Needed to make this post because I keep seeing this-

I keep seeing people mistake this scene where Macaque smiles at Wukong during the Specials as a sign that he forgives him.

No, he does not, he’s still trying to trust Wukong again. You can see it in the beach scene. They still bicker slighty after this scene, and during the beach scene, Macaque looks at Wukong briefly believing his words before doubting him again. Or at least still getting a bad feeling.

Macaque and Wukong are far from forgiving each other, they’re still trying to trust each other again. However Season 4 is pretty much a start.

Even though Wukong seems to like forgive Macaque, I’m pretty sure it’s because he just survived a series of self-loathing and guilt, he’s probably not fully recovered.

That being said again.

This doesn’t prove Macaque forgave Wukong yet.

People who see this completely forget the conversation MK was having with Wukong.

Prior to Macaque smiling at him, MK tries to lift Wukong’s spirits up, give him hope like Wukong did for him. Encourage him even. He makes a whole speech about getting Wukong back on his feet and becoming the Monkey King again.

However, Wukong doubts it, so he looks to Macaque.

Again some people forget the whole context of this entire scene and just miss out on crucial details BECAUSE WUKONG ISN’T EVEN ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS HERE.

IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE WITH THE WHOLE ASS CONVERSATION-

Wukong knows that MK is his biggest fan, that MK looks to him with rose-tinted glasses, that to a fault, the kid sees too much good in Wukong, he WANTS to believe Wukong is good, Wukong knows that’s his one flaw about his view of him.

So he doesn’t take the staff immediately after MK encourages him, instead he looks to Macaque.

Why? Because he’s asking him, Macaque KNOWS Wukong. He knows Wukong far too much than probably Wukong himself. Macaque can see his faults, his mistakes, he knows Macaque HATES him. HATES the Monkey King, he’s honest about his doubts, his views on Wukong. Despite Azure’s praise, Macaque sees him for what he is.

Prior to this scene, Wukong was suffering with the curse of the scroll, reliving his mistakes and we know one of his mistakes that is most definitely going to play in his head is the scene where he broke off with Macaque. The scene where he yells at Macaque and seemingly destroys his friendship with him forever.

‘No that’s you! You’re the one always running off! Looking for more power! More sources of immortality! You’re the one who wouldn’t quit while we were ahead! Not the Great Sage! He’s always trying to drag everyone into his mess!’ Macaque was right. It was him that lost his sights on power, on why he was even gaining power in the first place, it was him who tried bigger and bigger until he couldn’t carry the load anymore. He’s the one who was reckless, not Macaque.

And he was right, he dragged Macaque into this. And only hurt him, the brotherhood and MK by dragging them into the mess he created. By letting MK fight his battles, by letting Macaque get injured over and over again just because he wanted him to help regardless of Macaque’s opinion on the matter. He dragged the Brotherhood into this false sense of justice and power that they ended up getting killed or sealed away.

He hurt them. He hurt them as the Monkey King. All he ever did as the Monkey King was hurt people. That’s why he looks to the one guy that can tell him, tell him honestly.

He asks the one guy that hates his guts, that has every right to hate his guts.

If it was alright for him to BE that guy again.

The reckless, egotistical, self-centered Monkey King again. He asks Macaque, who so negatively views Monkey King’s role as a hero if he should BE that hero again.

He asks Macaque if MK is right. This time, This time he’ll listen. Just tell him if it’s okay for him to BE that guy, if he needs to take a step back, he will no questions asked.

Instead.

Macaque smiles at him.

He assures Wukong that he’s okay with it. Yes he can be that guy, flaws and all. He’s willing to give him that chance.

Macaque was giving Wukong not only permission but assurance that Wukong is allowed to be that hero again. The one that everyone adores and loves and the one that people NEED right now.

Only then does Wukong stand and take the staff once more.

Macaque and Wukong still need to trust each other again sure.

