,,,, russian bruce wayne
Russian Bruce Wayne
RUSSIAN BRUCE WAYNE -
Listen. Listen. Not fully compacted into something coherent, but I'll do my best, because this idea has been haunting me, -
SO he's russian on his mother's side!! Martha Wayne immigrated in America when she was a teenager, nothing to her name but hope in her chest and her mother's pearl necklace in her pocket
She always got ugly looks for speaking in her native language and her accent. Slowly, it melted into something perfectly English, but she still spoke Russian at home and especially to Bruce
Little Bruce loved Baba Yaga as a kid and dressed like her for Halloween every single year; Nobody really understood it, but a glare from Alfred was enough to fill a bag full of candy
Martha and Bruce would talk shit in front of Thomas' faux philanthropist friends, but they were on wildly different spectrums
Martha, whispering: You see that man, Brucie? He sold his soul to greed. He's a worm of a human and his morals are rotten. That's why his eyes are dead
Bruce: haha, he's balding at 25
Martha, Alfred, and Bruce cooking beef stroganoff, syriniki, borscht, and Bruce's absolute favorite- pirozhki.
Martha also played the piano and LOVED Swan Lake so, so much. It was the one song that calmed Bruce during night terrors.
When he reaches eight, it all stops.
He eventually reconnects with his Russian roots in his 20s, when he's in college and his literature teacher shares a DISRESPECTFULLY incorrect opinion about one of Dostoevsky's works.
His teacher scoffed, " Well. Didn't know we had a Russian citizen here. "
" Not a citizen, but I AM a Russian descendent. My mother was an immigrant. That's kind of how America was formed. It's a pretty significant thing that happened."
Imagine you're a Gotham criminal and Batman starts muttering things about you in Russian. Somehow that's even more intimidating than anything he does.
" I can't believe they're more afraid of someone who doesn't speak English than a guy who beats up people dressed as a bat."
Alfred hums, sloooowly pulling away the vodka cereal Bruce made. " I can't imagine why. You're the poster child for mental health, sir."
" Not funny, papachka"
" For you."
When Dick is brought into the nest, Bruce struggles a bit with showing his affections; He only has money to offer, but Dick is happily uninterested in that, and seeks Bruce out instead.
BRUCE ABSOLUTELY SPENDS AN ENTIRE NIGHT TRYING TO PERFECT HIS MOTHER'S BAKLAVA FOR DICK!!
yes he's supposed to be on patrol. No, he doesn't care, Jim. It's all worth it when Dick takes a single bite and he has stars in his eyes and vines his little but strong arms around him, " this is PERFECT! Thank you so much, dad"
Air freezes in his blood, " ... Of course, ptichka."
He absolutely uses russian proverbs all the time (mostly when his children need to be reprimanded and reminded that making jokes is illegal when they're on duty)
JASON AND BRUCE FIGHTING OVER TRANSLATIONS AND CONTEXT IN ENGLISH ADAPTATIONS OF SLAVIC LITERATURE!
" PAPI, THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY MEANT TO SAY!"
" MISKHA I'M SO GRATEFUL YOUR GRANDMA ISN'T HERE, BECAUSE SHE'D DIE AGAIN IF SHE HEARD YOU SAY THAT!"
Damian 100000% prides himself on knowing russian and communicating with Bruce the smoothest.
It becomes a competition soon enough. Bruce is SO tired but the way they butcher words is funny, so he just pretends they're right.
The League finds out when Bruce snaps and calls Hal Cyka in a low, angry mutter while stomping away from his stupidity. " ... Bless you? What did he call me?"
Diana, struggling so hard not to laugh. " He said you were a genius."
" Huh. Had no idea he was French."
Meanwhile Clark is losing HIS shit because wow, Bruce's russian might be the hottest thing he ever heard. Please, this dork would absolutely try to learn Russian and talk to Bruce more.
He's absolutely horrible with it but Bruce is just very excited. He definetly chuckles (which. Wow. Clark couldn't even make him GRIN 3 weeks ago) " You just asked me if I sleep with my dentist."
" ...Oh. I...Was trying to ask you for drinks. You can kill me right now. Please?"
" Maybe another time, solnyshko. Take me for a drink first."
Clark inhales. " oKaY thank yoU."

Thank you so much for debunking the whole "Dick was a super angry child" thing the fandom has been pressing hard for the last few years it's one of my pet peeve characterization for him. (The other him being a Playboy) Does he get angry of course he does he's only human but he's usually very level head and even if he was the "Angry Robin" when he first started he was 8 years old and just lost his parents! I feel like anyone especially a child would be hurt and angry then but he didn't want revenge he wanted justice. He was a sweet child who just wanted to make his parents proud.
og post in question
Yes!!
Actually another anon asked me about this too a while ago - that I'll be getting back to soon - and I began writing right away but then I just couldn't. I had to put it on hold because I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of evidence that Dick was a happy robin. Not A happy robin, THE happy robin. I was exhausted because I didn't know where to begin, there was just too much evidence. I needed to create a separate post first.
It makes me so mad when i see Angry Dick Grayson posts because it's not even an interpretation of events. There's nothing to debate, there's no doubt, there's no question, there's no confusion, there's nothing to contest - HE WASN'T AN ANGRY ROBIN.
Jason says it himself! And unlike people in the fandom who've never read a comic in their life but like running their mouth off, he would actually know because he studied Dick. He watched all of Dick's videos when he was Robin. 11 years worth of videos. And this is what he says about Dick's robin:
Tumblr media
Suicide Squad: Get Joker Issue #1
Jason straight up says that Dick was the happy robin. And that's just Jason. There's still Tim, Damian, Bruce, Alfred, Clark, the Justice League, and the Titans who talk about it.
Frankly it boggles my mind when I hear people who write takes say that Dick was an angry robin because even if they've never read any of the robin comics, they should at least know what he was like from what the adult characters say right? Did they really never stop and wonder why Jason keeps talking about not being Dick when he argues with Bruce? Or why Tim was so obsessed with Dick aside from knowing him from the circus? Or why Bruce writes entire monologues about how Dick saved him? Or why Alfred goes on massive rants about how Dick was the best thing ever to happen to Bruce and him or why he started crying and mourning when Dick merely left as Robin? Did no one stop to consider when they started going around saying he wasn't happy?
Honestly Angry Robin Dick Grayson characterization is a black hole of logic and intelligence.
The reason it became so popular is because it's a logical fallacy and logical fallacies sound convincing. This particular argument is the hasty generalization logical fallacy. Hasty generalization is when a statement is made after one or two examples rather than relying on extensive research to back up a claim.
For example: I got sick after eating pizza from Aleano's. Therefore, I must be allergic to pizza.
Proponents of angry robin dick characterization choose one example from decades of writing to claim that he was angry after his parents died which-seriously? Besides you'll start to notice that people who write those takes will never provide evidence because it's near possible to find something that doesn't exist. Sure one or two out of context photos might be provided but that's the best they can do to support that type of characterization. As much as we wish we were magicians from Hogwarts, no amount of wishing is going to transfigure the hundreds of comics filled with happy robin to him being an angry monster.
Also it's ridiculous that type of character because they're saying that if he's upset that his parents died, then he's an angry character. But if the Joker's happy that random people died, then he's a psycho. What do they want?! And that's not even the whole truth of it either. Dick was massively sad more than he was angry. He was taken away from his circus family and is left alone like all the time now. His life changed in a second - he's depressed. But he was able to work through it and that's how Robin was created.
Dick was not Robin when he went after Tony Zucco. The reason Bruce made him Robin was specifically because he admitted he didn't want Tony Zucco dead.
The problem is people sometimes hyperfocus so much on one detail that they forget the big picture. They centered 11 years of Robin characterization around one moment.
Let's get the facts straight. Robin is a success story. The greatness of Dick wasn't just that he was the smart, the best of the ages, and the greatest athelete - no. His greatness is that he is able to move. ON. He can do what Bruce never could. He could move on and take his parents death and turn it into something positive. He was able to overcome grief and not dwell in the past.
That's why he was able to be happy. That's why Bruce couldn't. And that's why Bruce needed Dick because Dick made him happy.
Alfred says this about Dick as Robin -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robin: Year One Issue #1
"The addition of Dick Grayson into the Master's crusade has made a difference in him." "I do believe I saw him smile. There have been occasions in the pantry when I could just discern the muffled sounds of laughter echoeing up from that dreadful cavern beneath the manor."
People don't seem to understand. Alfred never approved Bruce's tenure as Batman. He loathed it so much he punched Bruce for it. It was Dick's light and goodness that changed Bruce's mind because he saw how happy Dick made him and how happy of a child he himself was.
And Dick? He never changed his personality in or out of costume.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robin: Year One Issue #2
"He doesn't seem to struggle to lead a normal adolescence." "He's had no need to develop the masquerade that Master Bruce felt necessary." "His personality remains the same with or without the mask and boots. "
He's not the troubled kid some people seem to think he is. He wasn't mean or selfish or cast aside or raging moodily in a corner. Actually in the Batman (1940) and Detective Comics, he was seen as a role model for how helpful and kind he was. He was actually the one who went out of his way to help troubled kids because of his kindness, goodness, and empathy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Checkmate (2006) Issue #14
Checkmate is a member of Task Force X under Amanda Waller and an ally of Batman's. She knows him. She knows what Dick was to him and Dick even mourns about the time when Bruce used to be happy. It was his joy and personality that did that.
Of course my argument isn't to be taken one sidedly saying he was constantly happy 24/7, all the time, in every occasion - no. Emotions are a spectrum and no one feels one emotion all the time. Thats silly. But, your personality outlook is based on what you feel most of the time. Dick sometimes got angry, sometimes got sad, etc. But in a dichotomy between happy and angry there is no doubt, no question, that he was overwhelmingly on the happy side.
There's a reason why everyone calls him happy. It's because for an overwhelming majority of the time, he was the happy robin.
Tumblr media
52 Issue #25
Way back in the Batman (1940) comic Dick says, "I became Robin, history's first sidekick. And there I was, the laughing boy daredevil--"
Tumblr media
Batman and Robin (2009) Issue #9
You can call him crazy, excitable, feral, overexcellent, etc. But never forget that Bruce once went insane after locking himself in a simulator that emulated Robin Dick Grayson's joy.
The incontestable truth - Dick was a happy robin.

