Hello! My name is Nanda and I'm a fangirl that likes way too many things and that occasionally writes fics or makes aesthetics for said things.
I'm mainly interested in urban fantasy and anime. Some of the fandoms I've written for in the past are The Shadowhunter Chronicles, Inuyasha, Six of Crows, Ensemble Stars and Outer Banks, but I'm into a dozen other things, too.
You can find my writing tag here.
And my AO3 account here.
My aesthetics/edits are here and my Pinterest account is here (though warning it's 95% TSC and 5% my OCs).
IMPORTANT
I do NOT give permission for any of my writing to be used to feed any kid of AI model, ever. My AO3 account is currently LOCKED to users only to prevent scrapping from third party AIs or bots.
To make it clear: AI sucks, I hate it, and if you are putting other people's writing on AI then 1: I hate you, too, and 2: fuck you.
Please ask beforehand if you want to: translate my fics or turn them into podfics.
Always feel free to: make fanart of my fics or come chat to me about any of the fandoms you see me posting about at any time or to send prompts for fics or aesthetics!

20 questions for fic writers!
tagged by @septemberskye 🥰
It took me so long to get round to this I think the whole pirate and sunder fam have already done it 🙈😔😭 ummm please take this as invitation to do it if you see it and want to 💜
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
48. Notably, 19 of those are podfic. 🎙️💪
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
380,544 💪💪💪
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Black Sails, but have also written for Cobra Kai, OFMD, and Sunder City/The Fetch Phillips Archives. Will probably write OPLA fic here sometime soon.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
1. some ancient call, 7k, OFMD. A creature rom com I wrote right after s1. Weird, funny, and sweet.
2. Strike Hard, 4k, Cobra Kai/Karate Kid. LawRusso do the classic fighting to fucking. Baby's first porn in like 6 years to that point. Also written right after s1.
3. in over our heads, 13k, Black Sails. The first fic I wrote for Silverflint, called Flogging Verse because the events play out after Silver is flogged post 2.1 for firing on the warship.
4. don't let me in with no intention to keep me, 7k, Black Sails, nicknamed Petplay. Silver and Flint discover some things about themselves mid s2. Still one of like, hmmm four total petplay fics in the fandom.
5. the sweetest devotion, hitting me like an explosion, 39k, Black Sails, nicknamed Cupcakes AU. A bakery-street performer romcom, the only time I've give the boys a no strings attached happy ending.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Religiously, lol. And it's because I want to talk about my story! I spent a lot of time on it so I take any chance to ramble more with someone who did me the compliment of reading it.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Definitely hand in unlovable hand aka The Worst Ending. Second place is Hanahaki.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Cupcakes AU 🧁 Generally speaking, if you're looking for unambiguously happy endings, you've come to the wrong place lol. However, if you want a fluff cheat sheet--besides Cupcakes, you can also check out the Soft Verse, Milkingfic, Bellyfic, and the Halloween Corn Maze fic.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
 Thankfully no 💜
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Lmao indeed. It's part of my Brand at this point. Love to use sex and kink as tools to dissect characters. Altered states my beloved.
What kind is a mix of if something tickles my brain/what the story needs, though you will most always find some amount of powerplay dynamics.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Ummm, back in middle school I wrote some crossovers, but none recently.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I am aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not yet!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yep. Many of my early offerings to the Black Sails fandom were collabs.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Oh You Know... (It's Silverflint)
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The Black Sails post canon Fix It Fic that started it all. It's just very complex, which is why it was abandoned in the first place. And there are some other factors that just make it untouchable.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Overarching structure/plot beats, poetic language, characterization, conveying emotion, searing hot smut and kink.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Editing full stop. Historical/period accuracy type details. I have to do buckets of research for that kind of stuff. External pressures on the characters. I'm very very good at the zoomed in relationship view, but expanding/getting outside of their heads is not something I've done a lot.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
It's fine, as long as there's a story reason for it to be there.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
InuYasha when I was about twelve years old. Those stories have since fallen into the void.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Break Up AU of course :)))) My baby, my masterpiece, my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears. I was definitely possessed the year it took to write it.

