been reading The Vampyr and about penny dreadfuls (an essay compared them to fanfiction which is interesting) and im reminded of my own writing. I always aim for poetic realism bc i genuinely love stuff like drive my car, shoplifters, 400 blows, tarkovsky, marie howe, josé emilio pacheco, etc etc. like HighBrow things

but really i almost always fail at poetic realism, unless its poetry. And i lost my interest in my own poetry awhile back, unfortunately.

Anyways my most successful work of writing was a comedy screenplay about ghosts harassing a nighttime fast food worker. I think i have to embrace the fact i like, enjoy and are better at the weird, the pulpy and the ridiculous over anything else

SPOILERS!!! REFERENCES AND EASTER EGGS IN F&C ep. 2: SIMON PETRIKOV

Let me know if I missed anything!

First of all the title sequence is fucking cool. I don't want to speculate about the various things we see in it, like the apartment getting blown up or the Fern tree growing into its 1000+ version, because I'm sure the show will get round to all that!

The first scene was an awesome reintroduction to the post-apocalypse, showing us the dynamic between Simon and Marcy. The button popping off Marcy's dungarees was a reference to young Marcy's first appearance, Memory of a Memory, when she removed one of the buttons herself to fix Hambo's eye.

Simon was show playing a live set at Dirt Beer Guy's tavern in Obsidian. It seems they've gotten to know each other quite well over the past twelve years. Dirt Beer Guy asks Simon if he's read his new book draft, about a character called Joe Milkshake who was first mentioned in the episode Root Beer Guy.

Despite the fact we saw Jake in the trailers, Finn and T.V. pretty much confirm in this scene that Jake is dead, and has presumably been dead since before Obsidian. I guess Bronwyn wasn't the only Jake descendant who Finn took on as an apprentice, but T.V. doesn't seem all that into it. The Finn and Jake we saw in the trailer are likely from an alternate universe that we have yet to see.

Finn uses his weed whacker to cut through these bushes. A nice way of showing he's fully recovered from his Fern guilt. The focus here is very much on Simon's problems instead of Finn's.

Finn parts with Simon to go and visit Huntress Wizard. The nature of their relationship remains ambiguous and I expect it to stay that way.

Simon has the Island Lady from The Party's Over Isla de Señorita in his phone. I guess they reconnected after he became Simon again. He also has Abracadaniel. I always liked Ice King's friendship with Abracadaniel and the rest of the Order of Giuseppe so I hope they're still friends!

Cute Bubbline scene. Back in the episode Bonnibel Bubblegum, Mr. Creampuff suggested he and PB get matching tattoos. Now she's (trying to) do the same with the girl she's chosen rather than some guy who was chosen for her! Also Marceline is using the same phone she's been seen with in a few previous episodes, including Go With Me and Be Sweet.

I think the flying human city is called Up-Ton.

Choose Goose! He keeps coming back! And he's evil now! People were joking about him being the antagonist of Fionna and Cake after that weird post-credits scene in Wizard City and the fact he was in hell in Together Again. I wasn't expecting that to actually come true. Glob knows why he's hanging out in a cage in Simon's house.

The pattern of GOLB's eyes is reflected in Simon's glasses during the ritual. He is doing the same dance that Betty was doing to summon GOLB in the finale.

Among the objects in Simon's GOLB shrine are the Farmworld Enchiridion, the flying carpet that Simon stole from Ash and was later frequently used by Betty, the crocodile clips that Betty used for her magic rituals, two effigies of GOLB, and what looks to be the shell of the snail who was seen throughout the original series.

In this credits sequence, Fionna and cake are dreaming about the mask being worn by the bear than Finn slew, and a butterfly with a smiley face on it. Perhaps symbolising Finn?

When your self confidence takes a hit, Christian reminds you that you're the only one for him...

