i think it’s very telling that people will get mad at you for bringing up the fact that iroh was a celebrated general in the Fire Nation army but will hate on katara for hating zuko longer than the rest of the gaang

#iroh’s redemption is a lot messier than zuko’s #and far less focused on #meanwhile katara was the first person to trust zuko and then was betrayed by him #and also he is the literal prince of the war mongering empire that killed her mother terrorized her tribe and completely wiped out #an entire fucking nation of people #again i am seeing these bad takes by children on ig not on tumblr #but it drives me crazy #iroh almost certainly killed innocent people and would have become firelord if his son hadnt died #it literally took the death of his only child for him to realize the war was wrong #i love iroh and im not ~cancelling him or we but like #it tells me your priorities when you defend him but not katara #atla
