Why the reblogs keep dissapearing? 😱
Because I'm deleteing them.
I keep accidently reblogging things off my main 😅Usually, I make sure to keep this a dedicated side art account because I don't want to bombard those following me for art with all my random reblogs

Okay y'all I found a work around for the Deep Cut Banners if you have to have them NOW and can't wait for Nintendo to update other regions.
Don't worry, this doesn't involve hacking or anything. I tried it myself just now and it worked. It will also not mess with your Nintendo Online Sub (I don't think it will work if you have Automatic Renewal on though, that's what I read. I don't have mine set to Automatic Renewal. )
So you're going to want to go into your Nintendo Account here -> https://accounts.nintendo.com/
You are going to Change your Region to Japan and Accept the Terms (I'm not sure how this will affect Gold Coins. It didn't mess with my Platinum ones & I didn't have any gold ones so be sure to read the Terms if you're worried about it.)
2. Once you've done that go onto your Switch and into Nintendo Switch Online, you will need to Login again to change over the Region. You won't need to do anything else in there.
Tumblr media
3. Then go back out and into News and go to the Splatoon 3 Channel & View All Available News if it isn't already the first post on their Channel. Just click on the Article and Scroll all the way down and Click on This:
Tumblr media
4. Your banners should be at the Terminal in the Lobby!
You can change your Region back as soon as you're done receiving your Banners the same way you did it the first time. And you will also need to Log back in to Nintendo Switch Online on your Switch.
Happy Banner Getting!

New game: Drop Google Chrome's market share 2023.
Why? Monopolies are bad and that's what's gonna happen if things don't even out a bit.
Why is it bad if Google has a monopoly? Because google already tracks the shit out of you, that's why. They collect and market your data. Yes, even in incognito mode. Just because your search history isn't being saved, doesn't mean google hasn't logged away where you've been or what you've searched for their own purposes. Imagine what more they'll do if the competition snuffs out?
"But I'll use an ad-blocker. I'm good." Not on Chrome you won't, because they're killing off ad-blockers in 2023, literally as soon as January- that's less than two months away. Gee... I wonder why they'd be doing that...
I recommend Firefox.
I switched a couple months ago and it's seriously so good.
It takes literal minutes to switch, you can import your bookmarks, passwords, browsing history, and even your open tabs from chrome to firefox.
Oh- and they don't collect and market your data.
And the extensions are amazing:
uBlock Origin blocks ads, trackers, coin miners, popups, etc. Hate those annoying ads before YouTube videos? I haven't had one since installing- and it literally never occurred to me for some reason that ad blockers would work on YouTube too. (It also got rid of the ads on tumblr, which I also didn't expect to happen)
There's Auto Tab Discard for people like me who always have a ton of tabs open. It puts your inactive tabs to sleep (but doesn't close them! important!) to help save memory and battery
Facebook Container keeps Facebook from tracking you around the web. (Includes Insta and Facebook messenger)
There's Image Search Options, for when you want to properly credit an artist, or need to find the source of an image. You just right-click on the image and it gives you a list of 10+ top reverse image search engines to click on, and when you click one it automatically plugs the image into the search!
Youtube Audio saves you bandwidth and battery when you just want audio from YouTube (aka: to use Youtube as a music streaming service or listening to narration videos/podcasts)
Then of course there's XKit Rewritten, which I'm sure you'll already recognize as the thing that enhances the tumblr experience.
And there's so many others!
And I get it if you don't like change, and don't wanna deal if the browser appearance is either different than you're used to, or worse- ugly. I get it, I do. But the good news is if the only thing holding you back is that you've gotten used to how Chrome looks, Firefox Dark theme is literally so similar I didn't even notice the difference when I switched. (And I imagine the same is true of the light theme) There's also literally a whole library of themes if you want a more customized look!
And some of you might be thinking "But I have a google account! GMail, Drive- Everything! Won't I have to stop using all that if I switch?" NOPE. Being logged into Google isn't the same as being logged into Chrome. You can log right into Google on Firefox same as you would on any other browser and your experience with your mail, drive, etc. will be just the same as if you were in Chrome, just without the collecting and marketing of your data. (That reminds me, There's also extensions to prevent google from tracking you as well, like "Don't track me Google" and "Google Container")
But seriously, Firefox is so great. Not only does it not track you and market your data, it's genuinely just a better experience than Chrome.
If you've been putting off switching, consider this your sign to do it.

Reason I HAte Jamie No. 46849
'If I hadn't believed in you I wouldn't have loved you at all' from If I Didn't Believe In You
so much of this show is Cathy thinking about her insecurities. Jamie is so successful and she isn't, and throughout the show we get her talent confused with her insecurity: in Climbing Uphill we see her unsuccessful audition and how terribly it goes, and we as an audience are supposed to think she's a bad actress/singer, but she spends the summer touring, and we know that this is something that she does regularly:
'Is it just that you're disappointed To be touring again for the summer?'
Touring isn't a bad job for an actor. It's not Broadway, it's not her dream, but it's a good job and it takes work and talent. Jason Robert Brown got sued by his ex, and consequently had to change parts of the show because it was too close to the reality of their marriage. In other words, the writer is Jamie, the entire show is told by Jamie, and even the songs from Cathy's perspective are written and told by Jamie. Given everything else in the show, I'm not particularly inclined to trust Jamie's account if he's the one telling us that she's bad at her job.
In If I Didn't Believe In You Cathy doesn't want to go to one of Jamie's work parties. She's feeling frustrated about her own career and doesn't feel like spending the evening faking it to appease Jamie's colleagues. So Jamie digs into that. The entire song is very manipulative, but with these lines it fits into a continued theme throughout the show of saying that because Cathy hasn't managed to reach the pinnacle of an incredibly competitive field that she is automatically bad at her job and completely unskilled. Which we know isn't true, because otherwise she wouldn't be touring.
