ever like any female characters in anime and manga is because there is hardly any representation for the kind of feminine character archetype I like--independent woman who forges her own destiny.

I want you to know that I've been exactly where you are, and I believe in you together. We're awakening the world.  (01:12): Hi, my soul family. I am beyond excited to dive deep today into a special, special podcast. So if you have been binging my podcast, you will know that I've been doing a solo podcast for some time now. And part of the reason why was because I had the show good morning, LA land, and I interviewed 3,600 people on that show. And so when I began the podcast, I actually had no other intention of just having it be a creative expression for me to express the incredible teachings that we teach in metaphysics and universal law and spiritual psychology and all that stuff. But guess what? It's a new chapter and I am beyond excited. I'm getting chills right now because I, I wanna bring you more story. I wanna bring you the heart. I wanna bring you podcasts that have you get chills that have you realize and have a revelation that has you transcend and transform by knowing truth.  (02:09): And how do we know truth? The best is by story by actually experiencing someone's life and seeing them transcend and transform the dark into the light. So today I am so honored because this first guest is such a love. So Lindsay, Kara carte is an incredible leader in society. She has personally touched my heart in such a way, because I have witnessed her go through such a transformation, but I saw her commitment from the very first day I met her and who she is today is somebody that touches so many lives. She has a podcast herself on sobriety and a bunch of stuff, but we're gonna go all through that. But what I want to do is I want her to share her story so that whoever is listening to know that wherever you are in your trauma, no matter what you've gone through in this life, if Lindsay can do this, you can do this. So today is confessions of a recovered addict. Hi Lindsay, how are you?  (03:17): Hello? Hello, Dr. Erin and community. So happy to be here. Thank you.  (03:23): So I, I want you to share your heart with me and the community today. And I don't even know if I've heard your whole story from your childhood all the way through the trauma that you experienced and kind of the dysfunction that you know, I know you and I, and all of us have gone through, right? I want, I would love for you to really paint the picture for us of where you came from. Where did you grow up? How did the trauma start? What were those incidences for you and how did you come to deciding that you wanted to heal? And then of course, after that, I want you to take us through actually what it was to help you transform in doing that inner deep work. So tell me, where do you grow up? Where are you actually from?  (04:09): So I grew up in PAC Kong, New Jersey. Um, both of my parents were together and I was the middle of three children. I had an older sister and I have a younger brother. It was a small town. I went, I started school and we had a lot of nature around us. And I was, my childhood was by any external standards. It was comfortable. My dad worked hard. He was gone most of the week. He commuted and he made decent money. So we were relatively comfortable and he would always put us first when it came to money. So we always had stuff and we always had experiences. And my mom was home when we were younger. So she was a stay at home mom. She was always there. She was able to, you know, be there cooking dinner and have us, you know, eating together as a family. And, but I also found it challenging. And I found that my dad's anger and his rage and his drinking would really affect me.  (05:13): So take me there, take me to one incident that you remember as a child, take me there.  (05:19): So I'm five years old and I'm hiding in this hallway closet of our house with my sister. And there's this, there's this slanted wooden floor. Cause the hallway is above the stairs that go down. So there's this slanted floor and I'm behind all of these winter coats and it's dark. We're hiding in there as my parents are fighting and I can just hear it's muffled, but my parents are right in the living room and it's, it's quiet at first. And at first it was like a joke. We were hiding in there and, and it was meant to be something funny. And so we're still kind of giggling, but then I hear my dad and his voice is raising. And, and there's just, there's something about his tone that as I'm there and I'm behind the coats, I can, I can hear in his tone and I am sitting on the floor of this closet, holding myself up and I can feel that my whole body starts to just tense up because I, I know it's coming.  (06:23): I know that anger's about to come. And the next thing I know, it's like the, the damn opens and he's yelling and he's cursing at my mom and they're fighting about money again. And I just, you know, I hear every few words and, and he's yelling at her about these fucking kids and you spend money on this and I'm just contracting more and more. As I'm sitting in this closet, it's already a tight space. And, and my older sister's next to me and all of a sudden what was meant to be fun and games becomes like this, this like claustrophobic prison. And, and I can feel my own tension because everything in me is like, just, we have to be quiet. I have to be quiet. You can't know we're in here. You can't know we're in here. And as I've been listening to them fight, and I'm listening to him, yell at my mom, I'm, I'm getting Angerer and angrier.  (07:19): And there's a very real part of me that wants to bust out and yell at him. But I'm five. And I absolutely know it's not safe for me to be angry at him because I've learned what happens when that happens. So I shut it down. I shut down my anger. And as I'm sitting in there with her, I'm just feeling more and more powerless. And in that moment, I feel like I hate my dad. I hate, I hate him. I hate the way he's talking to her. And I think we ended up sliding down the floor and the door opens. So then all of a sudden his attention turns to us. And as his attention turns to us and he starts directing his rage at us and he's yelling, you fucking kids, and it's always something and hemorrhaging money and money's going in faster than I can make it. And he's just so pissed and angry. And my mom tries to, she says, it's not their fault, not their fault. And she puts her hand out and he then just unleashes on her again. Oh, sure. You're always defending her. And I'm just frozen. You know, I'm just frozen in that moment as this child where I just, I wanna fight. I wanna run. I wanna get angry.  (08:33): Lindsay, what did you decide about yourself in that moment?  (08:36): Yeah, that I'm just, I have no fucking power. I have no power. I have no control. I hate my parents. It's my fault. Yeah.  (08:46): Thank you. Here you are. You have a somewhat what you would consider a normal family for whatever that is. You have some traumas that are going on early. How old were you when that first one began?  (09:00): I would say probably four or five. Maybe six at the most. Yeah. Mm-hmm <affirmative> but I remember the fighting, like from, from the get go.  (09:07): So it happened all the time. It was, it was consistent. Yeah. Okay. And then, and we're, you know, as we know, we're talking about, you know, Ace's adverse childhood experience type of things, right. And as Lindsay knows, we don't necessarily in spiritual psychology, you know, say that there's big traumas and little traumas. What we really look for from a spiritual perspective and from a sole perspective is what was the imprinting that happened within Lindsay? What decisions did she make about herself? What divided perspective, what happened? So, Lindsay, tell me a little bit about how you see what happened from here. Take us through it again, really about like where you went from here. You were, you grew up, you were having dysfunction in the family, obviously some really tumultuous arguments. Mm-hmm <affirmative> so then what happened? What happened from there?  (09:52): Yeah. Well, from that moment, I think that it really was, I just decided I was powerless. So as I went through my li the rest of my life, I was just constantly, I was a great student and I was just so capable in school and I really liked school. And my first place of, I guess, escape or addiction was probably books. So I would just lose myself in books and I would drown out the world in books, um, because it just was like, I never felt comfortable. I never felt at ease. And it, there was a very, you know, you say the divided perspective. Right. And when I really think back from within me, it's like that divided perspective was always there because it was like my intuition, my inherent knowing was like, you know, this is, this is a problem. This is dysfunctional. Or, you know, whatever, whatever you wanna call it.  (10:45): I mean, now I can, you know, obviously I see the perfection in all of it, but at the time I, there was, it was a problem. But on the outside, I was constantly being told how great my family was. Right. Because we materially had things and both of my parents were there. And, um, a few years after that, we ended up moving onto a lake house. Right. So on the outside, there was very much this picture of, oh, this is a great family. And so I started making myself more and more wrong for how I felt about my family, because I was angry. <laugh> makes, I was, makes sense. So angry at them. Yeah. <laugh>  (11:24): So take us in the timeline. So here you were at young when you really realized and had some, obviously big kind of traumas, if you will, of decisions and things, and then what happened you, so you dived into school and then what happened? Timeline wise, like where, what began in your life? What was, what was going on?  (11:43): I would say, yeah. So all through middle school, timeline wise, all through middle school, I continued my great grades on a role gifted and talented cheerleading, gymnastics, softball. I was just doing all the things. And then right about seventh or eighth grade, I just completely took a U-turn, you know, and I can remember, I remember sitting there in my English class and looking at my teacher and just feeling so angry and just being like, I don't care anymore. I don't care anymore. And I just stopped doing my work and I stopped handing in my assignments. And, you know, in hindsight, I know it was because I was just going the reverse rebellion. But at that moment, I just was like, I don't care anymore. And I started rebelling and I, I remember I stole my first pack of cigarettes right around into eighth grade and smoked them in the woods with one of my friends.  (12:41): And it was like this thrilling experience where I was doing what I wanted for the first time. And very quickly from there, it just kind of snowballed as I moved into high school and I got more and more rebellious and I just fell more deeply into this identity of I don't care. And it's kind of wild because even through high school, when I was like, I don't care, there was a very real part of me that wanted to go back to doing the sports and the good grades and the things that I loved, because I really did love that stuff. But this other part of me was more in control. And, and I spiraled through, I, I, I fell into like the punk rock music scene. And so that music just fueled my anger at society and my anger at my parents. And I just started really pushing everybody away.  (13:33): And the whole spiral of drug use, you know, it started with the alcohol would steal booze or beers out of, you know, our parents' liquor, closets and progressed to marijuana. And then it progressed to hallucinogens and then it progressed to cocaine. And then once I graduated high school, I fell in with a crowd who was all doing heroin. And at first, when I started hanging out with those people and I was dating one, and he was like, my second boyfriend ever. And I, he was older than me. His name was Dave, and I just thought he was like the coolest thing. And it was just another experience of me looking at this person outside of myself, like, oh, you're gonna be my savior. And <laugh> when I found out that he was a heroin addict, I actually broke up with him. And I was like, well, I can't do that. I looked at everything. I had been doing all the other drugs I was doing. And I still felt like I was in control. And I was looking at the people who were heroin addicts. And I was like, well, they're out of control. So I can't do that. I was super judgey about it. <laugh>  (14:42): Mm-hmm <affirmative> so tell me, take us, take us then. Thank you so much for being so real and vulnerable. Cause I know that you're helping somebody out there right now. You know, if you take a look at Lindsay and, and you go, oh, she came from a decent family, you know, oh, she just may have been a bad, bad seed. And she got into drugs and alcohol or whatever. But when people really start pulling the layers back, it's important to understand how there's always a cause there's always a cause for all division of mind and, and people kind of harming themselves if you will. So take me to an incident mm-hmm <affirmative> during your alcohol or drug use. I want you to tell me what was the darkest moment for me, take me there in a virtual share.  (15:21): So I think really it was where the, the, the split really solidified. And that was, I was about 19 years old and I was standing in my mother's bedroom. My well, my mother and fathers, they were still together. I was standing in their bedroom in our lake house and I can see the wood floor, just beautiful wood floors that they had and laid in the house. And I'm, I'm dope sick because I'm strung out. And this has been going on for about two months, but I feel completely out of control. And I'm standing in the doorway of her bedroom, nobody's home. And I make the decision that I'm, I'm gonna take her jewelry and I'm gonna go sell it in that moment that I'm standing there. I'm so torn because there's a very real part of me that doesn't want to do it. And then there's this other very real part.  (16:13): That's like, I have to do this. I have to, I can't, I don't have a choice. And so I go and I raid her drawer and I take some of her jewelry. And in that moment, I'm just in the back of my head, I just say to myself, like, this is, this is what you've become. And in that moment, I just decided like, I am a loser and this is what I have become. And I take you to that moment because I feel like it was the moment where I just fully gave up the fight I gave up trying to even be who I really was. And I just succumbeded to that, that what I thought at the time was, you know, some dark power inside of me, but now I know it was really just me and my addiction and my path.  (17:01): You don't know when you see somebody and the world, it can be so judgemental around addiction and somebody who does heroin and like, Ooh, that is like really dark and like stay with, they must be the devil. And like, but you need to know, like, if you're listening right now, Lindsay is, she's like literally one of the most loving human beings I've ever met, she is completely so consistent of who she shows up for as a leader as like, like, so the point is this let's not give up on our sisters and brothers out there. Mm-hmm  (17:35): <affirmative>,  (17:35): Mm-hmm <affirmative> I mean, truly. And truly it says right now in, even in America, that 10% of Americans are dealing with drug addiction. Okay. That's not taking into account of people that might be mildly, you know, going off the sideways or even 90%. They're saying of people that are dealing with codependency, which we're gonna dive into that more as well. The point is, this is Lindsay. Today is somebody who leads in an incredible community in society. She has a podcast, she has high end clients. She coaches, she serves she's in a great relationship. She's somebody that you would never in a million years think somebody who was doing heroin and who you are today. And this is years. It's not like, you know, she's been on the wagon for a while, right? I mean, this is amazing and you are a true Testament of what's possible.  (18:35): And so I want you to now really talk about, obviously we've been doing E four trauma method and you are, Lindsay is trained at an E four trauma method. She's trained in metaphysics, metaphysics of mine. She's trained in spiritual psychology coaching. She is now actually in a teacher's speaker ministerial kind of law of attraction program that we have. She leads, uh, many, many women and men weekly and has tons of clients and is very, you know, who you are is, is unrecognizable, but also you're even unrecognizable for the average person. That's never even, you know, had an addiction with any kind of substance. You are way, way, way above average. So please help me and help the people listening, take us through your actual journey, through the work in society of like, what was it, what was it that really helped you really do that inner healing?  (19:31): Definitely. I would say two things for sure. Number one, the trauma work, the E four trauma method, the subconscious we're programming has been such a catalyst. I, I, I always teach it like this, you know, it's like when we have trauma inside and in our consciousness and our bodies and we're holding it, it's like that trauma is what really creates those walls of separation within ourselves first and foremost, but then also us against the world or us feeling separate from the world. And so it's like great, because before I came to society, I was studying a lot of this stuff, but I just wasn't able to embody it because I was still in that sabotage. So when I found Dr. Aaron, when I found society and I came in here and I was exposed to E for trauma method, I was just blown away by cuz even that moment I was sharing about when I decided, okay, I'm this loser, right?  (20:27): It's like, there was so much charge around that when I got here that I didn't even know about. And I remember it was about two months in and I was, I was going through an E four trauma method and that event came up and I, I could see, so clearly that, that had been one of the driving commands. Why I wasn't able to have success before coming in here. I was constantly sabotaging because the commanding story was I'm a loser. Mm. And so that E four trauma method, it just, it really truly creates the space. Right. It reads the garden. It, it pulls up all of those emotional, like it's like there's cinder blocks that when we have trauma and I mean, it doesn't matter, like you just said, Dr. Earn, right. It doesn't matter how big or small the traumas are. It's like those cinder blocks of emotion are in there.  (21:15): And until we move them out, we can't put something new in. So that backed by, you know, our spiritual, our spiritual work, our spiritual practitioner work, um, just the re coming back into the reclaiming of my understanding and connection with the idea of spirit, the idea of the divine, you know, God, if you wanna call it that, whatever anybody wants to call it, I've just moved past the need to have, let it have one name because it's my understanding of spirit and that I am that right. And so it's that knowingness that I feel like, you know, spirit, God does for us, what we can't do for ourselves. And I feel like through you bringing E four, bringing your, your methods of subconscious reprogramming, bringing that to us, us then coming back into our own healing. And, and me being able to reconnect with my own divine spark, it's just creates this whole unification within me where I've just like, I've become this version of myself that I always knew was in there mm-hmm <affirmative>, but was like locked in a page.  (22:27): What's interesting about what you said, uh, describing from doing the inner work, the trauma work and the subconscious work, and then also really having self revelation of who you are, which is interesting because we say in our line of work, which is metaphysical and spiritual, you know, deep, deep soul work that they, the answer for addiction, if you will, doesn't matter if you're a workaholic or a love addict or co-dependent, or even drug addict, doesn't matter. What matters is the answer is oneness, which is interesting. Cause that's exactly what you describe, which is oneness, which is because the addict, which of course, as you know, and all my audience knows, I went through major, major codependency and I had an agent disorder as well when I was 17 to 20. So I've dealt with my battles for sure. And feeling so alone and feeling so divided and you know, your commands as Lindsay said.  (23:21): So what we do in E four as well is we, we really do that deep work neutralizing, those, those incidents that happen that had us decide. So we say in spiritual psychology versus psychology, psychology, mostly measures. What happened to you from everything from adverse childhood experiences? And so far, it was like, what's the big trauma versus a little trauma. And we in spiritual psychology don't necessarily measure that as much as we measure what happened in mind, we measure what decisions did Lindsay decide in those high frequent states of emotions. And you said, I'm powerless. I don't care. And I'm a loser. And I'm here to say, Lindsay, cuz I know you've declared something new. You are so powerful. And I know that you care so much of how you show up in such love and you are a leader and I'm just getting a little teary right now because this is the butterfly fight. I want you right now, out there. There's somebody listening right now. And if it's not you, maybe it's someone, you know, that's struggling with co-dependency or addiction to a substance, whatever. Please send this to them. Okay. Because if they can hear somebody like Lindsay's story, to be able to understand how dark she went and who she is today, what's possible from one person because Lindsay touches lots of people and you should check out her podcast. Lindsay, what's the name of your podcast? Sobriety.  (24:47): Sobriety. Yeah, the sobriety, the podcast.  (24:50): It's such a great name by the way. I love that name. It's so awesome.  (24:53): Well, I feel like sobriety is really that's that's my Testament to this work, right? Because it really is like through, through the trauma work that we do and coming back into my own connection with spirit, it really is it, you know, sobriety like the physical sobriety from drugs and alcohol was the first step of the journey. But what I was really seeking was that connection with my soul again. And that's, that's what it's all  (25:19): About and tell them where they can find you on social media and your website.  (25:24): Totally. So on Facebook I'm there, you can find me Lindsay Jones or at Lynn I'm on Instagram a lot at, I am Lynn   (25:34): So good. So I would love for you to do what I am calling a spiritual scientific prayer because I think it's time. I think it's time that the world understands that we absolutely can measure the soul. We can measure the soul by what out pictures into one's life. We call it the vibrational match, the mentally equivalent and Lindsay, I would be so honored if you would know the truth for, for us and for everyone out there that is whether they're still struggling with an addiction or whether they're just wanting to know the truth right here. And right now  (26:10): I would love that. Thank you. So let's all just take a deep breath in together. Just really breathe into that expansion. That knowingness, as I just recognize that that truth is all around us. Just letting go, just letting go of any tension, any idea of needing to know or control or figure it out. And in this moment, I truly, truly, truly just, I recognize I feel it in every cell of my being, I know the truth and that truth is oneness. It's that we are all one. We are all the one spirit reflected here inform as these beautiful individuals that each and every one of you are that I am that Erin is that we all are. And just looking out, knowing fully to all one thing, there is no separation. The truth is one is the truth is unity. And just recognizing that the separation exists in mind and knowing that we fully perfectly created, I fully perfectly created it so that I could come into this, knowing this remembrance, this resurrection, this redemption, just coming back into the truth, which I never could have recognized if I hadn't stepped out of it.  (27:25): And so just fully recognizing in this moment, as we see it and the cycles of nature, and we see it in the days and the nights, and we see it all around us, there is no separation looking at the trees, the leaves, the roots, recognizing there's no separation in that tree. It's all the one thing. And it's connected to the earth and it is the earth. And so too, are we just knowing fully that I am this beautiful expression of the divine mind? The infinite infinite intelligence is each and every one of you are that. And what I know to be true is that the true calling, the yearning, the desire from within your hearts and minds, that is the truth just as it was for me. And I know that right here, right now, each and every one of you, me, all of us, we are just awakening.  (28:09): We are coming into this, knowing this, we are revealing, we are healing. And I'm so grateful to know that this truth is the truth and that it is already done. I'm so grateful to know that there is liberation, there is freedom and that desire for liberation, that desire for expression, that desire for joy and love and harmony and prosperity, whatever it is that you are desiring freedom. It is there, it is available. It is waiting for you. It's already done. It's who you are. It's who I am. And I just declared. It's done. I know it's done in my mind. It's done, it's done. It's done for each and every one of us. And I'm just in so much humble gratitude for the journey. As I look out upon the life, and I know the absolute perfection of my whole journey, I know the absolute perfection of each and every one of you that is listening to this.  (28:56): I know the perfection of your own journeys, and I know that you're being shaped and molded and forged in the fires of whatever it is you are experiencing. And it's perfect. And by design, and what I know to be true is that you are here for a purpose and that all of the pain, all of the suffering, all of the struggle is for a purpose. It's part of your mission. It's part of your purpose. It's part of your expression and it's who you were born to be. And so right now I just declare that each and every one of you are recognizing that and remembering that and declaring that and stepping forth into that, as I say yes to you being in that expression of that, I see each and every one of you in my heart and every cell of my being, as they light up with just the chills of the knowing of truth, that if you're listening to this, you're listening to this for a reason. And it is your divine calling coming forth right here, right now for you to step into your purpose. And I'm just in so much gratitude, as I say, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Knowing my word is law, knowing that I have all of the power and that is the most liberating thing ever. And knowing that I don't have to figure it out because the law does it. And I just release my word up, knowing it is done and heard. And so it  (30:02): Is. And so it is so beautifully said, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So beautifully said so again, if you, or something, you know, is dealing with addiction, please seek medical help within society. We train and develop and help soul based entrepreneurs, coaches and leaders monetize their spiritual gifts. So we don't deal with active addiction or PTSD or mental health disorders. As a group, we do however, have trained practitioners and E four trauma method, coaches and teachers that can take one-on-ones. You can actually reach out to [email protected] where you can reach out on my social media or go to our website. Three iHeart Podcasts For Women: Fashion: Past-Due Female Recognition; Katie
Tumblr media
If TV can do it, why can't podcasting. Networks like Lifetime and Hallmark program shows that appeal to women. Therefore, it's only fair that iHeartPodcasts has several excellent podcasts for women.
