Sorry if that question is phrased weirdly.

I (F24) am in a fandom Discord server with about 50 or so people in it. I'm friends with a few of the people in the server, but the rest are just sort of acquaintances that I sometimes talk to.

We have the usual non-fandom areas for talking, sharing pictures, a vent channel, etc. There's also a sort-of vent channel that's more for discussing life stuff and getting advice.

We were talking about medications for depression/anxiety and I basically said "Yeah I used to be on SSRI's but stopped because of a few specific side effects, and then when I finally switched to a non-SSRI and realized that it was MASSIVELY fucking with my appetite to the point of causing severe binge eating issues."

The person (who was asking if we had experience with any meds) asked what I meant, so I told them how obsessed with food I was, how I would wait until my parents went to bed (I live with them because fuck this economy) and then go around the house looking for candy, I could eat an entire bag of chips in one night, and one night ate so much candy to the point I got sick and vomited.

I told them that once I started Vyvance for my ADHD the issue improved quite a bit (turns out it's used to treat binge eating disorders), but now that I'm not on a SSRI my appetite and relationship with food is actually normal.

I'm not constantly thinking about food 24/7, I would actually feel full after eating a meal, and I'm no longer having extreme cravings for sugar and salty stuff. I don't have an obsession with taking all the candy in the house and eating it in one sitting, I can just... Leave it there and have some the next day.

I also mentioned that because of that, I've lost 50lbs and I no longer get out of breath just from going up the stairs, and my chronic ankle pain is SO much better to the point I barely notice it (I fucked it up when I was younger). I also no longer have high cholesterol, and when I go outside in the summer I don't feel like I'm going to die.

All of this was put under a cut, with a CW for eating disorders. The person I was talking to basically said "Holy shit thank you so much for letting me know"

I sort of forgot about it afterwards, but a few days later I went onto Discord and saw that the server was gone. I thought Discord was glitching out, but eventually messaged a friend (F20s) who's also in the server and asked her what was going on and if something happened to the server.

She said no, and was confused as to why I wasn't in it anymore. I didn't leave it on accident, it was just... Not there. She sent me an invite link, but it said the link was expired.

She messaged one of the mods (NB28) and asked them if anyone else was having problems joining the server/it disappearing, and they told her that I was permanently banned from the server.

She asked them why, and they said that I was banned for fatphobia and promoting an eating disorder.

She asked them how I was promoting an eating disorder (since I literally talked about recovering from one), and they said that it was because I was discussing weight loss as something positive, which I guess to them automatically = anorexia???

My friend, without me asking to, told me that she tore the mod a new one and called them a dumbfuck for thinking me no longer having binge eating issues and feeling healthier after losing weight is even close to promoting an eating disorder.

Context: My friend literally has anorexia, so she's familiar with how eating disorders work.

The mod then told her she and I are both fatphobic pieces of shit, and banned HER too. The mod in question has posted multiple selfies before, and they're not even fat. I'm like twice the size they are, even after losing weight.

AWTA or is the mod just on some kind of weird savior-complex powertrip?

finally, that's probably the smallest issue but fandom spaces are dominated by young girls, and it's so cool that in general this fandom is full of any kind of folks, but it's still not balanced, and it will get us a quite some time to close the gap. do we really want to take away a creative love expression from like half of the fandom? like, if we are taking it away from fic writers, then probably for the artists as well? which means i'm out, which then is not really holding me in the fandom anymore? fandom exists for fans from fans, idk if restrictions will help it be growing, living place

it's getting long now sorry!! i hope you get why it's not as simple as 280-characters tweet from a random person. it's not like twt is completely in the wrong, because I understand the source of their worries. Well, actually, he canceled next weekend's Comic Con. I guessed it was because he would be working on his new movie. It's not on their Ig page last I looked, but it is on their website. How shady of them to not announce it!

