Jersey Stealing Pt. 3
This one is loooooong. I mean it. Probably longer then part one, but it's worth it. If you all were waiting for the bullies comeuppance, this part is for you.
Amity. Is. Pissed.
***
Amity leaned against the cold steel of the flagpole, her eyes peeled. Normally the witch hated using the internet to look up people. The human world's connected network was so filled with obnoxious jerks that it was no wonder Luz had one of them as a grom fear.
This was different though. She had to find what this girl looked like. As she stared into the endless amount of students milling out of the school her mind began to drift back to the night before.
As expected, her conversation with Luz didn't exactly lead anywhere.
***
"Hey Luz? Can we... can we talk?" Amity asked hesitantly, watching as Luz got ready for bed. The witch had been patiently waiting for the right time to approach her about this, and now was as good of time as any.
Luz blinked in the mirror, before turning around and facing Amity, her toothbrush still hanging out the corner of her mouth.
"Mhmm?" Came the muffled reply as Luz adjusted the brush in her mouth to scrub at the other side.
"I can wait until you're done you know." Amity rolled her eyes with a smile.
Luz made a face behind the toothbrush.
"Mhhhm. Mhmm hhmmmm!" She argued fiercely as she turned to face the sink again.
Grabbing the water nearby, Luz cleaned her mouth and spit out what was left of the toothpaste, turning to Amity with a grin.
"No no!! See! All done!" Luz beamed, flashing her minty smile and making Amity laugh. She leapt from the bathroom to the bed and sat cross-legged facing Amity.
"Whatcha wanna talk about?"
"I want to talk about what happened a couple of nights ago."
Luz's eyes widened before she waved her hand in front of her face.
"Oh that? It just caught me off guard. I'm fine now-"
"No you're not!" Amity said quickly, before Luz could try denying it all again. "You haven't been acting like yourself lately and I'm not the only one who noticed."
"Amity. I'm fine. It's all in the past anyways." Luz assured her, her smile fading to a small sliver. "Like I said, I just wasn't expecting to see them ther-"
"I know what happened. At the game. What they said to you." Amity interrupted her again, her voice coldly serious.
Shock registered on Luz's face before her hands found the blanket underneath them and gripped it tightly. She looked down at it as her face hardened, her expression guarded.
But Amity wasn't done.
"Lokte asked their brother if he heard anything and their brother told me." She continued a little more softly, reaching out to put a hand on Luz's knee.
"I asked your mother about Sasha. I think I have an idea of what she meant to you."
"Amity..."
The blanket twisted harder, Luz's fists balling it into a small knot.
"It's ok to be upset. But you've got to let me in on these things, how else am I supposed to help?"
Luz finally looked up to her. Brown eyes met amber ones and Amity realized with a shock just how watery they both had become.
"Can we... can we please not talk about it? It's in the past. Anything she might have meant to me is all gone now, right? So why bother?" She practically mumbled, defeat dripping from her voice.
"Well it's not in the past to me! I'm still learning about all of this. And they can't keep treating you like that!" Amity argued.
"They don't matter to me. I've got Willow and Gus, and Eda and Lilith." Luz said quietly, slowly unwrapping her hand from the blanket to grab Amity's, a slow grin reappearing on her face.
"Annnnnnd I've got you." Luz waggled her eyebrows playfully causing Amity to choke out a laugh past the knot in her throat.
"Luuuuuzzz." The witch groaned as her girlfriend's grin grew bigger.
"I'll be fine, perfectly fine, so long as I've got someone as wonderful as you taking care of me." Luz teased further.
Amity groaned again and gave her a light shove.
"You're such a cheese."
"You're right, I am a cheese. A big cheese to everyone who counts!" Luz shot back, straightening up and leaning dramatically on Amity's shoulder, crushing her into the bed.
"And you loooooovvveeeee me." Luz sing-songed as she flipped over and laid on Amity's chest, looking her in the eyes.
Amity stared back into those big, dopey brown eyes and obnoxious grin and felt her heart flutter. Her face went red as she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah. I do." She chuckled, leaning forward to kiss Luz on the forehead and making her girlfriend squeak in delight.
"Which is why I'm letting this go for tonight. But this isn't over Noceda!"
Luz merely grinned.
"I'd expect nothing less from you, Blight."
***
A sharp whistle jolted Amity out of the memory. She sneered at the guy responsible as he winked at her and disappeared inside the school.
The sooner she found Sasha, the better.
Another wolf whistle had her moving up and into the school. Navigating the hallways of the human school was a lot like finding her way around Hexside. The only problem was, she had no idea where Sasha could be. A thought crossed her mind as she made her way to the back of the school. If there was anyone who knew where Sasha could be, it was Bryce.
And Bryce was the star player of the football team.
Amity pulled plenty of attention with her wherever she went. If she wasn't recognized for Hockey, her hair caught enough attention. Even though the dye job had faded just to the very ends of her hair, the bright green attracted many eyes.
Despite all of this, she thankfully wasn't stopped as she made her way through the school and past the bleachers to the team currently practicing out on the field. She found Bryce fairly quickly.
Or rather. He found her.
"Oh would you look at that boys! This is the babe I was telling you about!"
Amity growled in her throat as a bunch of sweaty football players started running towards her. Their leader, the person she assumed was Bryce, had his helmet off and was walking calmly over to her, a disgusting grin plastered on his face.
"Is it true you checked Ricky Gormley so hard that he cried?"
"I heard that you're the best shot on the team, why are you only on defense?"
The questions swarmed her ears as the boys surrounded her. Instead of addressing any of them, she glared at the player without the helmet.
"I assume you're Bryce."
Bryce's grin grew as smugness flashed in his eyes.
"Why, have you heard of me?" Bryce acknowledged her with a wink that made Amity's skin crawl.
She pushed through the unease and disgust.
"I've heard... some things." Amity admitted, keeping her face blank.
Bryce nudged his friend in the ribs. The known bully leaned against the other player as he waggled his eyebrows at Amity.
"So whatcha doing round here?" Bryce teased.
"I heard you might know where I could find Sasha. I've got a few questions for her."
The football player deflated for a moment before quickly recovering and sliding off his friends shoulder with a smile.
"Yeah. I know where she is. But it's going to cost ya" He grinned wickedly. "How about a date with me. Next Friday after the game. I'll even let you wear my jersey." He winked as his friends loudly gasped and laughed.
Amity smiled and used her finger to draw Bryce is close. As he leaned in, he moved his head so she could whisper in his ear.
"I have a different proposition. How about you tell me where Sasha is, and I won't embarrass you in front of your entire team." Amity growled lowly, making sure only Bryce could hear her.
To her annoyance he simply straightened and flashed her another insufferable grin.
"Ohh. That sounds like fun. I accept your terms hockey girl." He taunted loudly, getting into a ready stance.
His posse seemed to get even more rowdy at this, not having heard what Amity said and jumping to their own conclusions.
Amity rolled her eyes. Turning as if she was going to leave (a chorus of boos sounded behind her) she quickly whipped around and caught Bryce off guard. Using her shoulder to send him sprawling backwards while sticking her foot behind his own, he crashed to the ground in an instant. Amity took a step forward and stood above him, arms crossed.
"Tell me what I want to know or it's going to be more then just the wind getting knocked out of you." She snarled, stepping back and allowing him to get up.
Bryce blinked from his grounded position on the field.
