Dolores: Yeah, but are you shuffling?
Julieta: What language are you two speaking?
*In a horror movie situation with the Madrigal grandkids*
Y/n: Does anyone have a phone?
Antonio: I don't have a phone.
Dolores: I've got no service in my phone here.

Luisa: AHHH!!! *runs away to avoid spoilers*
Y/N: Bye Pepa! Bye Dolores! Bye Camilo! Bye Mirabel! Bye Pepa!
Isabela: You said ‘bye Pepa’ twice.
Y/N: I like Pepa :)
Isabela : ugh, my neck is sore!
(Y/N) : that's not good, do you want me to—
Isabela : kiss it? Yes, please.
Isabela Madrigal had loved you for as long as she could remember. The threat of losing you to someone else troubles her and she is faced with a decision that would be an end or a beginning.
Isabela Madrigal was many things. Beautiful, flawless, perfect. She could have every thing or anyone she'd ever wanted if only she would ask. Men and women alike were at her beck and call. Though only one person had managed to capture her heart as well as her gaze.
Her eyes were only on (Name) Fierro, the daughter of the town’s equally eccentric painter, Pinto Fierro.
Her bestest friend. She sighed softly, following the rebuilding of Casita, her abuela had lessened the massive amount of pressure on her, apologizing for having her uphold her perfect image as well as matching her with Mariano when she had only agreed to it for the family’s sake. She was free to love whoever she had wanted, her abuela had said. She would no longer meddle with her life.
Free to love whoever she wanted. The words rang in her head.
Just like any girl, she dreamed a love like her parents, Julieta and Agustin had. The longing gazes, the soft sweet smiles, and the kisses that were only witnessed by the heavens. She was now free to get that love from anyone. And yet..
What if she had only wanted you? You with the smile that had surpassed the sun in lighting up her whole world, you with the eyes she could always get lost in, you with the laughter like ringing bells?
After Casita had been rebuilt, a massive celebration was held in the casa. Partly as thanks for the townspeople in helping them rebuild their home as well as celebrating new beginnings after the tumultuous days that occurred.
She pursed her lips upon seeing you in the center of the crowd, dancing and twirling around in a pretty dress, a smudge of paint against your smooth freckled cheek, and that damn smile stretched upon your lips.
Surely you were aware of how her heart sped up around you? Surely you were aware of her longing gazes that flutter from your eyes to those kissable lips?
“..Bela..” A dreamy sigh left her lips as she thought of kissing you.
“..Sabela..” Holding you close.
“Isabela..!” Her eye twitched.
She snapped out of her dreamland, vines wrapping around the person who was calling her.
“What!?” She turned around, annoyed, she was having a good daydream and it was all ruined by Mirabel who placed a thumb under her own chin.
“I’m sensing you’re upset.” Such an empath.
Isabela calmed down and grumbled at her little sister, continuing to look at your direction before glancing at Mirabel who had a shit-eating grin on her face. “You like Señorita Fierro, don’t you?”
Her cheeks heated up and she quickly looked around, afraid that anyone had heard before huffing at Mirabel. “No, I don’t, estúpida.” She denies vehemently, looking away from her annoying little sister.
“Oh, I see..” Mirabel gasped dramatically , pointing at a random direction. “Isabela, look, it’s (Name)!”
The eldest of the two had gasped, quickly turning to the direction she pointed at whilst fixing herself. “Where?!” She exclaims.
The younger Madrigal only stifled a laugh before full on bursting with laughter, slapping her knee. She gasped, falling on her back as she howled with laughter. Isabela, on the other hand, was raging. She quickly wrapped her vines around her sister. “Why I oughta..!” Mirabel wheezed as her vines constricted around her before quieting down, glancing at the girl that captured her older sister’s hard.
“You really like her, aren’t you?” Isabela was about to say something before she sighed, shaking her head. She leaned against one of Casita’s pillars and stared at you. “Maybe.” She murmurs as she mirrored your smile whilst she danced.
“Is it truly okay for you to just be like this though? On the outside looking in (Name’s) life?” Mirabel asked after a while.
“What do you know about love, Mira?” Came Isabela’s exasperated sigh, knuckles turning white as she saw you being eyed by a few bachelors and bachelorettes in your vicinity, each one’s gaze stuck onto you like flies on a Venus flytrap.
“Maybe not a lot but if you keep just standing here, you can kiss (Name) goodbye.” Mirabel pushed her green-rimmed glasses up, observant eyes noticing the men and the women that were staring at the person that her sister was clearly enamored with.
The thought of losing you crossed Isabela’s mind a lot more times than her Papá Agustin getting into an accident. Which was a lot. A whole lot. And every time she thought of you getting whisked away by someone that was not her? She had almost always pushed the thought down, always putting the thought of confessing to you for another day. Though as one of the people that watched you had approached, she couldn’t take it anymore. She was free and she was taking advantage of this freedom.
She pushed herself off from the pillar she had leant on. Do or die. Do or die. She can’t let you slip away from her fingers.
“(Name)..” She stammered out your name. Oh Dios. Oh Santamaria. Her cheeks felt warm and she had hoped she still looked presentable as she had shot the woman who tried to converse with you a snarky but still beautiful glare.
“Hola, (Name)..” She bats here eyelashes prettily as she was face to face with you.
“Hola, Bela.” You beam at the eldest Madrigal grandchild, clearing your throat a little.
Bela. Beautiful. Isabela knows it’s just a nickname but did that stop her from thinking that you called her beautiful? No. You wanna hear it in Spanish? No.
“Do you want to dance with me?” Boy you got her helpless and normally she would accept the request in a heartbeat but not right now. Not now that she mustered up the courage.
She gently shook her head before taking your hand in hers. “Maybe later?” She offers with one of her sweet smiles. “I want to talk to you about something.” The warmth on her cheeks increased as she led you away from the roaring crowd and out of Casita where it was more quiet.
You followed closely, curious as to what the Isabela Madrigal wanted to talk to you about. Try as she may to calm down, acacia blossoms sprouted on the top of her hair, all white except for one which had your favorite color. You gently reached up and Isabela had half-expected for you to pick off the intruding flower but rather you gently admired it, fingers gliding over the delicate petals.
“Are you alright, mi amiga?” Your voice was oh so soft as you looked at her, brows knitted in worry and she willed herself to not just kiss you there and then.
Though she halted as the word ‘amiga’ echoed in her mind. That word. Amiga. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the ground, pursing her lips. Was that all she was to you? She bit her lower lip.
“Isabela?” The call of her name pushed her out of her thoughts and before she knew it she had faced you, eyes filled with determination and a slight hint of anxiety. No longer could she keep it in. No longer could she push it down. No longer could she be on the outside looking in.
She took in a deep breath. “I want to tell you something.. something I’ve been wanting to tell you for ages.” Sensing her anxiety, you gave her hand a squeeze.
“Go on, mi amiga. I’ll listen.” There it was again. That word.
“(Name), darling, you’re my best friend.” She starts off, cursing herself silently as she stammered over simple words. “But there’s a few things that you don’t know of.” She continues, casting her gaze down at the flowers and plants that bloomed at her feet.
“I wanna ruin our friendship.” Isabela squeezed your hand in hers, taking a deep breath in to will herself to look at you, her gaze yearning and loving. “We should be lovers instead.. for too long I have kept my feelings for you under wraps but I cannot hide it forever. Te quiero, Te amo, (Name). I love you."
Her hands trembled and as the last syllable of her sentences left her lips, she wished she could take them back in once again. Her lower lip trembled as fresh tears poured from her beautiful eyes.
She would’ve laughed at herself right now. Señorita Perfecta, crying? Her? Isabela Madrigal? That was absurd. But she was. Dread crept in her heart and the hammering against her chest made her feel like she was going deaf. Were you disgusted by her? Had you not felt the same way? Had her confession ruin what the two of you had?