And as far as him, "only being nice because they pay for it," that's not true. I've met him in CPH, and he was wonderfully nice. He was just as sweet to me and my 2 girlfriends as he is at the Cons. Also, anyone I know that's met him outside of a Con has said the same thing. He stops and talks briefly, and he'll take a picture or snap a selfie with you... and at no charge. Haha He really seems to be just as sweet in person as he is when you see him at the Cons. So I don't think it's really fair to say he is ONLY doing it for the money... obviously, the money is good, or none of them would still be doing it, but I don't think that discounts how he is in general. He was an absolute sweetheart to us. (But we also didn't interrupt him with friends or family or during a meal or anything either.)

Tell me you don’t know anything about abusive relationships without telling me lmao. I am not going to sit here and write out a long explanation about why victims stay with their abusers, I’m just going to say you should do some research into it so that you stop victim blaming. She was over his place a lot and she likes to post about her life/take selfies/make TikToks, so naturally his place was in the background. I don’t see how that’s a problem, he didn’t care. Why do you think it’s a problem for him to date someone who likes social media when he doesn’t, I just don’t see the big deal in that at all, liking social media isn’t a toxic trait. I remember on the Frances hate blogs people would act like her posting selfies at his place was like exposing super personal info about him when in reality it’s such an insubstantial thing. Emma used to post selfies with Evan and take pictures in their shared home too, was she exposing him too? We don’t really know much about Evan and Frances’ relationship at all so it’s weird to be like “he just chose a toxic person because he wants that.” You don’t know if Frances was toxic towards him, you just think she was because you fell for all of the fanfiction on the Frances hate blogs. And let’s just say that we knew it was toxic, look into why abuse victims have a hard time getting back into healthy relationships after they’ve been abused.

I love your metas and the way you connect current episode's events to past episodes. I had a thought, but can't recall a way to connect it to a past episode, so I wanted to run it by you. Do you think there might be a parallel / contrast between the "nice" and "easy" romantic relationship with Ana for Eddie (per ep 4.13), versus what a romantic relationship with Buck might be for Eddie? Difficult and/or messy make some sense to me (and may be why Eddie hasn't yet gone there), but I don't recall anything from Eddie's past to support this. If you have a minute, I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you!

Awwwww, I’m so happy that you like them, hon! *hugs big* And that my memory manages to hold up and connect the dots, at least for now. XD As for what you’ve suggested, if they do make Buddie canon, I think there’s no doubt there’s going to be a contrast between the way Eddie is with Buck vs the way he is with Ana. If we look back at Shannon, the only other r/s we’ve seen Eddie in, there’s no doubt that there was passion there. They fall into bed together when they’re not supposed to, Shannon comments on how good the sex between them has always been, etc.

But then consider how Eddie already is with Buck! In 201, we see Eddie paying attention to him as Buck poses for a selfie in the gym, getting info about Buck before they even talked, looking for a way in to be his friend even though Buck’s initial hostility didn’t make that easy... Plus, the whole lawsuit arc. That moment when Eddie and Buck argue in the supermarket is in itself more passionate than anything Eddie and Ana have had so far. And it’s made it clear that it isn’t easy for Eddie to be so emotionally invested in Buck, because look at what not having Buck in his life does to him! He’s a mess. And yet, Eddie doesn’t back away from him, instead we get the epic forgiveness and hug of ep 306. It’s not easy being so close to Buck, but it’s worth it. In fact, they’re possibly even closer after the lawsuit, since we get to see their hang out night after it, not before (in 309, 312 and 403). And then there’s the infamous kitchen scene. When I wrote in my 413 meta, “[love is] challenging and makes you gulp because you want this thing so much” I was thinking of the way Eddie reacts to Buck grabbing his own belt and stepping right up into Eddie’s personal space with that flirtatious tone. You can practically hear the gulp. Beyond that, as far as we know (in canon), neither guy has been with a man before, so you know that’s going to add to the challenge of being together. It’s not gonna be easy. But, just like in the past, it’s gonna be worth it. ;) I hope I managed to answer your question, darling! xoxox

