Irondad fic ideas #152
Every year around the holidays, a "bug war" breaks out in the Parker-Stark households
Not bugs as in creepy crawlies. Technology bugs. Surveillance.
Tony and Peter are both determined to figure out what the other wants for the holidays
The two are on surprisingly even ground: Peter's spider-sense doesn't consider this a threat, and FRIDAY won't snitch. They both have to find any "bugs" the old fashioned way.
Bonus:
Soon enough the whole Ironfam is wrapped up in it. November and December become a time of yearly paranoia, everyone watching what they say and "checking for bugs."
Even Peter's friends discover tiny bugs on them. When Ned first learns the itty bitty robot behind his coat button is from Tony Stark trying to find out what he wants for Christmas he faints on the spot
Bonus 2, Crack Taken Seriously Boogaloo:
For a bit of drama: it's all fun and games until one year Peter gets kidnapped. The situation is bad. They only find him in time thanks to one of the "holiday bugs" Tony recently snuck on

I sent in the IronFam ask earlier and I do have a prompt which hopefully you like! soo the fam have gone on vacation and on the first night Morgan is a lil scared and wants her big brothers and dad to check under the bed, the closet for any potential monsters lurking. to make her feel better they pretend to find the tickle monster. maybe with lee!Peter and lee!Morgan with either ler!Tony or ler!harley. whatever u would like
Tickle Monster Vacay
Summary: See prompt above 😁
(Okay, this was so precious ❤️ I love it!! ❤️ Thank you so much Anon😭 I hope you enjoy! ❤️)
"It's okay Morgan. Nothing's going to hurt you."
Morgan burrowed into her father's chest. "But daddy, what if there's monsters here?"
"Hey Morgan, it's okay." Peter sat on the bed. "All of the monsters here are the cute cuddly ones. Like the one's from Monster's Inc."
Morgan turned to Peter. "But what if he tries to eat me?"
"You're too big Morgan." Harley poked her leg. "They'd get as far as your leg and be full."
The littlest's eyes widened and she immediately dove under Tony's arm.
Peter rolled his eyes and elbowed Harley in the ribs. "Way to go Harley."
"Sorry for trying to help."
"Okay, neither of you are really helping." Tony did his best to soothe his frightened daughter. "So unless you come up with something that does help, keep your mouths shut."
Harley rolled his eyes. "Sorry."
"Come on Harley, he's really trying here."
The older boy sighed. "I know, but we're supposed to be on vacation Pete. I've got to have a little fun."
Peter tugged the blanket back. "Morgan, is there something we could do to help?"
The littlest looked up at Peter. "Can you check please?"
"Check where sweetheart?" Tony asked.
"The places monsters like to hide."
"Like under the bed?"
Morgan nodded. "And in the closet."
Tony nodded. "We can do that."
Meanwhile, Harley moved toward the closet. "We can take a look, but they won't be there."
Peter hit his shoulder. "Because there's none there."
"Ow!" Harley shoved him back.
"Alright you two, knock it off," Tony followed Harley's direction. "Let's help Morgan feel safe so we can all go to bed."
"Daddy don't leave!"
"I'm not leaving sweetie. I'm just checking the closet."
Morgan clung to her stuffie. "But what if the monster comes out?"
"He'll have to go through all of us," Harley flexed his muscles.
Morgan hid behind her stuffy. "We're gonna die!"
Peter stroked her hair. "Don't worry Morgan, your dad and I will be here."
Harley growled and crossed his arms.
Tony nudged his arm and gave him a wink the other two couldn't see. He then turned to the duo still at the bed, "Peter, check under the bed please."
The younger boy nodded. "Right."
Morgan watched her surrogate brother intently as he crouched down. While the two were distracted, Tony tugged Harley closer to the closet. He whispered, "Follow my lead, go for Peter."
Harley raised one eyebrow, but gave a brief nod.
In response, the older mentor stepped to the closet and put his ear to the door. Tony then knocked on the door, "Hello, any monsters in there?"
Harley smirked. "Careful Tony, don't want to stir any of them up."
"Harley," Peter hissed.
The older boy held up his hands. Instead of responding, he turned back to Tony.
"You know, Harley's right. Certain monsters are attracted to sound."
"What!"
Peter soothed the littlest. "Shhh, your dad's just being silly."
"No I'm not, I know one monster who feasts on sounds."
Then Tony cracked open the closet.
Morgan dove under the covers and yanked them over her head.
While Peter tried to soothe her, Harley let out a low growl that made her squeak.
"Oh no, I think there's a special monster here," Tony hissed.
"An extra especially monster."
"Come on you two, knock it off!" Peter snapped.
With a subtle slip into his pocket, Tony clicked the button that turned off all the lights.
Morgan flew into Peter's side. "Petey!"
The young boy squeezed her tight. "Come on Tony, don't join him!"
Neither Tony nor Harley answered. Instead Harley let out another low growl as Tony let the closet door slowly fall open.
While Morgan sunk even farther down, Peter slid forward so he was in front of her.
Meanwhile, Harley and Tony slunk through the darkness to opposite sides of the bed. Harley was starting to pick up on what Tony was doing and he was game to pick on the spider kid.
"Tony, Harley? Whatever you're doing, stop it! You're scaring Morgan!"
Harley leaned close to Peter's ear and whispered, "Boo."
When Peter's arm shot out in his direction, the older boy snagged it then yanked him toward him.
"Hey!"
Meanwhile, Morgan let out a squeal as she was scooped into her father's arms. "Petey!"
Peter squirmed to get out of Harley's bear hug. "What are you two doing!"
Tony chuckled. "We've come to feast."
"Feast on what!"
"Your giggles."
Both Peter and Morgan let out a surprised squeal as the other two dug in. Tony immediately spidered across Morgan's tummy while Harley attacked Peter's sides.
"Nohoho! Harlehey!"
"Harley's not here right now." The older boy moved up to his ribs. "I'm the tickle monster!"
"NOOHO! NOHOT THEHERE!"
"Aww, does the spider kid have ticklish ribs?"
"SHUT UHUP! YOU KNOW IHITS SPIDERMAHAN!"
"Man is a stretch."
While Harley attacked Peter, Tony spidered up Morgan's sides and into her armpits. "Gootchie gootchie goo."
"Daddyhy noho!"
"Sorry sweetie, your daddy's not here right now. Just the tickle monster."
Morgan let out a squeal. "Ihi knohow ihits yohou daddyhy!"
Tony cooed. "Am I that ohobvihous?"
Morgan nodded and wrapped him in a hug. "Lohove you dahaddy."
The older mentee returned the hug. "I love you too honey. I'm sorry we scared you."
"It's okay, you wehere beheing sillyhy."
"I promise you Morgan, the only monster you'll see on vacation is the tickle monster." Tony added in some side tickles for good measure. "Ahand he will neeeever hurt you."
Morgan giggled adorably and tried to grab her dad's hand. However, the moment was cut short by a loud squeal.
When Tony looked over, he saw Harley had Peter by the armpits and was slowly making him to lower to the floor as he wiggled his fingers around.
Morgan pointed. "Daddy, we have to save Petey!"
"Not to worry princess." Tony set Morgan down and charged around the bed. "Unhand him you fiend!"
"What? AhEE!"
Once beside them, Tony squeezed Harley's hips. This made the older boy drop Peter and collapse into a pile of laughter on to the bed.
Morgan crawled over and peered down at her surrogate brother. "Are you okay Petey?"
The young teen caught his breath, then growled. "Harley, you're dehead!"
Peter scrambled on to the bed and immediately attacked the older boy's armpits.
"AHH! TOHONY YOHOU TRAITOHOR!"