“Lo siento, I shouldn’t have.. I didn’t mean to..” She quickly said. She should have kept it in. She should’ve just kept quiet. And now she may lose you, the love of her life and her dearest friend. She hiccupped. “Please, do not leave me, even if you do not feel the same I..”
The tears that cascaded down her cheeks were caught by your soft thumbs, swiped away before they could even run down the rest of her face freely. You took her face in your warm palms and only smiled, your own cheeks warm and hurting from smiling so much.
“If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, mi flor, I could walk in that garden forever for my heart beats for you and you only, Isabela Madrigal.”
She lifted her gaze up to fully look at you, taking in your features that were far more beautiful than any of the flowers or plants she bloomed gracefully. And she swore your eyes had taken all the words she wished to say out of her lips.
Instead she had leaned close, pressing her lips against yours, hoping that her actions were enough to convey what she cannot say.

Isabela x Fem!reader
We love Lesbian Isabela
It's comes out of nowhere, after Casita was rebuilt. The eldest grandchild of the familia Madrigal have a secret admirer.
Isabela would be lying if she said that the letters she receives didn't leave her heart beating faster than Antonio's pets.
Everyday, the young lady will receive an envelope that lingers with a rosy scent. Sometimes the letters contains drawings of sundews or cacti and other flower, sometimes a poem, it was overall sweet but the only problem was it always left unsigned.
She knew that Mariano is not the one who made it since He is already with her prima, and He's not really the type of guy who can draw, he can do poetry but won't be subtle about it. So it left her thinking who is the mystery person who sends all the letters to her.
Just like any other day, another letter has been sent to the Casita's doorstep, addressed to the same girl, and just like the every letter, it doesn't say who is it from.
To my Flower:
"When I Met You"
Since the time I met you,
I am not being me,
Wherever I go, whatever I know,
It's you that I only see,
You are in my heart,
You have enter my life,
Can't think of a life without you,
Love me the way like I do,
Or else I won't survive
'Coz I really do,
A love confession, It leaves Isabela flustered by the words. She can't stop her feelings after what she just read, now she really needs to find the mystery person, Her mystery person.
Yes! I love you
To say that Isabela went full on detective mode was an understatement. She ask a lot of people, including Dolores, if ever her cousin hear someone said about having a crush on her.
"Isabela, almost every men and women in the encanto are fawning over you, you need to be more specific" was the reply she got from her prima.
It was almost dinner time now, yet Isabela have still no clue on who's the person she now has feelings for.
Losing hope she made her way back to the casita, head low and exhaustion is present on her face.
She kept thinking about how all her effort to find the person she's been looking for went to nothing that she didn't realise a person in rush was running towards her.
They bumped into each other resulting to them to fall on the ground, Isabela looks at the girl only to find it was Y/n. The girl she used to have a big fat crush when she was with Mariano, she still does, but she's just distracted by the mystery person.
Isabela quickly gets up and helps Y/n to stand up. Isabela asked if she was okay but Y/n have already sprinted before she gets an answer.
She brush off the dirt from her skirt, inspecting if there are spots she missed until she lay her eyes upon the ground to see a letter.
Y/n must've dropped it, was her thought. Isabela picked the letter up and then it hits her.
The familiar rosy scent, the same colored envelope, and the same handwriting. Upon connecting the dots, Flowers sprouted on Isabela's head and blush across her cheeks.
Y/n is her mystery person!
Y/N IS MY MYSTERY PERSON!
She ran to find the girl of that kept her awake for night after night just by her choice of words.
After running for how long, she spotted the familiar (h/c) girl on the bridge.
"Y/n!" Isabela shouted enough to make the said girl's head turn to her.
Immediately Isabela went for a hug, and spun the girl of her dreams around. Meanwhile Y/n was left flabbergasted at how the events unfolded.
"I-Isa? what happened?" Y/n stammers, she still can't process what's happening.
Isabela got a big smile on her face and suddenly blurted out...
"I Love you Y/n L/n! I love you so much, you kept me awake every night. Those letters you sent me left me wondering who is the one that writes those colorful words, then I realize it's you. I truly love you"
This left Y/n more speechless, she knows know. The girl she loves returns her feelings. She didn't say anything but crashed her lips to the Madrigal, and she accepts it.
"I love you" Isabela repeated "but, why are you not signing the letters you sent?"
This leaves Y/n confused "I didn't sign them? So that's why you never give me an answer. I thought you didn't get the letters so that's why I kept sending more"
They both laugh at the silly mistake. Now Isabela can be at peace. She finally found her mystery.
Omg i love the camilo, dolores and isabela with a s/o who's mute, can you make one where their s/o talks for the first time and how they would react hearing their s/o voice for the first time?? Thanks! :))
Pairings: Camilo Madrigal x GN Reader, Dolores Madrigal x GN Reader and Isabela Madrigal x GN Reader
Synopsis: Camilo, Dolores, and Isabela hear their mute s/o's voice for the first time
Taglist: @doloreshearsyou @fairytale-writes @jjk-ily @dai-tsukki-desu @maximuscofi @el-1-jah @onthr-dream @kenzi-woycehoski @ais-little-teacorner @maileylikesducks @whyyarewehere @ynfromencanto2430 @sunnth
It all started with camilo mentioning your voice and joking about if you talked and you thought that it would be nice to respond in your actual voice
But, you didn't just talk because camilo asked because he literally asks you to talk or what your voice sounds like all the time and because you've been mute for a long time and you weren't just going to break that vow because he asked, you actually thought about it for a while
When I tell you camilo was shocked when you spoke, he literally questioned if there was a ghost in his room or not but when he realized that it was you, he hugged you and told you how much he loved your voice
He literally loved your voice and asked you to talk more but if you weren't going to speak around anyone else then that's fine because whenever he wants to hear your voice, he can just drag you to a secluded area
You and camilo were chilling in his room together and just enjoying each other's presence while you two sat on the floor and camilo had his head in your lap as you brushed through his curly brown hair, he had purposely tangled his hair just so you could brush it.
You looked at Camilo's pajamas that sat beside you and you tapped Camilo's shoulder as you set the brush down making him look back at you and you signed "Cami, do you have pajamas to throw them on the floor or to just look at them because every time I come over here they're on the floor" and it took camilo a bit to realize what you said because he's not that good as reading and understanding it as he is when it comes to speaking it.
Camilo chuckled a bit "I do wear them, they're just not my favorite." Camilo explained making you chuckle a tiny bit and camilo then thought of something "What if you just randomly responded to me with your voice like I'd probably shit myself out of surprise." Camilo said as he turned his entire body around to face you which made him lay on his stomach "Well, that would be quite a surprise." You said making him freeze and look you in the eye, he looked around the room to make sure that no one else was there because he didn't believe that it was you speaking but then when he realized it was you, he looked back at you and he shifted into you then back into himself.
He then grinned and hugged you "Aw, your voice is so cute!" He yelled as he hugged you tightly making you chuckle at his actions as he sat up to hug you fully and not just your torso "Your voice truly did almost make me shit myself though." He whispered in your ear making you burst out laughing while camilo snuggled into your shoulder "But talk more! I like your voice!" He yelled as he smothered your face with kisses "Okay okay! That tickles!" You yelled as you laughed from the tickling feeling of Camilo's lips pressing every inch of your face.
Dolores always hears everything so she's always prepared when someone wants to tell her something but she was not prepared for this, she didn't hear you debating whether you should or not because she can't hear your thoughts
When you spoke, dolores literally froze and dropped the basket of fruit she was holding because she literally couldn't believe her ears for the first time ever
It started when you two were picking fruit from an apple tree and she was asking did you think that they were ripe, she expected you to sign an answer but instead, you said an answer with your actual voice
Dolores loved your voice so much and would ask you to talk so that she could hear it or even whisper it, everytime you go to sleep, you whisper a small "Goodnight mi amor' for dolores because you know that she can hear you and because you love to wish her goodnight and before you were never able to tell her with your voice
If you're not comfortable with talking around other people then that's fine too! She'll just settle for your whispers because even whispers are loud for her, it's just as good!