Your relationship with Christian has been the best kept secret you’ve ever had. Both of you agreed to keep things under wraps since your wrestling careers put you in the spotlight all the time. Only a select few people around AEW knew about your relationship, most of them just your closest friends there. Your 22-year age gap never bothered you or Christian, it was the public and their opinions that worried you the most if word got out that you were dating. Fans and internet trolls certainly liked to voice their opinions about you and your spot on the AEW women’s roster, along with Christian and his career, and most recently, his on-screen chemistry with Shayna Wayne. What started out as casual scrolling through social media, quickly turned into an envy filled daily activity for you. There were times you forced yourself to put your phone down, but your curiosity and insecurities often got the best of you. Your self-confidence took a major hit when all you saw several days straight were comments and posts about Christian and Shayna and how great they look together, their chemistry, and everyone’s theories about how they’re in a secret relationship. All the comments about Shayna and how gorgeous she is made you start comparing yourself to her and as a result of that, you started to wonder if she really was a better match for Christian. Were you really enough for the Patriarch of AEW?

Christian and the entire Patriarchy were in the ring cutting a promo right after your match had finished. You walked to the back and watched on one of the monitors as the crowd booed every word Christian had to say. Shayna looked as gorgeous as ever standing next to him, shaming the crowd for their rude remarks and behavior towards the Patriarch all while gazing at him in the most adoring way. Your insecurities got the best of you, so you decided to grab your things from your locker room and head back to the hotel. You sent Christian a text to let him know where you were so he wouldn’t worry if he tried to look for you around the arena.

Once you got back to your hotel room, you kicked off your shoes and tossed your bag on the floor before plopping down on the bed. Christian’s side still smelled like him, so that’s where you decided to curl up and get comfortable. The images of Christian and Shayna from earlier still remained on your mind, even when you tried to distract yourself by scrolling through the tv channels and reading a book. Neither of them worked. You made the mistake of giving into your intrusive thoughts when you opened Instagram and saw pictures from Dynamite, most of them being of the Patriarchy. Your heart felt heavy as you studied each picture of Christian and Shayna, paying close attention to the smiles that covered both of their faces. Maybe they really are the perfect pair after all.

Tears pricked the corner of your eyes the longer you spent on your phone. You were so wrapped up in what you were doing you didn’t even hear the door unlock! When you heard Christian’s voice call out for you, it snapped you back into reality. “Hey baby,” he greeted softly. “I got your text, but why did you leave early? Shayna and Nick wanted us to grab something to eat with them after Dynamite,” At the mention of her name, the floodgates opened and everything you had been feeling lately finally came out. Tears rolled down your cheeks, making Christian instantly concerned. “Hey, what’s wrong? Why the tears baby?” he asked as he sat down on the bed. You held up your phone to him which displayed a picture of him and Shayna smiling together before instructing him to read the comments. “I know I shouldn’t, but I’ve been reading all the posts, comments, and tweets about how you and Shayna are the perfect pair. Everyone says how great the two of you look together, I mean she is gorgeous. Just look at her!” You managed to get out through your sobs. Christian scooted closer to you before embracing you and rubbing your arms. The two of you sat like this for a few minutes while he gathered his thoughts.

“Shayna is just a friend, a coworker. You know that Y/N. Sure we work well together, but that’s all this is. It’s just a work-related relationship,” he explained. “She’s nothing to me, but you Y/N, you are everything and more! I wish you wouldn’t pay attention to the people online baby,”

Your body relaxed a little at Christian’s sweetness, your tears starting to dry as he continued, “I’m sorry if I ever made you question things between us. You and I make quite the pair, not me and Shayna. It’s you, me, and Isla, remember? We’re the best damn trio around and I can’t imagine our lives without you. We both love and adore you, Y/N. You’re our whole world,”

As you sat up, Christian placed his hands on your cheeks, holding your face in place as he looked deeply into your eyes. He wiped one last stray tear away with his thumb as he whispered, “You’re it for me baby and I think it’s about time the world knows that,” He kissed you sweetly before releasing your face and standing. “Where are you going?” you asked. Christian just smiled and went to his duffle bag and grabbed his cell phone from inside. He tapped on the screen and went to work typing something out before opening his gallery and adding a photo to whatever he was doing. You saw him open another app on his phone and do the same thing before shutting it off and tossing it on the bed. Suddenly your phone buzzed with notifications, and he encouraged you to check them. One was for Instagram and the other was a tweet that you had been tagged in, both with the same picture attached:

Christian4Peeps: To the most beautiful girl in the world, You are my favorite person and the only one I need by my side. How did I get so lucky? I love you, Y/N.

