The Magic of Everyday: How I Find Witchcraft in the Ordinary.
🌿🌕✨
Do you ever stop to marvel at the enchantment that surrounds us, hidden in plain sight? As I delve deeper into my journey of practicing witchcraft, I've come to realize that magic isn't just about casting grand spells or performing elaborate rituals—it's woven into the very fabric of our everyday lives.
🌟✨
Join me as I embark on this enchanting exploration of "The Magic of Everyday," where I'll reveal how I find witchcraft in the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary in the mundane.
🌟✨
Morning Brew, Morning Spells ☕🔮 Every morning, as the sun rises and the world awakens, I stand by the window, cradling my warm mug of tea or coffee, or in the summer months with iced drinks (I love an iced coffee!). With every sip, I imbue my drink with intentions of clarity and peace.
The Language of Plants and Crystals 🌿💎 During my daily walks, I've discovered a secret language spoken by the plants and crystals. The rustling leaves whisper ancient wisdom, while the sparkling crystals hum with energy. Nature, the most potent spell caster, teaches me to be still, listen, and learn.
Embracing the Elements 🌊🔥💨🌍 The elements surround us at all times, and recognising their presence is a powerful key to unlock everyday magic. I breathe in the fresh air, feel the earth beneath my feet, and let the rain cleanse my spirit. When I light a candle, I invoke the transformative power of fire. By connecting with the elements, I connect with the core of existence.
Enchanted Home Space 🏠✨ My home is my sacred space, a sanctuary for my craft. I've adorned it with little altars and candles, which I light to honour the spirits that reside within these walls. Cleansing my space with smoke incense purifies and refreshes the energy, filling the air with positive vibrations.
Moonlit Dream weaving 🌙🌌 Under the moon's tender gaze, I venture into the realm of dreams. I keep a dream journal by my bedside, capturing the mysteries that unfold during the night. In the gentle light of the moon, I feel closer to the universal energy that weaves us all together.
🌟✨
In the grand tapestry of life, there's magic in the ordinary—waiting for us to embrace it with wonder and gratitude. By cherishing these moments, we tap into the essence of witchcraft, where intention and reverence converge.
So, as you go about your day, remember to pause, breathe, and observe the magic that surrounds you. Whether it's in the flight of a butterfly, the sparkle of dew on a leaf, or the warmth of a friend's smile, the enchantment of everyday life awaits your discovery.
🌟✨

How to set personal intentions
Tumblr media
Hello friends! I get asked time and time again "what does this herb do?" or "What can I use this crystal for?" Im here to share that there is an easier way than collecting books, dozens of websites, and trying to memorize what everything is and why!
Where do correspondences come from?
Correspondences come from cultural adaptations of a specific tools usefulness! Another aspect is most of these stem from their medicinal uses as well. For example: The idea that calendula is for spiritual healing stems from the idea that many cultures use it for physical healing and it was used as a common cure-all With all that said, no 2 cultures will have the same intentions for the same tool. A crystal of protection in one culture may be a crystals of travel in another. This can get confusing and leads us to a modern day issue of watering down a tools usefulness and intentions. I see so many books that just say "Basil - Money, Luck, Banishing." But dont list why something is that way, where did it come from. I reposted a previous post about the importance of asking why something is, and I think it still holds up to this day. It not only gets your brain flowing, but it helps deepen your craft.
How do I find correspondences then?
First, if you want to take a more general and historic root, look into the history of a tool! If its a herb look at the general medicinal properties and why it can do what it does (Example: Basil is antimicrobial, and therefore healing, in a lot of cultures because of Eugenol, it is able to defend against protozoa and fungus). When it comes to crystals look into where its native too, where it grows, then do a cultural deep dive to explore the original connotations of a crystal. Now: You don't have to follow only this, this is just simply establishing a why.
After you have done all this, or even if you are still researching when you get a tool simply ask it what its for. You may find that your collection of mint is actually for safe travels, and your obsidian cant protect you from entities! This may contradict online sources but that's ok!!! your tools are unique to your space, revel in that! You have an arsenal at your disposal, enjoy that!
How do I ask?
First, grab the tool in between the palm of your hand, sit with it, and then ask "What can you assist me with" or if your about to start a spell "Are you the right tool for this job?" then let the tool speak to you via intuition. You will feel a sharp yes, no, or start to get a sense of what it does. If you are just starting to work on your intuition that's ok too, not only is this exercise great for strengthen that, it can be versatile. Adapt your questions into yes or no answers because our bodies have an easier time starting with that when producing energy.
With all that said I hope you all enjoyed! Keep asking questions and stay curious!

Herbalism 101: Bay Leaves
EP. 2
Tumblr media
Bay leaves are one of my absolute favorite herbs when cooking with intention. They are delicious and very common in tons of food cultures. On top of this, they are quite easily accessible.
Properties: Protection, healing, success
Uses in the Kitchen
Bay laurel, more commonly referred to as Bay leaves, is a very versatile plant. I often use it in cooking to flavor stocks or pickled goods. With such an aromatic flavor, it tastes great in hearty or acidic dishes. Tying a bunch together with bay leaves, rosemary, and thyme is a great way to add flavor to stock.
Uses in Healing
Bay leaves have a number of benefits when used in herbalism. Bay leaves do have many digestion related benefits. They can help with bloating and gas, in this case I usually use them to make a tea along with peppermint. The leaves are also good for treating certain skin ailments that do not involve broken skin, such as dandruff! Adding bay leaf oil into your hair care routine would be a good option.
Uses in Witchcraft
Bay leaves, particularly in witchcraft, are extremely versatile. One of the most common uses is setting intentions. The easiest way I have found to do this is to use a marker or candle wax to write out your intentions or a sigil onto the Bayleaf itself. I will often use this in simmer pots or cooking (if you are cooking with it, make sure it is a safe marker for that use). Some other ways to use this is burning they leave or putting it in your shoe to carry with you throughout the day.
Tips for Growing at Home
Bay leaves come from a tree called Bay Laurel. They can be grown inside and pruned to be kept at a certain size, but because they are a slow growing tree they can ultimately reach very large sizes when grown outdoors. If you are attempting to grow it inside the most important things are well draining soil, the right amount of humidity, and lots and lots of sunlight.
Bay leaf tea
In order to make this tasty and beneficial tea, you only need a few things: 2 bay leaves, 1 cinnamon stick, and hot water. Steep the ingredients as you would any tea and enjoy while hot. I drink this when I'm having stomach issues or I'm feeling a bit on edge.
As always, this is not medical advice. These are helpful home tips and remedies, but they will not cure diseases.