When Jamie says:
'If I hadn't believed in you I wouldn't have loved you at all'
what he's really saying is if I didn't think you would be successful, I wouldn't love you. But because her success is constantly conflated with her talent, when Jamie is talking about her success, he's also talking about her talent, so he's also saying that his love for her is dependent on her being talented, which he is measuring by her success.
Also, for the rest of the song Jamie says 'If I didn't believe in you' not 'hadn't'. I'm probably simplifying this a lot, but in this context, 'Didn't' works in the past and the conditional present tense. 'Hadn't' works in the past and conditional past tense. When Jamie switches to 'hadn't' at the end, he's saying that his belief in her is in the past tense. When Jamie says 'I wouldn't have loved you' that's in past tense too. His belief in her, and his love for her, which are intrinsically tied, are both in the past tense, because she has failed, because she is untalented. The song ends with him confirming all of her worst insecurities and saying he no longer loves her, and the next and final line is:
'Now why don't you put on your dress and we'll go, okay? Cathy? Can we do that, please? Please?'
In other words, the last few lines of this song is Jamie saying telling his wife yes, you're right, you don't have a good job, and you'll never get a better one, you'll never be successful, because you're not talented, and I don't love you anymore, because I only loved you because I thought that you could be successful one day, so why don't you just shut up, stop whining and do as I say, and come to my party to celebrate me and my work and my success.
I hate this man more that I can say.

Making of Monday - Tracking Word Counts
On Making of Monday, we share behind the scenes of one of our works past, present, or future. All the little things that would fit into a DVD bonus content section: cut scenes, outlines, director's writer's commentary, or basically any thing that didn't make it into the final version. Send me an ask if you're interested in knowing little details about any particular fic!
This week, I decided to show my word count spreadsheet that I've been meticulously using and crafting for coming up on two years now. It wasn't built in a day, and I'm almost constantly tweaking it to make it look nice and functional as I keep writing.
Uh, fair warning. This is not a very exciting post. Unless you like numbers and data, like I do.
Tumblr media
For the sake of my own sanity, I started a new Excel document for the new year. This is my Summary page for the year 2024. I have pages created already for each month but hide them when it isn't that month. I'll show the Overview page next after I've explained what you're looking at.
So what you see here is my monthly and annual writing totals. This only takes into account new words written, although the start number at the top of each yearly column includes my running word count. Each month's number is automatically updated from the corresponding month's page, and added up in the total column.
On the side, I have fun projections. So if I wanted to write x number of words per year, not counting the words I have already written, I would need to write y number of words per month with an average of z number of words per day. It's not something I pay too much attention to, just for fun. Below that is a projection of if I write the NaNoWriMo daily count (1667 words per day) or 1000 words per day, how much that would add up to at the end of the year.
Tumblr media
This is the Overview page from last year (2023) plus December 2022 which is when I switched over from my previous Google Sheets document. Additionally at the bottom you can see the different monthly pages that are not hidden (I color coded them because I was bored one day).
This page keeps track of my daily totals in the form of a color gradient, linked to the monthly pages to get the totals.
Solid Red = 0
Solid Yellow = 1000
Solid Green = 1667 (NaNoWriMo Daily; 50,000 words in a 30 day month)
Originally, the idea was to be able to look at it and see if there were time periods that I wasn't writing as well due to being busy for various reasons, so I could be able to predict in the future what conditions weren't great for writing. But an interesting side effect is it's also able to track my good days and my bad days for health reasons.
That random number you see on the right side is my highest daily word count. I was curious about it, but I couldn't figure out a way to make it look pretty and fit in with everything else.
Tumblr media
This is my month page, divided by each individual project. Y is series or event with multiple fics involved, Z is one-shots, two-shots, or very short fics. The greyed out ones at the top are ones I'm not actively working on, the ones in green are fics that I am either actively working on or trying to work on.
Also at the top are the new words added each month (which is the cell used in other pages to keep track of the monthly number), the total words in all my documents, and the daily average for the month.
The color gradient at the top for each day follows the same pattern as before; Solid Red = 0, Solid Yellow = 1000, Solid Green = 1667+
I keep track of the word count for each chapter, add the total, subtract it from the previous day, and boom, that's my daily total. If there are times where I delete things, I throw it into a document called "Binned" to balance the numbers. That way, I never subtract from the amount of words I've written, only add.
While it may look like a very simple sheet, it is very messy with formulas, conditional formatting, etc. If I were more skilled at Excel, I could probably improve it even more, but at this point, there's very little maintenance needed to keep it going and I can focus on actually writing.
In theory.

Hello all, sorry for the delay, I've been trying to work through an issue and due to Issues™ I'm looking to switch how I take notes.
I've been using Evernote since 2014 (ever since I started this blog I use it to write on my phone in lunch break and between classes, then copy it off the desktop client and finish up with my word processor when I got home, been doing that for some years now) and my account was hacked into, based on my access history. It was a live person, bc based on update history they went through and opened up individual notes. Apparently Evernote doesn't automatically block suspicious logins nor inform you of them (I only found out bc it prompted me to upgrade to pro bc I logged in on a new device), which is just great.
Obviously a bunch of smut fanfiction and journal entries probably isn't of any value to these people, but I did have plenty of personal info and passwords dating back years and thousands of notes. And all in all it's just creepy. I know likely nothing will happen, but just to be safe I've spent some hours now going through painstakingly changing all my passwords/logins just to be careful, and trying to export the notes just in case. Evernote customer service has decided to ignore me apparently.
So, anyone else know of a good word application that will save/work cross-platform (Android phone and windows PC), that isn't Google drive?