"That's the joy of being senior tickle monster." The older mentor spidered up Harley's sides. "You can switch sides whenever you please."
"SQUEE! ATLEAST CAHALL OHOF YOU'RE ATTAHACK SPIDEHER!"
Peter paused his tickles. "Now I'm ahan attahack spideher? Harley, can yohou nohot just sahay Spidermahan?"
The older boy growled before pulling Peter down on top of him. "Ohof course nohot, that wohould behe to easy."
"Hey!" Peter immediately tried to grab the knuckles rubbing the top of his head. "Knock ihit off!"
Tony chuckled. "Yohou guhuys are crazy. Rihight Morgan?"
When Tony looked around, there was no sign of his daughter.
"Morgan?"
A giggle drew all of their attention to the door. Morgan stood in the open bedroom doorway, a grin on her face and her stuffie in her arm. "Come and catch me monstehers!"
Then she took off down the hall.
Tony sprang up and ran after her. "Get back here you sneaky little sneak!"
Meanwhile, Peter wriggled out of Harley's hold. "Morgan's going to need back up."
"You take up, I'll take down?"
Peter paused at the doorway. "No I thought I'd let you climb across the ceiling for a change."
Harley rolled his eyes as he poked Peter's side. "Get up there."
With a grin, Peter scurried up the wall. Harley grinned back before heading down the hall. "Better watch out! We're coming for you Tony!"
After that night, Morgan never feared monsters again . . . Well, all except for one monster.

Time Travel Fix-It’s Masterlist
A Traveller of Dimensions (ao3) - IViv tony/stephen M, 19k
Summary: There was no other way.
Repeat the same thing enough and it begins to taste like truth. For twelve blurry months, Stephen chanted those words to himself, unable to wake from the nightmare of what had come to pass. And now the unthinkable happened. Now Spider-Man proved him wrong.
Fate could be altered. Destiny was but a front.
Stephen performed the spell at Liberty Island with a vice around his heart. It was perhaps due to this revelation, that he failed to notice one unlikely traveller slip through the closing rift.
-
[Set immediately after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.]
Back in Time (ao3) - Panic_CelestialInk G, 4k
Summary:
"I’m going to kill Rocket when I get back, Peter vowed. He knew Rocket loved stealing valuable stuff, but of all the people he could steal from, why did he have to choose the bloody wizard"

Back to the Future (ao3) - Leshaya steve/tony M, 21k
Summary: Steve didn’t confirm he had lived this whole time in the past; he just didn’t deny anything.

Peter and Morgan's 40-Year-Long-Day (ao3) - thisMarvelousLife T, 26k

ALL OF THE ABOVE lol this is a disaster of a prompt but I hope it gets the muse going!!
You asked for it: here comes the chaos!!!!
read and leave kudos on AO3
“All I want are s’mores!” he cries, following after Tony’s retreating back with all the gusto of tailing a criminal. “Just say yes and I’ll stop asking!”
“That’s not how this works,” drolls Tony, not bothering to crane his neck backward as he speaks. “Between you and the other four year old of the place, I’m strong in the face of unrelenting pleas.”
“Please.”
“No.”
Peter pouts, pulling out a pitiful, “Please, Tony?” from the depths of his soul.
A pause.
Peter doesn’t bother taping back his growing, victorious smirk since Tony’s back is still toward him. But the older man has stopped at the kitchen island, lunch plates forgotten before him, shoulders tensing up just a smidge, and Peter knows the signs of a crumbling empire.
Then there’s a sigh.
“A supervised campfire this evening. Morgan can stay up past her bedtime—“”
“YES!”
“—but only if it’s Pepper approved.”
As much as Pepper Potts-Stark likes to feign the stern parent act, she’s as mushy for Peter and Morgan as her husband. Peter knows exactly what needs to be done in order to get Pepper’s approval.
He spins on his heel, making for the stairs and shouts out for his little sister,
“Hey, Momo! D’ya wanna take a selfie with me?”
He immediately garners her attention as he hears Morgan toss down whatever she was using and her thunderous footsteps racing from her bedroom toward the top of the stairs, screeching out a resounding,
“YES!”
Tony groans from the bottom level.
Peter grins unabashedly, swinging Morgan up into his arms and cuddles her close.
“I think we need to send some pictures to Mom, whadda say?”
“Yes yes yes!”
Peter wanders into Morgan’s bedroom and plops down onto her rug, easing his back against her abandoned art table.
“Dress up or regular selfie?”
Morgan tilts her head, brown eyes flicking toward the ceiling in thought. After a couple beats, she jumps in excitement and declares, “Regular selfies but I wanna wear a tiara!”
Peter nods, “Awesome! Go grab your purple tiara and come back over here, alright?”
She runs off as he pulls out his cell phone.
Before long, Morgan is situated on his lap and Peter has his camera facing both of them. They take an obscene amount of pictures because Morgan likes to direct them on different poses. She’s rather bossy as she says to go between serious to silly to posing like they are Iron Man but Peter rolls with her assertions.
“Guess what?”
“Mmmm, what?!”
“Dad said that we can have a bonfire tonight!”
“AWESOME!” squawks Morgan, jumping from his lap, no longer interested in helping send the perfect picture to her mother and more interested in jumping onto her bed and bouncing.
“Morguna!”
Morgan pretends she does not hear her father’s call of her name, bouncing until her tiara sits askew and even then continues showing her exuberance.
Peter sends Pepper an adorable picture of two massively grinning faces with the message: Tony says we can have a bonfire tonight with your approval.
Within moments, Pepper sends hearts for the picture and responds with a planning on catching anything on fire again?
Peter replies back with a no along with the angel emoji.
In the end, Pepper gives her approval.
Peter sweeps Morgan off her bed mid-jump, both of them squealing and laughing in high pitches, as he runs them back out of her room and races down the stairs.
Tony hollers, “Lunch is ready, my two monsters!”
At the back of his mind, Peter feels for Tony having to wrangle both him and Morgan around for the remainder of the afternoon. Then again, he isn’t too concerned about it because despite his minor attempts acting indifferent, Tony is just as excited.
“Let’s go collect wood from behind Gerald’s pin, shall we?” suggests Tony sometime after four, corralling them out of the garage after their latest volcano experiment finished and back into the late afternoon sun.
“For the campfire?” asks Morgan, skipping behind her father, swinging her arms rather erratically.
“Yeppers little Pepper.”
Morgan giggles then bolts on ahead to shower the family alpaca with her undivided attention.
Now with little ears out of shot, Tony rounds on Peter,
“Turn out your pockets.”
“What? Why!”
“It’s like house arrest but I gotta make sure you’re not carrying a lighter on you.”
“That’s lame,” but Peter turns out his pockets anyways, knowing that he isn’t carrying anything incriminating on him. “Happy now, Mister Worrywart?”
Tony sniffs, remains silent, then proceeds to dump several logs into Peter’s arms several moments later. “Go on and be helpful, Mister Menace.”
“That’s enough from you, old sport.”
“I still know how to use a repulsor, Mister Gatsby.”
“Oooh, I’m quivering! I’m gonna be hunted down by Iron Dad himself because of his unsinkable crush of Leo DiCaprio.”
Tony breaks first and snorts out his laughter. His father figure swats at Peter, though the teenager dodges the motion with ease of a pirouetting spider vigilante.
“I’m laughing at you, you goon! And mildly offend my kid keeps calling me old!”
“So your infatuation with Mister DiCaprio has nothing—”
“Begone, you!” chuckles Tony.
Peter shuffled away, beaming in triumph all the way to their designated fire pit. He can’t help tossing over his shoulder, “It IS a little weird both you and Pepper have a thing for him—"
Only Tony doesn’t allow Peter to finish his train of thought all the way: a twig is tossed at his back and Peter finally lets go of their teasing.