Crystal Magic for Beginners: Embarking on an Enchanting Journey
💎🔮✨
Crystals, those dazzling gems of the Earth, have a mystical allure that captivates the hearts of many. If you're new to the world of crystal magic and eager to explore the wonders these stones hold, you've come to the right place!
Welcome to the enchanting realm of "Crystal Magic for Beginners," where we embark on a magical journey to discover the immense power and wisdom these precious gems can bring into our lives.
💫✨
1. Choosing Your First Crystals 🌈🔍
With countless crystals to choose from, finding your perfect match can be a thrilling adventure. Begin by exploring the most common crystals like clear quartz, amethyst, and rose quartz. Allow your intuition to guide you as you feel their energies and pick the ones that resonate with you the most.
2. Setting Your Intentions 🌟🌌
Crystals are like cosmic companions, amplifying our intentions and desires. Before you start working with them, take a moment to set your intentions—whether it's enhancing love, boosting creativity, or finding inner peace. Infuse your chosen crystals with these intentions to create a powerful connection.
3. Cleansing and Charging 🌬️🌞
To awaken the full potential of your crystals, give them a refreshing cleanse to clear away any previous energies. You can use running water, moonlight, or smoke from sage or palo santo to purify them. After cleansing, bask them in the light of the sun or the glow of the moon to recharge their energies.
4. Creating Sacred Spaces 🏰🌠
Designate a special place in your home to honor your crystal collection. Arrange them on a crystal grid, an altar, or simply display them on a beautiful cloth. This sacred space becomes a portal of inspiration and connection with the magical energies they embody.
5. Crystal Affirmations and Meditation 🧘‍♀️💎
Embrace the serene world of crystal meditation and affirmations. Hold your chosen crystal in your hand, close your eyes, and allow its energies to wash over you. Recite empowering affirmations to align yourself with its energy, awakening your inner magic.
💫✨
As we embark on this journey into the wondrous world of crystal magic, remember to embrace the process with an open heart and a curious mind. Crystals are not merely rocks; they are cosmic allies ready to guide you toward self-discovery, empowerment, and healing.
So let us embrace the enchantment of crystal magic, where the sparkle of each gem mirrors the brilliance within ourselves.

Finished off my main oils that I use for my morning body blessings today (read: tweaked some more of the Essential Oil additions, then finally re-bottled some of each into the small stopper bottles so I can use them for my blessings again). Then I wound up cleaning my computer desk; I didn't realize how dusty it'd gotten since I got sick, so that's been fixed now!
I was thinking while doing it, though, that while I don't have the space for blending the Teas, Incenses, and Perfumes that I'd like to do ... I do have the space and materials for my Spiritual Oils. And I make enough of them for myself that it wouldn't be that difficult to scale my recipes up when I make them. And if I bottled them on an "as sold" basis, they wouldn't be hard to store because I wouldn't have to find the space for a million tiny bottles while I wait for them to be sold- just the mother jar.
So I'm thinking about maybe starting to try and sell my Spiritual Oils for a bit of income. It'd definitely not be some thing immediate (though I could probably sell a bit of the 2 Oils I do have made currently); they're not exactly quick concoctions by any means- plus I'd have to figure out how to make labels, etc (unless I just hand write everything like I've been doing). But it seems like something that's feasible to do while I live here, that's in line with what I want to do overall, eventually.
It's just a matter of, like ... Is anyone actually interested in them? Like, if I actually started to make them, would anyone (like y'all) actually buy them? Because there's so many companies already that sell Spiritual Oils, which are far more interesting than me- and far better at it. What on Earth would make you buy from me over someone else?
Tumblr media
ETA: The oils I'd be making would be what I pretty much always make for myself. So that'd be a combination of my own proprietary blends (like those I was tinkering with finishing finally, above) — plus my takes on stuff out of Cunningham, Cabbot (I think), and Gardener's grimoires; Rankine's various translations; Schulke's formulas; etc ... Stuff I already make and tinker with anyways- just scaled up, and with more effort put in to provide a saleable product, rather than a personal use one (because that's what I have the room to store right now). And as usual, I'd probably grow most of my own herbs for them, too.

Wait wait wait
You do witchcraft???
That's so cool! I had no idea there were other witches in the TMNT fandom!!!
What kind of witchcraft do you practice?? Personally, I deal mostly with divination, but I'd love to hear more about other people's crafts!
I do! ^^ Though admittedly my practice has been a little bit dormant as of late because I sort of fell out of habit after An Event which was a Bit Disruptive to My Life lol. But I guess I kind of dabble in a bit of everything? I dunno if I could pin myself down to just one kind of practice yet, I still sort of consider myself a Baby Witch. But I really like making little spelljars and casting candle spells and things of the like, and I've been trying to learn tarot for a while now! I also really like making and drawing sigils... For a while part of the joy for me has been just Learning New Things.