The picture was one of you and Christian that he took one night when the two of you were cuddling in bed. Both of you were smiling brightly at each other, the love between the two of you completely evident. It had always been one of your favorite pictures of you together. You could hardly contain your smile as you reread over the words and looked at the picture! “Thank you Christian! I love you too, so much! Our relationship is officially public knowledge, are you sure you’re okay with that?”

“Absolutely, baby. Let the internet burn with envy knowing this Patriarch is off the market!” After Christian got settled in bed with you, the two of you fell into a peaceful sleep with your head on his chest and his arms wrapped securely around you. On the flight home, you pulled up your social media to check all the notifications you had received over night. 99% of them were positive and full of support for you and Christian with no one paying any mind to your age gap, and there were hardly any mentions of Shayna. You cleared the last notification and put your phone away, snuggling in closer to your man with a huge smile on your face.

You, yes you! Are you a fan of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous or any of the Jurassic World or Park movies? Do you love dinosaurs and wish you could see them up close and personal, minus the threat (hopefully)? Then this post is for you!!

With Chaos Theory coming out, the Camp Cretaceous fandom has risen again and I am absolutely all for it! And if you're like me and weren't very satisfied with how they ended it or did the 4th and 5th seasons then you'll want to hear this! I'm opening a community and roleplay server that welcomes the entire Jurassic fandom and will be focusing on my AU, Corrupted Files!

What is Corrupted Files you may ask? Well let me tell you! Corrupted Files is, in my opinion, how Camp Cretaceous should have played out, leaving the campers stranded on the island for three years until Owen, Claire, and their team returned to Isla Nublar in 2018 in the hopes of rescuing the dinosaurs from the doomed island (only to find some feral but capable teenagers who everyone thought were dead)! This AU will explore the harsh realities of island life, the unresolved traumas that the campers face (like Ben not even being looked for and just accepting it, like huh??), and even a hybrid or two that Dr. Wu left behind as well!

Original characters are more than welcome and there will even be slots open for more campers if anyone is interested! If you wish to join the roleplay aspect of this server you will also be given the ability to roleplay a dinosaur as well, whether it be Blue herself or a completely new character that the public hasn't seen due to leaping forth from your own imagination! All canon characters are playable as well, meaning that ships, headcanons, etc are up to you!!

We hope to make this a great experience and community going forward into Chaos Theory and we can't wait to have you! isla myoui, your daughter was your light in the darkness. you originally didn’t want to have kids, but isla was honestly the reason you kept going. not only was she the cutest little thing, she was also such a good girl. she barely ever fussed or cried, and she was friendly with everyone, always having a smile on her cute little baby face. she took after mina mostly, it was clear as day that it was mina’s daughter, having so many similar features. the only thing of yours that she had was your light tannish skin that you had inherited from your own mother. 

even though mina had informed you she would be leaving, you didn't think it’d be right away. a part of you hoped that she wouldn’t leave at all, but much to your dismay when you came home later that day mina wasn't there. she left a note saying that isla was at her mom’s home and because she didn't want such negativity around her so she was leaving to korea immediately. you didn't know why you held out hope that she’d stay, mina didn't care, she didn't care that she was leaving her own daughter alone, she didn't care for anyone but herself. 

maybe it was because of how she left, the way she left leaving your own heart broken. no matter the way she treated you, you still loved the girl. she was your first everything, she was your first love, she was the woman you had a baby with. you loved mina with everything in you, you loved her for convincing you to keep the baby, for even deciding to date you. out of all the girls in your school she chose you. the feeling of sorrow never left you, you gave this girl everything, you gave her everything you had, years of your life were given to her. 

you felt resentment, why was she still having such a big effect on your life although she had left it? your sorrow and resentment lead you to join the entertainment industry, you werent gonna let her win, you werent gonna stay a nobody, someone who was just in her life for a split second. you were going to make it bigger than her, you were going to have her see your name everywhere. A constant reminder of who she left behind, who she cut out of her life as if they were nothing. 

