Note
May I humbly ask about your animatic-making process?
i got you
1. Find an idea
I usually get my ideas from tiktoks or some songs.
I kinda try to fit the song to the character I want in it lmao
2. Download the audio
I’m an android phone user so downloading stuff is really easily.
I usually use YTMP3.com to download my stuff
there is a lot of websites with that link but l usually pick the second or first one
Then insert the audio in Alight Motion. I use Alight Motion a lot since there’s a lot of choices there.
Also I use the APK version so I don’t have to pay for premium features. ALSO THIS IS ON MY PHONE. I use an Ipad to draw….
3. (Optional) Storyboarding
GUYS TBH IN MY ANIMATICS I DON’T STORYBOARD
EVERYTHING IN MY ANIMATICS, I LITERALLY JUST WING IT LMAOOO
The only animatic I did need to storyboard was Floyd’s little minecraft song angst video LMAOOO:
Tumblr media
a lot of people happen to storyboard their animatics so they have a plan but i literally storyboard in my head and if i think it looks good, i just put it in 😭😭😭
I literally have to go on my old tablet to fetch some of my old content here
4. START DRAWING
In my drawing process, it’s kinda easy unless I’m using a bunch of colors.
I also try to change the styles up so you can differeniate the animatics from eachother like how in Jade’s Laufey video, the colors are warm and soon turn pale and cold. And in the To Love a Boy, it’s like pt 2 of Jade’s Laufey video but in MC’s perspective and in which the MC does not return his feelings so the colors aren’t warm as Jade’s perspective.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then in Azul’s Laufey video, the appearance and color palette’s looks very sweet and valentiney since it’s in the MC’s perspective on having a FAT FUCKING CRUSH on Azul
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Epel was the hardest because during that time, I was not that active on TikTok and school took my time so it took a lot of time to gain back the motivation and finish it
Tumblr media
ALSO, i literally draw on my Ipad now and I send the pictures to my phone to edit them so it’s an annoying process since I DON’T WANNA PAY FOR ALIGHT MOTION WHEN I CAN GET IT FOR FREE
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT TOOK ME A YEAR?? My “I Wanna Be a Princess!” MUSIC VIDEO… it’s not animatic but that took like a year to finish because I forgot about it but I did so well on it.
AND YOU CAN TELL HOW LONG IT TOOK BECAUSE THE MC APPEARANCE ALREADY CHANGED
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. Editing
Okay, I’m so happy that I actually got into editing for a bit because my videos would’ve looked so trash bro
LMSOOO but editing animatics aren’t really that hard unless you’re going for a specific transition or movement
I guess the transition that pissed me off the most were the ones in Jade’s Laufey video when it switches from warm to cold and Epel’s MLP video where it switches from silly to dark.
My editing process isn’t that unique. I just insert the song, move the pictures, and done 😭😭😭
6. Touch-ups
Touch-ups include subtitles, effects, filters, etc
I don’t really use filters for my animatics unless i’m going for something
BUT SUBTITLES?? yeah I use them a lot lmao
But also trying to fit the subtitles with the animatic is hard bc IDK WHAT TO GO FOR so i literally pull them out my ass
7. Post
I don’t do much about posting or what to say with my animatics
i just post them

Unknown time – late evening
Twenty-four hours after their leap of face in the water in order to escape from the FBI and the U.S Army, Connor and Charlie found themselves seeking refuge with the people of Jericho and their leader, Markus along with his close circle, in an old, abandoned church of Detroit. Charlie had no knowledge of this place and in other circumstances, she might have found it beautiful even in the ruined state it was in but right now, there wasn’t much time for monuments contemplation. A heavy silence was hanging over their heads like some sword of Damocles and the tension made Charlie rather uncomfortable. She felt out of place, shivering from the cold. Her clothes hadn’t really dried yet and she could feel the wetness and coldness of the fabric on her skin and her socks in her boots. She didn’t really regret joining Connor on this mission, but she was kind of remorseful of her father whom she had left with no news, thinking about how worried sick he must be right now, not knowing what had happened to her. She felt bad for leaving him in the dark, but she didn’t really had time to take her phone with her and even if she had, it would have died after being submerged in such freezing water. Another not so funny thought was how bad she was going to be sick in the next days.
Connor had his arms crossed as he leaned in a corner of the church, Charlie sitting in the shadow of the chancel on which Markus had been sitting and reflecting for a while now. The deviants’ leader eventually stood up, with this grave and stern look on his face and he walked around the church, saying a word to some of the refugees present, talking to the female deviant with the little girl; the very same Connor and Charlie tried to catch a few days ago and he went to chat with the people in his close circle, the ones called North, Josh and Simon, as Charlie had heard on the boat that was Jericho, before it got raided and then blown up, left to sink and rot even more than it already was. After a few minutes, Markus stepped towards Connor and Charlie. The latter stood up slowly, staring at him, not really sure what he was gonna do to them, and to her, as she was a human being, one of the people that oppressed them so harshly. She really hoped he would show himself to be merciful towards her, and Connor and not just shoot them right on the spot.
“It’s my fault the humans managed to locate Jericho… I was stupid… I should’ve guessed they were using me. He was looking down at the ground in shame, upset. Markus listened silently, staring at him while Connor didn’t dare make eye contact at first but then, he straightened up and took a step towards him. Charlie didn’t move and watched them. “I’m sorry, Markus… I can understand if you decide not to trust me… but please, don’t hurt Charlie, if you’re to kill me here, just let her go…”
Markus glanced at Charlie for a second, “I won’t kill you. You’re one of us, now. Your place is with your people. She betrayed her own people by choosing to side with us. She can stay here, for now.” As he was about to walk away, Connor spoke up.
“There are thousands of androids at the Cyberife assembly plant. If we could wake them up, they might join us and shift the balance of power…” At Connor’s wild suggestion, Markus frowned slightly and came back towards him.
“You wanna infiltrate the CyberLifer Tower?” He shook his head, thinking about it. “Connor, that’s suicide…”
“They trust me, they’ll let me in. If anyone has a chance of infiltrating CyberLife, it’s me.” He assured confidently.
“If you go there, they will kill you.” Markus argued.
“There’s a high probability… but statistically speaking, there’s always a chance for unlikely events to take place…”
“Be careful…” He solemnly said, squeezing his shoulder in a friendly and supportive way before leaving him and Charlie and walking back on the chancel, facing the whole of the remaining Jericho population.
“I’ll come with you. I can say I’ve been sent with you since we’ve worked together on this investigation. I’m a human. They won’t kill me. They have no idea it was me on that boat… They probably think I was an android so…”
“It’s dangerous, Charlie…”
“Yeah, well, I’ve stuck with you so far… we can partner up a little while longer.” She shrugged and a soft smile rose on his face before Markus’ voice caught their attention, cutting their friendly exchange short as the latter gave his speech to the androids. What he was about to say was going to use would sceal the rest of the events yet to happen. Every single android here had stood up, listening carefully to his every words.
“Humans have decided to exterminate us… Our people are packed in camps right now, being destroyed… Time has come to make a choice, one that very well may determine the future of our people.” He paused for a second, looking around. “I know... I know you’re all angry. And I know you wanna fight back... But I assure you violence is not the answer here. We are gonna tell them peacefully that we want justice. If there’s any humanity in them, they will listen. And if not, others will take our place and continue this fight. Are you ready to follow me?”
“Markus! Markus! Markus!” The androids cheered, loudly chanting his name. Charlie realy felt like she was witnessing a piece of history unfold before her eyes and she realized how awfully close and similar all this deviants’ situation was to some dark times of humanity’s history. She found it hard to understand howher people had still not made the connection by now.

10:48 PM
While the protests led by Markus had started in Hart Plaza a couple hours after Connor and Charlie left the premises, the two had gotten cleaned up and formally dressed, he wore his android uniform while she wore her officer's one, ready to accomplish this last mission they had given themselves. Once again, Connor tried to talk Charlie out of it. He was already unsure that they were going to let him pass so he was even more concerned for her safety but as she said before, she felt like she had gone too far to leave him now. She wanted to see it through, with him. And at the same time, she couldn’t let herself be killed. She couldn’t do this to her father. She gulped as the driverless taxi they were in approached the tower’s gate. Many soldiers were posted there, drones flying above their heads. They glanced at each other as a soldier came up to Connor’s window. The latter rolled down and he adopted a machine-like behavior as he announced his model’s number and name. Charlie then declined her identity, showing her name on the front of her uniform jacket.
“We’re expected.” He added, staring ahead of him with a blank stare. The soldier stood there in silence probably scanning them to check their identities or something and he stepped away from the car. The window rolled back up and they were let in. Charlie let out a sigh of relief after almost completely holding her breath for the past minute. Passing the gate was a first step, and they successfully did it, hoping no one was waiting to arrest of kill them inside. When the car parked in front of the tower’s entrance, she adjusted her jacket and then her uniform’s cap and they stepped out of the vehicle and walked past two guards standing outside. The doors slid at their approach and three more soldiers were expecting them. Charlie kept a confident face, pretending she wasn’t at all impressed and worried this whole operation would fail which it would if she stopped acting like she knew what she was doing. Act confident and people will think you are that was what she was repeating to herself.
“Follow me. We’ll escort you.” One guard told them, and Charlie tried not to look at Connor, letting him speak, keeping a low profile and therefore, keeping the guards’ attention and suspicion off of her. As long as no one questioned her presence outloud, everything would be fine.
“Thanks… but we know where to go.”
“Maybe, but I have my orders.” He retorted as he turned his back to them, leading them across the entrance hall. Connor and Charlie silently followed him, glancing at each other from the corner of their eyes. For now, it was going quite as planned. No one had been shot. As they approached the door, a sot of magnetic field shone around them, and a robot voice announced their identities as they stepped through it. Something caught Charlie’s attention and she noticed a somewhat imperciptible red trail after Connor. He didn’t notice but neither did the other guards because no one did or said anything but there was no doubt it happened because Connor became a deviant. But no one other than them two was to know that piece of information. As they traversed the tower, Charlie looked up. The ceiling height was dizzying, and a huge and imposing humanoid statue stood in the center. The guard leading them through the place sometimes glanced at them as he walked, and they walked to an elevator. He let them enter and another agent entered the elevator.
“Agent 54. Level 31.” After getting validation, the elevator’s doors closed and it started going up but both Connor and Charlie turned their head to their right, looking at the list of floors on the wall. They weren’t to go to level 31. It wasn’t where all the androids were stored. They had to do go down, not up. Their destination was level -49, but they had to find a way to re route the elevator before they reached the upper floors. Charlie took a step back, standing in the back corner of the elevator. After a second, the red light of the camera turned off and Connor threw himself at the guard on their left, kicking agent 54. He grabbed his gun and turned to him, punching him before the other agent jumped at him, trying to get ahold of him but Connor freed struggled and freed himself from his grip, shooting him in the head. Charlie stared at his body crashing onto the floor while Connor eliminated the other guard and stood up. She watched him walk up to the control panel and he took agent 54’s voice and the elevator started going down. Whatever was on level 31 was nothing good for them and they surely avoided an awful fate for Connor. Charlie wouldn’t have been killed but she would have had much trouble for her involvement with the deviants and the fact that she used her job title to help a compromised android that was supposedly THE deviants’ hunter he was made to be. She had no desire to lose her job because of this but if so, she would bounce back. She was young, and qualified for a plethora of jobs.