Thanks for tagging me <3

My next typesetting adventure is Tales from the House of the Moon. I will be mining the sites it was hosted on for Res’s glorious author’s notes because by the gods I will not let the brilliance of the human who wrote this disappear into the ether.
ALSO - this is like a dream come true. That I will be binding my absolutely favorite Inuyasha SessxKagome fic. I printed it out on regular copy paper when it was still being written, I saved it to a word doc, and eventually saved it when I figured out what program to use to scrape it from Mediaminer and Fanfiction.net. And then eventually also saved it from AO3 when Resmiranda posted it there. (OMG it’s been 16 years since it was finished - holy shit)
Also, I have a 47k podfic that I have to record and edit and then I will focus SOLELY on finishing the podfic for HotM. It will be my sole focus until it is done. And it’s so funny that it is also going to be a record of my growth as a podficcer and you know what? That’s quite all right.

20 Questions for Fic Writers (tag)
Thank you @Vukovich for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
37. 36 under tontonguetonks, and one under anonymous
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
11,768
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Nothing Like a First Kiss; Your House; Coffee and a Croissant; Because You Made It; Harry Potter: The Boy in Heels
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
As many as I can! The engagement is so satisfying, and returning to comments when I’m feeling down is a great way to boost my mood.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Uuuuhm, probably Your House? But even that ending is hopeful.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Nothing Like a First Kiss?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
None so far!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Occasionally. I think the only smut is from Your House and it’s hella cringy. And getting re-written.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope! Read ‘em occasionally, though.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! One podfic, though, for Harry Potter: The Boy in Heels by PhenomenalAsterisk :D (This made my year!)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not! That would be awesome to do one day <3
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I am Drarry trash.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Sadly, my anon one. Which is why it’s in the anon collection ^^’ I love the premise, but I fell into the trap of biting off more than I can chew and trying to shove too much plot in and lost much of my inspiration.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write better when restricted by a word count. I tend to spotlight sensory details or dialogue when I’m on a word budget.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Too many Scrivener files for the same damn story. Too many versions of the same story, written all the different ways. I get lost.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I’ll include it when necessary? I do love a French-speaking Draco, but my French is Québecois, and his… isn’t.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
InuYasha. No, none of it is published. You’re welcome.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I love almost all of them! But I think the most satisfying one to look back on is Coffee and a Croissant because writing it for @cupofsquirrelfan has been a joy <3
Aaaah I am bad at the tagging part of tagging games. Apologies if you've already been tagged! @phenomenalasterisk; @cupofsquirrelfan; @flintandfuss

And we’re podficcing now...
The SessKag Podfic Network is still undergoing setup, but I wanted to share the first I had done. You may have already read this story, but this is the podfic version of Fixer Upper from the Married, Magical, Mundane Life series. Reading done by a voice over artist on Fiverr! If you are interested in making fandom more accessible, please be sure to check out the SKPN linked above! Looking forward to seeing many for fanworks converted into podfics in the future! https://archiveofourown.org/works/28940982