Finally, for anyone else, apparently according to what I've been seeing as I looked this up, Evernote has a bad history of security breaches and this happens to users a lot, so if you use it you might want to consider merging over to another platform too.

Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth - Review
This is the second Team Ladybug game on Steam, it came after Touhou Luna Nights, which I reviewed.
Despite being interested in it only because it was a Team Ladybug Metroidvania, it did a great job of making me interested in the source material, which I will be reading into very soon.
Tumblr media
To explain the plot of the game, first I need to give some context.
The setting is based on a series of light novels called Record of Lodoss War, they date back to the 80s, and another novel was released not too long ago, 12 years after the last one, and this game serves kind of like an introduction to this new series of novels in a way.
The game does give you some backstory, enough to establish its own, coherent narrative, and even without reading the novels, I feel this game can be enjoyed, along with its themes.
Though I would imagine reading the novels and then playing this game would be nice for the fans since you would know all the characters and their backstories.
The plot of the game is pretty simple, you are told there was once a group of heroes who brought peace to the land of Lodoss, and that the only girl in the group, Deedlit the elf, fell in love with a human.
She wakes up in an unknown place, with her memories feeling hazy, she must travel the labyrinth she finds herself into and discover what she is truly doing there.
As I mentioned, you will find several characters from the original series, from protagonists to major antagonists, but despite the game not explaining each character, you can see a theme in Deedlit's journey, and it's one of sorrow and loss.
The game doesn't have that much dialogue, but in the little it has it's able to convey those emotions at the end of the game, there is not much else to talk about in terms of plot, so it's time to talk about the gameplay.
The gameplay is just a bit similar to Castlevania Symphony of the Night, but there are big differences, for one, you can aim in 8 directions for your attack, and you also have a bow you can freely aim.
Magic works similarly as it does in Touhou Luna Nights, but there is one more mechanic that mixes things up, very early on in the game, you get wind and fire spirits, and you can switch between which one is active.
This changes the element of your attacks, and when you have any of them active, you can level up the other one by defeating enemies, by reaching the max level, you automatically regain health while having that spirit active, getting hit removes a whole level though.
Another property the spirits have is that you completely absorb the damage of the same element, which replenishes your MP, which reminds me of Ikaruga in a way.
I like this system very much, at the start I thought it would make things too easy, but you die pretty fast if you are not careful, and the HP recovery rate is not that high to feel like it removes danger completely.
I especially like this system in bosses that use both of the elements, it's very satisfying for me to learn their patterns to optimally defeat them.
The level design is also alright, it's the typical "unlocking an ability or key to progress" kind of design, but it also takes the spirit changing into account, including obstacles that need it to be surpassed.
While the level design isn't as great as in Touhou Luna Nights, it's still pretty good.
Enemies are also pretty standard, what stands out are the bosses, as I mentioned before, they put the spirit changing to the test, and they all have at least one tricky attack that might need some figuring out.
The boss rush has the same issue it had on Touhou Luna Nights though, they have the original health, making it so the first few die in just a couple of hits.
The game has some extra features though, after you complete the game once you can pick a number of modifiers to the game, like always staying on level 1, 1 HP, spirit levels being always 1, or retaining all of your learned spells.
For me, that increases replayability quite a lot, I kind of wish these types of settings were retroactively added into Touhou Luna Nights, these challenge runs in Metroidvanias are very fun to try, and giving you the choice to pick exactly what you want makes me more willing to try one.
And that is pretty much all there is to the gameplay, it's pretty solid overall.
The only stuff left to mention is the graphics and music, and they are both fantastic.
Team Ladybug did a great job yet again, the sprite work is incredible, just like with Touhou Luna Nights, visually the game is eye-candy, though the afterimage of the Deedlit can be bothersome sometimes, you can turn it off if you want.
And that's pretty much it, I heavily recommend this game, even if you never heard of Record of Lodoss war or haven't read the novels yet, I think this game holds up on its own, And if you are a fan of the series already, it will be a very cool experience.

hey imane, this is such a dumb question but inshallah you will not hate me for it: how do you not want to die when you go to the gym.... i want to improve my health and my parents doomed me to live in the north where the weather is terrible for most of the year, so the gym feels like my best option, but exercise itself is so painful and sweaty and i have never felt this "high" that people talk about getting from exercise! i would appreciate any advice at all! also i finally caught up on demon slayer because of you, it was so good (should i read the manga?) ☆
naaur it's not a dumb question on the contrary!! I've been struggling with keeping up with going to the gym or just exercising in general because it feels like a task to be done rather than something that gives me a high or something so i totally feel you. i do like moving around and feeling like i'm getting stronger (i mostly lift weight + light cardio) but idk about that mental boost people talk about either lmao.
i can only speak from my perspective so my goal at the moment isn't even to do the most at the gym and get me into shape in a month or something, I'm literally just trying to build the habit of going to the gym. heading there is a struggle too so i have to put myself in automatic mode and go no question asked. i also tell my friend to hold me accountable so i send them a pic where i get there otherwise I've given them license to punch me in the arm lmao.
another thing that helped me is switching gyms to go to one that is bright, well lit, spacious, and never overcrowded. i used to go to a cheaper one and i was pretty regular but i just haaaaated the place so much it was dank dark musty crusty ew ew ew.
having an idea of the workout you wanna do is also important once you get there so you can just go through your workout like a checklist and then head out after a good stretch! I'm getting back into the swing of things so I'm watching beginner videos from naomi kong on youtube, she really doesn't overdo it and outside of my own self-mandated light cardio warm-up (cycling) and finisher (inclined walk on the treadmill) it really didn't break a sweat.
so yeah to build the habit of just doing it, i am actually going everyday until i feel like i can trust myself with doing it every other day. mind you i don't do a "real" workout every day, i actually did a full body three days ago, just light cardio for 30 minutes yesterday to get my limbs moving and my blood pumping, and today was leg day. I'm gonna go tomorrow for a swim i think just to switch up the way i do my cardio and then on Monday it's gonna be upper body day and I'll probably follow another naomi kong beginner's guide to the gym.
