So hello hello good evening Budapest. I'm finally home, it's midnight and and and I had the best time of my life!
Many many highlights of the soundcheck and the show:
My question for soundcheck was picked fiiiirst? Hello??? It was absolutely crazy!
The VIP rep, Athena was an absolut angel, big shout out to her! I had a good talk with her after soundcheck and she was he sweetest.
The guys played Long Way Home and Out Of My Limit.
Before questions the VIP rep asked our names and I told her she can say Angie insted of my Hungarian name.
So she did introduce me "someone who her friends know as Angie", and Michael was like: "and what do people call you who you do not consider as friends?" So I had to tell him that basically anyone before age 15 knows me as my real name, and after that, when I started using the internet and didn't like my name I picked up Angie. So he said, okay, Angie.
My question was: what arw you bringing home from tour (souvenir, memory, feeling).
Ash said his mom always asks for fridge magnets and was like "fuck, Mom, no, it would need its own suitcase" and he said he likes travelling light
Luke said a qeak immune system and he stoles keycards from the hotels he sþays in and has tons
Michael said he gets lot of baby clothes and didn't know how much stuff a baby needs
Calum said he has really good memories of this tour
At thw beginning they also was talking about Buda and Pest, as mentioned by Ash in the IG story.
Other questions were about:
How they choose what they wear. Ash and Luke said they try bot to clash with the others and look ridiculous. They basically go by what Cal chooses, becauee Michael goes by him, and then the rest tries not to clash with them. Look also mentioned whatever he can paid up that he didn't do previously, and how he feels that day.
They asked about the Flatline chorus and Luke did listen to the song on his phone to figure it out... but I'm still not sure as they were also unsure lol.
They asked about the RAH orchestra and how it was a bit hard working with them because they only stayed until their time was up, and they are speaking different musical languages.
And lastly they asked about how they feel when they release a really emotional, personal song and if it's hard to do. They said of course, and how everyone has their own interpretation on songs, and sometimes it's best not to know the original thought and have your own on them.
There was also a fly trying to get into Luke's tea and Ashton kinda looked scared of it because he stood up.and took two steps backwards.
Both Charlotte Sands and AR/CO were amazing.
I was on Michael's side, 2nd row.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ashton was wearing those silly ass chekered sunglasses for like half the show lol. But he has the biggest biceps in the world oh god.
They were cuteeeee. Michael was so precious. So happy.
We got Wrapped Around Your Finger.
They guys enjoyed Budapest, and said it was a special show because it'a in the last 3 for a long time now.
Also, there was a point where Ash said something about Calum abd I was like... boyfriends.
Michael couldn't sing Best Friends because Luke was being silly and they just started histerically laughing.
Michael remembered and made a joke about last year's KFC thing and someone had a fake/plush KFC bucket hat on and they were making fun of that.
He ended up wearing it for the beginning of Outer Space.
Tumblr media
(Terrible photo, sorry. Didn't take much pics.)
Saw Ash at the very end on my side and he is beautiful and smiley. I love him. 🩷🫶

So You Didn’t Hit Your Word Count… Did You Have Fun?
Tumblr media
Sometimes we don’t reach our word count goal. And that’s okay! Longtime NaNo participant Michael Chatfield has a few words of advice on how the most important part of writing is the journey itself. There’s a regular responses to missing your word count— “I’ll just increase how much I write tomorrow, I’ll spread it over the remaining days!”
If that works for you— go for it!
If that doesn’t and you’re starting to beat yourself up about not hitting those numerical milestones and your obstacles are starting to look like blockades, this might be for you. My limited nuggets of wisdom I can give you on the all fearing word count.
I’m going to talk a little about passion, some about joy and a lot about how while numbers are great— they are not the be all-end all of writing. Showing up, getting lost inyour world, exploring it everyday and putting in the time is the win. Sometimes that results in words, we hope, but sometimes that means we don’t hit the numbers we want to.
Many times when we don’t hit that all important word count, there comes a sinking feeling. You may say to yourself something like — “I’m slipping”, “I’m behind”, “It’s going to be so hard to catch up”, “I’m failing!”. These are all a variation of “I didn’t get x words today so I’m losing”.
Woah— wait, you’re losing? You’re falling behind? Let me steal some words and heavily paraphrase what I heard fellow writer Elana Johnson say. Writing is like climbing a mountain, we’re each going up it on our own path in our own way. When we take a pause we feel like we’re slipping down the mountain. That’s just plain ridiculous, you climbed up to this point.
You’re HERE!
Take a look around. Your love for an idea, for a group of characters has led to this point. Draw from the excitement, that passion that got you here.
Get excited by that next scene that’s bursting to come forward, that next juicy tidbit you see ahead that opens a pit in your stomach, or fills it with butterflies!
Are you chasing numbers, or are you chasing those feelings, those scenes and parts that send a thrill through your mind and out into the world?
Ground yourself in where you are, just like a trek up a mountain, rarely do you do it in one damn bound.
You walk, take a break, take in the view, study the path behind, the path ahead. Maybe you want to be at a higher place than where you are right now.
Okay, totally fine, hell maybe you want to charge all the way up to that next lookout perch. Or maybe you didn’t move at all, you just took in the view.
That’s totally fine too, you didn’t start falling off it (base jumping is a whole different exercise).
Here’s a couple of thoughts/rut busters to think of:
If you’re stuck on something you need to do but having such a damn hell of a time doing it: Write a note. Dump all the information you have on this part. Now move onto the next thing after this.
When you have momentum use it, when you start seeing a scene coming together, start writing on it.
Write how you want to write. Some go from beginning to end, some write in chunks and fill it in, some use pen, keyboard or speech. Others hangout with friends, discuss a topic and write it all down. How do you want to record your stories? Do that. If you don’t know, then explore! Try out the most romantically writerly things you can think of like writing in calligraphy, on a typewriter, or with a cup of something. Picture how you think an author writes, try it out.
Writing your thoughts out can be a great help and allow you to go from writing out where the story is going to putting down the words that will get it there. Give thinking and thoughts space too. We often think it a waste of time or “doing nothing”.
I heard this from Neil Gaiman first and several other writers since. When writing, I can write or do nothing. Give writing the time it deserves and fully devote yourself to enjoying that time. Sometimes doing nothing is amazing. It’s known to cause thinking and boredom, which has been linked to increased creativity and energy.
You decide if you win or lose. If you show up, write, think, and be bored, you’ll honestly be surprised with the results. You win by living in your passion, you win by having fun. Don’t try to define failure, recognize when you’re having fun instead.
After all, writing is the author’s adventure.
Have fun, Michael Chatfield (Like all advice, it is only as useful as you find it. If this doesn’t gel with you, don’t worry, this wasn’t for you, there might be other advice that helps! Writing is your journey, find the information that works for you.)
Tumblr media
Michael Chatfield is an international bestseller who likes to create character-driven stories set in fact-paced worlds. His main genres are Fantasy, Science Fiction, and LitRPG, but he enjoys adding enough realism to make the stories leap off the page. His book, Connection Unknown, can be found here.