Dolores and you were just looking up at the apple tree observing the apples to see if they had any worms in them "Do you think that they're ripe?" Dolores asked as she picked one of the branches and looked closely at the shiny red apple. you hummed as you looked at the apples "Yeah, they do." You said as you picked off an apple and dropped it in the basket full of pears, oranges, and other types of fruits.
Dolores froze and dropped the apple on the green grass that had a few flowers spread out in the field, the apple rolled down the hill you two were on as dolores squeaked as she slowly turned her head to face you "What'd you say?" She asked you as she pursed her cherry red lips together.
You turned your head to face her as you halted your apple-picking "I said, yeah, they look ripe." You said as you chuckled a bit and dolores grinned and she kissed your cheek leaving a red kiss mark on your cheek "Your voice is so nice." Dolores said as she chuckled a bit "Though, you almost gave me a heart attack." Dolores said as she put a hand over her chest as she let out a deep breath making you chuckle more.
When I tell you that you almost died because of how shocked isabela was, she grew spiky plants and carnivorous plants around you because she was so caught off guard
Though it wasn't like she didn't like your voice, she loved it but she didn't expect you to talk, and just like camilo, she didn't even think it was you
Isabela loves your voice so much and likes to hear you talk about many things especially when you talk about your day while she's making flower crowns and flower necklaces for you
If you don't feel comfortable talking around anyone else then that's fine, she'll just take you to a secluded area or to her room so she can hear your voice or so you two can talk
It started with you and isabela growing flowers and plants in her room when you asked isabela what was one of the flowers she grew and she was about to answer but then she realized that you said that and not someone else
Isabela and you were just chilling in her room, you were sitting on one of her flower and vine strings while she sat on one beside you while she grew flowers beneath both of your feet "Hey isa, what's that plant?" You asked as you pointed at the bleeding hearts that she had just grown over your head "Oh those are bleeding hear-" She said but she cut herself off as she had to make sure that she had heard you and not someone else.
Isabela looked at you with confusion written all over her face then she looked around to see if anyone else was there before looking back at you with the same confusion on her face "Was that you?" She asked as you chuckled a bit at her reaction "Yeah, it was me." You said and isabela froze and stared at you with blank eyes making you laugh more but then the swing you were on came undone as isabela grew yuccas, agaves, cactuses, and different spiky plants along with carnivorous plants underneath the both of you.
Your eyes widened as you started to fall from the air but luckily you two were pretty high in the air so you didn't fall on the ground immediately "Isabela!" You yelled out making isabela snap out of her thoughts and look down at you, she hurried and removed the spiky and carnivorous plants and replaced them with a giant sunflower to catch you, you landed safely on the sunflower as isabela hopped off her swing with only her hand resting on one of the vines as she lowered herself to the sunflower.
Isabela sat next to you on the flower "Mi amor, I'm so sorry, you just caught me off guard is all." Isabela said kissing your cheek as you dusted the pollen from the sunflower off your clothes "It's fine, I would've been shocked too." You said as you leaned on her shoulder with a small smile "Your voice is (beautiful/handsome), talk more, please? I'm not gonna drop you this time." Isabela said as she smothered your face with more kisses as she grabbed your hands, at least you knew that she almost killed you because she liked your voice and not because she hated it.
Someone to Y/N: Is she your girlfriend, girlfriend? or y'all just talking?
Y/N: 'Oh gosh here it comes'
Isabela: bitch if I kill you, are you dead, dead? or just not breathing?
Fall For You ✨
Camilo Madrigal x clumsy! ❤️ reader
You exhaled in contentment. The day was just beautiful. You put a hand over your forehead as you looked up at the sky, admiring it. Not cloudy or gloomy yet not too hot. It was perfect. Your steps were elegant as you walked beside Isa, she kept talking about how she'd been practicing to make structures out of tree bark when-
Woah... there he went again. Walking with an admirable posture as per usual. Confidently striding while keeping his sights straight ahead as he held a mango ice cream on his right hand. He looked so- "Y/N CAREFUL!" you heard Isa yell alarmed but it was too late. You were already on your way to kiss the floor. It seemed you'd tripped over a small pile of bricks. "Agh Luisa!" you complained inside your head.
"Owww!" An embarrassed whine escaped from your mouth as you lifted your head to rub your cheek before placing both hands on the ground weakly, trying to stand up. It stung. You definitely drew blood this time...
Watching where you were going got incredibly hard whenever Camilo passed by. It just seemed as if your surroundings became astoundingly boring and he was a glowing neon sign. You cursed at yourself mentally. This wasn't the first time this had happened.
As you turned your head to the spot he was walking by before your embarrassing fall, you only saw the mango ice cream lay in the floor. Abandoned and melting. Weird.... he must've dropped it then?
"Y/N! Are you ok?! Does it hurt?" You turned your head to the side to find a very worried Camilo. "Uhh I think I'm fine... You- dropped your ice cream," you answered sheepishly, not used to the attention. "Nevermind that," he waved his hand dismissively.
"Look at that huge scratch on your cheek! Let's go with my tía right now! She'll help!" He brushed his fingertips close to the wound. It burned again and your reflexes made you pull away--against your will--wincing. "Sorry! Sorry I- Come on," without saying another word he grabbed your hand and guided you to Casita.
Isabela followed close behind the both of you without saying anything. She was going to help you get up but she saw Camilo running to you and was curious to see how he would react to the situation. She wasn't an idiot. It was clear he had something to do with your recurring accidents.
Squinting her eyes, she watched the scene in front of her attentively. Camilo whispered to your ear "You're sure it doesn't hurt that bad?" and, fretting at his proximity, you quickly shook your head in a denying manner.
As soon as you took a step forward, your legs betrayed you, getting wobbly. Camilo noticed your obvious stumble. His eyebrows furrowed in concern and he reached for you before placing your arm over his shoulder, offering support in case there was any pain on your legs. He seemed so gentle and she'd never seen him display any care with anyone else. "Huhh," she said to herself and made mental note. She was definitely going to do something about it.
It was right after you made a bowl of baked sweet potatoes fall to the ground, while you took a bite out of a roasted corn on the cob her mom had given you, that she pinched the area in between her brows in second hand embarrassment. Why exactly did you drop them? Well, Camilo got close to your face--a bit too close actually--to ask if you felt better and admire your wound closing up.
Your eyes widened and you tried to get a hold of yourself before you face-planted again, already feeling your knees buckle. As you reached for the table, you miscalculated and hit the bowl instead. The sweet potatoes went flying before falling with several thuds.
Isabela thought this was the last straw. This row of misfortunes had been going on for far too long now and you hadn't even made a move yet. It was getting painful to watch you pine over her primo and get hurt. Literally hurt in fact.
What if next time you fell on her cacti or on her carnivorous sundews? That would be so much more disastrous and she couldn't let her good friend suffer any longer. Your demise wouldn't be on her. She'd do you a favor.
You just needed a little push. If Dolores was telling the truth last weekend, when she said she heard Camilo's heartbeat get faster as soon as your name was mentioned in conversation, then it was safe to say he liked you as well. Plus, his concern with you was another obvious sign.
This had to end today.
Right after she heard her tía Pepa call Camilo, he hesitatingly left your side and she took the opportunity to start talking. "I think the reason why you keep falling over and over starts with a C and ends with amilo," Isa sung tauntingly.
That statement took you by surprise. "What?," You scoffed and, trying to act convincing, made a fake confused expression. "No way! Tsk- that- I don't even know where you got the idea," you turned your attention towards the warm piece of corn on your hand. You couldn't look her in the eye. If you did, you would falter and she would definitely figure it out!
"I meaaan last month at the bakery, you dropped the last strawberry cupcake- you know...the one you said you were dying to try? As soon as Camilo walked in, it mysteriously fell from your hand AND the other day, you slipped on a puddle beside the fountain when Camilo sat down across from us on that bench," You opened your mouth to respond but she continued.