Serves Tony right, though, Peter thinks as logs fall from his arms into the unlit fire pit, see if he teases me about Kristen Bell again.
However; knowing their relationship, Peter anticipates the new game of teasing each other about passed celebrity crushes will continue on until something new takes hold. It’s just how they are, really.
By the time Colonel Rhodes makes an appearance, bearing graham crackers and marshmallows (both mini AND jumbo sized!) and Hersey’s milk chocolate bars, Tony’s had to send Morgan inside to change clothes seeing as how she somehow ended up with Gerald’s bucket all down her front, and Peter takes the opportunity to greet Rhodey without the prying eyes of their best friend.
“How’d you get him to agree to a bonfire so soon after last month’s incident?” prefaces Rhodey, raising an inquisitive brow at Peter.
“Puppy eyes and Pepper.”
“Works like a charm every single time.”
They high five.
As the sun sinks lower on the horizon, Pepper arrives home and Tony declares the start of their activities. Rhodey grills the burgers as Tony assists Morgan with making hot dogs over the fire. Pepper tugs Peter inside in order to grab paper plates, napkins, and condiments, and Peter obeys because he wants to keep Pepper on his side for as long as possible.
But the way she keeps glancing over at him makes Peter realize she knows he’s got an ulterior motive up his sleeve.
Best to ask for forgiveness and all that jazz.
Peter waits for the perfect opportunity. Ideally, it’s after dinner and either right as Pepper takes Morgan in for bed or his little sister is further away from the chaos. No matter what, Peter wants to keep Morgan safe. Tony has loosened up with his own hawk eyes making sure Peter behaves himself, but his wife hasn’t. Rhodey continues to throw encouraging head nudges.
There’s only so much Peter can take before he gives into the pressure.
Morgan fell asleep on Pepper ten minutes beforehand and Tony is whispering to his wife who should take the little girl up to bed. His two pseudo parents distracted, finds Rhodey turning to Peter and says,
“I double dog dare you to throw gasoline into the fire.”
Peter turns to the other man and professes, “Coward. Make it a triple dare and I’ll do it hanging upside down from that branch over there.” and he points to a semi-sturdy looking tree branch.
Rhodey snorts, shakes his head, and corrects his offer. “I triple dog dare you to throw gasoline into the fire.”
And then he slips him a small, red bottle.
Peter has to bite his lip from laughing. He swipes the loot out of Rhodey’s grip and stands up, slowly moseying over toward the tree he now needs to climb.
Too bad Tony’s got tingling dad senses tonight. Peter doesn’t even make it halfway to the tree before he’s stopped in his tracks.
“Peter Benjamin, that better not be gasoline in your hands.”
“Uh—”
“And you sure as hell better not being thinking about climbing that tree.”
“It’s for the aesthetic?”
Rhodey snorts behind him.
“Don’t you think the loss of your eyelashes and eyebrows was enough of a lesson for you, hmm?” Tony’s voice comes closer as Peter’s shoulders sag in defeat.
“But I like the whoosh!” whines Peter.
Tony snatches the gasoline outta his hands. “And I like my kids in one piece.”
What a low blow, Peter muses, not bothering to hide his amusement in the dark. All the same he says, as he spins around, “I’m pretty sure I’m flame retardant anyways, being part-spider.”
Tony sputters.
And really, Peter just likes to mess with Tony any way he can.

5 Times Tony Wasn’t There for You, and 1 Time He Was
Word Count: ~3200 words
Ship: Tony Stark x Daughter!Reader, Peter Parker x Stark!Daughter (Platonic), Lots of IronFam ft. the Parkers
Warnings: Probably some swearing, not completely movie compliant but follows the general timeline ❤ Kinda unrelated gif (kind of related if you pay attention) but look how CUTE Morgan and Tony are
✨ Masterlist ✨
Tumblr media
-One-
As the young daughter of Tony Stark, you were used to your dad being busy with work. Meetings across the country, dinners with royal dignitaries across the globe, or simply just endless hours spent locked in his office. All of this before he went missing for three months and came back as Iron Man.
It was your sixth birthday and Tony had planned the perfect birthday party for you, with Pepper’s and Happy’s help of course. You had recently developed an intense fascination with marine life, so what better way for you and your family to celebrate your birthday then spending the day at the aquarium? He even splurged a little extra to convince the owners of the aquarium for you to have a sleepover under the sea. But the night before your party, Tony told you he had to leave for a little while. “It’s okay, Daddy.” You said, with the most innocent smile on your face. “Can we have some of my birthday cake tonight?” And how could Tony say no to that? After birthday cake and being tucked into bed, Tony flew off in his suit for one of the first of many times.
“Pepper, Pepper, Pepper!” You ran down the hall of your Malibu mansion, Happy trailing behind you. You launched yourself at Pepper, your little arms wrapping around her legs. “Is it time to see the fish?” Pepper scooped you into her arms and you settled on her hip, your face nuzzled into the crook of her neck.
“It’s almost time! Are all the bags packed?” Pepper looked up at Happy, who nodded.
“And in the car, ready whenever we leave.” Pepper smiled gratefully at Happy.
“Wait! Forgot something, down please.” Pepper set you down and you ran off towards your room.
“Thank you again, Happy. You know you don’t have to stay with us-“
“I want to.” Happy interjected. “What can I say? The kid’s grown on me.” The sound of your footsteps grew louder as you entered the living room a minute later, your stuffed bear and wad of black fabric in your arms.
“What’s that, Y/N?” Pepper tilted her head as you held out the material.
“You know Teddy, and this is Daddy’s favorite shirt. He’s not here, so Teddy can wear his shirt. Almost like he is there!” Pepper bit her lip and plastered on a smile she hoped looked half as happy as yours.
“Just like he’s there, huh? Come on, let’s go to the car. I bet the fish are so excited to see you.”
-Two-
After Tony had taken down Obadiah, who you totally never trusted by the way, and had the press conference where he announced he was Iron Man, things started to go back to normal. Well, as normal as anything involving Tony Stark can be. You spent time with your dad in the garage as he worked on suit upgrades, and DUM-E seemed extra chipper (and klutzy) while you were around. Your Uncle Rhodey visited more frequently and everything was good. Life was good, until recently.
For the last few weeks, your dad had been acting different. “Your dad’s under a lot of stress right now, Y/N. He’s okay.” Pepper would repeat this to you every time you asked. Natalie’s addition to Stark Industries provided a distraction for you, and you found yourself growing close to the red head.
Your dad, Pepper, Happy, and Natalie were in Monaco and you were left at home  with Rhodey. You stood in the dark hall of your house, your Uncle Rhodey seated on the couch in the living room. The television lit up the room, and you slowly tip-toed to the couch. The blanket you held in your hand dragged against the floor as you climbed onto the couch.
“Hey, kiddo. What are you doing up so late?” Rhodey wrapped his arm around you and covered your body with your blanket.
“Lonely. Miss everyone.” You nestled into Rhodey’s side and your eyes glued to the television. “Boring movie, Uncle Rhodey.” Rhodey laughed and looked at you.
“And what do you want to watch, little miss? Let me guess, Tangled?” You nodded quickly and sent a dimpled smile up at your uncle.
“Please?” Rhodey groaned dramatically before he started the movie, and you giggled happily. And if Rhodey sang the songs with you, that was no one’s business but yours.
-Three-
You had hoped after the events in New York, with the team called the Avengers and their battle with Loki, things would go back to normal. Boy, were you wrong. You were on a plane with Pepper when you saw the footage of your dad flying into a wormhole, and it wasn’t until you were back in Malibu before you saw him again. Tears were shed and an endless amount of hugs were given when you were reunited.