Glee tag game
I was tagged by @annepi-blog, thank you!
1. Favourite season 1 episode: Okay, so the obvious answer is Laryngitis because it's one of the absolutely best Kurt episodes in the whole show. But I also fucking hate everything about Rachel's storyline but Rose's Turn alone does kind of give it the leg up to still be the best episode anyway.
2. Favourite season 2 episode: Oh I've got so many contenders for this one. I love Furt and the relationships we get to see between Burt and Kurt and Kurt and Finn. But then Never Been Kissed is just a classic with it being Blaine's first episode and Chris' acting in it is just so so incredible. Blame It On The Alcohol would be a higher contender because I love drunk Blaine and I actually really enjoy Finn in that episode, which isn't something that happens a lot for me until season 4, but the writer's biphobia that they push onto Kurt really ruins it. But I think the actual winner would have to be Prom Queen. I love Kurt in that episode and I love it being the first time we start to see that Blaine's not perfect, that he's a little broken, a little fragile. It's underutilized, but it really sets up so much of what makes Blaine my favorite character to write.
3. Favourite season 3 episode: Okay, we all know it's Michael. Like of course The First Time, On My Way, and Dance With Somebody are all great episodes that I really love. But Michael is the episode I rewatch the most. And part of my love for it is, a) the cut Want You Back scene, and b) believing Seblaine to be genuine, very close friends which makes the slushee incident so much more heart-wrenching. But it's still such a good episode, especially for me with my deep love of angst and Sebastian Smythe, it's really just the best episode in general. Plus it has the added bonus of having the one and only Samcedes duet so, yeah, it's the best.
4. Favourite season 4 episode: Diva and Feud are both a lot of fun, even if a lot of what happens in them is really ridiculous. Guilty Pleasures is such a good Blam episode. And I love I Do for the flirty and thirsty sides of Klaine we get to see. But I do feel like, once again, the angst lover in me has to go with The Breakup. The Scientist and Don't Speak are two of my favorite songs on the whole show. Everyone's acting in that episode is just so so good. Darren and Chris just knock it out of the park in every single scene, and I will never cease to be awed by them.
5. Favourite season 5 episode: I would probably say Tested, because I always love an episode where Blaine gets to cry. And I love Elliot and everything that he does for Klaine in getting them to communicate. And I love getting to truly see Blaine acknowledge his self-worth issues instead of them just constantly being buried and locked away. A lot of the episode is weird and difficult to watch but the conversation that Klaine have at the end will always be one of my favorite Klaine scenes. Other contenders were Bash, because I love Kurt in that episode and once again we get angsty Blaine. And then New York New York because its when we first get to see Klaine actively working to fix the problems in their relationship instead of clinging to the past so tightly that they crush it entirely.
6. Favourite season 6 episode: God, this one is hard because I'm honestly not sure there's any episode that I truly love. Like The Hurt Lockers are iconic, and I love Chris' acting in 2009. But so much of that season is just weird and almost pointless that I'm not sure I have an episode I like enough to consider my favorite.
7. Episode that makes me cry: I haven't rewatched The Quarterback since it aired because of how much it makes me cry. Tested and The Breakup also both hurt a lot.
8. Episode that makes me laugh: The Hurt Lockers for sure
9. Favourite tribute episode: Michael obviously. It's probably my favorite episode of the whole show in general and the songs are so well done.
10. Favourite Christmas episode: Ooof, I love them all for different reasons, but there's just something about Blaine going to New York with Burt to comfort Kurt that will always get to me so it's gotta be Glee, Actually.
11. Episode with the best songs: Ooooh, probably the mashup episodes? I'm not sure I can pick one but it would be a tie between Never Been Kissed and Mash Off.
12. Favourite sectionals episode: Oh, I'm torn between Special Education and Hold On To Sixteen. I love Quinn and Sam getting a duet, and I love Valerie, and I love Mercedes and Tina getting to sing Dog Days Are Over (maybe I just love the lack of Rachel solos, lol). But I do love the set list in Hold On To Sixteen, I love Quinn singing Control, I love Kurt and Tina and Mike all getting solo parts in ABC. And of course The Troubletones are just so good.
13. Favourite regionals episode: I've gotta say On My Way even if it's largely just for Glad You Came and Cough Syrup. The actual competition doesn't matter much to me, but the Karofsky storyline was handled really well and I love Sebastian's apology to Blaine and the New Directions, and it's just good in general.
14. Favourite nationals episode: I really love the set list for Nationals in season 3, but I hate Rachel and so much of that episode is all about Rachel and her choking at her NYADA audition and somehow convincing Carmen Tibideux to come see her anyway. But on the other hand while I don't love the City of Angels set list for nationals as much, I do love the fact that they were all Finn's (and Cory's) favorite songs. And I love Burt and Carole being there. And I love Throat Explosion (or at least John Baptiste) actually being very kind and respectful of Finn's passing. I like that they didn't just lean hard into the show choir rivalry there and let them actually be humans who recognize the pain of the McKinley team. Also Throat Explosion's set was really good too.
15. Episode most people like but I don’t: I might get killed by my Klaine friends. But Love, Love, Love? At the time it aired I was super excited about the proposal, but now as an adult, I really wish it hadn't happened, especially not like that. Like I get that it's romantic in that big grand gesture that Kurt deserves and Blaine would always want to give him. But. They hadn't talked about it! While Kurt guessed it was coming on the drive, it still didn't leave him with anyway to actually pull Blaine aside and talk about it. And with multiple other show choirs there, including Sebastian, can you really expect Kurt to be able to say anything but yes? Like I would have loved for them to have a quiet, personal proposal. To have Blaine ask and have them talk about it and whether or not they're ready for that. And then they could do the big thing. But instead we got Kurt not being given a chance to think about if this is something he actually wants, and it leads to a lot of problems in the future for them.
16. Episode most people dislike but I like: Probably Old Dog, New Tricks. Like it's a weird episode, admittedly. But we get some of my favorite things in it. We get Blaine being a sweet and supportive partner, we get Klaine being a team, we get Kurt calling Rachel out on how selfish she is, we get puppies, and we get Peter Pan. It's great. I have fun with that episode.
and now that I have finally finished that, I'm going to tag @esilher, @calsvoid, @lusthurts, @backslashdelta, and @cryscendo

'our father who aren't in heaven' is sure a buckleming episode! fifty thousand characters, at least ten subplots, and somehow, entertaining in spite of it.
i AM furious at dean "not knowing" the achilles heel reference. this is a man who canonically reads homer and who is interested in movies like clash of titans. this is a cheap "hurr hurr dean is stupid" joke made at his expense and i will NOT stand for this 'dean is stupid' slander
the scene where everyone is watching donnatello translate the tablet is so ridiculous that it is entertaining. (additionally how much is on that demon tablet? there's been about twenty different pieces of information on that tablet. how did they find room for it?)
"if you want to stay here then stay here" said to cas when cas' love language is the phrase "i could go with you". dean is still so BRUTAL here and it's still so painful.
at least in the fight with charlie's demonic angels, EVERYONE is getting their ass kicked. "are any of us winning" is a line that has no business being as funny as it is
ROWENA! MY LOVE! MY GREATEST LOVE! queen of hell is actually the perfect character arc for her. it is so fitting. we also love rowena as a relationship counselor. dean and cas both say "it's fine" like "i love him; talk to HIM". and rowena says "fix it" like it's the easiest thing in the world (and you know what? it could be!). it just kills me HOW MUCH attention was given in the divorce arc to dean and cas' relationship and how integral to the show it was. and then in the last bit of the show it is DROPPED! like a hot potato!
jake abel looked at misha and jensen and said "i do not NEED a coworker; i will have extraordinary chemistry with MYSELF" and then proceeded to do exactly that. but seeing jake abel on my spn screen again after ten years was DELIGHTFUL.
this conversation between dean and sam is why i do not UNDERSTAND this idea that "dean wouldn't want sam to be with someone who was in the life". dean is so openly supportive of sam's relationship with eileen, and he GENUINELY enjoys her company. why is there the idea that dean doesn't support their relationship????
castiel's eyes should ALWAYS flash blue! i also enjoyed the idea of cas being the one to pray to michael for a meeting. and then "i didn't come to beg" like! what a fucking POWER MOVE. my GOD! cas and michael share a lot of good moments in this episode, and it's fun to think about cas, who is this insignificant seraph, finally catching michael's attention.
cas baiting michael into snapping... the BALLS on this angel are unbelievable. but he knows it's the only way he's going to get close enough to michael to make him see the truth! he's so smart! "we didn't bond" whoever told cas that he wasn't funny is a DAMN LIAR. and dean is STILL second-guessing cas! he's still criticizing cas' choices and how he chooses to go about things. annoying!
love how things like getting in and out of purgatory become so ridiculously simple in the later seasons. cas and crowley spend an entire season trying to find purgatory and in s15, michael snaps his fingers and BAM! there it is.
"since when do we get what we deserve" i am WEAK. i know that rich said that the glance to cas wasn't necessarily intentional but it still FEELS intentional.