My stomach is in KNOTS - out of both pain and excitement 😫 Something that jumped out to me while watching the episode was the fact that when Eddie went to Buck about the woman poisoning her son, he said “I found the fund me pages.” But... it was Ana who found them. I love that there was no mention of her and he took credit for it. I’m not entirely sure of the reasoning but it makes me giggle thinking that Eddie wants to impress Buck so much or Ana is just so far removed from his mind that he didn’t even think about crediting her in solving this mystery. I don’t know how I’ll survive until Monday. I can’t breathe. I’m shaking. I don’t know how anything but Buddie is possible right now... here’s literally no other option. It wasn’t until I was trying to edit my meta notes (that I write while watching the ep live) into a coherent meta post that I realized she was completely absent from the ending of the ep. I was thinking absent in the physical sense (even Ali watching Buck on TV was a sort of physical presence, even if not on the scene), and when Eddie’s so focused on Buck during those last minutes of the ep, it’s pretty clear she’s not on his mind. But you’re right, she’s even absent from Eddie’s thoughts before the whole sniper incident and thank you for pointing it out! It’s hilarious. Poor Ana (I say as I chuckle to myself). And then contrast that with how Eddie HAD to credit Buck with helping him to build Christopher’s skateboard, though he totally could have taken all the credit to himself... we know who’s always on his mind, then. ;D And I’m with you, nothing other than Buddie makes sense given everything the show has done. Does that mean we are getting canon Buddie? If we see some sort of a feelings realization in 414, I def think so. It’s sadly still a gutsy move on the part of the show if they go there. On that time it was Buck the first one who realized how connected they are and how Eddie will be so important to him. So maybe this time it's Eddie's turn to realize that Buck is one for him and from there things will change just like that time. What do you think?

Something that always stood out to me in Jinx was Eddie (after his run in with Ana) coming up to the loft & saying he was having trouble sleeping (with a brief glance at Buck). Again in Suspicion (after Carla plants that seed of doubt), he tells Buck & Chim he had trouble sleeping. It's subtle & wouldn't matter much to a casual viewer, but it's now been implied twice that his relationship with Ana (whether to pursue it, to continue it) is causing restlessness. I hope they delve into this more.

I def see it in Jinx, Eddie runs into Ana earlier in the day, then he can’t sleep and the conversation between the team turns to Ana, courtesy of Buck who’s reading about love languages. I’m not sure about 413 though, just because the immediate suggestion would be that Eddie couldn’t sleep because he was bothered by what they found out (Sheila making her own son sick). Then again, that comment could be one of those double meaning things. Mystreet Rework: PDH S1 Episode 3+4

Episode 3:

-When Ivy is like "he's mine! he just doesn't know it!" Aph is like "im sorry what-" bc she actually realizes that this is weird (you cannot tell me that Sylvanna didn't give her a course on red flags)

-shes also less affected by the potato thing because i feel like whenever she failed at something in a game or overlooked something in a story shes like "im a stupid potato for not noticing this" so she's kinda used to it

-she doesnt take a selfie but does talk to FC

-she doesn't talk about Ivy outside of being like "yeahhh theres this annoying girl but still not as annoying as that one boss from *game*" FC still advises her to tell the teacher if she gets worse

-Dante is now a junior

-Note: the classes aren't all mixed with different years. There are some classes that freshman and sophomore are mixed, some classes that junior and senior are mixed (like certain electives), some classes with just one year (like math) and some classes with all grades (like werewolf class since it works with werewolves of all years)

-Travis is a bit more nervous without Dante

-Travis still has french and i feel like Aph would be his study buddy despite barely knowing any french

-Garroth and Laurance aren't in her creative writing class but she ends up sitting next to Kawaii~Chan

-Note: im keeping her name as Kawaii~Chan in universe since i feel like it fits with her changing her persona to stand out though she is commonly referred to as KC in-universe and by me

