Look, I know that in the Star Wars fandom we love our pain and suffering and unspeakable trauma, but...here are some of my soft Jedi Order headcanons:
You know all those silly sleepover games that kids play? Yeah, imagine that but with the Force.
Older Padawans all have to teach younglings at some point. This helps keep different generations of Jedi connected and also gives Padawans teaching experience while they're still under the guidance of a Master.
It's rare that the Order takes in actual babies but sometimes it happens. So please picture a bunch of little Jedi kids cooing over a tiny baby until a grown-up shoos them away because babies need their sleep.
Initiates and Padawans competing to see who can come up with the laziest possible use of telekinesis.
Jedi kids using their lightsabers to toast marshmallows for s'mores.
Masters gently admonishing their Padawans for using their sacred weapons to make s'mores as if they didn't do the exact same thing when they were kids.
Jedi. Aunties.
Whenever a Jedi goes through a rite of passage significant to their other culture (i.e. Mirialan Jedi getting their tattoos), every other Jedi from that culture knows about it somehow. They go out of their way to congratulate each other even if they've never actually met before.

Aaron: I have an army.  Louise: We have a Amarist.
Amarist: Why are you like this??  Lake: I used too much "No More Tears" shampoo as a kid and I haven't felt a single emotion since.
Aaron, barging in: Syphilis!  Louise: Aaron: Louise: Pardon?
Crim: Hey guys, I’m making french toast sticks in the oven. I’m gonna take a quick nap, so wake me up in 5 minutes to flip them over.  *5 minutes later*  Hailey: Crim it’s been 5 minutes, time to flip your sticks.  Crim: snnnzzzz...  Hailey: CRIM YOUR STICKS!
Aaron: My future partner must be brave, strong, intelligent, successful and organized.  Louise: *steps on a caterpillar and proceeds to drop to their knees and sob while apologizing profusely*  Aaron: That one. I want that one.
Aaron: Why are there little handprints all over the walls?  Louise, whispering: Why are there little handprints all over the walls?  Glen, whispering: Because I have little hands.  Louise: Because she has little hands.
Louise: Where are your parents?  Glen: What are parents?  Louise: That’s just about the saddest thing I've ever heard.

The Ultimate Guide to Building Your Dream Gaming PC
Tumblr media
So, you're ready to dive headfirst into the world of gaming? You want to experience those breathtaking graphics, lightning-fast response times, and the thrill of competing in the virtual arena. Well, you're in the right place. In this guide, we're going to explore the exhilarating world of building your very own Gaming PC.
In the gaming universe, a well-crafted gaming PC is your trusty steed, your magic wand, your lightsaber. It's not just a piece of technology; it's a portal to new realms, a gateway to adrenaline-packed adventures. And the best part? It's an investment that can be customized to your heart's desire. You get to be the architect of your own digital world.
In this article, we'll break down everything you need to know about building a Gaming PC that'll make your friends green with envy. We'll discuss the essentials, the components, and the process, all while adopting a conversational tone that'll make this journey feel like a thrilling quest.
The Core Components
Think of your gaming PC as a finely tuned orchestra, with each component playing a distinct role. These components need to work in perfect harmony to deliver that epic gaming experience you crave. Here's a rundown of the core components:
1. The CPU - The Brain of Your PC
Your CPU (Central Processing Unit) is like the conductor of this orchestra. It's the brain that processes all the instructions and keeps everything in sync. When you're gaming, it's making sure your enemies' heads roll and your allies stay in formation.
Rhetorical Question: Ever tried playing a graphics-intensive game on a potato? It's like sending a knight into battle with a spoon instead of a sword!
2. The GPU - The Visual Virtuoso
The GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) is your visual virtuoso. It's the one responsible for rendering those lifelike worlds and incredible details in your games. Without a potent GPU, your gaming experience might feel like watching a movie in 144p.
Analogy: Trying to game without a good GPU is like driving a race car with a blindfold on.
3. RAM - The Quick-Thinker
RAM (Random Access Memory) is like the short-term memory of your PC. It helps store data that your CPU and GPU need for quick access. The more RAM you have, the quicker your PC can think, which is essential for seamless gaming.
Rhetorical Question: Ever tried running a marathon after an all-you-can-eat buffet? Your PC feels the same way when it's low on RAM.
4. Storage - The Library of Games
Your storage drive is where all your games, applications, and files are stored. You'll want a combination of SSD (Solid State Drive) for fast load times and an HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for mass storage. It's like having a library with both quick-reference books and your vast collection of novels.
Metaphor: Think of your SSD as an express lane at a supermarket, and your HDD as the shelves at a warehouse.
5. Motherboard - The Nervous System
The motherboard is the backbone of your PC. It connects all the components and ensures they can communicate effectively. It's like the nervous system of your PC, ensuring all the signals are transmitted seamlessly.
Analogy: If your components were actors, the motherboard would be the director, making sure everyone hits their cues.
6. Power Supply - The Energy Source
The power supply unit (PSU) is what provides the energy to all your components. Without a reliable PSU, your PC won't even start. It's like having a sword without a hilt.
Rhetorical Question: What's the point of having a legendary sword if you can't draw it from the scabbard?
7. Cooling System - The Chill Factor
Gaming can push your PC to its limits, and that means generating a lot of heat. A robust cooling system, including fans and possibly liquid cooling, keeps your PC from overheating. It's like a medieval knight's armor - without it, you're toast.
Analogy: Imagine wearing a heavy suit of armor on a scorching day. That's how your PC feels without proper cooling.
8. Case - The Exoskeleton
Your PC's case is like its exoskeleton. It holds everything together and keeps it safe. Plus, it's the part everyone sees, so it's an opportunity to show off your unique style.
Rhetorical Question: Would you go to a medieval jousting tournament wearing rags? Your PC deserves better too!
Crafting Your Dream Gaming PC
Now that you're acquainted with the key components let's dive into the nitty-gritty of putting it all together. Building a gaming PC is like crafting a legendary weapon. You start with raw materials and assemble them to create something extraordinary.
1. Set Your Budget and Goals
Before you embark on this quest, you must establish your budget. Much like a knight's quest, you'll need the right gear, but you don't want to overspend. Determine how much gold you're willing to part with, and keep that in mind as you choose your components.
Rhetorical Question: Would a knight set off on a quest without counting his coins?
2. Choose Your CPU and GPU
The CPU and GPU are the heart and soul of your gaming PC. Depending on your budget and the level of gaming performance you desire, choose these components wisely. Do you want a sword that cuts through dragons like butter, or are you content slaying goblins in the forest?
3. RAM and Storage Selection
Select the right amount of RAM, typically 16GB or more, and a combination of SSD and HDD. You don't want your PC to be constantly running back to the armory for supplies during battle.
4. Find the Perfect Motherboard
Ensure the motherboard you choose is compatible with your CPU and GPU. It's like picking the right commander for your army - they need to be on the same page.
5. Don't Skimp on the PSU
The PSU is the lifeblood of your gaming PC. Make sure it's reliable and has enough power for your components. You don't want your sword breaking mid-duel.
6. Keep It Cool
Choose an efficient cooling system to prevent your PC from overheating during intense battles. A knight wouldn't head into a dragon's lair without a plan to deal with the heat, right?
7. Pick the Perfect Case
Your case is your PC's armor and the first thing people see. Choose one that not only protects your components but also reflects your personal style.
Rhetorical Question: Would a knight go into a jousting tournament with a rusty suit of armor?
The Assembly
Now that you've gathered your components, it's time to assemble them into a fearsome gaming PC. Think of this step as forging the sword from the finest materials.
1. Ground Yourself
Much like a knight must be grounded in reality before a battle, you need to ground yourself before handling your components. Static electricity can damage them, so invest in an anti-static wrist strap or mat.
2. CPU and RAM Installation
Install the CPU into the motherboard and add the RAM. This is like fitting the hilt onto your sword and inscribing it with runes for power.
3. Motherboard and GPU
Mount the motherboard in the case and install the GPU. These are the foundations of your PC, like forging the blade and hilt.
4. Storage Drives and PSU
Connect your storage drives and the PSU. This is like adding the scabbard and ensuring your sword is sharp.
5. Cable Management
Proper cable management is essential. It's like making sure your armor fits perfectly - it should be snug and unobtrusive.
6. Cooling System
Install your cooling system to ensure your PC doesn't overheat during intense battles.
7. Case and Finishing Touches
Finally, put your PC in its case and give it some finishing touches. Your knight is now dressed in his finest armor, ready for battle.
Booting Up
Your PC is assembled, but it's just a lifeless shell until you breathe life into it. Booting it up for the first time is like waking a sleeping dragon.
1. Operating System
Install your chosen operating system, which is like teaching your dragon the commands to obey.
2. Drivers and Updates
Install all the necessary drivers and updates, akin to giving your dragon new abilities and powers.
3. Game On!
With everything set up, it's time to load your favorite games and embark on epic adventures.
Upgrades and Maintenance
As a knight continually hones his skills and maintains his armor, your gaming PC will require upkeep and upgrades to stay at its peak performance.
Rhetorical Question: Would a knight head into a tournament with a rusty sword and a battered shield?
Regularly update your GPU drivers, clean your PC to prevent dust buildup, and consider upgrading components as technology advances.
Conclusion
Building a gaming PC is a thrilling adventure, much like a knight embarking on a quest to slay dragons and rescue princesses. It's an investment in your gaming experience, allowing you to customize and create a machine perfectly tailored to your desires. So, arm yourself with knowledge, choose your components wisely, and embark on this epic journey to craft your dream gaming PC.
Much like the knights of old, you'll emerge victorious in the virtual arena, ready to face any challenge that comes your way. It's time to unsheathe your sword and embrace the exhilarating world of gaming, all thanks to the mighty Gaming PC you've crafted with your own hands.

the one where you finally tell him (poe dameron x reader)
summary: after an emotional battle, poe asks you a simple question - your answer is a bit more complicated than he intended (requested by anon!)
also ft. queen zorii bliss
this is set a little bit after the celebrations at the end of rise of skywalker. also i have been high low key in love with keri russell since i saw her in waitress which isn’t relevant to this but i felt the need to let u all know anyways. enjoy!
- jazz
Tumblr media
The air was warm; filled with laughter and chatter and joy, but still with a sense of mourning for those that had been lost. The post-battle celebrations had begun to fizzle out a few hours ago, leaving a remaining few around a campfire. You were sat between Poe and Finn, a beer in your hand and a tired smile on your face as you chattered away.
The fire was still crackling away in front of you, leaving a burning warmth on your skin and an orange glow cast across your features. A few embers fell from the flames as the evening wind blew across the base, a nice contrast against the heat of the fire. You occasionally turned to glance up at Poe; his dark eyes were tired, deep-set with the stress of the last few years. He had a beer in one hand, and his other splayed out on your knee.
Now that the war was over - and you still couldn’t believe it - you’d actually had a chance to think about your feelings for him. Of course, they’d always been there but they’d increased ten fold over the last week. Watching him step up to the role of general and lead the fight against the First Order had reminded you why you’d fallen for him in the first place.
‘So, what was Poe like before he left Kijimi?’ Finn asked, curious eyes falling on Zorii.
She was on Poe’s otherside, gloved hands clasped tightly in her lap, the rusty glow of the fire reflecting off of her helmet. You couldn’t see her face - only her eyes. But, thanks to the burning glow of light before you, they were glowing a bright blue, occasionally crinkling at the sides whenever Poe said something funny.
‘You think he’s a pain in the ass now,’ Zorii replied, ‘but you should have met him then.’
‘Please,’ Poe snorted, ‘you love me really.’
He took his hand from your leg, freeing up his arm to elbow his former comrade in the side. You immediately missed his touch, but pushed the thought to the back of your head. You weren’t his - you weren’t with him. What right did you have to get jealous?
Still, you couldn’t deny that he was closer with you than he was with anybody else. Poe had always been a physical person but more-so with you. It was standard for him to have his hand on your back or resting the back of his neck; he’d sometimes intertwine your fingers when you walking to-and-from places and he loved to hug you. Any outsider would have assumed that you were a couple.
‘Keep telling yourself that, Dameron.’ Zorii shot back, thinning her eyes at him.
‘You’re calling me the pain in the ass, but I distinctly remember you being a nasty piece of work too.’ Poe reminded her.
‘That’s not the impression I got a few days ago when you asked to kiss me.’
A shower of beer ejected from your mouth as you choked, showering Poe straight in the face. He blinked in shock for a moment, eyes wide as he wiped the alcohol from his face, dragging his hand down the back of your shirt to dry it off. He gave you a frown, hand moving to your shoulder.
‘You good there, Y/N?’ He asked, giving your arm a light squeeze.
‘Yeah,’ you cleared your throat, ‘sorry - the beer...It went up my nose.’
‘Happens to the best of us,’ Zorii chuckled.
You stood up, dusting your hands on your jeans. ‘I’m gonna go...clean my X-Wing. See you guys in the morning?’
A chorus of yeah, see you soon’s echoed from the group as you waved goodbye.
You gave them one last slightly pained smile before trudging away, boots sinking into the wet ground. A few splatters of mud splashed up your jeans - you hadn’t even realised how heavy your footsteps were. You also hadn’t realised that Poe was following behind you, jogging to catch up with you.
‘Hey!’ He called. He grabbed your arm, forcing you to face him as he planted his hands on your shoulders. ‘Why’d you lie?’
‘What?’ You furrowed your brow. ‘Poe, I didn’t lie.’
‘You’re going to clean your X-Wing?’ The words rolled off of his tongue in a mocking tone.
‘Yeah, I am.’
‘Yyou don’t have an X-Wing.’ He ruffled your hair, fingers lingering slightly as he moved a few strands away from your eyes.
‘Oh, yeah. That.’ You dropped your eyes to the ground, a sheepish look on your face. You had an innate inability to lie to Poe Dameron. ‘I suppose that might get in the way of my task.’
He put two fingers under your chin, guiding your face up to look at him. He looked beautiful under the late night glow of the moon; his brown eyes were gorgeous, his signature smirk more stupidly attractive than it ever had been before. You just wanted to kiss his dumb face.
‘So, why’d you actually leave?’ Poe enquired. ‘Not that I’m doubting your ability to clean a jet that doesn’t exist.’
Curse Poe Dameron and his ironclad logic.
You thought about telling him - just for a split second. It was a lingering thought, the kind that flashes in and out of your mind before you could properly consider it. A few hours ago, you didn’t even know if the pair of you were going to make it out the battle alive. Then, as though you had an angel and a devil resting on your shoulders, a tiny voice reminded you that he wouldn’t have asked to kiss Zorii if he liked you.
‘I’m just tired.’ You lied.
‘Let me rephrase my question,’ Poe said. ‘What made you feel so bad that you had to lie about why you were leaving?’
‘It’s dumb.’ You muttered.
‘Hey, it’s me. I’m not gonna judge you.’ He reminded you. His hands were still on your shoulders, thumbs occasionally rubbing tiny circles on your skin. ‘And if I do, it comes from a place of love.’
There it was: love. The friendship kind of love. The comrade kind of love. The circumstantial kind of love. Every kind of love that a person could possibly feel except the kind you wanted. The kind you needed.
‘I...I like you, Poe.’ You finally said, a bumbling of words building up in your chest. Here it came. A whole ass speech. A year’s worth of feelings, broken like a dam.
‘And I have for a really long time and I thought that maybe, just maybe, you could like me too, because you’re always touching me and laughing at my jokes when they are clearly not funny, and after the battle when I thought we were toast, I promised myself that if we made it out alive, I would tell you - but then I saw you with Zorii and I realised that you like her and not me and it feels like someone just skewered my heart with a lightsaber and served it to me on a plate like a fucked up hors d'oeuvres but I’m fine-’
‘- Jesus!’ Poe cut you off, violently shaking you by the shoulders. ‘You gotta breathe, baby.’
His eyes were just as wide as yours, both of you like a deer in headlights. Having realised that a simple I like you would have sufficed, you wanted to crawl up and die.
‘Oh, god.’ You whispered under your breath, cheeks burning bright red. ‘I am so sorry-‘
‘- are you daft?’ he took your face in his hands, pressing his forehead to yours. ‘I - that’s what I’ve always wanted to hear. I thought it was blatantly obvious that I was in love with you.’
‘I -’ you couldn’t quite find the words. ‘I love you too.’
‘There we go then.’
‘But what about Zorii?’ You asked. ‘She said that you asked to kiss her-’
‘- it’s a figure of speech.’ He chuckled quietly, breath tickling your face. ‘Don’t you remember the time that you asked Leia if you could kiss her?’
Your chest hurt slightly at the mention of the general’s name. You knew that you were going to face many losses in battle, but not Leia. She seemed like the kind of person who would turn up at death’s door and tell it to fuck off.
‘Sometimes people say it and they mean it,’ Poe continued. ‘Like this: can I kiss you?’
A small laugh escaped your lips as his hand moved to the back of your neck, pulling your face towards him. A shiver ran down your spine as your lips finally brushed in a soft kiss, one of your hands tangling in his curly hair. Poe moved to hold you by the hips, arms wrapping your torso as he lifted you off the ground.
‘You love me,’ you murmured against his lips. ‘Who would have thought?’
‘And you love me,’ He reminded you, ‘I’m going to remember that speech for a long time.’
You let out a groan, hiding your face in his shoulder as he dropped you back down to the ground. Pulling you towards him, Poe buried his head in your hair to hide his chortles, bodies swaying side to side as you caught your balance
‘I’m never gonna live it down, am I?’
‘Never.’