2023 Dramas Watched
I watched a lot of dramas last year, but not as many as I did in 2022. It was mostly a good bunch, which is generally why my to watch list is mostly things people have recommended to me (or I've seen gifs on Tumblr that look revlevant to my interests.
I'll put the list under a cut. It's mostly for my reference anyway
1. Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama - My housemate wanted to watch this because Michael Sheen is in it. I don't even have that excuse, although it's always nice to see him in things. IDK I wasn't obsessively following the court case when it happened, but my boss kept giving us updates because she found it highly entertaining. I think it was just something silly to focus on to distract us all from the shit that's going on in the world. Anyway, the cast were great and it was highly entertaining. I don't think we were supposed to laugh as much as we did but it was kind of ridiculous.
2. Ghost Doctor - This is one I've been group watching with friends over the past few months. It was a lot of fun. A rather silly concept (brilliant surgeon is in a coma after an accident and haunts the hospital where his body is) with a surprising amount of heart to it. I enjoyed it.
3. Dragon Age: Absolution - I loved this! I don't know how well this would stand up if you haven't played the games. It's mostly a stand alone story with a few nods to previous canon. I, however, have played the games and they are pretty much my favourite game franchsise. So, yep, this was great. Very much in the vein of the games. Everyone is gay and it's delightful.
4. The Eclipse - This was okay. It was in a similar vein as Not Me in terms of being a BL drama about social justice, but it lacked the maturity and tight storyline that Not Me had. The two main leads were both excellent it just lost its way a bit towards the end. Still very enjoyable.
5. Welcome to Chippendales - Honestly this show wasn't even on my radar until Jacqui was looking for something to watch and saw it on Disney+. She told me she'd watched a documentary about the founder of Chippendales a while back and gave me a brief synopsis. It was such a wild story that I had to watch this. It was really good! The cast did a phenomenal job
6. About Youth - I'd had this recced to me a while back so when my Saturday group watch gang suggested we watch it I was all in. It was great! Incredibly sweet, occasionally heartbreaking. We all really enjoyed it.
7. Hotel del Luna - I enjoyed this a lot even though I cried WAY more than I was expecting to. I thought it was going to be a wacky comedy about ghosts, and there are lots of funny bits, but there's also a lot about death, grief and making peace with your life. I think I cried at least once in just about every episode. Do rec though. It was good.
8. Roommates of Poongduck 304 - This is one I started group watching before Christmas with some friends and never got around to finishing. It was cute. Nothing amazing, and not one I'd particularly want to watch again but it was fine.
9. Choco Milk Shake - I did enjoy this. It was very cute and funny in places. It was also WAY sadder than I was expecting and I ended up crying a lot. I wish they'd spent a little more time explaining the mechanics of everything (basic premise is a guy's childhood dog and cat come back in human form because he's lonely) and the ending was a little bittersweet. But overall I think I did enjoy it.
10. The Blood of Youth - I absolutely loved this! It had a lot of of the classic wuxia tropes in it, but an interesting enough story that I was hooked. The cast were great, the characters all had fantastic chemistry. I definitely want to check out some of the other dramas the lead has done because he was great.
11. Until We Meet Again - This has been on my to watch list more or less since I started watching East Asian dramas back in 2020. I've been avoiding it because it deals with some quite heavy topics (the premise is two male lovers in the 80s take their own lives because their fathers disapprove of their relationship and in present day they meet again having been reincarnated into two students at the same college) but I'm glad I bit the bullet and finally watched it. It was very sweet, and was all about healing and forgiveness. I liked it a lot. I think Not Me still holds the top spot for my favourite Thai drama but this is a close second
12. The Guest - I really wasn't sure about this one when I watch the first episode. I don't mind TV horror generally but the first episode was a lot and I had to mute it a couple of times because it was freaking me out. Luckily they toned it down a fair amount after that and the rest of it was fantastic! Really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the better dramas that I've watched this year so far. If you're looking for a k-drama that's in the same vein as The Exorcist/The Omen/Supernatural then you'll like this one.
13. Overworking Man - This was a genuinely pleasant surprise. I watched it because the lead is one of my tomb show actors and I had pretty low expectations. I was expecting some sort of cringe sitcom in the same vein as The Office. What I got was a bonkers little web drama full of queer subtext where there's actual character development and life lessons. I really enjoyed it!
14. Midnight Museum - This was a very odd little drama. It was made by GMM who makes a lot of my favourite BL dramas. This one is not a BL, but it uses all of the BL tropes. The two male leads keep talking about how they want to be together forever and they keep risking their lives to save each other. I guess as bros? It starts off as a horror drama (premise is a barista ends up getting a job at a museum that houses cursed objects, which then get stolen, and they have to recover them all) but then halfway through it turns into this weird religious cult thing where they examine the nature of free will vs God's plan. I think I enjoyed it? But it was definitely a bit weird.
15. Cupid's Last Wish - I've been group watching this with some friends over the past couple of months. I enjoyed both leads in A Tale of 1000 Stars which I watched last year. They were good in this too but the story didn't hit quite as hard. It was fine but the ending felt rushed and anticlimactic
16. Sell Your Haunted House - This was really fun. It reminded me a bit of Buffy just in terms of general vibes and ass-kicking female lead. There were some genuinely surprising plot twists and I had a blast watching it
17. Ghost Host, Ghost House - This had a nice twist to it that I didn't figure out until I was partway through. It was cute and interesting.
18. Stupid Boys, Stupid Love - This was cute. I haven't watched much Vietnamese TV and this was very diverse even for a BL drama. There were gay boys, gay girls, height differences (the tall biker girl and her small nerd boyfriend were my favourites), butch women, femme women, bisexuals. The characters were young and, as the title suggests, pretty stupid. But overall it was cute and fun and it was only an hour long in total
19. A League of Nobleman - This was fun. It was quite silly, buckets of queer subtext and some political intrigue thrown in for good measure. It wasn't particularly deep or heavy going but I enjoyed it a lot.
20. Between Us - This is a spinoff/sequel to Until We Meet again. It was very sweet, and I enjoyed my favourite character from UWMA being the main role in this. Didn't quite have the same emotional impact as UWMA but I very much enjoyed it
21. Reset - Finished this while I was at the treehouse last month. It was one we had been group watching and it was nice to get to finish it in person. It was an interesting drama. A lot of unexpected twists which I liked, and a timeloop story is always fun
22. Our Dining Table - Absolutely one of my favourite things that I have watched this year. It was so sweet and soft. Usually I'm not a fan of kidfic but this was really lovely and the kid in question was adorable
23. Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 - I was a bit dubious when I heard they were doing a sequel to Tale of the Nine-Tailed but it was perfect. Time travel shenanigans, an awesome woman with a huge sword, brotherly bonding, an OT3 polycule. I had a great time.
24. The Eighth Sense - I liked parts of it. The main couple were cute, the two best friends were awesome. I did not care for the unnecessarily bitchy ex-girlfriend and her best friend who was equally awful. It went a little two hard on the 'everyone must have a happy ending' idea so a bunch of characters ended up getting apologised to who really didn't deserve it
25. Popular Indie Creator Nekoyashiki is Making His Yearning for Approval Worse - This was kind of weird, but also really fun. Everyone was so extra and dramatic but that just tied into the comic themes. I actually really enjoyed it.
26. The King's Avatar - This one got recommended to me literally years ago. Right back when I first started watching Chinese dramas and asked for recs. I definitely should have watched it sooner I absolutely adored it. Like I want to write fic levels of adored it. It had such a good group of characters, found family feels all over the place and was just generally soft and lovely.
27. My School President - A very sweet high school BL drama. I wasn't massively emotionally invtested in it but I enjoyed it
28. Love Tractor - Absolutely adorable! It's just very soft and I enjoyed this so much I watched it a second time so I could show it to one of my friends
29. The Director Who Buys Me Dinner - Got to love a drama where the premise is 'if we don't date you will die'. It was funny, but also kind of heavy with one of the protagonists being immortal and the the other being a reincarnation of his dead lover.
30. Oh No! Here Comes Trouble - I don't watch a lot of Taiwanese dramas but this was fantastic! Really funny, also really tragic, and full of really interesting folklore. I loved it!
31. Mysterious Lotus Casebook - Hands down one of my favourite dramas of this year. I keep toying with wanting to write fic for it but I haven't quite got there yet. I loved the cast, I loved the story. I was wonderful.
32. Moonlight Chicken - I really enjoyed that this was a BL drama about actual adults instead of the usual ones about high school or college students. I'd seen the two leads in a couple of other dramas and I really enjoyed them in this too
33. Goblin - This is one of those dramas that gets recommended to me all the time so I finally sat down and watched it. I enjoyed it, but probably not my favourite. I think the whole 'immortal being falls in love with high school student' would have resonated with me more in my Buffy fandom days.
34. Cross Fire - Apparently this year is the year I watch all the esports dramas. This was nothing at all like what I expected. It had loads of twists that I didn't see coming and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
35. Our Flag Means Death S2 - Loved it. Just what I wanted from a second series. No notes.
36. Good Omens S2 - It was fine. I enjoyed it. It's not one of those dramas that I go feral for but the two leads are fun and it had some nice surprises.
37. He's Coming to Me - A very sweet BL that doesn't entirely resolve the fact that one of the protagonists is dead but it's left with an openly hopeful ending.
38. Stay By My Side - Another sweet ghost related story but both protagonists are alive in this one. One of them can hear ghosts, and the voices only go away if he touches his roommate. Feelings happen. It's adorable.
39. Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - I think I expected to enjoy this more than I did, but I think my disatisfaction comes from me wanting the drama to be resolved with an OT3. Instead there was just a lot of queer baiting where the two men almost kissed but they were drunk so no homo.
40. Fairyland Lovers - I was way more invested in the side couple than I was in the main storyline. The main couple really didn't interest me at all even though one of them was Bai Yu.