But this whole scene is just Wukong at his DEEPEST and LOWEST he’s ever been. The usually loud, cheery and expressive Monkey King was reduced to the unusually quiet, sad and barely even audible Wukong who had been beaten down by his guilt and shame. He can barely look at MK…he can barely raise his voice. And judging by how quiet he was he might’ve been crying until his voice gave out. Paired with Macaque holding grudges yet still reminiscing their good times together. Seeing THAT must’ve been so disturbing for him.

Again, Macaque has this view of Wukong. The same way he notices MK’s despair and loss of light, he notices Wukong’s change in personality. However, unlike MK, there’s a chance Macaque has never SEEN this side of Wukong. He’s always seen Wukong so confident and unbreakable. So much so he doesn’t hold back against him at all. But seeing THIS must’ve done something to him- like scared him, disturbed him.

And now he’s looking at him like that? He’s so low on self-esteem that he looks to the one guy that hates his guts more than anyone else for permission to be that guy again? It probably frightened him more than anyone ever realized.

Right I went out drinking so missed everything this afternoon however

Andrea Stella go and get your driver and sit him down. Explain that a win isn’t everything. He thinks it is but it isn’t the end of the world.

Lando has brought more podiums to that team than anyone in the last 10 years. He has brought those home through an awful car. His points haul is responsible for their constructors position the last three years. The two races he could and should have won, a call from the pit wall stopped it. (Sadly the person who made the call to hold station in Monza is no longer even with the team). He has out performed the cars so many days when the team have let him down. He has learnt to lead the team, which isn’t just finishing higher, but building the team up when it goes wrong. Sprint races sadly don’t even classify as race wins. You need the Grand Prix win to have that honour. (Yes they are a mess I know. You get points for the Championship but the pole and wins don’t count officially. Someone have it out with the FIA).

There is no lack of talent.

Now step up for your driver. Tomorrow is another race day push the negativity away from him. Make him see that you know he can. Because a lack of talent doesn’t look like P3, or podiums in the last three races he’s raced in. God knows you are going to need him tomorrow because on the days that Oscar cooks his tyres or isn’t as quick, you need Lando to believe he can do it.

Yes Lando would have loved his rookie season to have a competitive car like Lewis or Oscar. They all would.

Pick him up. For your own sake.

Someone get his Dad on a plane. NOW!

He is an integral cog in the wheel and if you allow the media to pile on him he’s going to break and possible leave, taking all that knowledge with him.

We have sadly been here before with Lando, they know this happens. They also know he comes back stronger, so there is that for Mercedes’ and Ferrari to look forward to.

I do think it’s funny in a tone-deaf way when I overhear my mum watching a CBS crime show (cough cough usually NCIS or one if it’s many offshoots) and a character will make a reference to MASH, how much they love MASH and how MASH inspired them and it’s just like…the tonal dissonance between the show referenced and the show doing the referencing is like absurdist comedy.

Like you, little trigger-happy, flag saluting, bad joke making, overly westernised military cop characters in this show…

You the writers, who come up with these openly propaganda fuelled stories and jokes and character beats…

Y’all know that through the viewpoint of the vast majority of the characters, writers and ideals pushed by MASH, you guys are the enemy, right? You are more the enemy than the actual “enemy” in this show about the Korean War ever was.

Bonus points if said gun-weilding, military-supporting cop character who is extremely blasé about their violent actions and their privilege shows a fondness for Hawkeye Pierce. Like girl he would hate you.

So… I’m back! lol

Never left, actually, but haven’t written a text post in… months. Maybe years?

Anyways, how are you doing? Well, I hope!

