Summary: A stranger buys the farmstead nearby and disturbs your sleepy village life.

As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.

You come up to the bakery, the wagon rolling noisily behind you. You peer through the window as you try to pep talk yourself into going inside. You near the door but shy away as someone else does the same. You wait for them to go in before you do the same.

The door hits the wagon as you draw it inside. It’s bit of a hassle to get it through and there isn’t much room between the counter, the customers, and the table. You’re just in everyone’s way.

“Hey,” your name slices through the dread, “over here.”

You spin and see Chris standing behind a table against the wall. You clear your throat and put your head down, murmuring excuse mes as you weave your way through the queue. You steer the wagon up next to the table and bend the handle back.

“I was getting nervous,” he says.

You look at him. What does he mean?

“I got you some pie,” he gestures to the table, “but uh, wasn’t sure if you do tea or coffee.”

“I’m okay,” you sit and fold your arms, trying to shrink down as the business of the place makes you sweat.

“I still gotta grab myself a coffee, so I don’t mind,” he stays standing.

“It’s fine,” you stare at the pie. It looks delicious but it feels like a trap.

“Well, then, I’ll just have to guess,” he shrugs and backs away.

He marches over to join the line of customers. You hunch down as you peek over at him. His hair is shaved close on the sides, the top a bit longer, softer looking, and his goatee looks thicker than your first meeting. The shadow of stubble darkens his jaw and adds to its squareness. You think he’s older than you, he must be.

He holds his wallet in his hand, tapping it on his thigh as he waits. The muscles in his arms tense with each move. His biceps are huge. You shouldn’t stare like that.

You turn to look at the pie. It’s just pie; pastry, sugar, and apple. So why does it taunt you?

You wallow in the internal battle. You can’t unwind the riddle that is this stranger. Why did you agree to come here? You could’ve just told your grandma his name and she’d leave you alone. Well, you’ve always been terrible at saying no.

“Honey cinnamon latte,” Chris startles you as he sits across from you, clinking down a large bowled cup in front of you as he puts his own at the other end.

“Um,” you blink and swallow tightly, “thank you.”

“No problem,” he smiles. You look at the dusting of cinnamon across the foam. Silence bubbles up between you, the buzz of the other customers doing nothing for the tension. “You know, I haven’t gotten out much. My first trip to town.”

You nod and wring your hands in your lap.

“You come here often? It’s a nice place?”

You shake your head.

“Right, uh,” he crosses his arms over the table and leans forward, “you haven’t tried the pie.”

You bite the inside of your lip and reach for the fork. You slice off the corner of the slice and lean forward to take a bite. You feel him watching you as you scoop it into your mouth and you meet his unwavering gaze. You quickly pull the fork away and chew.

You choke down the flaky crust and try to smile, “it’s good.”

He sighs and brings a hand up to prop his chin in. He squints at you, “you don’t like me.”

“Hm?” Your eyes nearly pop out of your head, “No, I didn’t–”

“I’m being pretty damn nice here,” he grits, “and you won’t even look at me.”

“I’m… sorry, I’m just…” nervous, useless, shy, broken, stupid… You could go on but you’re too embarrassed to say it out loud. “I wasn’t… I just came to get groceries.”

“I’m confused,” he says promptly and drops his arm again, sitting up as he keeps his elbows on the table, “you walk all the way up to my place and give me a sweet little pie, then run away like I’m some sort of monster.”

“Well, I… I was just… my grandma sent me,” you chuff out, “I’m sorry, I’m…” you put the fork down and reach for your satchel. You pull out your change purse and look over at the menu, “I’ll pay you back for the pie and coffee.”

“Keep your damn money,” he growls and you flinch, sitting up straight at the harshness in his tone. “It’s my treat. I want you to enjoy it. If you’d just relax.”

You stare at him. His jaw ticks and he clutches his hands tightly together. His knuckles turn white as his arms flex against the constraint of his tee shirt.

