I was going to make this another rant in the tags but changed my mind because I want people to see it. Last week, there was a Mammett Discord server link going around, along with a handful of other posts from various users who ship Doc and Marty. Then, this afternoon, I got a notification that somebody added one of my gifs to a post. When I checked, it was a post in support of the ship.
For whatever reason, it seems that in the last several weeks there's been an increasing number of pro-Mammett posts/blogs in the fandom, so I feel the need to reiterate: this is NOT a Mammett friendly blog. I made a post on this several months ago. I mention the topic in my bio. Just making this clear for new followers or for people who come across this post in the BTTF tag.
This whole thing is very disturbing.

Yo, what up? Is your Mammett server kinda friendly to other BttF slash pairings or are you guys exclusively Mammett?
kinda friendly? we're more than friendly!
we welcome any and all ships to our server! we even have a few members who don't ship mammett at all and simply wanted to be around BTTF fans who are more easy-going and accepting.
please, feel free to DM me if you're interested in joining! 🥳

Welcome!
Welcome to my blog! This is where I compile my own fanfics, writing tips I find on here, and other writing-related things. I mostly write for Back to the Future, but I have written for other fandoms. I also will sometimes talk about my original writing.
Please feel free to talk to me about fics and writing! Or even tell me about your own writing and thoughts! You can find my fics here!
And while we’re at it, please do not come near me with that Marty/Doc (Mammett) business. The only thing I wanna see between them is their platonic love represented by an ampersand (&).

Boy, what a long day. Bowen sure had a good day at work. Sometimes the time just flies by and he wishes he was just... there for longer! Oh well, at least he has a day off to recuperate and relax. After clocking off, he would head on home, under the city lights and amongst the hustle and bustle.
Might just have tea at home, he thought, since that's where he keeps all the good stuff, even if this accomodation is temporary. This was a world away from home, after all.
Up the stairs he goes, to the apartment he was staying in. Through the door, closing it, then dropping his bag and kicking off his shoes. Might as well check to see what's on television first before considering what to eat. Taking a seat on the couch, he would use the remote to bring the TV to life, curious as to what was on tonight.
..Since he hasn't read any TV guide to check beforehand..

What's your favorite part about the twenty-first century?
“Probably the advancements in technology; it makes everything seem easier and -from what I can tell- more fun.”
As a scientist I must agree that the technological advancements are what most excite me about this time. It’s fascinating, I can’t wait until we are returned to our proper time so that I can look further into these technologies as they become available!

Even if you don’t ship mammett romantically, it’s glaringly obviously that Marty and Doc are platonic soulmates.
The shippers, like me, just think that they’re also romantic soulmates.

For the ask meme - what is your absolute favorite ship? what was your first ship, and what fandom is it from? what’s a ship you like that most people don’t?
What is your absolute favorite ship?
This is a tough question as I have a lot of ships I really like, but, I'll give you an answer none of you will expect;
Glass JoexSamus Aran.
There absolutely is a story behind this ship and it involves the game Tomodachi Life.
What was your first ship, and what fandom is it from?
Kid me loved the idea of seeing King Dedede and Adeleine, from the Kirby series, together, but that was before I even knew what shipping was lmao!
What's a ship you like that most people don't?
Mammett definitely, lmao.
It's a ship I still have a big love for, I just don't draw it as much. Probably should at some point.

I'm growing disillusioned with the BTTF fandom because of the growing amount of M*mmett shippers. I'm sick of the Jennifer and Clara slander with them, I'm sick of them trying to justify this ship even though MARTY'S A CHILD, and I'm sick of how OOC they're making Marty and Doc. This is the reason why I'm sick of hearing theories about how Doc was SAing Marty, because A. it's just feeding into that theory, and B. If that theory continues to grow, it's going to discredit the whole trilogy.
I understand your frustration, and I feel it a lot myself when navigating the fandom. It does feel like the Mammett shippers are much more active and vocal lately, which is as exhausting as it is disturbing. Trying to find fanfics is an especially risky endeavor.
I'll insert a read-more because I'm going to speak honestly here, and this can be a triggering topic for some.
I've been pretty vocal about the fact I don't tolerate those shippers, and I try my best to not knowingly interact with them. I just can't wrap my mind around the whole thing--the way they're so set on trying to justify it, even though there IS no justifying it. One of the main defenses is the "Marty is almost EIGHTEEN" nonsense. Get out of here with that. First of all, he met Doc when he was 13-years-old, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume their "headcanons" involve Doc basically grooming Marty from that age. And even if Marty *was* 18, it makes literally no difference. 18 may be legally an adult, but mentally, that's still very much a kid. The human brain doesn't fully develop until mid to late twenties (and into early 30s, according to current studies!) There is just no way to make it okay.
Like. Good job, they turned Doc into a predator.
And I don't care that it's fiction. There are many dark and twisted aspects of fiction people can safely enjoy without condoning the things in real life, but I draw the line at things like this. People being so obsessed and clinging so tightly to a pedophilic relationship disturbs me to my very core, and it does nothing but put up red flags.
(I also think a part of this whole issue in fandom is connected to what I've mentioned in the past: people being bizarrely unable to process platonic love, especially when it's between two guys. Everything has to be turned into romance for some reason. No. Let people have deep friendships and show love to each other without making it weird. Let two guys hug and be affectionate and emotionally close without being that person who goes: "There's literally no other explanation for this aside from them being romantically in love." Stop, stop, stopstopstopppp. Platonic love is SO IMPORTANT.)
I'm so weary of it. I'll also probably lose followers for this (I lost several with my initial anti-mammett post) and I don't care.
Just know that there are many in the fandom who don't participate in this ship and, in fact, actively fight against it.