"Hot." He breathed out, a little dazed.
Amity growled as Bryce leapt to his feet, showing no signs of any injury or slowing.
"Alright. You got me. Sasha is usually in the art classroom after school talking with the teacher. Don't know why, but I also don't care."
Amity rolled her eyes and turned to walk away, fighting the urge to make another comment or throw another punch. If Luz could keep her composure around him, then so could Amity.
That was, until the brute grabbed her arm. She reluctantly let him swing her around and to her surprise Bryce looked almost... shy.
"Wait. So about that date..."
"You've already been told I'm taken. I doubt it takes long for even an oaf like you to figure out I don't like guys." She snarled back at him, taking his hand off her arm and twisting it painfully until he crumpled forward in pain.
"You're going to leave my girlfriend alone from now on, or I will come back." Amity threatened lowly, releasing his wrist and pushing the football player back as he stared blankly wide-eyed and nursed his hurt wrist. "And next time you touch me, I'll break your wrist."
Amity turned around and started walking back up to the bleachers, the stunned silence of the team following her. Despite how good it felt to put Bryce in his place, to wipe the grin off his face, she immediately began to worry that she crossed a line. What if he came after Luz for the things she said?
Taking a quick glance over her shoulder the witch saw the injured player grinning at her once again. He cupped his hands over his mouth and yelled back up at her.
"Playing hard to get eh? I'll see you again hockey girl. I know you can't wait!" He yelled up at her before turning to his teammates.
His voice was faint but it carried up to Amity's ears nonetheless.
"She must've heard about that creep Luz hitting on her. Honestly had me going for a second. Good to see she's got a sense of humor though!" He laughed to his team.
Amity wished, not for the first time that the human world had just a little magic.
She would give anything to be able to burn the bully to ash.
***
Luckily doodles and posters adorned the 'art' hallway like signs pointing Amity where to go. It was far more quiet here then any of the other sections of the school and Amity almost felt like a ghost, hearing her footsteps echo loudly around her as she walked swiftly through the hall.
Her ears twitched from under the bandanna she wore like a sweatband. Following the faint sound of laughter, Amity found the girl she was looking for standing at the front of a large classroom with double doors.
Peering into the room Amity could see that Sasha was talking with an older woman with graying hair and kind eyes. They were both laughing at something the younger girl had pulled up on her phone, neither of them noticing the intruder.
Amity took the time to analyze her target. Sasha seemed to be a much different person now then how she appeared in her photos. Instead of the flowery and airy style she carried and wore in all of her pictures, she was dressed casually, wearing sweatpants and a bulky sweatshirt that almost threatened to consume her thin frame. It wasn't the wardrobe that drew Amity's eye however, it was the small almost barely visible strip of pink that waved in her otherwise blonde hair.
Unconsciously, Amity's hand went to the remainder of her own dye job.
The movement was enough to garner attention as both teacher and student turned to face the doorway. As Sasha's green eyes met her amber ones, Amity remembered why she was here. Her blood began to boil. Here she was, so calm and collected, so... confident, while Luz had been quiet and withdrawn for days now. It wasn't fair.
Not waiting to be addressed, she strolled straight into the room.
"Can I help you miss?" The teacher asked kindly, freezing Amity in her advance. The witch stiffened. Collecting herself quickly, Amity turned around with a wide smile.
"No it's quite alright. I'm sorry I was in such a rush! I must've forgotten my manners. I just really would like to talk to my friend over here."
"Is that alright Sasha?" The lady turned to the blonde haired girl with a raised eyebrow.
Sasha looked between the two people in front of her before shrugging casually.
"I'll be right back Ms. Reinard. Me and... uh, Amity, right?" Sasha looked over at the witch for reassurance and got a stiff nod as a response.
"Me and Amity are just going to step out into the hallway real quick." Sasha finished politely as she stuck her hands in the pocket of her sweatshirt and walked Amity out into the hallway.
"So... um. Why is the lead star of the hockey team wanting to talk to me?" Sasha asked quite shyly when they were far enough out of earshot. Not knowing where to stand, she settled with leaning against a locker.
Amity did not follow her lead. Instead she tore off the jersey she had on, leaving her standing in the hallway in just a white tank top and blue jeans. Sasha stared at her curiously as the witch began to fidget with the jersey.
"I wanted to ask you about something that happened at my last game." Amity said coolly, her tone level.
"Oh. You must've heard about Luz..."
Amity's heartrate spiked at the name of her girlfriend but she kept her face straight. Eyes half lidded. Don't show any emotion. Gain as much information as you can. That was the way of the Blight.
"One could say that." Amity replied casually. "What do you think of her?"
Sasha's eyes widened almost guiltily as Amity continued turning her jersey over in her hands.
"She's... she's nothing you should worry about. Luz is mostly harmless." The girl sighed, looking down at the ground and avoiding the witch's intense stare.
Amity's hands gripped tighter into the fabric of her jersey.
"That didn't answer my question." The witch ever so subtly growled.
"I don't understand what you mean?"
"My question was what you thought about her. Though in all fairness, I guess it doesn't matter. Luz never really cared about what everyone else seemed to think about her. Everyone except you."
Sasha stared at her with wide eyes as Amity's face twisted into a frown. Amber eyes drifted down at the jersey.
"Are you... ok?" Sasha asked after a moment. When Amity didn't answer right away, the girl took a step forward.
Reacting quickly, Amity side stepped the hand that was coming down to rest on her shoulder and instead tossed her jersey up in the air.
"Yeah. Hold that for a second would you?"
Sasha lunged forward to catch the jersey just in time as the fabric unraveled in her hands. Suddenly, the tag attached to the back was sticking out. Sasha eyes locked onto it immediately just as Amity knew they would. After all, the colors Luz chose were hard to miss.
"What is this?"
"First you don't answer my question, now you're you saying you can't read either?" Amity snapped.
The witch knew what was on the tag. Knew that Sasha would've understood it. Should've understood it.
When Amity had first gotten her jersey she had been a little nervous. A new jersey meant a new team. A new chance for her to get her teammates injured again.
Luz didn't see it like that however. She was ecstatic, making sure it fit Amity well and making sure that she was plenty excited about her new jersey. When her girlfriend still had some reservations about it, Luz claimed it was simply because she hadn't made it *hers* yet. Taking some markers and dashing out the door with the shirt, Luz emerged from wherever she had been hiding a few minutes later with a very bright and colorful tag that read:
'Property of Amity.' With a small drawing of a hockey stick and puck.
A couple of weeks and jersey stealing incidents later and there appeared another line on the tag.
'Property of Amity. And Luz! (her amazing wonderful girlfriend).'
The understanding quiet that swarmed the hallway was deafening.
"So she was telling the truth..." Sasha spoke quietly, thumbing the tag gently.
Amity leaned forward and plucked the jersey out of Sasha's hands. With her arms exposed, she cut an intimidating figure, the muscles she had gained from training and practice obvious. The movement seemed to startle the blonde-haired girl as she looked up in alarm.
"Look. I'm sorry, but you don't understand. You couldn't. The situations she's caused and problems... You haven't known her as long as we-"
"I don't need to." Amity interrupted calmly, gently sliding the jersey back over her head. "In the amount of time I've known Luz she's nearly gotten me killed in a library, almost got my siblings eaten alive, nearly set us both on fire-"
"What kind of camp did you go to?!"