But failing wasn’t the plan. The elevator stopped once they reached the lowest floor of the whole CyberLife Tower, and she didn’t hide her shock when she finally saw these thousands of androids that Connor told Markus about. There were so many of the same model all over the warehouse and they were standing in lines, so very still, it was quite baffling. Charlie looked around while Connor took a few steps, deactivating the skin on his hand and as he went to grab an android’s arm in order to wake them up, a familiar voice caught their attention and they saw Hank being pushed out of the androids’ crowd by another Connor. Charlie got instantly worried when she realized the RK800 was holding her father at gunpoint, and she stared at them.
“Easy fucking piece of shit!...” He swore and his gaze met Charlie’s for a second. For a brief instant when he didn’t think of the gun pointed at his head, he showed relief at seeing his daughter after two days.
“Step back, Connor!” The android ordered. “And I’ll spare him.”
“Sorry, Connor… This bastard’s your spittin’ image…” This comment let them think Hank had been tricked by the fake Connor into coming to the tower. Charlie stayed where she was, her gaze often shifting from Connor to the other RK800 and her father, and vice versa. She feared he would pull the trigger and she would witness her father get his head blown out, and the very thought of this was already making her sick to her stomach.
“Your friend’s life is in your hands. Now it’s time to decide what matters most! Him… or the revolution.”
“Don’t listen to him. Everything this fucker says is a lie!” Hank retorted, not letting fear show. Connor stared at them, still holding the android’s arm.
“I’m sorry, Hank! Charlie and you shouldn’t have got mixed up in all this!”
“Forget about me, do what you have to do!”
“I used to be just like you.” Connor then added, choosing to keep trying to talk the other Connor out of it so he would simply lower his gun and just stop, and Charli was glad that he wouldn’t let her father get sacrificed for this whole thing, also meaning she wouldn’t have to watch him get murdered in front of her eyes. Hank tried to give a reassuring look to his daughter but even he wasn’t reassured about the outcome and she coud feel it. She was anxiously praying he wouldn’t get harmed. “I thought nothing mattered except the mission… But then one day I understood. These humans showed me that I could be something else… That I could be someone!”
“Very moving, Connor… But I’m not a deviant. I’m a machine designed to accomplish a task, and that’s exactly what I am going to do!” He stated fiercely, tightening his grip on the gun when he suddenly shouted. “Enough talk! It’s time to decide who you really are. Are you gonna save your partner’s life? Or are you going to sacrifice him?”
“All right, all right! You win.” Connor eventually stepped away from the android he tried to convert, showing his hands to the RK800. When the other android went to aim its gun at Connor, Hank tried to get a hold of it but got pushed aside and fell to the ground. Charlie rushed at her father, helping him up while the two RK800 fought each other until Hank grabbed the gun lying on the floor and put a stop to their brawl, holding them at gunpoint. The two had gotten mixed up with each other in the altercations and because they had the exact same physical appearance, both Hank and Charlie were actively trying to fing which of them was their friend.
“Hold it!” The two Connors stood up slowly.
“Thanks, Hank. I don’t how I’d have managed without you...” One spoke and Charlie stared at him. She thought that it was a strange way for him to talk, while the other kept quiet. “Get rid of him, we have no time to lose.”
“It’s me, Hank!” The other said, raising his eyebrows. “I’m the real Connor.”
“One of you is my partner… the other is a sack of shit. Question is, who is who?” While they tried to sort it out, Charlie didn’t know what to think or where to look. As her gaze brushed over their jackets, she noticed a tiny difference in their serial numbers, but she was still not sure which of them was the actual Connor. It didn’t really help as she tried to remember what was the last number Connor said to the guard when they had arrived at the CyberLife Tower’s gate. She was frowning, and then came to the conclusion that it was definitely not -60 but as she wasn’t totally convinced about her theory, she stayed alert, watching them carefully.
“Why don’t you ask us something? Something only the real Connor would know.”
“Uh, where did we first meet?”
“Jimmy’s bar!” Connor -60 said instantly. “I checked four other bars before I found you. We went to the scene of a homicide. The victim’s name was Carlos Ortiz.”
“What’s my dog’s name?” Hank went on to ask the other Connor.
“Sumo. His name is Sumo.” There was something almost desperate in the tone of his voice and how he replied to the question asked. Charlie stepped towards him, staring at him while the other android assured, he knew it too. She started to think that if the fake Connor had uploaded their partner’s memory, he would of course remember everything just the same, so they really had to ask something specific hoping it would help them figure it out, but she was more and more sure that Connor -60 wasn’t their friend.
“My son, what’s his name?”
“His name was Cole.” Connor said calmly, with a soft voice, not taking his eyes off Hank as he responded. Charlie knew at the way he was answering that they had find their Connor, and therefore her theory regarding the serial number was right. “And he just turned six at the time of the accident… It wasn’t your fault, Lieutenant. A truck skidded on a sheet of ice and your car rolled over.” Charlie gulped silently, trying not to flinch as she had memories of the accident flashing before her eyes, with the deafening honk of the truck. “Charlie was severely injured so they put her in a medically induced coma but Cole needed emergency surgery, but no human was available to do it… So, an android had to take care of him… Cole didn’t make it. That’s why you hate androids. You think one of us is responsible for your son’s death… your brother’s.” He added, glancing at Charlie beside her father.
“Cole died because a human surgeon was too high on red ice to operate… He was the one that took my son from me. Him and this world, where the only way people can find comfort is with a fistful of powder…”
“I knew about your son too! I would have said the exact same thing.” Connor -60 declared urgently, still trying to trick them. Charlie gave it a death stare and slowly took the gun from her father’s hands, wanting to shoot it herself. He let her take it, silently watching her walk towards it as the android tried to speak its way out of it until she shot it in the head a second later and looked at his gaze going blank, the blue blood staining its head.
“I’ve learned a lot since I met you, Connor.” Hank spoke and Charlie raised her head, looking at him and Connor. “Maybe there’s something to this… Maybe you really are alive. Maybe you’ll be the ones to make the world a better place… Go ahead and do what you gotta do.”
While Connor walked around, converting a bunch of the androids in the storage warehouse, Charlie turned to her father, putting the gun down to free her hand as her father draws her into a hug, holding her tight in his arms. They had not seen each other for two days and she could feel in his embrace that she had been completely right to think he must have been worried sick about her having died or gotten hurt and not knowing it. That past week had been a hell of a time with everything that happened with the deviants. They thought it would be a simple investigation, having to partner up with something they hated but they ended up befriending it, considering him their friend and equal. She saw the deviants first hand when she was among the people of Jericho and even though Markus could have been angry and bitter and killed her for what her people did to his, he didn’t. It was a proof of humanity in itself already.
The thousands of deviants converted and freed from the CyberLife Tower by Connor could be seen marching in the city of Detroit on TV, filmed by the news channels seated in helicopters above the scene while President Warren delivered a speech about what was going on.
“At dawn today, November 11th, 2038, thousands of androids invaded the city of Detroit. According to our sources, they originated from CyberLife warehouses believed to have been infiltrated by deviants. Given their overwhelming numbers and the risk of civilian casualties, I have ordered the army to retreat. The evacuation of the city is underway at this very moment. In the coming hours, I will address the Senate to determine our response to this unprecedented situation. I know that public opinion has been moved by the deviants’ cause. Perhaps the time has come for us to consider the possibility that androids are a nes form of intelligent life. One thing is certain: the events in Detroit have changed the world forever. May God bless you and may God bless the United States of America.”
Neither Hank nor Charlie had evacuated the city. They weren’t going to and stayed at Hank’s house, watching the news. The world had indeed never seen such a thing happen with artificial intellligences waking up and things going this way but leaving aside the fact that it was androids, that kind of revolution and insurgence in the face of oppression had already happened. It wasn’t the first-time history had seen it, and certainly wouldn’t be the last. History had an awful tendency to repeat itself without learning from its mistakes, ever. The next day, very early in the morning, Hank and Charlie went to the closed fast food stand her father often came to. They stood there in the cold, looking down the empty street until they heard steps coming their way, crushing the snow carpeting the sidewalk. Connor walked towards them and the three of them smiled to each other, happy to meet again after the protests. Hank then drew the two of them into a hug and it really felt like such an emotional family reunion. Hank found somewhat of a substitute son in Connor, and Charlie, a brother. Little did they ever thought they would get this close to an android one day.
[The end…]

N.B: I wanted to write an alternate (more sci-fi) kinda ending but I’m too lazy so here is a little summary of what I had in mind. At some point, Charlie get mortally wounded, to the point that her human body is going into shut down AKA death lol so the only option they think of, and have, is transferring her mind and everything into an android that would take her likeness etc and voilà. One of my first drafts that I made a couple years ago was supposed to have this as its actual ending and it was called Becoming Android :)

pairing: steve rogers x reader
summary: sometimes, you just have to share the bed.
word count: 2.4k
warnings: fluff, sharing a bed, idiots in love, cheesy
a/n: this is really just an excuse for me to write a lot of self indulgent bants, but it’s also a part of @stargazingfangirl18’s soft!dark challenge, and i decided to write something soft and use the prompt of only having one bed! (p.s. i like did not edit this at all so if a few words are used a lot pls forgive me)
Dinner at the safehouse was finally wrapping up after a long day of getting your ass beat by an angry android and a few enhanced teenagers. You and everyone else around you seemed to be more than exhausted from the extensive day of revisiting deeply repressed traumas, and petty arguments between teammates over who was truly at fault for every predicament you found yourselves in.
You took a long and final swig from a beer bottle, glancing up to Bruce and Nat as they stood up and pushed in their chairs, retiring for the night.
“Thanks for hosting us, Laura,” Natasha offered, grabbing her plate from the dinner table, and dropping it off in the dishwasher.
“Of course, guys. Any time,” she gave a half smile to her friend, then looked back at the table, where everyone else had taken the memo, and found themselves somewhere in the process of leaving the table, or grabbing their dishes, “but before you all go, I wanted to warn you that someone else is gonna have to share a room tonight.”
You glanced over at Steve, who was on your left, and Tony, who was sat at the head of the table. You and Steve shared an awkward chuckle at the thought of being in the same bed, not even considering the similarly uncomfortable situation of sharing a bed with Tony.
“I think I’ll be rooming alone. These two lovebirds can share,” Tony chided before either of you even had a chance to think of a response. You looked back over at Steve, whose cheeks were currently dusted with a light shade of pink, and the bigger man quickly looked away from you.
“Tony, you know we are not- you know what, nevermind,” you huffed, deciding the argument was not worth it.
Tony shook his head as he dropped his dishes off in the dishwasher. “So no objections?” he asked teasingly, eyeing you both with a smirk on his way back from the kitchen. “Why am I not surprised?” You could’ve sworn you heard Clint and Fury laughing to themselves before excusing themselves from the table, and dispursting though the house.