"OH and don't forget about the other day when you literally almost broke your ankle because you heard him hum that stupid love song you like so much since you said it reminded you of someone. Could that be h-" You cut her off before she could continue saying that out loud. Was she really confronting you about this?
"ISABELAA! Stop! What are you even- That makes no sense I mean-" You waved your hands in front of her. You were mortified. If it wasn't for your bad luck then maybe it wouldn't have been so painfully obvious.
"I'm just saying. It can't be a coincidence..." She said nonchalantly.
"I agree Y/N. I mean there's definitely a pattern going on here," Mirabel added as she walked towards you. A knowing smirk on her face as she calmly stirred a steaming cup of infused tea. She thought this was getting very interesting.
Yes, she loved you and you were close friends but she was on the same page with Isa. This pining issue needed to be resolved. For your sake. "Could my primo be the cause of your clumsiness?" She raised her eyebrows in a playful manner.
"What do you like about him? Oooh do you think he's cute?" Isa teased smiling widely.
"What? No!" You blurted. This couldn't be happening. It's so embarrassing- WHAT IF THEY TOLD HIM? "No! Keep your cool," You thought to yourself and tried to put on a calm face. "Ok just- deep breaths."
"So you don't?" She asked whilst raising her brows as she waited for confirmation. You were speechless and she tilted her head, pretending to be confused.
"Well I do but-" You blurted before thinking but realized you couldn't find more excuses. After all, they were right. It was inevitable for them to find out. They were your friends and you couldn't realistically deny it--in a way they'd believe you--at this point. You'd basically already confessed. "Yes," you sighed.
The sound of glass shattering turned your attention elsewhere. You heard Camilo choke on his drink and start coughing. As you turned around, you saw his static frame close by. You took in his expression. Mouth agape, eyes opened wide and pupils dilated. He stood beside... DOLORES!
She whispered something to him and fled the scene when she saw your panicked reaction. "She definitely told him." As Camilo stopped coughing, finally managing to gain control of his voice, he took a few steps forward. You couldn't back away now.
It was time to face the music.
"Is- is that true Y/N?" He stammered. He felt the electrifying hope blooming slowly inside his soul. You had never seen him this nervous. Ask anyone and they'd easily confirm he was always confident.
"Yeah... Sorry," You knitted your eyebrows feeling uneasy as you waited for the most likely outcome in your mind. You don't think you can handle a rejection- not from him. You wouldn't be able to look him in the eye afterwards.
"Why are you apologizing?" He laughed scrunching his nose in amazement. "This is great!" You tilted your head and looked to the sides puzzled as he raised his arms in victory. You saw Isabela and Mirabel smirking before setting your eyes on him once again.
"I can tell you have no idea but- Look I-" He stuttered as he tried to explain himself. "I swear it was eating me alive- here I was beating myself up because- because I thought you weren't even interested. Not a little bit," he breathed relieved and grabbed your hands.
"I can finally ask you... would you go out with me? Please?" You stood dumbstruck and speechless for a few seconds. You swore you couldn't form words. He noticed your hesitation but decided to keep going.
Camilo was set on convincing you. "I can kneel down if you want," he motioned bending his knee and before you could stop him to say that wasn't necessary, he slipped on the surprisingly wide puddle from the drink he'd spilt a few moments before.
Your reflexes listened for the first time ever. You quickly reached for his torso and wrapped an arm around it before managing to grab his hand for support. The position made you both look like a couple about to dance.
"Would you look at that? Delightful change of events," He chuckled before winking. "It's my turn to fall for you," He got closer and your noses were touching. You blushed deeply at the nearness. You'd never been this close before.
"See! That wasn't so hard now was it?" You heard Isabela exclaim loudly, making everyone around you turn their focus to the both of you. You were still in the same position, feeling unable to move away...
nor wanting to.
"What'd I miss?" You heard Luisa's voice ask Isa and she motioned to you both. "Ohh! Yes Y/N get some!" Luisa cheered shaking her fist in celebration. You scrunched your nose embarrassed but couldn't stop the satisfied smile appear on your face at the way everything had played out.
Camilo broke into a fit of laughter at his prima's remark before holding you closer with genuine pride.
Author's note: Another day, another fluff. Probably gonna upload a very fluffy one or a slight angst and fluff one next week. 🌹
I gotta say, making the emoji Camilo pic was fun but I couldn't decide which emojis fit better and I changed it so many times lol

hey my dude, could i request hc on being childhood friends to lovers with Isabela, with y/n being the opposite of her? like y/n is a troublemaker and rebellious? thanks in advance
Childhood friends to lovers with Isabela!
ooo i like this idea! I just opened up my requests to writing romantically for more encanto characters and i’ve had this in my asks for a while! sorry it took me so long to get to it :)
As children, you and Isabela were scolded by the encanto’s matriarch basically every other day.
You always led her into doing rebellious things even if you didn’t mean to. It just happened.
When Isabela got her gift and had to uphold the “perfect” image, she forced herself to spend less and less time with you, even if it was something she didn’t want.
She never forgot about those little chats the both of you used to have though. You guys would always say that you two would be together forever and get married.
Thinking back on it, Isabela thought it was silly but a part of her really did want to be with you.
Isabela also remembered how her Abuela almost banned the two of you from ever hanging out again. Reminiscing on how upset the two of you were brought a smile to her face. Your whiny voices begging to stay together and the two of you hugging to signify you’d never separate made her heart melt.
Of course she would still invite you to hang out from time to time, behind her grandmother’s back. And you somehow still led her into trouble. If you got caught, it was always blamed on poor Camilo.
Whenever Isa would hesitate go against the rules, you’d tell her to “live a little” and that being bad was a part of growing up.
If you guys got lost somewhere in the jungle though, Dolores always had your back. She would find you guys and take you back without getting caught.
Same thing with getting hurt. Julieta always slid the both of you some arepas before you guys left. The woman always made sure you two would never get caught.
Julieta was helping because she knew what it was like to be the golden child, incapable of being able to be a kid because of the harsh expectation placed upon her.
You and Isa always asked Dolores to join you as well, but she always claimed that it wasn’t for her. In reality, she noticed how the both of your heartbeats would synchronize when you were together or when they would race when a relationship of any kind was mentioned.
One of the things you’d do was go outside of town, on the outskirts of the encanto, and tend to your secret garden. You and Isa planted plants there, without using her power and you two slowly watched them grow together.
During her periodic visits, you guys would always end up in a dirt fight (you started it every time) and you would have to hose Isabela down afterwards. It was hilarious.
The way your laugh echoed in the girl’s ears made her smile. You never noticed the loving gazes she gave you and she never noticed the loving gazes you gave her.
Every night without fail, you would stand outside Casita, hoping that Isa would somehow know you were there and come out and you could finally tell her how you felt.
She obviously had no idea that you were outside her home, otherwise she would have come running.
Little did you know, every night in bed, she wished that you would call out her name and ask her to run away with you.
She would accept without a second thought, wanting to be selfish for once and leave everything behind.
When she was out in town, you’d occasionally have little chats with her about random things, just an an excuse to talk to her.
God her smile, it always had your heart fluttering tenfold. You were praying she didn’t notice the amount of times you looked at her lips.
Isa always grew a mini sunflower and tucked it behind your ear everytime she saw you. The girl told you that you were the only constant thing in her life, “my sunflower, I adore you” she’d always say.
This always made you blush in one way or another. You thought she was just being kind because she knew you for so long and it was okay to be sappy and stuff. But you couldn’t have been more wrong, and thank god you were, because you loved her too.
You wanted all the things you guys used to say as kids, to come true. Who cares if people say that you were too rebellious to be with such a perfect girl? It didn’t matter, because you loved her and wanted to marry her, just like you both always said.