Im re-reading Tales From the House of the Moon by Resmiranda (aka @ahollowyear ) for like the 5th time in my life. I always seem to pick it back up when I need a hug, or to regress to a happier time. Currently 700 pages in after a day of reading, waiting to get to the parts that make my insides tun to goo and also make me low-key hate myself because love is not a fairytale.
When I first read this fic in 2004 (yup, subtle brag that I was there as the text was being written, plebeians) it was one of those stories that made me dream of being loved. Gave me high expectations, with a smattering of inexperienced, problematic ideas of flirting and ideal men. Now that I’m older, I’m angry because it’s been 15 years and I’ve yet to meet a man who makes me feel as warm and fuzzy as goddamn fiction. Now I think I search out this fic when my own confidence is low. In a “let’s see what fanfic is supposed to be” kind of way when I hate my own writing. And I’m always just humiliated into inferiority every time.
The dark themes of the fic hit so much different now. Now that my best friend, Soul-sister, and part of me, has committed suicide and is gone forever. Now that I’ve lost so many people I loved and cared about over the years that I’ve hardened my heart and blocked my soul to prevent being hurt anymore. Now when my literal dog is the only thing in the universe I genuinely care about, want to be around, and would literally die for. When 2,000 pages of old fanfictions about sarcastic, expressionless dog-demons with pretty hair gives me too high of expectations, just like when I was 14 and hadn’t had my first kiss yet.
Anywho, this fic is always at the top of my rec list. IMHO its one of the best fanfictions ever written, in its size, epic-ness, character interactions and ability to make you feel. It’s one of the ones I go back and re-read because of the fond memories. (And also “teach me your ways, senpai” despite writing for almost 20 years myself.)
AWESOMELY, this time I was able to “read” and knit at the same time because TaikoDragon is turning this fic into a podfic on AO3. I literally binged all of them while I finished the sleeve of a sweater and then had to go back to reading once the podfic chapters were over. Their narration and voices are so well done, I’m so glad this epic fic is getting the podfic quality it deserves. Still have like.... 1,200 more pages to go, so listening for the first few hours really helped.

Ao3 Things:
How many works do you have on AO3?
127
What’s your total AO3 word count?
1,009,815 at present.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
If we count, we'll be here a while since there's sub-sections of a lot of these....
The Before Times (aka Pre Ao3): Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Beyblade, Oban Star Racers, OUAT, Zoids, Inuyasha, Digimon... i think that's it???
AO3: Dragon Ball Z/Super, Destiny, Star Wars (assorted media types)
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Parent, The Foundling (sorry I never finished this one, y'all, someday...), Project Compass, Marching On, The Truce (basically every single one of them is Mandalorian fanfic, except PC)
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I try to respond to every comment that comes my way. It's one of the nicest things when someone takes the time to tell you how they connect with or enjoy the thing you create, and I want people to know that I've heard and appreciate them.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Probably this Thranto story: The Nighthunter's Guile
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Not typically. I don't know why, but they've never been my thing, though some authors I know write amazing ones!
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Recently? Not so much, but yes, I have.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do, though nothing crazy. I tend to write what I call feelsmut, though I occasionally dabble in D/s, voice kink, and praise kink.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, though it wasn't the whole fic so much as it was the plot and several key lines/phrases.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I've had works translated into Russian before, and also podficced (though that's not so much translation it's still ultra important in terms of accessibility)
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Negative, though I do like to talk concept and theory with close friends.
What’s your all time favourite ship?
Thranto - it literally checks ALL the boxes.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
The Foundling, my Mando season 2 alternative. I had so many great ideas, then canon came along...
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good at tackling emotions.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Settings, generally being concise vs blathering on forever.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I think it can be a useful tool, but you need to be careful with how much is in other languages. It can quickly take a reader out of the moment if there's too much going on they don't understand. I tend to specify what language, or else use certain words that are then explained and used frequently, or ones a reader might find interesting/endearing.
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Probably Pokémon. I hope my parents found all my diaries starring 8yo me who loved writing about Misty.
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
It's a tie between Project Compass and Revenant.

