wait what’s the situation w the chicago scene as prolife ??

i spent a lot of time in high school injecting my brain cells with bleach by combing through the old chicago hardcore forums and websites and there was a lot of pro life ideology on there as well as a lot of pro fascist ideology, hitler adjacent imagery, and generally heinous shit about women and gay people.

i understand this was also to a degree Early 4Chan and all of these band ppl were different and had different opinions and different focuses and they were not all BFFLs and the primary focus was anti-racism and being vegan and a lot of good stuff and that's really cool.

however, i am not crazy or lying about the abortion thing, because this is on wikipedia. sean muttaqi was the co-founder of this movement, which "militantly opposed" abortion, and he is always quoted as a primary authority on everything hardcore-era fall out boy. which is like fine idc if they quote him and i know the band fell out with him at some point too.

Pete Wentz is on this wikipedia page as one of the most famous people associated with the movement . Andy hurley drummed for sean muttaqis band vegan reich as well, and vegan reich are on this wikipedia page as being one of the most well known hardline bands. Pete wentz also has a beyond questionable journal entry that seems to be about a girl getting an abortion.

I normally would not care about or talk about this at all, because not everything has to be about causes i personally care about and people should be able to like have conversations acknowledging the good parts past political movements without being "well actually"'d by tumblrinas online

except for the fact that recently, in a specific thing i will not name that was written by a brand new fanboy, there was an obvious push to rebrand the early hardcore roots of fall out boy as being like feminist or something

i dont believe claims like this were made in the oral history of tttyg that came out 10 years ago, and in fact, in the unauthorized bootleg documentary, someone in (i think) 7 angels 7 plagues told a story about pete roundhouse kicking their girlfriend in the face.

And like at this point in my life, i dont have the time or energy to care if band guys hate women or whatever. But i draw the line at Being Swmrs about it too. I will not endorse this behavior on my Tumblr account.

Miss girl. Picture this. Warped tour 2005. Pete and Mikey hook up. Pete is unfortunately Tumblrina coded and and posts all about it on MySpace. Due to the fact that this is the Internet and ppl have the uncontrollable power to screen shot we now have proof that more than half of the Fall Out Boy discography is about Michael James Way due to the fact that all of Petes's lyrics are also found in his posts about Mikey. And the thing is that it's an open secret. NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THIS. But it happened. And they moved on, both of them got married and has kids but apparently Pete is Jensen coded as fuck and only knows how to do 1 thing so he's still out here writing bout Mikey Way 15 years later and that's how emos reclaimed the 4th of July as Petekey day because of the the song. I found this song a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it. But, over the last few days, even before I saw episode 13, I have been really listening to the words and I can’t help but think that this songs reminds me of VegasPete, particularly the words being from Pete’s perspective. I don’t know if anyone can see this, but I would thought I would share this with you guys.
