Being prepared in an emergency situation is crucial, especially for people living with diabetes. One vital aspect to consider is a well-stocked diabetic kit, which can be a lifesaver during unforeseen circumstances. An essential resource to consider when preparing these kits is a dependable medical supply in Aurora, Colorado.

The prevalence of diabetes has been increasing steadily in recent years, which has spurred the demand for glucose meters. Around 1.5 million deaths directly caused by diabetes were recorded by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019. Due to its ease of use and flexibility, continuous glucose monitoring has surpassed the previous invasive method in terms of popularity.

the whole insulin pen situation makes me incredibly sad and obviously like. this part is minor in the grand scheme of things. but I remember being a type 1 diabetic child. & the pens hurt way way less than the syringes bc the needles are much shorter. and I can't imagine already being in such an awful situation & then having to go to syringes, which are typically pretty long & painful for a child (& hell, for many adults as well). so even if they do manage to get their hands on syringes + vials instead of pens and don't go into dka.... like it just has to suck. and it's again such a relatively minor thing but sometimes the small things are made way worse by an already bad situation :/ it's just needless cruelty

most of this is defo stuff i was Already Aware Of but jeez seeing it laid out like this is. a lot.
turns out having a capitalist system that relies on addiction and trapping consumers into a single brand with patented refills can suck a lot actually

I'm getting better at jabbing my old cat with insulin twice a day.
The trick is to do it fast and as a surprise. Find the cat (usually lying on the heated floor tiles in the bathroom), do a little tent with her skin, jab with the teeny tiny needle of the pen at the base of that tent, push the button on the pen, hold for a few seconds, then run.
(she has a lot to say, but prefers to try to go away than attack me. Of the two cats I'm glad she's the one getting the medication, because with Balbina it's damn hard to use a dewormer on her skin, not to mention give her a jab of anything. She runs away at the tiniest suspicion someone's trying to grab her. I can't use two hands on her. Except patting her butt. Sometimes.)