Obi Wan x Padawan Reader Never Lie to Me
Pairing: Sith Obi Wan Kenobi x padawan reader
Summary : Reader misplaces something important and tries to find it before her Master can find out.
Warnings: language, sexual themes, *slight smut*
***************************************************
Hello my loves! Ok so I absolutely love Sith obi wan but for some reason I struggle to write him. I tried something and hopefully it's not complete trash like I think it is lol anywaaaaaaays enjoy😚
18+ readers only!
*************************************************
Oh this was bad...this was very very bad....
Okay y/n don't freak out, you can hide this! You can totally hide this!!
Fuck no you couldn't
You groaned sliding down the wall of your chambers. How could you be so stupid?! Losing your lightsaber like that?! Did you have a death wish?!
You could only imagine how enraged your master would be.. you shook your head violently dissipating the horrible thoughts.
No no no, it would not come to that becasue you would find it. It probably fell somewhere by your speeder. Yeah it's there for sure.....probably.....
Sighing you stood up and grabbed a cloak to cover your hip and the usual missing weapon spot that hung there.
You couldn't help but imagine all the horrible scenarios that ran through your mind if Master kenobi found out.
One included merciless unending training, not letting you rest for even a moment.
Another image had you bent over his knee whilst he.... ughhh you could already feel the sting.
Your master and you had a...unique relationship to say the least... he was your master in the ways of the dark side, so you had a strict student master dynamic during training.
He took your training very seriously, leaving little room for error. But as some point his punishments got more....creative..
You couldn't help but feel your face heat up remembering that time you screwed up a mission and he saw to your reprimanding. From then on your relationship became more....personal.
He didnt give you any special treatment, and didnt allow any distractions during training. But the times after training...when he would call you to his chambers and.....
You couldn't help but feel your heart skip a beat, or two, or twenty, and you couldn't help but to recall those moments..
That scent...
Those whispers..
His fingers.....
"What are you thinking about?" A smooth voice cut through your indecent thoughts like butter. You whipped around startled that the man in question was now standing right behind you.
Quickly you made sure your shields were up, something you had made sure to refine. You didnt want him hearing all your dirty thoughts during training...
"I-I was just thinking about the mission.." you took a step back trying to regain your composure. Why did you always manage to act like a floundering idiot when he was around?!
"Hmm, is it really the mission that has you so flustered?" He mused stepping closer.
"Or something else?"he smirked knowingly.
Bastard, he must've read my thoughts before I realized he was here...
"It's-" you attempted to change the subject before he cut you off.
"And I know you know better than to lie to me don't you?" He said slightly more serious. A familiar dark edge to his voice.
You gulped, "Yes master..."
"I was thinking of other things..." you trail off averting your gaze hoping he wouldnt make you say it out loud.
Although he'd technically seen you naked quite a few times now, you still felt so embarrassed regarding anything or your "intimate moments". This was due mostly to the many embarrassing things he made you do....well ok to be fair you didnt REALLY try to stop him...but the second those moments were over you could barely look him in the eyes.
You felt those familiar warm finger gently lift your chin. You met his deep gaze,
"Speaking of other things...you did rather well on the mission, we were able to conquer the planet thanks to your efforts, so I suppose a reward is in order...dont you agree darling?" He whispered the last part in your ear making you shiver slightly.
Oh how you enjoyed those rewards of his...quite possibly the only time he would treat you gently. Well there were those times he wasnt so gentle either...actually maybe you liked those more...
AH WAIT WHAT AM I DOING, I NEED TO FIND MY SABER!!
You place you hands on his chest and gently push.
"A-actually master I wondered if I might have your permission to leave the ship I..wanted too...look around a bit more before we have to leave!" You hurriedly came up with an excuse.
He stepped back, eyeing you for a moment before nodding his approval, "Alright, be back before nightfall" he warned and continued walking down the hall.
As soon as he was out of sight you let out a sigh of relief. Hopefully he bought that story. You quickly made your way to the ship's exit and onto the lush planet known as Misano.
Normally you would've liked a chance to explore and maybe even sneak some souvenirs back. But you had no time for that now. If you didnt find that saber soon you were toast. And it didnt help that Misano turned from a tropical paradise to a frozen tundra trap by nightfall. It was truly a unique planet.
But you could admire it another time, preferably when your life wasn't on the line...
************************************
You looked up at the setting sky as dread washed over you. You had scoured and searched for your blasted saber for hours but it was no use. You had retraced your steps multiple times and even question some of the citizens to see if they knew anything.
You didnt want to even humor the idea but now it was the most likely truth. Some lowlife had probably picked it up and would soon be rolling in credits.
You pulled your cloak tighter around you as the wind started to pick up. You knew you should start to head back before it got too cold but honestly freezing to death sounded better than whatever punishment you master would enforce...
************************************
You were now full on shivering as you made your way back to the ship. The sun had set long ago and you now knew why everyone kept warning you to get inside. Your boots the only reason you could trudge through the many layers of snow.
You must've questioned every suspicious looking citizen however no luck. Your saber was probably gone forever and on top of that punishment you were sure your master was going to be angry that you disobeyed and stayed out later than he permissed.
Ughh I should just let myself freeze over...
Another half an hour later you finally made it back to the ship. Immediately you dragged yourself through the halls to your room and ordered your droid servant to run a hot bath. You were extremely lucky that master kenobi hadn't spotted you yet.
You could barely feel anything and felt horribly tired. Even the steam rising from afar felt like heaven as it reached your frost bitten skin.
You removed your practically stiff cloak but had no energy for the rest so you plopped fully clothed into the steaming water, immediately sighing in relief as you slowly felt feeling returning to all parts of your body.
You rested your head back and took a deep breath, inhaling the warm air.
*achoo* fuck...
you could already feel your nose becoming stuffed and there was a slight scratch in your throat. Perfect, getting sick was just what you needed.
After you were fully warmed up, you drained the water and lazily wrapped a fluffy towel around you. You felt the exhaustion of the mission plus everything afterwards tenfold as soon as your body hit the mattress.
You spread out lazily letting the cool sheets relax your now warmed body, covers discarded on the floor.
Your eyes drooped slowly closed once, focused on the space by the end of your bed, you tried to fight off sleep but it was proving difficult,
You opened them but slowly they drooped closed again,
The third time however you saw a blurry outline of a man.
"M-master!" Like a rocket you sat up, heart beating out of your chest. You quickly pulled up the towel over your chest.
"Y-you scared me..." You placed a hand over your beating chest trying to catch your breath. You had been too tired to even sense him coming.
He stood with his arms crossed, an unreadable expression on his face. "I distinctly remember telling you to be back before dark did I not?" He stepped closer until he was right at the end of the bed.
Oh Crap hes mad.... you sat up a little straighter trying to ignore the fact you were practically naked in front of him.
"I'm sorry master, the time got away from me..." your mouth feeling unnaturally dry as the lie left your lips.
You hated lying to him. Well you hated what usually happened when you lied to him and he found out....
He eyed you silently before leaning over the bed intimidatingly close. He leaned next to your ear before speaking,
"You're lying" a dangerous edge to his voice now
You felt your heart stop and a rush of panic fill you. Fuck fuck fuck.
Slowly he came back into view.
His eyes were a threatning color now. A silent deadly warning to choose your next words carefully. You had just broken his one rule. And he knew...
You felt a million emotions running through you. Fear, for getting caught breaking his most important rule. Shame for being stupid enough to lose something so important. And Guilt for lying to the one person you never ever wanted to lie too...
"Ah I-I'm Sorry!!" You blurted out suddenly. "I-I didn't mean too! But so much was going on with the mission!! A-and I must've been distracted and I swear I tried master I really did! B-but no one knew anything and then it started getting dark and cold a-and I didnt know what to do so I came back, but I didnt want you to be disappointed or mad so I didnt tell you the truth and I'm so so so sorry!!" You bowed your head breathing heavily, hardly realizing that your explanation made no sense. Your eyes shut tightly shielding you from his whatever horrible expression he surely had on his face.
A few moments of dreadful silence passed before you felt him shift.
"Look at me" you barely felt the ghostly touch of his fingers guide your chin up.
You sucked in a nervous breathe when you realized you were only inches from his face. His eyes were dark and penetrating. Whenever he looked at you like this you felt completely exposed. Like he could see right through your soul.
"Now calm down and tell me the truth little one" he said dangerously calm. Sometimes that was even scarier then when he yelled...
Taking a deep breathe you gathered your wits and with a deeply ashamed tone you confessed, "I lost my lightsaber.." you could feel burning at the corner of your eyes but you continued through it, "I looked for it everywhere but..." you looked down again dejectedly. What a dumb apprentice I am.. hes probably so disappointed in me.. "I'm sorry Master.."
You waited for what felt like hours until he spoke, "I know" he said in an even tone.
Your eyes shot open in surprise, "w-what?"
"How many times must I remind you nothing happens without me knowing about it."
"So then..." he knew you were lying all along...
"Yes my apprentice" he grasped your chin slightly harder now but still somehow gentle, "When will you learn..." he slowly ran his thumb over your bottom lip, dragging it down, "that you can't hide anything from me.." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I know..I'm sorry, I was just afrai-" he cut you off with a sharp slap to your thigh.
"What have I told you about lying to me?" he caressed your bare thigh making it harder for you to focus.
"That-that I am never to lie to you...no matter what..." your breath hitched as his hand inched closer across your thigh and to your most sensitive area. However just when he was inches away he abruptly removed all contact.
You immediately felt sad at the loss.
"Exactly, and yet you did exactly that" he nodded his head, "I'm disappointed little one, especially since if you had told the truth..." he reached behind him grabbing something and bringing it forward, "you could've saved yourself alot of trouble"
You let out a gasp, "My saber!!" He let you take it from his grasp, you beamed finally feeling whole again.
"But how did you..?" You asked confused where and how he had found it.
"It fell when you jumped on your speeder during the battle" he explained nodding slightly in exasperation.
So this whole time he had it?! And that means he knew all day that you.....
"I shouldnt have lied" you apologized sincerely. "I just didn't want to disappoint you..especially since I did so well on the mission..." you mustered the best regretful expression you could. "Are you angry with me...?" You couldn't help but ask.
After a moment he smiled slightly, resting his rough palm on your cheek, "No..well not anymore, I was more upset that you risked your health by staying out too long, however I do sense your deep regret, so this time I'll let it slide"
Whoa did I hear that correctly, hes going to let it slide?? My master?? Had he hit his head during battle??
"Thank you Master, I promise it won't happen again" you meant it this time.
"Oh I know it wont pet" you shivered at the pet name he called you. He suddenly force pulled you closer until you were basically straddling him. You let out a shriek.
"Because this time.." he placed a firm hand on the back of your neck pulling you in for a possessive kiss.
He pulled away slightly and you felt his hot breathe by your ear, "I'll make sure you remember what happens when you don't." Suddenly you were on you back, towel thrown across the room.
"Whaa what?! I thought you said I was off the hook?!" You blushed fiercely as he force held your hands and legs to each corner and stood back to admire your helpless form.
He smirked wickedly, "I said you were off the hook for staying out too late.. however..." you gasped as you felt invisible fingers begin to tease your most sensitive area.
"For lying to me.." he eyed you with a gaze now hooded with lust and a dangerous glint, "You will be punished until I am certain you've learned your lesson my darling..."