One day, when you two were on the outskirts, at the top of a mini cliff, looking for more plants for your secret garden you decided that it was now or never, because you didn’t think you’d have this much courage again.
You took let out a sigh before starting “Isa?” you asked.
“Yeah” she responded, studying the butterfly that landed on her hand before she raised it, allowing it to fly away.
Without warning you asked her “What if we just got married like we always said we would when we were kids?” You watched the girl, curious of her reaction.
Her head snapped towards you and a light blush formed on her cheeks “W-what are you saying?” the girl asked.
“What I’m saying is that I love you” you told her, your heart racing “I’ve loved you since we were kids and not a day goes by that I don’t think about how much you mean to me.”
You were so afraid, this could change your relationship with your best friend forever if she didn’t reciprocate your feelings.
The thought of losing her was so frightening but it was worse to love this girl in silence and watch her find someone else.
Isabela inched closer to you “And if you don’t feel the same way I totally understand it’s just that I-” you were cut off by the close proximity of your lips. She placed both of her hands on your shoulders as she pulled you close.
You felt her warm breath on your lips as she looked into your eyes.
“I… love you too” she said, scanning your features before closing the distance.
You ran your fingers through her soft, silky hair as you two melted into the kiss you waiting for your entire lives.
When the girl finally pulled away, you saw her smiling to herself, cheeks tinted pink. You returned her smile, until she spoke.
“What took you so long?” she asked, locking eyes with you.
“You know, you could’ve said something first” you told her raising your eyebrows.
“Yeah but I made it sooo obvious! I even gave you a special flower every day! You know I don’t do that for anyone” Isabela looked away as she scoffed, crossing her arms.
The girl looked back at you before continuing “But I’m happy that I can finally say it now.”
“Say what?” you asked, cocking an eyebrow.
“Say that… I LOVE YOU” she turned away from you and yelled into the distance, her voice echoing from the top of the cliff into the entire encanto. You didn’t know if people would hear it, and it didn’t matter anyway. You loved her too much to care.
You laughed in response before joining her. You guys continued repeating the same phrase over and over until your throats hurt from screaming and your stomachs hurt from laughing. It was just like old times.
“So is that a yes?” you asked “To my proposal? Will you marry me?”
Isabela smiled, nodding as she took your hand softly and placed sunflower seeds in it “Yes… I’d like that very much.”
A few months later when the candleholder, Alma Madrigal asked Isabela if she found any marriage candidates, she presented you.
The whole reveal of the perfect girl marrying the rebel was messy, but that was a story for another time.
Alma: You four, explain right now!
Isabela: It was Camilo.
Luisa: It was Camilo.
Dolores: It was Camilo.
Isabela : hey, (Y/N)?
(Y/N), waking up : yeah? What happened?
Isabela : uhh, do you still like me?
(Y/N) : Isabela, Mi Amor, it's 3 AM and i'm married to you—
Isabela : yeah, i know - but as friends in benefits or material wife?

The air is heavy with silence, the weight of it almost too much for your shoulder to bear. Not entirely silent, you can still hear the calming water trickling from Isabela’s pond. You can still hear her soft breathing in sync with yours. And you can still hear your heart breaking and thumping within your chest while looking down at the beautiful flooring made of rose petals of different shades and shapes. Your eyes are wide, tears stinging your tear ducts and a stinging moving through every nerve inside of your numb body.
“Mi flor…please say something…” Isabela’s soft voice pleads from beside you. When her hand tries to reach for your clutching the fabric of your skirt, you roughly pull it away and stand from the soft bed. Facing her surprised expression, your own surprised expression hardens into one of pure hurt and disbelief.
“You knew about it for the past three days and you decided to tell me the day before he’s going to propose?” You question with a taut voice and low volume, hands balling up at your sides. A hotness is filling your body yet somehow you feel ice cold. The beautiful flower in front of you stands up, her big doe eyes the most beautiful shade of brown wide and soft lips parted. “W-Why would you hide this from me?” You ask, facing her and not even sparing a blink to look away from her.
She sighs out heavily, brushing her long ink black hair off of her shoulder. “I—I didn’t know how!” She exclaims with a shaking of her head. Her hands press against her stomach, thick but neat brows threaded upwards while holding your gaze. “I needed to adjust to it myself too. Mariano and I have barely spoken so excuse me if it was surprising.” Her voice holds a bit of attitude beneath the defensive tone.
Shifting on your shoes, your breathing grows a bit heavy. The feeling of your breaking heart washes a pain throughout your body. Your eyes search her guilty and hurt expression, beautiful features burned into your mind since the day you met her. Hot tears begin to blur your vision as a question begins to snake it’s way up your vocal cords. Inhaling deeply, you shudder and tremble. “Y—“ Your voice shakes. “You’re not going to say yes…right?”
Isabela’s brows rise in surprise, her lips parting. Soft brown eyes seem to search your firm and rigid features. She blinks back rapidly, tears beginning to well up in her eyes. “I—It’s complicated, mi amor, plea—“ The pieces of your heart cling desperately to your ribcage at her response. When she reaches out once more, you turn away and begin to storm down the rosey steps. “Y-Y/n! You can’t—“
Whipping around at the last step, you look up into her eyes. “What!” You shout so loud it makes her jump slightly, her expression wide-eyed and slack jawed, narrow shoulders raised with tenseness. Breathing heavily, you shake your head as the hot tears finally spill out and roll down your cheeks. “I c-can’t believe you. Y-You—I—augh!” Exclaiming in frustration, you step back. A huge lump forming in your throat and your mind racing a million miles a minute has your words tangling up and refusing to spill out.
“What do you expect me to do!” Isabela shouts back with tears rolling down her round cheeks. Stepping down the steps, she gestures to herself with her fingers pointing towards her chest. “I can’t just—just be who I want!” Her hand gestures towards the door. “My abuela has standards and if I don’t—“
“Bullshit!” You interrupt furiously, throwing your hands up. Those thick brows of her are furrowed downwards, lips parted with her own heavy breaths and fists balled at her sides. Staring her down, you snort while hot tears continue to stream down your cheeks and meet at your chin. “You could be who you want, Isabela. You’re just scared to be another Mirabel.” She visibly flinches, eyes wide.
“But guess what!” Once more you interrupt with a hard shake of your head. “Everyone still loves Mirabel! I love Mirabel, the town loves Mirabel, the family loves Mirabel! You just don’t want to lose your spot as Alma’s favorite, as her perfect little—“
“Mirabel doesn’t have a gift!” She shouts loud enough for you to flinch this time. With wide eyes, you hold her furious gaze as she steps towards you with angry and big hand gestures. Taking slow steps back, your chest heaves up and down with heavy breaths. “Don’t you get that? Mirabel has no expectations to reach! She hasn’t since that damn door disappeared at her hands. I don’t get that privilege!” Her voice is going hoarse, hot tears continuously rolling down her cheeks.
Scoffing, your eyes narrow. “You’re a coward.” You choke out with your bottom lip trembling and vision continuously going from blurry to clear with each rolling tear. Isabela’s eyes widen, her lips parting at your words. Flickering between her eyes, you swallow thickly and gesture to yourself. “Isa I love you more than life itself. How could you pick perfection? Three years together…If you meant every word you said about me being the most important thing in your life, your soulmate—if you really love me then pl—“
“Then I guess I don’t love you!”
Both of you recoil at her words. All the numbness, the pain in your body, the pieces of your heart clinging to your ribs—the pieces fall down into the pits of your stomach. Blinking back rapidly, your bottom lip trembles as your entire body shoots with a pain unlike anything you’ve ever felt before. Every burn, cut, scraped knee, fall, tumble—no pain you’ve felt before times a million could amount to what you feel now.
Isabela’s body is visibly trembling, her hand over her open mouth. She shakes her head and steps towards you, hand reaching out as a look of complete regret and guilt spread along her beautiful features. “Y/n I—“
She stops abruptly when your hand comes up. Blinking back rapidly while dropping your hand down, your mouth opens and closes with no words. So much pain, hurt, betrayal—so much washes through you as your mouth clamps shut. Lips forming into a thin line and eyes narrowed at hers. Hugging yourself, you swallow thickly and try to ignore the thorns that feel like they’re tearing through your skin from the inside out.
