greeting
hi, hello
'tis i, asheru. i do go by a variety of other names ((i'm QUEER)), but we shall keep this short. i go by they/he, sprinkle a she there sometimes, but it's like a bookmark rather than the book itself.
i was here a couple years back, but i dread to even think of what my account looked like, so i rather started anew.
this blog is... a mess. there is no theme, nor am i an archivist of the level my high and mighty name suggests. nor am i really an enthusiast either. it is all a lie.
i like languages, plants, fungi, insects, gastropods, variety of mammals, birds, literature, video games, music, video game music?! watching pretty people.. to an extent. i might throw in something that has more to do with me rather than my interests, but we can worry about that later.
i would say that there's general TWs for mental health stuff. i avoid sh and ed talk, but i find it possible and will be separately marking every sensitive post regardless.

The ghost king was a cat.
No one, not even Constantine, knew of this fact. Until the day the eldritch ghost of the infinite was summoned by a wayward cult who wished for the destruction of the world.
He was a large cat, actually. About, roughly, bigger than a car with green fur, an eyepatch over one of his eyes, large horns-thought one was broken-, and a flaming green crown floating above his head.
The ghost king laid on his side and the summoning seemingly interrupted him from... grooming? A smaller cat that laid next to the king that, while smaller than the king (or perhaps his father?) was larger than the average dog.
Meanwhile, Pariah Dark is not exactly pleased he was summoned, with obvious intent to destroy/enslave a world. How rude of them. Don't they know he's on, what was it?
Danny: Your redemption arc, dad.
Yes, his redemption arc!

Titans Tower AU where Jason arrives to beat the shit out of Tim, only to find Tim waiting for him with a resume.
"As you can see, I would be a fantastic sidekick. I have also made a power point."
Apparently, the little Birdie and Bruce had gotten into a fight, and this was Tim's version of acting out.

Just wanted to say that you're the first person I've seen draw Alastor the way he should've been designed (ex: curly hair, darker skin, and more deer attributes etc.) Also your art style is very pleasant :D
"the way he should've been designed" might be too much, but I'm still very flattered! Thank you
Honestly, I wouldn't have much issue with Alastor not having "black/poc attributes" since he's mixed, but eh.

I just have to say that it's so weird reading how transphobes think of trans bodies as mutilated and gross when they never would have thought my body pre-transition was worthy. The "argument" of mutilated beauty that transphobes have tossed around is just a fear mongering tactic, because they don't tend to actually love or appreciate and see value in bodies that don't "neatly" fit into male and female, with no overlap and no nuances.

idk if it's been talked about before but suzanne collins never misses a BEAT when it came to names, specifically coriolanus snow and dr volumnia gaul. just from their first names alone you can already guess what type of role might play between them (well... if you've read shakespeare's coriolanus that is. i do recommend it btw).
a lot of bits were taken from shakespeare's play for tbosas like the motif with scars / wounds / the body as being a microcosm of the nation, the common people fighting up against the government, coriolanus' hatred of the common people wanting to be "equal" to him, the rebel arc etc etc but i'm soooo so so interested in the fact that dr gaul was named volumnia and coriolanus is coriolanus because in the play, coriolanus' mother's name is volumnia!
volumnia is arguably the only female character in the play that has any depth (i am so sorry virgilia). his mother shapes her son into the warrior he is. she reminds him at every turn that he is nothing more than a weapon to be wielded. in fact, she's the one who gets her son to come back from his "revolt" against rome which ultimately lead to his demise. this parallels tbosas in the same way because dr gaul took coriolanus and molded him into the villain you would see in thg trilogy. she brought him back from d12 and then brought about the end of his humanity (a death, so to speak—at the end of the book he said something similar to this to try to save himself from lucy gray's suspicions but he was right because he did kill a part of himself to be where he is)! coriolanus snow's mother is present but off-page. her ghost haunts him, comforts him, but the 'mother' figure is the ever-present, all-knowing dr gaul.
UGH! like with just their names you could map out where they end up at the end of the story and that's literally insane. like the caliber of writing is literally next to none fr