If I Were You Pt. 3: Fives x Reader
‘-Uhmmm yes and thank you for the request??? -Of kriffing COURSE I’ll do a pt 3! -I love asks, they make my day so thank you so much!! -the beginning is inspired by something that actually happened to me today (but it’s greatly exaggerated in this. promise.)
PREVIOUS PART
WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF DEATH, ABUSE, HOSPITALIZATION.
Tumblr media
The first thing that hits your nose is a sharp scent, like toast that’s been overcooked. You frown to yourself, dropping your pencil on the dining table as Fives follows your gaze. “What’s that smell?” you inquire. He shoots up from the couch, darting into the kitchen with a low hiss. “Maker!”
You frown. That can’t be good. “Fives, did you put something in the toaster?” You don’t get an answer straight away, and maybe it’s better that way. When it’s silent for too long, you get up from your seat, ignoring the screeching of your chair against the wooden floorboards. “Fives, don’t tell me you--”
Everything you assumed you’d see would have been so much better. Burnt toast. Water boiling over the sides of a pot. Overcooked ramen that’s too soggy to swallow. The bright flames licking at your stove and overflowing to the L-shaped counters is so much worse. How did this happen?, you wonder to yourself. Just what had Fives been up to while you were studying for an exam?
He’s suddenly shouting at you to do something as he fans the fire. It grows in size and he’s screaming, but it’s hard to hear him over pounding in your head. That’s when you hear the smoke detector. That familiar beep beep beep beep sound that always went off unconventionally. You never guessed it could have been right, not until now.
The words finally fall from your mouth: “Call 911!”
“What’s the number?!” Fives cries. You speed past him, whipping out your phone and turning on the sink. The numbers displayed on the screen flash before your eyes, and as Fives dumps water over the hot flames, you calmly speak into your phone. It’s as if you’ve been trained for this, for a life-or-death situation that would most definitely break you in the long run.
You were already broke as it was, paying for bills on your own and the college debt that left you waist-deep in nothing. After your mum had been hospitalised due to her condition, you’ve been on your own, with only Fives as that little bit of domestic support. He couldn’t work, not when he didn’t have a passport, proof of his citizenship, or really of his existence as a whole.
After all, he was technically still a ‘fictional character’.
When the fire department arrive, you and Fives already have the fire out. It was a miracle that the fire hadn’t spread to the rest of your home, but still a complete loss for your poor stove and toaster.
“I’m sorry...”
You turn to Fives and cup his cheek. His eyes are downcast as you run your fingers against his smooth skin. He feels guilty, that much you can tell, but you can’t blame him. You simply don’t have the strength to when you are oh so tired. “I bet it was a malfunction in the machinery.” you quietly answer. “It’s not your fault, love.”
He meets your gaze with doe-like eyes that remind you just how young he is on the inside. “But I--”
You shut him down with a peck on the lips and link your hands in his. When the firemen are done inspecting the house for any possible flames you might’ve missed, you walk back inside and give your mum a ring. She doesn’t care much about the house. It’s all you and Fives that matters, just as any parent should think. You’re grateful she isn’t angry, and more so that she tells you insurance will cover everything just fine.
The next week go smoothly. You pass your test with flying colours, your mum’s health is as stable as ever, and the house recovers with the help of insurance. The only issue you have left is the aching pain in your chest.
Whenever you pass that stupid TV, all broken with the cracks and dark memories, it hurts. You know it shouldn’t when your father is locked away in jail, but it does, for what could have been. If your father weren’t such a jerk, then maybe you could have what you see on TV. The family where the father comes home with the mother after work, and they greet their children with smiles and hugs and kisses and ‘I love you’s that you’ll never be able to hear.
Fives isn’t blind to the pain you carry. He sees it as clear as day, yet it’s almost impossible for him to make it go away. The most he can ever do is ease it, no matter how hard he tries.
Today you’re wrapped in his arms on the couch with a Spotify playlist in the background blaring through a small speaker. It’s quiet, save for the faint melody of a song you never cared to learn the name of.
“I’m sorry,” you suddenly say. Fives perks up at the solemn tone in your voice and brings you closer to his chest. “What are you sorry for?” You glance at the broken TV, then the empty house with a long sigh. “This.” You say it as if ‘this’ explains everything. It doesn’t, and Fives knits his brows together.
“If anyone should be sorry, it’s me.” he says. “I can’t work, I don’t have an education. It’s not like I can join the military either when I’m not even supposed to exist here.” He rests his head on top of yours and your shoulders slump. “I wish I could help you more.” By ‘more’ you know he means ‘soothe the pain in your heart’. You don’t say anything though, and that’s because you’re still tired.
You lean against his chest and close your eyes. His heartbeat is your bacta today. It helps to ease your mind knowing that he’s here every step of the way. He won’t leave you. Never.
Beep! Beep!
Your eyes snap open and you sit up. Fives hands you your vibrating phone, his secure arm still around your shoulders. You tap on the screen and place the speaker to your ear. “Hello?”
“Is this (Y/f/n)?”
“Yes.”
“You were the only contact on the list, so I thought it would be fitting to call. I’m really sorry, but (M/f/n) has passed at eleven fifty-two P.M. I’m sorry for your--”
The phone slips out of your hands. You can’t bear to hear the rest because it hurts too much. After being on your own with the bills, the money, college--everything, it’s like a smack to the face, the final breaking point that sends you over the edge.
Fives doesn’t need to hear your voice to know what happened. He’s seen that face too many times to count that it’s ingrained in his mind like the very tattoo on his forehead. Your eyes well and you practically throw your arms around him. “Fives...Fives...”
“It’s okay.” he gently says. “I’m still here.” He is all you have left with your parents gone. You’ve been thrown into this wayside world, where nothing is perfect and nothing goes right, but Fives is here. He’s still here.
You don’t remember closing your eyes, or falling asleep against Fives’s chest, but when you open your eyes, all that sticks is fear. The staple screeches of blaster fire and charges blare in your ears as you rake yourself off the dark ground. You aren’t wearing your PJs, but a nice pair of Jedi robes you were sure you hadn’t ever seen in your life.
The bodies at your feet make you feel sick, and not because the lifeless corpses aren’t moving, but because you can practically feel the absence of warmth they were supposed to exude.
“GET DOWN!”
Arms are around you again, and as dirt and grass and branches of odd plants fly past by, you tumble to the ground in a heap. It’s hard to see through the dark haze the planet provided, but you know it's Fives who saved you. That much you can tell by the pressure of his grip and the shake of his breath. He hauls you somewhere off to the side, a little further away from the front lines as his brothers barrel past him.
“(Y/n).” He grips your shoulders. Hard. You stare up at his frantic eyes, bewildered, and frankly, scared. You could have died, or worse, ended up a mangled mess as you died a slow, painful death. “Where--what--we were just--?”
“I don’t know.” he says. “But I guess you’re a Jedi.” His gaze falls on the lightsaber swinging from your belt. “Can you...?” You unclip the cool metal that feels so right in your hands. It’s not too light, and not too heavy, as if it were tailored for you and only you.
The mesmerising (colour) light of your saber shines upon your face as you thumb it on. Fives sends you a reassuring nod as he throws on his bucket and whips out a blaster. “You’re a fast learner, you can do this Cyar’ika." You take one glance at the explosions to your left and nearly freeze. You’re a fast learner? You can do this cyar’ika? What kind of nonsense was Fives spewing?
Learning how to cook was different from fighting for your kriffing life.
Fives doesn’t give you much time to think as you swing around you lightsaber. You’re running on pure muscle memory now, from all the times you had to run in gym, all the times you played around with your plastic lightsaber. Who knew any of that would come in handy?
It’s a miracle you’re even able to block the incoming blaster bolts, as if you had done this for years and not five seconds.
“(Y/n)!”
Your shoulders tense. That wasn’t Fives, it was Anakin Skywalker. He blocks a few blaster bolts and motions for you to come to him. You do, slicing a droid down its middle like it were warm butter. “(Y/n),” Anakin says again, “where were you? I’ve been looking for you for the past fifteen minutes!”
“Uh...I...”
Anakin glances at the confused look on your face and you feel like you’ve just disappointed him. A frown bursts onto his face like he’s just seen the galaxy’s worst disappointment: you. “What’s wrong? Did you hit your head?” He doesn’t give you time to answer. He already knows you have no idea what’s going on, as if an invisible tie connected your thoughts to his.
But of course he knew, he was a Jedi.
Suddenly, his eyes widen. He nearly drops his lightsaber as he tackles you to the ground, panting, silently begging for time to be on his side. At first, you can’t feel anything, but as soon as your arm twitches, it’s there: a burn and sharp pain like you’ve never felt before. Anakin’s lips move, but you can’t hear a word that comes out of his mouth.
You want to cry, to gasp out in pain, but it’s too much, and you black out.
Pain. That’s the first thing you feel as you sit up with a low hiss. “Glad you’re awake Commander.” Your eyes are wide as you meet Kix’s comforting smile. Although you sense a flicker of joy, there’s a heavy weight on his shoulders you understand. He’s stressed, but not just about your condition, but his brothers’ and everyone else his heart could reach. He was a healer, just as you were supposed to be.
“You took a nasty hit there, but you’ll be good as new.” he said. “Give it a few weeks or so.” You ripped your gaze from his and took in the sights of the hazy planet. After being thrust into the mayhem, you finally realise just where in the galaxy you were. “Kix, this is Umbara, right?” you inquire. He knits his brows together and you just know he’s beyond concerned for your health.
“Yeah,” he slowly replies, “why?” You shrug, but he clearly doesn’t want to let you off the hook. Not when you’re needed on the battlefield for a campaign you know will go south. “No reason.”
“I swear if you have amnesia...” He trails off and meets your eyes, as if searching for a sign to reassure him that he wouldn’t have another thing thrown on his plate. “Commander, if I may ask, do you remember what our mission is?”
“To...capture the Umbaran base not too far from here?”
Kix frowns. He’s disturbed, as if you told a gory horror story. For a second, you wonder why, but then it hits you like a rock in the face. Anakin saved you, and the orders you relayed just now hadn’t been announced until after his departure, when Krell arrived right after. “Wait, no--I mean--Kix, I can explain. Fives and I, we’re--” You try to sit up, but he forces you to sit back against a tree trunk.
“I think you should sit down for a little.” he said. “Just...give it a minute Commander. Maybe you’re in shock.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, where’s Fives?” Your open-ness with Kix surprises you, but you blame it on how many times you’ve re-watched the Clone Wars on Disney Plus as a distraction from your piling college debt. He frowns again just like before. “Fives? I haven’t seen him since--”
“(Y/n)!”
Oh that voice. You could spot that even among his own brothers. “Fives!” you exclaim. He’s already at your side, staring at the bandage covering the wound on your shoulder. “How is it?” he inquires. You shrug. “I thought it would be worse, but it’s okay.” You’re fighting hard to keep from wincing and Fives can see it. “Kix did an outstanding job.” You nod towards the medic, who remains in his spot wide-eyed.
Kix knows something is wrong. Since when were you and Fives so close? Let alone so...touchy?
“Cyar’ika, you’re really bad at hiding that you’re in pain. I can see it.”
Kix’s jaw goes slack. Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no. He doesn’t say anything as Fives grasps your hand in his because he’s still processing everything. When had you both been in a relationship? When had this even happened? What did he have for breakfast this morning? His memory is all hazy and he knows something isn’t right.
“Fives,” he slowly begins, “when...” Kix can’t bear to finish the sentence. If anyone found out, he could be court-martialled or even wiped of his memory or executed. He couldn’t let that happen to his brother. Not after Echo. Not after all the suffering he endured.
Fives suddenly releases your hand. His expression goes blank as he meets Kix’s gaze. “Please, you can’t tell anyone.” There’s a graveness in his voice that matches the solemn tone of the planet, as if he’s expecting a lurking enemy around the bend. Kix wants to say more. He wants to lecture Fives and his Commander about how dangerous this predicament was, but he can’t.
Not when they were looking at him like that. Like their lives depended on it.
“Alright.” he finally says. “I promise.”
When Kix gives the ‘okay’ sign for (Y/n) to get up, she follows Fives out from behind the cover of the trees. Kix eyes the closeness of their hands, the way their shoulders seem to brush every now and then, and the whispers lost to the wind.
“I can’t believe this...” he mumbles to himself. He rips his gaze away from his friends and walks over to check on the wounded.
You aren’t sure what to do as you pass a few members of the 501st. Some salute you while others continue their tasks. Everything you thought you knew about this arc suddenly goes down the drain. What was going on? Did Anakin already leave? Who were you to these men? To this world?
“(Y/n)!”
Anakin jogs over to your side, placing a hand on your uninjured shoulder comfortingly. He furrows his brows as you knit your own as a subtle sign of confusion. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” he says. “Kix told me you’d be fine. He said it was just a graze.” Anakin pauses for a moment and frowns. “What’s wrong? I sense your confusion.”
Wonderful. He senses your confusion.
“I...” You glance at Fives, but he’s just as clueless as you. Anakin’s hand leaves your shoulder and wraps around a lightsaber on his belt. He hands the beautiful hilt to you, that frown still plastered on his lips. “You know, if anything is wrong, you can always tell me. I’m your master, I’m supposed to help you.”
Wait, what?
“It’s kind of my job.”
You almost have the urge to smile, but that last bit about him being your master just hits you in the wrong way. Did that mean you stole Ahsoka’s role? It’s suddenly hard to look Anakin in the eye. Even though he was trying to make you feel better, it only made you feel worse.
Anakin’s lips twitch upward into a reassuring smile and he breaks from your side. “By the way, we move out in the next fifteen minutes.”
The next hour is a complete hell of blaster fire, grenades, and death. You’ve never fought one day in your life, and a part of you wishes you hadn’t. What you know will haunt you forever are the screams of those who fight a war they never had a say in.
After a group of Y-wing bombers swoop in as assistance, Krell comes planetside. He’s taller in real life and much more intimidating than the screen could ever capture. A lingering coldness seems to sink in your bones as he waltzes out of the gunship. You glance at Anakin, but he’s already greeting Krell with a grateful look on his face you just want to slap away.
“Master Krell,” he says. “Thanks for the air support.” Krell inclines his head respectfully. “Indeed General. The locals have proven to be more resourceful than we anticipated.” Something inside you tells you to stay alert. It might have been the Force, but you can’t tell. Krell’s very presence seemed to cloud your mind and you could only assume this was the power of the Dark Side.
It was so much worse than described in the books or movies and shows. The sensation left you feeling cold and overwhelmed with fear you’ve never felt before. It seemed today, you were learning more than your puny brain could handle.
Anakin raises a brow at Krell. “But that’s not the reason for your visit.” Krell shakes his head. “No. The Council has ordered you back to Coruscant, effective immediately.” Anakin’s brows shoot upward. You can feel the surprise and blatant worry without having to see his face. “What?” he exclaims. “Wh-why?”
Krell crosses his arms across his chest. “I’m afraid a request has been made by the Supreme Chancellor and the council obliged. That is all they would tell me.” You purse your lips together and glance at Anakin, who in turn glances at you. “Well I can’t just leave my men and my padawan.”
“I’ll be taking over in the interim.” answers Krell. His tone comes out rather pushy, like he’s practically itching to take charge and put the 501st to death. The mere thought of what would happen after Anakin’s leave makes you shrink back. It’s a silent plea to your master not to go, but as everyone around here knows, orders are orders, even if they’re questionable.
Rex glances at you and then Anakin’s troubled expression. “Don’t worry about a thing, Sir.” he dutifully says. “We’ll have the city under Republic control by the time you’re back.” Anakin takes it upon himself to introduce the Captain to Krell, who in turn gives a simple ‘good to hear that’ and wishes Skywalker well.
Anakin turns to you and offers a comforting smile. For a moment, it makes the cold recede into warmth and love and light. “I know you’ll do fine.” He pats your shoulder in a silent telling to relax. “Master Krell, know that my padawan is more than capable both on and off the battlefield.”
“Of course.” You can’t tell if he’s sneering or not. His face is practically glued in a never ending scowl. “I will keep that in mind.” Anakin gives you one last nod and marches off to the gunship. You watch as it soars away, further and further until it’s hidden beneath the thick fog of the planet.
Rex makes his way over to Krell’s side. He says something, but you aren’t paying attention--well, until Krell speaks.
“I find it very interesting, Captain,” he begins, “that you are able to recognise the value of honour for a clone.” Your eyes widen. Oh the nerve.
“Stand at attention when I address you.” Krell adds. Rex’s shoulders stiffen and it takes all your willpower not to scream. You glance at the other boys silently watching the exchange with bated breath. They followed Rex’s display, keeping their shoulders back and heads tilted at a perfect ninety-degree angle. You frown to yourself as Krell looks down upon your men. “With all due respect Master Krell--”
He glances at you like you’re nothing more than the dirt beneath his feet. “No respect is due when you are interrupting me, Padawan (L/n). It would do you well to know where your place stands.” You open your mouth to say something, but Krell is already talking again. “Have all platoons ready to move out immediately.” He marches somewhere far from your sights and you really don’t care where in the galaxy he’s going as long as it’s away from you. “That is all.”
Fives sends you a look that you can’t even begin to explain. You sigh and it takes all your willpower not to say something snarky. Krell’s appearance was expected along with his terrible display of violence, but it wouldn’t have ever occurred to either of you that you’d be here to see it.
“He’s more of a jerk than I thought...” you whisper to yourself. Rex knits how brows together. He looks like he wants to chime in, but the swift flash of conflict in his heart tells him otherwise. It just wasn’t what a soldier was supposed to do. You were no soldier though, much less a Jedi Padawan at that.
Why should that matter? If you were here, on Umbara where all the wrongs could never be fixed by the rights, then you couldn’t think about not knowing what to do. Here, you were someone, not a nobody struggling through college or scraping by with whatever dollars you could spare. Here, you had people who relied on you to lead them to victory. To another day.
These men, these boys--they were bound to suffer a fate they had no say in because of the chips, because of Palpatine, because of all the corruption you saw on screen. Now, all this was more than a show. You were in it with living, breathing people. You wouldn’t let them down.
“Rex.” You turn to face him and lower your voice. Even if you’ve never spoke to him, interacted with him, or even looked him in the eyes like you do now, you speak to him like a friend, as if you’ve known him for all the years the war raged on.
“I don’t trust Master Krell.” you quietly begin. “I know you’ve heard good things about his...accomplishments, but that doesn’t mean we can follow him blindly into battle. If something’s up with his tactics, I won’t hesitate to change them. I’m not very good at that though, so I’m relying on you to help me.”
He doesn’t even hesitate to nod. “Yes, Sir. You have my word.” His trust and loyalty to you outranks the amount he’d give to Krell on every single level possible. It’s something you thought you’d never see--devotion to a single cause, a single person, in the face of battle. The only other person you had seen such loyalty in is Fives, but now, you’re beginning to understand the pattern, or rather, culture.
You heave in a deep breath and break from his intense gaze. “Thank you Rex, I really...I really appreciate it.” He seems to understand your unease and puts it upon himself to round up the platoons. “Alright boys!” he shouts. “You heard the Commander! Come on, let’s get a move on!”
Good man, that Rex.
---
Marching. That is what you’ve been doing for the past five hours, and if you remember correctly, you’ll be at it for another ten. It was a miracle you weren’t as worn as you could have been, but you guessed it was because of Fives’s energy. It kept you in step, in line with the rest of your men.
“So I say to her, baby you--”
Cue a long line of sighs and groans. “What is with you vod?” inquires Jesse. “You’re not charming Hardcase.” Kix bumps shoulders with Jesse. “Neither are you. Your cheesy jokes scare people away.” Hardcase sends Kix a funny look. “Not like you’re any better Mr. Pretty Boy, you don’t even carry lotion on you.”
Hardcase, Jesse and Fives burst into a tough fit of giggles. Kix goes silent for a moment, heaving in a sharp breath before actually laughing. You gape at him. It’s impossible to even begin imagining the stress he’s under after seeing so many of his brothers die in his arms. He’s a medic, but with that comes a responsibility greater than holding up the sky.
“You’re right about that.” Kix admits with another chuckle. “But at least I can read five textbooks in my spare time without getting bored.” Fives rolls his eyes and you almost smile. “Like that’s anything to brag about. Our Commander here can probably read ten.” You glance at Fives, who you can just tell is grinning madly under that bucket. “No I can’t.”
“Uh, yeah you can.” he sassily replies. “Throw a few reports on top of it and a due date, too. She’s amazing.” You glance at Kix, sensing his curiosity that seems to bloom as soon as your eyes meet his. Hardcase and Jesse are quick to catch on, glancing between you and Fives like it were a tennis match.
“Hmm... Something’s not right here.” Jesse comments, peering at Fives. You want to glare at your boyfriend, but how can you stay mad at him? He’s absolutely right about you and you know it.
Kix sends you both a look that clearly says, ‘are you gonna tell them?’. Now you glance at Fives, who then glances at you, which finally makes you turn to Kix and then the two curious boys. Jesse suddenly stumbles over a rock, not because he’s clumsy, but because he’s shocked.
Oh no.
“Not to be intrusive, but are you...?” Jesse tapped the air, as if connecting the dots. “No way. No way. Does anyone, you know, know?” Everyone eyes Rex, who’s only a couple meters up front. As if written in a book, Rex turns to look over his shoulder, his gaze so happening to zero on you and Fives.
“Why are you such a loud mouth Jesse?!” Fives whisper-screamed. You face-palm. “That wouldn’t have happened in the first place if we had, I don’t know, whispered?”
“How was I supposed to know? I didn’t think I was actually--”
“Quiet back there.” Rex’s steady voice orders. He slows his pace to match your own, tilting his line of view towards the group of rigid boys. “If you keep that up, you’ll find out a lot faster that not everyone is good at keeping secrets.” And with that, he nods your way, picking up the pace to settle back in his old spot.
Hardcase looks between his brothers and you. “I still don’t get it.”
You smile at him weakly. It’s all you can muster. Fives’s hand brushes yours; a silent sign of comfort. You look up at him, and even with that bucket, you know he’s smiling like you put all the stars up in the sky. All you know in that moment is if you were him, and he were you, neither of you would survive.
The galaxy is big, but the universe is wide.

