I just read the line from from Rhodes to Cinder again in your post "You can do whatever you want, go where ever you want" and I couldn't help but think why it sounded familiar, and then it clicked, Ruby's past self said something similar to current Ruby "You can be whoever want, do whatever you want" or something along those lines

small correction: the line is said by cinder, but yeah, the similarities are there, which is making me go like 👀 whatcha cooking there crwby.

it's also like. both cinder in the past and past!ruby say "do whatever you want", and in the lost fable after reincarnating, ozma asks "what do we do now?" to which salem replies "whatever we like." which is interesting bc the second half of what cinder says is the opposite: salem asks "so, where should we go now?" and ozma replies "wherever you'd like."

like. just that both cinder and ruby have this inner... desire? to do whatever they want, and that it's salem who answers that question is making my head buzz. the brainworms are moving but they haven't reached their destination yet but there's something here i swear!!

No but the fact that we didn't have to wait for some typical last episode confession so we'll get to see the bees be official in new volumes to come facing the world and its chaos and danger like usual but with the knowledge that their now officially together together

Please, I'm still trying to process this episode, I don't know how I'm going to survive if I think about how we're going to get multiple volumes with Blake and Yang being a couple.

I imagine... it'll mostly be the same. But they're probably going to hold hands more. And gravitate towards each other's sides (even more than they already do). And give each other quick kisses on the cheek or lips or wherever (I still want that hand kiss). And maybe drop a couple of pet names and "love you"s.

I think... that's what makes them being a slow burn so fun. We already have an idea of what they'll be like in a relationship, they can just be a little bolder with what they say and do going forward. Because the love between them is spoken now.

Ruby inspiring Somewhat/Little and enacting change really has me so emotional, also I love the BlackSmith they were a great addition to this volume, she was so gentle and patient with Ruby and her internal conflict and that was something she really needed. God what a great volume!

All this talk about the tragic nature of Blake and ilia's relationship in the past and ilia being Blake's first kiss, and the gay angst/pining and yearning with a dash of the unrequited love trope, has me remembering the sapphic ass "Blake's Choice" tee in the RT store that looks like the cover of some wlw action drama romance novel

god ilia and blake are SO tragic it legitimately hurts a bit,,,, like?? childhood friends to enemies? unrequited love? first kiss? i would live and die for a catmeleon prequel novel or comic that tracks their relationship from their first meeting all the way to when blake leaves the wf

they’re the definition of tragic wlws i cannot believe it

(also i just watched raya and the last dragon and i have many thoughts about the similarities between that story and ilia n blake’s)

What's really great about Amity's crush on Luz is how explicit and blatantly obvious it is. Most of the time in media scene's like her slipping up and accidentally blurting out "That's one of the things I love about her" usually happens in straight relationships with the words coming from either the guy or girl in said ship (Examples: Helga from Hey Arnold towards Arnold, Marionette from Miraculous Ladybug towards Adrien, or Aang towards Katara) To see it normalized is very refreshing 😊

Honestly, I love the idea of a Rumpelstiltskin allusion being the summer maiden. Her having a knack for weaving straw and other materials only for it to be increased ten fold due to being the Summer maiden would be a great comparison to Cinder whose semblance is boosted due to her maiden abilities and also has weaving talents that come from her allusion

at least not her post-grimm legs. pre-grimm: legs confirmed. post-grimm: there's room for debate.

i think there's an episode where you can hear heels clicking while she walks, but that could be anything. could be high heels. could be her legs are made of thousand tiny grimm. we just don't know.

It would probably make sense for McCoy to have realized his feelings for Spock first since he’s more experienced and thus could probably recognize/act upon his feelings more readily… but for some reason I really like the idea of Spock falling for McCoy first. Just the thought of him having this crush on such an illlgical, easily provoked, volitile human that defies all logic and him having no idea how to deal with it but can’t really find it in him to fully supress it (and boy does he try) is both freakin’ hilarious and freakin’ adorable in my mind.

Well it’s Valentine’s Day everybody! Which means it’s time for another list! I ran out of ideas for Disney-inspired lists, I’m not ready to update the Top 10 Pairings list, and… let’s face it TOS has controlled my life for over a year so me doing a Spones list was the only thing that made any sense. So I decided to go ahead and list my Top 5 Favorite Spones episodes. Hope you all enjoy~!

#5. The Empath

Yep, we gotta start with the ‘McCoy knocks his friends out to sacrifice himself to be tortured’ episode. But can you blame me? There’s not too much to say about the first half, but the second half? Ho boy. We have Spock and McCoy wanting to sacrifice themselves so that the other won’t have to. That alone is just… damn. Then Spock tries to use McCoy knocking Kirk out to make himself the sacrificial lamb, with McCoy knocking him out to make sure that didn’t happen without any hesitation whatsoever. He just accepts his death so that Spock and Kirk will survive. It makes sense. Spock may not die, but the probability is he’ll be heavily brain damaged and that in itself is just as bad if not worst than death especially for a Vulcan. Of course, McCoy wasn’t going to let that happen. It shows a scary lack of self-concern, but I consider it the best McCoy Episode for a reason. Then Spock doesn’t at all argue with using the Vian device to teleport to him and… yeah. This is arguably the closest time we see a main character near death in the show (until Wrath of Khan of course) and it’s a beautiful yet heart-wrenching moment. Spock tries to keep it together but it’s clear that he’s having as hard of a time as Kirk is processing it and barely holding the emotions back. Lovely acting from Leonard Nimoy. And especially the moment where McCoy starts coughing, Spock trying to hold and comfort him at the same time, just holding him in the most gentle way imaginable, McCoy’s line about ‘good bedside manor’, and Spock looking about as on the verge of crying as a Vulcan could be and it shows just how much these two cared about each other. The reason that this is Number 5 is that in the end, I consider this a Triumvirate episode and this emphasizes and love and care between all three of them so beautifully. Spones certainly has some strong moments, but I don’t think it was particularly in focus enough to justify ranking it any higher compared to my other four picks. But it still deserves a spot on this list, so here it is~!

I was thinking about Operation: Annahilate and how McCoy made an arguably rash medical decision that he didn’t want to do that ended up blinding Spock (except not) after Spock and Kirk wanted him to and to end Spock’s pain. A decision yhat ended up being unecessary as he woukd have found out had he and the other two waited just a little longer. Thus he felt utterly awful about it to the point of being more or less unresponsive and that alone is just sad to watch…

…and then you realize that that wasn’t the first time he made an arguably rash medical decision despite not wanting to because a patient wanted him to end the pain that he found out was ultimately unecessary. Except instead of blinding someone and it turning out they were fine cause of Vulcan biology, his own father died from a terminal illness and it turned out he could have possibly been cured had McCoy just gotten him to wait just a little longer. If he had gotten himself to wait just a little longer.

AIGHT SO THEORY TIME

I noticed that after Nora absolutely destroys the door, just before her aura shatters and after her brand new scars appear, her eyes get damn glassy. Obviously this could just be a passing-out effect, buuuut high voltage shock damaging eyes -among a lot of other things- is definitely not unheard of .

So! I'm not saying Nora's gone blind... but I'm not saying that I'd be surprised if she'll end up with eye damage either 👀

(To be fair we have a blind character, Fox, and his eyes are basically white, but last time we've seen him it was volume 3 and models/colors/rendering have changed a lot so :v)

Plus, in the opening the pink lighting goes right over her eyes!