Big Bro Gojo! Reader find out about Megumi and Tsumiki. Ft Kugisaki and Itadori!
This part is pretty long!
First part for context
first of all, thanks to @shootinglove14 for giving me the idea for this adorable drabble, thanks sweetie!
Now, moving on to the topic, I think Big Bro Reader would know about Megumi's existence shortly after he has his talk with Satoru (after the breakup of KFC) and confesses that, that Touji told him that he had a son, as if He would wait for his brother to tell him what he should do. Big Bro at first, I'm not going to lie, is too angry at Touji for almost killing his little brother to think clearly, so he tells him to do what he thinks is right.
which in Satoru's mind translated to: "do what your brother would have done" and knowing that under normal circumstances Big Bro Reader would not hesitate to take in a child in need (ESPECIALLY if Big Bro already has children of his own) Satoru He decides that he will do the same.
so, he goes to get Megumi (and additionally Tsumiki), takes them with him and introduces them to his older brother as the children he had been telling them about :D (completely ignoring the fact that he warned him with, like, 5 minutes of before they arrived and that it was supposed to be just ONE SON)
but as soon as Big Bro Reader sees them, any kind of dislike towards Touji or resentment IS CRUSHED and replaced with pity when he sees how small they are, he very much regrets having thought the way he did when he saw how they lived, and begins to treat them like his normal friendly self, almost like his own children.
As Megumi and Tsumiki grow up, Big Bro reader is a very important figure in their lives, mainly because he has the tact that Satoru doesn't have, he is cuddly without being annoying, he is much more respectful, how could they not love him? especially in the case of Megumi, who tries to help him with his abandonment issues.
With Tsumiki he becomes close through things like housework, Reader is a deconstructed man, he helps his wife and Tsumiki in everything he can😤 and even teaches her some tricks that he has learned in the Gojo house (cooking, laundry, embroidery, self-defense, the man is a box of surprises).
overall Tsumiki sees her friendly personality supported by someone like Big Bro reader who is almost the same. She sees him as a great man and definitely a good example of a man, father and husband.
Megumi, as I already said, likes Big Bro Reader more in the sense that he has much more tact and respect for what others say, that already gives him many points, but he also gets attached very quickly to him because of how good he is. general that he is, but he doesn't take shit from anyone. Big Bro reader will be gentle, yes, but he can't stand disrespect and is definitely someone who can hold a grudge, can empathize with it.
but Big Bro's fatherly and uninterested attitude was definitely what made him love him so much, they can bond through things like board games, Big Bro teaches him how to be a gentleman, go out to parks together with the Divine dogs, teach them Gojo clan techniques, etc.
By the time they grow up, they see Big Bro Reader as a kind of secondary father, but if Big Bro already has children, they will be their guardians and help Reader take care of them. when Tsumiki happens, Reader is the FIRST to run to the hospital and comfort Megumi, he is the one who occasionally prepares her a homemade lunch for school, he is the one who Megumi goes to visit when she has the opportunity (aside from Tsumiki) to tell him of his day.
Big Bro reader is one of the few people (if not the only one) who feels like he will never abandon him, and gives him a genuine and warm feeling of security that he wishes he had before. He loves it very much.
Megumi becomes an unofficial part of Big Bro's family, his wife even has a guest room tailored to his tastes (and for his divine dogs), she has some of his favorite snacks in the pantry, and MY GOD, when he comes over of surprise and Reader's children are going to greet him with "welcome home Megumi-nisaaaaaan!" Megumi could DIE THERE AND DIE HAPPY.
They even leave him a space at the table (Big Bro's wife always gives him extra portions because according to her "he is very thin") and he can feel calm. simple peace of mind.
Gojo's brother is amazing.
and eventually thanks to this and being the fucking sensei's brother, he would also meet Nobara and Itadori.
Itadori would meet Big Bro reader before Nobara, he would probably even be either 1- one of the people Itadori would go on his first missions with or 2- one of the few people Gojo trusted to let him know that Yuji wasn't dead.
Let's go for both.
Itadori was VERY surprised to see the difference in attitude between his Sensei and his brother, but he still saw that Big Bro Reader was someone very respectable, even adorable! always bragging about his family and Gojo-sensei also started showing him his own photos of his nephews/nieces (Big Bro's children) and even some photos from when they were young, it was very wholesome.
I can see Big Bro joining Itadori in his movie marathons (especially after the incident with Junpei), inviting him to his house to meet his family, even staying for dinner. For Yuji everything is so...NEW, a whole family, functional and happy, how does he do it? but ends up thanking him very much for the experience (even giving him a hug that Reader gladly returns).
Itadori goes with Big bro reader if he needs more sentimental or emotional advice, since Big bro is something like his guide in that sense, his reference point for what he would like to have, and although Itadori is a walking green flag , sometimes doesn't understand certain situations, and wants to become as friendly and supportive as big bro reader.
Imagine Itadori and Megumi babysitting Big Bro reader's children! I imagine that they are half angels and half Gojo(xd) so they would have to be very careful with that. Megumi would absolutely LOVE to see children drawing pictures or talking about their family, if they draw him a picture of him, he will cry (even if it is the ugliest thing ever drawn, he will hang it on the refrigerator, NO BUTS)
Itadori stays more with Big Bro reader's wife (if she is there) and helps her with things like shopping bags and wanting to know more about the children to be a better babysitter with Megumi (although he knows them better so not much problem).
And when Big bro reader comes Back and the kids go running to give their dad the "welcome home!" Call, Itadori swears his heart MELTS.
Sensei's brother is very kind. Is what he thinks whathever the topic of Big bro is bring up.
Nobara would probably meet Big Bro after Itadori's "death", and at first she didn't think much of him (except that he dressed VERY well) until she learned that he was Gojo-Sensei's older brother. and honestly? She didn't believe it.
It couldn't be!! IT HAD TO BE A JOKE! How did someone like his sensei have someone so friendly as a brother? Or was Reader hiding his own idiotic side? It took photos from when they were young and a lot of insistence for her to finally believe that they were even related.
Definitely at first she was a little alert because of the friendly way Big Bro Reader acted, but eventually she was able to let her guard down when she realized that he wasn't planning anything shady, on the contrary, he wanted to be with them in a difficult moment like what he was doing. It was losing a partner. Nobara could respect him for that.
and he believed that he must be the proudest man in the world, because he always showed off his family, especially his children. At first Nobara found him somewhat annoying, but it didn't take long before she got on the train of enthusiasm for the achievements of Big Bro's children.
If Big Bro has a bad fashion sense, Nobara is ON A MISSION to change that, no ifs and buts. They won't go away until you at least know basic color theory.
Overall Nobara is happy to be a girl around Big Bro reader and have good mental support at this school. Sensei's brother is great.