Just wanted to give you a few heads-up on things that have changed in the past two/three years:

I got engaged and moved in with @iolanda-zanfardino (please, do me a favour and follow her, SHE’S A FUCKING GENIUS), which is also my working partner! <3 During these years we created 3 creator owned comics series:

Alice in Leatherland ( Black Mask Studios);

A Thing Called Truth  (Image Comics);

The Least We Can Do (Image Comics);

Hecate’s Will (Black Mask Studios);  PS: this is Iolanda’s second complete author book -first was Midnight Radio from OniPress-. She completed the book between Alice and ATCT and I have no idea how she was able to pull it off! Sadly, for reasons beyond her control, the book’s been stuck at issue #3 for months, but publication should be restarting soon... ) 

That’s s lot of stuff! It’s queer and it’s made by queer people!

This may explain why you have not seen me interact much, but I can tell you that turning yourself into a comics creator full time is no joke and… takes time!

What I am going to do here from now on is promote these comics here ( as you may have already noticed) so, yeah, this post is a confirmation that things have changed “a bit” from the moment you’ve been following me for fanarts, shits and giggles, but… if you still want to hang with this blog of mine, you’re welcome! And please, support our comics! I hate the promoting part, I’m not good at that, but it would really help if you could “like & share” our posts (this place aint like Twitter, likes don’t show up on other people’s timelines/dashboards, they’re more like bookmarks for yourself or something like that, so if you REALLY want people to see something you gotta HIT that reblog button!).

Now, my plan includes creating a comics creator network just like Twitter had/has. I’ll do my best to support other comics creators as well! I want to reblog their stuff on this blog too, but in order to do so, please write your tumbrl post comics url down here!

Guys, I hate making posts like these but...I need to say it:

Please, I am politely asking/respectfully begging y’all to leave comments on my fics.  I never thought I would be one of those writers who beg their readers for comments but...here we are.

Like I am not kidding, I get more kudos than comments, which is fine but like...I want comments.  I used to complain about getting too many comments and not enough kudos but now it���s the complete opposite! 

Like, it doesn’t take that long to just leave a “I liked it!” or an “I enjoyed this!” or even a freaking heart emoji.  You don’t have to leave me a whole ass book report, anything is fine.  (But I will cry if you leave me a book report, those are my favorite types of comments).

Even on my devil judge fics I’m not getting comments.  And I used to get comments on them all the time.  And now I just get kudos!  Not even bookmarks!  (And for the Killer and Healer fandom, because it’s a lot smaller, the numbers are down for them too!)

I’m trying to be grateful for the attention that I’m given, I really am, but I swear I just feel like I’m posting into the void and it’s just kind of like...what’s the point of spending all this time and effort into something if no one’s going to appreciate it?  (I’m not saying that y’all don’t cuz I know you do it’s just...)

And like...I think the thing that’s so frustrating is that like, I reblog ask games that are like “ask me about my fics” or “get to know me as a writer” and it’s just like...I want to talk to people about my fics!  I want to talk about my writing and to just explode and share and ramble and everything and it’s just...I don’t know. 

I know people have lives and what not and when I finally get a job, I’ll have less time to spend on writing and on doing fandom shit (not like I’ll stop of course, I’ll just have less time in the day to focus and spend time on that) so like I get it, it’s just...*heavy sighs*

I’m rambling and I’m on my soapbox so I’ll just get off now

jess/lorelai/logan? who is who? dumbledore comes to rescue?