Cuddle buddies
Heyho and welcome to this fanfic!
This is a MC x Choi twins story but there is no twincest involved. I just thought that the twins are for sure touch starved and definitely need more cuddles - so here we go.
This also is the first part of the series (I want to write) called "Tales from the bunker and beyond". All stories will focus on cute and fluffy daily life and domestic encounters with MC and the tomato heads.
I hope you enjoy this fanfic! Please leave a comment if you liked it - I would love to read your feedback! :D
Cuddle buddies
Tales from the buker and beyond - Part 1
Pairing: MC x Choi twins
Read here in AO3
It had always been like this. Well, not always. But most of the time, to be correct.
Waking up cuddled up cosy in between the twins was nothing new to MC. She looked at the now peacefully sleeping men beside her and thought about the start of this. A smile crept on her face, remembering some of their sleep-encounters. But how had their now preferred sleeping arrangement and everything that came with it started?
✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀
It was a quiet night in the bunker. Every member of the household (or should she call it “bunkerhold”) was fast asleep in each of their own rooms. Well, except for MC. She was tossing and turning in her bad, tormented by yet another nightmare. They had occurred more frequently over the last couple of days, but the girl did not know why. Her nightmares had always something to do with the twins. Either they were kidnapped by their father, snatched away by Rika, or trapped in the deepest chambers of Mint Eye. With a loud gasp MC opened her eyes and sat up straight in bed. Touching her face, she noticed, that her cheeks were wet. She had cried again in her sleep – nothing new. Looking for her glass of water the girl grabbed it with shaking hands. MC drank a big sip of water, inhaled and exhaled shakily. She could not fall asleep again, that was for sure. Slipping out of her bed, MC made her way to the corridor with wobbly legs. Right across from her room was Saeran’s. She needed to see that he was okay. She also needed to know that Saeyoung was okay, but she was worried to wake him up. The former secret agent was a light sleeper due to his nerve-wracking job. MC was really glad that he did no longer had to work for the agency.
Listening closely to her surroundings she could not hear anything. Yes, both twins knew how to sneak around the bunker. They could not let the habit of making no noise go so easily. MC decided to check Saeyoung. If he was here, she would definitely be a bit calmer. Right? And he would also understand that she was looking for his brother at…. How late was it? She did not know. Maybe the redhead was still awake. That would be even better.Feeling a bit securer now, the girl quietly and slowly opened Saeyoung’s door right beside Saeran’s. She was met with darkness, which meant that the man was asleep. Still, MC was relieved to find two sleeping figures on the bed. Wait. Two?She tiptoed in the room to take a closer look. Really, both twins were sleeping soundly in Saeyoung’s bed. Both wearing comfy pyjamas and being wrapped up like really cosy burritos in their blankets. MC smiled at the sight before her. The girl exhaled. Since when was she holding her breath? Now she could sleep again peacefully. But still, dread filled her when she thought about being in her room all by herself.
Trying to be as quiet as possible MC opened Saeran’s door. After everything that had happened, they both had agreed to take their relationship slow and figure some things out first. Saeran did not want to rush things and MC did not want Saeran to feel obliged to something he may was not ready for yet.
The girl scanned the room for the white-haired man, but nobody was there. Her heart began to beat fast in her chest. Where was he? Did someone take him away? Trying to calm her breath she closed the door again.
>Get yourself together, MC!<, she thought. >He is probably in the kitchen to get something to drink or he needed to use the toilet.<
Not thinking much about the decision her sleepy brain had made in that moment, she rushed as fast and quietly as possible back to her room, grabbed her blanket and then came back into Saeyoung’s room. The only space not occupied in the bed was right in between the twins. MC knew that she was probably sporting the biggest blush at the moment but did not care. Her mind and body just wanted to rest.Contented the girl snuggled deeper in her blanked. She felt save and comforted being so close to the two men. However, MC did not notice the two warms that wrapped around her body – one from the left and one from the right – and yellow eyes meeting green ones in joyful silence. She was already asleep.
When MC woke up the next morning, she was alone in bed and could smell the aroma of eggs and bacon in the air. Both twins greeted her with big smiles and warm good-morning-hugs in the kitchen.
°°°°°°
The next time it happened it was a stormy afternoon and Saeyoung had suggested to watch some movies. MC left the twins to have some brotherly bonding time while she went in the kitchen to bake some treats for the three of them. She hummed cheerly while mixing the ingredients and smiled softly whenever she heard something like:
“Look Saeran! Oh my god, he has a lightsaber!”
Followed by: “Woah! Can you build something like this, Sae?”
“Hell yes! Which colour do you want?”
MC finished baking and cleaning up the kitchen. She had been so busy that she had not noticed that the noises from the living room had grown quieter and quieter. Curious the girl took a look at the couch while putting her apron away. The scene before her was too cute.
The twins were sprawled out in front of the TV, where the credits just rolled. They had made kind of a nest with blankets and pillows. Obviously, both of them were fast asleep. Saeyoung had popcorn stuck to his chin and snored quietly, still having a can of PhD. Pepper in one hand. Saeran was curled up like a cat and… Was there a smear of chocolate on his left cheek? MC chuckled. They both were something special. She picked up the can from Saeyoung’s hand and placed it on the coffee table. The girl did not even try to get rid of the snack-escapade on both faces of the boys. She looked for a free space and snuggled into the nest as well. The twins really knew how to make a comfy sleeping space, MC had to admit before she drifted off to sleep as well.
Saeyoung was the first to wake up. Disorientated he looked around and remembered the movie…which he did not know the ending of. He shrugged and stretched. The former hacker smiled when he saw that MC had joined them again. Still, he was really thirsty and the PhD. Pepper he found on the coffee table was nearly empty. So, he made his way to the kitchen and his eyes stated to shine when he found the beautiful and delicious looking cupcakes on the kitchen counter. Grabbing another can of his favourite drink he quickly shuffled back to the living room to wake his brother up.
“Saeran”, he shook his brother’s shoulder.
“No, not that sunflower”, the other man mumbled.
“You are not in the garden, dummy. Wake up!”
Lazily Saeran opened his eyes and looked at his twin. Saeyoung could see that his brother did not like being woken up from his slumber.
“Don’t look at me like that. I’ve found something in the kitchen which you will enjoy for sure.”
The redhead winked at his twin and urged him to follow him.
Saeran’s eyes started so sparkle once he saw the sweet treat waiting for him. Both brothers took a cupcake and toasted to one another before digging in.
MC was woken up by hushed whispers. She sat up and looked at the twins before her. Both grinned at the girl.
“Good morning, sleepyhead”, Saeran said.
“Well, I only joined your cuddle session. I felt left out”, MC answered. “By the way, I made cupcakes…” She stopped to giggle. “…for you. But I guess you already found them.”
The twins looked caught.
“What gave it away?” Saeyoung asked.
“Well, secret agent 707, you both have frosting on your face.”
“Why didn’t you say anything!?” both brothers exclaimed at one another.
MC simply laughed and got up to grab herself one of the cupcakes. But she stopped to drop a peck to each twin’s cheek. Humming again and walking away she did not notice that their faces now matched their natural hair colour.
°°°°°°°
The third time was a bit different then the other two. MC was soundly asleep in her room. She had gone to sleep early after a long and tiring day. Sometimes her nose scrunched up in her sleep and she turned to lay on her side. The girl looked really cute. But was she having another nightmare? That were the thoughts of two particular people, who spied through a gap by the door into the room. The twins wanted to cuddle with MC again but did not want the girl to seek for them again after waking up distresses. They would rather have her sleeping save and sound and wake up refreshed the next day.
Looking at each other and nodding in agreement, Saeran and Saeyoung opened the door completely and made their way to MC’s bed. Each of them went to one side and silently raised the blanket to crawl under it. Once they were snuggled up you could here contented sighing in the silent room. MC mumbled something inaudible in her sleep, but a smile was shown on her lips and the nose-scrunching stopped. All three of them soon fell in a peaceful slumber, dreaming of only nice things.
MC woke up feeling really hot. The girl opened her eyes and tried to sit up but could not. Confused she look around and notices Saeyoung and Saeran next to her who had her embraced in both of their arms. Feeling happy she got more comfortable. That was when she noticed that she had slept through the night without waking up crying. The twins really were her knights in shining armour. Turing her head towards Saeran, she planted a small kiss on his forehead and then repeated the same with Saeyoung. What she did not know was, that both twins were already awake as well.
“Good morning, angel”, Saeran whispered from her right.
“Good morning, cutiepie”, Saeyoung rasped from her left.
“Well, good morning to you two”, MC greeted them and could not resist to leave a tiny kiss on each of their noses. “How come that I have such handsome company to wake up to, hm?”
The twins blushed deeply by her actions and words.
“Well, we didn’t want you to have a nightmare”, Saeyoung started.
“And we wanted cuddles”, Saeran deadpanned.
“Saeran! Don’t reveal everything!”
“Don’t care, want cuddles”, with that Saeran snuggled closer to MC wo giggled joyfully.
“Oh my, two cuddly knights”, she exclaimed. “How can I thank you for keeping my bad dreams away?”
“More cuddles?” Saeyoung asked and gave her the biggest puppy eyes.
“And your chocolate-chip pancakes”, Saeran murmured from underneath the blanket.
“Your wishes shall be granted!” MC spoke.
The girl laughed loud when the brothers fist bumped in victory.
After some more cuddles in bed and having fun while making the pancakes, all three of them were now sitting at the breakfast bar in the bunker’s kitchen and munched away happily on their pancakes. MC was happy with her life now. She had met two beautiful souls, who she would want to spend the rest of her life with them. Yes, both of them.
Like sensing her thought Saeran spoke up: “MC, if you want, I’d really like to share a room with you. At least for sleeping. I know that you like alone-time as much as Saeyoung and I do, so I really don’t want you to give up your room.” Suddenly he seemed really nervous.
“Saeran, sweety, I’d love to”, MC started but Saeran was not finished: “I’d like for Saeyoung to be there as well.”
A big smile grew on the girl’s lips and she said: “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Yahooo, I knew she’d say yes!”, Saeyoung cheered.
Oh, so the two had planned that. MC did not mind. Her smile only grew bigger when both twins pressed a kiss so each of her cheeks.
✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀✰❀
Smiling again at the memories MC closed her eyes again. Breakfast could wait, she was so comfortable right now.
“What are you smiling about, princess?”, Saeyoung asked while kissing the back of her hand. Apparently, he had been awake, too.
“Oh, just thinking about you two.”
She felt a kiss at her left temple and a kiss on her right cheek and then strong arms wrapped securely around her from both sides. MC sighed contented. Falling asleep and waking up fore sure was not so bad when she was all cuddled up in a sandwich of her two favourite boys.