Jensen's Sunday JIB12 Solo Panel
Poor Jensen is still tired but he's a trooper and charging on and so are we, getting right into the questions: does he have any aspirations to do any more theater?
His initial response is no. That it was a huge mistake. When asked why he replies "have you read A Few Good Men? It's like 120 pages" and he took the role where he was in like a 100 of them.  The fan asks if he would consider it if it was maybe something easier like a musical. As somebody who really likes the theater and loves musicals, I am peeved at the suggestion that a musical would be easier.
But he replies that he doesn’t plan super far ahead in his career and what he’s going to be doing, he didn’t even know he was gonna do that play until a few weeks before he said sure. He doesn’t even know what he’s gonna be doing in 6months. He likes to be challenged and exercise muscles that might not get used that's why he likes directing because it’s a different mindset than being an actor on set, it’s a different ballgame, and he likes that it’s a challenge and makes him think from a different perspective in different ways. And theater would be the same it would be a challenge from a different perspective so he doesn’t know, maybe it's something he'll do again.
He also mentions being in NY recently doing some publicity by himself for just a couple days; he did some NYC talk shows like Ryan and Kelly, and Good Morning America, and during one of those days he had a free night so he went to see a Broadway play. Went and saw Music Man starring Hugh Jackman who he says lights up a stage and encourages those that have the opportunity to watch it to go see it. x
Says the only musical he’s ever done is West Side Story and he actually sings a bit of one of the songs 🎶
When he looks back at 15 seasons of SPN, what was the funniest scene for him to shoot?
There was a lot of laughter on that set which is something he’s proudly been able to tell the crew and cast of the new shows he’s been on since SPN. He's gotten asked about how they managed to last for 15 seasons and he says it’s because they laughed every single day. They showed up to set and enjoyed themselves, they didn’t show up to work and punched in and punched out and were just looking forward to being done with the day.
They showed up every day to do something different and have fun doing it, and that was one of the magic ingredients to lasting the length they did because they laughed so much to where it would hurt.  He says he and Jared would cry tears of laughter. So to pick one scene is though, then he jokes there’s one aspect he doesn’t miss which is being trapped in the Impala when Jared’s had a breakfast burrito 😆
Mentions Yellow Fever because that was an entire ep of him being ridiculous and making Jared break character. But there was stuff every day so his answer would be the whole series. x
Then he again mentions Jared's farts, and how he doesn't miss them...and I swear that I listened to this part like five times because I couldn't believe it but immediately afterward this man goes "maybe a little bit" 💀 When you love the hubby so much you even miss his farts, I'm dying here moving on...
Was it difficult to play a version of Dean that doesn’t like Sam? For example Demon!Dean.
Yes, and he’s shared before that it did make it a little bit more difficult when Jared was soulless!Sam. And Dean being demon!Dean, or Michael are things that made it a bit different and he starts to say that it's because that person that you rely on that brings their character to life in a way that supports what you’re doing and is relatable then he stops, is basically like fuck it and says that Jared completes him 💕
He then tries to pass it off as if it was in a joking way saying "Great. That’s the headline tomorrow Jensen Ackles finally admits....that he really does love Tom Cruise movies." But we know it's the truth, we know Jared completes him, and I would say look at the way he says this, look at when he decides to try and pass it off as a joke, how even when he's trying to pass it off as joking he still looks kind of serious watching the crowds reaction, look at what came before when he struggled to find the words to explain his and Jared's connection. And I do mean look, don't take my word for it.
Getting back to his answer things like that did make it a little bit more difficult to do what they were so used to doing, when that element was taken away but in his opinion, that’s one of the great things about SPN that they took chances and risks and swung for the fences, and he says that’s something he and Robbie Thompson talk about now regarding The Winchesters that you gotta take those risks. I got news for you Jensen that whole project is a risk.
And says one of the reasons they were able to take those risks with the show is because the fans stuck with them through it all, they never said "this is too far" and he doesn’t think they ever went too far, that they could have kept going. I'm not gonna say anything.
That that speaks volumes to the world and characters Kripke created, but also the fans who love watching the two brothers do what they do. x
Two-part question: when he reads a script does he read something and suddenly think ‘that’s going to be an iconic line’ and decides how to deliver it? Or does he do the take and then think it could be a bit more special?
A little bit of both. There’s some lines that jump off the page like oh thats a really good line that’s a headline kind of line. And then there are times when a line will come out in a scene where he’s like 'that’s in the teaser, that’s gonna be in the teaser for sure'. There are just some marquee lines that are written that way and then there are some marquee lines that just happen to come out that way.
He would say Soldier Boy was probably a little bit more on the page but he remembers there was this one day when he was shooting a scene and Kripke was there on set, and they were spitballing and coming up with alternate lines for the scene and to him, that’s one of the wonderful things he loves about his job is the creative collaboration that exists on a set with the other actors and the crew. That when it's a good set and not some toxic set, which there are plenty of, that when there is that kind of freedom to be creative and that’s encouraged, that’s a really healthy work environment and that's when it gets fun.
So a lot of times those lines just happen but it does hit him sometimes like when he said "Saving people, hunting things" that came out and he thought 'that’s the headline, that’s it' but he didn’t think "Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole" would become what it has aka so beloved so sometimes he doesn’t realize it and then sometimes he does and sometimes he thinks a line will be iconic but people don’t care for it. You never know what’s gonna hit.
Which brings us to part two of the fans question which is: did Kripke say to some of the writers of The Boys that Jensen could really deliver iconic lines?
He doesn’t know what Kripke said before he got there, he does know some of the cast were basically told they would like Jensen that he’s good stuff and that he wasn’t coming in to make waves or ruffle feathers, that he’d find his lane and add to an already amazing cast. So Kripke had done a little bit of legwork for him with the cast but as far as what he told the writers Jensen thinks they just wrote Soldier Boy that way and hoped that he could deliver.
He asks the fan what her favorite Soldier Boy line is and she replies that it's the line about older women. For those that don't know or may have forgotten: "Hughie, listen... these women, they're like fine wine, okay. The older they get the more delicious but the drier."
Jensen says Kripke came up with that one on the fly, and shares that a lot of Paul Reiser's dialogue on the show - he played the Legend - a lot of his dialogue was in the audition scene as Soldier Boy. That the audition scene was pretty amazing.
Also, his key gaffer on Big Sky is a big fan of Soldier Boy and he'll roll past Jensen on set and throws Soldier Boy lines to him all the time and then walk off laughing to himself. x
Question about The Winchesters, what was it like for him to be Dean again, and what can be expected from s1?
It’s like slipping into an old pair of sneakers, it just feels right when he’s leaning against the car but he will say there’s not a lot of that in the show, there'll be a little bit but you’ll hear Dean’s voice. And he’s really excited for fans to see it, he’s excited to see how it comes together, they just put a bit of a spin on the pilot and they did some re-shoots and stuff so according to him, that's really coming together nicely. That they have John Showalter, who had taken over as post-production producer after Sgriccia left for The Boys, and was one of the in-house directors of the show, as their guy there; he's the guy with the boots on the ground he even moved to New Orleans and he’s acting as the current producing director.
Jensen's excited to see what fans think, excited for the actors, and excited for fans to get exposed to them cause he thinks they’re awesome. x
What is his favorite beer on tap right now at the brewery?
He once again mentions that he hasn't been home in two months but that they're probably getting ready to rotate out of the summer seasonals and start to move into the early fall seasonals so he honestly doesn’t know which ones are still on or which new ones have come on what he knows are the ones that are always available and of those, he’ll always go for a crackle. Jensen not knowing this info doesn't seem like smart business management on your part. x
Is there something that would incentivize him to go back to being a lead on a show or does he not see himself going in that direction again?
He does. He’s been the guest at a few tables, and he would have no problem going back into a lead role but that said he doesn’t know if that’s going to happen or not. Maybe he’ll just keep guesting there are a few projects in early development that have him as the lead, in particular, there’s a film that he’s excited about but he doesn't give any details about it. Says if it’s a good role and a story he finds entertaining that he thinks would also be entertaining then whatever that looks like whether he's the lead or not or just directing he just likes to tell a good story and entertain, that’s his thing.  x
What was his impression of his very first convention compared to today?
His first con was in the UK after s1 and it was a multi-show con with a variety of shows represented, and he thought he’d just be playing in the back of the crowd but he, as a representative of the show, got a huge reaction that weekend. He was shocked and he remembers it being quite an eye-opener as far as fan reaction went to the show so he was like 'oh we might get another season. we might not be canceled.' x
Final question! The fan wants to know how he has practiced his singing and vocal type since his voice dropped.
Jensen doesn’t think that his singing voice dropped as much as his speaking voice did, slightly he would say he does feel like he can sing higher than he should be able to given his speaking voice but he never had any proper training or anything like that so he says to the fan that they could probably teach Jensen something because the fan has taken classes. He’s never done any kind of work on his voice it’s just naturally gone down and he says it was JDM's fault cause he saw what he did as John in s1 and was like 'he’s so cool I want be him when I grow up'. That voices naturally change as one gets older but his singing voice hasn't changed a whole lot. x