To be clear, podcasting has podcast networks that are female-owned, such as Critical Frequency and Earios.
First up is Climbing In Heels, which just returned every Friday for season three. If you didn't know (I did not), Rachel Zoe is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most powerful fashion authorities. She welcomed audiences into her fast-paced life as an A-list stylist on her Bravo show, The Rachel Zoe Project and her fashion brand is known globally.  The podcast's marketing pitch is: "Host Rachel Zoe’s podcast Climbing In Heels promises to be your weekly dose of glamour, inspiration and fun!"
I listened to an episode with celebrity stylist Dani Michelle, whose clients include Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner. Zoe is a sold host, keeping down the melodrama in favor of sharing her expertise and that of her guests with her listeners. The January 2024 episode with Kroma wellness founder Lisa Odenweller discussing health and nutrition was informative, and kudos to Zoe for not turning it into a Kroma commercial spot. I think the best episode is the March 29, 2024, show with actor Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Meadow Soprano on the hit HBO TV series The Sopranos.  While Sigler continued to work in the entertainment industry after the show ended, she was diagnosed with MS, which she didn’t share publicly for 16 years. Zoe does a superb job as host, as Sigler discusses her career, motherhood, and MS.
Season three promises, "Conversations with incredible women across many industries, from models and beauty industry stars to doctors, entrepreneurs and TV personalities, and Rachel will be sharing her insight and knowledge of her over 20-year career in fashion."
Next, we have Womanica. Here is their marketing pitch: "Historically, women have been told to make themselves smaller, to diminish themselves. Some have used that idea to their advantage, disappearing into new identities. For others, a disappearance was the end to their stories, but the beginning of a new chapter in their legacies."
I listened to several episodes and loved the show. Its premise of women not getting the attention, respect, adulation, and recognition they deserve for their contributions is inspired and so overdue.
Every episode starts with the title "Disappearing Acts." Then the five-minute episode highlights a woman whose contributions have been overlooked by history and society.
There's an episode on Fanny Eaton (1835-1924), who was a model and muse for dozens of iconic paintings from the pre-Raphaelite era. Her face can be found in museums around the world, and yet she remains unnamed and overlooked even today. Jean Ritchie (1922-2015) was the mother of folk music. She was an instrumental voice in the American folk music revival of the 1940s and 60s, and introduced a traditional dulcimer sound to a wider audience. Sophie Germain (1776-1831) was a French mathematician and physicist who contributed to the study of acoustics, elasticity, and number theory. She was forced to assume a fake male identity to have her work taken seriously, but her efforts paved the way for further breakthrough discoveries in mathematics.
Take your pick. It's a daily show. Womanica is a podcast for everyone. For all those male-oriented podcasts where the host whines about men playing second fiddle to women and minorities, please listen to some of these episodes about women who made major contributions for little or no recognition.
Finally, we have Katie Couric. Unlike other celebrities jumping on the podcasting bandwagon like carpetbaggers and scalawags, Couric began her podcasting career long before it was cool to be in podcasting. Ten years ago, a celebrity starting a podcast often elicited a "what happened to their career" comments.
Couric has done a nice job with her show. Last week, iHeartPodcasts
and Katie Couric Media announced the launch of the ninth season of Next Question with Katie Couric.
The marketing pitch is: "Katie is back on the mic for a new season, promising listeners intimate and unexpected conversations with some of the world’s most interesting and influential people."
The season premiere serves up Couric with Kris Jenner to talk about Kardashian-Jenner stuff. If you're into that, you'll love it.