I finished reading Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, and I have to say, I really, really loved it! Everyone who recommended it to me was 100% right - this book is great, and especially great in its representation of the Jedi. I think I like it even more than Shatterpoint, and I really liked Shatterpoint.
There are some weak points - it was a little slow to pull me in, and there’s a couple of Weird Legends Things™ that, with me not being particularly immersed in that continuity, don’t quite fit in with my conception of Star Wars (Dooku apparently having had a Master that was not Yoda; the infamous 13-year-old age limit (though I was at least familiar with that one), the Jedi being so far in the public eye that there exists a famous Yoda impersonator, etc), and I was a little iffy on how it handled the “Jedi shouldn’t be in the war” angle (I’m fine with there being Jedi who think that the Jedi shouldn’t be in the war. I’m less fine with an author deciding that other Jedi can’t find the words to defend their involvement, because that’s a cheap way of framing the argument), and a small moment of the “everyone falls in love” stuff I dislike.
But those were very small aspects of the book, all things considered, and pretty much everything else about this book is really, really good, and very Star Warsy - a very healthy mix of the wacky as well as the philosophical sides of the franchise, which suited my tastes really well. This book is fun - Yoda is the grumpy grandpa that he deserves to be, and spends a good portion of the book disguised as an astromech that gets into all sorts of trouble. Obi-Wan and Anakin have peak sibling energy in the handful of scenes that they show up in - Anakin at one point insisting that a woman would have to be desperate to want Obi-Wan, and only a younger sibling could possibly say something like that with a straight face to a man as attractive as Obi-Wan, as well as Obi-Wan lying to Mace Windu’s face to cover for Anakin and then immediately grumbling about it to Anakin that he doesn’t know why he does these things for him is such an older sibling thing to do.
Where this book really shines, though, is the serious stuff - the philosophy and the dark side and especially grief. What absolutely sold me on this story, and what made me sit up and go “this is going to be one of my favorite Star Wars books”, was the part where Yoda speaks to the padawans and helps them address and work through their grief. It was phenomenal, and beautiful, and absolutely everything I want out of depicting the Jedi - especially in the context that only a chapter earlier, Ventress had been hurling those standard accusations of “the Jedi don’t let you feel”, and this book wonderfully, completely demolishes that nonsense. This section is absolutely amazing:
Yoda set his bowl of gumbo regretfully aside. “Hear it working, do you?”
“Hear what?” Whie snapped.
“The dark side. Always it speaks to us, from our pain. Our grief. It connects our pain to all pain, our hurt to all hurt.”
“Maybe it has a lot to say.” Whie stared at the starscape hovering over the projector table. “It’s so easy for you. What do you care? You are unattached, aren’t you? You’ll probably never die. What was Maks Leem to you? Another pupil. After all these centuries, who could blame you if you could hardly keep track of them? Well, she was more than that to me.” He looked up challengingly. Tear tracks were shining on his face, but his eyes were still hard and angry. “She was the closest thing I had to a mother, since you took me away from my real mother. She chose me to be her Padawan and I let her down, I let her die, and I’m not going to sit here and stuff myself and get over it!” He finished with a yell, sweeping the plate of crêpes off the projection table, so the platter went sailing toward the floor.
Yoda’s eyes, heavy-lidded and half closed like a drowsing dragon’s, gleamed, and one finger twitched. Food, platter, drinks, and all hung suspended in the air. The platter settled; the crêpes returned to it; Whie’s overturned cup righted itself, and rich purple liquid trickled back into it. All settled back onto the table.
Another twitch of Yoda’s fingers, the merest flicker, and Whie’s head jerked around as if on a string, until he found himself looking into the old Jedi’s eyes. They were green, green as swamp water. He had never quite realized before how terrifying those eyes could be. One could drown in them. One could be pulled under.
“Teach me about pain, think you can?” Yoda said softly. “Think the old Master cannot care, mmm? Forgotten who I am, have you? Old am I, yes. Mm. Loved more than you, have I, Padawan. Lost more. Hated more. Killed more.” The green eyes narrowed to gleaming slits under heavy lids. Dragon eyes, old and terrible. “Think wisdom comes at no cost? The dark side, yes - it is easier for them. The pain grows too great, and they eat the darkness to flee from it. Not Yoda. Yoda loves and suffers for it, loves and suffers.”
One could have heard a feather hit the floor.
“The price of Yoda’s wisdom, high it is, very high, and the cost goes on forever. But teach me about pain, will you?”
“I...” Whie’s mouth worked. “I am sorry, Master. I was angry. But...what if they’re right?” he cried out in anguish. “What if the galaxy is dark. What if it’s like Ventress says: we are born, we suffer, we die, and that is all. What if there is no plan, what if there is no ‘goodness’? What if we suffer blindly, trying to find a reason for the suffering, but we’re just fooling ourselves, looking for hope that isn’t there? What if there is nothing but stars and the black space between them and the galaxy does not care if we live or die?”
Yoda said, “It’s true.”
The Padawans looked at him in shock.
The Master’s short legs swung forth and back, forth and back. “Perhaps,” he added. He sighed. “Many days, feel certain of a greater hope, I do. Some days, not so.” He shrugged. “What difference does it make?”
“Ventress was right?” Whie said, shocked out of his anger.
“No! Wrong she is! As wrong as she can be!” Yoda snorted. “Grief in the galaxy, is there? Oh, yes. Oceans of it. Worlds. And darkness?” Yoda pointed to the starscape on the projection table. “There you see: darkness, darkness everywhere, and a few stars. A few points of light. If no plan there is, no fate, no destiny, no providence, no Force: then what is left?” He looked at each of them in turn. “Nothing but our choices, hmm?”
“Asajj eats the darkness, and the darkness eats her back. Do that if you wish, Whie. Do that if you wish.” The old Jedi looked deep into the starscape, suns and planets and nebulae dancing, tiny points of light blazing in the darkness. “To be Jedi is to face the truth, and choose. Give off light, or darkness, Padawan.” His matted eyebrows rose high over his swamp-colored eyes, and he poked Whie with the end of his stick. Poke, poke. “Be a candle, or the night, Padawan: but choose!”
Whie cried for what seemed like a long time. Scout ate. Fidelis served. Master Yoda told stories of Maks Leem and Jai Maruk: tales of their most exciting adventures, of course, but also comical anecdotes from the days when they were only children in the Temple. They drank together, many toasts.
Scout cried. Whie ate. Fidelis served.
Yoda told stories, and ate, and cried, and laughed: and the Padawans saw that life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
I want to show this passage to every hot-take Yoda-critical fan who’s ever leveled that kind of nonsense at him. I want every one of them to read this and still try to tell me that Yoda is detached and uncaring of the galaxy around him. I want every fan who thinks the Jedi are expected to be unfeeling to read this and understand what the Jedi actually say and do and why giving into these feelings is the issue, not the feelings themselves.
The confrontation with Dooku is also amazing. Yoda challenges him to explain why the dark side is so great, and Dooku only gets more and more frustrated as Yoda is unswayed by any of what he tempts him with. I especially love this bit where Yoda lays out exactly why what the dark side promises is false:
“Want something else. Want power.”
“Power have I.”
“Want wealth.”
“Wealth I need not.”
“Want to be safe,” Dooku said in frustration. “Want to be free from fear!”
“I will never be safe,” Yoda said. He turned away from Dooku, a shapeless bundle under a battered, acid-eaten cloak. “The universe is large and cold and very dark: that is the truth. What I love, taken from me will be, late or soon: and no power is there, dark or light, that can save me.”
That then leads into a bit where Dooku has a vision of what a dark!Yoda would look like, and realizes how utterly terrifying that would be.
Dooku also has abandonment issues on full display - lashing out at the lady who had given her son up to the Jedi, getting furious at her on the son’s behalf (but so clearly, his own, speaking of his own resentment towards his parents), and throwing an absolute hissy fit because he’s convinced Yoda likes Anakin more than him. I’m not kidding, he’s so offended by Anakin’s entire existence that just his mere presence in his house is enough for Dooku to stop feeling conflicted about the whole thing and jump right back into the dark side.
And there’s just so many good little moments throughout it all on top of all that. Whie’s dreams - and oh, I knew exactly what his dream of his own death was when he described it to Scout and it hurt at the end when he hugged Anakin while saying “I’m so glad you’re not coming to kill me!”. And Ventress, calling Dooku out on the fact that it’s so obvious that Sidious will end up replacing him (also for a more humorous bit - the fact that she apparently has some petty grudge against Anakin and Obi-Wan for stealing her ships so she goes out of her way to steal their ship at the end), and the droids, and Scout’s cleverness in winning the tournament despite her disadvantages, Jai Maruk’s last stand and refusal to fall when he was at the edge, and...so much, really.
And above all else, the book really latches onto the idea of Jedi as family, and you all know how much I really, really love the idea of the Jedi as a big found family. The idea that they consider each other to be family is driven home again and again, in their words and in their actions, and I absolutely adore this book for that emphasis.

a quick and dirty fix-it for “The Rise of Skywalker”
A barebones fix-it for The Rise of Skywalker, using as much existing plot threads as possible.
(I’m not going to claim this would be a perfect movie, but it would be 1000x better than the actual film.)
TL;DR: avoid introducing new characters and work with the ones you already have. Cut out as much unnecessary plots and directions as possible and focus on a few main ideas. Give the characters actual motivations for their actions.
Oh, and let ghost!Luke troll Kylo from the afterlife.
Opening crawl catches us up on what happened during the time skip: Lando is helping raise an army for the Resistance, Leia is ill, Kylo is supreme leader, Rey is studying to be a Jedi. We open with Leia's funeral, everyone is grieving. Rey wanders off alone and has flashbacks of Leia using the unused footage from TFA. Maz approaches and asks her what she's doing. Rey angsts about the broken Skywalker lightsaber, and shows how she's created it into two blades in a quarterstaff. She also mentions how she can't reach the spirits of the Jedi, that no one will talk to her from the other side. Maz reassures her she's doing just fine, that she has everything she needs.
Meanwhile, Poe is in charge and uncertain about what to do. Finn says whatever they do it will be together and he has faith in Poe. Lando appears, agreeing that that's the right answer, and that he's brought the fleet. Poe asks Lando to lead it, and Lando agrees. They are interrupted by Rose, who has picked up a broadcast from Palpatine announcing his return to the galaxy and demanding immediate surrender to his Final Order forces. The signal is coming from Exegol, but they don't know how to fly there to attack it because it's protected by space obstacles. Rey realizes that there are mentions of a wayfinder in her book. Lando says he and Luke went looking for one on Jakku years ago, and Rey freezes in her tracks.
Kylo's meeting with Hux and the other FO moffs also gets interrupted by this same meeting. Hux snarks at Kylo's uncertainty and gets attacked for his troubles. Kylo says he's going to meet this Emperor personally, and when Hux asks how, since Exegol is protected, kylo says he has his ways. He stalks off to Mustafar to get Vader's wayfinder, only to be trolled by Luke's ghost continually, to his intense annoyance.
Kylo flies to Exegol, confronts Palpatine, and they agree to an alliance/combine forces. Hux and the moffs are super skeptical/nervous, but comply grudgingly. Kylo sends the knights of Ren after Rey on Jakku when Palps says she’ll go back there to confront her heritage (he tells Kylo what it is but we cut before we hear the details).
On Jakku, Rey (accompanied by Finn, Poe, Chewie and the droids) land, encounter the festival, go looking for the coordinates. Rey talks to a child, admits she doesn't have a family name, the FO chases them, and they flee into the desert "just like old times". They are trapped by a sandworm that Rey injures and then heals. They find the remains of the ship Rey remembers from her visions and she has flashbacks about her parents and her past and her connection to Palpatine. She realizes the second wayfinder is on the death star ruins at Endor, but the knights of Ren attack before they can leave. Rey defeats them easily, but is shaken at her anger and rage and violence she is capable of in the process, despite Finn's re-assurances that Rey doesn't have to be/isn't her heritage.
Kylo is upset that his knights failed and vows to do better, mocking them in the process. They track Rey to Endor, and Kylo says he'll deal with this personally. Meanwhile, the gang encounters Jannah and her crew of ex-stormtroopers. Finn and Jannah bond, a single-minded Rey runs away to investigate the ruins after a tearful good-bye to Finn. Rey explores the ruins, finds the wayfinder, has a vision of herself as Empress Palpatine, only to be interrupted by Kylo. They argue/fight, she stabs him, and then heals him, saying she's not a murderer like him, that Finn is right and she can choose to be different. She takes Kylo's TIE and flies off with her wayfinder while Kylo gasps on the floor.
Luke's ghost shows up and Kylo agonizes about returning to the light. Luke forgives him, and eventually Kylo tosses his saber into the sea. Luke says he's proud of Kylo and says there's something he wants to show him on Ahch-To. Finn and Jannah and Poe come looking for Rey and discover Kylo. Poe is skeptical, but Finn believes Kylo has changed, and Jannah gives him a ship so he can go on his own.
Rey sends the signals to the Resistance fleet, which Rose picks up, as the Final Order prepares to attack the galaxy. Kylo flies to Ahch-To and Luke's ghost leads him to Leia's hidden saber, and Kylo realizes how much his mother gave up to protect him. Kylo flies to Exegol using the crumpled Death Star wayfinder that he repairs, and goes after Rey.
Rey confronts Palpatine on Exegol, only to agree to Palpatine's plan for galactic dominion to save her friends. Ben is confronted by the Knights of Ren, who taunt him and reveal that they were under Palpatine's sway the entire time, and the whole First Order was a front that Palpatine used to control and manipulate Kylo this entire time. Kylo defeats them and rushes to help Rey, interrupting her before she can give into Palpatine. The two of them fight, but Palpatine defeats them both, and it seems hopeless. Meanwhile, the Resistance fighters, now including Jannah and Finn and Rose, confront the fleet over Exegol and the battle rages.
Rose broadcasts Finn's speech to the stormtroopers, asking them to lay down their weapons just like Jannah's team did because it's the right thing to do and they do, to Hux's dismay and chagrin. Hux, sensing the tide is turning and hating Kylo Ren, surrenders.
Rey makes contact with the spirits of the Jedi in a vision and wakes up. She defeats Palpatine, but dies in the process. Ben wakes up, sees Luke, realizes he has to choose between his own life and hers. He choses Rey, heals her, but dies before she can wake up. A grieving Rey is comforted by Luke, who tells her he's proud of her.
Rey walks out under her own power and rejoins the others in her ship (exclaiming don't shoot since she's still in Kylo's TIE), and leads the triumphant forces back out of Exegol.
Cut to celebrations on the Resistance jungle base. Toasts for those they lost, and for the rise of the New Republic and defeat of the First Order. Poe's going into politics with Lando's guidance. Finn looks around for Rey, doesn't see her. Rey sits alone, until Luke's ghost comes to see her, followed by Leia. Glimpse of Ben in the distance, walking with Han. Finn comes up and asks what she's looking at. Rey asks him if he can see it, and he says, "I see it." They hug, and go back to the celebrations, where Maz winks at them. "you've come a long way from that scavenger I first met." Rey smiles and touches her lightsaber, holding Finn's hand, surrounded by her friends. "Yes, I know."