What you did was really great about Michael and Tony in their first meeting, what if Tony Montana danced with Victoria Corleone at a party and liked her and didn't know that she was the wife of his biggest partner and Michael was looking at them (the same as Fredo in Cuba) 😭
Thank you so much, lovely!! 🥺❤️ I’m not too big a fan of AU cross overs but Scarface crossing over Godfather here is actually a lot of fun. 👀 We know Miss Victoria loves to party and dance, and if Tony is unaware she’s his boss’s wife, then all both of them know is to have a good time. 😏
“Back in my club—back in Miami, always like this, man. It’s always like this.” Tony grins, dancing to the upbeat party rhythm the hired band plays.
“Party everyday?” You can’t hide the amused smile over your face, knowing that seeing someone like Tony alone enjoying himself to the fullest at your hosted party is a breath of fresh air.
“Party everyday, baby.” Tony’s not even aware he’s called you the pet name, taking your hand giving you a spin. “That’s how I like it.”
Had it not also been for Fredo, Deanna, Sandra and Sonny dancing together around the two of you, Tony and you would be the centre of attention for all of your guests.
“You come down to Miami with me,” Tony grins. “I show you a real good time. You been?”
It doesn’t exactly make much of a difference to Michael whose always had no trouble or hesitation refusing what he called “ridiculous, adolescent style” dancing.
“Miami, huh?” You dance dangerously close up to Tony. “Mm, never. I’m a New York girl myself.”
Michael Corleone letting loose, relaxing and enjoying himself in something other than a slow dance? He may as well be caught dead doing so.
“Believe me,” Tony’s eyes gaze over the curves of your hips. “I can tell. Gotta give me the home tour sometime. I’m here to stay.”
It’s something you of course have come to realize there’s just no negotiating for, and Tony isn’t even aware he’s replaced Michael’s presence on the dance floor.
“Vegas is just the place for you if you like to party.” You feel Tony bump up against your back. “Lake Tahoe’s a bit too calm for a guy like you, wouldn’t you say?”
Michael had mentioned he was married, he had mentioned he had a wife, and Tony knows this.
“Maybe.” A playful smirks spreads over Tony’s lips. “If you’re here, imma get used to it.”
It’s the only thing that Michael can think to himself now, seated at his banquet table surrounded by an array of guests and chatty businessmen who could care less about the ongoing dance.
‘Antonio Montana...’ Michael ponders the presence of his business partner cozying up to his wife, knowing he’s not going to get away with any of this by the end of the party.
“You flatter me, Mr. Montana.” You blush a little, beginning to notice what’s becoming Tony’s obvious flirting.
What Tony doesn’t know is that you’re Michael Corleone’s wife—the wife of the most powerful mafioso in America and Tony’s biggest business partner.
“But not too much, huh?” Tony’s already noticed the dazzling rings over your fingers. “You somebody’s sweetheart.”
Tony hasn’t bothered to ask just who you are in that sense or even mention a word of business to you.
“You noticed.” You giggle back with a nod. “That’s right.”
After seeing you swerve your hips on the dance floor, throw your head back in laughter and enjoy yourself over a sip of expensive champagne, he was pulled to you like a magnet.
“That’s too bad for me,” Tony leads you to the beat of the music. “I got competition? I could get you diamonds like that, man. The guy who bought them for you bankrupt now?”
“I’m—“ You glance over your shoulder back to where you know Michael was last sitting, about to laugh off Tony’s comment and mention just who you’re married to until you blink and realize much to your surprise that Michael’s no longer there.
You let out a soft gasp just a moment after to feel the firmness of Michael’s chest pressing up against your back as his hands gently clasp both of your hands in his, leading your body back to him.
It’s only there and then that the playful look on Tony’s face dims almost instantly, and his eyes meet Michael’s sharp gaze filled with disappointment and the same fiery jealousy Tony is no stranger to.

Hi, could I leave a fic request?
JJ and Will get divorced but they are obviously still so in love with each other and it’s angsty and everyone around them can see it.
I hope you enjoy this, anon.
Warnings: Marital Problems, mentions of fighting, divorce, canon typical violence sort of mentioned.
Read on AO3
or
full story under cut
It had been fight after fight in their house lately, most of them taking place late at night when JJ had just gotten home. Most of the fights were over ridiculous things, anyway. Will had seen a magazine cover that had JJ getting awfully close to some actor. JJ had explained it was for the case. She was undercover. The man’s stalker was going after the women that he dated and JJ happened to be his type.
Then there was Will’s new partner. JJ wasn’t typically the type to get jealous, but then at the precinct’s Christmas party, his new partner got a little tipsy and was all over Will. That hadn’t even been the fight, though, the issue was that Will enjoyed it. (At least as far as JJ could tell).
They had even begun having big fights over even smaller things. Will left the toilet seat up. Screaming match. JJ forgot to put the milk back in the fridge. Screaming match. Will played a little too rough with Henry. Screaming match. And really it hadn’t been that rough, but JJ had been looking for a reason.
So after months, and months of fighting, followed by weeks of just straight up ignoring each other, they decided that it was time to call it quits. They both signed the papers, uncontested. Neither wanted to bring lawyers into anything. They agreed that Will would have the boys any time that JJ was out of town, and JJ would have them when she was there. It was all so fast, and before she knew it she was no longer married.
It was a few months later, when the team was having one of their “family” meals. Luke had brought Lisa, Dave had Krystall there, with Portia. Matt had brought Kristy and the kids, even Penelope brought a guy she had recently started seeing. JJ had brought the boys with her, but Will wasn’t there.
Of course, everyone knew what had happened, it wasn’t easy to hide anything from a bunch of profilers, so of course everyone knew that the two were no longer together.
JJ looked around Dave’s backyard, Henry and Michael were running around with Matt and Kristy’s boys, their two little girls trying to catch up with the older boys. She looked over to see Matt and Kristy talking to Penelope and her new beau. JJ bit her lip. She tried not to think about how they were probably talking about how they just had to go on a double date sometime soon. When Luke and Lisa joined the conversation, JJ sighed and looked away quickly. It wasn’t that she was jealous, but she just missed Will so much.
“Having fun?” Spencer asked, coming to stand next to his best friend. JJ gave him a smile and nodded,
“Yeah, I’m glad Henry and Michael have someone to play with at these things now.” She said, taking the drink that Spencer was offering her. She sipped it slowly and then
“How are the boys doing?” Spencer asked, JJ knew what Spencer meant. She knew that he wanted to know how they were doing since the two were divorced.
“Surprisingly they’re alright… I think since I’m not around much anyway, not much has changed for them…” She said, Spencer nodded.
“I noticed Henry has been glancing at you more than usual. I think he’s worried you’re going to disappear.” Spencer explained, JJ stared ahead, continuing to watch the two blonde haired boys, “And Michael has been very attached to Henry all night.” JJ tried to will away the tears that had welled in her eyes.
“Yeah… Got it…” She muttered and wiped at her eyes with a napkin. Spencer looked at her sadly, but then Henry was running over and hugging Spencer’s legs,
“Uncle Spencer, can you show David and Jake your magic trick?” Henry asked, Spencer quickly smiled,
“Of course I can!” He said, following the little boy over to the group of children. Penelope quickly replaced him,
“Hey, Jayje.” She said in her usual chipper voice. JJ gave her friend a quick smile, and took another sip from the, surprisingly strong, drink that Spencer had given her.
“Hey, Penn.” JJ said, watching her boys with their godfather. Penelope watched with her, smiling.
“They love Spencer so much, it's adorable.” Penelope said, “And I think Spencer enjoys it. He’d make such a good dad someday.” JJ nodded along with what she said, but her mind had wandered to Will. Penelope noticed her far away look and gave her a squeeze on her arm, “Everything okay?” JJ tried to give her reassuring smile, but the tears were a dead giveaway. Penelope quickly pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back. JJ sobbed into Penelope’s shoulder.
“I want him back.” She cried, Penelope still holding her close, “I-I miss him…”
“Sh, I know, hun, I know…” Penelope said. She had started to tear up herself, feeling so bad for her friend, “Maybe… Maybe you should talk to him…” Penelope suggested, JJ pulled away quickly and looked at her colorful friend.
“No, no. I can’t do that. He- We-” JJ sniffled a bit and wiped her face, “We fought so much, Pen. The boys saw it a lot, to, and it just… It was bad for everyone…” She sighed, finally starting to calm down. Penelope frowned and gave her friend another hug,
“I still think you should talk to him…” Penelope said. JJ looked down and nodded,
“I guess I could try…” She sighed, Penelope smiled,
A few weeks later, the team arrived back from a tough case. It had been a long and hard case and left everyone feeling down. JJ had been hurt pretty badly and she was feeling especially down since she most likely wouldn’t be able to take the boys until she fully healed.
As the elevator opened and the team all stepped out, Penelope was waiting for them. She hugged them each, one by one. When she pulled away from JJ, she gave her a bit of a nervous smile.
“There is a… surprise… for you in the round table room.” Penelope said, glancing around at the others. JJ raised her eyebrows, but made her way to the round table room, dropping her go bag on her desk before she made it inside. She opened the door and Will turned around to face her.
“Will…” Her eyes widened a bit and the man gave her one of his handsome smiled,
“Hey, JJ.” He said, she bit her lip and wrapped her arms around her abdomen,
“What are you doing here?” She asked. A very big part of her wanted to melt in his arms, but she knew better than that.
“Penelope told me that you had a rough one… And she said that you might want to see me.” JJ bit her lip, feeling tears well in her eyes.
“I- I just-” Will opened his arms and JJ immediately fell into the arms of her ex. She gripped his shirt tight and cried into his shoulder. Will held her close, running his fingers through her hair in a way that he knew she loved.
“I’ve got you, JJ.” He whispered softly, planting a kiss on her head, she looked up at him finally,
“Will… I want you back… I know that- that we had a lot of issues before, but-but… We could… We could get counseling… Or-” She was cut off when Will pulled her into a passionate kiss. As they pulled away, the heard the others clapping. JJ turned around to face them all with a smile,
“Thank you, Pen.” She said, still clinging to Will. Emily gave JJ and smile,
“Why don’t you take some time to heal and get everything figured out.” Emily suggested. JJ smiled,
“Thank you, Em.” JJ gave her a smile, and then Will led her out, taking her home.

