Meet the Maker is here again yay. I love to take part in this challenge it’s a great way to find out lots more about the people I love to follow, and to let you, lovely person into more of my world. Day 1:- Brand Origin I have sewn all my life as well as knitting, crochet, lace making, anything textile related you can do with your hands. So when I got the chance to start making for a living, I jumped straight in. I made 50s style dresses to start, then millinery before discovering the world of Dolls. And then I was hooked. I had found my happy place. I went by the name Honey Pot Creations to start as it encompassed everything and I had (and still do) have a tendency to call everyone honey. So the Dolls became Honey Pot Dolls and my first range of button jointed cloth dolls I called Bees Knees Art Dolls to fit with the theme. Well, before long I found myself moving away further from children’s doll as I discovered Art Dolls on Pinterest and here on Instagram. Learning to work with different clays let me really find my creative side. And with that a more grown up branding was called for, so I stepped out of the Honey Pot and called myself Alison Jackson Art Dolls as you see now. I feel I have come a long way since my first doll award back in 2015. I still find it hard to think of myself as an artist, I think a lot of us suffer from imposter syndrome. But, I am starting to believe especially after winning 2 awards in Doll Prague last November. I’m still uber excited about that. I really love the colours of my brand now, as you can see as I make a lot of dolls using these colours. Heute gibt es von @justine_thereadingmermaid beim #autor_innensonntag mein absolutes Lieblingsthema die Recherche. Ich recherchiere für mein Leben gern und je mehr Recherchematerial umso besser. Meist verwende ich geschätzt davon 10-20%, wohl eher weniger. Warum dann so viel Material? Ganz einfach. Das Wissen gibt mir Sicherheit mich nicht auf dünnem Eis zu bewegen und eine gut recherchierte Geschichte bin ich als Autorin meinen Lesern schuldig. Ich möchte ihnen keinen Murks vorsetzen. Bei meiner Recherche nutze ich Bücher, Dokumentationen, das Internet oder wende mich an Fachleute. Was ich nicht mache sind Recherchereisen oder Experimente. Wie geht ihr bei eurer Recherche vor? Heute startet die #instagramchallenge der @die_feldbergerin, eines Frauen Netzwerks im Taunus. Da nehme ich doch gern die heutige Tagesfrage als Gelegenheit, mich auch bei allen vorzustellen, die mich noch nicht kennen 🤩 Mein Name ist Michaela Schiffer, ich bin 57 Jahre alt, mit dem besten Mann der Welt verheiratet und Inhaberin von Vivamundo Reisen und Frauenreisen Weltweit. Das erfordert definitiv viel Übung und Können, aber es lohnt sich. Wozu benötige ich nun einen Pitch? Z.B. für den Klappentext. Ein Pitch ist auch die Antwort auf die Frage: Worum geht es in deiner Geschichte? Mit einem einzigen Satz umreiße ich mein Werk, in dem ich möglicherweise den Konflikt benenne, eine bestimmte Atmosphäre schaffe, eine Frage aufwerfe, die förmlich nach einer Antwort schreit… mit einem genialen Pitch wecke ich bei potentiellen Lesern das Interesse.