Feral!Kenobi plunnie
I’ve a ridiculous partial plunnie, and no idea what to do with it.
So here it is for the internets, hopefully someone wants to play with it because beyond pretty visuals and some silliness I got nothing. Also, much mock grumpy gesticulating must be made towards @dharmaavocado  because I’m sure I was inspired by her talk of Amnesia AUs (and her recent Leverage AU snippet was inadvertently what kicked things off, so thbbbbbt). Also thanks to @dogmatix because she helped plot SHENANIGANS.
*****
SO! AU time! It’s been like, at least 2 years of this damned war, and Rex is now in a stage of P I N I N G for a certain General Kenobi. He’s professional enough to not ever say a thing, and Kenobi seems ignorant. That’s good enough, right?
Then Kenobi faffs off somewhere, as he is wont to do, and disappears for about a week. The 212th has been left to handle themselves like the ADULTS THEY ARE, while Skywalker, Ahsoka, and Rex sail off to rescue someone’s moronic ass. They follow his trail (no I have no idea what that’s a trail of, which is yet another reason I’m not writing this for reals) to some obscure planet and a weird Sithy type temple thing that looks ominous and feels even creepier in the Force. There’s not much to this temple thing, and the main chamber’s roof has caved in.
That looks recent. As a matter of fact, a bunch of the rocks have been cleared away, like someone was underneath them at the time they came down. There’s a decent amount of blood, too –
Along with the crushed remains of a familiar lightsaber. Also something the Jedi can tentatively identify as some kind of Sith artifact, though according to Ahsoka (she geeked out about some old relics in the Archives for a project several years ago), no one knows what they might have done.
Fuck. So good news, Obi-Wan is probably alive – the rocks look like they were moved from underneath, not from the outside. Bad news, his lightsaber is toast and there was a mysterious Sith artifact involved. There’s no hint of which was cause and which effect: a lightsaber can be rigged to cause an explosion; the roof could’ve trashed it and the artifact when it came down; the artifact could’ve caused who knows what kind of damage.
They spread out to search the area a bit more closely. Rex is prepared for trouble, but something still gets the drop on him. One minute he’s prowling around checking the bushes, the next something is tackling him. If he weren’t a well-trained soldier and a clone genetically tweaked to keep up with Jedi, he’d be dead. As it is, there’s a scruffy cloaked figure trying to kill him with a set of fancy ritual knives that had to have come from the temple. They tussle for a bit, Rex JUST managing to keep them at bay while getting in a few good hits. The Jedi finally charge in to the rescue, Force shoving the figure into a wall.
The hood of his cloak finally falls, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is looking at them like he has no idea who they are.
*****
There’s possibly a bit more fighting before the trio’s certainty that it’s someone they know and care about sinks in enough to convince Kenobi to back down and listen. See, he has no idea who he is, or who they are, or a lot of things, really. His memories overall are just gone – no hints, no remnants, no suspicious feelings. His skills are all there, including the Force, though he doesn’t always know he’s using things. He just does stuff. General knowledge is fuzzy – he knows about the Republic, but while for instance he knows there’s a chancellor fuckall if he knows who it is.
The other three are Very Concerned, and take him back to the Twilight, then/or the Resolute. Anakin has investigating to do, Ahsoka can research from the ship, and Rex is trying to grapple with the knowledge that after the fact, in retrospect, Feral!Kenobi almost killing him was disturbingly HOT (oh help what do?). Jedi don’t fight like that, this is not normal, and Rex is very, very confused.
*****
“Feral” is accurate. Kenobi doesn’t seem to give many shits about societal niceties (he can observe them, he just doesn’t have much reason to care), and he keeps his shiny knives and just prowls around the place. He’s sparred with a number of the ARCs on board, and kicked ass in ways that The General would not do – also hot, though the general consensus is that the contrast between this new Kenobi and the old one is just too jarring and weird to overcome chain of command and propriety. He doesn’t have the serenity or the tendency of the General to sink into the background: it’s not that he’s arrogant, it’s just that this is a man who has no memories of why he might be uncertain about himself or his place in the world.
*****
This weird little dance goes on for at least another week. It’s late evening, and Rex is almost at his cabin, almost able to faceplant in his bunk and contemplate how these new circumstances are beyond weird and just fucked up. Then Kenobi stalks up to Rex in the empty corridor, and from the way he rakes a look over the Captain, he can tell the aggressive thing is a turn on. He doesn’t waste any time before speaking. “I’ve been feeling you pining halfway across the ship, and it is a very large ship. Did we used to fuck?”
The floor doesn’t open and swallow Rex whole, unfortunately. He tries to stammer out a few things, which is interesting because he has no idea what he might possibly say. Kenobi steps closer, and Rex backs right up to his door. “That’s a no, then. Might be fun to.” He plants a hand on Rex’s breastplate, pushing enough for the pressure to be felt but not enough to actually trap him. “Interested?”
“General–!”
“No.” It’s like all the intensity just cuts off, for all that Kenobi doesn’t pull back, doesn’t move an inch. “Not anymore. I don’t remember being him, for all we know I won’t ever remember being him. I’ll use the name, but not the title. That’s not who I am now.”
“But you might be.” The notion’s plagued him a bit, helped keep a bit of reserve in the face of this man stalking through the halls, utterly certain of himself. “Isn’t that how it goes in the holos? Second crack on the head, forget everything between that and the first one?”
“That’s not how head injuries work,” Kenobi says, dry as he used to be, even as his posture and attitude are still sex on wheels. “There’s no decent explanation for this, several possible causes, and that’s a problem for the other me if he ever comes back. Would it make life difficult for you, if we fucked?”
Little gods, he wishes Kenobi would stop saying it like that, and the bastard can probably tell, and it doesn’t help that the aggressive thing and the attitude are intriguing. “Probably,” he admits with more honesty than he really intends.
Like that Kenobi is several paces back, hands to himself though the posture is still predatory. “Then it’s all your call, Captain. If you’re interested, I’m sure you can find me if you come looking.” He turns, takes two steps, then pauses and glances back. That is sultry in the way the rest was all matter of fact, direct. “Hm. We might have to try that.”
Try what? Rex’s brain manages to ask, before ‘come looking’ sinks in and he just goes red. Fucking asshole of not-really-a-general has already disappeared by then, of course.
*****
So that all builds to some aggressive smutty fun times, because Feral!Kenobi loves pushing (and making Rex blush) and once he’s over the initial reactions Rex enjoys pushing back. For reasons unknown I don’t think Obi-Wan ever gets his memories back, but he’s FAR less likely to fall for persuasive bullshit and political idiocy than in canon.
No idea where or how that goes, though. Just pretty mental images of Feral!Kenobi who thinks fighting is right next door to fucking in terms of a good time, and Rex who is flailing along realizing this hits a LOT of kinks he did not know he had.

J/H 7-20: Gimme Shelter
I've said all along that this rewrite is only concerned with the Jackie/Hyde material, especially for everything post-Season 5. That's going to be relaxed from here on out; with Season 7 serving as the series finale in this timeline, there are more adjustments to be made, and they start here with changes to how Eric arrives at his teaching career. But there's Zen here too, as the mess that was Jackie's graduation party gets replaced with something else...
(We assume that 7x18 and 7x19 play out as we know them from the show in this timeline.)

SHOW TITLE   MUSIC NOTE: “Oh Well” by the Rockets.   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT - NIGHT   The gang hanging out. HYDE and FEZ rummage through the deep freeze, JACKIE writes in a notebook in Hyde’s chair, ERIC and DONNA share the couch, and KELSO sits in the lawn chair.   Jackie finishes off her writing with a firm dotting of a period and sets her pencil and paper down.   JACKIE: And – done! That’s my last high school assignment. I’m all set for graduation this Friday.   ERIC: I can’t believe I graduated a year ago. It’s like, I feel like I’ve done nothing. Man, time really flies when you take two naps a day.   DONNA: Well, I wouldn’t say you’ve done nothing. I mean, you’ve... wow, you’ve really sat on your ass.   Hyde and Fez emerge from the deep freeze, popsicles in hand.   HYDE: Yup, Forman, we’ve all passed you by. I’m running a record store, Donna’s a DJ, Kelso’s a cop – even Fez has a job now. (to Fez) What is it again, man? Uh, shower girl? Make-up lady?   FEZ: Shampoo boy!   HYDE: (beat) Eh, I was close.   He crosses to his chair and pats Jackie on the back. She stands up, lets him sit in the chair, and sits in his lap.   ERIC: Wait a second – does this mean I’m the loser of the group now?   KELSO: You are the one that’s still living with your mommy.   ERIC: Man, you’re still living with your mommy.   KELSO: Not for long. Me and Fez are looking for apartments. Then the only time I’ll see my mom is when she’s doing my laundry, cooking my meals, taking me to the dentist...   He trails off there.   JACKIE: Oh, Eric, I feel kinda bad. I mean, you wouldn’t even be thinking about this kind of stuff if you weren’t caught in the blinding light of my bright future.   FEZ: You know, the scary thing is, if one year went by this fast, imagine where Eric is gonna be in ten years...   He looks up, the camera tracks in, and we transition to:   EXT. FORMAN DRIVEWAY – DAY   FANTASY SEQUENCE.   TITLE CARD 1: Eric’s crappy future.   TITLE CARD 2: Ten years later.   The Vista Cruiser comes into park. A grinning Eric steps out in full Mr. Spock costume, complete with ears. A thoroughly done Donna, in Uhura costume and wig, steps out from the passenger’s side.   ERIC: Thanks for going with me to the Star Trek convention – Uhura.   DONNA: You can call me Donna now.   Without another word, she walks down the street.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT – NIGHT   Back to reality. Fez giggles at his scenario, as does everyone but Eric.   KELSO: That’s good, Fez. But I think it’s gonna be more like this...   He looks up, the camera tracks in, and we transition to:   EXT. FORMAN DRIVEWAY – DAY   FANTASY SEQUENCE. The Vista Cruiser comes into park. A grinning Eric steps out in full Luke Skywalker costume, complete with lightsaber. A thoroughly done Donna, in Leia costume and hair, steps out from the passenger’s side.   ERIC: Thanks for going with me to the Star Wars convention – Leia.   DONNA: You can call me Donna now.   Without another word, she walks down the street.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT - NIGHT   Back to reality. Kelso grins at his scenario, as does everyone but Eric.   HYDE: Nah, man. You’re both wrong. Actually, it’s gonna go like this...   He and Jackie look up, the camera tracks in, and we transition to:   EXT. FORMAN DRIVEWAY – DAY   FANTASY SEQUENCE. The Vista Cruiser comes into park. A grinning Eric steps out in full Luke Skywalker costume, complete with lightsaber. A thoroughly done KITTY, in Leia costume and hair, steps out from the passenger’s side.   ERIC: Thanks for going with me to the Star Wars convention – Leia.   KITTY: You can call me Mom now.   Without another word, she heads back into the house.   CUT TO:   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT - NIGHT   Back to reality. Hyde and Jackie nod along to the scenario, as does everyone but Eric, who scrambles over the back of the couch.   ERIC: Whoa!   DONNA: Eric, they’re joking around. It’s funny.   ERIC: No, Donna, it’s not funny! In fact – it’s completely  possible!   He turns and races up the stairs.
MAIN CREDITS   ***   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT - DAY   The next day. The guys play cards while Donna reads in the lawn chair. Hyde, Eric, and Fez share the couch while Kelso sits backwards in Hyde’s chair.   KELSO: (to Eric) So, gonna be a chiropractor, huh? All right, every chick patient that you have, you have to tell her the problem is her tailbone. That way, you get to grab around on her butt.   ERIC: Kelso, I’m doing this ‘cause I wanna help people. A handful of ass is just a perk.   The basement door opens and Jackie enters, box in hand.   JACKIE: Hello, everyone. It is I, the light of all your lives and the newest arrival to the glorious world of adulthood. (sets box on coffee table) Michael, I remember how much you like playing with my equestrian figurine collection, so since I’m a mature woman now, these are for you.   Fez reaches inside the box and lifts up a plastic toy horse. The guys all glare at Kelso, who shifts in his chair.   JACKIE (cont’d): God, I cannot wait to graduate tomorrow. Classes are done and I finally know everything. Now it’s nothing but dinner parties, LoPP fundraisers, summers in Morocco, holidays in Paris...   DONNA: Um, what about earning a degree, paying the bills, finding a place to live – you know, the responsibilities of being an adult?   JACKIE: Okay, Donna, you’re forgetting one very important difference between most people and me – I grew up rich. I get things.   Donna rolls her eyes as Jackie crosses to sit on the back of the couch behind Hyde.   Kitty enters from the staircase, a newspaper in hand.   KITTY: Michael, I circled some apartment listings for you and Fez. (to the gang) I found a great apartment for Janet Myers after her divorce. It has a murphy bed for when her kids come to visit. They never do. She’s in AA.   She exits up the stairs.   Kelso reviews the circled listings.   KELSO: Look at all these places for rent. I hope we can find one that’s got everything my baby needs.   FEZ: Oh, Kelso, you’re always putting me first.   KELSO: Not you, moron! Betsy, my daughter. It’s amazing how one tiny person has changed my life so much.   FEZ: You changed mine, too.   Kelso’s out of insults; he just gives Fez a long stare.   ***   INT. FORMAN KITCHEN – DAY   The next morning – the day of Jackie’s graduation, before school. She and Hyde eat breakfast on the island as RED, Kitty, Fez, and Kelso do the same at the table. Breakfast is eggs for everyone, with plates of toast and sausages in the middle. With one sausage left, Red and Fez both reach for it with their forks. Fez takes it.   FEZ: Too slow, old man.   KELSO: Fez, if you’re not polite, he’s gonna figure out you’re living here.   Red drops his fork and glares at Fez.   RED: You’re living here?   KELSO: Oh, great. You blew it, Fez!   KITTY: Red, he has nowhere else to go.   Red stands.   RED: (to Fez) Well, know this, Pele: you gotta sleep some time. And during the war, when they were sleeping – that’s when I got ‘em.   He exits out the patio door.   KITTY: (to Fez) Well, that wasn’t too bad. He called you “Pele.” He is a terrific soccer player.   She takes her plate, stands, and crosses to the sink.   Fez and Kelso lean in toward each other.   FEZ: What do we do now?   KELSO: I don’t know, man. That apartment was the only one we’ve found that’ll work for you, me, and Betsy.   FEZ: We could try that room above the barber shop.   KELSO: No, we can’t.   FEZ: Why not?   KELSO: Because there’s no way Mr. Lucania’s gonna let out a room to the guy he found hiding in his daughter’s closet. Or the guy he found in her bed. With her. Five times, senior year.   Jackie, who has been watching and listening with Hyde throughout the scene, sits up straight.   JACKIE: Wow. You guys are really struggling with all those adult responsibilities Donna was talking about. And Michael, you’re good-looking, but it doesn’t seem like it’s helping you at all.   KELSO: Yeah. I’m afraid you’re gonna find as you get out into the real world that there are some things a bitchin’ bod just won’t fix.   JACKIE: (gasps) Oh, God!   She clasps a hand over her mouth. Kelso nods gravely and turns back to his conversation with Fez.   ***   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT – DAY   Still morning, still before school. THE BRADY BUNCH plays on the TV. Hyde sits in his chair with Jackie in his lap while Donna remains on the couch, her neck still crooked. Eric retrieves a popsicle from the deep freeze and moves to join her on the couch.   ERIC: (to Donna) How’re you doing, my little buttercup?   DONNA: Great. The Brady Bunch is so much funnier sideways.   JACKIE: Oh, God, Eric, you ruined her. Donna can’t even stand up straight now. And that’s real important for a lumberjack.   ERIC: Hey, it’s not that bad. I’m sure chiropractor Forman can tend to my crooked little flower here.   DONNA: You know, Eric, calling me cute little nicknames doesn’t make up for what you did.   ERIC: Hey, whatever you say, my little crazy straw.   JACKIE: Wow, this disaster just came out of nowhere, didn’t it? I mean, one minute Donna’s fine, the next some scrawny would-be quack’s turned her into a human pretzel. And Eric – Eric thought he found a career he’d be good at, which he obviously isn’t. (to Hyde) What if my TV show goes the same way? What if I’m no good? Or what if something awful happens to me out of nowhere, like a car crash or a gray hair? Donna was right – there is a downside to being an adult. Why was I in such a rush to grow up? I’m so short, I could’ve kept passing for a kid for years if I hadn’t talked such a big game about becoming an adult!   HYDE: Look, Jackie -   JACKIE: No, Steven! The graduation ceremony is in three hours, and I’ve just realized I’m not ready at all! I can’t do this!   She lets out a scream and dashes into Hyde’s room.   HYDE: (to Eric) Red still got that crowbar in the garage? ‘Cause that’s the only way we’re getting her out of there.   Eric gives a sarcastic shrug as Donna rolls her eyes.   ***   INT. FORMAN BASEMENT - NIGHT   That evening. Eric sits on the back of the couch on one end, Fez sits in the seat on the other, and Kelso sits in the lawn chair.   KELSO: Well, Red convinced Fenton to give us the apartment!   He and Fez share a low five.   FEZ: Yeah, and Red seemed so happy. All the way home, he just kept looking at us and laughing.   KELSO: Yeah, I’m pretty sure Red told Fenton that we knew a lot of chicks, ‘cause Fenton kept checking me out, like he could tell that I knew a lot of chicks.   The door opens, and BOB leads Donna inside. Her neck is still crooked.   BOB:  Eric, I can’t believe that you crippled my angel, my pride and joy. It kills me, seeing her like this.   ERIC: Then why are you bringing her over here?   BOB: Oh, I got a date. I met a lady at the open house. She’s got crow’s feet, but she works in the sandwich shop, so I bent the rules.   He exits. Donna crosses to sit by Eric on the couch.   ERIC: Look, Donna, I’m so sorry about what happened. You know, I’ve been thinking about it, and I don’t think I ever really wanted to be a chiropractor. I was just, you know, grasping at straws.   DONNA: I’d nod in agreement, but... you know, I’m paralyzed.   KELSO: Eric, you know what I’m realizing about you? You’re not good at anything.   FEZ: That’s not true, Kelso. Don’t forget butt-wiping.   ERIC: Oh, you know, just once, it’d be nice if, after you get all your burns in, you guys actually tried to help. I mean, that’s what I do. I mean, I’m the one who was looking out for Hyde when his mom split. And Kelso, I was your math tutor in high school. And Fez, remember when you wanted to learn how to kiss, and I taught you by sticking M&Ms to the mirror?   Donna and Kelso’s jaws drop. They look to Fez, who shifts in his seat.   FEZ: That never happened. I know how to kiss. Ah, shut it, Eric!   DONNA: (to Eric) You know, the only reason you ended up stuck like this was because your one chance to go away to college, you gave up to take care of your family after your dad got sick. You really do try to help.   ERIC: And I love doing it. I wish that could be a career.   DONNA: Right. You just need a career that combines a desire to help people with a high tolerance for irrational and childish behavior.   ERIC:  Or... just children. Just kids. Like at a school. Like a schoolteacher. Guys, I think I could make a good teacher!   Before he can elaborate any further, the basement door flies open. Hyde enters, carrying Jackie in his arms. She has on a graduation cap and gown, carries her diploma in her hand, and wears a massive, spacey grin.   JACKIE: Hello, adulthood! I’m Jackie Burkhart, and I’m ready for ya!   DONNA: Hey, looks like someone got over her little panic episode.   HYDE: Well, after you left, I went to talk to her and told her everything was gonna be fine and she was ready for graduation. But that didn’t work, so I broke out my best stuff. She’s been flying ever since.   Jackie sweeps out her hand holding her diploma, pops one foot out, and kisses Hyde on the cheek.   HYDE (cont’d): You should’ve seen her give the valedictorian address.   DONNA: Jackie, you’re not your class valedictorian.   HYDE: That’s why you should’ve seen it.   ERIC: That’s great, Jackie. You know what? This has just been a great day all around. Jackie graduated, Kelso and Fez found an apartment, and I’ve decided I’m gonna be a teacher. That’s right, you are looking at a future Mr. Forman.   JACKIE: Mr. Forman? Oh, well –   She swings herself down from Hyde’s arms and stumbles over to Eric. She steadies herself by slapping a hand down on his shoulder.   JACKIE (cont’d): Since I’ve already graduated, I can tell you now – my last essay? Yeah, everything in it, I stole from Donna doing the same assignment last year.   As well as she can, Donna turns to give Jackie an incredulous look.   JACKIE (cont’d): Hey, I’ve got my diploma, I’ve got a TV show, I am woman, and I’m ready for more!   Eric, grinning, shakes his head. Donna, Fez, and Kelso chuckle. Hyde also shakes his head and walks over to lead Jackie to his chair.   FADE TO BLACK

