@ka-go-me helped check on the accuracy of the translation:

The design Takahashi-Sensei used for Oyakata-sama (The leader, Boss, Lord)is an unexpectedly young looking and androgynous image compared to that huge corpse.

Otsuka Okio-san having been in charge of the anime voice over, called presence to [the Inu no Taishou's] paternity emphasized by a long career as a samurai.

I tried to adopt that balance in the different way I wrote my manga adaptation.

I made it to the new Yawara OP (episode 43)! Still amused that there is zero judo in either of them. Still very apparent why this was more popular in Ranma 1/2 in Japan. (Mainly, the part where the story actually advances over time.) It also brings up the ways in which globalization may be playing a role in anime pigeon-holing itself. Sports anime has rarely caught on in the US (until its relatively newer fujobait form was developed). As such, it makes sense that Ranma 1/2 could be distributed internationally far more than a show like Yawara. But now, global licensing is taking up an growing significant portion of the industry's revenue, further pushing those kinds of incentives. Anime is increasingly flanderizing itself. Insert strong/weak shiba inu meme here: "One Punch WomanIppon Zeoi Yawara" vs. "protagonists of newer girls sports anime are not allowed to win uguuu (Princess 9, Taishou Baseball Girls, Mou Ippon, etc.)" One could argue that stories like Yawara's are now more the territory of live action dramas, and sure, all of the usual terminally het-brained romcom tropes are there, but that judo part is the magic ingredient of the alchemy, and fat chance showing me a modern Jdrama who will go there. Not to mention the fact that Yawara has over 100 episodes! Not a thing that happens in Jdramas anymore. (But also, the live action dramas don't seem to be nearly as influenced by international licensing as anime is.)