The change purse slips out of your hands and sends coins all around. You squeak and slip off the chair to gather up the mess. You reach around the wagon as you feel the eyes of everyone else witnessing your disaster. As you reach the other wheel, Chris meets you with a handful of nickels and dimes.

You take them shamefully and stuff them away. The thought of paying him back with scrounged up coins chafes in your cheeks. This can’t get any more humiliating.

“Thanks,” you clasp the change purse shut and stand. You look at the wagon then the table. You’ve already upset him, you should just sit down and be polite, just like Grandma would tell you.

You resume your seat and pull close the cup. You bend to inhale the scent of cinnamon. He watches your every move. You peer up at him, eyes glazing with unspent tears.

“It smells really good,” you squeak out. He nods and stares. You lift the cup and take a dainty sip, patting away the residue with your knuckle, “it’s really good. Thank you, Chris.”

The agitation twitches in his jaw one last time and he lets his shoulders relax. He reaches across to nudge the pie closer to you. You grab the fork again and line up the plate with the large cup. Your stomach churns even as the sweet aroma tempts you.

“Where I’m from,” he leans in as you poke at the flaky criss cross of the crust, “people aren’t so nice.”

You blink at him as the edge in his voice tingles down your spine.

“We operate on respect,” he says tersely.

You hover the forkful of pie above the plate and gulp. Your lips part as you stare at him. What did you do wrong?

“Do you know what respect is?” He sneers.

“Sir–”

“That’s a start,” he interjects hotly, “respect is accepting a damn gift with a smile on your face, sugar.”

Your cheeks pinch and your eyes tinge. You make yourself smile and shovel the pie into your mouth. You flick your lashes against the swell in your throat. 

“That’s it,” he scoffs, “you’re learning.”

Stickmin Fandom Secret Valentine's Info Post/Sign ups!

Check, check, this is androidcharles telling you guys about my new secret Valentine’s day event! A fandom I was once a part of did this a while back and I thought it was a pretty swanky idea, so I thought I’d host a secret Valentine’s myself. This’ll be the first Secret Santa thing that I’ve ever hosted, so please keep in mind I will make mistakes! Here’s a deep dive in the scheduled events I have lined up (psst, under the read more! ↓):

Jan 14th through 18th: Sign Ups! This will be the sign up period! Make sure you use the template below to submit an NON ANONYMOUS ASK to this blog stating your wishlist and such. DO NOT WORRY, NOTHING WILL BE POSTED, however if you’re still squeamish, I’ll be more then happy to accept DMs as well. Sign ups will end at 12 AM CST in my timezone on Jan 18th exactly. Keep in mind any applications that pop up after this period will not be accepted, so make sure to sign up quick!

Jan 18th and 19th: Match-ups! This is when you will be receiving your giftee! You have to keep in mind that this is ABSOLUTELY SECRET and you cannot tell anyone about it. You will receive a message through DM who your giftee is as well as their wishlist and any applicable refs as well. Also keep in mind your giftee is not the same as your gifter; your gifter will quite possibly be a completely different person!

Jan 19th through Feb 13th: Gift Preparation! You will have at least four weeks in this time period to prepare your gift and give it all you’ve got. Please make sure it’s at least a good quality gift! I’m not asking you to repaint the Sistine Chapel, but it would be incredibly discouraging if you gave a sloppy MS paint doodle gift while your giftee managed to pull out all the stops and give something truly spectacular to theirs.

Feb 14th through 22nd: Gift Giving! At this point in time, you will be receiving and giving gifts! You can post your gift to tumblr (or DM it if you want) to your secret Valentine! Make sure you a.) @ the person you’ll be giving the gift to if you do post it and b.) @ me as well so I can see that you have posted your gift!

Keep in mind I don’t know how big this event will be, but in the event that I do get a huge reception from it, it’s better to have this kind of failsafe in mind JIC so everyone is comfortable with participating in the event.

Your gift request: Basically, what you want! Make sure you read the rules first, then specify exactly what you want.

Will you be able to do multiple gifts?: In the event that people drop out due to real life stress or otherwise, it’s best to have at least one or two who are willing to give extra gifts. Good Example: For my gift request, I would like anything with Henry! Be it something with him solo or just something related to Rosemin or Stickprice! I would prefer not to receive an animatic though, if that’s ok!