you always loved singing, it wasn't something that was new to you. ever since a young age you had been told to pursue a career in singing. you never minded those comments though, dedicating your time to a career that might not even work out wasn't a chance you were willing to take. well of course that was before mina ditched you, you were not the same person you used to be. 

camila always had a passion for singing, whether or not you did it with her she was always set on becoming a singer. camila was very shy about her singing though, she would always say that when she came of age she’d gain confidence. due to how close you and camila were, you had been one of the lucky few to have been blessed to hear her voice. 

what better luck could you have? both camila and you had good singing voices, wouldn't it be even better if you two could become singers together? 

after a lot of convincing, camila was finally on board, the both of you would show up on America's Got Talent. 

you were nervous, you didn't think you had ever been this nervous about something before. this was the moment your life would change for either the better or worse, you and camila were currently backstage waiting for your turn to go up and audition.

you saw camila's face when she first heard the voice of the girl who had just gone on, she looked amazed at the fact that someone could sing so well, whoever this girl was, was definitely a competitor. when the girl who you saw had green eyes walked out of the booth you could see camilas jaw physically drop, she was gorgeous. you nudged camila on the shoulder and told her to approach the girl with green eyes. her face reddened as she shook her head no, not caring that she said no you dragged her towards the girl anyways. 

“hi! I'm y/n and this is my friend camila, we heard you from the booth and you were like crazy good.” you said to the girl as you approached her with camila by your side. 

a smile grew on her face as she processed the compliment you had just given her “thanks! my name’s lauren!” she said happily as she folded her arms behind her back.

“i- uh- i like your shirt..” camila said her face red 

“thanks!” she replied seemingly happy at all the compliments she was receiving.

in response to what lauren had said camila just nodded her head aggressively while smiling which took you by shock. you had never seen camila have this kind of behavior with anyone, where had the confident camila gone?

“camila and y/n, it’s now your time to shine!” one of the workers said as you two were ushered to the stage

you and camila had decided to do a duet cover of crazy in love, you both practiced it day and night and now it was time to sing in front of everyone. you were nervous but you knew that you had to give it your all. you pushed through your worries and somehow managed to calm yourself down before you started singing. 

you couldn't have imagined the audition going any better than it had, you two performed flawlessly and the simon cowell golden buzzered you two. both you and camila burst into tears at the gold confetti surrounding the two of you as you hugged each other. while mina was probably still training, you were now on your way to winning the show. 

as the show progressed you and camila were put into a group with lauren, dinah, normani, and ally. you two were unfamiliar to the girls (discluding lauren) but it took no time for all six of you to get close.

when sent to bootcamp camila shared a room with lauren and you with dinah. you obviously wanted to be with camila but you also wanted her to get closer to her crush so you accepted the room settings. when all six of you got close enough you revealed the information of you having a daughter to them, you had them all meet her and they absolutely adored her. 

the time you spent on the show was mainly away from your daughter, she had been at your parents house, your mom finally seeming to have interest in the baby. although she had left, mina was still sending you pocket money and paying the rent of your apartment. when you received the first deposit into your bank account from her you were very surprised. you thought you would have to find a job to support your child and yourself but thankfully mina still had a heart and didn't want to see her child and you homeless. 

after mina moved to korea her parents moved back to japan because there was no longer a reason they saw to stay in the u.s. although you hated what mina had done to you, you could never find it in you to dislike her parents, they always treated you like their own, and with utmost kindness.

you liked to tell yourself that mina wasn't all that bad, she was sending you a large sum of money for both you and your child along with paying your rent. she might not have been the best but maybe you should've been more considerate, maybe you should’ve supported her and her choice of becoming an idol.

as time passed by your feelings of resentment were replaced with guilt, maybe it was you who had caused this all. you always knew about her dream of being an idol, maybe you had been too harsh. If she told you not to pursue your dream you’d be upset too, you felt terrible about what  you had said and done to her. 

honestly, throughout the whole 3 months she was gone you just wanted her back, you didn't think you could ever let go of her. even if she came back just to sit on her ass all day and play minecraft, you still wanted her back. you loved her and all her flaws, her flaws are what made her her. 