Besides the slight humiliation of being teased for your situation, you weren’t too concerned about the act of spending the night, or next few nights with Steve. You and Steve were friends, or something like that. Just a few pals with crushes that you refused to admit to each other (or yourselves).
Pushing this thought aside, you grabbed the neck of your empty beer bottle, along with a few pieces of silverware and marched off to the mechanical cleaner yourself. You dropped off the things that needed to be cleaned, tossed your bottle in the recycling bin, then went to turn away when Steve grabbed your arm, automatically catching your attention.
“Is this okay with you?” He asked, letting his vice grip on your arm go.
“It’s fine. I’ll see you upstairs,” you muttered before speeding off, and heading upstairs where you strolled into the only vacant room, with the door wide open, and both your own and Steve’s duffle bags on the floor.
You made a mental note to thank whoever brought them in (probably Laura), and dug through your bag to find something even slightly comfortable to sleep in, eventually settling on an oversized shirt and your favorite cotton shorts.
You had just barely finished changing in the tiny closet when you heard the soft click of the room door, notifying you of Steve’s arrival. You slid open the closet door, and made a beeline for the bed, flopping onto the left side, and reaching for your phone as a distraction.
“Do you want me to sleep on the floor?” Steve asked, searching through his own bag until he found the only clean comfortable pair of pants he had in there, that just happened to be a jokey Christmas gift donned with a red white and blue color scheme, and graphics of mini shields on it.
“What the hell, Steve. Of course not,” you set your phone down so that you could get a better look at him. “We probably have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.” You could live with that excuse, especially considering that it would not be very becoming of you to tell your crush that missing an opportunity to sleep in the same bed as him feels like a federal crime.
He stood up from his squatting position, squeezing into the tight space of the closet so that he could change into the corny pants, and finally get out of his clothes from the day, “I just didn’t want to make things weird.”
“Well, they won’t be as long as you stay on your side, okay?” You said petulantly, setting two pillows across the middle of the queen sized bed and attempting to ignore the excited butterflies in your stomach.
“I will,” Steve responded, exiting the closet slipping into the right side of the bed cautiously, and looking at the wall that was facing him.
You glanced over at Steve, and when you caught wind of his shirtless torso, you couldn’t help but to look away with a warm face,“this is so awkward now,” you said after a beat. “Why couldn’t you have roomed with Tony?”
“Tony is the worst bed mate ever. Total blanket and pillow hog,” Steve chuckled, attempting to ease up some of the tension.
“You’re no saint either. I’ve heard you’re a cuddler,” you bantered back, allowing yourself one more glance at the man. Steve seemed to be having the same thought as you at the same time as you, as your eyes briefly met.
It was uncomfortably silent in the room once more, and you reached over to your nightstand to turn off the bedside lamp, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
“Night, Steve,” you turned your back to the border of pillows, fell into a fetal position, and squeezed your eyes shut, hoping that you’d be able to find some sort of peace after such a bizarre day. You tried not to dwell so much on the horrors you’d been forced to face earlier, and instead relied on the rhythmic breathing coming from the man next to you to ground you.
----
You weren’t sure when exactly you fell asleep, but a jolting of your bed, and a bit of a commotion coming from somewhere in your room pulled you away from your unsettling dreams.
Blinking yourself awake, you uncurled your body, and rolled over to look at Steve, whose legs were thrown over the edge of the bed while he panted heavily.
“Steve?” you slurred sleepily, “you ‘kay?”
“’m fine,” he yawned.
“Well you woke me up,” you mumbled, throwing your head back against a pillow.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I was having a shitty dream anyway.”
“Really? I was too,” Steve refused to look at you, staring blankly at the wall.
“So tell me about it,” you hummed.
“It’s just… I keep thinking about how I missed out on so many things from the past. I could’ve been happy, living out my days in a semi-peaceful and familiar world. Not anything like this.”
You sat up as you listened, pushing aside a pillow from the border you’d constructed to move closer to Steve and set a reassuring hand on his back.
“I guess I just wish that I was there. With everyone and everything I used to know.”
“But it’s not all bad, right?” you offered, and Steve shrugged before looking down.
“I’m sorry. I really am. I know that I’ll never truly understand that, but there’s nothing any of us can do about it now. You’re here now, and you have no other choice but to make the best of it. I know you probably don’t want to hear this, but if you spend all of your time in the present lamenting about what things could’ve been in the past, you’re just gonna be miserable forever,” you rambled sleepily, words slurring occasionally.
“Your experience is so unique, so I could be getting this all wrong, but there are plenty of good things here in the now. I mean, a world without the internet? I don’t know if that’s a world worth living in,” you chuckled softly, and were joined in your quiet laughter by the man on the other side of your bed.
“Seriously, though. I know you can’t control your dreams, but maybe your subconscious is letting you know that it’s okay to let go. Of like, the past. It might just be time for you to move on and be happy. I’m sure that Peggy and everyone else from your past would’ve wanted that for you too.” In the dark, you saw the silhouette of Steve’s head nodding.
“You always know what to say, huh?” he asked, kicking his legs back over onto the bed while you scooted back over into your previous space.
“I’m like half asleep right now, Steve. If you asked me to repeat half of what I just said, I would not know what to say,” you giggled.
“You wanna talk about your dream?” Steve asked in a concerned tone.
“Mmm, I actually just wanna go to sleep. As crazy as that may sound,”
“Is there anything that I can do to help you not have another bad one?”
“Hmmm,” you pondered, becoming a bit more lethargic by the moment. “Spoon me?”
“As you wish,” Steve happily obliged, grabbing one of the pillows from the middle of the bed and adding it to his stash of pillows.
You threw a pillow from the border between your knees, and received a strange look from Steve. “What? I heard it’s good for your back.” He still didn’t seem convinced. “Stop being so judgy and cuddle me already,” you murmured, turning your body so that you could lay on your side.
Steve scooted closer to you, and you pressed your back to the front of his chest. He tossed an arm over you and somehow managed to pull you even closer to him. You swore you hadn’t been this comfortable since you left the womb, and you nearly purred in response.
“Can I make a request?” he asked.
You simply nodded.
“Can we just… talk until we fall back asleep?”
“That’s really cute,” you mumbled into your pillow.
“You just have a relaxing voice!” he defended playfully.
“You are such a dork,” you giggled. “What do you want to talk about?”
“Just tell me about… I dunno, anything.”
“That was so helpful, Steven.”
“My bad. Tell me about your favorite… mission?”
“Mm, probably that one time you and I had to go undercover for like a month to bust that arms dealer.”
“Which one?”
“Some dude in the Midwest. Can’t remember his name.”
“Oh yeah, yeah I know who you’re talking about.”
“It was fun being your life partner for a month. We were really good at being domestic.”
“Hmm, now that I think about it, we really were. Do you remember that cookout?”
“Of course I do,” you laughed at the memory. “Everyone else was getting so drunk, but you just… couldn’t. They were like Joseph, you’re such a beast, and shit. And who would’ve guessed that you, the old timer would be such a beast on the grill.”
“Well, who would’ve guessed that you were so good at cornhole?”
“Was I really that good? Or were you just really bad? Like really bad, especially for someone whose skill set revolves around having good aim,” you teased.
Steve scoffed and laughed, shaking his head at you.
“How didn’t those people recognize us? I just don’t get it.”
“You’d be surprised how much a beard and dyed hair can change your look.”
“I guess,” you sighed softly, and set a hand on top of Steve’s. “Does this feel counterproductive to you? We’re just sitting here giggling. We’re probably getting less tired.”
“I guess I am less tired. But I’m also not thinking about the impending robot apocalypse.”
“Well now that you brought it up, I’m thinking about the impending robot apocalypse. You better fix this, Rogers.” Emboldened by what must’ve been the butterflies in your stomach falling asleep, you began to roll a bit in his arms so you were facing each other, kicking away the pillow between your legs in the process.
“How can I make it up to you?” Steve asked, raising a brow.
“You’re the man with a plan, right? Think of something,” your lip quirked slightly in a smirk.
Steve leaned in just the smallest amount, before a lightbulb seemed to go off in his head. “I got it. We can do one of those one word stories until we fall asleep.”
Well, that’s not exactly how you thought this moment was going to go.
“Okay, I’ll start then,” you nodded, pressing your head down against a soft pillow, and looking up at Steve, “once.”
“There,” Steve added.
“Was.”
“A.”
“Death-bot,” you giggled.
“Okay, Y/N. No. No more stories. We can just listen to each other breathe now until we fall asleep like before since you wanna ruin the mood.”
“What mood? And you listened to me breathe?”
“What else was I gonna listen to?” he furrowed his brows, “it’s too late for this anyway. We can talk in the morning.”
“All you had to do was tell me that it’s way past your bedtime, and I would be understanding. But goodnight anyway, Stevie,” you cracked him one last smile, not budging from your position as you closed your eyes.
It was silent for a few minutes before Steve whispered up out of the blue, “you still awake?”
You slurred something into the pillow, much more asleep than awake.
“Well, I really like you a lot. Maybe one day I’ll get the guts to tell you that when you’re not completely out of it.”
You grunted as a response, and Steve couldn’t seem to wipe the grin off his face, not while he was falling asleep, and certainly not during his rather pleasant dreams.
——
You just couldn’t seem to catch a break with your wake up calls. While you and Steve seemed to sleep through the rapping against the door, and the door itself opening, you both seemed to become aware after the artificial shutter of an iPhone camera flooded through your ears.
“You guys just looked so cute, I wanted to archive this moment for the rest of time. And I’m sure the team will be glad to see that you got along well last night,” Nat teased as your eyes widened and you shot up. “Breakfast is ready downstairs, by the way.”
Well, you two were going to have a great time explaining this one.

ON THE EDGE ~ Pt. 11 (The End)
A/N: This is the end of this wild ride. I hope you like it. Stay tuned, more to come...
Characters: Gavin Reed x fem!Reader
Warnings: angst, fluff
Words: 1.171
The next morning, Gavin awoke as it was still dark outside. He looked around but the bed was empty, “Yn?”, Gavin asked, whispering. As he got no answer, he walked around through his apartment to search for her. In the end, he found her in the kitchen talking with someone on the phone, dressed just in his shirt and walking up and down.
“Okay. Yeah. Thanks again.”, she said, answering to the person on the phone and smiled as she felt how Gavin snaked his arms around her from behind.
“Who was that?”, Gavin asked softly with his lips on her ear as she hung up.
With a grin on her lips and goosebumps on her body, she answered: “Fowler.”
“Hell.. where do we have to go?”, he asked, leaning with his forehead on her shoulder.
Yn turned around in his arms and smiled softly, cupping his face with her hands, “Back to bed I would say. There are still some shadows under your eyes.”
Surprised, Gavin looked at her, “But Fowler... wasn't that a new case?”
“No. Actually, he called because I'm off the hook because of the lawsuit. The drug boss has nothing against me. And… Fowler gave us the day off. Because of our good work in that case.”, yn said grinning.
“Do you think he knows about us already?”
Yn stepped away from Gavin and took his hand in hers, “Who knows. But I guess so. He knows a lot of things. So, come on.”, she guided him back to bed. And Gavin followed more than willingly.
