So basically deer shed the velvet from their antlers. It looks horrible but it doesn't hurt them at all and it makes way for new antlers and it's good for them blah blah blah. My idea behind this was that the Velvet from Arthurs antlers shed and showed real arthur when he's sick. The sickness looks awful, but it's revealing a better version of him. The flowers are also anemones, which symbolise all different things but also Sickness and rebirth, which i felt was fitting.