the girls were your main support, throughout everything, you always knew you had six girls to lean on and talk to. you honestly felt so loved by them all, they didn't only love you but also your daughter. Your daughter was your everything, and the fact that they accepted you as a teen mom was a dream come true. 

you didn't know what you’d do if you hadn't joined the show, it was honestly the second best decision you had made, in a way it made you thankful that mina had left.

decided to make a post explaining some key parts of qsmp for anyone wanting to get into it !!there's definitely some stuff i missed or got wrong so feel free to add. this is part one. part two will come tomorrow.

there is SO much, and i can not possibly explain everything (as i am only a girl) but this is the main things.

MEMBERS

THE BEGINNING

8 english speakers and 8 spanish speakers were given tickets to an island, Quesadilla Island or Isla Quesadilla (I believe it is still unsure who sent the tickets)

they were split up into two trains (not by languages, just split). when they arrived, a vcr-like interruption showing a duck popped up and welcomed them to the island, telling them not to press the button that’s on the big wall separating two sides of the island. naturally, they immediately press the button. the duckling returns and tells them they are no longer allowed to leave, so they all start settling in.

QUACKITY

(I am unsure if this lore is still canon, if not i will remove this section) quackity was split into two people (engquackity and espquackity) as a child. these two characters have no relationship despite being two halves of the same person. despite their names, engquackity speaks both english and spanish, and espquackity has not canonically been seen on the server (besides some ominous messages in chat) but he’s…out there somewhere.

THE EGGS

the eggs were abandoned by their dragon mother and taken by the federation to be given to the island members. each egg has two lives.

when it was just the spanish speaking and english speaking streamers, they were given eggs in pairs of two to take care of

original eggs: bobby (dead) - jaiden and roier, chayanne (alive) - phil and missa, dapper (alive) - bad, trump (dead) - dan and maxo, juanaflippa (dead) - slime and mariana, leonarda (alive) - foolish and vegetta, ramón (alive) - fit and spreen, tilín (dead) - quackity (and luzu, who never met tilín)

new eggs were given to the players who showed up after (besides luzu) by the federation

new eggs: tallulah (alive) - wilbur, richarlyson (alive) - the brazilians, pomme (alive) - the french

pomme is the only egg who currently still has two lives.

the eggs are currently being attacked by the code monster (more on this in part two)

the official host and government-like organization on the island. it was established before the members arrived. their real name is Order.

members: the duckling, cucurucho, multiple faceless workers, cellbit (formerly)

is the representative of the qsmpcensusbureau. they watch over the members, making sure they don’t break rules and they are enjoying the island.

they are portrayed to be looking out for the best of the island members (so, a positive figure) but they attacked cellbit with a chainsaw, and contributed to felps disappearance. it is unknown if there are multiple of them.

they have (had?) a positive relationship with jaiden and roier (heavy on the latter).

the federation can also revive dead eggs, whether they lost both of their lives or only one.

note: in this post i refer to tumblr user Spade-Riddles as "ttb" the whole time (her suspected old blog's nickname was ttb). wherever you see me say "ttb" i mean tumblr user Spade-Riddles.

alright, guys, i got the ok from the original tea time anon who found me and told me about how they tricked ttb into thinking they were an insider.

i'm sharing now because the damage she's done to queer people in this community is insurmountable and the idea that little baby kaylors are thinking about missing out on the show of a lifetime because they want to skip eras tour because they're sad about karlie having another baby with josh is just breaking my heart. ttb has been leading people to believe that kaylor is still together and saying her "insiders" have proved it to her and every time karlie does anything with josh all those people get upset. it's not fair for this woman to mislead people and ruin their taylor/gaylor experience by getting their hopes up that karlie and taylor are just around the corner from coming out when obviously that couldn't be further from the truth. i mean it's insanely obvious to me that karlie and taylor have long gone their separate ways and are no longer involved at all but i digress.