**
"Connor?", Hank tried for the third time to get his partner’s attention. Connor was distracted since he saw yn and Gavin entering the DPD.
“Hey, are you good?”, Hank asked more concerned.
Finally, Connor looked at Hank, “Yeah... I- I'm fine. But I still don't know what she sees in him.”
“Sometimes you cannot explain love.”, Hank explained.
Connor looked doubtfully, “But him?”
In surrender, Hank raised his hands, “Don't ask me.”
Once again, Connor looked over to yn who laughed about something Gavin had said, “They look happy, tho.”
“Yeah. I'm happy for them.”, Hank said and meant it. He could understand Connor’s doubts because of Gavin but he was happy to see yn in such a love-filled state.
Slowly, Connor nodded, “Yeah... Me too.”, and he meant it, as well. To see yn happy made him also happy. He was glad to call her his friend.
As yn noticed glances on her, she looked around and met Connor’s eyes. She nodded to him and Hank as a greeting. As Gavin was about to get some coffee, yn decided to go to her colleagues for a bit of smalltalk. It was just some back and forth as a turmoil caught their attention.
“Oh, fuck! I'm so sorry, Detective Reed.”, an officer said.
Connor, Hank and yn looked into the direction of the turmoil just to see how a young officer, the one from the first time a few days earlier, collected his stuff from the ground after he had bumped into Gavin. Again. All three stared at the scene and waited for Gavin's outburst.
But nothing happened...
"Just watch it next time.", Gavin said low, he wasn’t amused but he also wasn’t angry. Without another word, Gavin Reed just walked to his desk.
“That was unexpected.”, Connor said, frowning about the unusual behaviour.
Hank frowned and watched the scene surprised, “He seems calmer. What have you done? There must be a trick.”, he asked and looked amused at yn.
Surprised, she still looked at Gavin who sat back at his desk liek nothing had happened, “Well...we had sex. Maybe that's the reason.”, she answered, grinning as she saw Hank's expression.
“Whoa! Too much information!”, the older man called out.
“You asked.”, she fired back.
“True.”, Hank had to admit and knew he shouldn’t have done that.
**
“Can we go?”, Gavin asked at the end of the day and offered yn her jacket.
She took it slowly, “Just one moment.”, she said low with a grin on her face.
Gavin was confused, “Why? What's the matter?”
Yn pointed out to Connor. A young woman approached the android. Connor turned over and stood up. They were talking.
“Who's that?”, Gavin asked as he saw yn’s huge smile.
“She’s one of our new recruits. I saw her staring at Connor for a while, so I suggested she should talk with him.”, yn said with a soft smile about the fact that her plan had worked out. Connor seemed to like the small woman and she was convinced they would make a great couple but that was nothing that should concern her.
***
Four weeks later…
“Yn! Hey, yn wake up.”, Gavin called out, knelt down and tried to wake her up as she laid in his arms. Her blood was covering his hands and shirt after the two shots and she was barely responding to him but Gavin tried and tried it again until the ambulance would be there, “Come on, yn. You can’t leave me, do you hear me? Wake up, god damnit! I need you. I need you in my life. You're the only one who keeps me stable.”, Gavin called desperately out with tears in his voice.
Violently breathing, gasping for air, Gavin shot up from the dream that haunted him so many nights. He was drenched in his own sweat. As he looked at the clock it was three in the morning. Again.
“Hey, that dream again?”, Yn asked sleepy and put her hand softly on Gavin's damp skin.
“Yeah…”, he turned to her, still with a racing heartbeat.
“Come here.”, yn whispered and opened her arms. Gavin snuggled against her. His head layed on her chest so he could listen to her steady heartbeat to calm himself. He snaked his arms around her body and relaxed as he felt her weight against him.
Yn raked her fingers slowly through his brown, tousled strands to soothe him, “Why three o’clock? It’s always the same time you seem to have this dream.”, she asked softly.
“It was the time where you came out of the surgery.”, Gavin breathed, kissing her skin softly.
“You slept longer than the other nights before where you had this dream.”, yn stated, “You're improving.”, she said and was glad about the improvement he seemed to make even if it was very slow.
"That’s because you're here.", Gavin said low and looking up at her.
Yn smiled lovely, looked into his eyes, "Of course, I'm here. I love you, Gavin."
"You… y-you really said…", he stammered, too shocked to finish the sentence properly.
Yn chuckled, "Yes, I said I love you."
"Damn, you're so fucking perfect, yn.", he whispered before he crawled up to her to kiss her deeply. Suddenly, sleep wasn't important for either of the two. Till the sun came up, yn proved it to Gavin how her feelings were for him. Several times, she showed him how much she loved him already.

You glanced at your phone.
It had already been a week in Hawaii with your friends, and Jason still hadn’t texted you.
Well, you should have expected it, really. Jason was a traumatised, mentally ill man who had been locked away for two years.
Of course he wouldn’t text you first.
You had contemplated texting him over the past few days, typing in an array of messages ranging from a simple “hey” to a whole paragraph, and deleting all of it without hitting send. Did he even switch the phone on? Was he surfing the internet? Or was the phone still there on the shelf where you had left it.
It was driving you crazy.
“Do you have a boyfriend we don’t know about?” a voice called.
You looked up and squinted at the man who was standing up, looking down at you. You were sitting on the beach, a little further away from the ocean where your friends were.
“What are you talking about?” you asked as Alex plopped down next to you.
“You’ve been fidgety the whole time,” he pointed out, combing back his dark shoulder length hair with his fingers, getting sand in them. “We’re on a private beach, and you’ve been fussing over your phone. Who are you talking to?”
“No one,” you grumbled truthfully.
“The girls have been gossiping,” he gestured to the two other girls playing in the water. Your closest friends. It was four of you in that inseparable group.
“Of course they have,” you groaned, “Tell them to SAY IT TO MY FACE, COWARDS!”
You shouted at them, earning you grins and middle fingers from the distance.
“They’re saying you’re in love with someone,” he chuckled, “But they always say stupid shit like that without any evidence. But sometimes, a girl’s intuition is just right, ya know?”
“Stop beating around the bush, Alex,” you rolled your eyes at him despite knowing he couldn’t see past your sunglasses. “No, I’m not in love. I’m just waiting for a text that might never come.”
“Why don’t you text him first?”
“Because it’s not as simple as that!” you flailed your arms, “He’s… complicated. I can’t just text him anything.”
“Girl, unless he’s Mr. Nottingham, or related to you, then it really isn’t that complicated,” he joked.
“Ugh,” you groaned again, falling back onto the cloth you spread out. “Fine. I’ll text him.”
“Atta girl,” Alex grinned, “I’m gonna head back in the water. Join us after. Please?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you waved.
Opening the text window for what had to be the thirtieth time, you finally decided to text him.
You: Miss me yet?
Staring intently at the small ‘sent’ below your message bubble, you waited for it to turn to ‘delivered’.
“Yes!” you hissed. It meant that Jason had indeed switched on the phone.
But after twenty minutes you realised that it didn’t matter if Jason switched on the phone if he didn’t want to talk to you. Cursing to yourself, you decided to join your friends in the water, hoping it’ll distract you from checking your phone every five minutes for a text message that might never come.
After an hour of actually spending time with your friends, all four of you returned to the villa, your mood elevated. Checking your phone, you could have jumped for joy when you saw not one, but four consecutive texts in a row.
Jason: Duck off. Jason: What the duck Jason: WHY CANT I SAY DUCK Jason: I DUCKING HATE THIS
You couldn’t let out a string of giggles.
“Oooh, lover boy texted you back, huh?” Alex peeked over your shoulder. “Gimme, I wanna mess with him.”
He snatched your phone from your hands, surprisingly swift and smooth for a civilian, raising it way above his head so you couldn’t reach it and opened the camera.
“Alex-!”
He threw his other arm over your shoulder and pulled you into his bare chest, crushing you before you could tackle him down. He snapped a picture and sent it.
You froze in horror.
“Why the hell did you do that?!” you yelled.
“Relax, I was just messing around,” he gave your phone back to you.
“You don’t- you don’t understand, you fucking asshole!” you screamed.
“I- I’m sorry,” Alex stuttered, surprised by your reaction. “I was just-”
“Fuck off!” you snapped.
Panicking, you saw the little notification below the picture turning from Received to Read.
No. No, no, no, no.
This was bad.
You didn’t want to overwhelm Jason by sending him photos of your activities, thinking that he might react badly to the sudden surplus of familiarity and sense of being close to someone. Now you were worried that he might start to push you away in fear, reverting back to how he was before, and months of progress would have been all for nothing.
He would probably start swearing at you, or worse- switch off the phone and reject any form of communication completely. You hurriedly texted a reply.
You: I’m so sorry! I didn’t send that, my friend was just messing around.
Expecting the worst, you braced yourself for the inevitable. Instead, he sent you:
Jason: Who the hell is that guy?? Jason: Why are you in your underwear??
Your mouth hung open as you stared in shock at the screen. Because you took so long to recover from the shock, he sent you another message.
Jason: ???
Snapping out of it, you texted back.
You: That’s just my friend. Sorry about that! And I’m not in my underwear, it’s a bikini! I’m in Hawaii.
You waited for him to reply, but ten minutes of you sitting anxiously on the turquoise sofa in the middle of the villa listening to the waves of the beach outside from the open doors passed by, and he still hadn’t.
Perhaps he’s busy- wait. There’s no way Jason would be busy. You tried to coax him into a conversation.
You: You can turn off your autocorrect if you want to swear without hassle. Go to your Keyboard settings.
You plopped your phone on the empty seat next to you and dried your hair.
“Ugh, come on!” complained Natalie, fully clothed and washed, walking towards the open concept kitchen from her room. “You’re getting sand everywhere!”
“Woops, my bad,” you grinned.
“There’s a shower outside on the porch for a reason you know,” she flipped her blond beach waves at you, looking through the fridge.
Alex stood quietly at the kitchen island, now scared to say anything.
You rolled your eyes. “Just don’t do it again.”
“Okay, I promise!” he grinned.
Ding.
Jason: fuck. fuck. fucking fuck. Jason: found it. You: Proud of you, man.
You went to your room and showered, then dried off and put on fresh clothes while waiting for Jason to reply.
Of course, he never did.
Groaning, you had to remind yourself that he was not used to human interaction, and texting would come unnaturally to him. Which meant that you had to be the one to keep the conversation going.
You: Do anything interesting since I left?
You saw him typing almost immediately this time.
Jason: no.
Of course not.
You: Have you been eating properly? Jason: yeah.
God, it was so difficult. You were in the middle of typing something when he replied again.
Jason: yoire not my mom Jason: yoire Jason: YOIRE Jason: FUCK WHY CANR I TYPE
You felt guilty for laughing, but you did anyway.
You: Now that you switched off autocorrect, it won’t correct your typos and misspells anymore. Jason: i fucking knw that. Ive been gone for two yeard not twenty. You: Then why do you sound like a grandpa? Jason: BECAISE YOU GAVE ME A FUCKINF IPHONE!! I USED AN ANDROID!!
Now you were really laughing out loud, so you sent him a GIF of a woman rolling her eyes.
