I have been suicidal for almost a year, and I simply don’t care about anything. Nothing matters. It won’t make a difference if I act on my urges and kill myself. hey. i can't change your mind about your fundamental belief system, especially when it correlates so deeply with your suicidal thoughts, and to be honest it's not my job to. all i can do is tell you what i think, right? whether or not you're truly receptive to it is up to you. first of all, i'm really sorry to hear that you've been struggling for the past year. the depth of this type of hopelessness is indescribably painful, and you do not deserve it. the sadness isn't as permanent as you think it is right now. secondly, i think it's really easy to look at the state of the world and the relative 'pointlessness' of humanity, and to use that as an excuse of sorts to throw yourself into oblivion and self destruction. just because there is no definitive reason as to why we're all here doesn't mean you have to waste the opportunity, alright? it doesn't mean that all of the tragedies and victories of the human race are devoid of impact. it matters because it matters to us, to people, and to the world. just like you do. listen, the fact that there's not a known purpose means we can create our own. that's it. we're not a slave to anything outside of ourselves, we're not being imposed upon as far as we know. your life is an open ended sandbox and it has meaning because you can make it have meaning, in whatever sense you want. over and over again you will find meaning, you'll find something to hold onto if you look for it. it doesn't have to be the old capitalist ideal of 'i'm only worth something if i make good money/amount to something', doesn't mean you have to find true love or discover the cure for cancer. you can control your own narrative, and you don't have to use that fact to hurt or kill yourself. okay? like i said before, there's no all encompassing answer. we can go back and forth on this sort of thing all day, all week, all month even. it always comes back to the fact that regardless of the perceived insignificance of humanity, you are here. yeah it's all a choice, your choice, but some part of you would regret giving it up. the whole point of life is to experience it in full. every day, emotion, person you meet, change you make, that's the definition of importance in and of itself. it seems like empty words, but if you do what you can to honestly believe that, or at least attempt to, you will feel a little better.of course if you view life and the planet through a purely cosmic perspective at all times, you will feel small and worthless. you can't judge everything on that scale. existentialism is a natural part of our existence to an extent, but when it combines with suicidal thoughts or mental illness like this, that's when you know your mind set can't be fully trusted. i don't know if there's anything i can say that will make you want to stay alive, but you don't even have to want it in order to do the right thing, to seek the help you need. yes, it's up to you what you do, but just because you can't see your worth as a singular person doesn't mean others can't, doesn't mean they can't support you. and that's why there's even a debate about this at all, that's why you sent this ask, that's why you're still alive. because on some level it matters, and that is enough. you can find a way to create what you want from this existence, and of course there are limitations, but deliberately keeping yourself in a bad place will only feed into the cycle. it won't give you any of the answers you're looking for. suicidal thoughts and issues with your mental health are terrifying, and they can make you think in extremes like this, and recognizing that fact will help a lot with your level of self awareness. especially if you're honest with yourself about why you're so fixated on ending your life in the first place, what's stopping you from doing it, and why you being alive matters in many senses even if you don't want it to.like i said, i can't change your mind. if you're mentally ill, it is going to take professional help (please refer to your doctor, tell them what you told me) and a few painful conversations before you begin to dissect the perspective you've adapted, why you think the way you do, how to implement healthier coping strategies into your life etc. and, i'd highly recommend it, i'd pretty much beg you to look into that option if you haven't already or if it's possible. if you don't know where to start, there are many resources and hotlines available and they'll show you what your choices are. yes, it's scary. yes, it'll feel pointless at the time. and yes, it's easier said than done. but it will be worth it. saying it out loud and letting others in, actively choosing to do something for yourself - it'll allow you to shift your mentality over time. look if it won't make a difference, like you said, then why not try? if it's all the same to you, why not go for the interesting option? you're more than capable of surviving this moment in your life man, i truly believe that. you sent this because some part of you wanted an alternative narrative, some part of you knows that your knowledge is limited (as everyone's is) and so hurting yourself based on such nebulous and uncontrollable factors is pointless. look at what's in your hands and focus on that, okay? let it be enough. and please just take care, do what you can to make your health a priority. this doesn't have to be a fight. your life is occurring whether you want it to or not. try to find the pockets of peace within it. thats all. let me know if you need a friend or if you want to talk. look after yourself.

