the problem with war and peace adaptations is that so much of the book is so internal & therefore the easiest parts to show are the love triangles when in fact the majority of the book is about rich white college guys becoming adults during a period of war and unrest & trying to figure out how to make a life that has purpose and is worth living within the current social framework!! its about tolstoy grappling with how history is constructed and used! and of course it is also about tolstoy infodumping about napoleon!!!!