"-and almost terrorized an entire town with their worst fears." Amity finished, ignoring Sasha's question entirely. She held up a lazy hand gesturing to nothing. "And that's just the short list."
"Then... why?" Sasha asked after a short pause, her eyes lingering to a specific spot behind Amity's head where the jersey's tag would've been.
Amity laughed, a sharp and cold sound in the mostly quiet room. Sasha flinched, her back hitting the locker she was leaning against with a loud and hollow bang.
"You know the thing about you bullies, is that the one thing you never did was give Luz a chance. I almost didn't either. That was a mistake."
Sasha looked up curiously, a large range of emotions flashing through her eyes. The girl's submissive stance was familiar to Amity. Uncomfortably familiar. Flashbacks from her days of sullenly stalking around Hexside flashed in her head.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, Luz was always the one who got us out of each and every situation. She's always willing to help fix her mistakes." Amity stared at Sasha pointedly. "Always willing to look for the best in people."
The blonde haired girl in front of her hung her head.
"You threatened to call the cops on my girlfriend." Amity told her plainly.
Sasha didn't say anything, but instead sighed heavily and nodded. Her silence only irritated Amity more.
"You know I asked around. I've seen Luz deal with bullies before. I know it usually doesn't ever get to her. I know about Bryce, about the brute he is. But you were 'different'. You meant something else to Luz."
"I..." Sasha blinked, genuinely confused, "... what?"
"Tell me, since you've known her for sooo long. Have you ever seen Luz quiet?"
"Quiet?"
"Yeah. Quiet. Withdrawn. Sad." Amity listed, annoyed.
"No, she's... she's always been really out-going and kinda loud if I'm being honest. Even when everyone was so clearly annoyed with it, she didn't stop." Sasha admitted. Her face grew with a sad smile. "Nothing really got her down."
"Well it has now. You have." Amity said coldly.
The blonde girl's eyes widened, but the witch didn't let her say anything.
"Luz has faced a lot of things, none of them pretty, and still come out the same person as before. I've seen her do it. But the idea she had of you, the hope she had... you were different in her eyes." Amity explained shoving her hands deep into her pockets to prevent them from clenching into fists. A lump formed in her throat, the anger and empathy she felt balling tightly there and making it difficult to speak or breathe.
"But I see now you're just the same as the rest of them." Amity growled.
The sentence clearly had an immediate effect on Sasha who's eyes flashed in anger, she rose up to defend herself but Amity was already done. Her anger was quickly fading, leaving her body cold and numb. All she wanted was to go home. To go home to Luz. With a short decisive wave she cut off anything the other girl could've possibly said and took a step closer, purposefully drawing herself up to look as intimidating as possible.
Even if it couldn't stick with Bryce, she would make sure it stuck here. The last thing Luz needed was more of a reminder of just how badly the human world failed her.
"Leave my girlfriend alone. Tell all your friends that if they come near Luz again, they'll get to experience exactly why I'm the best defensive hockey player in the division."
Amity turned sharply, her footsteps filling in the silence left behind from the threat. She heard the door of the art class room open again after a pause and the teacher's kind voice drifted through the hallway.
"Sasha... you're crying. All you alright? Did something happen?"
Amity didn't stop as Sasha hesitantly answered. She refused to hear her excuses, her mind stuck in the past. Stuck to the night Amity found her girlfriend nearly freezing to death, staring up at nothing. The night she saw Luz's hope for something die.

Backstory: (Dis is loooooong) Before getting in his past, we first have to talk about his mother, Anne Larson or as her actual birth name Chenguang Shih. Chenguang was the daughter of the notoriously known unhinged pirate, Baozhai. Baozhai ended up having Chenguang completely by accident after she had a one night stand with one of her crewmates. She decided to keep the baby, wanting to start a long line of pirates like her. Baozhai had the baby girl just around when her torment was finally being taken seriously by the royals. Unfortunately, Baozhai ended up passing away on her boat when a cannon caused it to come crashing down. Luckily, Chenguang was safe as she had been taken by Baozhai's right hand man, Ironbeard with her. He did his best to care for the girl, holding up the legacy his captain would've wanted. Yet, he was a wanted criminal along with the other crewmates that survived the crash, so taking care of her was very difficult. But Ironbeard still pushed through.
Unfortunately, Ironbeard and the other were caught by a couple of guards and locked away. A judge sentenced them to be publicly executed by hanging the next. As for baby Chenguang, she was taken away and raised by the captain of the guards. Her full name being changed to Anne Larson just a few days later. When the day arrived for Ironbeard and the others be hung, the guards were surprise to see that they had escaped during the night. Ironbeard swore revenge for his captain and that he would one day return. As for the baby, he couldn't find her and gave up as the guards were on his tail. He regretted to not have fulfilled Baozhai's wish and those guards were going to pay for what they had done.
As for Anne, she was raised to never know of the events that took place. Her adoptive father, also known as Maxwell Larson, had told her of Baozhai and how she was a psychopathic murder that deserved what she got. So, Anne grew up hating Baozhai despite the fact she was actually hating her own biological mother. As she grew, Anne became educated and sophisticated. She quickly rose up to be one of the smartest students in her class. Getting all A's and being presented with awards for her achievements. Anne was asked to join a university of astronomy which she gladly accepted.
While she was attending, she ended up meeting a handsome young man by the name of Aaron Brown. Aaron was the typical bad boy that would rather get into trouble then be in class. He was charming, funny, and very attractive... Aaron easily charmed Anne which made her fall in love with him. Instead of focusing on her studies, she'd often daydream about him. Anne just couldn't get him out of her head. Eventually, Aaron asked her out and they went on a date. Which spiraled into several dates... Which turned into them dating each other. Anne would often ditch class just to be with him. This caused her to fail her class. Maxwell was angry at her for this. He demanded she'd retake the year and to leave Aaron. Anne was too far in love with him and didn't give into what he wanted.
Instead, Anne ended up dropping out of the university to further pursue her relationship with Aaron. They got married a few months afterwards and left their home planet. Anne decided to work as a weaver as Aaron became a marine. A year into their marriage, it all came crumbling down. Anne became severely depressed as she realized she gave up her dreams of becoming an astrologist. Aaron no longer found her attractive and began to pursuing other women behind her back. They argued a lot more than usual and it began to get physical. Finally the rose tinted glasses came off and they began to see how bad their relationship was. Anne wanted to save their marriage because she couldn't bare the thought being alone. Aaron still wanting the good things that came in a relationship while secretly having side pieces, decided to work with her on their marriage. The two came to a conclusion that having a child would be the best way to solve it.
Six months later, Jeremiah was born. Surprise, surprise, their relationship didn't get any better. Poor Jeremiah was now thrown into the picture of a broken marriage. Aaron became abusive towards Anne and didn't allow her to leave the house without his say. She'd get hurt if he didn't listen to what he said. Jeremiah wasn't safe from his abusive nature also. If the lad dared to bother him, he'd be met with a smack to the face. For five straight years had Anne and Jeremiah endured the abuse of Aaron. Anne finally decided to break from Aaron's abuse when something terrible happened to Jeremiah. One night during a drunken rage, Aaron put his hands on Jeremiah and tore out his left eye with a broken bottle. The event made Anne realize how horrible the situation was getting and it wasn't going to change unless he did something about it.