The changes in your dad’s behavior were subtle in the beginning. Loud noises would startle him much easier than before, and he spent less time sleeping and double the amount of time in the garage working on his suits. When he did sleep, his dreams were plagued with nightmares. On those nights, he’d check on you multiple times before morning came. “Have to make sure my best girl’s okay.” Tony would say on the rare chance you were awake before he went back to the garage to work for hours until sunrise, where he’d repeat the cycle again. Work with Stark Industries, work at home, and maybe get a few hours of sleep.
Your dad’s PTSD got worse with each day that passed; throw in Happy being hospitalized, your Uncle Rhodey’s Iron Patriot makeover, and Pepper’s meeting with Aldrich Killian, Tony was a mess. And the threat of the Mandarin was the breaking point. “Come and find me. 10880 Malibu Point, 90265.” When Pepper heard the news, she told you to pack a bag, Christmas was going to take place as far from Malibu as possible. You stood in your bedroom, JARVIS playing Christmas music as you finished packing when you heard your dad, Pepper, and another woman yelling. You walked to the door and outstretched your hand, your fingertips brushing the handle when the first explosion went off. You went flying into your bedroom wall, and your world went dark.
When you woke up again, you were hit with the news. The only home you had known was reduced to rubble, your dad was missing, presumed to be dead by the media, and your life as you knew it was over. You and Pepper had joined the unknown woman, known as Maya, to get the hell out of there.
On Christmas Eve, you sat on your hotel bed, soft Christmas music playing in the room. You held your dad’s helmet in your lap, it being the closest it could be to having your dad with you. Pepper took a seat beside you, and you kept your gaze down, eyes glued to the helmet rested in your lap.
“How are you holding up?” Pepper’s voice was quiet, hesitant. She was especially cautious with you for the last few days, afraid to further upset you. You couldn’t even count how many times you burst into tears out of nowhere, but you always had Pepper to lean on. Like now, as you leaned your head on her shoulder.
“I just want my dad home.” Your voice cracked as the familiar sting in your eyes returned. You blinked rapidly as you tried not to cry again today. You picked up the helmet and hugged it to your chest. “I want to be on the couch, watching Home Alone, drinking hot chocolate. I want to be home. I miss him, Pepper.” Pepper’s shoulders shook as she tried not to cry, and she hugged you close.
‘Me too, kid. I miss him too.’
-Four-
After everything died down with the Mandarin, your dad returned to the Stark Tower you now called home. It took a while to settle in, even longer with the Avengers frequenting the space, but you had your family- your dad, Pepper, Happy, and Rhodey. Even JARVIS in his own special way was an important part of your life and family. But history has a way of repeating itself. Right as you developed a new routine and sense of normalcy, shit hits the fan. This time it was Ultron.
~~~
You were seated beside Maria as you and the team were on the balcony after one of your dad’s parties. You watched in amusement as Clint, your father, Rhodey, and Steve attempted to lift Mjolnir to no avail. The group talked and laughed, until the battle with Ultron started.
“Hill! Get Y/N out of here, now!” Tony yelled.
“Dad, no!” You started to go after your dad, and Maria grabbed your arm.
“Y/N. You can’t fight with them. I need to get you out of here, please don’t make me carry you.” You paused before nodding, and you followed Maria to safety. Hours later, you were on the phone with your dad.
“I’m sorry, kid. I only have a minute until I have to go off the grid.” Your eyes burned as you blinked away tears. “I’ll be home as soon as I can.”
“You promise? All in one piece?” You asked
“Maybe two.” You choked out a tearful laugh at your dad’s answer and took a deep breath.
“I love you, Dad. Please, be safe.”
“I promise.”
~~~
You woke up with a gasp and clutched at your chest as you caught your breath. You flipped your phone over, three in the morning.
“Miss Stark?” FRIDAY, your dad’s new AI, asked. Before the first fight with Ultron, JARVIS had been pretty much destroyed. Then FRIDAY was born. “Your heart rate has greatly increased and your oxygen levels have slightly decreased. Shall I call Ms. Potts for medical attention?”
“No, no, no. No, please. I’m okay, just... a bad dream is all. Nothing new.” You grabbed your cup of water that sat on the nightstand and took a large gulp, and tried to calm yourself down. You also turned on your lamp, the small bulb casting a warm glow around you.
“Do you frequently have nightmares, Miss Stark?”
“Y/N, please. Sometimes. Usually my dad is here and he helps me calm down. He’d sit with me; sometimes we’d watch the TV for a while, or he’d read to me until I fell asleep again.“ You pulled your blanket closer to you, a wave of sadness hitting you. “I wish he was here.”
“I’m positive Mr. Stark will be home as soon as he can, Y/N.” A pause. “What did Mr. Stark read to you when you couldn’t sleep?”
“We’ve been reading the Percy Jackson books lately. We just finished the second book the other night.” You laid back in bed and let your eyes close, and you willed yourself to fall back asleep.
“‘The Friday before winter break, my mom-’” FRIDAY started to speak and your eyes snapped open.
“What are you doing, Fri?”
“Reading book three, The Titan’s Curse.” FRIDAY answered as if it was the obvious answer.
“But... why?”
“You said your father would read to you whenever you had nightmares. Mr. Stark can’t be here, so I thought I could start reading the book to you. Hopefully he won’t be too upset that you started without him.” You smiled at how genuine and caring FRIDAY sounded and closed your eyes again.
“That can be our little secret. Sorry for interrupting, FRIDAY. You can keep reading if you’d like.”
“Certainly. ‘The Friday before winter break, my mom packed me an overnight bag and a few deadly weapons and took me to a new boarding school. We picked up my friends Annabeth and Thalia on the way.’” FRIDAY continued to read and you shortly fell asleep, a smile on your face. “Goodnight, Y/N.”
-Five-
You knew things would change after the battle with Ultron in Sokovia. You had just greatly underestimated how different things would be. One change was the new additions to the team- Vision and Wanda. While you got along well with them, not even your friendships could blind you to the tensions between your unconventional family. The already seldom group meals became even more rare the silence would be unsettling. If it wasn’t silent, there was arguing that you couldn’t escape.
Another change was the lack of Pepper in Tony’s life and subsequently your life. Pepper always tried to be there for you, even called you often and invited you to her office for lunch, but it wasn’t the same at home without her. Your dad was suffering from the loss more than he was letting on, and you had to be there for him as well.
~~~
“I’m a grown man, Y/N. I can take care of myself.” Tony said as he looked at you, and you set a plate and a glass of water down on his workshop table.
“I know you can, but will you?” Tony scowled at you, but you could see the gratitude in his eyes.
“Don’t know what I’d do without you, kid.” You smiled and hugged your dad tight.
“Probably fall apart.” You said with a playful smile. “Good thing you’ll never have to find out.” You let go of Tony and walked towards the exit. “Finish up soon, or I’ll have FRIDAY shut the power off.”
~~~
Things got worse when the Sokovia Accords were brought into play. Your family was torn apart by the decision whether or not to sign, with your dad being one of the few to sign and Cap being one of the few against the Accords. Throw in Clint’s retirement and the team you knew was no more. Tony knew this, and he made a trip to Queens for recruitment.
~~~
“Where are you going?” You sat up from your spot on the couch.
“Queens.” Tony walked over and took a seat beside you. “I’ve had FRIDAY tracking crime statistics, pair that with trending searches after these crimes, and I think we may have found someone in Queens that could be helpful.” Tony pulled his phone out of his pocket and projected a video for you. You tilted your head as you watched the person (definitely my age, you thought) in their makeshift suit swinging around the city, and your jaw dropped when you saw them catch a car with their bare hands.