Only Friends: Why Ray's reaction speaks volumes about his feelings for Sand, rather than his feelings for Mew
It's natural to think Ray reacted so strongly in the fight with Boston because of his residual feelings and loyalty to Mew. But let's be clear, this revelation doesn't adversely affect Mew in any immediate way if you read this as Ray being upset on Mew's behalf.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boston's bombshell is instead targeted to hurt Ray specifically. An attempt to make Ray look like a villain and Sand to feel like a victim of Ray's 'deception'. Sand being the unwarranted collateral of this fight.
Why is Ray angry?
So let's break down all the reasons Ray is angry in the first place.
This wasn't Boston's story to tell. He saw and recorded the kiss without their knowledge or consent. He frames it like a 'dirty secret' that Ray intentionally hid from Sand. But it's Ray's right to choose when and if he felt it necessary to share this with Sand, depending on the progression of their relationship.
What Boston is claiming is only partly true. Yes they did kiss. But no, Ray did not 'take Mew's virginity'. Nothing further happened and Boston is embellishing, which implies more gravitas to a 'history' which doesn't exist.
Sand is being fed this information without full context. He doesn't have the benefit of understanding Ray's past (namely his breakdown), the nature of his friendship with Mew. Without it, Ray is going to look categorically bad, especially through the lens of his affectionate behaviour with Sand that day.
The revelation could ruin what potential future there may have been between Ray and Sand, if Sand is driven away. Ray's newfound happiness dashed in an instant.
Tumblr media
The initial part of his Ray's reaction is defensive - the shock, the betrayal regarding such an invasion of privacy. Ray's first punch is thrown after "keep track?" The audacity and complete lack of justification felt as to why Boston would even do such a thing. Ray's second attempt to enact violence is when Boston says, "are you going to be two-timing?" I saw the following through his response: 'It's one thing to hurt me. I'm your friend. I know what you're like. But why on earth are you dragging Sand into this? How dare you.'
Attacking Ray's Weak Spot
Tumblr media
We can't change our pasts. Whether it was one kiss or years of unrequited feelings - ultimately, nothing became of it. Ray can't erase the fact he did once love Mew (and probably always will in some capacity because of what Mew did for him). But if Ray were to eventually fall in love with Sand, then his romantic feelings for Mew would become past tense. So whatever he felt then would have no bearing on his here and now. Ray shouldn't be made to feel ashamed.
The progress Ray made with Sand this episode has essentially been unravelled through this one act. It's been hugely difficult for Ray to even consider loving anyone other than Mew. He only just started to display inklings of welcoming the idea. We should all be afforded the opportunity to move on. For Boston to use Mew (someone who means so much to Ray symbolically) as ammunition to hurt Sand (someone new he's grown to care about), is pitting his past and future against each other. And it's not fair to do so. Your past doesn't negate what you may do in future. Similarly the future doesn't discredit the past. Both are important for different reasons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ray has every right to value both Mew and Sand, because his feelings for each of them will be entirely different in their own right. But what Boston has tried to spin here is a comparison game. 'Ray loves Mew. He's always loved Mew.' The further insinuation being: 'Ray will never find you as important Sand. You're lesser than. You'll never compare in Ray's eyes'. It's simply not Boston's place to say that. How would he know? It's possible that one day Sand could match Ray's love for Mew, surpass it even. But Ray isn't to know that yet.
There's also a palpable air of derision in how Boston delivers this. He makes Ray's feelings out to be a slightly pathetic, sad little obsession, by wording it as "Ray's whole ass is owned by Mew". Reducing Ray's incredibly complex feelings for someone who saved his life to a more superficial pining. The nuances of which Sand won't be aware of.
Hurting Ray by hurting Sand
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only is Boston trying to tarnish Ray's character by accusing him of misleading and lying to Sand - but in doing so he's humiliating Sand for not being aware of this. If he can tell that Sand has feelings for Ray, he knew this information would hurt an innocent third party. All 'disguised' under a feat of righteousness.
I'm sure Ray is more than aware of how Sand treats him. Sand has been nothing but kind and accommodating where he's concerned. Willing to bend to his will and soften to his demands. Sand absolutely does not deserve to be dragged into any unnecessary drama, (drama which involves a notable part of Ray's history). So Ray is forced to feel somewhat responsible, based purely on the fact that this very 'drama' concerns him.
It's because Ray cares about Sand's feelings, cares about Sand's opinion of him, cares about what Sand feels towards him, and is also concerned by Sand being caught in this crossfire - that Ray is so clearly flustered. No matter what he's done, Sand shouldn't have to suffer along by association. That's not fair on Sand. It's his past in question. It's his best friend doing the damage. And it's because of him that Sand is now getting hurt too.
He can't outright deny it, because part of what Boston is saying is true. (Trying to vehemently defend yourself can sometimes come across even more as an admission of guilt). He can't apologise to Sand, because he hasn't figured out who Sand is to him yet. (If Ray doesn't deem him as a boyfriend at present, then he can't be sorry for liking someone else). The kiss with Mew also relates closely to an absolute rock bottom period of his life, which he probably wasn't ready to share with Sand just yet.
Tumblr media
Ray has been made out to be a liar and a cheat and he's just praying that Sand can give him the benefit of the doubt. There's absolutely no way he can possibly explain all the intricacies to Sand in such an instant, but he's allowing Sand to ask him should he wish to. It's the least he can do. But Sand is going through his own internal battle now, and both need time to process what this has led them to realise about how they feel about each other.