So during the night, she grabbed whatever she could carry and escaped with Jeremiah. Anne went back to her home planet where asked a place to stay with her adoptive father. Maxwell would've turned her away but when he saw the situation she was very distressed. He quickly let her in, where she explained what happened to her over the course of the years she's been gone for. Maxwell decided he would help her get back on her feet and get her son some needed medical attention. With his connections, Anne was able to earn a job as an assistant for an astrologist. She began to focus on her mental health which got better overtime. The same couldn't be said for Jeremiah. His worsened.
The abuse of his father caused major trauma in him that he wasn't able to get over. He became quiet, easily angered by others, and had thoughts about violence. Since he only had one eye now, he was bullied by the other kids once he was able to go to school. This aggravated him and he'd often get into fights because of it. Anne decided to pull him out of public school and into homeschool because things were getting out of hand. Jeremiah was taken to several doctors to see what was wrong with him. Each time, he refused to say anything. Anne stopped trying to help him since he was refusing to help himself. Yet, he was just a child. A child who wanted help but didn't know how to say it. Maxwell, decided to take over for trying to help him. Or what he thought would help him. He sent Jeremiah to a boot camp where he'd be straightened out for his bad behavior. Jeremiah loathed Maxwell for this and promised himself he'd get revenge. Life at the boot camp was utter hell. He was pushed to limits that caused him to have mental breakdowns in private. Jeremiah didn't have any friends. This caused him to be the target of the bullying of the other boys there. Throughout the torment, he was able to find comfort in the tales of well known pirates. His favorite being of the insane pirate captain Baozhai. Something about her unhinged, eccentric personality and her cruel brutality against others whenever the messed with her, manged put a smile on his face. (Baozhai in an old photo: *tearing someone's guts out.*
Jeremiah: 🙂)
At fourteen years old, Jeremiah made surprising a discovery that he was biological related to Baozhai. He had overheard Maxwell chatting with another guard about how he was glad Anne never grew up knowing that she was related to that maniac. Yet now that Jeremiah knew, he was angry that this knowledge was withheld from him. Why would they do such a thing? He tried telling his mother about this... His mother called him crazy... crazy... crazy...
That was the breaking point for Jeremiah. For a majority of his life, he was told that there was something wrong with him and that he needed help. Often being titled mentally ill or not alright in the head... Despite knowing he was, he was just tired of being treated like one.
Jeremiah ended up running away from his home planet by hiding on a cargo ship. He wanted to start somewhere fresh, where he wouldn't be as well known. He also wanted to know more about Baozhai, since most books didn't have enough information about her having a child, other than speculated rumors. For a while, he traveled around places, in search for more knowledge about his grandmother aka Baozhai. That's when he walked into a small tavern. He tried to figure out where else he could ask about her. An anonymous figure in the corner asked why he was wanted to learn about these things. Jeremiah, in the best way he could, explained that Baozhai was his grandmother. The tavern exploded into laughter after hearing him say that. They mocked him for a bit until the anonymous figure silenced the entire tavern by shooting a random person. They stood up and recounted the tale of Baozhai's fall. How she wanted the death of the upper class to continue. It was originally her plan to make a line of pirates to be like her. Then it was all ruined because of the guards. How he admitted that he failed because he wasn't careful enough... It was Ironbeard recounting all of this. He decided to continue with what she would've wanted... If Jeremiah wanted to join him. Jeremiah quickly took the deal, seeing as there was nothing holding him back now. On the outside, it didn't seem he was all too excited but on the inside, he was thrilled to finally be apart of something... And that he'd get to be just like his idol.
Likes: sharp objects, creepy bugs, reading, drawing, smoking cigars, and cats
Dislikes: his left eye, being told he's crazy, others trying to get close to him, physical affection (even though he sorta wants it), and long conversations
Other: Jeremiah doesn't like being called Jeremy or Jerry or literally any nickname to his name. If someone calls him "Jeremy" he would literally rip out their tonsils.

I am the Alpha Now Part 10
Bakugo X Reader
Words : 2559
Masterlist
Reader is from America and somewhat of a delinquent with an alpha quirk that allows her to turn into a wolf as well as bond with dogs. She is sent to UA to straighten out her attitude. She ends up in a power struggle with none other than our favorite hot head. Words in Italics are words said telepathically

*****************************************************************************************************
“Focus! Look him in eye and focus your thoughts towards him. Think in his direction.”
“What the fuck does that even mean? Think in his direction?! That makes no fucking sense!”
You and Bakugo had been working for almost an hour now to see if he could talk to Mercy. It was something you did almost every night right before you went to bed. He’s been slowly bonding with you over the course of the last week. The emotional thing you had down, much to his annoyance. Until now he had been very good at hiding his emotions, but that wasn’t even possible anymore.
Just this morning he had threatened to spank you if you didn’t get your ass out of bed. But just one peek into the bond and you could tell he didn’t mean it. In fact, you could feel his longing to join you. So instead of doing as he asked, you reached out and pulled him down to your level and begged him for ten more minutes.
He had groaned and rolled his eyes before wrapping a reluctant arm around you and pulling you to him. He wanted to be annoyed, but you could feel the love and comfort radiating from him. He wasn’t nearly as intimidating as you had once thought.
This brings you back to tonight. You sat there in one of his t-shirts laying between his legs with your head on his shoulder as he sat on the edge of the bed staring at Mercy. You could feel the determination quickly followed by disappointment. “Hey babe it’s okay, it’ll come. It took us a loooooong time before we could speak to each other.”
He threw his body back onto the bed in frustration, “Yeah, but you also had to basically teach him English from scratch.”
You shrugged, “It’ll come to you eventually. Just keep practicing. You’ve got the emotional and physical part down.”
The bond goes both ways… which means he felt the spike in your emotions when you said “physical” He sat up and his hand quickly found your hip, “Oh I know I got the physical part down… I know if I put my hand here…” He moved his hand closer to your inner thigh. “…you heart rate begins to pick up. But if I put it here…” He moved it cup your boob. “You start to melt into my hands like putty.” He kissed your neck as he moved to pinch one of your nipples between his fingers. Your back arched as you bit your lip, “But this…. This is the quickest way to make you lose your mind.”
You had started to reach for pants when he flipped you both over, so you were now on your stomach with him on your back. “It’s so much better when I can feel how excited you are. It’s like you were literally the missing puzzle piece from my life.” He leaned back to take his shirt off, “I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to you… or this bond.”
You wiggled your ass underneath him, “Awww are you saying I complete you?”
His only response to that was a quick slap to the ass, but you could feel his amusement through the bond. He started to slowly drag your underwear down when Mercy yelped, “PLEASE STOP!”
You groaned as you tapped out, letting Bakugo know you needed to get up.
Confused and a little concerned he let you up, “Shit I didn’t slap you that hard, did I? I didn’t feel any unusual pain in the bond?”
You put a hand on his chest to reassure him, “No it’s Mercy. We need to let him out if we’re going to you know… be physical.”
His eyes widened in understanding, “Oh shit... yeah… duh. Okay hold on I’ll let him out really quick.”