“I never want to see you again.” You harshly whisper before scoffing out with a bitter and fake smile spreading across your lips. Reaching into the small pocket of your skirt, you pull out a silver ring with a beautiful pink crystal as the stone. Tossing it roughly at her chest, her eyes go wide and she flinches. “Congratulations, Mrs.Guzmán.” Turning on your heel, you furiously wipe at your tears while storming off.
Mirabel’s words echo in your head.
“It isn’t going to end well, Y/n…”
You’re such an idiot.
Isabela Madrigal x fem!Reader
Summary: Isabela was never happy about the life that was promised to her, a perfect life. So in the midst of her pretentious facade a certain girl finally see through the mask she wears.
Or also known as my own version of Isabela's deleted scene that i promised to write a few weeks ago. Also she/her pronouns for both Isa and Y/n.
Ps: some scenarios happens pre-movie, during the movie and post-movie. Under the second red line, Isabela and Y/n are only 18. This is a new series.
Eversince she was brought into this world, there was one word that she grew to despise. PERFECT.
As the oldest and first grandchild of the "amazing" familia Madrigal. Isabela was thought to always strive for perfection, not let a single flaw should be seen, be a role model, show the people how great the Madrigals are!
The expectation just got worse when she got her gift. The gift of creation, where she can grow beautiful, symetrical and perfect flowers.
Perfect, just like what her Abuela wants everything to be.
Now she must carry the burden of being Señorita Perfecta, the beauty, the golden child, the one who do no wrong and the encanto's pride and image.
As her family grow, she grew to hate what she was supposed to be. The image that was given to her.
She can no longer handle being the perfect girl everyone seems to adore, she was at her breaking point, but she couldn't just stop being perfect.
What would her family think? What will the town folks will say? What would Abuela do to her?
"You are perfect Isabela Madrigal, make your family proud."
She kept telling to herself everytime she passes a mirror.
Just like any other day, Isabela kept growing beautiful flowers all across their casita and the village.
People would adore her. Young men would stop and admire her beauty, some even attempts to woe the girl and young women would love to be like her while some tries to put dirt on her name.
But, nonetheless, Isabela has to show kindness to everyone despite people's rude behaviors after all she has to be perfect.
"Oops, sorry señorita" a kid holding a mug bumps to her and spills it's contents to her skirt.
If Isabela wasn't a part of such honorable family, she would've said such mean words to the child, but she can't.
"It's okay hombrecito, be careful next time okay?" She smiles, something she perfected practicing.
Isabela then grew a bouquet of flowers and gave it to child before gesturing them to run along to their friends.
The folks start whispering how kind the oldest Madrigal kid was. The silent praises indicates that Isabela is doing her job right, if the word about this gets to her Abuela, she'll surely be proud of her.
Isabela continues her day, growing flowers and making sure everything is perfect.
Night time falls, and everybody went to sleep. The time where Isabela could let out all of her anger.
Whether she would be crying about how she couldn't handle being someone she doesn't want to be or just plainly screaming at her pillows and try growing something other than pretty flowers out of spite.
But then again, all efforts has gone to waste, the thought of being perfect has been embedded into her mind, restraining her from doing something imperfect.
So that's when Isabela decided to leave, not permanently, just a few hours being away from casita and the encanto, just a small break of not being somewhere that reminds her that she needs to be perfect.
And so she went on her merry way towards the mountains, with the help of her gift, she reaches a river far away from the village.
Isabela relaxes next to the water, finally a peace and quiet.
She felt like she finally got out from a cage, she starts doing little things her Abuela would get mad at her if she has done it, just like not sitting up straight or atleast lady-like.
She laughs at her attempts of not being the perfect child, at how silly her actions are. She finally felt true to herself.
Although her fun was then cut off as she heard rustling from where she has come from.
Immediately, Isabela fixes her position, straightening her back and sitting up right.
A young woman, looks like someone near her age then came into view. Isabela was in awe when she saw her.
The lady's beauty was shown as the moon light shines upon her face, Isabela couldn't help but feel her heart beat faster almost matching the pace of the waters on the river. No she can't be feeling this things, especially for a girl.
"Oh, I didn't know someone was here." The girl said as she saw Isabela
"W-well I was just uhh–" Isabela was out of words, she has been caught, there's no valid reason for her to be out here so late what would she do now?
Isabela's breathing started to become heavy and the girl immediately notices it.
"Woah calm down, If you just want to relax by the river then there's nothing wrong with that" the girl sat next to Isabela to comfort her.
"I just want to join, if that's okay?" The girl added. Isabela finally calms down and gave the girl a nod
An awkward silence envelopes the atmosphere as the both of them sat there.
"I'm Y/n L/n, you must be Isabela Madrigal right? Please to meet you" the girl then offers her hand for a handshake.
"The pleasure is mine" Isabela shook her hand and show again her practiced smile as the girl does the same.
The conversation dies down for a bit as Y/n looks at Isabela's facial features.
Isabela notices this and starts giving Y/n a confused look.
"Is there something wrong with my face?" Isabela politely asked.
"Nothing, it's just... you look pretty tensed, I mean you don't have to pretend to be perfect around me or anything–" Y/n was then cut off with a flower blooming right into her mouth.
"What?!" Isabela raises her voice, what does she mean that she is just pretending? No scratch that, how does she knows about her pretending.
"Hey, relax. I didn't mean to offend you or anything, I just want you to loosen up, you seem really stressed, sorry if I said something wrong" Y/n apologizes, Isabela also calm down.
"H-how can you say that I am just pretending?" Isabela's voice started shaking, panic arises inside of her
"I've seen you everytime in the plaza, you always seem to give people the same smile and well there are times where you let out some emotions that Doña Alma doesn't want the people to see from you." Y/n explains
This rendered Isabela speechless, someone finally saw through her perfect disguise, what if this girls tells her family about it?
"Don't tell this to my Abuela please" Isabela pleaded
"Why would I? I won't say a word about our interaction here. I know that you have to look perfect and act perfect in front of everyone and as your friend, you can just approach me if things get hard for you" Y/n gave her an assuring smile.
"You're my friend?" Isabela blushes at what just the girl had said.
"I mean if you want me to—"
"Of course I would love to!" Isa hugs her tightly and Y/n gladly return it.
After tonight, the two girls have been sneaking out, meeting at the same spot at the same time, just to meet each other.
Next part: Feeling Started to Grow
This took me 2 hours of writing, gosh I hope you guys will like this. Like I said, this is a new series, Don't worry the first chapter of The Adventures of Baby Y/n will come out later too then I will be answering some request the same day if I manage to finish some school works.
A/n: leave a likeif you like this new series, your comments also gives me motivation to write more.
Isabela is closer to the warm-colored family!
Don’t believe me? Well, to start, she is the only cool-colored family member(aside from Mirabel, of course) to sing in We Don’t Talk About Bruno, a song sung otherwise entirely by the warm-colored family.
She also is shown to be very close to Pepa, much moreso than to her own mother(I’ll get back to that later.), multiple times in the movie:
Of course, it makes sense for her to be close to Pepa: water and rain nourishes plants and makes them grow! But it’s worth noticing that aside from background dialogue, Pepa doesn’t talk to Dolores even once, while Mirabel is at least shown talking to both Julieta and Pepa. Isabela also doesn’t talk to Julieta at all throughout the movie as far as I’m concerned.
And of course, during the lunch scene in which Alma discusses Isabela’s engagement to Mariano, who does she sit with?
The warm-colored siblings, right between Dolores and Camilo(with Antonio being on the other side of Dolores, though it’s not shown in the gif, so technically she is sitting on the side of the Afrolatine kids, whereas Mirabel would be sitting next to Luisa if Alma hadn’t forced her to move)! Even interacting with them the way siblings would, with both of them playing pranks on her and her responding to the latter in kind.