so my tips for consistency and learning to like going to the gym:
go as many times as possible during the week just to make you used to going there
don't do big workouts!! your body doesn't need to go into failure every time. my legs used to shake like i was a newborn fawn bc i was following my friend's workout routine and it was not sustainable mentally for me lol. i just do my reps with lower weights than i used to just to get my body used to the movements and to make my mind disassociate "working out" with "sweating and suffering". it's like pavlov lol positive reinforcement is key
switch up your workouts so that it feels fresh! what i did today for leg day isn't what I'm gonna be doing for my next leg day for example bc i get bored easily
speaking of getting bored easily usually i either watch a bunch of youtube videos, listen to podcasts, read a book on my phone, or switch to an audiobook when my hands are busy because otherwise my mind wanders and i want to leave from being bored out of my mind. however today i did have a lot on my mind so i ended up listening to newjeans songs they have the perfect beat for working out
if your gym offers collective classes try one out! suffering together makes the pain easier to bear <3 that used to be what got me through english boxing classes years ago when i used to go... my objective is actually to go back to boxing classes (this time muay thai i think) by the end of the year and then the gym every other day or something for weight lifting, swimming, or a class of pilates or dance or smt that sounds fun
ok that was a really long answer lmao i'm also at the beginning of a journey that i hope will be consistent and sustainable!! i hope we can motivate each other out as northern country dwellers who have to contend with the wind the rain and the snow <3 also yaaaaay I'm so happy you watched demon slayer! and YES read the manga, the next arc is chill and cute but what follows... if you don't binge it all til the end i'd be surprised but also that'd mean you're much stronger than me which is a good thing if you can apply it to going to the gym as well akjfdklgj anyway good luck keep me updated babe insha'Allah we can do it!!

Hi! So, I had to make an entirely new account on Tumblr (long story), and I noticed that when I press the home button which should take me to the dashboard, it specifically takes me to the for you page. However, there are specifiers if you go between the tabs:
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard on old account -> following page
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard on new account -> for you page
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/following on both accounts -> following page, as indicated
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard/stuff_for_you -> for you page, as indicated
Would it be possible to make the home button go directly to /dashboard/following instead of just /dashboard, that way new accounts aren't automatically forced into algorithmic shit? It's especially annoying for me since I have tabs hidden normally, and I'd rather not have to show them to switch to following every single time I want to see new posts lol
That would certainly be possible! The only reason that isn't already fixed (as I had assumed it was) is that Tumblr doesn't seem to fire its onNavigation event when navigating to a page you're already on, in this case /dashboard/following to /dashboard.

Regarding the prosopagnosia, it could have been brought up because Veronika likes to randomly talk about interesting topics, there isn’t actually any visible evidence that Teruko suffers from it herself. And the lack of presence of Arei and J could be linked to Teruko being so detached from the group so of course we wouldn’t see much of them, if we are sticking with the protagonist who trying is to be a loner then you aren’t gonna see them unless they go out of their way to do so.
Tumblr media
//"There isn't any visible evidence that Teruko suffers from it herself"
//Yes. There is. That was foreshadowed right from the start.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
//She had no clue who Charles was until Hu brought up his hair and what he was wearing. This was not her being distrustful, as she was more willing to trust and listen to people in Chapter 1. This was her genuinely not knowing what Hu was talking about.
//You might just think of that as a funny one-off moment, but no, this comes back in her discussion with Veronika.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
//Veronika asking about prosopagnosia doesn't just come out of nowhere. This was a question based on these exact sorts of responses. Teruko does not have the ability to differentiate between faces; at no point in the story has she actually made any comments about anyone's face or what they look like beyond hair color, eye color and clothes.
//Which, yes, that's a real thing that people with the condition cite as their means of recognizing others, along with things like voices and physical attributes like scars or tattoos.
//This is not Teruko being mistrustful, we know that's when she pulls the knife on people. The fact that they draw attention to it like this, and specifically name drop prosopagnosia right afterward is why I harp on it so much. That's a deliberate creative choice.
//I have to lean into the idea that, yes, she actually does have the condition. And yes, it's going to be relevant to this entire game and her character arc.
//Furthermore, having this dropped on us right before the BDA? I mean, does that not seem like it's going to be relevant? How many other seemingly innocuous things get dropped on us as the audience that turn out to be very important?
//As for J and Arei, yeah, I get that. My point is, if we as the audience are stuck to Teruko's POV for everything, then that naturally means we only see as much as she can see. But you also have to take into account that means things can happen off-screen that we are not aware of.
//Does it seem like too much of a stretch to assume that those two, who already look fairly similar and have fairly comparable body types, could switch places and our POV character would ever notice? Or that her condition would mean any close examination wouldn't tell us anything about whose face it is?
//I mean that genuinely. Do people see this as too unbelievable? We've had other fangans where people found ways to disguise themselves as others, yet this is going too far?
//And before anyone brings it up, no, that does not mean everyone else would automatically know. Teruko was one of the only ones to examine Arei's body, the other being Arturo, who we know has every reason to half-ass his investigation. Not to mention nobody in-story would think to consider a disguise.
//Why does all of this seem too far for some people? We've had more elaborate and nonsensical killings before, and Teruko having this condition adds a whole new dimension to investigations in the future.