Also, Brian's soft smile after the first kiss in the parking lot. I'm a Brian Kinney realized the depth of his feelings for Justin at prom truther!
Hey anon!
I just love the entire scene in the parking lot so so much. Like we see such a soft, vulnerable Brian and it truly is the culmination of all his feelings towards Justin coming to the surface. The first shot is of them singing and dancing, Brian Kinney is singing because he's so happy.. I can't.
A part of him goes to the prom for Justin because he knows that's what he wanted, a part of him does it because of what Michael says to him about being young and beautiful forever, but the main part goes because he wants to. He chooses Justin. To see him actually enjoying himself, being carefree is so beautiful to watch. With the line 'even if it was ridiculously romantic' it's supposed to come off as slightly sarcastic but in reality it's not. He means it - it really is romantic and he's just allowed to be in the moment and not be plagued by 'I don't believe in love/what am I doing etc' and he's okay with it. I just think it's a really lovely way of showing how far he's come across the season and even juxtaposing it with the tragedy after works perfectly. Brian spends so much of his life having to supress his true feelings, play the bad guy, living as a gay man in a straight world, defend his lifestyle and that's a heavy burden. But in this moment none of that matters he's just a guy in love with another guy - he gets to have that romcom moment yk.
I don't think I've seen him smile as much as he does in these scenes. That moment in the car where he looks at Justin in the rear view mirror with THE softest smile on his face. Seeing Justin singing with the scarf around his neck it's such a look of fondness, like that's my dorky adorable boyfriend and he couldn't be happier.
I'm also living for the parallel between this and the dance in the pride episode. Brian's been complaining all night he hasn't been able to have any fun and when Justin points out some guys checking him out. What does he do? He picks Justin. He could've easily just gone and fucked a random but he chooses to spend his night with someone he cares about instead. Not to mention him directly referencing wanting to give Justin the dance from prom he forgot. And the smiles we get so many smiles once more.

Things that Spark Joy-4x03
This was so far the least fun episode to get through but there were some things I did enjoy so lets talk about those! As always, the salty post can be found here.
Dallas and Michael’s friendship is literally the best thing to happen to this show since it started and established Malex was going to be A Thing. Michael has someone who he can play around with using their powers (like him and Max used to but quit after Rosa and lectured Michael about using his powers all the time), and who he can tease and be teased by without all the pain and weight of history and the little barbs that we see when he has those moments with people like Max and Isobel, and someone who truly understands the struggles Michael faced as a kid and acknowledges the hard work Michael is putting in to grow. Plus, Dallas has Michael’s back and agrees that Michael has a point about the other aliens. Michael deserves to have someone in his corner and since Alex is currently eating sand in the desert and also isn’t ever allowed to be involved with Michael and whatever is going on with everyone else, I’m glad Michael at least has Dallas to have his back. If we lose out on getting more of this friendship and Michael getting to return the favor for Dallas and have his back when he’s struggling I’m gonna riot.
Speaking of Dallas, his scene with Graham and overlaid with him and Michael having a telepathic argument was so much fun!
I have other thoughts on the new aliens that are in the other, saltier post, but I will say Bonnie is a little ray of sunshine when the other two aren’t bringing her down and she’s fun to watch. It reminds me a little of seeing Nora enjoying ice cream for the first time and Michael stumbling onto someone who can help him see the joy in the earth he hated for so long will be good for him I think. It also allows him to have a chance to share the things he has learned to love about earth as well AND someone who can tell him about his home which he has been robbed of MULTIPLE times with the deaths of Noah, Nora, and Jones. And someone likely to be a little less biased in telling him because she’s not (as far as we know right now) related to him or working with an agenda to get him onto a certain side of things.
As...hella awkward as that “double date” was, I always enjoy Isobel and Kyle together and the Kybel crumbs we are getting. Also a winery with nerdy names?! WHEN are Kybel and Malex going to double date there?! And Kyle got some of the references so clearly him and Alex have been handing out and watching nerdy things. Love that for them.
Liz and her absolute JOY over science machinery will never not be a delight. Also, her giving the director of a top secret paramilitary organization a face-smoosh in excitement is just TOO CUTE.
Michael’s plan was actually so good?! WHEN will Max admit that Michael is a genius? Michael totally calling how Clyde would react to Max being Max is so true of him and the heist music was On Point and made me smile. Plus, Michael got to be the hero and throw out a ridiculous line. You know he’s having so much fun and is vibrating with excitement to tell Alex all about it.
We might be getting Jones back?! 😀😀😀 He was SO much fun and they killed him off WAY too early. Also if they had made him just like, a tiny bit less “evil dictator” he would have been the perfect villain to bring back to help everyone defeat the bigger villain later. Him and Michael having to work together and being bitches about it, out loud to each other would be hilarious, and you KNOW Jones would impersonate Max just to confuse Kyle, like they could have had some fun with it! So fingers crossed we at least get to see Jones again for a bit this season! RNM has always struggled with how they handle their villains so I’m not holding my breath, but I will definitely be excited if we get Jones back for a bit.

Saturday Morning Coffee
Good morning from Charlottesville, Virginia! ☕️
Tumblr media
It’s been a fun week at work. I’ve been fixing bugs here and there. For some reason I enjoy this type of work. I spent a decent amount of time looking at memory graphs for object retentions problems and fixed a couple of good ones this week. That always feels great!
As for Stream for Mac, I started off the week in a bit of a funk but thanks to some amazing Mac devs I was put back on the right path. Stream for Mac development is moving forward once again. Fingers crossed I can keep up the momentum. 🤞🏼
Nikita Prokopov A.K.A. Tonsky
So all this time I was living under impression that, for example, if the average web page size is 3 MB, then JavaScript bundle should be around 1 MB. Surely content should still take the majority, no?
Some of the examples Nikita gives seem ridiculous. It makes me wonder if backend processing that spits out pure HTML will ever become a thing again?

But Tony Delivers doesn’t need to be anything bigger than it already is, which is one guy on a bike showing up to deliver food, probably smiling, probably asking how you’re doing, a bolt of disarming kindness in a city that even before we all got addicted to screens was known for being standoffish. That seems worth $5.
Tony has become a Seattle hero! I can’t believe he’s able to survive on $5 deliveries but bravo for making your own little niche!

I’ve been learning more about common attacks that appear in my Nginx logs to learn more about what happens beyond the log entries.
Nish is geekin’ out again. I wish I had his brain. The things I could accomplish! 🧠

Also, do not worry at this time about acquiring the resources to build the house itself. Your first priority is to develop detailed plans and specifications. Once I approve these plans, however, I would expect the house to be under roof within 48 hours.
This piece is ridiculous in all the best ways. The paragraph I chose to feature really hit home. Yes, yes, take your time. We need it in two days. 🤣

If you like the idea of a perpetual three-day weekend, you might be one of a growing cadre that supports the concept of degrowth: a school of thought aimed at shrinking economies and moving away from GDP growth as a metric of success, while instead emphasizing universal basic services and social well-being.
With the rise of AI companies believe they can replace us with software for many types of work.
I think that’s cool! Let’s replace workers and figure out a way to allow folks to do whatever they want and still receive a paycheck. Like, perhaps, Universal Basic Income, Single Payer health care, and free university for everyone! Of course the rich people won’t like that idea.
Trust me when I say I could find plenty of things to work on.

It’s time for the NATIVE mobile development to end.
I don’t agree. I’ve been working on a project that involves React Native and I see the value in it, but that doesn’t mean native development should go away. Your mileage may vary. For me it’s native or bust for my personal projects.
Mike Elgan • Computerworld
More to the point: Most companies cannot show actual monetary benefits from RTO mandates. But most employees can show actual and significant monetary costs from RTO mandates.
This is an interesting take on the cost to employees to return to work. I’ve never thought about it in those terms. For me it’s always been about the flexibility working remotely gives me. I save between 40-60 minutes a day by not commuting, I can have afternoon coffee with my wife, and if I need to work late it’s so much easier to stomach because I’m already home.
If WillowTree asked us all to return to the office full time, I would. I just prefer working from home.

The Kremlin has said it will use its “entire strategic arsenal” and fire nuclear missiles at London, Washington, Berlin and Kyiv if it is made to give up the areas of Ukraine it has invaded.
We need to get our act together and get more aid to Ukraine. The GOP loves their orange American Dictator who, in turn, loves Putin so they’re keeping aid from Ukraine. What happened to all those Patriotic Republicans with their flags and love of all things military? They’re too cowardly to stand up to Trump. It’s really shameful.

Stephen King Hates The Only Movie He Ever Directed
Tumblr media
I liked Maximum Overdrive for what it was. It’s a popcorn movie. Get your popcorn, soda, find your seat, and sit back to watch the mayhem unfold. It delivered and I had no idea Stephen King directed it.

