It's my hc that the Bats are freaky good with their intuition, and it drives the JL mad. Why? Because Batman gets cranky if someone deviates from the plan and his lectures last for 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴. On the flip side, he or the Birds will suddenly freeze, stare at seemingly nothing, and then force everyone to take long detours out of nowhere. When asked what the hell is going on, all they say is they "got a feeling."
Most of the JL is comprised of metahumans or nonhumans so they straight up don't understand what is going on. The non-metahumans also don't understand why the Bats trust their gut instict so much.
I hc that the Bats trust their feeling so well because Bruce taught them to be more observant than the rest of the population, and because of some specific training of Bruce's. He learned it before he became Batman.
Out of all the bats, Jason is the best with his intuition because of his training with All Caste.
After Jason, Cass is the best with feeling out people. It's not because she can read their intentions through their body language. It's a proven instict based on that one guy she didn't like 3 years before they committed their first major crime.
Dick is the best at situational intuition and "reading a room." If he suddenly tenses, the Bats trust that instinct for trouble.
Tim has the best foreboding instinct because he's dealt with so much stupid shit that it might as well be a 6th sense.

Dick, exhausted Eldest Daughter, in desperate need of time alone: *looks out of his apartment’s window*

Pov: you’re eelektross and while you can’t distinguish individual words of the human lexicon, you sure understand the vibes (and the vibes are not to your favor).
Also an emmet that’s perfectly normal about his joltiks:

Jason’s allergic to asking for help from Batman, sure. Maybe he thinks Bruce won’t help without an agreement to follow his code, maybe he thinks Bruce will help and is afraid of that, but for whatever reason, he’s not going to ask Batman for help. But he’s also not incapable of realizing that he really, really needs help right now.
So he calls up his replacement and tells Tim that if he helps out with this one trafficking ring before they leave Gotham tonight, he’ll stop trying to kill him.
Well, Tim agrees of course, and he sees an opportunity. Not to increase his own likelihood of survival, but to bring Jason home. All he needs is a foothold, and Jason just offered it up on a golden platter.
The mission goes off without a hitch. Two days later, Tim shows up in the middle of Red Hood’s patrol with a flash drive of information. And Red Hood tells Tim that he better go away, because promising no lethal force doesn’t mean he can’t do any damage. Tim just shrugs. Jason doesn’t know it, but he’s already lost.
Two months later, Tim is sitting in one of Jason’s safehouses that he wasn’t supposed to know about, while Jason is making cookies and ranting about George Wickham. Suddenly, he freezes. It occurs to him how insane this is. Two months ago he wanted the Replacement dead, and now he’s making cookies after they teamed up to play a revenge prank on Bruce. “How did this even happen?” He asks Tim in horror.
Tim grabs a cookie, takes a bite menacingly and says: “You know the book, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? I’m the mouse.”

Phantom kidnapped Lois to fight Superman.
Danny wants a good fight since he is stuck in DC verse.
Lois wasn't sure as she looked at the young Meta boy, maybe Jon's age, who seemed to be really happy. He didn't seem like a villain.
And after a short talk, she learned it. The boy, Phantom, had kidnapped her next to her sidekick, Clark Kent,(his words) in public to get Superman to fight him.
After all, any time Clark saw her getting kidnapped, Superman came.
He says something about Superman playing with the rest, and he wants to join. He missed a good fight!
Lois wanted to laugh; it's kind of cute, as she noticed Phantom had just kidnapped her so Superman could go all out in a fight!
Yeah, that won't work. Clark has super hearing and knows the truth, so the poor boy won't get into a fight.
+
Danny is bored since he was struck in this universe and no ghost attacked him. His damn ghost instincts scream fight and battle! And he will do it. As a Baby Ghost it's worse then adults one and he then saw a Alien!
He will get his Fight With a Alien!!

Oh wow it's been *checks watch* since July of 2022 since the last page of Instinct. I think it's been long enough. We finally have finished what I consider the rescue arc. The next is the last arc and Instinct will official be done. Thank you guys for sticking with it, despite the many hiatuses it went through. :')

[ID in ALT] Steph and Damian doodle! This taps a bit into their pre-52 dynamic so that's what I was thinking design wise at first but I wanted to draw it w their more recent designs as well to stay hashtag current and topical, so you get both/a fusion, lol

Jason absolutely knew about Gotham and street smarts and Gotham street smarts before he met Bruce. But he needed Batman to take something like “don’t stop at any lights on lower fifth, you’ll get robbed” to “don’t stop at any lights on lower fifth; and if someone comes up to rob you here’s what you do to get away or fight them off.”

Guess what I finally finished today!
GAWD, I kind of knew a bit about Ortho's origin, but I was not expecting it to hit me so hard. There was much tears, and now I have to attempt Chapter 7.
Also that first panel makes it look like I gave Idia killer cheekbones but it's just his hair.