-KC is still bubbly but her personality is still a tiny bit toned down

-KC is actually a good writer, mainly writing romance

-KC and Aph talk about small things like hobbies and we get a small info bit about Meif'wa

-Zane actually sits in front of them (he writes darker things and has been using it as an outlet for awhile)

-Aph doesn't learn Laurance's name and with witchcraft this is a shared years class. more advanced witchcraft classes are offered at local colleges and the basics are at the high school

-she gets to see the argument with Katelyn and Lucinda who get detention

-also since Lucinda probably took witchcraft basics in her first year, and due to her stellar grades she's there as an assistant to help, especially since witchcraft and teenagers sometimes don't mix well together

Summed up: Aph can see some red flags with Ivy and is more unfazed by her, KC meets Aph, KC and Zane are in creative writing with Aph and the former two are actually decent writers, Katelyn and Lucinda get detention

Episode 4:

-we still get the Gene warning

-since Ivy is now a Junior to fit with the others' ages being aged up Aph doesn't get detention, and even if she was she still wouldn't get detention because she never saw Aph talking to Garroth

-and because Aph doesn't have detention part of this episode is cut

-Aph is basically a bit of a nervous wreck during gym, but most of it was just explaining things

-but she does go to the first anime club meeting (which is noted that their vice president is missing because he's supervising detention as a teachers aid)

-idk whos there yet but she just gets to talk to a few people about anime and such

-you cannot tell me Aaron wouldn't sneak his phone to talk to Shu a bit because sleeping teacher and two arguing girls

-he does kinda get involved with Katelyn and Lucinda's argument at one point unwillingly before the teacher aid dissolves it

-Laurance does find her after the meeting on account of being in a different club and they walk home together, with her getting his name and his number

-Sylvanna is like "is that a boy???" though she is less strict in terms of boys here

Summed up: Aph doesn't get detention, she goes to anime club and she and Laurance do learn each others names and get each others numbers

For scenarios... could I request rfa accidentally meeting MC before the party? no drama like "there's a bomb so I gotta run to your place" they just accidentally meet somewhere and MC recognises them from the pictures in the chatrooms and goes to greet them. Rika's apartment can't be far away from where the others live so it should be impossible. (if you can find a way to squeeze in V that's okay but you don't have to)

YOOSUNG:

MC and he were actually studying at the same university, but different subjects!

They had a common elective course of modern history though, one that Yoosung’s friends convinced him to take with them since they could share notes, and MC simply had an interest in it, and well, needed the extra credits

Neither of them really noticed each other at first-it’s a big classroom and it’s in the afternoons, so oftentimes Yoosung just skipped lmao

Once though Yoosung’s friends couldn’t make it to the class so he offered to go and take notes for the day, and rushed into the class a little late, so he took the first seat available-right next to MC

He struggled to both write and listen to the professor at the same time, and eventually he got a little behind with his notes. MC noticed his cute frustrated face and shared their notes with him, tapping him on the shoulder as they quietly pushed their papers to him

Yoosung’s happy face was stuck in MC’s mind-he wore his feelings on his sleeve and it was so refreshing to see someone this innocent at this day and age.

They became fast friends afterwards-exchanging facebook accounts and talking via messenger often, sometimes about the class, sometimes about anything and everything else

They even had study sessions to help each other study!

Near the end of the semester, and right when this extra class ended, is when MC stumbled upon the RFA messenger-and one look at Yoosung’s name along with his shooting star emoji got them excited to realise there’s a familiar face amongst this strangeness

The rest of the members found their friendship cute, and Zen constantly tried to play match-maker for the two, telling Yoosung that ‘he should’ve told the RFA he has such a cute girlfriend’ lmao

(*cue Yoosung flushing redder than Seven’s hair*)

ZEN:

No, contrary to what you might think, MC wasn’t his fan-they did however hear about Zen through friends interested in musicals, and agreed he was handsome

No, instead, they met him whilst helping out a friend who was working backstage at one of Zen’s shows-they needed help finishing up painting of some background sets, and MC offered to help them in their free time, and as a return their friend offered MC tickets to the show