The Lost Boys (1987)
After moving to a new town, two brothers discover that the area is a haven for vampires.
Tumblr media
JayBell: This movie is literally so dramatic. The style, the clothes, the hair, the moody teenagers--it's all drama. The humor is there, and honestly, it verged on a satirical portrayal of a vampire movie at times. Some of the stuff that happens is so ridiculous, but thankfully it's ridiculous in a mostly good way.
The little brother I think steals the show. He definitely wins first place for fashion sense. He also seems to be one of the few people with sense in the movie. I like that he's actually scared of his brother even as he wants to help him. I feel like most "normal" people would feel the same.
Now let's talk about our main dude. Ever heard of peer pressure? Well this dude is the most susceptible to peer pressure than anyone I've ever seen. In fact, it would be wrong to call it "peer" pressure because it's more like "stranger" pressure. It's crazy to me that he would disregard the warnings of the hot girl he likes in favor of listening to this weird biker creep that he just got into a fight with. Drink this abnormal mysterious liquid with a gang of bikers in an abandoned dirty cave? Sure, why not?
Also the insta-love in this movie is insane. I could've done without some of that. Like he meets the girl, they have half a conversation totaling five minutes, and then all of a sudden she cares too much about him and they're passionately in lust/love or whatever the next time they see each other. Riiiiiiiigghhhhht. I think the girl and the little boy could have a better part in the whole plot.
Overall, this is just a fun time. It's not a perfect movie, but it's entertaining. It's a good break from our Halloween slashers too.

Anzie: I do have to say as 80s cringe as this was, I enjoyed myself, whether that be my own delirium or just that it was our final night of spooky season. (Not to mention I had an 80s phase as a teenager and I am cringe, but that’s neither here nor there). Now, first before I talk about anything vampire related, the clothes, my gawdddd, especially Sam. Actually pretty much only Sam. Bc his outfits were so distracting. And the things they say!! Pretty much all of which comes out of Sam’s mouth. Fave shoutout to him asking his brother if he’s been freebasing again, when he’s very clearly a VaMPiRe(that might just be my new fave insult).
Annnyways I just wanna discuss the level of peer pressure and helplessness Michael eludes from his pores. In the words of John Mulaney - his backbone is in fact an eclair. Ummm some freaks race you to a cliff, so you follow them into a cave, and after you “see” maggots and worms in the Chinese food, you just drink something from a bottle that looks like Indian Jones discovered from the Crusades??? Or the Ark of the Lost Covenant. Like come onnn man. And then how he gets his ear pierced and little leather jacket. To beeee cooolll. It actually is the worst and most enjoyable parts of the movie.
Speaking of worst parts of the movie. The vampire effects. Wowzerz. Like not to be rude but the forehead they gave them makes them look like those big brained goldfish. But whatever. I love the vampire blood is glitter. Pure glitter.
I think the way they had the kids find out who the head vampire was and ultimately kill them was fun and kept my attention real good, buttttt there would be no movie if Michael just wasn’t Michael with all his shenanigans.
^ No spoilers but even tho gramps a little freak- gramps for the win!
Rating: 6/10 Vampires 🧛‍♂️

Slashers With an S/O Who Keeps Their Shirt On During Sex
Michael Myers
Surprisingly, he is one of the most understanding. Michael gets what it’s like to want to hide parts of yourself in order to feel safe and secure so he’s more than okay with you keeping your shirt on. After all, he keeps the mask on during sex, why couldn’t you wear a shirt.
Expects you to be okay with the mask staying on since you like keeping your shirt on. Don’t be a hypocrite y/n.
However, once you finally feel okay ditching the shirt is when Michael will decide to ditch the mask around you. Think of it as him leveling the playing field. Both of you are bearing your insecurities to each other, becoming completely exposed and open to each other. For the first time, Michael will take things slow and gentle. Congratulations, you have unlocked love making instead of primal fucking.
Once Michael takes his mask off around you there’s no going back, not that there was really any going back before either. Now you’re not only his, you’re his permanently. here is no leaving or moving on.
Bo Sinclair
Bo may come off as cocky and arrogant but really, he’s just hiding insecurities himself. So if he cares about you, he’s not going to push you to completely expose yourself to him not matter how badly he wants to see all of you.
Will give you one of his old shirts to wear while he fucks you. If you’re going to war something it’s going to be something that still proves to him that you’re his. Besides, he also likes the idea of taking his shirts back after he’s completely wrecked you while you’ve worn them.
He may not be able to look but he’s most definitely still going to touch. Bo will slide his hands up under your shirt to grope you and tease your nipples with his fingers, anything to get you to keep making those pretty noises for him.
Once you finally feel comfortable taking your shirt off during sex, he does nothing but praise you for once. He never wants to see you with a shirt on ever again while he’s fucking you and if that means no lewd teasing and degrading for once then so be it.
Vincent Sinclair
Once again, a slasher that is very understanding of your insecurities. Vincent is insecure about his body as well as his face. (Cause why else would you wear thick baggy sweaters surrounded by hot wax and lit candles in Louisiana)
In fact, the first time you and Vincent have sex both of you stay mostly clothed. Over time, both of you begin to strip down more but he knows better than to make a grab for your shirt. He’s to sweet though so he wouldn’t try some shit like that.
This man absolutely worships your body. He does have to show his muse how much he appreciates them after all.
If you ever decide to take your shirt off he makes sure to let you know how much he loves you and the way you look, even though he can’t express it verbally.
Loves when you wear one of his sweaters. Your completely blissed out look while make fists around the sleeves that are to long on you as you make all those pretty sounds could drive him mad.
Thomas Hewitt
The fact you feel insecure around him and feel the need to hide your body makes him pretty upset. Of course he’s not upset with you, he’s just upset you don’t see yourself the way he sees you.
Does his best to communicate to you how much he loves you, how pretty he thinks you are, how much he cares for you. Thomas just wants you to feel comfortable and confident when you;re around him.
Still, he doesn’t push you to do something you’re not comfortable it’s. He understands what it’s like to want to hide the parts of you that you don’t like, the parts other people have ridiculed and made fun of.
When you finally do take your shirt off, he goes crazy. Have fun attempting to walk literally ever again. This man will give you a whole new definition for the phrase “rearranging your guts.”
Brahms Heelshire
He’s a complete brat about everything, and while he won’t try and take your shirt off, he’s not going to pretend he’s happy about it. Often begs you to take it off as he’s brutally thrusting into you. Not gonna happen Brahmsy.
Again, he may not look but he can touch and he’s going to take full advantage of that. It’s not his fault you whine and make such pretty noises for him whenever he sneaks his hands up under your shirt.
In the winter, he’ll wrap his cardigan around you as well. The old house can be hard to keep heated and he doesn’t want you to get cold. You should think him for working so hard to keep you warm.
When you feel comfortable enough to be completely naked in front of him he makes sure to fuck you dumb. He won’t stop until you’ve cum multiple times and struggle to form sentences. You’ll be shaking and covered in both cum and sweat by the time he’s through with you.
It’s not like it was anything he hasn’t seen before considering he just stalks you all of the time. But still, he wants to see every part of you and that stupid shirt of yours always got in the way of that.
Stu Macher
He’s surprisingly chill about the whole thing. While he is absolutely dying to see you completely naked he’s not going to shame you for feeling insecure. You’re still going to get lots of compliments and praise from him while he fucks you whether you’re wearing a shirt or not.
Will make sure that your comfortable with everything that happens. He loves you and doesn’t want you to not enjoy anything that happens in he bedroom so he’s always asking for your permission before he does anything.
Won’t make any comments if you tell him about something that would help you feel more secure or safe. Want the lights off if you’re going to take your shirt off? He’s more than okay with it, he’s had plenty of practice for navigating through the dark.
His goal is to make you scream and he’s not gonna let your shirt get in the way of that. Expect for him to still tease your hardened nipples through your shirt, will even suck on them through your shirt, he doesn’t care.
Billy Loomis
He dated Sydney for a decent amount of time, this isn’t his first rodeo with a “the clothes stay on rule.” Of course, he would never tell you that. Besides, at least he still gets to fuck you even if you do want to keep your shirt on.
Billy is the most likely to have a conversation with you about how he can make you feel more comfortable. He may be a psychopath but he really can be loving and considerate towards the people he really cares about.
He’s not going to pretend like he doesn’t want to see you completely naked. He’s a smooth talker so you can bet that he’s going to be flirting and doing his best to convince you to just let him slip your shirt over your head. Like pls, just a quick peak.
If you ever decide to take your shirt off he does nothing but compliment you. Of course those compliments still come with a bit of degrading but if you’re dating Billy you’re used to being called his pretty little slut.
Jesse Cromeans
If you’re going to keep your shirt on he’s going to make sure that it’s some fancy designer shirts. Or better yet, one of his fancy designer shirts that is way to big on you. He would love nothing more to fuck you while you’re wearing one of his shirts.
Understands your insecurity and doesn’t try and push past your boundaries. Jesse has enough fun pushing your physical boundaries during sex. You’re most definitely always sore the next day.
Jesse would love to film you while he pounds into you but if he knows that you’re insecure he’s not going to ask. He doesn’t want you to feel pressured into doing something and knows it’s something you most likely wouldn’t be comfortable doing anyways if you’re insecure. He knows that he would hate for you to pressure him into taking his mask off, so he would never put you in that kind of position.
If you ever feel comfortable enough to take off your shirt he goes out of his way to make sure you’re comfortable the whole time. Jesse will make sure to constantly check in on you and make sure you’re okay with everything.
Asa Emory
He’s the worst one considering that he kidnaps you, so it’s not like you have much of a say in what happens. Whatever Asa wants from you, he’s going to get from you whether it be the easy way or the hard way.
If he cares about you enough to bring you to his home, then he’s more likely to listen when you express your insecurities and discomfort with being completely nude.
But if he decides he wants to see you completely bared to him while your locked up in his hotel then he’s just going to cut your shirt off with that knife of his and that’s that.
At the end of the day, Asa will always be a sadist and thrives off of your fear and embarrassment. It would take a lot for him to listen to your requests since he pretty much views you as nothing more than an exotic pet.