More Flynn/Alan/Roy/Lora, but also Flynn/Clu this time — still not proofread lol
There’s really way too much to do for a birthday, Flynn decides. He’s been running around non-stop, back and forth, for over a week now— not that the programs don’t appreciate his extra appearances, but Alan and Clu are both starting to get suspicious. How surprisingly similar those two are; Flynn remembers when he’d first created Clu, his eager-to-please smile. Even then, it was nowhere near the manic levels of passion Flynn’s own held. Still, that was Clu. Always logical, always precise. Flynn appreciates that, more than he thinks his program knows.
Tron is the only one privy to his plans, because Flynn knows Tron can keep a secret. The security program doesn’t necessarily approve,  but an offhanded mention of Alan’s username is enough to sway him. Everyone can tell Flynn is frazzled, though. Alan, Lora, and Roy have all been asking him if he’s okay, and he’s starting to wonder if Alan suspects him of cheating. Or something. Flynn’s pointedly not letting it bother him, because hey, birthday plans. He needs to ask Alan for Tron’s compile date after this— Flynn’s never exactly been good with dates; the first couple of years they’d been together, he’d relied on the others to remember birthdays and their anniversary.
Finally, everything’s in order. Tron is keeping Clu occupied while Flynn gets everyone ready in the User world. There’s a lot of grumbling about sneaking over to the arcade at one in the morning, but what Flynn lacks in his ability to remember dates he makes up for in impossible-to-deny puppy eyes. His enthusiasm grows the closer they get to the arcade; he’d been waiting for a chance to show off the Grid to these three, and this had given him the perfect excuse. Though, Lora does whack him in the back of the head for stealing one of her old lasers without asking. Flynn gives them explicit instructions to stay in the other arcade until he gets there— they go one at a time. Roy first, Lora, then Alan, and finally Flynn. He hands them each a baton, stashed in his desk in preparation. Roy begins to make lightsaber noises; Flynn’s pretty sure he’s never been more in love.
Outside, after a quick and dirty explanation of batons and lightcycles, they take off. Lora catches on quickest, and to his surprise Alan’s a close second. Roy swerves and skids more than any of them, but he’s the most excited to try again. As they sneak up to the top floor of the tower, Alan demands to know where they are. Flynn gives him a rushed response of “the computer world, man; I’ll explain later,” which earns him an eye roll and exasperated sigh. He instructs them all to hide once they’ve reached his penthouse— he thinks he hears Roy whisper “compile party” to Lora, but he doesn’t have much time to worry about it. Tron shows up with Clu only a picocycle later, punctual as ever. He shoots a disapproving look in the direction he thinks Flynn may be hiding before activating the lights like he was told.
Flynn jumps out and shouts “surprise!” along with the others, though Alan is quickly distracted by Tron, and Tron by him. They gravitate towards each other, examining, both so analytical. Alan’s hair has begun to gray at the temples, which he’s fondly blamed Flynn for, and his glasses, of course. Tron is so young, still. A carbon copy of Alan from the early eighties. Those two are quickly engrossed in conversation, abandoning Flynn and the others to a quizzical-looking Clu. He demands to know if this is some sort of joke or strange User custom he’s unaware of, and why Flynn possibly brought three new Users. Flynn introduces Clu to Lora and Roy, explains that this is called a birthday party (and what a birthday is: “You were compiled today, Clu, a year ago”), before Lora gently shoulders Flynn out of the way.
“Clu, you run all this?” she asks, gesturing at Tron City through the window.
“Yes, technically, though only when Flynn isn’t around. The Creator does the most important work-“ Clu starts, only to be cut off by a knowing smile and a conspiratorial, ‘we both know Flynn doesn’t do a thing’ wink. Flynn knows, right then, that Clu and Lora are going to get along like a house on fire.
Roy steps up next, shakes Clu’s hand and tells him happy birthday, before asking if Clu’s any good on a lightcycle. Clu nods, somewhat skeptical, but it’s hard not to relax when you’re fixed with one of Roy’s beaming smiles.
“Great! You’ll have to teach me how to ride.” Roy declares. Clu seems taken aback by the prospect of him teaching a User anything— Roy jabs his thumb at Flynn.
“I trust Kevin about as far as I can pick him up and throw him; it’d be really great to learn from you, Clu.”
Poor Clu doesn’t seem to know how to handle a User deferring to him, treating him as one hundred percent equal, but he doesn’t get much time to ponder things before Flynn is slinging an arm around his shoulder. He’d called for energy to be sent up, and after singing happy birthday the four Users and, hesitantly, Tron toast Clu. To new adventures, from Flynn. Good health, from Alan and Tron. Happy years from Lora, and good friends from Roy. As the party comes to a natural close, Flynn pulls his fellow Users aside, explaining that he’s going to spend the night on the Grid.
“Poor Clu hasn’t gotten my full attention in ages, he deserves at least that on his birthday.” he explains, and the others agree. He gets a knowing smile from Roy, too, which means he’ll definitely be returning to an apartmentful of partners ready to tease him. Tron agrees to escort the others to the portal— Roy waggles his eyebrows at Flynn on the way out, and Flynn responds with a wink. Roy’s “hey!” is promptly cut off by Flynn closing the door.
Later, in bed with Clu in his arms, Flynn asks what he thought of the others. He’s not surprised to hear Clu likes Lora the most, nor is he surprised Clu hadn’t gotten to spend enough time with Alan to formulate an opinion. Clu insists he trusts Alan, though, by nature of who’s User he is. Flynn smiles a little, brushing his fingers through his program’s slick hair.
“That’s great, man, that’s really cool. I was thinking about bringing them on to help around here, you know? I know you’ve been pretty stressed lately, and I’m all over the place. Having a couple extra Users with better organizational skills probably wouldn’t be a bad idea.” Flynn chuckles. “How’d you feel about working with them?”
“They wouldn’t render my functions redundant?” Clu asks, frowning. Clu seemed to be doing a lot of that these days. Flynn shakes his head, kissing Clu’s brow.
“Nah, they’d answer to you, actually. Or you guys’d be on equal footing, but you get the idea. Nobody’s getting rid of you. Who else knows this place better than even I do?”
“No one, just me.” Clu concedes, giving Flynn that same slight, hopeful smile he’d given the day he was compiled. Flynn smiles back, warm and bright, happily listening as Clu tells him how much he’d like working with Lora, how he thinks it will be enjoyable to teach Roy how to ride a lightcycle, and about all sorts of plans for the future.
For the first time in a while, all is right in the Grid.
In the User world, snuggled up between two of his partners, Roy drops the bomb only he had noticed:
“I think Flynn has a new digital boyfriend.”
Lora lets out a sharp, startled laugh— Alan sputters, fumbling for his glasses.
“Roy, you have got to be kidding.”
“Nope.” comes the self-satisfied reply. Lora whacks him in the face with a pillow, and all is right in the User world too.

In the scene at the end of the Big Fight in RoTS, I noticed that Anakin doesn’t yell “I hate you!” at Obi-Wan until the latter makes it clear that he’s taking Anakin’s lightsaber and walking away, that he’s not going to give him the -in Vader’s mind anyway, according to the 2017 comics- mercy of a quick death and just leave him there to die slowly. Imo prior to that he looked beaten, aside from the obvious has no limbs now i mean, it was like he was (1/2)
cowed finally, his facial expression seemed almost pleading? Whether it was pleading w the pain or Obi-Wan i wouldn’t be sure, but it seemed a bit off for a second, like the hate got replaced for a hot minute, and we all know how great Hayden is at micro-expressions, so I’d consider it significant in some way or another I’d think. How, if any, much do you think that sequence of events influenced the desire to scream “I hate you” at Obi-Wan as the last thing he thought he’d ever say to him? (2/2)
(3/2 sorry) cause I cant imagine Anakin seeing ObiWan walking off w HIS lightsaber and leaving him as anything other than Betrayal-with-a-capital-B. I can however see him viewing ObiWan chopping his limbs off as fair game though, he knows was trying to kill him and all. And yeah he did think he betrayed him in the first place at the start of the fight ofc, but that second helping, i mean, how does it not count and how much for? you feel me? ok i’m done, i swear lol
I feel you:P we know that scene originally very different, Anakin was supposed to beg forObi-wan to save him only to be refused. Later, it was changed to the scene weknow but the emotions is still there. There’s a lot more than pain and hatredcoming from Anakin as they stood there.
After Anakin implores Obi-wan to save him, George asks Ewan to say “Iwill not…” softer, almost to himself. Take. “After he burst into flames,” Lucasdirects, “it’s as if you’re talking to a dead person. To a piece of toast”. Hesuggests, to drive home this point, that McGregor change the words in thescript to the past tense, “I loved you.” The actor acquiesces, but points outthat his subsequent line would have to change to “But I could not help you.”Lucas agrees, and Tenggren alters the script accordingly. Christensen groans toget into characters, and then gives an emotional delivery of the two lines, “Help me, Master,” and “I hate you!” [The Making of Star Wars:Revenge of the Sith]
That duelwas the result of over 10 years of pent up emotions. It was about more than theAnakin betraying the Jedi, going dark side or killing everyone. As Stover sobeautifully put:
“This wasnot light against dark or good against evil; it had nothing to do with duty orphilosophy, religion or morals. It was Anakinagainst Obi-Wan. Personally. Just the two of them, and the damage they had doneto each other.”
So Anakin’s“I hate you” was the result of a lot more than just Obi-wan cutting off hislimbs. That didn’t help matters but it’s was definitely not the only thing.
That’s why Idon’t think Anakin would ever think anything Obi-wan did to him was ever fairgame. Obi-wan fondness for cutting of limbs is cruel and unnecessary even whenhe doesn’t leave people to burn so, in Anakin’s case, it was even worse. Anakinwas also being incredibly arrogant, so the possibility of Obi-wan actuallyhurting or defeating wasn’t even on his mind.
That’s whyhe was angry to be defeated like that and then have the prophecy thrown in hisface.
Anakin committedsome pretty heinous crimes and he absolutely deserved to be punished but whatObi-wan did – how he did –  was cruel ina way that cannot be justified. Taking the lightsaber was the icing on thecake. And that definitely made things even worse. Remember that “THISLIGHTSABER IS YOUR LIFE” so in a way as Anakin burned he had to watch Obi-wan –the man who left him there to suffer this unspeakable pain – walk away with hislife. With all that in mind, Vader hating Obi-wan is completely understandable.