“And how exactly did you find out who they are? Under the suit?”
“Classified.” Tony tapped the tip of your nose, and you swatted his hand away with a playful glare.
“Hope you have a way to convince his guardians to speak with him, let alone go with you to fight against the rogues.” You laid back down and cuddled your blanket.
“Have we met? I always have a plan.” Tony stood up. “You’ll be okay on your own?”
“Have we met?” You copied him and Tony rolled his eyes.
“Brat.”
“Old man.”
“I’m running away!” Tony called out as he walked to the elevator.
“See you in a few hours.” You closed your eyes, and let sleep take over.
~
“I wish I could go with you. We haven’t been to Germany in so long.” You sat on a workshop bench as your dad finished tweaking the web shooters for Spider-Man’s new suit.
“As soon as everything is calm again, we’ll have a vacation wherever you want. Just us, I promise. It has been too long since we’ve spent time together without work getting in the way.” You could hear the guilt in your dad’s voice and you smiled sympathetically at him.
“I know you’ll make it right, Dad. You always do.”
~~~
Before you knew it, your dad and the remaining team members were off to Germany for the fight against the rogues. Happy stayed behind, which you said was completely unnecessary, per your dad’s request. Just in case, he had said. He’ll only be a call away. And it’s a good thing he did.
———
“Happy?” You groaned and held your phone to your ear. “I think I need the hospital.” That was nearly an hour ago. Now, you laid in a stretcher, being wheeled to the operating room, as Happy waited in the lobby the emergency room. Your stomach had been aching all day and it got worse as the day progressed.
“Sounds like appendicitis. We’ll need to remove her appendix as soon as possible.” The rest of the conversation faded into the background, as did the preparation for your surgery.
“Alright, Miss Stark.” The surgeon spoke as she administered the anesthesia. “Count down from five for me. Can you do that?”
“Five...” Your eyes closed. “Four... three...” And you slipped into darkness again.
(In the waiting room...)
“Guess it’s a good thing you stayed behind.” Happy held his phone against his ear, Pepper speaking on the other end of the line. “How is she?”
“Surgery should be finishing up soon. I’ll call you again when I’ve seen her. I’m sure she’d appreciate seeing you when she’s home.” Happy glanced at the door, anxious to see your surgeon again.
“The minute she’s ready for visitors, I’ll be there.” Muffled voices in the background. “Keep me posted, please? I have to go.”
“I will. Bye, Pepper.” The two exchanged goodbyes just in time for the surgeon to walk over.
“Mr. Hogan? Miss Stark is waking up. I’ll walk you to her room.”
~
“Hey, kid.” Happy spoke quietly and took a seat in the chair beside your bed.
“Happy...” You smiled and struggled to keep your eyes half open. “You’re here.”
“Where else would I be?” Happy could see the gears in your brain working after the question.
“Dunno. Just happy you’re here.” You giggled tiredly. “Happy that Happy’s here. Happy, happy, happy.” Your voice trailed to a whisper and you were quiet for a minute. “Happy?”
“Yes, Y/N?” You turned to face Happy, and his eyes met yours.
“Thank you. For always being here for me.”
“Always will be, Y/N/N.“ Happy watched as your eyes closed, the smile still on your face.
“Like a family. You’re my family, Hap. And I love you.” It was Happy’s turn to smile, and he leaned down and pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“I love you too, kid.” He hoped you heard him before you fell asleep.
-One Time He Was There-
“Peter!” You laughed as the brunette led (dragged) you through the hall of his apartment building, and you looked at the doors you passed on the way to his. “Slow down, I’m going to trip!”
“I’ll catch you.” Peter replied but slowed down. “Sorry, I’m just excited.”
“For pizza at your aunt’s?” You stopped walking and Peter nodded. The slight twitch of Peter’s eye didn’t go unnoticed- his nervous tic. What can you say? Natasha trained you well.
Happy had dropped you off at the Parker’s apartment last night, giving you an excuse about some business trip him, Pepper, and your dad had planned over the weekend. You insisted you could stay home alone, but when Tony mentioned staying with Peter, you couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend time with your best friend. You two had spent all of the day together, Peter showing you around the city Spider-Man style. Holding onto Peter while he swung across the city was your favorite way to travel now.
After the battle in Germany, the team had all gone separate ways. The loss was hard on both you and your father, and the addition of Peter to your life (and Pepper rejoining) made everything easier. You quickly became friends with the teen, grateful to have someone your age to spend time with. And he was ridiculously attractive, not that you’d say it out loud. After all the time you two had talked and spent together, you grew close to Peter and him to you. And for him right now, that was a curse.
“Are you hiding something from me, Peter?” You asked.
“Absolutely not. I wouldn’t hide anything from you. I’m a horrible liar, you know that. I start talking a lot, talking really fast-“
“Like you’re doing right now?” Peter scoffed at your question.
“You have no faith in me. Come on, we don’t want to be late.” Peter continued walking and led you to his apartment door.
“It’s okay if we’re late, I doubt May ate all of our dinner by herself.” You walked into the apartment with Peter, confused why the lights were off. You turned the lights on and...
“Surprise!” You jumped from the cheers and grinned at the sight. Your dad, Pepper, Happy, and May stood in the living room wearing party hats. A homemade “Happy Birthday” banner hung in the living room, and there were containers of your favorite takeout and a birthday cake on the coffee table.
“Oh, my God.” You looked around the room. “Guys.” You whispered and your eyes watered as you turned to Peter. “This is why we spent the day in the city?”
“Had to keep you outside so they could get everything set up.” You hugged Peter tight, and Peter gladly returned the hug. “It was all your dad’s idea. He wanted to surprise you for your birthday.” Peter spoke softly as he rubbed your back. You pulled away after a moment and walked to your dad.
“You did all this for me?” Your bottom lip trembled as you blinked back tears.
“Of course I did, Y/N. You’re my daughter, my heart. You deserve the best, this is the least I could do.” Your dad opened his arms and you flung yourself into his arms. “I don’t have the best track record of being here when you need me. But I promise I’ll do better. Be the dad you deserve.” You let out a muffled sob, your face buried in your dad’s shirt.
“Please, just more days like today.” You whispered and Tony nodded, pressing a tender kiss to the top of your head. You stepped away after a minute and wiped your eyes. “Thank you all so much. I’ll cry all over the rest of you later.” Laughter sounded through the room as you stood by your dad’s side.
“We have plenty of time, Y/N. Now, let’s eat dinner. I nearly had to lock Tony outside to keep him from eating the cake.” Pepper said and walked to the living room, everyone but your dad following.
“Dad? Come on.” Your dad looked nervous and you started to question him, until Pepper yelled.
“Anthony Edward Stark, did you-?!”
“Gotta run!” You laughed as Pepper reprimanded Tony, and you sat on the couch with Peter and May. Maybe your family wasn’t conventional, and maybe your dad was busier than most. But when he was there, you were the happiest you could be, and you wouldn’t trade him for the world. Even when he stole a slice of your birthday cake before you could. Punk.

"Relief" — Tony and Rhodey
The man held up a damn peace sign.
And Rhodey knew, after three excruciating months, he had finally found his presumed-dead best friend. (Tony had thought him dead too, in the convoy attack, Rhodey found out later.)
-
The man cracked a damn funvee joke.
Tony laughed, but as he buried his face in his best friend’s shoulder to assure himself they were both alive, he was trying not to cry. (So was Rhodey, Tony found out later.)
-
And their brother’s arms weren’t much of a shield from either the blazing desert heat, or the trauma.
But, damn. It was something.

