Circle 2 - Lust.

Entry Fee: Ready for the next level? To get through the second set of doors, your character must kiss someone and mean it. No kissing of the cheek or hand. They need to make their need so believable that entry is all but required after that. Anything less, and they’ll be asked to go back to the normal, less interesting part of the party and there they will stay for the rest of the night.

Entertainment: The circle your character is about to enter has been inspired by the euphoric, hazy feelings of a certain ecstatic drug. Circle 2 is like entering a clearing in the forest, where rainbow lights dance between the canopy of trees overhead, and circus performers swing in their litheness between branches. No shortage of couches or cushions line the dark, smoky forest room. Dance around the bonfire through the strobed lights to the DJs heart pumping tunes, or maybe here is where you stop for a cuddle (or whatever else you want to get away with in the dark).

Fun question to all my farming sim lovers out there: if the opportunity should arise that a small team and I (by that I meam my engineer brother and me) were to make one, what do you think of this concept?

Your regular old farming sim, the beloved mini games (except fishing. Fuck fishing), romance options, developing the land, etc etc. BUT! Creepier. Yes, you must save the town! But not from a Corp. Or simple odds, such as your usual game, but from something far more nefarious.

A monster? A killer? Or something far more surprising? Who knows! We're just spitballing the story right now and wanted to see if it was even worth the effort/something that would be in demand.

Hello, everyone!

Along the coast there are some old ruins that could offer some protection against attackers at night.

Your group, tired from a day of fighting and casting spells, decides to set up camp there. Using the old stones as cover the eagle-eyed among them could use them as a great hiding spot.

Let’s see if they’re able to sleep well tonight or if it’s going to be another one of those restless nights.

The creature tokens for this map are a Devastating Boar, a Fierce Seal and a Giant Carnivorous Plant. Emerald tier gets the Devastating Boar while Diamond tier gets all three. In addition, Sapphire tier gets extra creature token variants.

When Reach of the Roach God, a large hardcover installment in the Thousand Thousand Islands line, arrived at my house a couple weeks ago, I was bowled over. I had to write about it right away for y’all. This is easily one of the best RPG books of the decade. An instant classic.

Like the ATTI zines, Reach is still systemless, but it has a lot more RPG framework built in. There’s a clear string of adventures, a narrative arc, a section that feels like a sourcebook. I could run a game out of the zine material, but I feel much more supported in that effort here. The structure helps and guides, but the book retains the freedom that comes with system neutrality.

This is a high water mark for the series and, I think, for systemless campaign material in general. It is soooo good, folks. Odoyoq, the roach god, senses new ways it can insinuate itself into the lives of non-roach kind (in temperament, the roaches remind me a lot of the Skaven from WFRP). These three schemes are presented as collections of facts — about the setting, about the people living there and their motivations, about the desires of the god and the machinations of its agents. These facts are static until the players quicken them, at which point the causes and effects that occur in their wake are clear (which, don’t mistake this for a statement of simplicity — there is great complexity here, and philosophical nuance, even if the tools are easy to use). Events will quickly throw a small village, a monastery and a necropolis into chaos. Two gazetteers and a sourcebook on the roaches follow, giving the GM ample material to expand the campaign.

I haven’t even mentioned Munkao’s fantastically disgusting artwork. His vistas and cultural portraits are gorgeous as always, but when he brings his talents to bear on feelers and chitin and filth, the results are revolting in the best possible way. OH! And there is a whole system for making cave systems that is every bit as brilliant (and a good deal easier) than Veins of the Earth. Buy this book when you can, you won’t be disappointed!

The temperature hasn’t let up and Obsidian City’s power grid has begun to seriously malfunction from overheating. The once reliable train system has turned into a mess of stops and goes, but for many it’s still the only means of transportation around the island.

Train delays and breakdowns will be happening across the island from the 11th to the 18th, so you can set your thread at any point during this week. Each pairing has been given a location in which they will be stuck on the train, but what happens next is up to you.

Nadia Cattaneo + Cyrus Coleman; stuck at the underground St. Vlad’s stop, along with all the hungry vampires on their way to wait 3 hours in line at the blood bank

Lee Packett + Elisa Salaliphus; stopped in Port Grave and boarded by pirates who saw an easy opportunity for plundering

Tristan Ward + Fó “Canary” Morrigan; stopped near mining entrance and oops their shifts started twenty minutes ago and double oops the foreman today isn’t a very forgiving man

Fenrik Skullglade + Flint Mahoney; stopped in Old Elysia immediately after school has let out, ergo surrounded by fae children

Orlaith Rose + Fable; stuck in a carriage with a woman giving birth

Prudence Tkachenko + Gabriel Sato; went to use the bathroom and now the automatic doors won’t open, the toilet won’t stop flushing, and they have about three feet of space to split between them until the train gets power again

Eden Sharma + Lixin Zhou; they might not have had it so bad, if it weren’t for that stinking pirate and the parrot he’s been trying to get back in the cage since the train stopped

In regard to your pin post, what games do you like to play? I'm always a sucker for hearing about other tabletops people enjoy.

Ooooooh thank you for asking!!! I'm a big sucker for easy to run character focused games like Thirsty Sword Lesbians or Masks: A New Generation, but I also love love love games with potential for really cool and creative combat like Eidolon: Become Your Best Self, Gubat Banwa, and LANCER.

My primary experience is with Powered by the Apocalypse games, but I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit in the future! Blades in the Dark is super cool, but other Forged in the Dark games appeal to me a lot, especially Brinkwood - The Blood of Tyrants, a super cool game about organizing a revolution against colonialist capitalist vampires.

There's really so many amazing games by queer indie creators out there - Apocalypse Keys recently had its full release, as did EXTREME MEATPUNKS FOREVER the TTRPG! There's really something for everyone. I really need to play more Ryuutama for its lovely adventure vibes, Hard Wired Island for a return to true anticapitalist cyberpunk, as well as Flying Circus for amazingly accurate WWI-era plane action in a miyazaki-inspired setting! Other stuff I've had for a while but need to play are Monster Care Squad, Heart: The City Beneath, and Comrades, a Revolutionary RPG.

There's also plenty of nice, charming, slower paced games as well. Wanderhome is a beautiful pastoral journey game, where everyone comes together to heal a land and experience wonders. Our Traveling Home is inspired by Howl's Moving Castle and has everyone play a unique role as a queer found family. Yazeba's Bed and Breakfast just released, and it's an amazing episodic experience packed full of beautiful content!

One of my favorite game creators is Dinoberry Press, creator of fantastic titles like Justicar, What Waits Beneath, and GUN&SLINGER, a cool 2-3 player game where one person plays a magical gun and the other their haunted wielder. It's got a couple great extra modes of play, too, like SWORD&BEARER or MECH&PILOT !

And there's even more amazing games in development. Dinoberry's You're in Space and Everything's Fucked just funded, as did HELLPIERCERS: TACTICAL HARROWING ACTION. Guns Blazing and Wetrunners are really close to being funded, too, check them out! Some other great games that aren't fully complete but you can play right now are ICON, Bloodbeam Badlands, Red West, and In the Time of Monsters, all of which are some of the COOLEST things I have ever seen.