so tumblr wouldn't let me ask w/o an account so here i am-
so. hi. listen. i need to know. because i read re:mhny and a BEAUTIFUL Chekhov's gun stared me in the face just waiting to be fired??i think??- please tell me the control brains will have a role in re:mhny 3/4??? bc you're the only person i'd trust to do the concept justice and i understand if it's too late in your planning to play with but like, idk pls take my poor ideas perhaps you could be inspired-
wouldn't the control brains imply that irkens are a slave race? imagine Gaz having the AUDACITY of saying this to the Tallest, or Dib of all people not only learns of those specific dark facts (brains as overseers, irkens are grown not bred, pak holds so much more than gear, their minds, memories, abilities etc), comes to the realization, and it rips a chunk out of his view on irkens? or he looks at Zim with pity? in horror?
or something more interesting. The Control Brains use Zim's PAK against him. Zim doesn't realize, because he isn't the ''system administrator''. Maybe he's controlled, or thoughts/memories edited? Dib notices the subtle quirks, the loss in personality, Gaz notices the unnervingly nonsapient differences? Until Zim removes it for maintenance. Imagine the slowly dawning visceral terror as it hits him that he's much more aware, awake, alert without it drugging him? but- disconnection pens the 10 minute death warrant. I doubt he could constantly dis/reconnect, either.
oh yeah, first idea that hit me and i had to tell you- The Control Brains calculated the danger of Zim coming anywhere near the position of the Tallest. It's an objective fact such an outcome must be prevented. (if the irken race is slavery sanitized, perfection via calculating precision-free will is an illusion-, then leaders are knowingly produced. How else would the status quo be kept?) The Tallest know this. Zim knows this. Thus, not only the Tallest, but the Control Brains, must be removed. How, if murdering Zim where he stands is the automatic consequence for the thought? Easy, til the end. Deactivate the kill-switch. Pull the literal plug. Ten minutes to win.
Alternatively, with less 'me-editing-while-i-type-these-ideas-out-to-sound-coherent/add-more/sales-pitching-you':
Gaz stands where Zim once stood, staring at the irregularly sized and scattered crimson lenses of the Control Brains. There's a clarity that she's lost track of the remaining minutes.
Oho! Oho ho! Delighted! So delighted at fan theories ohoho!
I'm still MAD hungover from a lovely thanksgiving but I've long since honed the ability to type and not look at a screen so here we gooo.
SPOILERS/TEASERS UNDER THE CUT
First off, just to get it out of the way, I don't have any intention of trying to make a 4th Re:MHNY addition, mostly because of how my initial attempt at the 4th addition was so heavily entrenched in peer pressure and other ick. I won't go into it, but essentially, the series is going to stay a trilogy. We stan a trilogy.
The Control Brains are not going to rear their lil bulbous heads anytime soon, but I can confirm they're going to be in Re:MHNY3, as are the Tallest. I am most excited to redo the relationship between the Tallest and Zim.
The Irken Armada in fics as a whole is usually treated as a stepping stool for Zim to be King of the Hill, or for his Hero's Journey Redemption Arc. Which, don't get me wrong, some of my favorite fics have Zim end as a Tallest or Zim end as hero of Earth, but I personally HC something else that's going to be gently established as the story continues. I am still warring with the final cleanup, but I DO know some of it.
For your initial question, yes, absolutely. I think it might be canon (?) that the Irkens are a slave race, but don't quote me on that, brain is dehydrated and crispy. Regardless, for me, yes, I do think of the Irkens as enslaved, but heavily propagandized not to notice. According to them, they're not slaves, they're soldiers, when in fact they're both.
Gaz's 'audacity' in particular is a theme I'm looking forward to writing, and have actively already brainstormed. I do intend for Gaz to end up meeting the Tallest again, but unlike the original MHNY, you'll note that the Tallest are far less favorable to Zim at the end of the first story. They don't look at him with awe and admiration as they did in the original. They don't even know he has a mate, and that information is deliberately kept from them. They treat him with disdain, and Gaz notices and loathes it. They're not besties, they're dictators speaking to a subordinate they'd prefer was dead, and since he's been disillusioned, Zim knows that. The really fun thing about Re:MHNY is Zim doesn't have to imagine what Gaz does when face-to-face with someone with as much Absolute Authority(tm) as a Tallest. He's already seen it. Have a blurb from Re: 3!
Tumblr media
It's not a question of "can you imagine how they'd react?" because Zim already knows. He's counting on it and accounting for it. And that's going to be the fun part!
Now onto Dib! I can't say too much without actually spoiling Re:2 actually, but I can say that Dib IS going to find out more about Irken culture than Zim ever wanted to him to know. He brought up multiple time to Gaz in Re:MHNY how much he really doesn't want Dib to understand or know Irken business the way she does. The curtain being pulled back for Gaz doesn't mean the offer extends to her sibling, but Dib's never been one to know when to keep himself out of other people's business. How he does so is where I'll let the mystery sit.
Regarding Zim being beaten up by a CB, or in some way ctrl + alt + deleted, I borrow a lot of my lore from unpublished episodes too, including The Trial. It's therefore my HC that the Control Brains themselves can't touch Zim, and have in fact been infected to view him favorably. I'll go more into what happened in Re:3, and what attempts were made to fix any errors Zim caused, but the events of that unpublished episode are important enough to keep in mind when I get around to writing it. At this point though, the Armada has become afraid to try to destroy Zim without the CB's on their side. It's best for everyone if Zim is dead, but they'll settle for keeping him as far away from Irk and their leaders as possible, and keep humoring him to make sure he doesn't want to leave, which is where the end of MHNY: Re lands.
Brain is now slushie but I hope that tickles your fancy. Tysm for making a whole account just to share your enthusiasm about the direction of Re's future installments with me. I love and cherish every single one of my ao3/ff comments, but tumblr let's me go on monologues like this/gives me a place to upload teasers/art whenever I want to satisfy my readers during fic update gaps. Your username made me laugh audibly, but before you delete your account, I'd recommend perusing through my blog here if you're looking for more teasers.

Tl;Dr at the end.