Happy FFWF! Take a moment to ramble about your favorite part or parts of your current wip! It can be the characters, your headcanons, the metaphors/symbolism you use, anything at all! And just for fun: Add a gif that represents that wip!
OH BOY AM I!!!!! SO ELATED FOR THIS ASK!!!!! Thank you as always for coming up with fun stuff for your fellow fandom friends to talk about. <3333
So. A few weeks ago I had the vague idea that we needed to do a Biodad!AU Christmas fic. Because I love Christmas and cheesy Hallmark movies and just. All of it. So I got an idea and wrote 8,000 words and then slept for like 14 hours.
And as it almost always happens, I sent it to @savvysass, who immediately had Thoughts And Ideas of her own, which led to it becoming a Christmas Centric 5+1 Monstrosity that we spent hours writing and that we’re now very close to finishing.
My favorite parts of it (so far) are:
The Banter - One of the best parts of writing with Savannah is that she indulges me when I have too much fun letting characters bat wordplay back and forth, and particularly when we crack each other up mid-sentence and the google doc becomes keysmashing. There’s one Christmas-themed exchange between Tony and Peter in particular that I think was excellently done, and Savannah gave me the high compliment of being “the funniest person alive”, so.
It’s About Family - The reason we keep coming back to made of iron, born of fire as a series is not just because we love Irondad and the Biodad trope specifically (though, well, we do). It’s because it’s about the whole Ironfam as we’re doing that trope. I get to fill my Pepperony quota, we get to keep Ben and May involved, and everyone has their own dynamics that bring up a LOT of fun headcanons and such.
It’s all over the timeline - Each chapter takes place in a different year, spanning from Baby Peter alllll the way to Endgame. There are a lot of jokes about how large the WIP pile for this verse is between us, but for this fic it came in handy to know where certain events happened despite the fact that we haven’t actually written them yet. Vilifying us to be crazy people. Please read our fic. We work so hard.
Christmas Vibes - in the year of 2020, where it’s all kind of gone to shit and going shopping with the masses as I usually might isn’t the most COVID-safe thing to do, I am milking every goddamn drop of Christmas spirit from the world that I can get. I will watch my cheesy movies and look at the pretty lights and write all of the fic I need to write about Christmas traditions to make it all feel better than it is. So I did! And it’s great!
Anyway, that will be coming out within a few weeks, and if you like our usual mix of fluff and angst and family, we would be very, very happy if you read it.
As for a gif, this particular bunny’s not mentioned in the fic, but, well...is there anything more Marvel and Christmas than IM3?
Tumblr media
(Yes, I made this gif because there wasn’t one coming up in the gif function and I didn’t want to steal someone else’s, RELAX ABOUT IT.)

peter parker introducing the avengers to all of the other superpowered teenage kids and superpowered teenage ppl he's met on the streets? (bc lets not forget this soft boi is quite poor)
•  After his identity is revealed, Peter creates a club for superpowered teens (usually younger than him—like freshman in high school or something). It’s disguised as a club no one would want to join, like... Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips Club. BBCCC for short.
•  He kinda becomes a dad friend. Giving them advice all the time. He takes the role in stride, which means....
dad jokes.
peter: did you know French fries weren’t made in France?
kid: please no. peter please. stop. we’re looking for criminals to catch, now is not the time—
peter: they were bOILED IN GREECE
kid: *throws hands up in exasperation* I’m leAVING
•  As for introducing them to the avengers, he either introduces them super casually, or makes a big deal about it. There is no in between.
peter: oh so I’m bringing in a guest speaker today!
kid: oh wow, ok!!
peter: yeah, he’s just a friend of mine! he used to be in the army! a pretty nice dude. like, super white tho. like SO white. but not a bad dude.
kid: what’s his name?
peter, gesturing for captain america to come in: well, he asks me to call him steve—
the kids:
Tumblr media
•  Tony funds everything. All Peter has to do is approach him asking for some spare rooms and food funds for these kiddos, and Tony is immediately throwing wads of cash like, “What you expected me to say NO?”
peter: hey, Mr. Stark? I found this teen on the streets, and they have powers, and I think they need some good influence—
tony, tearing up: *voice crack* how old....
peter, also tearing up: only thirteen
tony: a bABY
peter, nodding vigorously: A BABY
•  Pepper supports this, but also there’s a new kid in her house every week. Every time a new one shows up she squints, looks around the room at the others, and stands there like
Tumblr media
•  Ironfam just got a lot bigger!!!

Could I request Tony having a stressful day and Peter giving him a hug? Cause heck they both deserve hugs and Iron dad does not get nearly enough ^-^ thank you so much if you do!!
Absolutely yes. I can’t remember when you sent this, precious anon, but I finally have an answer. Sorry this is WAY more IronFam than you probably wanted, but that’s where my brain went. Sorry. I hope you like it. ♥ Canon-wise....we’re ignoring it, as always. Endgame ended less painfully.
Warnings for strong language, needle reference (EpiPen), minor Good Will Hunting spoilers
Ever have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong from the moment your feet hit the floor?
Tony’s having one of those days, and he hasn’t even gotten out of bed yet.
.................................
It’s exactly 3:47am when the entire lake house is suddenly lit up brighter than Christmas; every single screwed-in bulb in Tony’s house is on as bright as it will go, and just moments later the emergency alarm is blaring in Tony’s ears.
“Holy shit-” Tony groans and pushes himself out of bed as quickly as his aching muscles will allow. Pepper shoots up beside him, her hands thrown over her ears as she looks to him in a panic. “FRIDAY, what the FUCK is going on?!”
“Security breach detected on the roof, Boss; a window at the back west entrance.”
“I swear to GOD, if Peter tried to sneak in without waking me up again-”
“Mr. Parker is not scheduled to arrive until approximately 4:47 this afternoon, Boss-”
“I know, FRI; I know. Thanks for the update.” Tony runs a hand down his face as Pepper shoots out of bed and toward Morgan’s room. “Do we have a visual on the break-in point?”
“There are not currently cameras within that vicinity, Boss.”
“Why the hell not? Clearly it’s not secure.”
“Here, Boss.”
Tony grits his teeth when his own voice accompanies the screaming emergency siren. “We don’t need to spend any more time or money on the damn security cameras, Hap; we’ve covered damn inch of the house and a whole acre around it with surveillance. Only bugs could get in here without us knowing already.”
“Okay, okay, wise ass. Turn off the incriminating evidence.” Tony grabs a bluetooth earpiece and activates his wrist gauntlet while hustling toward his bedroom door. He’s just gotten downstairs when FRIDAY pipes up again.
“Incoming call from ‘Forehead of Security,’ Boss.”
“Put him through.”
“Tony?!” Happy’s voice is somehow groggy and alert at the same time. “What the hell is going on?”
“About to go investigate, Hap. A breach on the roof.”
“Oh my god, Tony-”
“I know; I know. You told me so. Trust me, FRIDAY covered that already.”
“Tony, I don’t think you should go alone-”
“Then get someone up here ASAP. I’m going. It’s 4 in the damn morning, and I’d love to at least get some peace before my 7am meeting.” Tony slowly peels the front door open and pads across the porch and into the yard. He slowly circles the house, Happy’s breathing the only sounds in his ears. “Don’t see anything....” He murmurs before crossing to a compartment he built into the side of the house to house (read: hide) ladders. He’s just propping the aluminum against the roof when Happy speaks up.
“Wait, is that a ladder? Tony, are you sure you’re okay to-”
“It’s fine, Hap.”
“Tony-”
Tony is on the roof before Happy can protest any further. The exhausted engineer carefully creeps across the roof toward the window. “FRI, where exactly am I going?”