AO3 Tag Game
Ooh this looks like fun! Thanks for tagging me @miss-ingno!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 34 in total - 33 fics and 1 podfic!
2. What is your total AO3 word count?
197,287
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
In order of most to least fics:
- Sherlock (14), which was my main fandom before my 5-year hiatus from fandom
- MDZS/CQL (9), the fandom I was in for the past year. I haven't written anything for it for a while, but might still pop in once in a while
- Guardian (4), which I'm currently writing for
- X-Men (4)
- Hannibal (1)
- Psycho-Pass (1)
- Inception (1)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. the river and the sea — MDZS, CQL (wangxian, soulmates and arranged marriage au) by a LONG shot. This one still blows my mind. I remember, in particular the first few days after posting, watching the numbers blow up and going, WHAT IS HAPPENING??
2. the heart of a bear — MDZS, CQL (teenaged wangxian time travels to the future and find themselves married, modern cultivation au)
3. homeward — MDZS, CQL (wangxian, modern cultivation road trip fic)
4. don't leave me here alone — XMFC (cherik, soulmates au) (my love for soulmate fics is starting to show haha)
5. Arthur Eames — Inception — this one is a bit of a surprise, given it's so short
5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Yes! I really appreciate it when people write me comments, so I always respond because I want to tell them that. I also love it when an author replies to my comments on their fics (I get as much of a dopamine hit from seeing a notification for that as from getting a comment on one of my fics!) so I try to do the same. I've also been lucky enough to strike up friendships through comment exchanges.
6. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
AHAHAHA six-years-ago Sasa wrote a lot of angst, so let's see... I would say A Study in Sentiment (Sherlock) wins this competition, but honorary mention goes to Precession of the Equinoxes (also Sherlock).
7. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've ever written?
I don't really write crossovers, but I do like fusions a lot. I think the wonkiest is Beyond, which is a Sherlock fusion with The Giver (Lois Lowry). I've also got my Guardian Sailor Moon fusion and a remix of a XMFC HIMYM fusion.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I've been really lucky not to!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I haven't yet. Partly this is my ace-ness showing through. There is at least one fic where I had meant to try writing smut and then just...forgot about it lmao. I might still attempt it someday, if a fic calls for it, but I don't think I'll ever write PWP.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge!
11. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven't, but I think that would be interesting to try! I co-wrote an original story with a friend in high school and that was fun. So if any of you are interested in co-writing, let me know! ;)
12. What's your all time favourite ship?
This is such a hard question to answer because I'm usually only in one fandom at a time so it obviously changes! Right now it's of course Weilan — and I think it will be for a good while. I think it might actually become a ship I'll come back to every once in a while, the way that I find myself circling back to binge reading MamoUsa (Sailor Moon) fics every few years because it's such a comfort ship.
13. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Inuyasha as a tween/early teen, which was on an old FFN account which now I actually regret deleting. I don't have any copies of those fics now. I wonder if my aunt still has the old desktop I wrote those on...
14. What's your favourite fic you've written?
Also a hard question! I'm pretty proud of most of my fics, and I like them for different reasons. If I had to choose, I would probably say the place hidden amidst clouds (CQL, MDZS), which has a lot of personal meaning to me as it encapsulates a lot of my feelings and experiences of being an immigrant. I also think it's my best piece of writing.
Honorary mention goes to to dash against darkness (Sherlock). I wrote it when I was at a really low point in my life and was looking for comfort, and I know it provided that comfort to at least one other person. If I were to choose to have written only one thing in my life, it would probably be this.
Thanks if you read through all that rambling!
Now I'm tagging @elenothar @clevermanka @dragongirlg-fics @la-muerta @ishipallthings, if you want to do it!

Can I ask what’s your guilty ship? Like, you know you shouldn’t ship this, but you do?
Oh! Hmmm, I really don’t have problems with many ships. Even I’m not into them myself I can normally see how other people would enjoy them, or I might like the pairing under certain circumstances.
That being said the two ships I like that I would think of as less popular are Kagome/Sesshomaru (InuYasha), and Ganon/Zelda (Legend of Zelda). Oddly enough, both are straight ships and I discovered both through fanmade comics.
Raindrops is the SessKag comic and it is probably one of my oldest pairings. The author started the creation of the comic back in 2005 on DeviantArt (the early comics are 90′s-tastic) and they only recently resumed continuing the story. I like the ship because I thought Sesshomaru was the FUCKING COOLEST when I was was a teenager, and I always liked Kagome’s willful attitude when it came to the being dropped into a world of demons. On a ridiculous side note, I can’t go back and watch the actual InuYasha anime cause I cringe too hard. May it live on in nostalgia!A Tale of Two Rulers is the ZelGan comic and it is BEAUTIFUL. The author’s art  style is only outshown by their skill in storytelling. Good stuff. This ship is probably the one I find more problematic, if for no other reason than I do not enjoy non-con. Not many situations between a pale princess and an evil pig sorcerer begin on a very happy note. 😅
Since I got this question on the podfic blog I’ll add that don’t have plans to record stuff from either of these fics. Both because of the low/outdated content, and because I love all of my other ships far too much.
Thanks for the question!