Jason: wtf you can send gifs throug text now?? You: Welcome to 2020, my dude. Jason: im not your fucking dude
Typing a reply, Jason interrupted you once again.
Jason: teach me how to do that
Smiling widely, you found that you couldn’t wait for the next week to pass by so you could go back and see him.
***
“How’s Jason?” you asked the minute you reached the Cave computers, panting from the run down.
“Wow, hello to you, too,” Dick chuckled, spinning towards you on the wheeled chair.
It was a Sunday afternoon, and Bruce and Dick were in front of the computers, discussing a case that had connections to Bludhaven Police Department.
Gone for two weeks, you had a lot to catch up on.
“According to Alfred, he’s doing well,” Bruce answered, “Even started to ask for seconds last week. Now Alfred has been making portions for two.”
“He asked? For seconds?” you gasped. “How?”
“He left a note on the tray two days after you left. He’s been making meal requests, too. Texts Alfred in the morning to let him know.”
“Texted?!”
“Alfred slipped his number on the tray in case Jason wanted anything specific.”
“I slipped mine as well, but he hasn’t texted me yet,” Dick pouted.
“When did he start texting?” you ignored Dick.
“Last Sunday.”
So the same day you started texting him, then.
“He hasn’t texted me,” Dick sighed, looking dejected like a kid who was told Disneyland blew up.
“He’ll come around, Dick,” you offered him a smile, “I mean- he’s already texting Alfred!”
“Yeah,” he lamented.
“Okaaay, nice talk. I’m gonna go see him now, bye.”
You ran to the box, but stopped right before you opened the internal door. After checking your hair with your phone camera, you tried to stifle the butterflies in your stomach.
Ugh, you were so fucked.
Taking a deep breath, you knocked on the door.
“Yeah,” Jason’s muffled grunt answered you.
Pushing it open, your eyes immediately went to the bed only to find that he wasn’t lounging around reading a book like you expected. Instead, your mouth dropped open when you saw him on the floor, doing push ups.
Shirtless.
Jason had changed drastically during the two weeks you were gone. You noticed that he had definitely gained weight, as well as muscle mass.
“Uh, wh-what are you..?”
He stood up, and you swore your heart skipped a beat.
His muscles were much more prominent and defined now, and he looked like he was going to achieve Dick’s physique if he kept it up for another month or two.
“Welcome back,” he simply said before taking gulps from a water bottle you definitely had not seen before.
“Thanks,” you walked over and sat on his bed, “I’m glad to see that you decided to start taking care of yourself again.”
“What, this? This isn’t for me.”
“Huh?” you cocked your head in curiosity.
“I… I lost a lot of muscle mass. My body- it isn’t how it used to be,” he frowned, “And I can’t have you lusting over it when it’s not at its peak.”
“What- what do you-?” you stammered, suddenly getting hot.
Jason merely smirked and then continued his push ups.
You watched as his developing muscles rippled, a thin layer of sweat making his skin glisten in the light. It was amazing how he had progressed so much in such a short period of time. You guessed that he must have just been occupying his days by working out.
No wonder he’s been asking for seconds.
“Enjoying the view?” Jason breathed, pausing with his arms straightened, his head angled upwards towards you.
“No, shut up,” you looked away.
“Here, be useful,” he started, “Sit on my back.”
“What?”
“I’ve gotten used to my own body weight, I need extra resistance,” he elaborated, “Come on, sit on my back.”
“But it’s all sweaty,” you whined, pretending to protest. Definitely pretending- for the sake of your own dignity.
You got up and went over towards him anyway.
Carefully, awkwardly, you sat on his back as you would a park bench. You rested your palms flat against his sticky skin to stabilise yourself. Suddenly, he dipped down without warning, earning a soft squeal from you.
“Fuck, you’re heavy,” he strained, but continued to do the push ups. He was shakier, struggling with the weight, and after twenty-five, he paused. “Okay, I think I’m done.”
But before you had the chance to get off him, he suddenly stood up, throwing you off his back to have you fall on the floor on your ass.
“Jason, you assho-” you clapped your hand over your mouth, realising what you had just said.
Oh, no. Oh, fuck.
He stood towering over you, his jaw clenching as he stared you down with his cold, blue eyes.
“I’m so sorry! I forgot! It was a reflex and-”
“Whatever. I don’t care anymore,” he rolled his eyes, reaching for his bottle.
You blinked. Then scrambled to your feet.
“You don’t care anymore?” you repeated slowly.
“I don’t care if you call me that,” he huffed.
That made your heart swell and melt at the same time.
“I got used to your voice,” he mumbled, expression changing as he looked away. He frowned, as if he was angrily staring at a distant object.
You had just guessed that he didn’t like to be called his name because of a sense of familiarity, but now you were thinking that there was much more to that than what you had originally thought.
“So, I can call you… Jason?” you tested.
“Yeah, call me whatever you want,” he sat on his bed, looking up at you.
You smiled, thankful that you had finally crossed that bridge. “You know, I could get some workout stuff for you? Weights, bands, that bar thing that you can put at your door frame for pull ups…”
“You’d like to see that, huh?” he smirked.
“You flatter yourself too much,” you scoffed.
“How was Hawaii?” he changed the subject all of a sudden.
“It was fun. Beach was great, locals were great, loved the vibe- what are you doing?”
Jason had stood back up and started to walk closer and closer to you, getting all up in your space like a predator finally cornering its prey. You kept on taking steps back until your ass hit the edge of the desk.
Nowhere else to run, your heart started hammering. He leaned in, his hands resting on the desk on either side of your body, trapping you against the table and himself. You looked up and gulped. You could almost feel the heat radiating from his bare skin.
“Are you afraid of me?” he muttered lowly.
“Why would I be afraid of you?” you whispered.
“You tell me,” he said.
“Well, I’m not afraid of you,” you stated.
“Oh really?” he raised an eyebrow. Then, you felt his hand grip your wrist tightly, pressing down on your skin with his fingers. “Your pulse is very fast for someone who’s not afraid of me.”
“It’s because you’re all up in my space!” you argued.
“Didn’t look like you mind when your friend,” he snarled the word, “was all up in your space.”
“My friend? What- oh,” you widen your eyes in realisation, “You mean Alex.”
“Is that his name?”
“Alex is just a friend, nothing more. He’s just someone I’m close to,” you reassured him.
Which then made you think about why you were reassuring him.
“Oh, you were definitely close to him,” Jason growled.
“Wait- are you… jealous?” a smile creeped your lips.
He scowled at you for a few moments, and you could see the little tics in his expression that said he was annoyed. The flared nostrils, the muscles of his jaw clenching and unclenching, the very slight twitches at the corner of his left eye.
“No,” he finally said, taking a step back from you. “I’m going to shower. Since you couldn’t stop staring at me, the invitation is still open for you to join.”
“You know, I’m starting to think that maybe I prefer it when you were broody instead of this. Please go back to your depressive mental state,” you sarcastically replied.
Jason barked out an actual laugh. Though his laugh was odd, like someone who’s only now discovering that humans were indeed capable of laughter, you found comfort in it. It was no longer hysterical and devoid of humor. He was getting better, learning to embrace a connection with someone, and it made you extremely happy.
“Maybe I should,” he answered with a cheeky glint in his eye, “Then that way you can give me more sponge baths.”
He left you alone in his room, flushed and at a loss for words.
***
“I find it very odd that people would yell ‘Batman!’ when they realise you’re there,” you rambled while climbing out of the Batmobile.
You were absolutely drenched from the downpour that had been going on all night. It was 4 am on a friday night and you had just returned from patrol.
Bruce took off his cowl immediately, revealing tired eyes despite the relatively slow night.
“It’s like they’re saying ‘Look at me! I’m here! Please knock me out or hang me upside down from the-’ Bruce?”
Bruce had stiffen, staring at something behind you. You turned around and was shocked to see Jason in the mid-distance, sitting on the ground outside the black box that was his room, leaning against the cool metal.
He himself was staring intently at Bruce, not even sparing you a glance.
You looked back and forth between the two men, sensing a high tension silent conversation.
Then, Bruce’s eyes relaxed and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards ever so slightly in that hardly-there-Bruce-smile.
He gave Jason one stiff nod of understanding, then walked away to the computers at the other end of the cave, leaving you alone with his son.
Jason relaxed as you walked over to him, wringing your hair to squeeze out all the excess water.
“Aw, you waited up for me,” you teased, standing in front of him with your hands on your hips, grinning away.
“Fuck off,” he snorted, “I was bored.”
You noticed him clenching his jaw as he looked at you from top to bottom, eyes lingering longer on the ‘R’ on your left breast.
Ah, it was his first time seeing you in your uniform.
His uniform.
Suddenly, you felt like an imposter in those colors and had the strong urge to rip the uniform off.
You wanted to say something, but Jason beat you to it.
“There were times in that shit hole where I wanted to burn that uniform off my skin,” he grit, “Kept on thinking to myself. I wish I never became Robin. I wish I never met Bruce Wayne.”
Your heart shattered at his confession. It was extremely rare for him to bring up anything related to his two year torture, and the previous times were never in such detail.
Realising you needed to say something, you opened your mouth. “I’m so-”
“Don’t,” he cut you off, “You don’t have to say anything.”
Yes, sometimes you knew that he just wanted you to listen.
You nodded silently and went to sit next to him on the floor.
“It… suits you,” he forced out.
“Hmm?”
“The uniform. It suits you. More than it ever suited me,” he grumbled.
“Oh, I don’t know about that. I think your ass would look quite nice in green,” you joked, nudging his shoulder with your own.
He chuckled deeply, nudging you back even harder- hard enough for you to lose your balance and topple sideways, earning another breathy laugh from Jason.
***
Another month passed by, and you found yourself falling deeply for Jason- much to your dismay. You knew Jason wasn’t ready for any kind of intense emotions, and that it would take a very long time before he was.
So you swallowed your emotions down, stifling them and hoping it would go away.
The two of you had developed a pleasant friendship, often bickering and joking around, with Jason teasing you about your obvious physical attraction to him.
He also now occasionally waited outside his cube for you to come back after patrol, never really venturing too far from it, and still avoiding contact with both Bruce and Dick. Only you and Alfred had the privilege to speak to him.
Even then, sometimes you would visit his room but only getting a “I’m not feeling it today. Please leave.”
Understandingly, you would nod silently and leave him alone. You knew he still had his bad days, sometimes not eating his meals.
But mostly, he was getting better, both mentally and physically.
With nothing much to do the whole day, Jason was now obsessed with working out and bulking up. He now had a few simple equipment in his room- mostly weights.
You figured that it was a coping mechanism for him, a healthy outlet to channel all his rage and negative emotions into.
But come on. He was getting even hotter and it was making it extremely difficult for you to stop yourself from checking him out, fantasizing about him when he wasn’t around. Still, you couldn’t complain. Even though he hadn’t reached Dick’s size yet, he was very near to it, and his naturally bigger body frame and build made up for the still developing muscles.
Hell, he was now sporting a six pack.
But you knew that he was still not as well as you hoped he would be. The bloodshot eyes he had was proof that he doesn’t sleep well- and you soon found out why.
It was a little past midnight on your night off from patrol, and you were using your break in the best way you could think of- by sleeping. Something woke you up that night.