FUSHIGOVER pt. II [I HAD ONE JOB]
1 / 2 / 3 / 4
Tumblr media
First of all, I didn't want to go to any party that night. Hear me out. From what I understood, my bare existence was apparently a threat to the cursed energy regulations in the school, so getting overly excited wasn't the best idea. Second of all, I somehow managed to avoid Fushiguro all day, so he wouldn't make my heart palpitations even worse. Normally, I'd also crack a joke about the whole "leaking" think in the context of Megumi, but even for me, it seemed completely inappropriate.
But that was a party Yuuji's decided to throw especially for him. Was I about to miss it?
Hell fucking nah.
I've said that me and alcohol didn't get along really well, but there was something about Nobara's drink-making technique that was making me forget about that awful relationship. Sometimes it made me forget even the parties, but such situations were quite rare. So when Kugisaki passed me a glass full of something, the only thought on my mind was...
"Cheers." Maki suddenly appeared next to me and sat comfortably on the couch. "Is that..." She pointed her glass in my direction. "Is that Nobara's poison?"
"Yeah. I was just supposed to be thinking about not getting hammered, but I don't think I can take it sober."
Maki laughed and looked around the room.
"Why is that dumbass not here yet?" She took a sip of her drink and sighed. "Yuuji's done literally everything to gather us here today."
Well, he did a great job, looking at the amount of people gathered in the room. Panda, Inumaki, Yuuta, all the first-years and even Hakkari were there. I guessed it couldn't be that hard though. Everyone waited. We were friends, and the friendship was even more hardcore than anybody could imagine.
I've had these thoughts from time to time. Looking at my friends, their scarred bodies, faces, hearts and souls - thoughts that made me angry. We should be dying from drinking too much during a party in Yuuji’s room every week instead of actually dying.
"Yo, Fushiguro!"
My heart stopped.
The room suddenly became way more lively, with students cheering, moving around and clicking their glasses. Somebody even got his hands on the light switch and started turning the lights on and off.
And in this whole mess, I couldn't breathe.
He stood there, leaning against the doorframe, a little bit taller than the last time I'd seen him, but also a little thinner. He wore black jeans and same colour long-sleeve that fit those broad shoulders of his so freaking well. His dark hair was messy, and it became even messier when he nervously ran his hand through it, definitely not expecting the excited reactions. For some reason, the nervousness in him was always mixed with a little bit of irritation, but I've known him long enough to see that in reality, he was glad. For some reason, he's never had too many emotions written all over his face. If you wanted to look for those - you had to do it right.
His eyes.
What a phenomenal thing, to be sitting. My knees went weak without even noticing. I stared and stared for what seemed like an enternity, and then I did the only one thing I could do.
"FUSHIGURO!" I pushed all my awfully lovesick thoughts as far as I could and jumped out of the couch, giving surprised Maki a small heart-attack. "YOU'RE BACK!"
Don't get me wrong now. I've never been the introverted type. I was just apparently really good at overthinking my feelings and these three weeks without him were the worst possible thing that could happen to me. Because I had been thinking. And really, was there that much to think about? I've had feelings, that's right. Romantic feelings. But my feelings were my problem and I had no intention of making them his problem. Not now, at least. It was under my control.
Fushiguro apparently heard me and he looked around, finally landing his gaze on me, which made me panic a bit, but being the fraud and impostor that I've always been in my little life story, I just smiled. I don't really think I'd smiled that sincerely ever before.
I had one job.
Just don't cry, you idiot.
Yuuji and Nobara had already hugged him and said their greetings. It was my turn.
And then, the world stopped once again.
It felt as if I made a wrong step. You know, the moment when you go up the stairs and you're ready to get even higher, but there's nothing - and you put your foot down and feel like you sink. The moment I got closer, the moment I could see him clearly, his soft scent lingering in the air, it felt as if someone took my heart out and ripped apart once again.
His cursed energy. Darker then ever, but his, so his, that it made me go insane. My hands started to shake. But here I was. A brave person.
"We've missed you." My voice was a bit quieter now.
And I hugged him.
He really became taller. And still, he was a little bit stiff, but the moment he wrapped his arms around me, I became exactly the same.
"Hi, (Y/N)."
I had one job.
I felt his breathing, slow and surprisingly relaxed, his warmth, this weird mix of his showering gel and... well, him, just him, and that alone made me kinda forget where I was. I turned my head around, to get a little bit closer to him, his chest, and then I heard it. The heart.
Beating.
It was like a wave. Honestly, a tsunami - as if it hit me and was ready, ready to rip him from my embrace, to take him away from me yet again, somewhere where I wouldn't be able to see him anymore. To hold him. To feel him. I squeezed my fingers on his black shirt even harder. It was definitely cotton. He wouldn't wear anything other than that.
I love you.
At that moment, I really hoped you could say it out loud. But I couldn't.
I had one job.
---
im getting emotional about this

Jason Todd being girl-coded, you've opened my eyes! You are so right and suddenly a lot of things about him make sense (including why I like him so much), especially with how the narrative treats him (right down to turning a morally complex character into a straight-up card-carrying villain who eats puppies, ironically right around the time they did that to another female character, Talia). Jason is even written how I (a girl) tend to write angry victim power fantasy female characters. Like yes babygirl, scream and rage against the heavens about how unfair it all is!
I remember a post calling Jason "the Punisher for girls" except... yeah he kinda is. The Punisher is a male power fantasy with all that implies, while Jason is such a girl power fantasy and written with a lot of the usual negative narrative bias female characters usually get.
Except if we're honest and look past the superficial similarities of lethal force and guns, the narrative role of Batman is far more like the Punisher than Jason. Jason's role is the Punisher's daughter. Jason is if Lisa came back and was angry after what happened and big parent man Frank had to try to keep his (hysterical emotional angry-like-a-girl) daughter from crossing his arbitrary lines because she was going "too far" and tragically, he's unable to "save" her from herself and he must Move On while his child gets locked up or lies dying behind him (I can seriously imagine exactly how a proper Lisa-is-back plot would go down it's crazy how similar it'd be to Jason's return).
And another way Jason is girl-coded is that he's mentored by Talia, a woman. In comics you don't see male characters mentored by female ones often. Sometimes they can be taught specific skills by them for a brief time (like Tim and Shiva) but Talia's role as Jason's primary mentor and caretaker for several years is pretty unusual in comics.
True!! I'm glad my posts resonated with you so much. :)
I don't really know anything about the Punisher so I can't add my opinion to the mix, but other people will probably recognize your point.
But! On the subject of female characters mentoring male characters @benbamboozled made a great post actually about how women are seen as Having A Specific Skill or Expertise to teach whereas men are mentors For All, or For Life. And yeah Jason does break the rule absolutely! But we also don't get to see to much of that on page. He is in Talia's care for years, but other than Lost Days and utrh we just don't get to see these two interact. I either made a post or drafted and forgot about it, how DC won't publish Talia and Jason working together because it is vital to DC's agenda of keeping them marginalized that they each be alone nomatter how much reason and history they have to be in more frequent and meaningful contact.
At the same time, we really only see Talia caring for Jason in a motherly context, she isn't cast quite in the role of a mentor, rather sending him around to teachers than teaching him herself. It's a step in the right direction, but the fact of any mentoring and most interactions occuring off-screen, as well as their relationship being ignored later, or ret-conned like in the utrh movie where Talia was kind of replaced with Ra's.
For me a lot of Jason's girl-coded aspect arises from his opposition to Bruce who embodies patriarchal ideals. To some extent Jason is in the role of every person who has been let down by the patriarchy. The system we were told is for our benefit as well and which has let us down. It's about how we were let down by this world we thought was fair when we were smaller and trusted to be protected. It's about how our own father's have let us down, even if the time we last thought of them as protectors might have been many, many years ago.
None of these experiences are exclusionary to women either. I am not a woman, but I am queer. And I have been let down both by the idea that my father could ever be my protector instead of the one I needed protection from. And I have been let down by the idea I used to have of a world that would give me a voice without me having to prove myself every step of the way.
The need I have for more interaction between Talia and Jason is so much about two people villainized and victimized by the same patriarch-favoring narrative bonding and rising to challenge and upset the status quo. While I am aware that it will never happen and that DC already left Winnick a lot of leeway to have made Talia play such a type of role at all, logically it should be what follows.
Jason is girl-coded, but he also drinks his respect-women juices.