So I'm a dev at a FAANG, whatever that is worth to you. Nothing special I hope, aside from what authority it might lend me on this topic. Unless you're a manager who wants to hire me in... A few years I guess? For a 100% raise? Anyway, more importantly, I've worked on large teams embedded in larger orgs.
I'm marveling at Twitter right now. You have to understand, there *is* bloat in stuff like microservices, but those cuts a few days back almost certainly slashed something that was already critical. Best case scenario, those teams lied to him about turning down a service. Somewhat better case, they could band aid two services into one. Worst case, something more than 2FA but more subtle was wiped.
That's all last shit though. By some accounts, entire products are just living on autopilot without a team right now. I'm not a twitter dev, but let me answer some points I've seen from an industry perspective.
1. Wasn't all that core code already written?
Yeah, for some function of written. Enterprise development isn't like a video game or OS, that gets written for N years, and rolled out to you in a (theoretically) stable state with only patches coming in thereafter. It's incomplete, and inefficient. The half finished parts are held up with planks and duct tape, and inefficiencies are in someone's backlog as tech debt.
That gets fixed, and business needs shift, and something new gets added that's incomplete and inefficient. Nowadays, this is called "agile", and it's honestly not as bad as I make it sound here. The whole point is getting new changes out fast, and being adaptable enough that can stop what you're doing to address a big problem. Not just self-inflicted ones either, but like if a big regulation sweeps through twitter and forces a big change in how your services have to work.
2. Well, it's still running now without someone, so it's clearly fine.
That nothing catastrophic has happened yet is marvelous, like I said. Despite his best efforts, Musk's ex-employees probably put some serious mitigation in place for nothing to catch fire yet.
Why though? In part it's like point 1: everything is at least a little bit broken. Yeah, sometimes that's self-inflicted. But also, shit just happens sometimes. A network call fails maybe. A one-in-a-million trigger of a race condition. A curious outside wiggling levers in the wrong direction. Whatever. This shit is literally always happening. Plenty of automatic mitigation is in place, but it's never foolproof.
If it happens 1:100 days per team, and you have 100 teams, on average that's 1 team a night who needs a manual hand to come in and flip a switch. That's to say nothing of catastrophies that happen in an actually staffed team.
3. Whatever, he can just hire new people
That's not how this works.
Step one, you gotta find people to do the work. I won't delude myself that he has 0 potential hires. But the thousands of people he fired? Yeah, literally just hiring that many people is months even when you *didn't* just put out an email about working 80 hour weeks for 40 hour pay.
But it isn't just that.
The oft-quoted number is that takes 6 months to go from new-hire to productive. Personally, I'd place things at like 9 months, and 6 months is the "feeling more comfortable" period.
4. Twitter devs were hardly working. Only 20% of the workforce was doing 80% of the work.
Tell me you've never been a developer without...
Okay, to start, I'm doubting these numbers. But fine. That extra 20% of work is still fucking critical. Put that on your top devs, and you'll lose them to annoyance immediately, or burnout in 2 months.
And, on the, uhm, "chance" one of these unicorn 20% devs left for greener pastures? And then on the "chance" that Twit fills that position with an identically skilled dev? Yeah, that's 6 months of ramp time babe. They're unicorns, I guess, let's say 1.5 months.
In summary
Something has to break. It's a marvel that nothing has broken yet honestly. That's... I mean that's just how this works y'all. The dev teams that fix it have left. And hiring someone new to fix it, in an absolute best case scenario, would be like 1.5 months of learning before they could do fuck all about a break.

VPN Configuration Errors on Smartphone
Title: Avoid These Common VPN Configuration Errors on Your Smartphone
Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) on your smartphone is essential for maintaining online privacy and security. However, configuring a VPN on your device isn't always straightforward, and errors in setup can compromise your anonymity and protection. Here are some common VPN configuration mistakes to avoid:
Incorrect Server Selection: Opting for the wrong VPN server can result in slower speeds and less reliable connections. Always choose a server that's geographically close to your location for optimal performance.
Ignoring Updates: VPN providers regularly release updates to their apps to patch security vulnerabilities and improve performance. Failing to update your VPN app can leave you susceptible to cyber threats.
Weak Passwords: Many VPN services require you to create an account with a password. Using a weak or easily guessable password increases the risk of unauthorized access to your VPN account and, consequently, your online activities.
Not Testing the Connection: After configuring your VPN, it's crucial to test the connection to ensure that it's working correctly. Failure to do so may leave you under the false impression that you're protected when, in reality, your traffic is unencrypted.
Leaving Kill Switch Disabled: A kill switch is a vital feature that automatically disconnects your device from the internet if the VPN connection drops. Failing to enable the kill switch leaves your data exposed whenever the VPN connection is interrupted.
Using Free VPNs: While tempting, free VPN services often come with limitations, such as data caps, slower speeds, and invasive data logging practices. Investing in a reputable paid VPN service is worth the added security and reliability.
By avoiding these common VPN configuration errors, you can ensure that your smartphone remains secure and your online activities remain private. Always take the time to configure your VPN properly and stay vigilant against potential threats.
Network Connectivity Issues with VPN on Mobile
Title: Troubleshooting Network Connectivity Issues with VPN on Mobile Devices
In an age where mobile devices are indispensable for both personal and professional activities, ensuring a stable and secure network connection is paramount. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have become a popular tool for safeguarding online privacy and accessing restricted content. However, users often encounter network connectivity issues when using VPNs on their mobile devices, disrupting their online experience.
One common problem is the inconsistency of VPN connections. Users may find that their VPN disconnects frequently, leading to interruptions in browsing or communication. This issue can stem from various factors, including network congestion, server overload, or compatibility issues with the VPN app.