Bad Example: Draw my OC please! (doesn’t provide a clear ref but gives a ten mile long paragraph of what they look like)

This is a pretty obvious rule in hindsight, but please PLEASE do not request anything NSFW, gorey, anything to do with fetishes (feet, inflation, vore, ect). There are going to be minors participating in this event potentially, so we can’t have anything like that.

THIS SHOULD ALSO BE A GIVEN BUT PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR GIFT AS A WAY TO “ROMANCE” YOUR GIFTEE! I understand that with themes of love and romance it’s kind of standard, but this is more of a gimmick for fun’s sake, not some kind of matchmaker service. It especially gets bad if the person you’re trying to romance is a MINOR! You will be blocked and barred from participating in future events if you do end up doing this.

Canon ages for characters and such are VERY loose here, so make sure you use the Discomfort Corner section VERY LIBERALLY. If there’s a certain ship that makes you uncomfy b/c of HC ages, please make sure you state it there. Keep in mind that I am VERY AWARE of canon familial relationships and I will not hesitate to kick you out of the event if you insist on requesting something that borders on incest. I’m also allowing for angst requests, so please make sure you state if you’re not comfortable with that as well!

If you change your username at any point during this event PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I do not want someone DMing me during the gifting saying they can’t find you because you changed your username! Keep me up to date on any username changes so I can let your gifter know who to @!

If you’re DMing your giftee, please let me know so I can check you off. And if possible, the giftee needs to provide proof that they have received the gift as well!

PLEASE DO NOT HARASS YOUR GIFTER AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR GIFT! This is supposed to be in good fun and if you aren’t satisfied with your gift, then being a little shit isn’t going to win you any favors. You will be barred from future events if you decide to be a sore giftee about your gift.

And last but not least, I am giving at least four weeks to prepare your gift. If this isn’t enough time for you, you have to drop out of the event for any reason, and you have other obligations that might get in the way of this, please let me know ahead of time so I can contact people who can do multiple gifts to get started on making another gift.

If you do have your gift ready, but you don’t know if you’ll be able to post within the time period given, I will allow you to post it early so you don’t have to worry about not meeting the deadline

April 5th 2024, happy beloved 78th birthday to the one and only Jane! She’s been my inspiration for around 12 years since I first discovered about her. It’s been a wonderful journey getting to share new pictures I find, my scans, colourisations and accurate information in regards of the pictures I found. May I be able to meet her one day. 🤍

This post will be divided in two, as the picture shown was used for two different newspapers that I scanned therefore the subtle mark on the photos. And you might have seen the photos with my old username so I am sharing them with the new one!

In cities all across the U.S. this spring Beatle fans are swarming to a touring production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet staged by the Bristol Old Vic Company. When Juliet appears on stage for the first time the reaction is almost always the same. Applause thunders through the theater. Flash bulbs pop—electrifying the scene like summer lightning. At the end of the play young girls scream the name of the actress who plays Juliet: "Jane Asher! Jane Asher!" This is the girl they have come to see. To a Beatle fan Jane Asher's romance is even more exciting than the story of Romeo and Juliet. Jane Asher, in case you haven't heard, is the girl friend of Paul McCartney-the last unmarried Beatle.

To find out what kind of girl dates a Beatle and also has enough talent to

perform in one of England's most respected theatre groups, CURRENT EVENTS Editor Nancy Malone talked to Jane Asher in New York City. The 20-year-old actress seemed puzzled when asked why teen-age girls scream for her. "I don't really know," she said “and I don’t think they’re quite sure themselves. Once they’re with me, they seem a little lost and aren’t sure what to do or say”.

Miss Asher, in contrast to her fans, is not at all confused. She is looking the forward to a successful career in the theatre—on her own merit, not because of her friendship with a Beatle. The actress with the golden-red hair is well on her way to stardom. Her portrayal of Juliet with England’s Bristol Old Vic company has been highly praised. The company is nearing the end of 16-city american tour, which began in Boston last January. After appearances next month in Bloomington, Ind., Detroit, and Cleveland, the company will perform at expo 67 in Montreal. Then the actors and actresses will retur to England.