I feel like this moment from episode 6 where Imogen talks about Relvin might be a useful one to think sbout right now, especially with all the commentary on their relationship and what they think it means and what happened between him and Imogen:
[Laudna asks Imogen about giving Relvin's name to the Corsairs as collateral. Imogen assures her that it is fine.] Laudna: Do you think he's doing well? I know we left in kind of a hurry. Imogen: Yeah. I think he's, you know, it was probably a long time coming. He was probably happy that I'm gone, and he might be doing a bit better now that I'm not there. FCG: What the fuck's up with that? Ashton: I feel like there's some context necessary for this. FCG: What happened? You have a falling out with your pa? Imogen: No, no, no, my dad's great! He tried, you know, when things started happening, and it wasn't like that growing up, you know, I didn't have all of this. I don't know why it started. It was hard for him, you know? Because I didn't want to be around very many people, and... he just kind of— distanced himself because he knew it made me more comfortable, and... you know, the people in town started talking, and I think he tried to distance himself socially as well for a while to try to, you know. Not his fault, totally. FCG: From you or from the people in town? Imogen: A little bit of both, you know.
Personally, I find it noteworthy just how different "he was probably happy that I'm gone, and he might be doing a bit better now that I'm not there" sounds after her explanation that he distanced himself from others in the town too, that it was motivated by a desire to make her comfortable (and that she knew this was the reason), and that she suggests his attempt to make considerations for her comfort around people was just as isolating for him as it was for her (and it seems there is a suggestion she believes distancing himself from her was difficult in both directions).
Imogen said he dislikes having his thoughts read.* This is interesting alongside another comment about Relvin having never spoken about Liliana from episode 12, one also useful to keep in mind right now:
Imogen: Talk about her? Never. Any time I tried to bring her up, it was like he just turned off. Part of me thinks that's one of the reasons he stopped coming around me. Once everything started changing, it's almost like he knew that he'd give something away. I just thought he was uncomfortable. I didn't know— I don't know.
In addition to the first remark, Imogen speculates that Relvin refused to talk about Liliana to stop himself from giving anything away and wonders if part of the distance was to better keep information about Liliana secret. This seems to mesh well with how he dislikes having his mind read. (Generally, outside of keeping secrets, not wanting your thoughts read is always a valid desire as it is a right to privacy.)
Generally, I think these moments are really useful for and important to understanding their relationship as it is and help contextualize and frame the interestingly very little they both say.
———————
*She says this is why she believes he wouldn't want to see her, but that didn't strictly turn out true, at least from what it seems in the latest. He wasn't thrilled to see her, sure, but he wasn't upset or unhappy either, which feels different from what she seemed to expect. He notably expressed apparently sincere concern that people angry with her would notice she's here and find her. This worry is explicitly the motivation for advising her to leave town quickly, so it therefore seems to be the primary motivator for his asking who saw her enter town—that he's worried people who still harbor ill will against her may come for her if she is seen and lingers too long. At least, that's what it seems to me when taken all together.

How do you feel about the implications from Medusa that Poseidon uh- kinda raped Sally? I'm personally staring in disbelief.
i 100% did not get that vibe at all? i rewatched the scene and i'm looking at the transcript and:
Athena was everything to me. I worshipped her, I prayed to her, I made offerings...she never answered. Not even an omen to suggest she appreciated my love. I wasn't like you, sweetheart. I was you. I would have worshipped her that way for a lifetime....in silence. But then one day, another god came, and he broke that silence. Your father. The Sea God told me that he loved me; I felt as though he saw me in a way I had never felt seen before. But then Athena declared that I had embarrassed her and I needed to be punished. Not him. Me. ... The gods want you to believe that, that they are infallible. But they only want what all bullies want. They want us to blame ourselves for their own shortcomings.
that's medusa's story monologue and the only thing there that implies the rape story is the "...i needed to be punished. not him. me" but nothing else she says implies that...and considering they went with a different iteration of the myth her, i don't think that's what she was implying in any way (and especially because it's disney). she was more so saying that athena should have punished poseidon if she was mad at anyone, because he esentially took the attention that medusa was willingly giving to athena, and that's why athena was mad. in this case, athena's shortcoming was not accepting the love medusa gave her willingly, and then getting angry and punishing medusa when she placed it somewhere else.
You're mother and I, we're like sisters in a way. Targeted by the same monster. So I find myself feeling protective of you. A monster? My mom never talked about my dad that way.
Even here, any implication of that you could gather is in the "targeted by the same monster" which. i don't think is what we're supposed to gather, especially with the line percy says. because he's right. if that's what happened, then sally wouldn't have talked about poseidon the way she did; she wouldn't have been crying in the car at montauk; she wouldn't be wearing the matching pearl necklace. i think, in this iteration, what medusa meant by monster is a god. her whole thing here is trying to convince the trio that the gods are the real monsters because they don't care about what happens to anyone other than themselves
and then there's this line
And you, you could have shown your father what it means to stand up for someone you love.
she's saying that poseidon should've stood up for her because he said he loved her...but he didn't, and let her take the punishment---which, yeah, it's completely shitty that poseidon would've just let that happen to medusa, but it doesn't lend itself to thinking that he raped sally in the context of the show. like at all.
the whole medusa interaction is her trying to teach the gods a lesson---that they shouldn't be above everyone just because they're gods, that the trio just sees monsters where they should maybe see people with a story, people that their parents made that way, people they shouldn't hate just because they're told to, because if they do then they're no better than their parents. i think the show is really playing into the whole "the gods are shitty" thing that luke has going on (which i kind of really enjoy im ngl....im SO interested to see it if we get to tlo) and not making them out to be these perfect beings, because they're not. they're corrupt and shitty, but unfortunately they're better than the alternative. and medusa is simply pointing out that just because someone is a monster doesn't mean they're a monster, and just because someone is a god doesn't mean they're good (@ sally in ep 1).

Random ass Porsche&Pete thoughts at 4pm while at work because KP has destroyed any resemblance I might have had to being an adult.
Ok. So. May I suggest that the best scene in the entire show kind of came out of nowhere? I'm of course talking about the Porsche&Pete bathroom scene in ep13, yes it's the best scene, no I do not accept criticism.
What do I mean by that? Well, we as an audience member, who know what Pete went through, who know why he returns to the compound in ruins, understand why Porsche is questioning Pete and why he's heated.
But can I suggest that we see this from a different perspective for a hot second?
Why is Porsche so insistent in knowing what happened to Pete? Why is he so angry? Why does he want to punish the people who made him suffer?
Obviously he would, right? Pete is his friend and he came back home in shambles. The people responsible need to pay.
But why is Porsche paying attention to Pete now? Why does he care now?
Think about it. Has Porsche ever done that in the show? Has he paid ANY attention to Pete prior to episode 13, when he realized Pete might be in danger? Because I can't think of anything at all.
I've rambled about their relationship before - it was actually my first post on Tumblr lol, crazy - and it continues to haunt me. How complex it is and not just "a friendship".
I wholeheartedly believe that what drives Porsche to push Pete so hard during their talk in the bathroom is guilt. He would never admit it, he doesn't even realize it, but that's what it is.
Because he forgot about Pete too. He may have gotten mad at Kinn for sending him to the minor family compound- you can see his fiery expression for a little more than a second when Tankhun talks to them both in ep13 - but he shares the blame too. Not as much as Kinn, but as his supposed friend, he does. And he knows it.
We never saw if Kinn told Porsche about Pete's mission so we can't know if Porsche knows about its significance (in the novels he knows and gets extra mad at Kinn for it, but the novels have different context altogether so we'll ignore it). I'd like to think he did, because Porsche as a character demands explanations constantly throughout the series.
Take all of the above I've mentioned and try to remember the scene again (if you've managed to forget it because I sure af haven't). To me, that's Porsche trying to correct a mistake, not him being a good friend.
Because Porsche was a lot of things but a good friend wasn't one of them.
Pete may have not thought of that, because he had other things to worry about at that moment before he'd even think of questioning Porsche's motives, but I want to believe that he eventually did wonder about them. Especially when Porsche suggested they go to Hum Bar.
It may have been a fleeting thought. It may have been just a couple of seconds of his bodyguard instincts kicking in before they were drowned in his despair. But I want to believe it happened.
What I'm wondering is what interpretation he gave to Porsche's behavior. I'm sure it was the most logical and not at all him dismissing his own self worth :)
[Shameless self promo of my Heroes and Villains series that touch upon this very concept through an alternate canon that manages to emphasize the sacrifice Pete made and Porsche's guilt about his mistake, because I'm working on the 3rd installment which I hope will get posted before 2024 comes.]