saw a comparison of lorelai to logan on here and i’ve been mulling this one lil theory in my head for a while now, and i want to put in my two cents. so, obviously people are there from both sides comparing lorelai to jess and also to logan. before i go deep into any of that, i wanna give an analogy that i think fits perfectly here. i will assume everybody here has a basic knowledge of harry potter lore. the main rivalry throughout the story is obviously between harry and voldemort. and one thing that’s hinted throughout it all, is the constant similarities between voldermort and harry. and there are a lot. both of them being highly intelligent, rule-breaking, half-bloods, orphans and i could go on and on. and there is even a specific scene where harry asks dumbledore about all of it, and dumbledore reassures harry saying despite similarities, what makes both voldemort and harry fundamentally different is the choices that they make. harry choosing the greater good everytime, and voldemort choosing to be evil. obviously things are not that serious in gilmore girls, lol. but applying this simple analogy explains a lot, actually. logan and lorelai do have similarities. manipulative parents (emily and mitchum), wealthy background, wanting to escape that lifestyle. i could partially say cheating (but the lorelai/luke situation at the end of s6 was clear on both sides as both lorelai and luke were aware that they crossed a point and that they were not together anymore, while rory was still thinking her and logan were just in a fight, nothing serious. but, let me include that as well for the sake of this argument). but, to me, these similarities are surface-level.i am not going to call harry and voldemort, the same people cause of their surface-level similarities. both logan and lorelai despite having parallels, FUNDAMENTALLY differ at their core. inspite of lorelai growing up in a wealthy background, she despised that lifestyle and everything that was associated with it. the dressing up, the partying, the high society, the people in it, the expectations that comes with it. from what we see in her childhood flashbacks, she doesn’t even have friends from that same society and comes off as annoying to those people. on the other hand, logan thrives in the billionaire setting, he loves the dressing up, the partying, the high society, the people, the friends, he is able to charm everyone in that society unlike lorelai. the only thing he doesn’t want is the expectations that comes with being born in such a society. he still wants all the wealth and luxury his dad has to offer, but he wants to do what he wants instead of following mitchum. that’s the only difference whereas lorelai wanted nothing to do with that world. that is exactly why even when he tries to branch off in s7, he goes back to his dad again cause he ultimately misses that golden cushion of luxury. he can’t live without it, he is weak. lorelai can live without it and is very firm on wanting to be independant. lorelai hates that world and moves away from it, logan doesn’t hate that world (infact proudly admits he is a part of it), only thing he wants is to do things his own way with all that wealth. i used to think before that “logan is who lorelai would have grown up to be, if she lived with her parents”.....but that was until i realized her parent’s world only seemed to drain her and not nurture her in anyway (keep in mind, im referring to the “parents world” in particular, not the “parents” cause logan’s parent’s world nurtured him but his parents didn’t). when we’re shown lorelai’s first proper interaction with emily’s world in the show, she tries to escape through the window. logan’s first interaction with this world, he is pleasing all the adults and winning them over and being charming (at rory’s party set up by emily in s5). if lorelai had grown up in emily’s world, she probably would have only become a stressed out adult constantly trying to escape it, loathing it and beating herself up over not doing anything, basically a fish out of water. by the revival, logan seems more than comfortable with his life, happy even with the way things are except for his love life. this is not me saying logan=voldemort and harry=lorelai, lol. i once again bring the wisdom of dumbledore here, “it’s our choices that show us what we are, far more than our abilities”. despite having surface level parallels, lorelai and logan are very different people at their core, their choices in life prove that. now, there is one other person, harry shared parallels with other than voldemort. they were both highly intelligent, did things for the greater good, were excellent leaders, lived a loner for the most part, amazing magical abilities. it was none other than dumbledore himself. here’s where jess comes into this equation. both harry and dumbledore had different childhoods, dumbledore grew up rich and in the magical world while harry was an orphan in the human world. lorelai and jess don’t have similar backgrounds either, jess grows up abandoned in a poor setting while lorelai has her wealthy background. yet, both are the same people at their core in many other ways. the chip on your shoulder bit (which lorelai herself tells that she had mastered, to none other than jess himself). their sense of humor/sarcasm is so identical, it baffles me. i especially noticed it the first time we see jess at emily’s and him making comments like “i am a carnivore”, “i wanna be buried there (at walmart)” “thanks for the paycheck” etcetera and cut to lorelai everytime at friday night dinners with her quippy comments annoying emily. both her and jess have almost this kind of will to be independant/free and to stand on their own feet. both rebel a lot as teens but end up well-established as adults having done everything on their own. lorelai becomes the owner of dragonfly inn and jess, one of the co-founders of trucheon. they came to where they are, on their own. both are sincere and hardworking if they put their minds to something. cue mia praising lorelai’s dedication as a maid in s2, and jess getting praised by the manager at walmart for being an excellent forklifter. they even lived in crappy places when starting out. jess at his s4 apartment and lorelai at the shed in the inn. both of them think running away is the solution for a problem. jess abandons rory without a word in s3, lorelai abandons max before the wedding without even a discussion of any sort and goes on a roadtrip with rory. jess in s4 asking rory to elope with him and lorelai asking luke to elope with her in s6. both jess and lorelai have no pre-formed ideas to do any of this, after jess is misguided with the advice by luke and lorelai is misguided with the advice by the therapist, they make this rash decision to force their partners to elope with them even though both know enough to understand it’s not a good decision, yet they want to desperately hold onto each one’s failing relationship (in jess’s case, an already broken one). both of them are sarcastic, impulsive and rebellious (in a way diff from logan), run-away-from-problems-type, despise the porsche kids, self-reliant. again mentioning that this is not me comparing logan to voldemort or jess to dumbledore or even harry to lorelai, for the record. the voldemort/harry/dumbledore analogy served as a good template to compare romantically unrelated stand-alone characters, with similarities or parallels. so, from the outside while it does seem like logan is like lorelai, they are very different in their personalities and are not alike beyond surface level and while we don’t see any outright parallels between jess and lorelai, they are the most similar in nature at the core and have very similar tendencies/behaviours. if i start listing actual dialogues and scenes jess and lorelai have in common, i would never stop. so, let me end this long ass essay here. this lil theory seemed more coherent when i was mulling it in my head and now it looks so stupid, lol. ignore it if it does. am i just talking sh*t? probably? am i having fun talking this sh*t? ABSOLUTELY.