Just chuckling to myself in a corner, thinking about ship hate, particularly in regards to Hankcon and Dekumight. Honestly, after basically pioneering Dekumight, antis crying about Hankcon is extremely funny to me. I’ll admit, at least Dekumight antis had some ground to stand on. It’s dry sand, in my opinion, but it’s something. I can see why they dislike it. (Still think they’re whiny babies, but hey.)  But Hankcon antis are genuinely silly, grasping at straws. You know the only vaguely-almost-reasonable argument I’ve seen for why Hankcon is ‘bad and wrong and gross’ is because Hank (53) calls Connor (30~) “son” like once or twice. You know. The age-old term of endearment used by older American men? But because of the subplot of Hank’s actual son Cole (6~) dying years prior, they’re like “oh clearly Hank sees Connor as Cole’s replacement!” Mm, I’m just gonna shake my head at that one. Even if he was still alive, Cole would only be like 10. I’m not a parent yet, but I feel confident in saying that a 30~ year old is not exactly a good replacement for a 10~ year old, emotionally.  Anyway. People can totally like what they like, obviously.  ...Obviously, what I like is age-gap ships haha... ^^;  So, on that note, uh, when is Back to the Future gonna come back into popularity so I can have a go at defending Mammett? XD

TIL that the Mammett fandom or more broadly the BTTF fandom has dwindled in numbers over the last year/has never really been a large fandom full of works and the like to begin with. This makes me immensely sad bc Back to the Future was my first ever obsession. I remember seeing the first movie when I was like six or seven. It's one of my earliest fucking memories. I've been obsessed ever since and that trilogy has been my all time favorite movie ever since. And yes I count all three as one since they all happen over like the course of a weekend.
I want to do better and actually update my only fic I've ever attempted for the fandom and ship. I had high hopes for it but when you love something so much, you put it on a pedestal and you don't want to tarnish it in any way. I've tried to update it so many times but I just don't wanna mess it up.
My point is, as writers it's important to take chances, take risks and do whatever the fuck you want. So even if you think no one will like your writing, you should do it anyway! Do it for you. I'm gonna be better about this and step up and start making things.

Drabble Advent Calendar 2017!
That’s right - it’s happening! As in previous years, I will collect prompts until December 1st. (If, at that point, I have less than 24 prompts, prompting will remain open until I do.) From December 1st through December 24th, I will post one drabble - old school; 100 words exactly - written from a randomly selected prompt. The prompt selected for December 23rd gets a DOUBLE drabble, and the prompt for the 24th gets a 400+ word vignette!
I will write ANY fandom and ANY pairing with which I am even remotely familiar. RPF is more than welcome. Seriously. I’ve been writing fic for almost 20 years, and I know a ton of fandoms. If, against all odds, I can’t write your prompt, I’ll let you know so you can prompt again. You can prompt as often as you like, as many times as you like.
Among my fandoms are (by no means an exhaustive list): Thor: Ragnarok, Life is Strange, Star Trek: Discovery, (and most Star Trek other than VOY), Red Dwarf, Sherlock, Raffles, Cabin Pressure, Freebatch, Back to the Future (yes, I will write mammett!), Blade Runner, Hot Fuzz, Jeeves & Wooster, The Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd, Star Wars, Rick & Morty, Stephen Universe, HHGTTG, Telltale: Batman, Telltale: Borderlands, Isaaac Asimov’s robot stories - and more!
You can prompt by replying to or reblogging this post, or by sending me an ask.