Does Jane Asher hope to do more Shakespeare? "Oh, yes." she said, “I'd like to do all the Shakespearean heroines-especially Lady Macbeth. But I'd also like to do modern comedy. I wouldn't like ever to stick to just one thing. For example, I don't want to do all movies or all stage. Though if I had to choose, I'd choose stage. I like having a live audience.

"I know you can become more famous by being in movies,", Jane said. "but I've had a taste of that kind of glamor, and I know I don't want it. I want to be a good actress." Jane, who has been acting since she was five years old, comes from a show business family. Her brother, Peter Asher, has toured the U.S. several times. He makes up one-half of the popular singing duo Peter and Gordon.

But Jane hesitates to encourage outer young people to become entertainers. "It's really not the glamorous life people imagine. It's hard work with rehearsals all day and shows every night. And when you come right down to it, acting is really only pretending you're something else on stage." Although Jane made several films during her childhood, she attended regular m schools—not acting schools for m professionals. "I'm glad I got a normal education," she said. "I think it gave me a more balanced view of life. In addition to several Shakespearean roles, Jane has played Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Wendy in Peter Pan, and Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion. Juliet, however, is the highlight of her career.

Cold Feet by @cold-blooded-jelly-doughnut: I had the joy of beta-reading this smushy beauty. It was so good that I actually did a pretty bad job as a beta because my editor hat fell off and I got totally absorbed. It takes the TWP of 'cold feet' literally and makes for the cosiest bedtime story of your life.

Chance Do Over, A by @lightningboltreader: A fic of 1000 words loaded with beautiful details of the farmers' market where a happy and loved-up TK and Carlos run into Gabriel and Andrea...and this time they know who TK is. It's a delightful feel-good read.

can i be close to you? by hoodieweather : a 5+1 fic where TK repeatedly asks Carlos if he'd still love him if he was a worm. The theme is so well sustained, and I love fluffy fics that incorporate silliness. I find myself thinking about this one often. I was out for a walk the other day and it popped into my head. It's so great when that happens.

Tumblr is the only social media I've found where my mutuals and even those blogs I don't follow back but that interact with me on a regular basis, despite me not knowing in person, really matter to me

I really care about my mutuals opinions, and seeing the same usernames pop up in my notifications genuinely makes me happy, I love seeing posts about little things in their life, and I want to make them feel better on bad days. It's just really nice that there's a real sense of familiarity even when interacting from a distance or despite never having a proper conversation that I've never got on other social media sites

Heya! I think I may have mentioned this to you before years ago, but I love your stories! (Pardon me if I gush) White Lilies absolutely killed me with the angst, but it fits so well with canon, particularly Naruto realizing he's in love with Hinata because he's jealous of another man showing interest in her (since that's literally what happened in The Last, and was confirmed in the movie's official databook). I also love how you don't have Hinata stuttering over her lines in your stories, since in canon she stopped doing that in the Invasion of Pain arc, yet a lot of other fanfic writers, including fellow NH fans, still like to write her as a stutterer, which just regresses her. Please keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what else you'll write! 🥰

I'm starting to think about making my own AO3 account because FF seems to be dying out as of late (my FF moniker is the same as my Tumblr one, although I haven't updated either of my two stories nor my bio in years). I was wondering if you could maybe give me advice or the pros/cons of having an AO3 account? Any help is appreciated as I think about this! 👍🙏

Uhhh it depends on how old she is in my fics, but if she's high school age or younger, she sometimes stutters, like in "Last Chance" and "Little Samurai." So about AO3!!!!!!!! ✨I love AO3.✨ I'm so happy with AO3, I don't feel the need to post my fics anywhere else, besides here on Tumblr. I highly recommend getting an account for these reasons:

name familiarity & building community - I love being able to recognize readers. I've been thinking about how writing is a fairly "lonely" type of activity. When I first started writing, I began to recognize the usernames of people who regularly commented or left kudos on my fics, and I just loved those people to pieces. It's just nice to have a sense of familiarity on AO3.