I went a little ham with this.
So this week I’ve decided to mention the fics that shaped me in fandom, from fandoms I’m not even in anymore. I started out in the Inuyasha fandom back in like 2003 which is what I started writing my first fics on - the very first was a songfic to “100 Years” by Five For Fighting, which was actually #1 on the radio in like December of that year.
You may be thinking “Damn, Ely! That’s young! You had to have been like 10!”
I was. Long story.
Anyway, I jumped from there to Kingdom Hearts when I was around 13, wrote an apparently very good for the time detective fiction and made friends, and then went on to FF7.
And then Supernatural.
So here’s a few fics that made me the writer I am.
--
Boys by CaseyValhalla - Kingdom Hearts - Riku/Sora, Axel/Roxas - T
Actual Summary: “It's about growing up, mostly. Sometimes it's about the guy you totally didn't kiss in the locker room and sometimes it's about the guy who climbed in your window. Sometimes it's about hockey. But sometimes it's about the difference between what's real and what's fake, between what you own and what you fight, between being a boy and being a man.” (I used to be able to quote this word for word like the fucking Preamble to the US Constitution).
Ely’s Summary: It’s a 90s AU, coming of age kind of high school fic. Period typical homophobia, complicated relationships, Roxas reads romance novels in the bathroom stall, and Sora’s an ex-hockey gang member from California. So I originally read this on LJ circa 2008, and it was honestly the first fic that I went beyond enjoyment and straight into obsession with. I credit this fic with saving my life, actually, as I was in a dark place with terrible people and used the updates to keep going.
A Spotlight on These Desolate Dreams by _MourntheWicked - SPN RPF - Jensen/Jared - Explicit - located on LJ
Actual Summary: In high school, Jared Padalecki had it all. He was surrounded with rich, famous, beautiful friends and partied with young Hollywood's elite. As if all of that wasn't exciting enough, he used the tricks he learned from his grandfather to become an amateur sleuth with his billionaire best friend, Jensen Ackles, playing the role of trusty sidekick. But when he got in over his head and lost everything he once held dear, he knew that it was time to move on. That was ten years ago. Now he lives the lonely life of a hardboiled private investigator on the streets of Manhattan, and his fabulous past is nothing but a distant memory. That is, until a tragedy forces him to return to California and the world he left behind. Between juggling rabid paparazzi, sarcastic detectives, and a spurned ex-best friend, it's a wonder that he can possibly find the time to solve a murder that has left the city of angels reeling.
Ely’s Summary: Frickin’ detective noir, this fic haunts me as one of the best I ever read. The thing about the early-ish SPN fandom is that it was insanely good - like, should have been a movie good. Like I lost sleep listening to podcasts good. Anyway, yeah. This fic is located on LiveJournal, I recommend just sliding down and downloading the PDF and reading it there.
Someone You Might Have Been by Fleshflutter - SPN RPF - Jensen/Jared - Explicit - located on LJ
Actual Summary: A J2 AU in which Jared is a secret agent and Jensen is his handler/support tech.
Ely’s Summary: Okay, so that summary does not at all encompass what this fic is. It is like 96k words of ripping your heart out and fixing it eventually. This is the most gripping fic I ever read - and then I downloaded the 11 hour podfic and lost three nights of sleep listening to it in both graphic design class when I could and for like 4 hours a night. It’s amazing. The reason we have SPN fandom as it is today is because Fleshflutter did so much for it. Okay, I can’t find a download link literally anywhere - not a single pdf. I have exactly one (1) link to a podfic in m4b format. Like, character death all over the place. It’s so good, though. It’s the kind of fic that gives you a hangover.
