honestly i love shipping but like

most of the time only when is a shonen show written by a man. solely bc most of the time they suck at writing romance and women and its a personal flex when i can go “haha you suck i am better than you at this.”

but i also only ship extremely specific tropes that i in everything which are not heteronormative in itself at all so like… i am definitely in the minority there as well lmao. have gotten death threats over the stuff i write before so maybe just seeing the hate this honestly rather relaxing show for me receives reminds me of that.

romance and slice of life is 100% just me yearning for what they have lmao but i am also super picky when it comes to stuff like that. nothing will ever beat ouran high school host club that was way ahead of its time

that and the unbridled rage burning in my body because the entire fugging covid situation i am in rn.

i have three roommates, the two who also got covid and i spend the last two weeks with and then the third roommate who is, for the lack of a better word, a womanchild. my other two roommates i love with all my heart- i am sitting here eating a popsicle one of them got out of their way to get me after i told them my throat was hurting bc of covid (since they are already off the hook again and negative) and the other one is also super super nice. but the third one. god i hope she moves out soon. never does any of her chores, never cleans her dirty dishes and is just generally childish and gross ugh. she is in her thirties as well. i was more responsible at 12 than she is now. so so frustrating ugh

growing up on bleach I guess there were just so many possibilities of relations between five hundred fucking characters (ok I'm not even exaggerating I think there might be that many) that shipping never appealed to me. Though I can't say I hate it bc I mean forever I've always loved developing OCs and with shipping that way. But to be a full blown shipper and the weird fixations people grow like if their ship doesn't end up canon they will die turned me off from it pretty much immediately (like people bullying creators of disney shows so badly they have to end shows and butcher endings just to stop receiving death threats like wtf is wrong with people i know not all shippers are like that but...there's a lot more like that then their should be)

ok even I can't deny how good ouran was. That is one of those stupid shows my wife did convince me to watch and I did like it. And unironically I do love the main couple. Like- for me to give a shit about a relationship- I need to feel that the characters will love each other no matter what. Even if they were worms or the same gender or two trees in a forest. I need that heart wrenching kind of soul mate bond that transcends having a human body then I'm into it (I will die on Ichigo/Orihime. That was my favorite thing as a kid and even as an almost 30 yr old that entire thing kills my heart every time I think about it)

Like no joke reading the ideal outline of how you want the reader to come off, there's exactly two sonny boy characters that I think would be freaking perfect in both mentality, speech patterns and morals that would do you wonders for refining the readers personality for the crossover fic. Like I'm not trying to sell you on the show (besides the fact its visuals are stunning ngl) but in terms of your fic I think that show could offer the BEST ideas for it. Even with the three monkey's thing to include the trio/dumbassery/mortality of being a sorcerer. Like you gotta watch it now the story telling and tonality to the series would do SO well for the crossover fic and vetting out personalities/relationship patterns between the trio + reader and so forth. Like my nerd brain is buzzing there's so much symbolism in sonny boy that would lend itself sooo fucking well to the crossover fic in general

AND I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THERE'S NOT ZENO ROBINSON IN IT THANK YOU VERY MUCH....not that there shouldnt be him in everything -3-

the VAs in sonny boy are amazing though, Shinra (fire force) is in it, Uraraka's VA, Aizawa's VA, Endeavor's, and two of them sound really a lot like Chifuyu and Bakugou but they aren't. Still though cast is really amazing and their tones send chills down your spine just as much as the amazing animations (it shares the same director of Space Dandy if you've watched that)

a/n: after spending lots of time inside due to the city being frozen during the holidays, my brain is on the domestic!mingyu agenda. i'm so :-( i love him :-( also pics not mine~

this is going to be a long one i'm so sorry i'm just so in love with mingyu as we all should be tbh

thinking about a tweet that said something like "any boy can be babygirl, but it takes a man to be a wife" AND MINGYU IS THAT MAN

yes he is your wife while he is your boyfriend. no further questions.

he's the sweetest angel ever. he can be a little shit with flirty pickup lines or his whining, but it still has all the energy of a sweet baby angel

when he's tired, he is actually so whiny. like boy pLEASE chill but he will not!! all he wants to do is lie down and hold onto you for dear life

you are his favorite teddy bear (he has definitely said this to you on multiple occasions) and when you are in his arms he never wants to let go.

falls asleep holding you and, if you drift apart, as soon as he feels you move he will pull you back towards him and probably give you a kiss on the forehead because it's pure instinct it doesn't matter if he's asleep it WILL happen

when he's feeling low, sick, or extra sleepy, he will want to be your teddy bear though. he loves being held by you because it makes him feel so safe and warm and loved

giving him lil forehead kisses or pats on the head or backhugs also make him feel so safe and warm and loved and no matter how long you've been together he will blush when you do that

it started somewhat early in the relationship, partially as a joke and partially as a way to show how often he thinks of you, but, whenever y'all are watching tv or walking around outside or simply existing, mingyu will point at something and say "that's you <3"

like the main character in the film you're watching says a joke and he smiles and goes "that's you!" and then another character trips so you point and say "that's you :-)" and mingyu pouts but his heart is beating a million miles an hour because he loves that you love him the way he loves you

he will definitely do it with cheesy stuff too like he sees a rainbow or a pretty flower and without thinking "it's you" falls out of his mouth :-( he sees you in everything :-(

when you're not together, he will send you pictures/videos of things that remind him of you

he's also the type to send you voice messages to tell you jokes or things that happened during the day if timezones/schedules mean he can't call you

he also really wants you to do that too because he loves hearing your voice ! he will listen back to old voice messages when he's away and missing you :-(

mingyu is such a clumsy baby

after being around him enough, you know to have a mini first aid kit ready at all times