Shopping with Mulder was an experience like no other on a calm, quiet day but release him someplace where he would be surrounded by tiny clothes and tiny furniture and stuffed animals and the means and opportunity to spend money on his future alien-chasing progeny and he was quite the sight to see.
Scully tried to stop him at first but then she simply stood back, following along with the widest grin she’d ever worn while pushing a shopping cart and feeling bigger than a house. Mulder made friends with several workers, holding her hand when possible and when not, keeping his hand on her back, her arm, the side of the cart with his pinkie against hers.
Now, if you ask Mulder, she was way worse than him in the store, with her ‘awww-ing’ and her ‘look at this-ing’ and her bright eyes and ‘wanna touch everything’ fingers, smoothing collars, gliding over Winnie-the-Pooh fur, trailing down the sides of cribs and playpens and car seats with the calloused precision of one who lived her life doing hard things and longed for the soft.
They had to forgo most purchases but, under Mulder’s insistence and twinkling eyes, they opted to register for a few things for the baby shower her mother and sisters-in-law had been both asking her about and planning behind her back. It didn’t take much convincing and soon, the list was filling and the day was disappearing in a whirl of all things baby, “Mulder! It’s a little early for a tricycle and where do you think we’re going to store it for the next four years?”
“You just be quiet.”
She moved along, smiling, “whatever you say, crazy person.”
“Indeed.” With a kiss to her cheek, they continued down their current aisle, reaching the end and discovering that they’d run out of store, “where’s the rest of it?”
“That’s it, Mulder. Sixteen aisles is all you get and before you ask,” finger poising against his lips even as they began opening in his inevitable question, “and no, we are not going through again to see what you missed. You didn’t miss anything. Believe me.”
Semi-pout scrunching his face, “you were more fun in aisle 6.”
“Well, aisle six is always the best in every store.”
He debated and agreed, “that’s the Cheetoh and candy aisle at the grocery store.”
“See!”
“Good call. All right, you ready to get out of here? Go argue at the hardware store about paint colors and stenciling?”
Eyes drifting sideways to glance at him, eyebrows thinking of raising to that ‘did you just mention stenciling’ level, “have you been watching ‘This Old House’ or something?”
“Martha Stewart.”
“I really can’t leave you alone, can I?”
Beginning to pull things out of their cart to set them by the register, “I wouldn’t.”
&&&&&&
Paint color decisions came easier that either expected, yellow settled on with green and white accents, “that’ll fit a boy or a girl or whatever we might have.”
“Are you expecting it to be something other than a boy or a girl?”
“I plan for all contingencies.” Tossing rollers and brushes and tape and various other painting sundries into the cart in front of him, “although you get to pick out the actual colors ‘cause with my luck and my eyes, our kid would be surrounded by pea green and mustard yellow.”
Shuddering slightly at the thought of that little nightmare, she complied, picking out a soft yellow and a subtle green, not pastel but not primary bright either. Mulder approved, both soon back in the car, feeling the weight of purchases and enjoying it immensely.
Eventually home, steaks eaten, potatoes devoured, cupcakes inhaled, they carried everything to the future nursery, Mulder doing most of the lifting, Scully doing her best not to drop accessories. Once in the room, they both stopped, staring at the wall, “those will have to come down for the time being.”
“But we’ll be putting them back up, yes?”
Staring at the progression of their child, ultrasound pictures from the first hospital visit, through every weekly photo the Gunmen had printed for her from her home scans, framed in cheap black plastic, lined up straight, “oh, yeah. I’d also like to label them. Maybe paint the date on the wall above them or something.”
“Oh, my God, you need to turn off Martha and go outside once in awhile.”
Shrugging, he bumped her shoulder, “ready to clean this place out?”
“Let’s get it on.”
&&&&&&&
It was after midnight before Mulder moved the last bookcase to the living room, trying his best to be quiet as he stubbed his toe and jammed his finger simultaneously, wincing in unearthly agony, swearing silently to the sky and the devil and everyone in between until he could breathe normally, his vision clear, his appendages down to low throb. Scully had been forced to give up several hours ago but he carried on, determined to empty the room and clean it before tomorrow’s painting session and now, in a yawning stupor, he turned off lights and climbed in beside her, jostling but not waking, impressive for him and something she’d reward him for with a kiss tomorrow over bowls of Cheerios and buttered toast.
&&&&&&
“Mulder?”
Voice muffled by closet, he backed out, on hands and knees, pausing his trim painting to see why she bellowed, “what?!”
“Why are you yelling at me?”
“I don’t know. This closet’s making everything echo and a lot louder than I think. My breathing sounds like Darth Vader in here.”
Walking over to the window for some fresh air, the smell not bad but still making her a little dizzy without frequent breathers, “and not one joke about lightsabers. The fumes must be getting to you.”
“Probably.” Looking up at her from his now sitting position on the carpet, “what did you need?”
“I just wanted to know if you had any more tape.”
“Nope. Did we run out?”
“Yeah. I haven’t finished the other wall yet.”
Deciding he needed fresh air as well, he popped up, “I’ll run down the street to the drug store and get some.”
“I can go.”
“Nope. Already up and out the door. Back in 10.”
&&&&&&&&&&
Two minutes later, her phone rang and seeing Mulder’s name showing on the ID screen, she shook her head with a grin, thinking he couldn’t need the emergency bail money this quickly while answering, “two rolls should do it, Mulder, and a Payday bar, please.”
The voice invading her ear made her toes freeze, her chest constrict, her muscles contract, fingers gripping as she processed Krychek’s words, hissed across the connection, “didn’t want you to forget about us and just to let you know, this time, he’s not just standing on the balcony.”

Beast of Burden Chapter 3
Ch. 3 Momentary Peace
Hey y’all. We out here. This one is explicit, so younglings, be warned...er go away. Hope ya enjoy! Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions or requests for the story even. I love feedback :)
Rey breathed Ben’s air as she rocked against him, controlling the rhythm of his hips with hers as she moved on top of him. Guiding her hips with his large hands, he gazed up at her.
His breath was ragged as he sputtered grunts of effort for her. He reached up to take her enticingly enlarged breasts in his hands, her nipples swollen and pink.
“Ah!” She winced.
“Sorry!” He was horrified, releasing her.
“No, no, it’s okay,” she whispered, lowering herself to his face to brush her lips against his.
“I keep hurting you,” he murmured against her lips as they maintained a steady rhythm. Sweating and merging together. Rey’s belly was now an obvious spectacle without her cloak and tunic on to hide it and even that barely did the job.
“No, it feels so good Ben, please don’t stop,” she whisper-moaned into his ear. He marveled at her, admiring each and every new change in her body. He loved the sight of her slightly protruding belly rubbing against him as she received him.
“Oh Ben, yes!” Rey screeched. “Oh stars Ben, right there!”
She rolled onto her back after they shared an orgasm that shook them both to the core as they prayed with the Force to never end.
Her head spinning, she basked in the feeling. Ben rolled over and kissed her stomach.
Rey and Ben had not seen each other for over a month as both of them had to return to the opposite sides of the war to act as if nothing was going on — as if Rey wasn’t carrying Ben Solo’s child.
But here they lay, in their secret hiding flat on Takodana — a secluded structure in the woods where Maz had promised their privacy and safety. Beams of sunlight streaked their bed. It was 3 in the afternoon and they had been at it since, well, probably around 7 am.
Rey’s libito had transformed into a beast of its own — but Ben didn’t seem to mind. Although he was starting to grow tired. His eyelids began to flutter open and closed as he drifted off in exhaustion.
“You can’t go to sleep!” Rey said, playfully hitting him with her pillow.
“Ugh,” Ben sighed, turning away from her on his side. “You’ve worn me out. I can’t anymore today....And are you sure all of this activity is good for the- the-”
“Baby?”
“...Yeah.”
“Ben you’ve got to learn how to say that word. You’re going to be holding one in 5 months,” she chuckled. “Holding our baby.”
“Okay, well whatever, you didn’t answer my question.”
“Maz said it’s perfectly fine,” Rey grinned, proudly.
Ben covered his face with his hands in embarrassment.
“You asked Maz?” He groaned.
“Of course! Who else was I supposed to ask? Your mother?” She teased.
Ben rolled over onto his stomach and pulled the pillow over his head. Now she’d done it.
“She took the news well...” Rey said softly, standing up to pull her robe over her shoulders.
“What?” Ben pulled the pillow down slowly, to reveal his eyes. “What the kriff do you mean?”
“Don’t swear at me Solo,” Rey mused, tying the robe closed and walking out of the room.
Ben tossed the bedding aside and stood to follow her, still completely naked.
Rey strode into the kitchen to boil water as Ben trailed after her.
“Rey, what did you do?” Ben said, leaning against the cooler, towering over her and blocking her from opening it.
“Move please, I’m going to fix breakfast.” She smiled.
“You don’t know how to cook and besides it’s 3 o’clock in the afternoon,” He pointed to a ticking wall clock.
Rey folded her arms.
“Okay, I told your mother that I’m pregnant.”
Ben’s jaw dropped as he raised his hands up to gesture a “what the kriff” at her, although the words never left his lips.
“She knows it’s yours, I told her everything.”
“Everything?”
“Everything.”
Ben swallowed and moved out of the way of the cooler, raising his arms in the air in surrender.
“Don’t worry Ben, everything will be kept secret, for now. It’s going to be fine. We’ll sort out the details later.”
He stormed out of the kitchen, trying to contain his anger and shock. He needed a moment to process this — or forget about it if that was possible.
She chuckled, watching his naked backside stride out of the room, clenching his fists as he left.
When he reemerged 30 minutes later he wasn’t dressed his typical astringent First Order attire. Although his new garb wasn’t far off. He wore a jet black jedi - resembling tunic. Loosely fitted with long sleeves, the robe reaching his mid thigh was cinched with a tight thick belt at the waist.
Rey’s eyes were on him, he had her attention.
He wore his usual tall, tight fitting black boots with black loser fitting pants. Her lightsaber dangled from his belt as he walked passed her to pour himself a cup of caf from the pot she’d just made. His hair was still slightly wet from the fresher and his skin smelt of minty soap.
As she followed him with her eyes, Rey dropped the ceramic bowl of food she was attempting to prepare. It shattered on the tile floor, splattering a mismatched concoction of ingredients all over the ground.
“Rey!” Ben reacted, spitting hot coffee back into his mug.
“I’m sorry, you startled me,” she reasoned, kneeling down to clean up the mess.
“How so? By the way this coffee is very burnt. Don’t worry about this, I’ll clean it up, go sit down.” He shooed her away with a flick of his wrist.
“Where did you get those clothes?” Rey said, standing up with pieces of the broken bowl in her hands. Ben grabbed a broom to sweep up the food off the ground.
“Maz left them here,” Ben said, unaffected.
“They look like Jedi robes,” she pointed at him. “They’re nice...you look so...you look like a Skywalker...you look like a Solo.”
He flushed with hues of red all over his face, neck and hands as he tried to ignore her. She walked away from him to place the broken pieces of the bowl in the garbage shoot.
The open windows let the light of sunshine fill the tiny kitchen as the trees sang in the wind outside. Rey was happy to be back the midst of a lush forest — this time she wasn’t running away from Kylo Ren. She was defeating him, one day at a time, breaking down his walls to reveal a man who acted and looked more and more like Ben Solo with each passing day.
She sat down, gazing at him lovingly.
“What are you doing with my lightsaber?” She asked.
“It’s technically mine.” He said, pouring her pot of caf down the sink and lighting the stove on to brew a new one.
“It called to me,” she insisted.
“I’m just borrowing it,” he said. “You can’t share?”
Rey smiled sheepishly.
“Are you going to make me breakfast?” She changed the subject, still admiring his new look.
“Sure,” he said. “Whatever would you like, princess?” He asked sarcastically, still cleaning up debris from her spill.
The word sort of slipped out of his mouth. It was something his father used to say to his mother when he was annoyed with her or teasing.
Ben gritted his teeth, regretting his Freudian slip. Shit. What the kriff is happening to me? He winced, shaming himself and rolling his eyes as he turned his back to her to grab an arm full of vegetables out of the cooler.
Rey sort cocked an eyebrow at him, also taking note of the out of character remark.
“Princess?” Rey laughed. “Are you joking?”
“Yes,” Ben blushed.
“Since Leia is technically a princess, would that make you a prince?” She blurted clumsily after skimming through his thoughts. She took a sip of caf.
“No.” he shot. “Get out of my head.”
“A prince,” she trailed off. “I never thought about that before...”
“Stop it.”
“You started it.”
“What do you want to eat, Rey?”
“I would like three eggs, rye toast, hashbrowns, pancakes from that Takodana mix, crispy potatoes and ooh there was some left over beef from last night’s stew and—”
“Yes, I got it, you’re hungry.” Ben almost argued with her, to insist that she eat something a little more nutritious but buttoned his lip as he remembered her her life as a starved scavenger.
He’d make her whatever her heart desires. And he’d dressed in those ridiculous Jedi robes just to make her smile — and also because they were clean.
Rey drew a luxurious breath, finally washing her partner’s sweat off of her under the warm pressure of the stone fresher. She could see Ben outside through a tiny window as she peeked at him on her tip-toes.
He was aggressively slicing wood with the blue blade of her repaired saber for the old wood burning stove that would keep them warm tonight. Perhaps he was training simultaneously.
She felt her stomach twist. Oh maker, not again. She hoped she wouldn’t vomit. As her pregnancy advanced, so did her nausea, which seemed to be getting worse by the day. She closed her eyes and tried to breathe deeply, as Maz had recommended.
As she turned the shower off and reached for her towel to wrap around her, she felt the ground rumble beneath her feet.
Woah...now I’m really going to be sick.
Ben’s senses kicked into high alert after a ripple in the ground knocked the pile of wood he was so carefully stacking, to the ground.
That was no earthquake. That was a ship landing.
The all too familiar sounds of TIE fighters zoomed above the trees. First, panic set in and then, an eery calm.
They were here. The First Order. Whether or not they knew he was there was not apparent but he didn’t have time to sit around and wait for them to find him.
Jumping over the pile of logs, he sprang toward the cabin, throwing the door open and hurrying to their sleeping quarter.
“Ben, they’re here-”
“I know!” Ben said. “Where are my clothes?”
“They’re in that wash bucket over there, I figured they needed to be cleaned,” she said, biting her nails.
“Kriff,” he muttered, digging his lightsaber out of a black box.
“What are we going to do? Do you think they could find us out here?”
“Yes,” he said. “Get dressed now. Take this, you’ve got to get far away from here,” he said, handing her the lightsaber as he clipped his own to his belt. Rey tugged on her usual clothing as quickly as she could, her hair still wet.
“Do you think Hux suspects—”
“I don’t know.”
An explosion sounded outside, shaking the cabin and knocking Rey into him as as she tried to contain a scream.
“Rey,” he grabbed her hands, bringing them to his chest. “You’re going to have to run. On foot.”
It wasn’t the prospect of running that scared her but the worry that the First Order may have figured their scheme out — that she might never see Ben again.
“What about you?”
“it’s better if they don’t see us together,” he insisted. “You’re going to have to trust me.”
She swallowed hard, staring into his eyes. But her confidence in herself did not waiver.
“Okay,” she said, determined.
“I’ll come back for you, sweetheart,” he said, clipping her lightsaber to her belt for her and kissing her forehead. “I promise.”
And with that, she ran out of the cabin and into the woods. She ran as far as her legs would take her through the Takodana forest.
To be continued...
