Lovely humans- the time has come for ILW to get its well deserved beach filler episode! I've been posting sneak peeks for a bit and I'm so happy that I can finally share the finished product with yall~

Okay but so far, "The Elementalists" series, the "Queen B" series, the "America's Most Eligible" series, the "It Lives" series, and "The Royal Romance" series all take place within the same world (and I'm pretty sure almost all of the visual novels in choices take place in the same world but so far these are the ones where there are visible cameos and connections) and that makes it so funny to me because like

Over here a student has started attending magical college and is learning about themself and their past, over here a girl is taking her first steps into developing the personality of, in her own words, "a budding serial killer" after being exposed to the politics of elite college life, over here another person is taking part in the world's messiest reality tv show, and over there a group of high schoolers and college kids are fighting for their lives against eldritch monstrosities they barely even understand and, if you're not careful, are dying in absolutely horrific ways, and over here a random civilian is getting coached on marrying into royalty

CFWC Advisory Board

Hey y'all! We'd like to create a CFWC Advisory Board. This is a new idea and a work in progress, so the exact way it will work is subject to change. As of now, we'd like to form a group of ten fandom members that represent a cross-section of creators from different Choices fandoms. It will include writers and artists, and it's important to us that board members represent the diversity within our fandom.

The purpose will be to discuss CFWC policies and events to continue to inspire creativity, support our community, and ensure fair representation for all. To be eligible for the board consideration, you must:

Be an active creator of the Pixelberry Choices Fandom. For purposes of the board, "active" will be defined as creating within the past 12 months; the past 6 months is preferred.

You should be following CFWC and participating in events, or at least have familiarity with them.

You must be comfortable sharing your thoughts amongst board members and committed to doing so in a respectful manner, even when disagreement occurs.

As a creative community, we are opposed to the use of AI "art" and "writing." It is based on theft from real creators, and it diminishes their worth. Therefore, all members of the board must take a pledge to refrain from using/posting AI creations.

At this time, we're limiting consideration to those who are 18 or older.

There will be no ongoing administrative duties, but we will set time aside to discuss various ways to improve CFWC, help support the Choices Fandom Community, and plan future events. (The manner in which we do this will be decided upon later. We're leaning toward Discord, but that is not set in stone.)

If you would be interested in becoming a board member, please send a DM to @jerzwriter, and a very brief questionnaire will be sent to you. Requests will be taken through the end of February 2024. The selection process will be determined by the volume of responses.

Thinking about how the one who chooses to take Jane's place as Redfield admits to her that they're scared.

And how the other is never asked the question because since the former had taken Jane's place, there was no need to continue the game, no need for them to answer. But the truth is that they're still scared, both of them, the one who sacrifices themselves and the one who has to watch them do so.

And the game is symbolism of their trauma and by playing it, they all have to face and confront their trauma and issues head-on. And by saying that you're not 'scared', they're finally able to accept and move on from it. But being 'scared' is a metaphor for still being stuck in your trauma and unable to move on from it. Like Jane is. And to let Jane move on, Noah or MC have to take her place as the new monster, becoming the one stuck in the past, while everyone else moves on.

But Noah and MC, the one who remains, don't move on. They never say it but they're still 'scared', still stuck on what happened that day, when they were unable to save the other. And so in ILB and ILW, we see they're still working on saving the other, their determination bordering on obsessive.

And that's what makes Noah and MC's relationship so, so, so important. The only way they can move on, the only way they can stop being 'scared' is by saving the other. They understand each other in a way no one else can because they're both still 'scared', arguably even during the epilogue of ILW. But they know that with the other by their side, they'll be okay, that someday they'll be able to stop being scared.