The Clone Wars 2x4 'Senate Spy' Reaction
Tumblr media
Putting this one under a cut as it deals with some heavy topics.
CW: Domestic violence, abusive relationships, emotional abuse
Wow ok this episode really emphasised how controlling Anakin is of Padmé. There were a few instances of it in Season 1, particularly at the start of the finale, but it was a constant presence throughout this episode. In every interaction between Anakin and Padmé it was glaringly obvious how controlling and possessive Anakin is of Padmé.
I know possessive characters are a fandom trope favourite, particularly in smut, and I can understand it in that exact, precise, fantasy, pretend, entirely made up context but I've also always been squicked out by and wary of it outside of that one highly specific context. To me, it's a giant red flag and a trait that basically screams 'Danger! This person is a threat!' Which is entirely applicable in this context, because we all know how that relationship ended. With Anakin attempting to murder Padmé and their unborn children by strangling her.
Seeing multiple clear and obvious signs of an abusive husband in this relationship is rather jarring to watch. Usually I will easily keyboard mash out reaction thoughts to an episode but I'm really struggling with this one. It's important to talk about but it's also quite difficult and tough. There are so many red flags in Anakin's behaviour in this episode alone and it's barely the start of Season 2. He's controlling, possessive, selfish, egotistical, angry, and frankly downright frightening. The part that really got me was where he decided for Padmé that she wasn't allowed to go on the mission because he had deemed it too dangerous, completely removing her agency and denying her free will.
I'm glad Padmé reacted the way she did. That she called out Anakin on his bullshit and made it completely clear that no one makes decisions for her. That definitive rejection of Anakin's controlling and abusive behaviour needed to happen. What frustrated me was the way in which it was done and the way in which Padmé is characterised and written in her relationship with Anakin.
Because they wrote Padmé as the Strong Female Character. Who never backs down, always gives back as good as she gets, ready with a snappy comeback and full of fight, just as strong and tough as The Boys. Which, sadly, makes sense given that this episode was released in 2009. The Strong Female Character was still the best we could really hope for in terms of mainstream media representation. Mass Effect had only come out two years earlier and the option to play the main character as a woman was considered groundbreaking at the time. It was only a few years before this episode that Padmé was fighting in the middle of a gladiator arena turned battle field in Attack of the Clones in nothing but a blindingly white skin tight outfit that somehow magically never got dirty with no amour to protect herself with apart from some clunky looking shin guards. How was she supposed to protect herself from getting injured from attacks and blaster bolts?! Armour sure would've helped when that nexu conveniently ripped her top off in just the right spot so that it became a crop top because god forbid we have a woman existing in an action movie without showing some skin. Urgh. (little teenage nerd me had many about opinions about this). The usually singular female character in any action movies of the time were always the same Strong Female Character trope as well, usually with a whole bunch of unnecessary sexiness thrown in purely for the male gaze (see aforementioned crop top).
I'm sure it gets better, well I hope it gets better, but it's another reminder that while enjoyable so far, The Clone Wars, especially the earlier episodes and seasons, are products of their time and have already started to show their age. That doesn't excuse it. I guess it's just me noticing that it's interesting in an odd sort of way that I can't really describe to watch it all for the first time 14 years later in an entirely different media landscape.
The other thing that really stood out to me about Anakin's abusive behaviour was that every time Padmé pushed back, stood her ground and called out Anakin's bullshit, he never acknowledged Padmé's point of view, that he might possibly be wrong or even considered apologising. He just kept barrelling along, doing what he wanted to do because he was always right and Padmé was wrong and Padmé should be listening to him and doing what he says because Padmé is his. For the entirety of their relationship, Anakin is either fighting, controlling or love bombing Padmé. A healthy relationship is not based on any of these.
I'm not really sure where I'm going with this and I've no idea how to finish this but watching this episode was like watching every abusive relationship I've had to deal with. All the red flags were there. All the emotional abuse was there. All the abusive behaviours were there. I'm not sure if Padmé and Anakin's relationship in this episode and throughout The Clone Wars was written this way intentionally, and I'm not sure I'd give the writers enough credit to do so, but it was all so very alarmingly, scarily, jarringly accurate.

Your post did make me reevaluate some things.
Like you do have a point that george should have been more empathetic to the pain he caused in his first response.
I just hope this will spark more on a discussion on how men treat women, especially in CCs spaces.
But can't help but also feel bad for them after the past year where they suffer from a false allegation, especially dream, which people are still targeting even tho he's not the main focus (but still in part responsible)
You got a point, it's only just unfortunate that just before this they suffered for things that actually wasn't their fault and it's still affecting them to this day.
And I know they shouldn't be the main focus other than caiti
i think a lot of men are very ignorant even if they themselves think they aren't. some of those men who are replying to george's tweets right now and condemning him have probably done bad things as well without realising it, which is kinda fucked up, but i hope george serves as an example for them and all of them, especially george, will be more caring towards women around them, whether they've been friends for a long time or just met them. as a content creator george has many responsibilities, and he clearly haven't been "cautious", as he said, enough. i think when your best friend has been dealing with grooming allegations for like eight months (at that time) it is logical to be INCREDIBLY careful around women noticeably younger than you. and i'm obviously not blaming caiti, she is the victim in this situation and george is paying the price for that right now, what i'm trying to say is it's fucking stupid to flirt with someone without learning their age in this context, i would be so fucking paranoid to do that while witnessing dream's situation up close, no matter how drunk i am. so what he did was stupidly irresponsible, and i cannot begin to express how much i feel for caiti, i hope he releases a proper apology (and if possible contacts her privately because she deserves to hear this directly i feel like) and she heals from this.
now, the hate! i think both dream and george have been blinded by the hate they have been receiving, and this part of george's statement made me particularly angry. they've been so caught up in the hate they get from that cc group, it made them completely overlook caiti's feelings. and i would understand that to some degree but george took more than twenty four hours to release his statement. i think he (and dream) had had plenty of time to realise that this should not be the main point of what's happening. the main point should be the girl that george has unintentionally hurt who deserved an apology for that, and this is what he was supposed to end his statement on. i get where he was coming from, but instead of trying to search for a reason of "why she's doing this to me" he should've been Empathetic. she cried so fucking hard during that stream, and if that wasn't enough for him to start feeling bad, then he needs to go to fucking therapy and learn to be an emotionally responsible adult. you are twenty seven, she is nineteen. come the fuck on