“According to security sensors, the first window pane facing the west; I believe it should be around the corner from your vantage point.”
“Gotcha.” Tony approaches slowly, hand extended and ready to shoot if necessary. “I don’t know who the hell you are or how the hell you got here, but-” He rounds the corner and freezes, his blood boiling from his head to his toes.
“FRIDAY. Remind me to update security protocol to ignore idiotic birds who can’t figure out that windows don’t move.”
“Done, Boss.”
-------
By the time Tony makes it back inside and upstairs, and Pepper and Morgan are waiting for him in their bed. Pepper smiles at him tiredly.
“Job well done?”
“No job to be done.” Tony grumbles. “The idiot bird killed itself before I even got to it. Not a pretty sight.”
Pepper cringes, and Morgan whines and reaches out for her father; Tony’s heart clenches at the tear tracks on her cheeks.
“It’s okay, Morguna. Just a rogue bird.”
“Careful, sweetie-” Pepper guides Morgan into Tony’s arms, taking care around his puckered skin. The girl settles in Tony’s lap, chest to chest, and snuggles against him.
“Well, so much for a good night’s sleep.” Tony grumbles as he rubs Morgan’s back absent-mindedly.
Pepper sighs in agreement and settles in beside him, pulling up the covers and switching on their television, volume down low. “At least we can have a slow morning, right?”
“A very slow morning.” Tony pulls out his phone and thumbs through the messages that have accumulated already; Morgan and Pepper doze quietly around him.
When the clock hits 5:30, FRIDAY quietly speaks up. “Might I suggest food and a shower before your meeting? You have plenty of time, so it could be an easy morning. I am sure your doctors would agree.”
“Oh but my dear, FRIDAY,” Tony whispers. “If I were well, they wouldn’t get paid as handsomely.”
The AI is silent, and he sighs. “Fine.” Tony gently nudges Pepper awake, explaining the plan, and she takes their daughter, burrowing back into the covers with her for a few more precious minutes of rest.
Tony soon finds that FRIDAY is right (not that he would ever admit that to her); somehow the steaming water makes him feel less icky (it’s early, okay?), and he’s soon in the kitchen with the stove on, cracking an egg with one hand and stifling a yawn with the other. This soon proves to be a mistake, though, because the egg misses the pan and lands on his foot with a silent splat.
“Ugh, really?! I just cleaned that foot....”
After an otherwise uneventful breakfast, Tony heads to his office to video call into his meeting which ends up being far more eventful than he bargained for, but he supposes in the end that can only be expected when government officials are involved.
“Stark, we can’t keep this quiet anymore. The public needs to know what our plans are going forward.”
“And they will once we actually have them.” Tony licks his teeth in frustration. “I’m tired of talking in circles. We’ve been at this for 3 hours, and I’m over it. I’m not wasting anymore time here today. Next time we meet, please have something drafted that we can actually look over. In the mean time, I’ll be with my daughter.”
“Stark-”
Tony hangs up and sighs, sinking back into his chair. Simultaneously, his office door creaks open. “Daddy?”
“You psychic or something?” Tony turns in his chair and opens an arm for Morgan.
“FRIDAY told me you were done.”
“Oh, how kind of her. Were you asking her constantly or was she just that nice?”
Morgan shrugs, and he kisses her temple.
“What’s the plan for today, little miss? Aren’t you happy Mommy and Daddy put you in a school where you get Friday’s off?”
Morgan shrugs again and tucks closer against his side.
“What’s up, buttercup?”
“Mommy doesn’t feel good.”
Tony’s brows crease at that.
“Yeah? How so?”
“She’s on the couch with a washcloth on her face; she told me I need to be quiet.”
“Shit.” Tony picks up Morgan with one arm and opens the door with the other. He keeps a finger over his lips as they quietly cross into the living room where Morgan has set up a barricade of stuffed animals around her mother. “Nice touch.” Tony whispers before placing a peck on Morgan’s nose. He carefully sits the girl on the floor before crossing to Pepper. “Hey, Pep.” Tony whispers as quietly as possible; his heart stutters when he sees silent tears tracing down Pepper’s cheeks. “Let’s go upstairs, huh? I’ll handle business down here.”
Pepper nods as minutely as possible.
Tony carefully slides an arm behind her back and helps sit her up; he gently coaxes her to her feet and takes as much of her weight as he can, leaning their heads together as he walks his wife upstairs. Once he’s helped Pepper into bed and loaded her up with everything she could need, Tony places the tenderest of kisses on her lips. She sighs and settles as he leaves.
“FRI, let me know if she needs anything. Even if she doesn’t ask.” Tony whispers as he heads back downstairs.
“Of course, Boss.”
“Daddy? Is Mommy gonna be okay?”
“Yeah, baby, she’ll be fine, just not right now. Mommy gets migraines sometimes.”
“What’s that?”
“You know when your head hurts sometimes?”
Morgan nods.
“Like that, but sometimes Mommy can’t see, either.” Tony decides that’s all the detail Morgan needs to know that it’s serious.
“That sounds scary.” Morgan bites her lips.
“It can be, but we’re taking good care of her, so she’ll be fine. What about you? What’s the plan for today?”
Morgan shrugs.
“It’s pretty outside today. We can play in your fort if you want.”
Morgan nods and goes to gather her drawing materials. “Can you read to me?”
“Why don’t we read to each other? You’re supposed to be learning, right? How about Curious George?”
Morgan nods again and scampers off to get the book.
Tony sighs in one of the few moments of solitude and true peace he figures he’ll get that day. At least Morgan’s fort faced away from the gory sight on the roof.
-----
Tony wishes he could trade in the ESP he’s seemed to have developed for bad days. He spends a few calm hours in the fort with Morgan; they read multiple volumes of Curious George and color multiple pictures of kittens before lunch time comes around.
When Tony has his back turned, gathering Morgan’s crayons amid the overturned box, his daughter lets out a screech that makes his blood freeze. He whips around to find Morgan squatted on the ground with one hand gripping the other tightly and tears streaming down her cheeks.
“What is it? What’s wrong?”
“I-I-I think I g-got biiiiiiiiiit!” Morgan wails, and Tony quickly sees that she does indeed have large, red welts covering her hand as well as a few stray, tiny ants.
“Shit-” Tony abandons the crayons and grabs up Morgan, knowing that the bumps should not be that big or swollen. Tony races into the house with Morgan, and calls, “FRIDAY? Call the closest hospital and have the car ready with the route.” He digs through the kitchen medicine cabinet and pulls out the EpiPen that Tony had insisted they keep around in the rare event that Pepper came into contact with strawberries. Call him paranoid, but apparently that would pay off today.
“On it, Boss.”
“Is Pepper awake?”
“Not currently, Boss. She has fallen asleep.”
“Thank god. If she wakes up, fill her in.”
“Of course, Boss.”
“Okay, Morgs. This is gonna hurt a little, but just a pinch. It’ll make you feel better, okay?” Tony braces himself before stabbing the EpiPen into Morgan’s thigh; the girl cries and jerks but ultimately just holds on tighter as her father whispers soothing words into her ear.
They’re in the car and speeding down the road before Tony can properly breathe again, Morgan strapped in the backseat and still whimpering.
“It’ll be okay, baby; I promise.” This is his mantra all the way to the closest emergency clinic. Thankfully, Morgan’s allergy isn’t life-threatening, but after doing all the research he could about allergies and anaphylaxis because of Pepper, Tony had refused to risk it.
It’s 2:30 when they finally get back to the silent house, and Tony carries a slumbering Morgan to the couch and collapses. He knows he should put her in her bed to nap, but moments like today remind him to keep her close.