A soft knock on your door.
You frowned, eyes still closed, wondering who it was.
Bruce would usually knock twice. Strong, clear, and with purpose. Dick would start pounding rapidly on your door, annoying you intentionally. Alfred would give three soft knocks followed by a ‘Miss?’
Your eyes flew open. There was only one other person in the manor.
Throwing your covers aside, you jumped out of bed and rushed to the door to open it.
Jason stood outside your door in the dim lights of the hallway, frowning and running his fingers nervously through his messy dark hair. He was wearing a t-shirt with boxers, standing awkwardly.
“Jason?” you hated how your voice sounded so sleepy. You cleared your throat. “Are you okay? Would you like to come in?”
He nodded silently, and you made way for him to enter before closing the door behind you.
“Sit on the bed,” you told him while jumping back into yours, sitting up cross legged.
The bed dipped when he sat on it, copying your motion and crossed his legs.
You waited for him to say something, your eyes straining to catch his in the dark. But he just remained silent, staring into space and avoiding your eyes.
“How did you know this was my room?” you asked, starting with a light topic.
“Only one that was locked. I already know where everyone else sleeps,” he explained.
“That’s right,” you realised, “I tend to forget that you’re probably even more familiar with the manor than I am.”
“Did you know there’s an old dumbwaiter in Bruce’s room?” you saw him smirk from the shadows that was casted on his face, “I used to hide in there, waiting to catch him off guard.”
“What? Why?”
“Dick and I, we had a bet,” he recalled the memory, “Whoever gets to surprise Bruce first would owe the other a special favor. Only rule was that we had to have it on video as proof.”
You appreciated that moment, the first time he ever spoke about both Dick and Bruce as a fond memory.
“I won, by the way,” he continued, “But- I forgot to press record on my phone.”
“Oh, no,” you groaned for him.
“Yeah, and Dick refused to believe me,” he chuckled, “That old man didn’t want to admit it either. But I swear- the look on his face when I jumped out while he and some model were going at it- priceless.”
Your jaw dropped, and then you burst into a fit of laughter, tears filling your eyes.
“You- you- you jumped out on him while he was having sex?!” you squealed.
“Yeah,” he grinned, “I didn’t even care that it sort of scarred me, because I managed to catch Batman off guard.”
The both of you laughed, his deep voice mingling with your own on that quiet night.
“I’m glad you’re here, Jason,” you smiled warmly at him.
But then, his smile fell.
“I hate my name now.”
“I’m sorry,” you began, “You said it was okay to call you that, so I-”
“No, it’s fine,” he started running his fingers through his hair again, “It’s just- I don’t know.”
“You can tell me anything,” you reassured, “It won’t leave this room. I promise.”
He looked at you, worry in his eyes. “Okay. Fine. Yeah.”
You waited for him to begin.
He took a deep breath. “I’ve been having nightmares. Almost every night. It’s always the same one.”
“You want to tell me about it?” you prompted him after waiting for him to continue.
“I hate my name because he said it a lot. Joker,” he scowled, “After repeatedly burning my skin for my name, it’s like that’s all he said. In that annoying, high pitched, sing-song voice of his. Jason, Jason, Jason. It made me hate my name. It made me hate hearing it.”
“I- I didn’t know how much time passed when I was in there,” he continued, “But, fuck. It was- it was hell. And the worst part was that I kept on waiting for Bruce. Waiting and hoping for him to find me and save me. I was so desperate. You- I-”
He choked on his words. His eyes were squeezed shut and his lips tight.
You wanted to reach out to him, hug him, tell him that everything was okay now. But you didn’t. You waited for him to collect himself so he could finish telling you his story, just like how he wanted to.
“Anyway, I- despite all that,” he sighed, “That was the only thing that kept me sane. I kept on clinging onto the hope that he was out there, searching. And that helped for a while. Until- until that happened.”
He was breathing heavily now, fidgeting more. Jason was definitely getting increasingly agitated the deeper he went.
“Fuck,” he breathed, “Fuck.”
The moment you realised he was crying was when he let out a sniffle. You automatically took his hand in yours, squeezing it as a form of comfort.
“It’s okay,” you told him, “You don’t have to tell me if you’re not ready.”
“No,” he shook his head, “I need to. I have to. I can’t take this anymore. Keeping everything in, I feel like I’m about to fucking explode.”
“Okay, then take it slow,” you said, “No rush. Anytime you’re ready.”
He nodded, eyes still closed, as if he was afraid of letting you see him cry.
“One night,” he began, “I think- I don’t know what was different- but I think something went wrong for him. Or right? That’s how it was. Tormenting me was fun, but it was also an outlet for him. But at the same time when he was happy, he also tortured me. He came to me, and- injected me with some sort of drug. That never happened before. He made sure that my head was clear whenever he hurt me so that I could feel everything he did.”
“But- he did- and- immediately, I felt weak,” he continued, “I mean, I was already weak. But my head. It was cloudy. I remember everything clearly, but it was like my brain couldn’t process it, couldn’t communicate with my body. I felt like I was looking out through a window that was my eyes- like I was in someone else’s body, experiencing someone else’s moments.”
“He released me,” Jason’s voice was now barely a whisper. “He released me from the ropes, and I fell to the floor. And then he- he- fuck.”
He let go of your hand and started pulling at his hair, rocking back and forth on your bed. He was sobbing now, his shoulders jerking up in sharp intakes of breaths. The only thing you could do was to stay silent and hold back your own tears.
You rested your hand on his knee, giving him a textile connection with reality so he doesn’t fall into his own thoughts.
“You- he- he- ruh- ruhp-”
Your heart sank to your stomach in horror as you realised what Jason was trying to say. It was as if you were plunged into icy water, chills running down your spine at the true revelation of what he had gone through in that cursed cell.
“Oh, no,” you breathed.
“He pushed me down,” he choked, “Pushed me down and climbed on top. I- I couldn’t even fight him. I was- I was conscious the whole time and I knew what was happening, but I couldn’t fucking do anything.”
Your tears were falling down now, both at the sight of Jason looking so vulnerable and fragile, and at his confession. Not being able to help yourself, you threw your arms over his neck and crashed into his hard body, burying your face in the crook of his shoulder.
His arms immediately wrapped around you, clutching you so hard it was painful as he buried his own face into your shoulder.
“And he kept on saying my name,” he said in muffled cries, “Jason, Jason, Jason. The whole fucking time. And- and I knew. He didn’t do it for pleasure. He did it to torment me. He- he didn’t even- he didn’t even finish.”
Jason sobbed into your skin for the next few minutes, his tears soaking through your night shirt. “But I did. Even though it was painful. Fuck, the pain was worse than anything he had ever done to me before. But- he- I- I fucking came.”
The both of you were sobbing now, his ragged breaths mingling together with your own on that quiet night.
His grip on you was tight, as if he thought that if he let go, you would disappear. So he clung onto you with all his might to keep you there with him as he recalled the horrific events.
“That's what broke me. I was so disgusted with myself. I hated myself. And he- he saw everything and- and laughed. He laughed so hard, I thought he was going to choke and die. I’ve never seen him laugh like that. And I remember every single fucking moment of being helpless on that fucking floor while he- fuck. Fuck.”
“And then he left. He left me on the floor bleeding and I never saw him again. And I went fucking insane. I tried to kill myself so many fucking times. So many times, I lost count. That’s what I dream about every night. His laughs, and his ‘Jason, Jason, Jason’.”
And that was that. That was the story.
The end of Jason Todd.
The both of you cried long and hard that night in each other’s arms. Eventually, you both lied down on the pillows together, underneath the covers.
“Please don’t tell Bruce,” he whispered to you.
Your head was on his chest, his big arms wrapped around your waist, your legs tangled with his.
You smiled at that. Even with the trauma, even with the sense of abandonment he felt, he still wanted to protect Bruce from knowing the truth.
Because the both of you knew that the truth would kill him.
“I promise,” you whispered back.
And then the both of you fell asleep together.
***
“Has Jason been sleeping in your room with you?” Bruce asked you on one fine Saturday morning at breakfast.
It had been about a week and a half since the first time Jason knocked on your door and poured out his feelings to you.
“He gets nightmares,” you tried to explain.
He thought that if he told you everything, the nightmares would stop. But it didn’t. But he then realised that the only thing that made it better was sleeping by your side, having someone there to wake him up from living his own hell in a loop.
“And do the two of you… Just sleep?” Bruce frowned.
“Yes!” you widen your eyes in horror at the insinuation. “Bruce! Come on!”
“I know you have feelings for him, and I’m sure he does for you as well. But I don’t think something like that is what Jason needs right now,” he stated.
“Yes, I know!” you groaned at the thought having that kind of conversation with him, “Jesus, Bruce. I know. I’m just there to wake him up or help him fall back asleep. Nothing more.”
Bruce nodded, deep in thought. “Has he… told you? About what happened?”
You pursed your lips. “Yes.”
“You’re not going to tell me?”
“No.”
“Hmm,” his frown went deeper. “I understand. He will tell me when he is ready.”
“Exactly,” you smiled, hiding the fact that Jason may never tell Bruce what happened. Never the full story.
“He still hasn’t left the manor?”
“No,” you sighed, “I asked him if he wanted some fresh air. Just outside the main door, not even going down the steps. But he refused. Told me to, and I quote, ‘Fuck off’.”
“Well, he’s only just left the cave, and it’s just to your room,” Bruce thought out loud, “It’s still progress. Especially since he’s been talking to you about the past.”
“He only spoke about it one time,” you said, “And then never again.”
“I see,” he hummed, “And you’re okay with him sleeping with you?”
“Next to me, Bruce, sleeping next to me,” you corrected.
“Yes, and you’re okay with that?”
“Yeah, it’s all good,” you assured him, “I can kick him out any time I want- but I don’t want to. He looks like a lost puppy sometimes.”
“An angry lost puppy.”
You chuckled at that and couldn’t agree more.
*** While Jason got the sleep he needed when he was next to you, it was counterproductive on your end. You had never been with anyone before, and definitely had not slept on the same bed with another man.
So to feel his body heat and breaths against your skin, his occasional light snores, it made your mind go on hyperdrive.
Most of the time, the two of you would just lie down, your back against his front, or your backs against each other, or both on your backs just staring at the ceiling- and talked. You would be the one talking the most, of course, about anything you could think of. You would tell him about your day, your patrols, something you read about online, or the current news.
But that one particular night during week three of him sleeping next to you, the two of you were silent. It wasn’t an awkward or uncomfortable silence, but the kind of silence that was pleasant and was better described as a peaceful quiet.
You had your back pressed against his front and his arm was lazily draped over your waist. It was a cold night, and you were wearing just a tank top and pyjama shorts, snuggling under the covers that went up all the way to your nose.
Shifting a bit while snuggling comfortably, you pressed yourself against Jason’s body to get more of his heat. But then, you were met with something poking against your lower back.
“Ngh, please ignore that,” Jason huffed.
Oh.
For some reason, you forgot that Jason was a physically healthy male who was capable of having sexual thoughts and feelings. All this while, you thought you were the only one.
“Are you- uh- is that- uh-” you stuttered, feeling your face flush with heat.
