Someone got a polish today ✨

Me and two other people polished this old lady today. It’s Madame Eugénie and she was all dusty 😭. But now she looks as gorgeous as ever. I bet the other engines in the shed were jealous lol.

But also something really annoying happened too. We came back from lunch break and in the meantime a pidgeon had shit onto the freshly polished smoke deflector😡🤬 This flying rat can count itself lucky we didn’t find it otherwise we would have cooked it! But hey now she looks amazing.

Christmas off to an exciting start: husband drove the dogs up the hill for their walk and found three forlorn lads stuck in their car in a ditch. All fine, just high/drunk as balls, had been sitting there for two hours trying manifest their way out of the ditch. Local farmers called in with tractors, so their Christmas shenanigans will be round the village before the turkeys are in the ovens.

Merry Christmas all - don't do your festive drugs until you've checked where the ditch is and parked up safely!

the emotional rollercoaster i just had realizing "critrole sick day? no bells hells this week? 🥺" followed by "ooh replacement gaming stream including robbie/dorian 🤩" followed by "oh wait, this is actually really good for me specifically, because i was bummed about possibly being late for CR this week since i'll be at the naddpod dungeon court live show until late" so like...i won't be able to watch the full bg3 stream live, but that's way better than missing the a campaign stream 😂

People I have had to deal with at my job in a small coffee shop (a non-exhaustive list)

Middle aged white woman ordering a bagel with charred peppers, throwing a fit because the peppers are, in fact, charred

Slightly older middle aged white woman telling us she feels weak and is about to pass out so we HAVE to give her beer. We don't serve alcohol. It was 9am.

Guy points to & orders a slice of cheesecake and eats it. Throws a fit because actually he meant bubble tea and we gave him "the wrong thing".

Group of teens ordering three frappés. They watch us make the drinks. When all three are finished they realize actually they wanted one frappé and a cookie can we give them their money back?

Small unsupervised child running around the shop for 10 minutes. Runs into the back kitchen and almost throws himself into our industrial oven to get at the unbaked cookies. Mom tells him he "really needs to calm down" when we bring him back to her. We had to barricade the door because he kept coming back.

The slightly concerning amount of people asking if there's mayo in the chicken/mayo sandwich.

That one guy telling us he's allergic to peanuts after ordering almost exclusively M&Ms and Snickers based products

That other guy who came in asking if we sold rotisserie chicken.

Parents ordering bubble tea for their kids because the kids saw it on Tiktok, only for them to later tell us they didn't know it had tea in it and their kids don't like tea so we should give them their money back

Woman in her forties telling me the heat wave that was hitting the country at the time was because of a giant ball of fire in the sky (not the sun!) because the government wants to make the Earth explode and I should look it up on Youtube there's videos explaining everything