Zen met MC whilst rehearsing-he knew MC’s friend and went over to say hi, and met MC, who he of course instantly tried to flirt with, even though he was half-kidding about it

Well, flirtatious nature aside, the two really hit it off, and became good friends-not that they were super close or anything, but Zen would stop and chat with MC after rehearsals, and he invited MC out along with the rest of the crew after the first successful run of the show

He didn’t exchange any social media accounts with MC, because quite frankly, he doesn’t have any lmao, and MC’s phone was broken so they couldn’t give him their number either

Zen insisted that if they leave it up to fate, they’ll meet again, and well-he was right

Lo and behold, MC joined the RFA, and whose face is the first they see in an oh-so-modest selfie?

Yup, Zen the Knight it is

His first words when he realised who MC was were ’See? I told you fate would find a way!’

Sure Zen,,,sure lol

JUMIN:

MC actually scored an interview as Jumin’s executive secretary!

They were so thrilled about it, and did their best to calm their nerves before the interview, knowing that being jittery and anxious would lead them nowhere

Well, they were more than shocked at Jumin’s cold behaviour, but they did their best to match his pace, answering each of his questions without missing a beat, mentioning their credentials without bragging about them

Honestly, Jumin was very pleased-he saw a perfect candidate across him, albeit a little inexperienced due to age, but that didn’t really matter to him-with a little training they’d be perfect for the job

Well, eventually though a better candidate came along, so MC was left with the rejection e-mail in their inbox, disappointed but ready to move on

They had all but forgotten about Jumin Han until stumbling onto the RFA and meeting him again, confused and surprised at the difference of his character in the chatrooms

They didn’t mention the interview at all, but Jumin has the memory of an elephant-one look at MC’s name reminded him of how he met them, and he reassured them that they were incredibly good at the interview and left an impression on him

It takes some getting used to his different attitude, but it’s refreshing to see a man they thought of as cold and calculated be a complete cat-loving goof-and it’s honestly one of the things that makes MC fall for Jumin

And vice-versa, Jumin remembers MC’s serious confident attitude at the interview, and is pleasantly surprised to learn what a gentle, kind person they are in the messenger

When they meet Jaehee though….boy are they glad they didn’t get the job lmao

*pat pat* it’s okay Jaehee…hang in there baby

JAEHEE:

MC was working part-time as a barista at a coffee shop near C&R!

It was a small independent shop, hidden in-between bigger franchises, but their coffee was great, and if there’s one person that loves good coffee, well, it’s Jaehee

The first time she visited the shop she was at a loss of what to order, the possibilities endless with all these brews of coffee they offered, and MC found Jahee’s flustered face adorable

They chatted her up to see what kind of flavours she likes and dislikes, and ended up making her a delicious cold brew with vanilla cream-just sweet enough to give her that sugar rush she needed, but not enough to hide the flavour of the coffee itself

Well, Jaehee was more than thrilled both at the taste, and at the cute cashier *wink wonk*, so she quickly became a regular at the shop

Yes this is your good ol’ cliche coffee AU DON’T JUDGE ME

She’d always stop for a cup of coffee before work, and would secretly be happy on the days she ended up meeting MC during their shift-she’d try and visit during her breaks too, when time would allow it, and would sit and sometimes chat with MC when the cafe wasn’t too busy

MC eventually learnt some stuff about Jaehee, that she works as a secretary to some annoying cat-loving rich dude (lmao sorry Jumin), that she loves coffee, and that her dream is to eventually open her own cafe, if circumstances allow it

One day, Jaehee went to the shop, knowing that MC had a shift at that time, but they were nowhere to be found-their co-workers said MC called in that they can’t make it today because something urgent came up, so Jahee nodded along, wondering if MC was okay

….well, she didn’t have to worry for too long, as not soon after she got her coffee and headed back to the office, a familiar name popped up on the RFA chatroom