He walked across your room without a shirt on to let Mercy out while you remained sitting on the bed in nothing but one of his t-shirts. Right as he reached the door your wolf senses picked up footsteps outside in the hallway right outside your room, “Bakugo WA-“
He threw the door open before you could finish and was met with a characteristically bored looking Aizawa. You scrambled to cover yourself with a blanket “Hmmm I figured I’d find you here… It’s well past curfew…”
Bakugo bowed, “Yes sir, My apologies… it was my fault… uh you see…”
Aizawa just raised his hand to cut him off, “A quick reminder that Y/n is here on a probationary basis. She was sent here to straighten out her attitude and get her act together. Your job is supposed to be helping her get her life together…” He glanced at Bakugo’s shitless chest in front of him, “I can tell the two of you have become… close. But you only have a few months before graduation… then you can do whatever the hell you want. But until then, can you at least try to pretend to follow the rules.”
Bakugo nodded, “Yes sir, my apologies again sir. I was just about to take Mercy for a quick run if that is okay?”
Aizawa looked at Mercy was wagging his tail next to Bakugo, “Make it a leisurely walk and how about I join you… for safety reasons.”
Bakugo narrowed his eyes, “No offense sir, but I think I can handle a quick walk around campus by myself…”
Aizawa smiled, “I’m sure you could, but then how would we continue our conversation about rule breaking?”
Bakugo grunted as he grabbed the jacket he had left hanging by the door, “I’ll bring him right back y/n, get some sleep. Come on Mercy lets go.”
You just silently nodded as the door slammed behind him… “Shit…”
“Mercy, is it okay of I watch and listen to their conversation though you?”
“UGH! But I actually wanted to run!”
You rolled your eyes even though no one was around to see it, “Oh don’t lie. I know you’re just as nosy as I am!”
“And your point?”
“My point is I’ll run with you tomorrow AND I’ll make Bakugo cook you a giant steak for dinner…”
“DEAL!”
You tuned into Mercy senses and saw Aizawa and Bakugo walking right in front of you or rather right in front of Mercy.
“Bakugo I need you to understand something. When I say I can see you two getting close, I mean that quite literally. My quirk allows me to see and turn off other quirks. When I see you two especially when you are close, I can see this weird aura. It used to just be y/n and Mercy, but it’s now consumed you too.” He stopped to see the tips of Bakugo’s ear turning pink, “Now I’m no idiot. I think I’ve put two and two together. It has something to do with her alpha quirk doesn’t it?”
Bakugo rubbed the back of his neck, “Yeah… It’s hard to explain though. I just… clicked with her or something and now I’m a part of her pack. Me her and Mercy.” He glanced down and gave Mercy a pat on the head.
Aizawa nodded, “I have to admit I think it has had an impact on you both and probably for the better. You give her structure and dedication. She gives you empathy and compassion. It’s evident you are good for each other… I just need you to be careful.”
Bakugo narrowed his eyes, “Careful? Careful of what?”
Aizawa sighed as he stopped walking, “I just worry you might grow too attached to her, but I’m now beginning to think you already have.”
“Tch, what’s that supposed to mean? I obviously love her, why would getting attached to her be a bad thing? You just said we were good for each other?”
“Well she is from America and you live here. Have you discussed what you want to do after graduation? Will she move here? Will you move there? Will you… part ways?”
Mercy whined at the thought of the new member of his pack leaving them. You felt your heart break a little at the thought as well.
Bakugo leaned down and got on Mercy’s level. “Hey now stop crying, that’s not going to happen.” He kissed Mercy’s forehead and whispered, “I told you to go to bed…”
He must have felt your panic and knew you were listening. “We haven’t talked about it yet… but with all due respect that’s a conversation that will be between us. That’s our private life you know?”
Aizawa nodded and ran his hand through his hair, “I understand but please just try to be careful. I see how attached you already. It’s like you’re addicted to her presence, to her happiness. I can see that you get visibly uncomfortable when she’s not close by and I fear the day you might… well for lack of a better words… go through withdrawal. It’s like she’s a drug to you.”
Bakugo tensed up, “Look… like I said before it’s our private life…but…” He took a look at Mercy, probably debating saying anything knowing that I was listening. “I do feel this pull to her. She is quite literally the center of my universe… but you know what. I don’t care. She’ll be the first to tell you who wears the pants in the relationship… and that’s neither of us. We have a deep respect for each other. We listen, we care, we communicate. I take care of her just as much as she takes care of me. She might have an alpha quirk, but I’m not her bitch.”
Aizawa’s eyes widened, “Bakugo you misunderstand me. I didn’t mean to insinuate that she was controlling you, I just didn’t want to see you guys get hurt.”
Bakugo was starting to get mad now, “Well we’re not! Okay! I can’t explain it, but this connection we have… it’s permanent. It’s not going anywhere!”
Aizawa almost looked sad, “Okay… but how do you know?”
You could feel your anger (or possibly Bakugo’s) boiling over and you just wanted to hit something. “BECAUSE WE FUCKING DO! FUCK OFF!”
Bakugo snorted and then bit his lip. He looked to Mercy, “Your mother has a potty mouth.” He looked at a confused Aizawa and without explaining himself at all he turned to head back to the dorms, “Come on Mercy, you know y/n can’t sleep without you, and she seems a little restless right now.”
Aizawa called out after him, “Last night I’m allowing you to get away with this, next time it’s detention do you understand?”
“Yeah, yeah whatever… like you said it’s only for a few more months anyways. We’ll survive.”
You could hear Bakugo’s footsteps approaching the door and you tried to pretend like you had been asleep.
“OI! Don’t even fucking try. I know you were listening the entire time. Not only could I feel you, but I fucking heard you! How did you do that! It was so fucking weird, it’s like I could hear you, but your voice was a little different. It had more of an echo or something and… oi are you even listening?” He threw a pillow at your still “sleeping” figure.
You fake yawned and stretched, “Oh hi Bakugo. Back from your walk already?”
He tackled you to the bed, “You’re such a brat!”
You giggled as you kissed his cheek, “Ah yes, but I’m your brat.”
He settled into bed next to you and kissed your forehead, “How I got stuck with you I have no idea.” He ran his fingers through your hair, “But I’m glad I did… now can we please talk about earlier?”
You sighed, “About what in particular?”
“Well for one I know you were listening. Your emotions were all over the place…”
You shrugged, “I was watching Gilmoe Girls… gets me every time.”
He swatted at your ass, “Come on pup be serious. I really want to talk about it. Do you have plans after graduation?”
You snuggled deeper into him, “I mean not really… I had thought I’d go back to America and get a job there doing private security.”
“You could always do that here instead though. There’s tons of jobs here especially for graduates of UA.”
You bit your lip, “I don’t know. I mean going to school here is hard enough. I still feel like my Japanese sucks, and you already know English…”
“Your Japanese gets better every day! I can practice with you more if you think it’ll help!”
“I just... I don’t know right this moment. And that’s okay right? I mean we have a few months, right?”
He ran a hand through his hair, “Yeah I guess... but y/n, I need you to know. I can’t see myself leaving Japan. My only goal for the past few years has been to be Japans number one hero. It would be kind of hard to do that from America.”
Your eyes lit up, “Talk to All Might! He did a few years in America and he became the number one hero! Just ask him about it!”
He could feel how worked up you were getting so he gave your forehead another kiss, “Okay, okay, I’ll talk to him… on to the next thing… I heard you in my head… how?”
You shook your head, “I honestly don’t know. I said it like I would normally talk to Mercy, but I didn’t direct it at Mercy. I was surprised you heard it. I was also extra emotional though.”
“Tch. I heard it alright. If I wasn’t so caught off guard, I would have laughed my ass off.”