But the question is...why? Why does Isabela appear to be so much closer to Pepa’s side of the family than to her own? I have a few hypothetical reasons for this.
The first is that, due to her pressure to be a perfect, graceful flower(in Mariano’s words), and the older sister of the only Madrigal who didn’t get a gift, her parents didn’t take as much time and energy in looking after her and seeing if she was all right than they did Mirabel. They were more concerned about making Mirabel feel better about not having a gift than they were Isa being perfect because from their point of view, perfect doesn’t need fixing. Isa didn’t have any problems from their point of view and they figured she had everything under control. So she gravitated towards the warm side of the family since they actually paid attention to her outside of being perfect.
The second(and this partly ties into the first) is that the warm-colored family is the side that actually sees who she is beyond her perfect persona. We know already that Isabela and Dolores are primas-hermanas, and were joined at the hip since they were kids. Who’s to say that Dolores wasn’t the only one that Isa could confide in about the pressure to be perfect, and that she was the only one Isa could be herself around for a while? As for Pepa, they most likely spend a lot of time together, seeing as how they dance together, she hands Pepa the flowers, and they even do the same dance at different points in the movie! Most likely it was Pepa who taught Isabela how to dance as a form of tia-sobrina bonding. As for Camilo, he pesters her like a little brother would an older sister, something he never does to Dolores and probably couldn’t because of her sensitive ears. It’s likely that he does this because he sees past Isabela’s perfect facade, and also because he can’t play those pranks on Dolores so he does it to Isabela instead.
(They also both race for the candle together and look at each other worriedly when they fail, neither of them paying Mirabel any mind, it’s as if they were looking out for each other the way a brother and sister would:)
Remember when I said that she is sitting with the warm-colored siblings at the lunch table? At the dinner table, when she is about to be proposed to and thus must keep up her perfection facade, she’s not sitting next to them at all. She is sitting with Mirabel and Agustin, who are on the cool-colored side of the family:
Gifts may also be a part of this. Notably, unlike her mother and sister, Isabela has a gift that would fit in better amongst the warm-colored family, one that relates to nature in some way: her gift involves growing plants and flowers, Pepa’s gift is controlling the weather with her emotions, and Antonio talks to animals, which is a part of nature. The three are like a natural cycle. Pepa’s rain could make Isabela’s flowers grow and Isa could use those plants to feed Antonio’s herbivore friends. It’s possible that she gets along with Antonio too the way she does Pepa and Dolores, and sees him somewhat like a little brother rather than a cousin.
All of this is just my opinion, of course, but it’s not too off the mark. I don’t think it’s too far of a stretch to imagine that Isabela feels closer to the warm-colored family than to her own side, as tragic as that might be. Lots of scenes show her interacting with Pepa or relating to Pepa the way a mother and daughter do, and she is shown interacting with Dolores and Camilo the way siblings would. So perhaps she does feel a stronger connection to the warm-colored family after all.
But that’s just a theory...AN ISABELA THEORY!!!
Let me know what you think in the comments below!
Can I request hcs of isabela having a clingy girlfriend? Thank you!
Isabela with a clingy girlfriend
!english isn’t my first language, so there can be some grammar mistakes that I am sorry for in advance!
Isabela Madrigal x fem!reader
thank you for the request <3
“Wow, you really like hugs, huh?” Isabela said, feeling her girlfriend’s arms wrap tightly around her waist. Her fingers softly stroking her sides.
“Only when it’s you I’m hugging, mi vida,” Y/N responded. She inhaled the smell of Isa’s hair as she hid her head in the crook of her neck. Nuzzling a bit closer, she pressed a few light kisses to her neck and shoulder.
Isabela was known as the most beautiful flower of Encanto for a reason, she was a beautiful woman, inside and out
so when you finally got lucky enough to get to call her your girlfriend, you would make sure to let her know that you were not going to let her slip away
having her close to you was making time stop, problems disappear, life get brighter, smile creep onto your face
her soft skin and hair (and the fact she always smelled amazingly) were making it impossible to not get addicted to her touch
“Isabela, could you give me a hand- oh,’ Mirabel stopped mid-sentence seeing her sister being clearly busy.
Isabela and Mirabel were helping Julieta with breakfast. But Isabela proved to not be much help. And the reason for that was Y/N sitting without a word on the counter. She wasn’t helping nor was she disturbing their work, so Mirabel didn’t mind her. Until she grabbed Isabela’s hand and laced their fingers together, that was. Isa couldn’t really do much with only one free hand, yet she let her girlfriend hold onto her as if she was her anchor.
Well, for Y/N she was.
“Y/N, can you please let Isa go?”
Y/N shook her head and tightened her grip. “No.”
“Mira, I’m perfectly capable of doing my job with one hand,” Isa said as she dropped an arepa. Mira rolled her eyes.
“Fine, you’ll get your extra hand,” Y/N said, hopping off of the counter. Mirabel raised a brow.
Still holding hands, Y/N started helping Isa using her free hand. Mirabel got what she wanted. Two working hands. She still pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance though.
the family loves you, sure, but they can’t help, but wish sometimes you could let Isa breathe
Camilo once said that it’s getting annoying and Isa planted cacti on his bed
while you think Isa is a goddess, she thinks you’re a blessing
her little cuddly toy
at first she thought your clinginess would get tiring after a while
she was surprised it didn’t
you being clingy didn’t necessarily mean that you were glued to her 24/7, no, it sometimes was just you being close or giving Isa something that reminds her of you
she would be doing errands and you would hook your pinkies together when you’d notice her get annoyed or bored
you would observe her from across the plaza as she would entertain the kids with flower tricks, occasionally waving at her or winking at her and in return she would blow you kisses and make a rose grow right next to your feet
you’re busy too, so in the morning you’d find her, give her a note with a sweet and thoughtful affirmation for the day
she’d smile, kiss your cheek and you’re both on your way to finish your chores
“Is something wrong, amor?” Isa asked when Y/N laid her head on her lap.
Y/N opened one eye, looking up at Isa. “Nothing’s wrong. Not now at least.”
“Mhm,” Y/N nodded, closing her eyes again. “I just missed you. You and your comfortable lap.”
Isabela smiled, relieved. She relaxed and stroked Y/N’s hair. Isa decided to take a moment and appreciate the girl laying on her lap.
Moments like this were rare, but that made them more meaningful, didn’t it?
at the begging of your relationship, Isa was confused at the amount of hugs and kisses she would receive on daily basis
she thought that you needed comfort and that something was wrong
you’re just clingy
and Isa is, like, super warm
she’s like a walking fuzzy blanket
so of course you’d cuddle her as often as possible
after some time, she got used to the affection
sometimes, especially when you’re tired, you’d come up to Isa from behind and literally climb onto her back
wrapping your arms around her neck and legs around her waist
it was like she was giving you a piggy back ride, only you gave it to yourself
she could be talking to someone at the moment, she wouldn’t care
she’d continue the conversation as if nothing was happening
Isa would support your legs with her hands not even looking at you, knowing you probably just need to fulfill the desire to feel the comfort of your girlfriend’s touch
the person Isa was talking to though, let’s just say they forgot what they were going to say for a moment there
“Y/N, babe, breakfast is ready,” Isabela whispered to the girl. “We should hurry before Camilo eats both our portions.”
Y/N only grumbled. She pressed her head against Isa’s stomach.
What Isa loved about her girlfriend’s cuddles was how random they could be at times. Especially when they took place in bed. Y/N’s limbs were always wrapped around Isabela in some way. One time, her whole body was sprawled across the floor except her left leg. Her left leg remained on the bed and it was hooked over Isa’s own leg. Weird position, sure, but even in that moment Y/N remained a cuddler.