i held back on sharing this for a while because while ttb is kind of humorous to watch she IS dangerous and i just didn't want the heat from her. her (or her followers) have harassed, stalked, and outed multiple gaylors in retaliation for speaking out against her:

so long story short- someone reached out to me to tell me they were tea time anon and that they did it to see if they could get ttb to believe them as an insider source. i got the code they used to verify themselves to her and to prove to myself they weren't pulling my leg sent in a message about the coney island bridge because cara's birthday was coming up and the bridge says "happy birthday". i capitalized ISLA in the word because cara likes that name. it was a bit of a laugh but mostly i just had to send something to prove they weren't just pretending to be tea time anon.

so yeah... if you're reading this and you've ever thought ttb had legitimate info from her myriad of insiders from Spade to Tea Time Anon to that flag person who's sending in stuff these days now you know... she just doesn't. it's people making stuff up or fanfic-ing or trolling.

let me just say i do think all of this is childish and i don't encourage this kind of thing but sometimes childish stuff is gonna go down in fandom spaces. it's just the name of the game. i've had my childish moments and i'm not exactly proud of that, but ttb misleads and harms so many innocent people, especially so many innocent young queer people it's time someone shined the light on just how misinformed she is and provided hard proof that yes coincidences happen. just because a fake insider mentions "isla" and taylor wore isla boots or an isla ring 3 years before that doesn't mean they are legit.

i encourage everyone reading this to try and learn how to enjoy gaylor without plummeting into complete conspiracy theories. there are a lot of healthier and more realistic ways to appreciate taylor's music from a queer perspective than what they get up to over on spade-riddles.

and another reminder that ttb is dangerous. she (or her minions) harasses and outs people who disagree with her. if you're a fan of hers, please be careful. never share your identity or personal details about your life with her or her henchmen.

Today I want to show you world that was made almost 6 years ago, and has been pretty forgotten by now. This world is called Mandora and it’s mild exotic island made by GreenPhoenix. It wasn’t fully released as an alpha, but was in the making in 2017 and was released as beta, for testing. For me it looks like finished, and since download is still publicly available, I decided to remind about this gem. This world come with a save file, so it’s populated.

To download, you need to go to *this thread* at ModTheSims, scroll down to post #18 written by GreenPhoenix, and at the end of this post you’ll see attached files of world and save file.

This world requires all expansion packs except for Supernatural. From Stuff Packs it uses Outdor Living Stuff and Town Life Stuff. No store or CC as far as I know. All other information you can find in thread linked above.

I encourage to leave original water color, at least for first time, because world looks really pretty with it.

This is town centre and first district of houses (more towards bottom)

It has nice cafe and arcade.

You can also find this nice little park with playground and fishing spot.

And alley with houses that looks kind of exotic (?) I guess. Most of them have one color as a scheme, for both interiors and outside. They’re covered in corrugated sheet.

Second district is more towards middle of island. It’s heavy brick and industrialized area. Though very clean and chic in that matter.

It has apartments too!

and cute little coffehouse. You’ll find a surprise in basement, lol.

Driving towards other edge of island, you’ll find swamp area and farm district.

Houses in farm area are very detailed and well made.

They have even sloped roofs with beams and wood textures. Debug lights were used on outside to light the whole building evenly.

On top of island there’s area with more suburban and regular style of houses. I would say the most neutral ones. Seems spacious and good for big families.

And on this flat peninsula bellow you’ll find futuristic houses. Also rainbow colored. These seems more expensive ones.

Recently I was also wondering, that since most colors are segregated and prescribed for certain houses, this world would be good for Not So Berry Challenge.

There are also multiple houseboats closer to the centre. In one of them lives a lady who loves lilac color and animal prints, so some interiors despite one color or one shade, are very characteristic.

and the creator didn’t forget about diving places either! So definitely a good choice if you’re looking for light substitute of Isla Paradiso. For sure it is less laggy.

Around 2017, when I had first time Mandora in my game, I felt like this town lacks of certain spontaneity and crazyness, but now I see I just wasn’t paying attencion to details. Usually exotic worlds attacks you with dense jungle or orgy of colors and patterns, but this one seems more calm, orderly, and tidy. I think it’s cool we have now something made in that way.

