Isaac Asimov Predicts Robotics In 1964 With Stunning Accuracy!
The #Literature World (and #robotics) would not be the same without having been blessed with IsaacAsimov. Asimov was a prolific writer who wrote or edited more than 500 #books! #booklovers #scifi #sciencefiction #techie #technology
The Lit World (and robotics) would not be the same without having been blessed with the writings and creativity of Mr. Isaac Asimov. Isaac Asimov was an American writer and professor of biochemistry at Boston University. Asimov was a prolific writer who wrote or edited more than 500 books and an estimated 90,000 letters and postcards. Asimov coined the term “robotics” Karel Čapek, a Czech…

Isaac Asimov’s Foundation Season 2 teaser
Tumblr media
Apple TV+ has shared a teaser trailer for Foundation Season 2 and announced that the first episode will premiere on July 14 A hundred-year time jump. That’s what we’re contending with when Foundation returns to Apple TV+ in July. The massive timeline suits the scale of the show, which stars Lee Pace (in an increasingly dramatic series of costumes) as one of a trio of clone emperors whose time has long since come. The synopsis for the coming season is very dramatic:   More than a century after the season one finale, tension mounts throughout the galaxy in Foundation season two. As the Cleons unravel, a vengeful queen plots to destroy Empire from within. Hari, Gaal and Salvor discover a colony of Mentalics with psionic abilities that threaten to alter psychohistory itself. The Foundation has entered its religious phase, promulgating the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire. The monumental adaptation of Foundation chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity. Foundation also stars Jared Harris, Lou Llobell, and Leah Harvey; the returning cast includes Laura Birn (as a conflicted android), Cassian Bilton, and Terrence Mann. Season two introduces a whole new pile of characters, as seems inevitable when we’re jumping a century into the future: Ben Daniels (Bel Riose), Kulvinder Ghir (Poly Verisof), Rachel House (Tellem Bond), Nimrat Kaur (Yanna Seldon), Isabella Laughland (Brother Constant), Dimitri Leonidas (Hober Mallow), Holt McCallany (Warden Jaegger Fount), and Ella-Rae Smith (Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion). Foundation, which is co-created and show run by David S. Goyer, returns with weekly episodes beginning July 14th on Apple TV. Read the full article

I used to feel guilty for not having read every book on my shelves and having a never-ending, always expanding TBR. But I have come to realize that I buy books like I buy food. With the intent to consume but always too much and more than I can afford. Books and stories are sustenance. They give me life and are here to be savored and enjoyed at leisure. Sometimes I binge, sometimes I fast, but it’s never a race or a competition.
I’m, nowadays, looking at books more like pieces of art. I keep them on a shelf, I look at them and love them. Sometimes I take them down and read a few pages, sometimes I devour them whole. And this is okay. There is no shame here.
I think it’s important to realize, accept, and embrace that there will never be enough time to read all of the things you planned on reading. Or seeing. Or hearing. We can only go with our guts, and consume what brings us joy (or fear, or sadness, ya know as art does).
Sustainability in books is a topic that is entwined with this and I wish to come back to. So, this is a pin in this conversation. I do not currently have the spoons and my four cats need to eat XD
The absolutely stunning cover illustration is by the amazingly talented Peter Andrew Jones