Today she hugged Isa. But her head was against her stomach and her shoulders were at the same height as Isabela’s hips. Y/N’s arms were loosely wrapped around her waist. Isa could feel her breath tickling her skin around the belly button. Their legs were tangled together and Isa had a hard time distinguishing her left calf from the right one.
“Y/N, wake up, preciosa,” Isabel tried again. She stroked Y/N’s hair.
“Fine,” Y/N muttered, untangling herself from her girlfriend. “but you have to carry me downstairs.”
Isabela loved you and your cuddles
you being clingy makes her feel superior
the way you hug her feels like she’s your protector
your knight in shining armor
and Isa loves that, it’s like your hugs and kisses are compliments
and she loves them, it’s like you’re telling her how amazing she is and how safe she makes you feel
you love Isa, Isa loves you, you’re two beautiful girls and you like to be close to each other
one hug from you and Isa knows you just caged her for life
she’s not escaping from your grasp, ever
Isabela is so pretty god damn
Heyyyyyyy i have one for isabella

the berry grove
isabela madrigal (she/her) x gn!reader (they/them)
warnings: little angsty, sick mother, i think that’s it!
[1,536 words 😧]
crouching down by the berry bush you collected all the blueberries you could reach, when you heard a crunch behind you, turning your head you saw a girl with long black hair and a lilac dress,
“oh! um sorry for startling you” the girl said tucking her hair behind her ear and looking down slightly, you grabbed the last berry you could reach and stood up and fully turned your body to look at her,
“you’re fine, I could use company if you don’t mind, do you know where I could find some orange flowers? im y/n by the way” you gave a small smile as she looked at you with an eyebrow up, she then formed a bouquet of cosmos. she was a madrigal,
“im isabela” she gave an uneven smile to you as she handed you the bouquet, you explained how you didn’t really pay attention to her family, even though you lived in the encanto, because your mom had been sick and so you were trying to get the money with your dyes for her medicine. you chatted while helping you find berries, soon it got to dusk and she walked you back to the town square as she parted ways to go to la casa Madrigal, you stared at the back of her with a smile as you entered your home, greeting your mama, switching out the wet towel on her forehead, and reheating soup on the stove.
you sat at the table crushing the flowers and berries to make your dyes the next day. when you decided the soup was warm enough you poured some into a bowel, grabbing a spoon, you brought it to your mamí in the living room crouching beside her with a small smile on your face from the lovely girl you had spent your afternoon with.
“ay mijo/mija, what’s got you so happy” your mother uttered with a cough after, she rarely talked because it hurt her throat so you turned your head to look at her, your cheeks heating up as you explained your day,
“and she was tan bonita, mama” you finished as she gave you a smile, she had finished the soup you reheated, you brought the empty bowl to the kitchen before you returned to her, bringing a chair from the kitchen to sit next to her.
“ay, estás enamorado mi hijo/hija” she lifted her hand to tuck some of your hair behind your ear and cup your face, your thumb stroked back and forth against your mothers hand as she fell asleep. you stood up, covering her in a blanket as you teared up a bit, once you got to your room you broke down, sobbing messily, if you lost your mother you lost everything.
the next day, you woke up a little later than you meant to, quickly going to the market to buy the groceries you needed, bumping into Isabela, her abuela a few paces behind her, her eyes widened a bit and before you could say hello she turned away from you, her arm hooked around her abuela’s. you pushed it off and finished your shopping before going back to your home to make a quick breakfast for your madre before getting to work, little did you know your berry girl had seen where you entered.
later that day you had just finished mixing your crushed up flowers and berry to add to the base dye when you heard a small knock at the front door. you got up wiping your hands on your apron and opened the door to be met with Isabela,
“hola y/n, im sorry about earlier, my abuela wants me to be perfect and that means not knowing of me going to the berry grove, i’ll accompany you anytime i can, if you tell me your schedule..” she looked up, her face still facing the ground slightly. to her surprise you had a smile on your face,
“yeah i’d like that” and that’s how it was for weeks, she would accompany you on your twice a week journey to the berry grove, and if you needed some flower for dye quicker she’d make a bouquet of the flower for you,at some point she had confessed she was in love with you, but your relationship had to be secret, you didn’t question her, immediately admitting to your reciprocated feelings, eventually she met your mother, who adored her, calling Isabela her hija already.
on your love’s side however, her mother became suspicious of her oldest daughter being much happier than she has been. that’s when she consults her niece
“Dolores, cariño, do you mind listening in on Isabela when she leaves today, even though I hate going behind mi vida’s back but i’m just so curious!” and of course Dolores agreed to her tia’s request. when Isabela headed down the hill, Dolores followed her prima, keeping a keen ear out. She heard her greet the townspeople, nothing unusual until she heard her prima say something.
“hola, mi mariposa” isabela had greeted you in your berry grove, she followed her voice until you and Isabela came into view. Isabela cupping your cheek as you held her hand to your chest. Dolores squeaked out of instinct and isabela turned quickly, almost shifting you to be behind her.
“Dolores! I-I can explain” she gave a nervous laugh to her prima with wide eyes. she tried swallowing the lump in her throat, her eyes threatening tears to form.
“Isabela, please explain to me what is happening, i’m not mad if that’s what your worried about” Dolores stated, Isabela walked a distance away from you, as for you not to hear, but not before giving you a kiss on the cheek. She explained to her prima how she didn’t like Mariano and how she fell in love with you and had been seeing you for weeks, Dolores comforted her prima and left, not without saying a pleasant goodbye to you, and headed back to Casita to explain to her tía of what was happening with su hija. However, someone else had heard what was happening with the eldest madrigal grandchild.
the next day, you had been in the market buying bread to make some food for your madre when the Alma Madrigal had approached you, requesting to speak. you obliged, slightly cautious because of the events of yesterday. She had invited you to dinner that night, and to come at 8. you agreed and finished buying the bread you needed and headed home, explaining to your mother how you would be gone that evening.
time skip to 8pm
you arrived at casita’s door, before your hand reached the door to knock it opened on its own, shuffling its tiles in greeting, you smiled at it and gave a little wave, walking in you were guided to the dining room by the floor tiles, you heard a thud as a piano being dragged by Luisa down the stairs, you squeezed past it seeing a sight you wished you never did. there was el amor de tu vida being proposed to by some classic perfect guy, she looked up from the man, her perfect smile dropping and eyes widening as her eyes met yours, you could feel your tears already start to fall as you ran out, hearing isabela knock over her chair yelling out a ‘mi amor!’ as well as what seemed to be the man’s abuela yelling out ‘what is happening?!’
You rushed out of Casita’s door running down the hill, almost slipping multiple times because of the newly wet tiles from pepa’s thunderstorm that had just begun. Soon you heard the door close again and footsteps after you,
“please let me explain, mi amor” you felt more tears come on as she got closer to you, you turned to her as she cupped your neck and tears formed in her own eyes,
“i never wanted to marry him, i didn’t have a choice, mi abuela matched me with him and i have to be the perfect child,” she leaned her forehead against yours and closed her eyes, “please believe me, amor, im only in love with you, i only want to marry you.” you gave her a tight hug, putting your face against her neck.
you both separated slightly when you heard a pair of footsteps, as isabela turns her head to look behind her, and then to look to the side, eyes following the figure, you can only assume this is Julieta, Isabela’s mamá.
“ay, Mamá, I-“
“it’s okay, mi amor, i know you love them and as long as you are happy, me and your papí are too” she gave a very motherly smile to her daughter, and then to you. Isabela let go of you as she let her tears run as she hugged her madre, Julieta then opened her unoccupied arm to invite you into their mother-daughter hug, you complied and joined them, isabela giggling as her mother covered her face in kisses.
after Isabela’s tío, Felíx had calmed down Pepa, Isabela led you back into the house, Isabela’s youngest sister missing, she introduced you to her familia. Them being as accepting as always, Camilo wondering how you fell in love with her, but all in all, you and Isabela were together, and not just in secret.