Another challenge users face is slow connection speeds while using a VPN on their mobile devices. Although VPNs encrypt data for security purposes, this encryption process can sometimes result in slower internet speeds. Additionally, connecting to a VPN server located far away from the user's physical location can further exacerbate this issue.
Moreover, compatibility issues between the VPN app and the mobile device's operating system can lead to network connectivity problems. Updates to the device's operating system or the VPN app itself may introduce bugs or compatibility issues, causing the VPN to malfunction.
To troubleshoot network connectivity issues with VPN on mobile devices, users can try several solutions. These include selecting a different VPN server, updating the VPN app to the latest version, or reinstalling the app altogether. Additionally, users can troubleshoot their mobile device's network settings or contact their VPN provider for assistance.
In conclusion, while VPNs offer enhanced privacy and security for mobile users, they can also present network connectivity challenges. By understanding the common issues and implementing troubleshooting measures, users can enjoy a seamless and secure online experience on their mobile devices.
VPN App Compatibility Problems on Phone
Virtual Private Network (VPN) apps are a popular tool for maintaining online privacy and security. However, users may encounter compatibility issues when using these apps on their phones.
One common problem is app conflicts. Some VPN apps may not work well with certain operating systems or other apps on the phone. This can lead to crashes, frozen screens, or other performance issues. To avoid this, users should make sure to update both their VPN app and operating system regularly.
Another issue is connectivity problems. Some VPN apps have trouble maintaining a stable connection on mobile networks, especially when switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data. Users can try switching servers or changing connection protocols to see if this improves the situation.
Furthermore, battery drain can be a concern when using VPN apps on phones. Encrypting and routing internet traffic through a VPN can be resource-intensive, leading to faster battery consumption. Users can mitigate this by choosing VPN apps known for their efficiency and making sure to close the app when not in use.
In conclusion, while VPN apps are valuable tools for enhancing online security and privacy, they may present compatibility challenges on phones. By staying informed about potential issues and implementing troubleshooting strategies, users can optimize their VPN experience on mobile devices.
Firewall or Security Software Blocking VPN on Device
When using a VPN service on your device, such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet, you may encounter a situation where a firewall or security software is blocking the VPN connection. This can be frustrating, but it is essential to understand why this may be happening and how to resolve the issue.
Firewalls and security software are designed to protect your device and network from potential threats, such as malware, unauthorized access, and data breaches. In some cases, these security measures can mistakenly identify VPN connections as suspicious activity and block them to prevent any potential risks.
To address this issue, there are several steps you can take:
Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that the firewall settings on your device are not blocking the VPN connection. You may need to whitelist the VPN application or allow the VPN traffic through the firewall.
Disable Security Software Temporarily: If you suspect that your security software is causing the VPN connection issue, try disabling it temporarily to see if the VPN connection is established successfully. Remember to re-enable the security software once the VPN is connected.
Update VPN Application: Make sure that your VPN application is up to date. Developers often release updates to improve compatibility with different devices and security software.
Contact VPN Support: If you have tried the above steps and are still having trouble connecting to the VPN due to firewall or security software blocking, contact the VPN provider's support team for assistance. They may provide specific instructions or settings to help you resolve the issue.
By following these steps and understanding why a firewall or security software may block a VPN connection, you can enjoy a secure and private online browsing experience without any interruptions.
ISP or Network Provider Restrictions Impacting VPN Functionality
Title: Navigating VPN Functionality Amidst ISP or Network Provider Restrictions
In today's digital landscape, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have become indispensable tools for safeguarding online privacy and security. However, the effectiveness of VPNs can be hindered by restrictions imposed by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or network providers. These restrictions can significantly impact VPN functionality, posing challenges for users seeking anonymity and unrestricted access to online content.
One common restriction imposed by ISPs is the throttling of VPN connections. ISPs may intentionally slow down VPN traffic, leading to decreased browsing speeds and a less responsive online experience for users. This tactic is often employed to discourage the use of VPNs or to prioritize other types of internet traffic. As a result, individuals relying on VPNs for activities such as streaming, gaming, or accessing geo-blocked content may encounter frustratingly slow connections.
Moreover, some ISPs actively block or restrict access to VPN services altogether. By identifying and blocking VPN server IP addresses or employing deep packet inspection techniques, ISPs can prevent users from establishing VPN connections. This poses a significant challenge for individuals in regions with strict internet censorship or those who rely on VPNs to bypass geo-restrictions and access content from around the world.
Additionally, network providers in corporate or educational settings may implement policies that restrict the use of external VPN services. These restrictions are often motivated by security concerns or the need to enforce acceptable use policies. While these measures aim to protect network integrity and prevent unauthorized access, they can limit employees' or students' ability to utilize VPNs for legitimate purposes such as accessing confidential work resources or enhancing personal privacy.
In conclusion, while VPNs offer valuable benefits in terms of privacy and security, their functionality can be compromised by ISP or network provider restrictions. To mitigate these challenges, users may need to explore alternative VPN protocols, utilize obfuscation techniques to evade detection, or seek out VPN providers that offer specialized solutions for circumventing restrictions. Additionally, advocating for net neutrality regulations and promoting awareness of online privacy rights can help address the underlying issues contributing to VPN restrictions imposed by ISPs and network providers.

Best Guide On How To Manage Your Personal Finances
Do you need help making your money last? If so, you're not alone, as most people do. Saving money and spending less isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, especially when the temptation to buy is great. The personal finance tips below can help you fight that temptation.
You can save on energy bills by using energy efficient appliances. Switch out those old light bulbs and replace them with Energy Star compliant ones. This will save on your energy bill and give your lamps a longer lifespan. Using energy efficient toasters, refrigerators and washing machines, can also help you save a lot of money in the long haul.