“Do you think he meant it when he said tonight was the last night you could sleep here? I don’t want to sleep alone.”
“WHAT AM I CHOPPED LIVER!” Mercy was now in the bed trying to get in between you two.
“Oi! I Herd that! Mercy say something else!”
“Something else!”
“Just as sassy as I thought you’d be, but I kind of imagined you’re voice to be… I don’t know softer. You actually sound kind of like a boss.”
“Yes, that would be because I am a boss. You may be in this pack now but respect the food chain asshole!”
Bakugo looked at you, “You gonna let him talk to me that way?”
You just shrugged, “I mean he has a point. He was here first.”
He pushed Mercy out of the way and bearhugged you, “No, no, no, no, we agreed at the tea shop! I am the alpha now remember?”
You rolled your eyes and shook your head, “Whatever helps you sleep at night babe.”
Mercy started growling from where Bakugo had pushed him, “I’ll help you sleep alright, by putting you in a coma! HOW DARE YOU PUSH ME OUT OF MY OWN BED!”
The rest of the night was filled with wrestling and your boys fighting and joking. Despite his attitude you could tell Mercy was ecstatic to have a new friend to talk to. You watched as they rolled around on the floor and your heart swelled with love. Bakugo paused for and looked over to you when he felt it. He made eye contact and with all his will power he managed to say “I love you too…”

So Disney. The topic of the day, the month, the year, the decade. I've seen a few posts recently talking about Disney's current power and how it relates to the past and the future of the entire film industry, and i figured that i, as a person with a masters degree on the subject, could throw my two cents into the conversation, so here goes.
Everyone has probably seen that post with the graph of everything Disney owns. Disney is not a studio, it's a global media conglomerate. (Quick google tells me it is third in the world after AT&T and Facebook but i'm not gonna start fact checking trivia rn.)
Many of y'all might have also seen posts talking about the Hollywood Studio System, owning actors and how Disney is now in a position where old studios were in the Hollywood Studio System. So let's see what happened to the Hollywood Studio System that started building as soon as sound came into film.
In 1938 the Justice Department in the United States initiated a suit usually called the "Paramount case". The government accused the Big Five (also known as Majors, and they were Paramount, Warner Bros., Loew's/MGM, 20th Century Fox and RKO) and the Little Three (Universal, Columbia and United Artists) of violating antitrust laws by colluding to monopolise the film business. By the way, this had been going on since 1912. Studios had been expanding to create an ogliopoly since 1912.
What the Big Five and the Little Three had been doing all this time was this:
The Big Five were vertically integrated - meaning they made their films, they distributed their films, and they showed them in theatre chains they owned. The Little Three had their films fill out any free time in the theatres owned by the Big Five. These firms would also buy out the screen times from theatres they did not own, essentially block-booking the entire schedule of a cinema to show their films only. This system naturally made it very difficult if not impossible for independent creators and studios to enter the industry at all.
A decision in the suit, called the Paramount decision was given in 1948 (yes it took 10 years), declaring that the eight companies had been guilty of monopolistic practices. The Court ordered the Major studios to divest themselves of their theatre chains. They were no longer allowed to own every single step of the way from development to the screens. They were also made to stop block-booking other cinemas. The Big Five remained production-distribution companies but sold their theatres.
So what about these studios "owning actors"? Well, in the early years of Hollywood studios, somewhat even before sound in film but definitely after, they would have to churn out films at an incredible speed. Cinemas would always be playing something: film was supposed to be a highly accessible form of entertainment. Just walk in, pay a small fee and watch a movie. Kinda like we would now just put on an episode of a show while having lunch.
So, it made sense for studios to have actors, directors, writers, editors etc etc all on contract with the studio, because they were making new films day and night. One production ends, there's another one lined up. They would also get big stars under lucrative contracts to keep them appearing in the studio's films.
Now what would have been the other option for these actors, directors, writers etc.? The studios had the industry cornered. You want to make your own movies? Well tough shit, nobody will ever see it because the Majors block-booked all the cinemas in Los Angeles. A contract with a studio was relatively secure work and income, but it also meant doing what the studio tells you to.
Soooo does any of the above ring a bell yet? Disney Studios is a production-distribution studio and has been for a loooooong time, that is nothing new. But through conglomerating and vertically integrating, Disney also essentially owns it's own screens. Covid has been the luckiest thing that has happened to them in years, because they have been able to pull so much of their content into their own exclusive services and no-one has batted an eye. Oh and Disney doesn't just own Disney+, Disney owns ABC Entertainment (and ABC News) and their channels, Hulu, FX and National Geographic. They can't own cinemas, but in the year of our lord 2021, they evidently don't have to.
Btw, ever noticed how Disney Channel seems to have it's own actors, ABC too, even The CW seems to run the same cast through several shows....? Yeah, see the bit about the contracts again. It's steady work for the cast and crew, and companies like Disney make sure their darlings don't 1) do any un-disneylike content or 2) make money for the competition. Disney of course is contracting cinema actors too, because they are doing franchises. Every MCU actor will sign a contract for say 9 movies and my educated guess is that those are preceding contracts. Meaning your contract with Disney comes first, when you're negotiating other work. Nothing unusual about a preceding contract in the film and television industry, that's how they keep TV casts. But yeah, Disney can and will keep you on a 9 movie contract for well over a decade.
Disney is by no means the only one btw. But they are the most obvious one and the most in your face one. Bc they own so. much. of the content that gets produced these days, and because their megalomania has lead to some pretty public fails too. You think John Boyega wouldn't have left Star Wars if he could have?
But, going back to Disney owning so many channels and services. You might say that this is nothing new! Film studios have been making television content for decades! And you're right. The contract between Disney and ABC was made in 1954. See, television was a major threat to the film industry, because people didn't want to leave their homes anymore, not when they had a fancy new moving picture box right in their living room. So what did the studios do? Well they started making content for television, which needed a lot of it to fill the hours of the day. Films could be sold to TV broadcasters and contracts for new content were made. Disney did extra good job on this by the way, making their tv content carefully promote the periodical theatrically exclusive rereleases of the Walt Disney classics. (Yes, Disney has always been rereleasing their movies. The Lion King and all the other live action remakes are nothing new. It's one of their oldest tricks.)
At the same time, studios had to come up with ways to get people to actually come see their theatrical releases, so they began closer targeting of specific segments of the population. In the 1950's, Disney excelled in films aimed at children.
After the Paramount decision studios could no longer block-book and essentially make filler movies to support their main movies. As years went by, people were also less and less willing to buy tickets to any old crap. What they were willing to pay for was big movie events, something special, something exclusive to the big screen. This is when budgets started to grow. No more B films meant more money for A films. They also revived the silent era marketing tactic called the roadshow, making movies that played in only one theatre per market with limited screenings. Roadshows were usually based on Broadway shows and bestsellers.
Sound familiar again? Yeeeeesss, you're right, it does sound an awful lot like today's MCU blockbuster fever. Yeeesss it does sound like todays studios are fighting streaming services like Netflix (which has grown to be its own kind of monster but that's a different post) exactly the same way they fought television. 1) make their own stream content and 2) every new Marvel, Star Wars etc. has to be The Movie of The Year. The one everyone is talking about. The biggest, the flashiest, the highest grossing movie of all time. An Event. Disney of course has pulled the same trick they pulled in the 1950's by linking their small screen and big screen content together! And they don't even need to block-book a cinema. They'll just make enough content through every company they own and put them out at the same time. Oh and distribute films made by other studios, to snatch that distributing fee.