The hate on this website is getting out of hand now.

Alright, there are things I need to get off my chest because its driving me up the fucking wall now. 

I’ve been on Tumblr for a good few years now, and for the most part its been a great experience. The amount of genuine, lovely and funny people on here is what I came and have remained here for. But there’s another, quite large side of this site that I can’t stand to look at anymore.

Listen to me now, there is a line. There is a line between voicing your opinion for topics like sexuality and race and all sorts and that’s amazing. In our current generation, we shouldn’t have to put up with racism or homophobia, its fucking 2017, views like that aren’t even taken seriously at this point because no one cares about what they have to say.

But there is a line between supporting these things, and just downright belittling, bulling or harassing other people who you consider to be... ‘unworthy’. 

Honestly, the way some people talk on here is exhausting.

“Everything is racist!”

“Everything is sexist!”

“Everything is homophobic/ transphobic!”

... no it fucking isn’t.

The amount of man hating, white hating, cis hating bullshit on this website is terrible, some of you should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. 

You love to talk about ‘male privilege’ or ‘white privilege’, when at times I don’t think you lot even understand what these words mean anymore. 

I’ve seen things about how all men are scumbags or try to belittle females and that’s just not true. 

Are there sexist pigs that aren’t worth your time out there? Hell yes there is.

I’ve always been a believer of racism in all aspects. As in all races can be racist towards other races because no matter how much you say otherwise, for the most part, that is what racism is now. It judging people by the colour of their skin, or religion. 

You can’t attack someone and justify it by saying that ‘no one other than white people can be racist’, because that’s bullshit. The fact that people glossed over that lad who was kidnapped and tortured by those black teens because he was white and autistic is fucking sickening. 

A black man shot by police for pulling out his wallet, was the same as that white man who got shot for pulling out a fucking walking stick. Its not a race problem, its a police problem. Trigger happy, under-trained cops with power is the problem. 

Like I said, I truly believe racism and prejudice still exist, of course it does, but the way some of you try to deal with it man... its no fucking wonder others don’t take SJW/BLM/feminism seriously anymore. 

Acting as if all people of colour, female or different sex or religion is a sensitive wee sausage who has to be protected, their culture has to be protected.

We share culture to learn about others culture, its why we go to different countries. Someone selling burritos or having dreadlocks is very fucking different from someone wearing blackface and outright mocking someone for their culture. 

We don’t focus on the real acts of racism, or the real acts of sexism and so on, because we’re too busy making up new problems. Nonsense problems that never fucking existed until you lot made it an issue. 

Terrorism is a very real issue all over the world. Right now.

Shootings and suicide bombers are killing innocent people all over the world. People are losing their loved ones.

If there was a time where we all need to stand together and unite with one another, bitch its now. Now is not the time for your fabricated privilege shit.

At least you don’t live somewhere where you could potentially get thrown in prison or be killed cold blooded for being gay, or in a country where internet access and free speech is forbidden. Yeah, trying telling the white man who was thrown in prison for no just cause other than he disagreed with someone of higher power that he’s fucking privileged. 

Tell any white male that hes a privileged piece of shit even though he is literally going through the trash looking for scraps to eat and things to sell. 

If you’re gonna tell me that none of what I said is true, then look no further than a feminist compilation on Youtube. Women screaming at the tops of their lungs because a man said hi to them on the street? Are you kidding me?

Just... I didn’t mean for this to be this long, I got into a bit of a tizzy. 

All I want as a human being in my life is to be happy, and for other to be happy, believe it or not.

I want racism and sexism and homophobia to end too, of course I do. 

I want to live in peace with everyone else on the planet we all share, but apparently that’s never gonna fucking happen. But love outweighs hate. 

Always. 

Treat people the way you want to be treated, show people acts of kindness.

That’s all I want.

I’m just mad that I’ve lost any faith that these movements are going to do anyone any good. Extremists ruin everything and at this point that’s a fact.

I’m gonna ask that you don’t attack me for this, but I doubt asking is gonna do much good for some. 

And while I support the foundations of these things, I don’t support what they’ve become. Thats it.