Feeling your body suddenly alert with excitement.
“Yes, it’s my fucking penis,” he grit almost angrily, “What, never heard of an erection before?”
“Of course I have!” you argued rather defensively, “It’s just- I’m surprised, that’s all.”
“Why?” he demanded, “You didn’t think I could get it up or something?”
“No, of course not!” you denied, “It just didn’t cross my mind, that’s all.”
A pause. Then-
“Well,” he sighed, “You wouldn’t have been wrong.”
Your mind blanked for a second.
“What do you mean?” you asked softly.
“It’s my- fuck- it’s my first time,” he confessed.
“Your first time getting an erection?” you gasped.
“No, you idiot,” he snapped, “It’s my first time getting hard since… since… then.”
Oh. Oh, you were an idiot.
“It’s just- after that- even when I was downstairs, alone and safe, I- I couldn’t,” he told you, “I kept on thinking back to that time and- and I couldn’t. I found it disgusting.”
And immediately, like someone doused you in cold water, any feeling of horniness you had when you first felt his erection against you disappeared. You just felt so sad for him, but also angry. Angry that he had to go through all of that, and angrier that there was nothing you could do about it.
“So, why do you think you’re getting it now?” you asked. Perhaps talking about it in an objective manner would help guide him through his thought process.
“Are you kidding me?” he scoffed, “You’re fucking pressing your ass against my dick, what did you think would happen?”
“Wait, what?” your eyes widen, “You’re hard because of me?”
“No shit,” he said, “You’re hardly wearing any clothes, too.”
You shouldn’t feel happy due to the circumstance and context, but there you were ecstatic that he found you attractive enough to pop a boner after so long.
“Fuck,” he sighed, suddenly pressing himself closer to you.
His hand that draped over your waist when to actually grip it. Then, then, he grinded his hard on against your ass.
“Mmm,” he rumbled deeply, “Feels good.”
There. That was it. You were once again flooded with the feeling of heat that pooled at your stomach, a tingling sensation started at your core. Feeling hot despite the low temperature of the night, you clenched your thighs together, needing the slight pressure.
“Yeah?” you whispered.
“Yeah,” he grinded on you again, and then unexpectedly let out a chuckle.
“What is it?” you smiled, loving it whenever you heard him laugh.
“I thought… For the longest time, I thought I was broken. That he broke me,” he revealed, “I thought I needed to get all Wingardium Leviosa on this little fucker.”
“Oh my God,” you laughed and groaned at the same time, “You’re so fucking embarassing.”
He laughed along with you and continued. “But now I’m hard and- and horny. You made me feel like I’m normal again. Like I’m sixteen again, and getting horny over everything.”
Sometimes, we take the normal things for granted. Food, shelter, clothes. In this case, it was a goddamned boner. In a way, Jason’s erection was symbolic- however funny it sounded. Getting your sexual appetite and need back after being so traumatised was a massive leap for many people who had experienced the same thing.
It meant that Jason was healing well.
“Does that make you happy?” you asked.
“Not particularly,” he admitted, “But I’m definitely not sad either.”
“That’s good enough for now, then,” you beamed.
“Yeah,” he breathed.
Another few moments of silence. You could feel it, his cock pushing into you. However tempted you were to push back and grind, you held yourself still.
“Uh, Jason?” you voiced.
“Yeah.”
“Do you want to like, take care of it?” you asked, “I mean. My bathroom is available. Or- there are many empty rooms.”
“No,” he simply stated.
“No?”
“No.”
“It’s kinda poking into me.”
“Just ignore it.”
“Ignore it?” you gaped, “How can I ignore it? You’re literally pressing it into my ass.”
“Well, then do you want to take care of it?” he teased.
You couldn’t argue back. “Fine, I’ll ignore it.”
He chuckled. “I’ll turn around.”
When he made the movement, you suddenly grabbed him by the wrist. “No, it’s fine. Stay here.”
You expected him to tease you like he usually would, make a crass comment, or even a ‘fuck off’.
Instead, he wrapped his arms around you again in silence, and the both of you drifted to sleep.

“Do you think this color suits me?” Natalie asked, holding up a floral red dress.
The four of you were at the mall in Diamond District. Now that high school was over, and everyone would be going off to separate colleges in a few months, you tried to spend time with each other as much as you could.
“Any color suits you, Nat,” you rolled your eyes, “You’re hot stuff.”
“Jesus, it’s like you’re shoving it in our faces at this point,” Sarah added, flipping her brunette hair to the side, tight curls flowing down.
“Aw, you guys,” Nat pretended to tear up, “I’m gonna miss you guys so much!”
“Not again,” Alex groaned, “We’ve been through this so many times.”
“I’m gonna be so miserable without you guys,” Natalie continued on, ignoring Alex’s interruption.
“I don’t know,” Sarah shrugged, “I think I’d enjoy New York. I can have pizza parties with the rats in my overpriced apartment.”
You chuckled at Sarah’s joke. Everyone was leaving Gotham except you. Deciding to continue with Robin, you opted for Gotham University- prestigious, old, and most importantly, close to home.
Your phone dinged in your pocket. You opened it to find texts from Dick.
Dick: OH MY GOD. Dick: I’m at the Manor. Dick: Was going to the Cave gym to work out. Dick: AND Dick: JASON IS HERE!!! WHAT DO I DO?!?!
That was new. Jason would usually just use whatever basic equipment he had in his room to work out. The fact that he was at the Cave’s sparring area where all the other fancier work out equipment were was out of the ordinary.
You: Just go. See if he reacts. If he suddenly stiffens and just stay there not doing anything, then leave. If he continues on, then it’s okay to stay- but don’t initiate anything! Dick: OKOKOK
You waited anxiously for Dick’s update. All four of you were now walking towards the food court, but you hardly listened to their bickering. Forty-five minutes passed before Dick texted you again.
Dick: OMG HE TALKED TO ME You: What did he say? Dick: He asked me to pass him his towel. You: That’s all he said? Dick: IT’S PROGRESS OKAY!!
Dick was right. It meant that Dick was now the third person Jason had spoken to. Adding another person to his list of contacts was definitely progress.
You were happy for him.
You:Is he still there? Dick: Nah he left Dick: But WOW he’s looking good. He must have been really going at it. I think he might get bigger than me soon You: All he does now is work out. He’s obsessed. Dick: Yeah I can tell
You decided to leave it at that for now and try to concentrate on your friends, but Dick sent another message.
Dick: ARE YOU TWO HAVING SEX?!?!
You spat out your drink, earning weird looks from everyone.
You: DICK!!!! WTF NO!!
Dick never replied.

“Can I ask you for a favor?” Jason asked, his voice breaking the silence of your dark room. The two of you were on your bed, lying down and staring at the ceiling.
“Of course,” you said. It didn’t matter to you what Jason asks for. He hardly ever asked for anything.
“Could you… Take me out tomorrow?” he requested, “If you’re not doing anything else, that is.”
“Uh, sure!” you nodded, surprised. “Where do you want to go?”
“Anywhere,” he shrugged, “It doesn’t matter.”
“Yeah, okay,” you hesitated, “But- are you sure? I mean, you don’t have to go so far so quickly. Maybe you should start with just going to the backyard?”
“No, I’ll be fine,” he insisted. “I’m not a kid.”
“Okay then,” you agreed. “Tomorrow.”
You kept on glancing anxiously at him the next day as he climbed into the passenger seat of your car. He was quiet, but looked perfectly fine.
Switching the engine on, you drove out of the garage and out the large automatic gates. Trees soon surrounded the lonely road on both sides as you descended downhill into town.
“So where are we going?” he asked.
“I thought Robinson Park would be nice,” you said. It was around three in the afternoon, yet Gotham was dark as though the day was ending. It was cloudy, skies grey and wind blowing.
“You’re taking me to a park?” he scoffed.
“It’s more quiet than anywhere else,” you reasoned with him, “Less people. Spacious. Lots of greenery.”
“Whatever.”
Reaching the parking space of the park, you noticed that there were a few cars. Mothers and nannies liked to bring children out to the park around that time. Joggers and teens, college students and retired elderly seeking a little escape from the high rise buildings of concrete and glass.
You turned the engine off and proceeded to open the door, only then noticing Jason stiffening. Looking over to him, you saw that his eyebrows were pulled down in a deep frown, his jaw clenched, his hands in fists on his knees.
You didn’t say anything or make any comment. Leaning back into your seat, you waited until Jason was ready.
About five minutes passed before he took a deep breath, gave you a nod, and then opened his door.
The two of you walked along a path at the park, going deeper inside and further away from your car. There were a few joggers around, some tourists, and some teens taking photos. You saw a group of kids in the distance playing frisbee, and the others were walking their dogs.
An empty bench stood in the middle of the park, overlooking a clearing. You headed there, Jason following closely behind.
“It’s a bit gloomy today,” you pouted, “As if Gotham could be anything other than that, of course.”
You looked at Jason.
He looked like a scared dog being brought out for the first time.
His jittery knees were bouncing rapidly, his wide eyes were darting at every movement, his forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat, and his breathing was heavy.
“Woah, woah,” you reached out to him, putting an arm on his back. “It’s okay. I’m here. Just listen to me talk, yeah?”
“Yeah,” he gulped.
“Try to calm your breathing,” you instructed, “Deep breaths, Jason. In… out… In… Out… Yeah, see that’s great.”
“Yeah,” he breathed, now calmer. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” you smiled warmly, “You’re doing just fine.”
“No, I’m not,” he strained, “I feel like everything is too big. Too vast. The fucking sky looks like it’s going to crash down on me and at the same time suck me up into a void.”
“And despite all you’re feeling right now, you’re not breaking down or anything, are you?” you tried, “You’re okay, Jason. This is progress.”
“I guess,” he sighed, “I’m just- I’m so used to having four walls and a ceiling. Now everything feels too big.”
“I understand,” you empathized, “Whenever you want to go back, just say the word. Or we can even just go and sit in the car. No problem.”
“Yeah, okay, let’s do that,” he stood up.
The walk back to the car was faster.
“Fuck, I’m so fucking pathetic,” he said, running his fingers through his hair.
“No, you’re not,” you reassured him, “That was great, Jason. Come on, it was your first time outside in two years and a half. Cut yourself some slack.”
“I’m so fucking broken,” he choked.
“Don’t say that,” you scolded, “You’re not broken. And you know what, even if you think you are, we can always fix it. Baby steps. Maybe we can do this once a week. We were out for like, ten minutes? Next week we’ll try fifteen. How’s that sound?”
“Twice a week,” he stated, “I just want to be normal again.”
“Okay, twice a week, then,” you agreed, “We’ll try again in a couple of days, okay?”
“Okay,” he paused, “Thank you.”
“No problemo,” you grinned, “Would you like to stay here a bit longer or shall we go back?”
“Let’s go back.”
“Wanna stop by the diner? You can wait in the car while I ask for a take-away?”
“...okay.”
***
Jason and you had gone out twice more. Once three days after the first time, and the other a week later. The second time he went out, he lasted twenty minutes, though you were sure he was being stubborn on his part. He looked like he was having a heart attack, but he insisted on staying until he hit the twenty minute mark.