How would candyman, Jason, Michael, and Bubba react to their s/o tripping and falling in front of them and then without a beat saying "I fell for you"? Can I get some hcs for that plss
Hello darling! Thank you for being so patient with me, it's been a ride but here we are, back at it, emptying out the ask box!
This was a super cute idea and right up my alley because this is my type of thing, just being a complete goof when I do something like this. Some of em may not understand the humor but hey, we're here to have fun, right? I do hope you enjoy this, hon! I appreciate you sending this in <3
Tumblr media
Candyman
Daniel was a very relaxed and chill man in general, so he wouldn’t panic or overreact in most situations, not even when you’d hurt yourself. He was always the voice of reason and calmness when you would come to him whenever you were unsure of something or doubting yourself. Even when you end up hurting yourself, he’s the one to take care of you.
So when you decide to check your phone and not pay attention to where you walking, your foot got caught on the rug and you tripped, the yelp from your mouth was so loud and it caught Daniel’s attention as he stood up from his chair, hoping you were alright.
When you looked up at him, you gave him this half-hearted smile and shrugged a bit. “Guess I fell for you, huh?” You laughed at your own joke and stood up, dusting yourself off as if you didn't even let the fall faze you.
Daniel wanted to roll his eyes at your awful joke, but instead he just shook his head and laughed. "You can be too much sometimes, you know that?" He groaned and double checked to make sure you were okay, his worries slowly vanished as you wrapped your arms around him.
Tumblr media
Jason
Jason wasn't one to panic over most things, if not at all, and he's been known to wipe out a few times in his career of slaughtering sexually active teens in his camp, there's nothing to be ashamed of and would still help you to your feet.
So when you had been running across the camp after the winds picked up, chasing after a tarp that was supposed to protect the plants during storms, you fell and skidded across the dirt. It did hurt a little, you weren't going to lie, but Jason saw the whole thing.
You sighed as you looked up at him, a crooked smile on your face as you shook your head. "Hah, guess I fell for you." Too bad Jason did NOT get the joke and he just stared down at you, tilting his head to the side. You figured it would have been lost on him but it was still cute, and you didn't mind it.
Tumblr media
Michael
This man cannot be bothered with stopping to see if you’re okay if you take a tumble, he is dedicated and quite impatient, to say the least. But he will look back to see if you’re at least still alive and make sure that you’re at least able to get back on your feet, but you can always count on Michael not to be too worried about it. Mainly because he believes you’re more than capable of getting back up again, you’re not weak if you’re with him, so that has to count for something.
So when you actually fell in front of Michael this time, you decided to show him that you were more than capable of handling yourself, and you looked up with the funniest look on your face and chuckled. “Guess I fell for you?” It was more of a question to see if he’d even bite, but all he did was lower his head and you saw his shoulders move once as if he had one silent laugh reserved only for himself.
It was a super rare thing to happen but you wouldn't change it, they were special moments, even if you ate dirt from your fall. After that day, he would half expect you to say something ridiculous after tripping or dropping something, so he'd turn his head ever so slightly and wait to see if anything followed. You'd surprise him every so often with a little joke or pun just to see if you could get a rise out of him. Most days it didn't work, but at least you tried.
Tumblr media
Bubba
Bubba is one of those people who may be a killer but he has complicated feelings, he feels a lot of emotion and sometimes it throws him off. So when you were around, he felt many other things, and your sense of humor was something that confused him often, but you wore a smile which meant you were happy, so that’s all he could have asked for. If you would end up falling, hurting yourself, putting yourself in danger? He’d freak out. He wanted you safe even if he had to keep a watchful eye on you as much as he could.
So on a lovely summer day, as you hung out outside behind the house, walking around in the large field near the barn, you were curious what Bubba had been up to. He was replacing the fuel in the tank for the one he normally kept close to him since it was running low, and he hadn’t seen you walking around the barn until he heard your feel shuffling around in the dirt. You spooked him a bit and he jumped, which caused you to shuffle back and you accidentally tripped on your own foot. You landed on the ground with a hard thud and Bubba wanted to panic, running up to you and grunting loudly, his hands waving every which way as he fell to his knees beside you.
When you perked your head up, your hair in your eyes as dirt coated your cheeks, you couldn’t help but giggle as you shook your head, amazed by your own silliness. “Well guess that means I’ve fallen for you, Bubba.” You started to laugh again and Bubba was confused, but you were smiling, laughing even. He knew you were alright and he couldn’t help but sigh with a smile beneath the mask he wore, patting your head. He helped you to your feet and made sure to watch you carefully so he wouldn’t have to see you fall again.

Cinderella girlboss is bad and I think they should make her ND instead of "independent"
Maybe it's my own personal bias as an ND person but I liked Cinderella as a kid because I found her to be naive and kind and weird like me and every adaptation tries to destroy this and the movies get worse. Also Hollywood doesn't have a clue how to adapt queerness on screen. Anyway, here are a few reasons why Cinderella should be adapted to be on the spectrum:
- the step family is always portrayed to be assholes in the most cartoonish way, bullying an orphan girl because she is prettier than them. The abuse would make so much more sense if they had a shop and she would make clients run away by stimming or she would show signs of ADHD by not following orders or literal thinking/bluntness. Like she could say stuff like "I like your big nose" to her sister not realizing people don't like big noses on women and the sister could "attack back". It's a much more realistic instance of bullying and abuse and people might actually question their biases. It's also a huge source of fun that autistic people can enjoy too if done well (e.g. think Onion's autistic reporter Michael Fawn)
- she might be cleaning the house because she desperately needs order and the family didn't bother to tell her she doesn't need to do that. They could even kind of regret it but rationalize it with her "being useful in some way"; another hit to the audience that never thought much about the insanity of autistic inspiration stories
- her talking to animals could be adapted to be "hyper-empathy" as many autistic women are like this and have encyclopedic knowledge on animals; she can sing with perfect pitch to them because she can tell the animals enjoy her voice while others don't see it. This would "girlboss" her in a more fun way than making her a streamstress that's somehow judged for trade (highly historically inaccurate). You can have a musical that feels cohesive with reality and it's not just another musical.
- the relationship with the prince would make sense, as ND people form relationships very fast with one another as we communicate differently. Have them talk about hyperfixations instead of falling for looks. This gives us the ability to make the prince interesting in a myriad of ways, you can have him refusing to go to war because it would be a sensory overload and you can have him mask very well to then drop the mask in private. Maybe the prince made all the princesses run away and they make an insider ball because it's the only possible way for them to have their son married. It would be funny and not offensive to have him completely oblivious to all the flirty social cues.
- Ella could refuse to come to the ball because she doesn't like parties or it doesn't fit her routine. Secretly she wants to go but she doesn't want to embarrass her sisters. Because they don't expect her to go they don't notice her being there or assume it's someone else. Even if they notice her, they will pretend they don't know her as in this version the step family is not evil but rather "desperately wants to be normal".
- a nonbinary fairy god-parent could be attracted to help Ella because she understands how it is to be misunderstood, you can have them meet Ella before and have Ella not question the lack of gender. This sounds better than the good old "oh you are good, they are bad, this is why I give you a night out". The costume choice would also be fun cause Ella could complain about the materials and fit, much better than whatever "yass queen" scene they made
- Ella leaves the ball because she experiences sensory overload. Goes home to feel safe. The prince gives a ridiculously clear description of her looks and voice and this is why they find her. When they meet he can test her with unusual questions or echolalia and the step family is okay with not marrying the weird prince
- in the Disney look it seems like Cinderella has "noise cancelling headphones", of course this could be something she made to hear better and the ball dress could be adapted to fit them
Of course, I'm not petitioning for an autistic disney princess, as I'm working with already existent material that's used horribly every year anyway. I really think Cinderella fits the bill for ND representations more than other Disney princesses (maaaybe also Snow White). The 2010's girlboss craze could be turn into it's head (as people are sick of it) to show complex characters on the skeleton of old stories by looking into mental health, aesthetics, neurodivergence, life philosophy and use of humor that's more than "random". Right now they are losing money by the minute making vaguely poc stars sing about their strong persona and are throwing themes of vulnerability, abuse, social inequality and life purpose found in the original stories right in the bin. They are trying so hard to be feminist they become sexist. Maybe explore themes outside of feminism in women and you'll wake up with better feminist representation when you don't stare so much on the "woman" part of the character and you let the rest shine on it's own