So, what now, you ask. When does this end. And honestly i'm afraid it won't end until someone just stops Disney. Again, we've all probably heard about the way they're buying studios and burying their projects or even shutting them down, like Blue Sky. Disney is currently an actual threat to independent creators and studios, just like the Majors were during the Studio System. The question is does anyone care if the film industry is monopolised once again, at least anyone who has the power to stop it. We'll see. As much as i dislike Scarlett Johanssen, her court case and public feud is a good start.
(I did fact check using my film history books, but if i got anything wrong about contracts etc., corrections are welcome, i typed this out on my phone in one go and tried to keep it readable shdafjsakl.)

BLOODRIGHT - Vampire Taekwoon AU - Chapter 9
Hi everybody~~!!! I have a loooooong vampire taekwoon chapter!! I hope that’s okay~ 😉 this chapter includes the very first thing I wrote for vampire taekwoon before I even decided on a full fic (the actual bite part)
So, I hope you enjoy and please, please let me know what you think!!! I thrive on your comments! ❤❤
🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️🧛‍♂️
<br?
Taekwoon went completely still and you honestly half expected him to just sink his teeth into your neck with no warning. After a few seconds and still nothing, you slowly turned your head towards his. He was just staring at you.
“T-Taekwoon? Did you hear what I said?”
“I did.” His voice was so quiet you had to strain your ears to hear him.
“And? Was I……was I not supposed to say it like that? Or is it too late?”
“No, it’s not too late. In all honesty, I thought it would take a lot longer….or even not at all. Are you sure? What made you decide?”
“I don’t know. I just…..” Your voice was becoming quieter and quieter. “I just like being here and …..with you.”
“Turn around, y/n.”
You hesitated so he placed his hands on your shoulders and gently turned you to face him. He didn’t move away and he returned his hands to the counter, caging you in again.
“Now, say that again.”
“Taekwoon….it was hard enough to say once. I know for a fact that you can hear the slightest whisper.” You toyed with your hands in front of you, creating a barrier so his body couldn’t get closer. Of course, he could easily overpower you and do what he wanted but he never did.
“Come on, just one more time.”
Knowing he wouldn’t give up you took another deep breath. You looked up at his still swirling crimson eyes.
“I said I want to be your donor and that I like being here in this house and with you. Okay?”
He jerked forward and wrapped his arms around you. His head leaned towards you and you braced yourself for his teeth to pierce you skin. You waited for the pain.
And waited.
You eventually realized that he was just hugging you. You were confused. He wasn’t going to bite you? You jumped when you finally heard his voice again.
“Thank you.”
Before you could stop yourself you laughed. Taekwoon loosened his hold on you and leaned back.
“Why are you laughing?”
“I’m sorry, I was just surprised. When you came towards me, I expected you to just bite me because I had accepted. I didn’t think you would just say ‘thank you’.”
“Y/N, even though you just agreed to be my donor I’m still going to ask if I can feed from you. I’m not going to just suddenly bite you.”
“Oh.”
“Did you want me to?”
“No! I just….. I don’t know….I’m just really confused. I don’t know how it works.” Pink dusted your cheeks and you put your head down to hide it. Taekwoon crooked his finger under your chin and lifted your head back up. You looked up and saw his serious expression.
“It works how you want it to work. Just because you accepted, it doesn’t give me the right to own you. You tell me.”
He didn’t move away and you were actually thankful. You felt better when he was close.
“H-How often….” You had no idea how often he drank. You knew it wasn’t everyday but that was it.
“The blood that I get from the shelters will sustain me for about two days.” Your heart lurched when you tried to wrap your mind around being bitten every couple of days.
“Two days?”
“Yes, but your blood is a bit…..richer” His head lowered a bit until his lips were close to your ear. “and sweet. It should last for about a week. Maybe even a week and a half.
You nodded your head. A week to a week and a half. You had a million other questions running through your head.
"Y/N? That doesn’t mean you have to do it every week. If you need a break or something, I can use the blood from the shelter as a back up.”
You couldn’t take it anymore. Your head fell to his chest and you sighed.
“Y/N? Are you alright? It’s okay. You can change your mind. You don’t have to accept.” You felt his hand on the back of your head in a gentle caress. You moved your head back and forth.
“It’s not that. I just don’t understand you. Any other vampire would be tearing into my neck.”
“But it’s such a pretty neck, why would I do that?” You felt his nose lightly touch your neck and goosebumps appeared over your skin. You tried to leVe due to the embarrassment but he stopped you. Suddenly, he grabbed your waist and hoisted you up onto the counter. You let out a short scream at the abruptness of his movements. He grinned at your reaction.
“Why do you always think the worst of me?”
“It’s not intentional. I grew up hearing all these horror stories about vampires. Everyone I came across had several stories about someone they knew that were ripped from the streets and attacked or they unknowingly allowed a vampire into their home and was gruesomely killed. It’s all I’ve ever heard, I can’t help it.”
“I would love to be able to say that those stories are all lies, but that would actually be a lie. There are countless vampires out there that have no regard for human life. You saw how Khan acted.”
You nodded, remembering all too well the fear that Khan had set in your heart.
“I know that. And I know you aren’t like them. I am definitely grateful for that. I don’t even want to to imagine what my life would have been like if I had been Khan’s potential donor.”
“He wont touch you again. And now that you have accepted, he wont be able to bite you again.” His fingers grazed over the now almost healed puncture wounds. His hand lingered over your skin but he stopped suddenly and lowered his arm. He lifted you off the counter and put the container of grapes in your hand. “Eat these and then get some more sleep and we can go over the official stuff later.”
He left you in the kitchen after grabbing his glass quickly. You took the grapes to your room, finished them, and then drifted off to sleep still able to feel his fingers on your skin.
The next morning, you found Taekwoon in the back yard just lying on the grass. You cocked your head to the side, amused by the fact that a vampire was lying around in his back yard, sunbathing.
“Good morning, y/n.” You jumped at his voice.
“Good morning.” You walked until your feet were only a few inches from his head. “What exactly are you doing?”
“Just……lying around. I was waiting around for you to wake up but then I ended up out here.” In a split second, he was on his feet and standing in from of you.
“I’m sorry. You could have woken me.”
“No, I wanted you to sleep. I don’t really sleep so I’m used to waiting. Come on.”
You followed him back into the house where he forced you to eat breakfast even though you told him you could eat later. Simple conversation turned to the topic of the 'official business’ he’d talked about last night.
“There is a contract of sorts. It solidifies my allowance to have you as my donor.”
“That’s fine. I don’t mind signing something like that.” Your breath hitched in your throat at his facial expression.
“It’s not exactly something that you sign.”
He indicated for you to follow him to the study and he went to his ornate wooden cabinet and brought out a long, thin box. It was beautifully decorated in scrollwork on the outside over the rich wood it was made from. He sat the case down on the desk and opened it. In the box was a rolled up piece of parchment. He unrolled the paper and you saw only two short paragraphs on the parchment. At the bottom were two boxes. That was it.
“I was given this when they officially told me your name and whereabouts. It’s a donor contract. If the donor accepts then this is the next step. This gives me official permission to bite you and you wont die within thirty days after I do.”