Yup, this is a coffee shop au alright-just with some hacker and cat-loving twists lol

SEVEN:

You can never convince me that this boy is not an active reddit user, and you most definitely can Not convince me he isn’t in any and all paranormal and horror forums either

So he’s scrolling around on reddit one day, posting memes and trolling people, when he stumbles upon a really interesting thread someone made about the origins of mothman and possible sightings outside the USA

He’s hooked and spends a lot of time reading through the thread, intrigued by the sophisticated way the OP wrote their points and how well-thought of their evidences were

He started commenting on the thread and talking with the OP, who he soon became online friends with-he loved to chat with them about spooky stuff, cryptids, conspiracy theories and so forth

He didn’t talk much about himself, and would sometimes even make up some lies because he didn’t want to seem like a creep that won’t even share his name, but he couldn’t give out his info that easily; he did however tell them his code name, 707

Eventually they started talking outside of reddit too, through facebook messenger (i mean…we already know this dude has a facebook account and posts his cars there lmao), and is thrilled to find out more about his new online friend, MC, and to even find out they live far closer than he thought!

Well, he gets used to talking with MC almost everyday, and it’s actually one of the few highlights of his day-he’s never really had someone care for him the way this person, someone he hasn’t actually ever met in real life does. He wonders if they’d change their mind about him if they ever met him in real life, but shakes the thoughts away-it’s not as if this could ever develop into something more than an online friendship anyway

Well…or so you thought, Seven lol

When a stranger comes barging into the RFA messenger, he’s instantly tracing their steps and finding out all their internet activities, and lo and behold-whose facebook account is this that he ended up finding? Why, it’s none other than MC!

The moment Seven found out, he got suspicious; was MC just pretending to be online friends with him to hack into the RFA? Were they stealing information without him knowing?

It hurt to have to think this way, but how else could they be linked?

When he slowly found out MC was actually innocent, he was more than relieved-he secretly happy that he could now chat with them both online and on the RFA app, that he could share parts of himself with MC that he couldn’t before

to say he fell for them is the understatement of the century lmao

V/JIHYUN:

When he first started with photography, he took some classes at a local university to learn more about professional photography, photoshop e.t.c

And MC happened to be taking the same classes as him!

They often sat next to each other, not talking at first, but then their professors would sometimes ask them to pair up to work on assignments, and MC ended up paring up with Jihyun more than once

They became fast friends-Jihyun was a little distant, but always friendly in a cold, aloof way, and always polite, and he found MC to be so warm and gentle, he was naturally drawn to them

He did feel attracted to them, but never made a move-he was still struggling with so many things himself, he didn’t want to drag anyone else into his mess. He just wanted to focus on photography and that’s that

So whilst they talked a lot during university, as soon as they graduated, V drifted away, and when he even changed his phone number all communication was lost between the two

Well, time went on, and MC slowly began to forgot about the mint-coloured man they met, until they stumbled into the RFA chatroom

They didn’t realise it was Jihyun at first-he did change his name after all, and everyone in the char referred to him as V, but the way he texted was very familiar, even though MC couldn’t quite understand why

When he finally introduced himself, they were stunned. They didn’t want to ask him if he remembers them though-it’d be too embarrassing if he said he didn’t

But of course V did remember them-the moment Seven told him their name after his background check, all the memories came flooding back, opening up a Pandora’s box in his chest where he locked all those feelings away

Even if they’re back within arms’ reach, and even if they seem interested in him though…it’s useless. He’s far beyond repair, and if he didn’t want to drag MC into his mess then, he most certainly doesn’t want to drag them into it now

So he becomes distant again, more so than ever before but MC isn’t having it-they call him out on his bullshit, and tell him to square up and be honest otherwise they’re leaving

So V reluctantly admits to it all-to remembering MC, to his feelings towards them, and to his own cowardliness back then, and how it’s now too late to change anything; even if he wants to. God, he wants to.

Okay, finally back to finish my MinnCon recap!