Bookmarking - If you want to save a fic for later, you can bookmark it and make a note of the chapter you left off on. It's a nice feature, especially if you're the type to keep tabs of fics you haven't read yet open. I use Bookmarking as like my personal favorites recommendation list because it's right on my AO3 profile. I also use other people's Bookmarks list to find good fics, and I've read a lot of random pairings in fandoms I'm not a part of due to Bookmarks.

Subscriptions - You can subscribe to a fic so that you get an email when a fic updates. You can also subscribe to users so that you can get an email every single time that writer updates or posts anything.

Archiving - You might want to consider migrating your old fics over to AO3 because it has a whole legal team and successful fundraising efforts to preserve your work, even if you might think your old fics aren't worth reposting. AO3 has so much strong, passionate support, there's very little chance of AO3 disappearing.

Preferences - You can customize AO3. So you can turn off the warning banners that always pop up on mature-rated fics and control what you receive email notifs for. You can also set a Site Skin from the AO3 options and the user-created ones, like the rainbow pink one I'm currently using. It just makes life that much happier. You can use all sorts of Site Skins that change the color of the background, change the text font to be easier to read, or hide your hit counts and other stats to protect your sanity as a writer.

History - Your account will keep track of all the fics you've read, so if you're looking for something you can find it again. Also, it's just interesting, but it will also tell you how many times you've visited that particular fic. Uhh apparently I've visited "21 Days" by BunnyHoodlum 455 times :D That must be partially because I've recommended it so many times.

Mark for Later - Besides subscribing or bookmarking, you can click a button that marks the fic for later. You would find this list on your History page. It tells you when you last visited the fic and whether there's been any changes to the fic since you last read it. So this is another cool way to keep track of all of the fics you're reading.

I've never posted on any other fanfiction site, so I can't compare, but I love how organized AO3 feels. The tagging system is to-die-for.

I love the posting features, like posting under different Pseudonyms, setting a fic as part of a series, linking in an inspired-by work, or gifting a fic to someone. I feel like AO3 put a lot into consideration so that it is user-friendly.

Another thing that writers can do is post challenges/claim challenges. I've never done this, but Sessakag has recently written for VulgarAssassin's prompts! This is one way that AO3 encourages community.

Another amazing thing that AO3 has is the ability to distance yourself from your own fics. You can orphan your own fic so that it is no longer linked to your page but will still be on AO3. The only problem is that you can't get it back. You can also add your fic to an anonymous collection, and I think if you ever wanted to, you could take off the anonymous hat and reveal yourself as the writer. I've never done this.

When I was considering cross-posting on ffnet and wattpad, people told me that I would reach way more people because people use those sites more. I mostly decided not to cross-post because I can't rationalize the extra work to upkeep multiple accounts and respond to comments. So perhaps the only downside to creating an AO3 account is that you'd have more accounts to manage and the platform has a smaller audience.

📚 Would you ever want to turn writing into a career?

yes, honestly, that is the dream. i might have a story in mind that i want to write, which i will probably do as a fanfic first, then adapt into a novel later. hopefully i will begin that project next year!

⌛ How long does it take you to write a fic, or a chapter?

it takes me anywhere from a day to a week lol. it depends on what i am writing, how excited i am to be writing, and how much homework i have.

💥 How do you feel about criticism?

there is...no easy answer for this. i am definitely open to constructive criticism, and i try not to take it too personally, but if people are just complaining for the sake of complaining, i can get bitchy. i do this for free, i'm not asking for criticism, and there's no need to complain about something you could simply not read.

but it depends on the person, the criticism, etc. i seek out constructive opinions from writer and reader friends all the time, as it is, and i am always very happy for their feedback.

i would definitely never give criticism unless asked, and i hope that others do the same.