Set up a bank account for emergency funds, and do not use it for any daily expenses. An emergency fund should only be used for any unexpected expense that is out of the ordinary. Keeping your emergency fund separate from your regular account will give you the peace of mind that you will have money to use when you most need it.
To get out of debt faster, you should pay more than the minimum balance. This should considerably improve your credit score and by paying off your debt faster, you do not have to pay as much interest. This saves you money that you can use to pay off other debts.
Every time you get a raise, set aside at least half of the new, after-tax increase for saving more each month. You will still enjoy a higher income and will never miss the extra money which you were never used to spending. It is even better if you set up your paycheck or checking account to transfer the money to savings automatically.
Your cell phone is an expense that can vary, depending on the frequency of use. If there are applications or programs that you do not use on your phone, cut these out immediately. Payments for services that you are not making use of, should be eliminated as soon as possible to reduce spending.
Use cash for purchases. Eliminate credit cards and debit cards and use cash for purchases. Use the envelope system to allocate a budget for monthly expenses. Have a separate envelope for each different type of expense, and place a specific amount of cash in each one. This way, you won't over-spend on any monthly expenses. A good idea is to have another envelope marked 'emergency', containing cash that can only be used if really necessary. Seal this envelope, as this will make you less tempted to 'borrow' from it.
One of the best things that you can do in order to effectively manage your personal finances is by educating yourself about it. Make an effort to read financial magazines from well-known and successful people. You can also check the internet for reputable content about this topic. Knowledge is key to being successful in everything.
Comb through your monthly budget and find things that you don't use or you use it so little that you don't get any benefit out of the money that you spend. In this way, you can save some money each and every month by canceling those services.
Understand that keeping track of your personal finances requires actual effort. It's not enough to simply add up some things in your head. Keep track of your monthly spending by thoroughly checking all statements and receipts. You need to be on top of things if something's not lining up right.
Starting your kids out early and teaching them about personal financial issues, is a great way to help them in the future. Teach them the importance of saving by getting them a piggy bank, and let them understand what it means to work by paying for chores completed. Try to keep credit out of the equation.
Even if you are trying to build up your credit it is not a wise idea to apply for too many credit cards at once. Each time a creditor makes an inquiry it lowers your credit score so applying for too much credit will actually cause more harm than good.
To help yourself cut back your spending, track your spending. There are many free spending tracking applications available for phones and computers. Take a look at what you're spending the most money on, and see how essential it is. Seeing where your money goes each month can be sobering, and will let you know what areas cutbacks should be focused on.
You, like many other people, may need help making your money last longer than it does now. Everyone needs to learn how to use money wisely and how to save for the future. This article made great points on fighting temptation. By making application, you'll soon see your money being put to good use, plus a possible increase in available funds.

𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐞, 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭: 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲, 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬❗
Tumblr media
In the realm of online commerce, Craigslist serves as a bustling marketplace for thousands seeking to buy and sell goods and services. Yet, navigating this platform isn't always seamless for both sellers and buyers. This is where the role of proxies in Craigslist posting becomes crucial.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲❓
A Craigslist proxy serves as a virtual intermediary between your device and the server, allowing you to manipulate your apparent IP address and location to circumvent specific restrictions. Visualize it as follows:
Proxies serve as a go-between, managing the communication between the user and the server. These proxies undergo rotation every hour, ensuring that you receive a fresh IP address every 60 minutes. They exclusively utilize residential proxies, providing authentic IP addresses from real devices. Internet platforms recognize these residential proxies as originating from home-based locations. Consequently, regardless of your actual whereabouts, you will present yourself as a typical user accessing the site from a residential setting.
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫❓
The significance of utilizing a Craigslist proxy lies in the platform's strict restrictions, particularly concerning VPN usage. Craigslist actively prohibits connections from VPN servers to prevent users from bypassing geographical restrictions. Detecting VPN servers is relatively straightforward, given the constant and widespread usage by multiple individuals.
In contrast, identifying a Craigslist proxy is a more challenging task. Firstly, it doesn't raise suspicion, as it mimics the appearance of a regular home device user. Additionally, the automatic rotation of IP addresses every hour ensures a consistently refreshed connection. This makes proxies a more secure choice for Craigslist activities compared to VPN services, offering reassurance that your account won't face the risk of being banned.
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐬❓
𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲: 📝 Proxies empower you to post multiple ads without revealing your true identity. By masking your IP address, you can create numerous accounts seamlessly. Switch to a different proxy server for each account, ensuring a discreet and unobtrusive posting process.
𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐞𝐨-𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐲𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬: 🌍 Proxies act as virtual passports, allowing you to access Craigslist from any country. By selecting the desired country through a proxy server, you can effectively target foreign audiences. Expand your reach and connect with potential buyers from different locations.
𝐁𝐲𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐏 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: 🚧 If your access to Craigslist is denied or blocked, proxies provide a solution. Simply choose a proxy server from your location to bypass restrictions and regain seamless access. This ensures that you can continue viewing, buying, and selling on Craigslist without interruption.
𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬: 👤 Prioritize your privacy while engaging in Craigslist transactions. Proxies help you remain anonymous by hiding your IP address and, consequently, your location. While your profile information remains public, proxies offer an extra layer of privacy for a secure buying and selling experience.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐬❓
Using Craigslist proxies involves a few straightforward steps to ensure a secure and effective browsing experience. Here’s a simple guide on how to use Craigslist proxies:
𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫: ⚙️ Begin by choosing a reputable proxy service offering secure and dedicated IP addresses. A trustworthy provider ensures the reliability of your proxy connection.
𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧: 🔄 Sign up for a Craigslist proxy plan tailored to your needs. Plans may differ in IPs, locations, and features, so select one that aligns with your specific Craigslist requirements.
𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬: 🔑 Upon signup, your chosen proxy service will furnish you with login credentials, including the IP address and port number. Keep these details accessible for configuring your browser settings.