i only follow about 13 people on here, which is a conscious decision on my part.
my favourite drivers are a) lando norris, who can't do anything right according to many f1 fans, especially the fans of dan, charles and lewis, and b) carlos sainz, who apparently is the sole reason why charles leclerc hasn't won an f1 championship by now, as if ferrari's ineptitude and charles' own mistakes don't exist.
why am i telling you all of this, you ask?
because i live (almost) in utter bliss. the people i follow normally don't partake in drama (something i feel the need to do every now and then). they live their f1 lives just enjoying the races and cooing over the same men that i adore. i have a safe space on this site that i've constructed to fit me to a tee.
but sometimes, things infiltrate it. i get anons who rant about things other drivers or tp's have said, and i welcome it. it makes me feel like someone who people want to come to with their pent-up frustrations. i don't always answer them because sometimes it's just for my ears or something that they need to get off their chest to a person that won't judge them (and i am open to that as long as the rant doesn't wish harm on anyone). sometimes people reblog my posts with less than savoury things about the people in the posts, normally carlos and lando. if that happens, i block. no questions asked. don't care who you are or who you support, if you talk shit on my posts, i obliviate you from my space.
what is my point?
i don't know tbh. i've just seen some posts where people are apparently talking shit about carlos and lando after sunday's race and i can't even fathom one reason as to why that is happening.
carlos is someone who has stuck up for other drivers that have been fucked over by the fia. the biggest ones are ofc abu dhabi 21 and lewis. still, apparently, lewis fans are saying, "fuck carlos, where was he in 21?" the answer is right beside lewis, talking about how the fia shouldn't get away with what happened. and now apparently lando is the bad guy cause he spoke his truth about red flag regulations which makes him "anti lewis" when he was one of the few that lewis actually talked to during the winter break, and just recently went golfing with him.
there seems to be a real disconnect in this fandom, and it's nothing new, not really. people would rather chop up videos, make up stories online or believe clickbaity headlines instead of looking at things critically or actually taking the time to watch and read what has been said. i know critical thinking and the internet doesn't go hand in hand, but i think some of you might like it if you tried it.
you don't have to like my faves; there's a chance i don't like your faves either. but being a decent human being who doesn't spend their time online being perpetually bitter or angry and sending abuse to people who either a) are just doing their job aka mechanics and strategists or b) have another opinion/point of view than you does not make you a better person, or a "seeker of truth".
when it comes down to it, we all have confirmation bias. i've been guilty of that as well, taking things someone has said and interpreting them in a manner that i want. has that ever made me feel better? no.
does it make you feel better taking things out of context or spending your precious time being angry at someone else for existing in the same sport as your fave? if it does, then lando talking about things he's passionate about in regards to racing or carlos (and other professionals) pointing out that his penalty was unfair is the least of your problems, and i'd recommend you try to figure out why that is.

I understand retirement of the blog but given the timing with edqey 'exposing' everyone it just seems... like you're running away? I don't mean to sound cruel or anything but it feels as if Glip wins. They want this blog to stop and now it is, effectively, stopping. Nothing was truly learned from this. Glip goes on a tirade to slander the blog, Lain, and anyone else calling them out with their community backing them up, edqey outs everyone behind the blog as 'toxic' and 'manipulative' and now the blog retires. It just feels really really bad.
I don't care about anything the person who thinks its cool to wish people die in plane crashes has to say. Especially since they have done this whole 'make wild batshit claims with no evidence against people I hate and swear its true and honest' game before with people completely unrelated to Floraverse or this blog.
Not even going to get into how they tried to strong arm Vinnie into moving in with them or how they stalked Hare's selfies, or how they thought it was appropriate to publicly post + directly tell Glip Iris's medical information - and then proceeded to fucking mock Iris for said medical information (Like, ok, I'm transphobic for privately saying I'm uncomfortable using it pronouns but will still use them - but mocking someone for a medical condition and revealing that medical condition to the public isn't ableist as all fucking hell?).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not to mention, the fall out with Jupi happened between us because they threatened Japhet, Japhet said he was afraid of them, and got really angry when we told the 28 year old adult to not harass the then 17 year old who was afraid of them.
I genuinely don't understand why I should care what someone like that has to say. I am genuinely confused on how I have to live of strict standards of never-ever expressing a stupid thought in the privacy of a small group chat of friends while Jupi gets to behave like this publicly and somehow their word doesn't lose merit? Why does the word of someone who behaves like this and has no evidence of their claims carry any weight to begin with? Especially since 3 of their main claims I already went ahead and proven are outright lies. [1] [2].
The rest of it is more related to Iris's server then here which Iris posted about here.
If you think Jupi said anything that has merit, let me know what the claim is and I'll try explain or give context. This remains true post retirement. Fuck man, you can even hit me up on my personal because despite Jupi previously claiming how important anonymity is for their "safety" extensively - they had no fucking issue dropping our names to the public a month after the initial incident occurred. What better way to send a message that you're not in this to make things right, but that you're in this to put people you dislike in danger.
I never claimed to be a perfect person. I don't expect perfection out of others, including Glip and Jupi. I just want people to do their best and improve themselves and stop hurting people. I like to think I've done that in these last few months. Meanwhile Jupi clearly gets a cruel sense of fulfillment out of tormenting people they perceived as 'wronged' them (My initial post that acknowledged them & pissed them off was more about MY fuck up then them - it was the first post I made publicly about them while meanwhile they have already made several about us. So I don't understand why they're so mad about us treating them in kind.), and do I even need to list the reasons on why Glip doesn't fall into this?
I want to retire this blog because I am an adult in my late 20tys who works a full time job. I'm fucking tired, and with Glip's recent admission I have nothing else left to say. I came back to this blog because I found out Glip let their cat perform oral sex on them. I stuck around past my intended retirement date because Glip admitted to fucking a second dog. (Yes Jupi, changing plans because of changing circumstances isn't the same thing as lying.) I see no better time to retire then now.

Too shy .. but I do agree with you on the Cerebrocast not getting QQ 😔.
OMG HI TWITTER PERSON ok context for everyone else i’ve been listening to cerebrocast (who do not like quentin) but i personally have so many thoughts about quentin quire and i DO hate it because he’s the stupidest whitest bitch in existence.
the thing is that i need his story to have been about white trans/queer rage because he literally looks like he has pink hair and pronouns and something something he looks like a walking trans flag with the pink hair and blue psionics and he’s a fucking PHOENIX HOST. YOU KNOW, THE X-MEN’S MANIFESTATION OF FEMALE RAGE??? ANYWAY. its just nonsensical to me that in new x-men morrison chooses their incel school shooter allegory to be…. a punk counterculture radical anarchist mutant who is driven to action when he sees a (implied gay) mutant fashion designer/activist killed in a hate crime. like i just dont think morrison understands politics. it’s a story that demonises leftist radical protesting/riots, and implies the youth doing it are just fucked up/co-opting it for a trend, and are also just super addicted to drugs all the time lmfao. and it is even bizarrer in retrospect because everyone in comics and making comics now pretty much agrees now that magneto IS right. that is just how minority politics irl have developed!! charles’ assimilationist bullshit is long past!!
HOWEVER. i do think there is a way to redeem/fix that and that’s if we think of it as a story that demonises WHITE counterculture. if we take it as a story that’s like yeah, white leftism and white queer/trans rage without intersectionality is just white supremacy. that tbh is what it should’ve been and i’m never giving grant morrison that credit but that’s what i wanted bc my god white gays are annoying and quentin is like such a perfect encapsulation of that entitlement. tbh. i like him so much as a character but if i knew him irl i’d block him on all platforms and throw him off a cliff etc etc
like i think it’s fine to take quentin’s writing in riot at xavier’s at face value bc morrison WAS seemingly aiming for a criticism on how people co-opt politics to be trendy and as an outlet for more personal issues which does happen! i just think the optics are bizarre for that and it falls into wild horseshoe theory shit and i dont think it WORKS you know i think there’s more interesting ways to take that character that aren’t like “the youth’s anger and protesting and counterculture is stupid” especially because we don’t really HAVE any radical characters that arent consistently villainised. and i think people have tried to do that since wolverine and the x-men with a more defanged pathetic quentin who is i think bi now? idk last i remembered christina strain made him lie that benji was his boyfriend in gen x 2017 but does that count? have they said it more explicitly since then? who knows i dont remember either way i think he’s better having been kicked down a few rungs and given growth. i like that his biggest fear is losing his friends/community at school. im glad that ppl have made him more fun as a character now… but they’ve also done that while wiping the political beliefs/allegory out of his character and making him just that superior annoying dude instead of trying to tackle what it does mean for quentin to have a genuine rage and hatred for how the system oppresses and kills people like him. the story implies that rage was never really genuine and he was just acting out but that SUCKS and is BORING because fuck if im not also angry all the damn time about the state of the world! let us be angry about injustice without demonising that anger! like that is why i do think quentin does have a niche following of queer fans bc like for a moment we connected with that rage from a guy who looks like *waves hand in the air* that
also my hottest take that i got redpilled into via one article i read years ago is that i think idie/quentin/evan could’ve been the next insane phoenix jean/scott/logan love triangle. a LOT of work and writing would need to be done to actually make me care about quentin in any relationship but the potential was there and could’ve been great tbh. we’re long past that era now but sometimes i think about how i would reboot that whoooole schtick into something cohesive like it could’ve been a subversive little queer story of colour if watxm volume 2 wasnt just the quentin quire show and idie/evan got more spotlight and if it wasnt completely incomprehensible or had unfortunate art. BUT ANYWAY.
THIS GOT SO LONG AND IS SOOO INDECIPHERABLE SO SORRY ANON I JUST WANTED TO RANT AND TRULY TWITTER HAS A WORD LIMIT ❤️❤️ thank u for ur support ❤️❤️❤️