and he L O V E S when you take care of his injuries

he always insists that a kiss will make it better

if he scratches his knee and you put a bandaid on it without giving it a kiss, he will feign intense pain until he gets that kiss and then a warm smile lights up his face he is so dramatic istg

as we all know, he is a big acts of service kind of guy

don't be surprised if you hear clamoring in the kitchen early in the morning. there isn't a burglar; it's just mingyu making your coffee/tea and cooking a lil breakfast AND tidying things up for you

sometimes mingyu makes up dumb names for the things he needs because he thinks it's a fun game and loves when you call/text him because you have no idea wtf a sparkly wheat mattress is it's a loaf of multigrain bread

strikes me as the type of guy who will kneel down to tie your shoes whether you're in the doorway about to leave or in the middle of the city like he will drop everything to make sure your shoes are snug so you don't fall

i also think if he scolds you on things like not wearing enough layers he'll lowkey use a baby voice because he doesn't want to upset you and is just genuinely worried because he wants to protect you at all costs

he's also a big fan of holding your face in both his hands and kissing you on the forehead, nose, cheek, lips because he wants all your attention on him always <3

if you're hanging out in a group of people and you haven't looked at him in a while he will poke/nudge/squeeze you to get your attention. if you're too far away for physical contact he will wave at you until you look at him i'm crying

he’s like seated by the fire right. just sulking, brooding—you know, as per usual. the feast had commenced some time ago, and now the clan was scattered in clusters, just laughing, conversing, drinking (whatever the na’vi equivalent to earth alcohol was)—and then, you come in. 

well, you don’t just come in—you’re dancing, and it’s not just you. there’s a line of na’vi women parading through the clearing, all dressed in fancy garments (suited for dancers), ululating and gyrating their hips. amongst these experienced women, you stick out like a sore thumb. not because you’re dancing particularly bad, but because the line depresses drastically in height when it gets to you. but it’s cute, he thinks. adorable, even. 

usually, you’re a clumsy little thing, but right now you have this aura about you. it’s something fierce—and with every step, every twirl of your arms, and shake of your hips, he finds himself teetering closer and closer to the edge of his seat. 

and your eyes? your eyes haven’t left his since you stepped foot into his peripheral vision. they’re darker in color compared to his, but the amber hue flames of the fire light them ablaze. calling him, luring him—like a siren, and he, an unfortunate sailor who’s fallen into his own trap. 

when you round his section, you circle around him. once, twice, three times. his head is on a swivel, eyes never leaving yours as you make your way to the fire. 

you’re only dancing. it’s not like he hasn’t seen this exact same dance hundreds of times, with these exact same garments, and these exact same women who prance around seductively teasing men—because he has. a many of times. but…this was different, intimate. in a way that he couldn’t quite explain. 

and now you’re leaving your place around the fire and women, striding up to him all gracefully. he’s so entranced that he doesn’t process that you’ve grabbed his hands, nor does he process that he was now standing, and walking with you to the fire, and—

“wait, wait, what are you doi-“

but he’s already too far to turn back. he has to commit, especially since all eyes were now on you and him. this was calculated. an attack on his very name and the reputation that he’s so carefully crafted over these past few years. 

see, the thing about neteyam is…he doesn’t dance. he never got the chance to just goof around growing up, not like lo’ak, especially not like lo’ak. no, he was too focused training, and sparring—being primed for war. when you grow up with responsibilities that only an eldest child can be burdened with, you don’t dance. 

“i do not dance,” he tries to pull away, but to no avail. your grip on him is vice and your eyes are fierce, a silent assurance that you were not to be trifled with, at least not now, while there are stares. he surrenders his body to you, lets you pull him deeper into the abyss. 

for a while, he stands there rather awkwardly, just shifting side to side as you walk circles around him. moving just enough to appease you, but not enough to look like he’s enjoying himself. you’re not the least bit impressed, though. you know he can do better. much better. 

“stop being so rigid, move your body,” you poke his side, earning a playful hiss. “i want you to copy me, look, mimic my movements.” you back away slowly, swaying your arms side to side and whirling your fingers up to the sky before letting them drop in front of your face—palms facing outward, fingers spread. 

when he repeats it, you press your palms together, peeking through your fingers. in this moment, there is nobody else. just you, him, and the fire. eyes staring back into eyes, two souls connecting. now that he’s so close, he can see just about every detail of your irises. 

they’re not as dark as he’s always thought them to be, there’s a sparkle behind them. a light or fire that flickers brightly, and he can see himself, too. a mirage of himself burning in the fire. he doesn’t want to look away but then you’re backing away again, laughing and spinning wildly, and he tries to reach for you but you dodge his advances. catch me, you mouth. catch me. 

faster than he can blink, you end up behind him. playfully, you pull his tail and when he spins to stop you from doing it again, you stumble backwards. before your body has the chance to hit the soil, he catches you. lean, strong arms taking you into his hold: one supporting your neck and the other on the small of your back. there it was. that clumsiness.

“dancers are supposed to move with grace,” he whispers teasingly, his face so close to yours you can feel the warmth of his breath, “that wasn’t graceful.” he wants you to take the bait. take the bait, take the bait, take the bai—

“oh, mr. ‘i don’t dance’ is critiquing me now?” you bite. it took a second for you to answer him, partly because you were trying to come up with something slick to respond with, but mostly because of the proximity. his eyes were pretty, too pretty for a smug little shit like him. “guess the student becomes the master.”

he laughs in the interstice of your neck, pulling you up slowly to your original vertical position. eventually, the music begins to come to a somber decrescendo, signifying the end of the song, and you two quickly remember the audience surrounding you. 

“find me later,” you say into his ear. his tail shoots up from the insinuation. “i can teach you something else that isn’t dancing.”
