If you watch the interview, you'll know that the girl here and another one sat in their tank and shelled kibbutz for 17 hours straight, and yet they're being hailed as heroes.

From the beginning, we knew Israeli forces were firing at their own people. We knew that Hamas doesn't have the weaponry to result the destruction we've seen. But since nobody believed, now the truth keeps unfolding about Oct 7.

Watch the interview with Yasmin Porat who was at one of the kibbutz's. She said Hamas treated them humanely, she said they were scared but they [hamas] didn't abuse them. The interviewer was taken aback. The interviewer asks if "terrorists" killed all the bodies lying in the ground but she said: "NO, it was UNDOUBTEDLY our forces." Her exact words. #disability #currently going through something like this for myself and while i doubt there's anything 'wrong' i still did it #people are always weird about people who are disappointed or devastated about 'normal results' but...#...it's because normal results don't mean much when you still have the issue at hand...#...if my test came back that my back is physically normal that doesn't indicate that i don't have back pain does it?#because i am still in pain so often even if i have a 'physically normal' back...#...just as an example but i don't think a lot of abled people 'get it'#also like... if your tests are coming back 'normal' every time that might give your care providers pause...#...and they might just start infantilizing you or treating you like a hypochondriac...#...'are you SURE [problem] isn't just anxiety?' 'are you SURE you're actually experiencing [x] or are you exaggerating it?'

This Eris imagine from my Like An Angel series is taking me longer to write than I thought so here's a little sneak peak:

“Eris, please,” you nearly beg and he finds his feet rooted to the ground. He watches as you walk over to your chair, retrieving the coat he let you borrow. You extend it toward him. “We can talk about other things.”

He feels his throat tighten at the urgency in your eyes. “Like what?”

"Like…" Your voice trails off, your attention turning to the scattered items on your desk. "Embroidery?" you suggest, showing him one of your unfinished projects. It’s an outline of a yellow flower he has seen before but cannot recognize at the moment.

"You want to talk about...embroidery?" His tone lightens, a subtle easing of tension as he slips into his coat and watches you raise another one. Unlike the first one you showed him, this one is finished and beautifully depicts a white horse with a brown mane and tail.

“This one is of my horse,” you share with pride, a subtle smile gracing your face. The warmth in your expression acts as an irresistible pull for Eris, compelling him to sit back down. "His name is Maximus."

"I think I miss him the most," you add, the smile on your face faltering.

It prompts Eris to speak. “It’s beautiful.”

Your smile, like the sun breaking through clouds, brightens once more. “Would you like me to teach you?”

Even though Eris knows he should leave, he finds himself nodding.

You know, I feel like one important thing that’s barely ever mentioned about Sun Wukong is how while he very much is a murder monkey who intimidates people into giving him free stuff he also only rarely ever starts the fights he gets into. His battle prowess means that he’s pretty capable of escalating until his opponents either give up or end up dead, but he hardly goes out of his way to throw down. Like just to give a few examples:

His first murder of the Monstrous King of Havoc was committed because this guy was “brutally abusing” SWK’s family, including through kidnapping their children;

While he did indeed steal a lot of immortality-granting treats from heaven, he refused to go to war with heaven until the gods “had broken down the door [to the Mt. Huaguoshan cave], and are about to fight their way in.”

The two times when he encounters a band of robbers, he only kills them after they had repeatedly tried to kill him.

He kills the Six Eared Macaque because he had “dare[d] change into my appearance, take my descendants captive, [and] occupy my immortal cave.”

So the Monkey King is is many ways a selfish and impulsive monkey, but its good to remember that at least in the og classic he’s not going out of his way to start fights, even though he WILL do everything he can to end them in his favor.

#xiyouji #journey to the west #jttw #sun wukong #monkey king #this is one aspect of swk's character that I really like for a number of reasons #though I do think it also makes him a bit more scary than many another version #because him pausing before going ultraviolent #suggests he thought it through and was then fully committed to said bloodshed #but that is another thing that's actually pretty neat about Xiyouji SWK #in that he seems to accept everything he did no matter how violent without trying to excuse it or blame someone else #which tbh in this current media environment makes that over 500 year old version of SWK a breath of fresh air lmao