It finally made sense what he was talking about. He’d said that if Khan had just bitten you without permission, you would die in thirty days if you didn’t accept. This piece of paper would ensure that you wouldn’t die.
“I understand. So what do I do if I’m not supposed to sign it?”
He reached forward and took your hand. He pulled you a bit closer and kissed your hand.
“You don’t sign this paper with ink. You have to use blood. Mine and yours.”
“H-How exactly?”
“I would prick my finger and just put it in the left box there. Then you would do the same with yours but in the right box.”
Well, that didn’t seem so bad. It was just a finger prick like at the doctor’s office, right? You nodded your head and indicated he could continue. You looked around on the desk and in the box to see if there was something to use. He grabbed your hand took your index finger. You watched as he slowly brought it to his mouth. He kept his eyes locked on yours as he bowed his head and bit down on your finger. You winced slightly in pain but it was fleeting. He took your finger and pressed it into the parchment. He quickly followed suit with his own finger and you stared as the paper shimmered a bit and absorbed the blood into the parchment. Taekwoon rolled the paper again and placed it back inside the box.
You still hand your hand held out in front of you and the blood was pooling and threatened to roll down your finger. You started to turn to find the first aid kit for a band-aid but Taekwoon stopped you. He took your hand again and placed his lips over your finger. Your body instantly heated when you felt his tongue swipe over your finger. He closed his eyes in what looked like pure bliss. He didn’t release your hand yet but you looked at it to see the hole was closed entirely. His hand tightened on yours and he brought you closer.
“My god, you taste good.” He lowered his head to your shoulder and chuckled. “I regret feeding last night. I want more.”
You didn’t know how to respond. Now that the contract was finished, he could bite you and you wouldn’t die. But he drank last night and was pouting. You laughed a bit at his actions. He pulled away from your shoulder and narrowed his eyes at you.
“What are you laughing at?”
“You.”
“Me? Why?”
“I didn’t think I would ever see a vampire pout.” He looked genuinely embarrassed and released you.
“I’m not pouting.” He released you, put the box back in to his cupboard, and walked out of the study.
You had to stifle your laughter, knowing he would hear you. He had definitely been pouting but didn’t want to admit it. You took a look at the finger he had so easily pierced with his teeth. Those things were razor sharp and dangerous. So, why didn’t you feel afraid?
You spent the rest of the day cleaning the house while the big, bad vampire sulked in his room. You ate by yourself and walked around the garden by yourself. Although at one point, you looked back at the house and could have sworn that you’d seen a figure with silver hair watching you. If felt good to know that he hadn’t completely abandoned you. But you still missed his company.
Once night fell, you were pacing in your room, trying to think of a way to make Taekwoon feel better. You finally showered and dressed in the most comfortable outfit you could find. You settled on pajama pants and a simple strappy tank top. If he was going to bite you, you figured it would be better to get the first time out of the way. He said he’s already fed but a whole day had passed so maybe he could feed again. You were nervous, sure, but you wanted Taekwoon to be near you again.
Now you just had to figure out a way to find him. You’d looked for him several times earlier in the day. But, he always evaded you. You needed him to come to you. An idea popped in your head but you were sure he would disapprove. You opened your bedroom door and backed away from it, knowing he would burst through it.
Taking a deep breath, you screamed as loud as you could. Sure enough, a blurred figure rushed through your room and stopped right in front of you.
“What is it?!”
“Huh? Oh…uh….I thought I saw a shadow or something.” In all your quick planning, you forgot to come up with a reason you screamed.
“A shadow?” He zoomed around the room, looking in the closet, the bathroom, and even out the window. “I don’t see anything.”
“It was probably just my mind playing tricks on me or something.” You walked closer to him and placed a hand on his arm. He jerked slightly and looked down at your hand. Then, his eyes traveled to the rest of you. When you looked up at him, his eyes were trained on your neck.
“Thanks for coming and checking though. I thought that maybe you were going to avoid me for the rest of my time here.”
His eyes narrowed and then his face softened.
“Is that why you screamed at nothing? To get me in here?”
“B-but, I saw a shadow.” His gaze was making your resolve crack.
“I told you before, nothing can pass the fence around this place. Only family could before but I changed that after Khan attacked. Nothing is getting in here.”
“But…..it could have been a….bird or something.”
“Hmm. maybe. If that’s what you want to claim.”
“But I–” Your protest was cut short when he hugged you.
“I’m sorry I ignored you all day. I’m not mad or embarrased or anything.” His head buried itself into your neck. “I figured if I took some distance I wouldn’t feel the urge to bite you.”
“But isn’t that what you were supposed to do? I accepted and signed the contact.”
“But I still wanted to give you some time. I just drank yesterday so I don’t really need to but you…”
“You can if you want to Taekwoon.” Your voice was quiet and his arms tightened around you. He raised his head and looked at you. You smiled and nodded, letting him know that you were okay.
His arm wrapped fully around your waist, pulling you until you were fully arched into him. He lowered his head to the exposed skin just above your breasts. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears, anticipating his next move. He placed a kiss just above your heart, as if to acknowledge that he heard it loud and clear. His lips ghosted up along your collarbone until he reached the pulse on your neck. His grip tightened on your waist, desperately wanting to sink his teeth in. You could feel his lips hovering there.
“Relax, y/n, I promise it will only hurt for a second.”
You tried to force your body to relax but he was so close and it was making your brain fuzzy. It wasn’t just the thought of him biting you. Somewhere in the time you had known him you were certain now that you had some type of feelings for him. You wanted to stay with him. You wanted to make him smile and have conversations with him. You wanted to ask him questions about history. You wanted a lot of things. But right now, you needed to deal with what he wanted. And that was you.
You took a deep breath as he placed a kiss on your neck. A small reassurance that he didn’t want you to be scared.
“Do you accept?” You struggled to find your voice as his question reached your ears.
“Y-yes, I accept.”
Without hesitation, his teeth sank into your skin, a sharp pain causing you to cry out slightly. The pain subsided quickly, replaced with an odd euphoria that had you grasping at him. Pleasure shot through your body like a bullet as you gasped. He pulled your body tighter against his and you could feel every single part of his body that came in contact with yours. You felt your back hit the bed gently as he followed your body down. He continued to pull blood into his mouth and your mind was getting hazier by the second.
“Taekwoon…” You gathered your strength to weakly hit his shoulder to try to get him to stop but he grabbed your wrist and pinned it to the bed. Your eyes were getting heavy and your body felt like stone. Panic set in and you squirmed helplessly beneath him. Thankfully, you felt his teeth pull away from your neck and he ran his tongue slowly across the wounds to seal them.
You tried to speak but you didn’t have the strength. He raised his body off of you slightly and looked at you. Your vision was blurry but you could definitely make out the bright red irises staring back at you. You struggled to keep your eyes open, afraid that they would close for good.
“Its alright, love. You can sleep. I didn’t take enough for you to be in danger but you’ll be tired for a day or two. You’ll have everything you need here when you wake up.” He gathered you in his arms and placed you in the bed properly. You began to drift off as you felt a blanket cover your now too cold body. You reached for his arm, wrapping your hand around his wrist.
“Want me to stay?” You nodded weakly and he sat on the bed beside you. His fingers brushed the hair from your face but you were still afraid to close your eyes. “Sleep. I promise you will wake again.”
He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips. You were too drained to respond but it succeeded in making you close your eyes. You fell asleep a second later.