Namjoon chuckles to himself and nibbles on the inside of his lip, turning onto his side as he stares at the screen. He wants to respond, but feels anxiety swirl around, making him dizzy and a bit nauseated. 

On one hand, if they have nothing in common, he can just move on—no harm done. But on the other, he would feel pretty bummed if he shot his shot with someone as cute as JayKay97 seems to be, only to fuck it up. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes on the exhale, attempting to find some inner peace. 

BonsaiDaddy94 Hey, JayKay97! I do happen to have a lot of plants. And I was just being clever. I suppose it's never too late to discover a new kink, though.

Immediately after hitting send, Namjoon feels embarrassed and mutters, "What am I doing," under his breath. He wonders if JayKay97 will read the message and think he is an idiot. He almost searches naver to find out whether or not one can delete a message that has been sent over Grindr, but then three little dots pop up, and Namjoon feels his heart pound in his chest with anticipation. As soon as a new message appears, Namjoon gasps and holds in his breath.

JayKay97 Wow, you're cute, aren't you? Do you work out, daddy? Do you mind if I call you daddy?

The breath that Namjoon had held in comes out as a scoff, and he reads the message three times, swallowing a lump in his throat as he decides what to say next. He hovers his thumbs over the keyboard, but the three dots pop back up. 

JayKay97 By the way, I found you in fresh faces. Is this your first time on the app?

Namjoon nearly gives up and goes to bed, abandoning the conversation entirely. But then he decides to give honesty a chance. Worst case scenario, he remains as lonely as he already is.

When I was younger, in high school, I ran an Alex P. Keaton role play page on Instagram.

The username there was the same as this one here, after a time.

There were a couple other Family Ties roleplayers, and I had a FANTASTIC Ellen that I got to rp with a lot.

One of the first people I met was a Marty McFly roleplayer, and we had the running joke of making Marty and Alex twin brothers. Just tweak their ages a bit, make Alex the adopted one to work with the BTTF storyline, and voila. I still like to go with that fanfic idea sometimes.

But I will say, I was not the nicest person at times. I won't excuse it by saying "I was going through a lot". Was I? Yeah, but let's face it, when you're in high school everyone goes through a lot. It's really how you handle it and how you take care of it that shows your character.

At that point in time, I was super upset and depressed. I was angry at everyone and everything in my life, and the only thing that made me truly happy at that time was Michael J. Fox--though it was through Alex P. Keaton.

So, I clung to it. I was really selfish about it. A different Alex rp page popped up and started being Alex and all that and I got super protective and bitchy about it. And I shouldn't have.

See, the thing about role-playing is that anyone can be anything. So if there were 2500 Alex P. Keatons, then those 2500 people had every right to be Alex P. Keaton on the platform.

I'm not sure why I'm saying something here, and now, and why I didn't when I was a kid. Probably because now I'm an adult and I was a kid. Who knows.

I just hope that, wherever that Alex person is, they're happy and living the best life. And I'm so sorry I was awful to them. You deserve the world and I hope your love for Alex, Family Ties and Michael didn't get ruined.

I hope my Marty and Ellen are doing alright too. I don't think these people realize how much I think about our old times on Instagram.

Pointers eh? 🧐 Well, as well as following blogs you can follow specific tags (you should get the option to do that whenever you use the search function)

So then you’ll get the occasional post related to that popping up on your dashboard, regardless of whether you follow the op

Also when you’re on the homepage there’s a tab called ‘your tags’ which you can filter with as many or as few of your followed tags as you like

• Tag Tips: It can also be useful to use more specific tags if you’re searching for a particular artist, especially lesser known ones. Quite often you’ll see a post for a band, but it’s tags will include several similar bands, which is an algorithm thing I suppose, but it can make it quite hard to find content about specific artists — I personally make a point not to do this, I always only tag with the band or bands that are related to the post, but it does seem to be a fairly common practice :/ BUT! Here’s how to get around that problem:

