Small rant about Allison’s Characterization

Aight so, been seeing a lot of “they ruined Allison’s character development”, and “this was super ooc” and “why did they do that? It doesn’t make sense”.

YES Allison doing that to Luther was fucked up and pretty unforgivable but it wasn’t entirely out of character so idk what y’all are on about.

Regardless of comic knowledge (in which she also does this), they hinted at this side of her and her powers in season 1. With Allison losing everything that made her want to not use her powers and be a good person, I’m not entirely surprised she regressed so hard.

Allison, on some level, has always been a little selfish, I mean she’s literally a rich and famous movie star this isn’t shocking. When we meet her in season one she isn’t at her worst behavior like some of the other characters and I think for that reason it was easy to forget what lies underneath but, “I heard a rumor that you love me” lives in my head rent free.

Let’s also not forget that she wasn’t allowed to see Claire because she was constantly rumoring her, taking away her agency and ability to be her own individual person at such a young age too, instead of actually properly parenting her. And then in season 2 they hint at it again by showing how she can get carried away or overtaken by her powers. Not that the bitches she hurt didn’t have it coming but, Rays reaction was supposed to signal that she was going too far or something. (Personally it’s whatever but the musical queue’s and such gave the vibe, to me anyway, that she enjoyed the power trip)

All I’m saying is, fucked up as it was, it was fairly in character. This side of her has always existed and has been pushed down but always there. But now with all the trauma and hopelessness she’s regressed back to how she was and is being extra self destructive on top of it. And I hope they will address the Luther stuff, but everything else she did was just as bad as the rest of the characters, so it’s pretty silly to come at her for that.

But yea I hope she has a redemption arc (?) or gets called for the SA, but everything else she did? Idk she was in her dark arc, they’ve all been there.

i keep seeing people questioning the umbrella’s actions over harlan and viktor defending him “why are the siblings being so unsympathetic to viktor, harlan’s like a son to him” and not excusing the rest of the umbrella’s actions, but I genuinely don’t think any of them realized/know that. Allison says “protecting him [Harlan] didn’t bring back Sissy either” when Viktor’s upset about Harlan and i think that moment shows that Allison, along with probably the rest of the Umbrellas just think Viktor’s care for Harlan is mostly just because he’s Sissy’s son, and not for Harlan’s own sake

And it makes sense, because throughout the series Viktor doesn’t really talk about himself or his relationships or feelings about things unless it’s brought up in conversation or it comes spilling out.

Season 2 is a good example of this because not only does Viktor not talk about Sissy or Harlan much on his own with the other umbrellas, Viktor has the exact same conflict with Five over compromising stuff for someone he cares about, yet Viktor does not explain why they matter to him so much or the extent of how much he cares for them, simply that they are important to him,

So it makes perfect sense the Umbrellas don’t really see Viktor’s side of things much over Harlan in s3 because they don’t have context over how much Viktor cares for Harlan.

All the year unknown Easter eggs have me excited but can we just talk about Ben's timeline for a second? Because firstly it's the only one that has his birth on it which feels like it means something, especially with this being 'the final timeline' but also it has both Ben's on there and year unknown says 'Ben is released'. Not Sparrow Ben, *Ben*. Lads I fucking happy cried at this, I'll be so furious if it is actually about Sparrow Ben. Also, the subway motif and last we saw Ben was on a subway so like...clearly he's important this season.

I've been really into the theories that Sparrow Ben will have Brelly Ben's memories or be an amalgamation of both Ben's and this definitely feels like its hinting at this.

Edit: So I've seen someone point out that Ben born is in relation to Harlan having killed their mums which...is probably true but he didn't kill Lila's parents and her's doesn't say Lila born?

This time about season 4!!!

Ok so,

I was in the Underground yesterday and if you didn’t know, trains happen to frequent the underground along with crowds of people!!

Anyways I was stood there being squished like the butter in an uncomfy sandwich (obviously feeling a little panicked) when a train came bounding along it’s tracks and my Jesus Christ and the Lord beyond, the noise!!! The crowd!!! It was all very panic inducing and my mind wandered off to Klaus! (I’m getting to the point, please hold on for a moment)

So Klaus obvs has PTSD (surprise!!) and we see it triggered (NOT ENOUGH) by loud noises that resemble guns (including gunfire), helicopters, shouts etc etc etc!

Now “How is this to do with s4???” I hear you desperately screeching for my link to finally attach to the rest of the chain!

End of S4 was a version of Ben (any theories on what Ben it is??? Personally I feel it’s Umbrella Ben if he’s never died/been adopted at all. Similarity it could be a frog who’s wearing a human suit disguised as Ben for the funzies) IN A TRAIN!!! Big scary underground train!!! We also have heard that some filming had begun at a subway station (I believe? Forgive my non-American knowledge!! Subway is a tasty sandwich place with cool cookies, not a place of travel!) and so there is a small possibility that somewhere along the line we could see Klaus in an underground and if so, there’s a slight chance he would have a PTSD episode!!

Personally I feel we haven’t touched on his PTSD enough for someone who fought at the front lines for 10 months and lost the love of his life. Like sure, he has his unhealthy ways of coping that we somewhat see but that breakdown in s1 after getting off the bus was the most grief we see him in and the worst his PTSD is would have to be around the same time! (I do not know much about PTSD at all but I’m pretty sure it effects you a hell of a lot longer than we’ve seen on Klaus?)

Anywho’s, I’m just here hoping we get a more realistic and vulnerable side of Klaus after -what appears to me - his repression of negative feelings catches up to him!! His struggles need to be addressed and not in a comedic stunt anymore!! #NumberFourHasFeelingsToo:(