I realized I never actually wrote about my photo ops on Saturday, despite putting the pictures up.

Honestly, it went by so fast that it's a bit of a blur, but it was awesome! I got to hug Rachel! And Ruth! And I got a great picture with Kim & Briana! Four amazing ladies that I didn't really know a whole lot about before this weekend, but they have now gained another fan for life. Seriously. Awesome.

So, got half of my photo ops on Saturday, other half on Sunday.

First thing Sunday morning, photo op with Rich! Because I just had to buy one after my Karaoke Selfie with him and Briana didn't work out.

Me: "Can I have a hug?"

Rich: "You may!"

I know everyone always talks about how amazing Jared's hugs are (and they speak truth!!), but seriously guys, look at that picture! Does that not look like an awesome hug? Because it really, really was. 😊

So then I went to wait in line for the auditorium to open. Sat down and started talking with the girl in line behind me - I wish I could remember her name, we ended up sitting next to each other and hanging out most of the day, but I only asked her name once, and now I can't remember! I think it started with an M, and I remember thinking it was a really pretty name.

Anyway, if you happen to see this, Sunday con friend from Shakopee who goes to the U and has a pretty name that I think starts with M, I would love to stay in touch! I meant to exchange contact info before we left and then I forgot. 😞

Loved the beginning of Ruth's panel! Hoping to see the rest of it online, because then I had to go get in line for my photo op with Jared.

And oh my gosh, I was shaking! Which surprised me a bit, because it seems like a lot of times when I think I'm going to be nervous about something, I end up being strangely calm. Yeah, not this time. Shaking.

I was glad I had my little note to give to Jared, because I know I would not have been able to get the words out. I was having a hard time even explaining the note to the volunteer/staff person when I got to the front of the line. She saw the notecard and asked if I had written down my pose and I said no, it's a note. So she wanted me to give it to the handler and they'd make sure Jared got it, and I couldn't get the words out to explain, "No, I'm autistic and this is my way of communicating right now because I know I'm not going to be able to get the words I want to come out of my mouth."

But! The line was moving quickly and I ended up being able to hand the note to Jared. (Although now I'm totally doubting myself and afraid that I did the wrong thing and what if the note was too personal or too heavy and what if I broke the rules about no personal stories without meaning to and they think I'm one of those fans who just thinks the rules don't apply to me and......)

And once again, it's all kind of a blur, but he read the note and told me he was proud of me, and he hugged me (and he really, really does give amazing hugs!!):

And then I do clearly remember his hand on the back of my head, ruffling my hair a bit, and he told me that he was proud of me again. 😊😊😊

And I was still kind of shaking as I walked away, but I was also so happy because I got to hug Jared and thank him for AKF and let him know just a little bit of how SPN and AKF have helped me, and he told me he was proud of me!!!

And that was secretly the one thing I really wanted to hear from him. I really wanted to hear that he was proud of me, and I actually got to hear that and it meant so much.

Back up to the auditorium then, and thanks to my new friend for saving my seat! 💜

Mark Pellegrino's panel was next. I'm not really a huge fan, to be honest he kind of creeps me out. For those of you who like him, that's cool, you do you, you won't be getting any hate from me, but I don't really have anything to say here.

Finally, it was time for Jared & Jensen's panel It was awesome and hilarious and I laughed so much. Especially at Jared's bad jokes. Bad jokes are my favorite kind of jokes, and he told a bunch of them!

(Sidenote, one thing I love about my family is that we have pretty much all read Garrison Keillor's "Pretty Good Joke Book" enough times that if one of us starts telling a joke, someone else will finish it and we'll just start rapid-fire telling all these awesome bad jokes and it's the most hilarious thing. One of my personal favorites? "What's brown and sticky?" (A stick) OR. Another one: "What's orange and sounds like a parrot?" (A carrot.) 😂 Okay, I'm going to stop now because I keep thinking of more and they're just not as funny when you read them.)