Let’s say you want to see some posts about Seaway, instead of typing Seaway into the search bar (and being met with several Neck Deep posts that happen to have the Seaway tag on them) it’s better to search ‘Ryan Locke,’ (or any other member of the band) or ‘Seaway Lyrics,’ or in this particular case where the band has their own cute nickname then ‘Seaboiz’ — then you’re more likely to see posts that are actually about the bands you’re searching for

Oh and if you’re on the search page, swapping between the ‘Top’ and ‘Latest’ tabs can be a good way to find new stuff 👍

• Follow Freely. That said, in my experience, following blogs is better than following tags — if you keep seeing certain usernames around the content you like, if you see me or any other blogs you follow rb-ing from the same person a lot, then check out that blog! Maybe reblog some of their stuff, give them a follow — and hey, if it turns out they don’t post quite what you thought they might, it’s okay to unfollow later. Or if they post a mix of stuff you like and stuff you really don’t like, the Tumblr settings allow you to block certain tags - then you can follow whoever and just get the good stuff (assuming it’s tagged properly, which it sometimes isn’t, but alas, ‘tis a risk we must take)

• Reblogs Rule! Speaking of reblogging, reblog. The reblog feature is what this site is built around, a scrapbook in which we all just share stuff we like for our followers to see. If you see stuff you like reblog it, that’s what helps the community thrive. You may also find yourself on a blog that has been inactive for many years but has some older content that you like. You absolutely can and should reblog that content. Timestamps don’t matter over here, if you like it then share it, regardless of when it was originally posted or if the op is still active 🤘

And speaking of reblogging, when you do you’ll have the option to add tags – now you can simply add tags for search purposes; reblogging a post about Fall Out Boy? Tag it with #Fall Out Boy and then when you search that tag on your blog, you’ll be able to see that post again — but you also have free reign to put whatever you want in the tags, almost like a ‘soft comment’ a little bit of commentary regarding your instant reaction to the post, such as #omg I forgot about this song or #hell yes this bands rules or #whoa this edit looks super cool for example, but you can really write anything, and that can give the person you reblogged from a bit more insight into your thoughts and feelings regarding the artist or the post in question

• ‘Laundry Listing.’ Oh, and I just thought- it’s not as common nowadays, but a little while ago you’d fairly often see people post something along the lines of ‘Hey I’m looking for other people that are also into [insert laundry list of bands] like/reblog if any apply’ — so it could be worthwhile making a post like that, or if you find a post like that then reblogging and tagging it with the ones that do apply

• And last but not least, in fact perhaps the most important tip of all I can give you is this:

“Build It And They Will Come”

Basically, if you yourself post* about certain bands or artists, more often that not you’ll tend to find fans will gravitate towards you and follow you/reblog your stuff. In my experience, this is always felt like the best way to find like-minded fans of certain artists

*and I say post, but this can include reblogged posts from other people as well as your own posts

I mean, part of the whole reason I made this blog in the first place was I could barely find any content about some of my favourite bands (Every Avenue, The Downtown Fiction, The Academy Is…) so I thought ‘fuck it, I’ll make it myself’ — and that’s what I did. People started following me, I followed some of them back, and now here we are

So there you go! This is all just based off of my own experience here, and sorry if this was a bit of an info overload or if you already knew some of it, but still, those are the main tips I can think of, I hope any or all of this helps, and I hope your twitter refugee journey goes smoothly! NTTF was an amazing read, and your Aemond fic was a joy to read after finishing NTTF (even though the ending killed me, I was not prepared for that 😭). Knowing how great NTTF was, I don't doubt your future work will be just as beautifully written!

I did have a question, just out of curiosity. Would you ever consider allowing people to print out a copy of NTTF? AO3 typically allows readers to download fics as files, and I've known an author who allowed people to print out copies of their book but specifically prohibited anyone from profitting off their writing. It's just something to add to my growing book collection. If it's not something you feel like allowing, that's quite alright! The series is something I hold dear to me, no matter the format.

I truly admire you and your writing skills. It's been a huge encouragement in my own path as it is a struggle to consistently keep myself motivated to write in between school and work. Your writing has inspired me after months of struggle. I wish you the best and hope to read your book once it is published! 💓