no because seeing people give up on Underlust is violently upsetting.

when you throw it away due to the creator’s actions when the creator disowned it and is no longer around, you are letting them win.

Do not let this AU represent the vile interests of the creator, it’s in our hands now, we HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK.

if I see one more person give up on Lust I’m going to blow a gasket because YOU ARE LETTING THE PRO/SHIPPERS W I N.

We can’t let them win. We cannot let them lay claim to something that we have the power to change and that has brought us joy.

Lust is not inseparable from the actions of his creator, if you remove the gross incest stuff from the AU nothing fucking changes, it is not integral to it. He is not tied to this, stop forcing him to be associated with something he is not inherently linked to in any way.

The creator is gone. Underlust belongs to the fans. So let’s make it ours.

for years I’ve been struggling with exhaustion, and I want to know what’s wrong but none of the doctors I talk to seem to understand and it’s so goddamn frustrating

there have been days that I’ve literally slept for 18+ hours straight and the only reason I’ve woken up is because my mom or boyfriend get worried and forced me to stay up, despite the fact that sometimes I’m still so exhausted that I can barely keep my eyes open and my body acts like a limp ragdoll

i have laid in bed half conscious and barely able to move a muscle because my body is so fatigued, and there is nothing I could do about it

it got a little bit better when I was diagnosed with diabetes, because now typically someone will check on me and help me if I’m in that state, but sometimes there are still hours when I lay in bed completely stuck and trying my best to wiggle my toes or fingers in the hopes it will keep me conscious

it’s not sleep paralysis, but I don’t know how to describe it other than being stuck, like my body is heavy beyond belief and it takes every ounce of willpower and energy to stay awake

i’d love to know for certain if it’s chronic fatigue syndrome or something similar, but all of the doctors I’ve talked to just brush it off as depression. I have had depression since I was at least ten years old. I know how it feels for me personally like the back of my hand, and yet none of them believe me when I say that maybe that’s part of the problem, but it’s not the whole problem

it also doesn’t help that there’s not exactly a sure fire way of being tested from chronic fatigue syndrome, but god it would be so nice to know exactly what is happening

being able to say “actually this is why this is happening” when people decide I’m just being lazy, as if I enjoy laying in bed being tortured by my full bladder and hunger pains but being unable to do anything about it