Did they believe in Santa?
Scarlett does believe in Santa, in present tense lmao. It was something she grew up believing (though maybe under another name instead of 'Santa'), it got enforced during her time with Rhiannon and she never got to know the truth. Nowadays, though, if you were to tell her she wouldn't believe you, and if you tell her that it's the parents' doing she'd probably snap in orphan 😭
Were they a dinosaur or rock kid?
If I had to guess, maybe a rock kid (?), for the collector aspect. She collects tiny things in the present, so it'd make sense that she started with interesting rocks.
Bugs or slimy critters?
Bugs, especially if tiny. You can find her admiring butterflies or ladybugs, maybe also bees or caterpillars. It gets funnier when she has a spider walking across her hand and the other person freaks out because she's insane (and they'd be right 😭).
Do they fidget? How?
Not much. Scarlett might fidget with the fabric of her clothes or with her gloves when she's nervous or awkward, and play with her hair if she's thoughtful or interested (on someone or something).
What were they frequently in trouble for as a child?
Fighting other kids lmao. Especially when they'd borrow something of hers without asking, or didn't let her play the piano of the house. She was raised amongst other orphan kids in a very chaotic environment with few limits, so she was a very explosive child that would yell or throw tantrums if something didn't sit right with her, which, of course, brought her isolation punishments and hostility from everyone around her. Habits like these got milder as she grew up, but never completely left, as you may notice 💀
What underwear do they like?
Scarlett simply wears some comfortable cotton underwear of a solid color, like black, with some details in another color. She likes wearing lingerie but only in special occasions that would require her to show it. She likes to wear thigh-high socks or stockings almost daily though, so she uses garters daily too cuz Thighs™.
Designs on clothing or no?
Most her clothing is monochromatic, aside from her corsets. So, no.
Birthmarks?
No, only a mole/beauty mark on her right shoulder.
Do they have good self-control?
Sort of. You will know when she's angry, she will speak up if something made her upset. But only in specific situations she'd let the situation escalate; like some things she strongly believes in go beyond her need to keep composure and some others hit her so hard or catch her so off-guard that she'd throw everything out the window to express herself, either with anger... or excitement! She feels violently, but context matters.
Applied to her Ghoulism, she learned self-control for her sake (and others'), but it can't be pushed too far. She can be chill around blood or drink it under circumstances, but if nothing stops her once she got a taste or if she did it out of anger, she will keep going. And going. And going. And going. And before you notice she ate you. LOL
Do they re-enact scenarios in the shower?
If anything, it'd be reflection what she'd do in her alone times if something feels off, lots of thinking and finding solutions to existential problems. But also, if something good happened to her she'd think about it a lot, and her thoughts would make plans to make it happen again, driven by the nice time she had. And she'd most likely daydream a lot more if she's in love/in a relationship 🤭
Do they tell the waiter that their order is wrong?
Yes, and would do it for her date if they are too shy do do it themselves (she just wouldn't go out alone, lol). If they cooperate it won't be that terrible, if they don't... well. Unless it's meat, she would eat it anyway and make sure they will listen to her afterwards and regret not have listened earlier 😭
Stairs or elevator?
Stairs. She wouldn't purposefully take an elevator. Not out of fear, rather distrust because technological box of teleportation?!?!?!
Are they an exaggerator when telling stories?
No, but she can be uncannily detailed. Due to her hyperthymesia, she recalls all events perfectly, and that's how she can tell them. Because of that, she'd try to reduce it to the important basics to save time, no one needs to know what the weather was like in 1845 or how her breakfast tasted 36 years ago. It can be funny though, but ultimately she'd cut it short, overlooking whatever the situation made her feel but maybe adding her thoughts on the event afterwards?
She'd be a great witness in trials though.

50% Crowley theory 50% Crowley Angst
Let's talk Crowley and religious trauma because I just got done rewatching s2, this time with the company of my mother (the absolute icon that she is).
Side note, this is 50% theory and 50% character speculation, so enjoy this behemoth of a post.
After we finished e6, my mom and I had a lovely little discussion about the roles of both the Metronome (yes, she actually called him this) and God. Much of the discussion revolved around wether or not God was a malicious/cruel force in the Good Omens universe. While my mom had made the argument that yes, God in this universe is not a sympathetic character, I ended up arguing the opposite.
And I can easily see how she would come to that conclusion. Heaven, after all, has been shown to be pretty morally dubious. But that's just the thing. Heaven and God are two completely separate entities. And that's a really, really, really important distinction (especially for Crowley's character). Crowley hates Heaven, yeah, but does he hate God? I would make the case that he doesn't. In fact, I think he might actually still love Her.
In s1 he literally talks to God about his fall. Obviously, he doesn't get any sort of reply, but he doesn't seem angry here in the slightest. He's just sad. Sad and literally begging God not to destroy humanity. That does not seem like hate to me. And if he resented God for his Fall, why would he still be talking with Her? Why would he be trying to reason with Her? But let's keep going. In season 2 when he sees God talking to Job, I don't get any anger here either. Unlike the scene in s1, I don't get sadness either. I get wonder, and just a hint of envy. He wants to be able to ask these big questions, to speak with God even if he doesn't get a proper answer. That means something to him.
But why would he still love God if She cast him out? Well, I actually don't think She was the one to do it. I think it was the Metronome (yes, I'm calling him that until the end of time). I mean, Crowley recognizes him immediately and Metronome over here recognizes him right back. And even more that that, the Metronome was the one at Gabriel's trial, not God herself. If the trial of the Supreme Archangel Gabriel doesn't warrant the appearance of God, why would Crowley's Fall? Crowley got in trouble for asking God too many questions. And what happened when Aziraphale tried asking questions in s1? He spoke with the Metronome. It's pretty reasonable to assume the same thing happened to Crowley.
So what does this do for his character? Well, it gives some additional context to his conversation with Aziraphale, especially that second "tell me you didn't". Because I get some genuine fear from David Tennant's performance in that moment, and this would definitely explain why. It also gives him some delicious internal conflict and adds to his whole wanting-to-be-a-good-person-but-that-puts-him-in-immortal-danger thing. Because loving God would be like, the ultimate demon no-no. Loving in general is pretty unacceptable, but loving God???? And that would just make his isolation among the demons that much more significant. Of course he became so set on helping Aziraphale. Aziraphale was (is?) all he had (has?) in so many ways, this is just another one of them. And adding onto all of that, knowing that a God, his God, would sit there and allow him to feel all these immensely painful feelings and then not even finding it in himself to be hateful or angry at Her...Just hateful of the systems build around Her 'ineffable plan'...There's something deeply compelling and deeply human about that, which I find very relatable.