I was lurking on MTS while this world was in making, but had problems with my account and finally didn’t write anything there. It’s specific site, and I felt unmeritoric comments wouldn’t be welcomed in world making section. Though I felt like I should at least somehow cheer, because encouragement is always nice during such a long projects. I’m sure author had a blog with process of making, maps and addresses of certain lots, but I can’t find a link now. Don’t know if it was on tumblr or other platform. I think it was blogspot or wordpress more likely. So if you find it by a chance, please post link in comments.

Some fun facts: - This list is not quite in order of when the first usages of these names appeared, but it's pretty close. - Assuming I caught everything and did the math correctly, Trent's daughter has been mentioned by name in 192 fics! For reference, Trent has been tagged as a character in 395 and does not actually appear in some of those, so she's really named in over 49% of the fics he's in. - Of the approximately 77(!) names used, ~33 have been used in multiple fics (including several series), and ~21 of those have been used by multiple different authors. - Seraphina and Georgie are tied for most usages (18 each) but when it comes to usages by the most authors, Seraphina (probably unsurprisingly, given how many people have been inspired by a kind of dwell and welcome) wins in a landslide with 15.

Well, it seems we're not getting a canon name! I guess she's our daughter now. I haven't decided whether I'm going to maintain this list going forward (though for my own sanity I'm leaning towards no) but at least it's fully up to date as of 7:30 pm est today (May 31, 2023).

Some "final" statistics: The numbers aren’t perfect, because there were a few names I grouped together and probably should have counted separately, and a few names I counted separately and probably should have grouped together, and those may or may not have balanced out, but keeping that in mind, about 110 names were used! About 49 were used in multiple fics (including individual installments in several series) and about 35 of those were used by multiple authors. Trent’s daughter has been mentioned by name in about 298 fics by 149 authors. This includes works in which she’s mentioned but doesn’t show up as a character, but doesn’t account for works in which her existence is mentioned but not by name. Fun fact, about 21 new names were used just while season three was airing!

This is going to be long.

I had already posted the very first picture I ever took with the Sims but I can't find it anymore. Anyway, here it is (dated May 2010): get ready to be dazzled.

Such talent already. Much awe and impress.

The man in the picture is a Golzine, of course. Sid Golzine to be precise, ie Laurie's great-great-grand-uncle. Lisa will give birth to Emily and Tim's grand-father. In fact, their family bloodline is the true one. Laurie's bloodline originates from Sid's brother Ludo who adopted a son.

But this is not the first pic of the story and definitely not representative of what I do today. It just can't be compared to anything.

For a more relevant comparison, maybe I should show you how I used to write AFATWG at the time. So this is what my very first post on WordPress looked like in January 2013. It is no longer available (published privately only) and has not been translated from French.

The first pic is of little Paula Leneuf, who will be Theo Golzine's mother, ie Laurie's great-grand-mother. (In my defense, I wasn't taking pics to illustrate the story at the time. I wrote it for myself, and was using pics as prompts. Then I started taking more and more pics... and well, here we are.)

This here Tumblr was opened in July 2013, and I initially only used it to summarize the WordPress updates, like in this post here. Looking at it made me tear up a little: I was right in the middle of writing Seth and Nathaniel's teenage years. 🥹 This is what the WP updates looked like in July 2013 (the update was about Seth having a part-time job as a mechanic. That guy - whose name I can't remember - was the first to give him a chance.):

In 6 months' time, I had switched to writing fully in English, mostly dialogues and A LOT MORE pics.

The switch to "graphic novel" happened 2 years later, in January 2015, precisely with this update about Hector (a forgotten character that went to live in Isla Paradiso - the one who got cast away if anyone remembers that part?). I was trying out some stuff.

The Sunrise on Pluto update that was published at about the same time is a lot closer to how I do things today. I was using Superlame for the bubbles at the time (although debatable, that is the name of the program, not my skills).

Since then, I've gone back and transformed quite a few updates into a graphic novel style. Not everything, because I didn't always have enough pictures to illustrate and still needed an descriptive text for what happened in between.

You already know the way I do things today. It's not that different from 8 years ago. Maybe more interesting frames? Probably better sized speech bubbles. Certainly better graphics.