Anyway. I'm so bad at remembering everything that was said, but it was a really good time, and I know it's up on YouTube for anyone who wasn't there (or anyone who *was* there and just wants to relive it like me 😜)

Then I went to go grab some food, because I was *really* hungry.

And then it was time for my J2M photo op! And so I was shaking again. Not quite as bad this time, but still. Was having a hard time talking, but I managed to say something like, "I just really want a hug!" And so I got a hug from the guys and I look kind of ridiculous because I had no idea what to do with my hands so I'm just like... standing there...but it was still awesome. 😁

Then I hung out for a while, waiting for my photo to be ready to pick up. Browsed the vendor booths and bought a bunch more stuff.

Eventually picked up my last picture and then it was time to go. And I really didn't want to. There were a couple other people standing by the door feeling the same way - "Once we go out these doors, it's over..." so that helped a bit. Knowing I wasn't the only one having a hard time leaving.

But eventually we all walked out the door and I went back to my car and headed home. I had said that I *might* stop by my parents' house on the way, but then I had a little talk with myself (out loud) while I was driving that went something like this:

"Now, I know you told them you might stop over, but you said *might*! You do not have to. And you are not going to, because it's a BAD IDEA. You are going to go home and you are going to relax, and you are going to skip going to mom and dad's house because it's a BAD IDEA. I know you feel like it's a good idea right now, because you're really excited and you feel like you have to share that with someone, but they are not going to share your excitement. You know what's going to happen if you go over there? They will probably ask about how much money you spent, and even if you don't tell them, they will lecture you about how much money you spent, and they will *not* get it, and you will end up feeling like shit! So you know what? Let's NOT DO THAT! We are going to go home and we are going to be happy and we are going to go on the internet where people will actually get it and share in the excitement. So there." (I think there were also some "Fuck that!"s thrown in there too, because Kim and Briana's language kinda rubbed off on me a little bit, which is totally not a bad thing! 😜)

So I did the smart self-caring thing and went home, and it was a good decision.

Also, I made a Twitter at some point in the past few days, because going to MinnCon kind of brought me out of my shell just a little bit and I really want to keep moving in that direction and actually interacting with people instead of hiding and lurking. It doesn't matter if it's service for B to B or B to C, but there are a few growth hacks you can do. Number one, have the phone number on your site top right. It helps get you more calls. You'll notice in the service-based business; you'll close more people over phone calls than anything else. Number two, have lead forms on every single page. I'm not joking, every single page. If you don't have it on every single page, you're not going to generate as many leads. Get a free quote, or learn how to improve your interior design, or let us help you determine which colors are right for your home. You have to give them some advice and some help. Pasquale here is treating our videos, and he does video stuff, so if he wanted more clients, he couldn't just say, hey put in your information if you're going to pay me for video services. He's like, hey if you're going to figure out what kind of videos you should film, how you should film them, the environment, if you need a studio, or you should do in person videos, or selfie styled videos. Fill out your information; we'll jump on a call. I'll give you a free consultation. People love free consultations. Those exact words, free consultation. I can't emphasize that enough. Give people some free info, some free consultation. Genuinely try to help me, you'll collect a lot of leads. You need to help and educate. You can't just pitch people all day long; it doesn't work well. Now that you got that done you should do an exit pop up. You can also collect leads from that, and educate and offer a free consultation. I'm serious; if you do the same pitch multiple times, it still converts well. And when you're doing your forms for your consultations, a lot of people like asking name, email, phone number, location, like ten different fields. You could do that, but what I recommend is the first few fields name and email, and then on the next set ask for the phone and all the other information. Take some of the tactics; I've created a lot of videos that break down a lot of marketing tactics and test five or six of them out. And don't spend more than 50 bucks on quite a few of these tactics. See which one's producing the best results, and then from there double down on the one that's producing the best. Because it is different for every business. See what's hot, write some articles, publish em on your blog. Hit up all the people who shared the original one on Buzzsumo, make sure your content's better than theirs or else they're not going to share it.