Tony doesn’t even realize he’s fallen asleep until he hears the front door open. He cracks an eye to find Peter Parker frozen in the doorway and staring at him and Morgan on the couch.
“I can go-” Peter mouths and thumbs back to where the car that brought him is idling.
“No, it’s fine, kid.” Tony groans and stretches as best he can with Morgan still clinging onto him like an octopus. “If we don’t get up, we won’t sleep tonight.”
“If you’re sure....”
“Get over here and help an old man with his clingy koala kid, will you?”
Peter laughs unexpectedly and waves the driver outside away.
“Morgan? Mo? Guess who’s here? It’s your favorite boy-”
“You’re my favorite.” Morgan mumbles sleepily.
“Faker.” Tony squeezes her tight and then releases her completely. “I’m not a boy; your old dad is an old man.”
Morgan scrunches up her nose in protest and curls back into him.
“Go see Peter; Dad needs to pee.”
“TMI, Mr.-uh, Tony.” It’s Peter’s turn to scrunch up his nose, and Tony just grins.
“I’m a fan of transparency, Pete.”
“Since when?”
Tony rolls his eyes as Peter scoops Morgan into his arms.
“Hey, monkey.” Peter all but cooes at her, and Tony suppresses a grin. No one turns men to putty like Morgan Stark. “You can cling on to me for a little bit, okay? Your dad needs a break.”
Morgan whines for show but immediately wraps her arms around Peter’s neck and burrows her face into his shoulder.
“Where’s Miss-um, Pepper?”
“Migraine.”
“Ooo.” Peter frowns in sympathy.
“Yeah. I’ve been on Morgan duty today. Fill you in when I get back.” Tony scoots out of the room, and Peter laughs after him.
“Only about the rest of the day, please!”
Tony chuckles in return. When he comes back out, he finds Morgan awake and propped against Peter’s side, a stuffed animal squished in between them as he reads quietly from Curious George.
“George is a hit today, it seems.” Tony comments and sits on the other side of Morgan.
“Ssshh Peter’s reading!”
“I see that. You know what we should be doing is eating because I know three Starks who skipped lunch today and a Parker who has a crazy big appetite.”
“Can we have s’ghetti?”
“Spaghetti?”
“S’ghetti!” Morgan insists and giggles.
“I suppose so, though I’ll make sure to include more ingredients than you do letters. Come help me.” Tony gestures and both kids rise and follow him to the kitchen.
Peter cuts vegetables for the salad; Morgan hand-shreds lettuce and butters the garlic bread, and Tony handles all things pasta and sauce; they all chat amicably between them, Tony and Peter filling each other in on that Friday’s events with Morgan pitching in to Tony’s side often.
Beckoned by the smells wafting from downstairs, Pepper manages to come down for dinner, looking tired but functional when she sees her little family settling in for a meal together. Peter quickly crosses and helps her to the table; she embraces him lightly and places a kiss in his hair before sitting, steering him back to the kitchen with a light pat on his back.
Morgan eagerly serves her mother her salad, also receiving hugs and kisses from the quiet woman, and settles in at her seat.
Peter smiles at the two and turns to the kitchen to find Tony dishing up the pasta and facing away from him. Before Peter can really think about it, he’s crossed the floor tiles and wrapped his arms around Tony’s waist, his head resting heavily against his father figure’s back.
Tony tenses for a moment before his brow creases in worry. “You okay, Pete?”
“Fine.” Peter breathes. “Just happy to be here.”
“Me, too, buddy.” Tony squeezes Peter’s arm, knowing the implied conversation that has passed between them countless times since he got Peter back. They stand like this for a moment, appreciating the quiet peace after a chaotic day, listening to Morgan and Pepper quietly talking in the next room before Peter sighs and steps back.
“Want some help?”
“What? You think I can’t carry four plates of spaghetti on my own?”
“No, and you probably shouldn’t try.”
“You’re probably right.”
The meal passes peacefully, the main issue being Morgan’s inability to eat pasta and tomato sauce in a clean manner, and soon Tony and Peter are alone in the sitting room, Good Will Hunting playing quietly on the television as they stare languidly at the screen.
“Big day, huh?” Tony chuckles as Peter settles heavily into the couch next to him. The boy’s hand and arm are propping up his head, his eyes hooded.
“Yeah. I kinda skipped the patrol details so Morgan wouldn’t freak out.”
“When did you patrol?”
“I’m on minimum day this semester.”
“Right, right.”
“Yeah, I, uh, stopped an armed robbery. A lady up in one of the swankier districts that doesn’t have super tight security.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah. She was really nice. Offered me a reward,” Peter yawns and stretches. “But I couldn’t take it, you know? Didn’t seem right.”
“And you made it out without a scratch this time?”
“For once, yeah.”
“You’re improving.”
“So, ant allergies, huh?”
Tony sighs. “Yup, so we’ll have to fortify Morgan’s fort from now on. I’m amazed we didn’t find out sooner, quite frankly.”
Peter hums in reply.
“Hey, Tony?” Peter pipes up after a few minutes of silence.
“Yeah, Pete?”
“You’re a great dad....And mentor.” Peter stutters out after a moment of hesitation.
Tony looks over, but Peter refuses to look back, his eyes pointedly glued to the screen where Will Hunting is sobbing and holding on to Sean like a lifeline. Tony sighs and taps Peter’s shoulder. “Come here, kid.”
Peter sighs, making a big show of how tired he is and how troubled by Tony’s request he pretends to be, but he melts against Tony when the man hugs him against his side and remains there when Tony lets go.
“Comfy?”
Peter nods, nearly cross-eyed from trying to keep his eyes open, and Tony chuckles. “Go to sleep, kiddo. We can finish this tomorrow.”
Peter scrunches up his face in protest, but Tony feels the teen’s dead weight against his side. “Seriously, kid. I can’t sleep here, and I can’t carry you upstairs. Let’s go.” Tony turns off the television and coaxes Peter to his feet; he keeps one arm around Peter’s shoulders to guide him upstairs and to his appointed room.
“Good night, Peter.”
“Good...night.” Peter slurs before pulling Tony in for a tight hug and collapsing into his bed.
“Clingy today, huh?” Tony comments as he tucks the kid in.
Peter’s words are light and wispy as air as he breathes out, “May says...hugs are the best...remedy for a bad...day.”
“She’s a smart lady.” Tony runs a hand through Peter’s hair. “Night, bud.”
Peter just hums quietly before turning over.
Tony quietly slips into his room and into bed, careful not to disturb Pepper. He settles in with a deep sigh, and stares at the ceiling as he wills himself into sleep. As his mind wanders, he reflects on the insanity of the day but finds for once that a warmth has settled in his chest. He thinks of Morgan, safe in her bed, and Pepper, safely beside him, and Peter, safe in his room, and the quiet support from all of them, and for once, Tony Stark slips into a full night of restful sleep.

Tony can feel the body he’s been leaning against getting hollow, falling apart. Peter’s jaw sets as the cracking splinters journey up his neck and overtake the line of his chin -and all too fast he’s gone, his eyes leaving Tony’s as he floats off into the wind on a breeze Tony doesn’t feel.
Tony’s hand slams through what once was the spider emblem he designed, Peter’s chest, and smacks against rock; sliding on dust that didn’t escape with the wind and sticking to his hand, tacky with his own dried blood.
He stares at it, cradles it with his other fingers to his jaw, feels the heat of a setting sun, and wonders if this is how all the parents of kids he failed to save over the years felt.
And in that moment, he decides he’s never really been a hero.
 Or
 Tony watches the kid die, and then finds out he's not so dead. Peter and the other dusted are alive... just moved over a dimension.
They need a plan to get them back.
