given a large part of my academic life has been dedicated to the early 1900s in britain, you'd think it'd be that but no. i became obsessed with medieval europe a while ago and got very excited for a long time about medieval battlefield archaeology. i nearly threw my pen across the room because the people in the documentary i was watching found a leather stud

i watched a really good one on netflix a few months ago, it's called gangubai kathiawadi. i also love portrait of a lady on fire and elisa y marcela

actually this has taken so long to answer because i've been scrolling through my gallery for 84 years. anyway! some snaps from the uk, austria, and spain

14. Why you are interested in history?

my dad and my aunt are both interested in history and my aunt has worked in various museums so i was able to go to those places for free when i was growing up. also, horrible histories

15. Were the history classes teached in an interesting way in your school/ college/ university? What would you do to improve them if you were the teacher / lecturer?

at school not so much but that was probably a consequence of having to follow the national curriculum. a uni it's varied but i had one really amazing lecturer who was so obviously extremely passionate about her subject. she was the reason i got so into medieval history

norway - were money no object, this would be my immediate choice for a holiday. not sure why tbh but i would really like to visit

new zealand - second choice money no object holiday. it seems like a beautiful country

barcelona, spain - loads of my friends went there for their year abroad and they all said how amazing it was. i kept meaning to go but i never found the time

pompeii and herculaneum, italy - above all else i am a history nerd and this is for sure a historical place i would love to see. possibly maybe going later this year! 🤞

edinburgh, uk - last time i was in scotland i was too young to remember so yeah i definitely need to go back

honourable mention to machu picchu because i would love to go there but i am not fit enough to make it and also it scares me a little