The third time, he was much much better. Surprisingly so. The two of you sat down on that bench for half an hour, with you even leaving him alone for a few minutes to get two ice cream cones.
After that, you took him for a drive around the city. He seemed to be more comfortable in the car, so you went all the way from Robinson Park to Diamond District, and back to the manor.
Bruce seemed very pleased with your update, and you swore you could see him actually smile.
“Thank you,” he had told you. “You’ve done more than I could have ever asked of you.”
“It’s no problem, Bruce. Really,” you reassured him.
“I’m his father. He is my responsibility. It’s my fault he’s even in that state. I wish I could do more for him,” he said solemnly.
“The fact that you understand what he needs is more than helpful, Bruce,” you smiled, “Not many parents can do that. You understand and respect him. That’s enough for now.”
He simply nodded.
Ever since your scheduled outings, Jason had become more and more relaxed whenever he was in the manor. He now walked to the kitchen on occasion to mess with Alfred while he cooked meals for him, sometimes sitting in the living room lounging on the couch while reading. Most of the time, though, he was down at the sparring zone of the Cave, working out.
But at night, he would never fail to knock on your door.
And at that particular night, you found yourself in the same situation again while lying down on your side with your back to his front, for the fifth time.
“You officially have to stop calling yourself broken,” you grumbled, “Because that thing poking into my ass is definitely not broken.”
He chuckled lowly. “You complaining, sweetheart?”
Oh, and yes. Jason now had started calling you ‘sweetheart’. Why? You had no clue. It was just a thing that happened. The look on your face when he first slipped it in was probably a sight to behold.
“No shit, I’m complaining, Jason,” you groaned, “You haven’t jerked off, yet? Not even once?”
“Nope,” he popped the P, “I just… I don’t want to… I don’t want to come.”
You sighed, understanding the situation. He had been disgusted with himself because he had ejaculated when Joker… Well, that. You hated to even think about it, so you always shoved the thought away.
“But unfortunately for me, I still get super horny,” he rumbled deeply, pushing his hips into you even more, “So fucking horny.”
“And then I have to suffer,” you complained.
“I can assure you, blue balls are more painful than something poking into you,” he bickered.
“It’s not that…”
“Then?”
“I get horny too, come on man,” you whined, “I’m a hormonal teenage girl. What did you expect?”
“You get horny too?” he whispered after a pause.
“Uh, yeah,” you admitted nervously. Somehow, the mood shifted, and your heart started drumming against your chest.
“Because of me?” he asked.
“Not you specifically, I mean,” you tried to back track, “You’re… Your dick pressing up against me like that, I mean, come on, Jason.”
“Simple question sweetheart,” he told you, “You get horny because of me, yes or no?”
You gulped. “Yes.”
Fuck, why did you say yes? You could have lied. You could have not answered.
“Yeah?” he breathed. You noticed that his hand was now on your hip, right above the waistband of your sleeping shorts, drawing circles onto your skin with his thumb.
You were nervous. The butterflies in your tummy was not helping you calm down.
“Yeah,” you squeezed your eyes shut, as if to protect yourself from anything he had to say.
“Fuck,” he groaned, gripping your hips and grinding his hard on against your ass even more. And did it… Fuck, did it get even harder?
Afraid of saying the wrong thing, and also out of nervousness, you remained silent. Jason’s chest rose and fall against your back, his respiratory rate increasing. His pinky finger slid underneath the waistband, testing the waters before slowly slipping his hand into your pants.
He went in so slowly, as if waiting for you to tell him no, to rip his hand away, to wrench yourself away from him. But you never did, so he went in deeper, caressing the skin beneath your pelvic bone, his heat just burning into you.
“You’re not wearing any underwear,” he commented, voice suddenly husky.
“I don’t wear them to bed,” you informed him.
“You mean to tell me,” he growled, “That all this while I’ve been sleeping next to you and you never had your panties on?”
“It’s more comfortable that way,” you mumbled.
“Jesus Christ,” he cursed. “Thank God I never knew. Would have been torture, and trust me, I know what I’m talking about.”
“Jason,” you gasped.
“It’s true,” he said, “Damn, sweetheart.”
He went lower, closer to your center.
Your core was tingly, small pulses of electricity buzzed through your body as Jason came closer and closer and closer and-
He slipped his hands between your closed thighs and cupped you.
“Mmm,” he moaned softly, “Warm. Fuzzy.”
“Fuzzy?” you laughed, even though you felt like screaming on the inside. Screaming for more.
“Yeah,” he mumbled, burying his face into your nape, taking a deep breath. “You smell nice.”
Oh, shit. You totally forgot about Jason’s aversion to strong smells.
“I’m sorry!” you quickly apologised, “I can switch to an unscented shampoo as well so it wouldn’t be too strong for you.”
“It’s fine,” he said, “I like it on you.”
He ground his hand into your center harder.
“Mmpf, Jay,” you breathed, “What are you doing?”
“I don’t know,” he confessed, “I’ve never touched a girl like this before.”
“Really?” you widen your eyes in surprise.
“I was kept in a cell for two years, I couldn’t exactly talk, let alone touch, anyone can I?” he quipped.
“Right.”
“Teach me,” he said.
“What?” you whispered despite knowing what he meant.
A pause of silence. A deep intake of breath, a slow exhale.
“Teach me how to touch you,” he purred.
Fuck, you felt like exploding.
“Are you sure?” you asked.
“Yes. If you… If you want to.”
Your mind quickly tried to analyse the situation. Bruce had specifically said that Jason didn’t need any complicated matters in the relationship. It made sense. You didn’t want to overwhelm Jason with any confusion or uncertainty.
But at the same time, you’ve been figuring out how Jason thought, bit by bit. He’s told you many times that he just wanted to be normal again, to feel normal, to do normal things. And this was something that was normal, that he should do, that he wanted to do.
And you knew that he probably would take the rejection even worse.
“O-Okay,” you agreed.
Slowly, you separated your thighs, raising the one on top and hooking it over his legs behind you. Due to your shift in position, you felt the minute Jason’s fingers dip slightly into your folds.
“So, uh, this is my first time with a guy as well,” you squeaked, “But I’ll try to guide you.”
You licked your lips.
“Uhm, well, I guess you can start by running a finger up and down between my- oh! Yes, just like that.”
His middle finger slid down to your opening, and then up again slowly. His movements were uncertain, brushing only slightly against your clit unintentionally.
It was different, having someone else touch you. Somehow, despite the inexperience, it just felt better.
“Holy fuck,” he gasped, “You’re so fucking wet. Do you usually get this wet?”
You felt your cheeks heat up. “No? Yes? I don’t know! I can’t feel it.”
“Shit.”
You let him play with you some more, his fingers sliding up and down, sometimes pressing against your fleshy parts, sometimes circling and gathering your wetness, sometimes just parting your lips. Hell, he even tapped the tips of his fingers on you randomly or brushed into your delicate fuzz. You knew he was just exploring, feeling you for the first time.
And that thought made you smile and sigh.
“Teach me how to make you feel good,” he rasped.
“Uh, so your fingers are wet, right?”
“Yeah. Because you’re leaking all over them.”
“Okay, good. Now find my clit. It’s slightly above your finger, okay, to the left a bit. More. Okay, there! Yeah, right there,” you sighed, finally feeling that delicious pressure.
“Here?”
He tapped your clit.
“Ah!” you moaned, “Yes- but don’t just- nevermind, just gently circle it. Clockwise.”
He obeyed, and hell since when did Jason just obey?
He circled you gently, like you said. But he also went so, so slow.
“Faster, Jay,” you panted.
He went faster, making you groan in pleasure.
“Like this, sweetheart?” he muttered, his voice low and cracking, and sexy, and husky. You’ve never heard him sound like that before, and it drove you wild.
“Yeah,” you breathed, “Yeah, just like that. Fuck.”
“Feel good?”
“So good, Jay. Press a little harder now- fuck. Fuck. Yes, perfect. Just like that.”
The pressure built as his fingers did their magic.
“You- you’re surprisingly good at that,” you stuttered, “You sure- mmm- you sure you’ve never done this before?”
“Despite what you think,” he husked in your ear, warm breath tickling you. “I’m very good at following instructions.”
“I can see that.”
“But I’m also good at improvising.”
“Wha- oh. Oh. Fuck! Jason! Oh my fucking god!”
He started pressing even harder, and going even faster, throwing away the slow build you were going for and instead pushing you towards orgasm fast and hard, as if he was determined to prove something to you.
“Feel good, sweetheart?” he purred, “You gonna come soon?”
“Oh my- fuck, yes! Fuck, don’t stop!”
“You want to come for me?” his deep voice rumbled.
“Yes!”
What the hell? When did he learn how to talk like that?
Because with the mix of his heavy pants, his low voice coaxing you, his barrage of pleasure at your clit, you felt the familiar tightening of your core. You threw one hand back and found his hair. Running your fingers through them, you gripped them tight and pulled.
You pulled on his hair as he forced the orgasm onto you.
“Oh my God. Jason, I’m gonna- fuck- I’m- fuck- ah!”
You moaned loudly as you felt your walls flutter, clenching over nothing as you reached your high.
“O-okay, stop, fuck,” your hand went from his hair to his wrist, stilling him. He withdrew his hands from your pants, and went to grip you tight again by the waist.
“Fucking hell, sweetheart,” he groaned, grinding into you. You pushed your ass back, feeling his hardened length against your flesh in your post-orgasm bliss. “Jesus, that was so hot.”
“That was- yeah,” you giggled, “Fuck.”
His face was still buried in your neck. You could feel his lips on your skin.
“Uhm, I can, you know,” you sputtered, “Try to help you out?”
“It’s fine,” he breathed, body still tight against yours, “Just go to sleep.”
“Are you sure?” you asked again, feeling guilty that he didn’t get off. “I don’t mind.”
“I do,” he said, “It’s okay, sweetheart. That was great. I enjoyed that. I told you, I don’t want to come.”
“Okay,” you sighed.
“Go to bed.”
“Thank you, Jason.”
“Fuck, I’m so horny.”
“Jason,” you whined, “Really, I can help-”
“I’m kidding,” he chuckled, “Goodnight.”
You pursed your lips.
“Goodnight.”

Keiji Akaashi x Fem!Reader
Summary: Travelling during the holidays is extremely difficult between people working and getting home in time to be with family friends. It’s another story however when you end up getting snowed in at an airport with an insanely gorgeous man.
Warnings/Contains: Fluff, slow burn(?), reader has an iPhone and airpods (sorry to samsung/android users lol).
Word Count: 2635
“Attention passengers, we are terribly sorry to announce, but all flights this evening have been delayed until further notice due to weather. For more information about your personal flight and when it will likely be rebooked, please see the attendants at your gate. Thank you.”
“Are you kidding?”
Keiji sighed as he looked at his phone, checking the time; 19:28. His flight was scheduled for 20:45, but now he was stuck at the airport for god knew how long. It was December 22nd, no doubt one of the busiest travel days of the holiday season much less of the year. He was trying to fly back home to Tokyo to see his friends and family for the holidays, but now he was worried that his plans might be foiled depending on how long the weather decided to last.
He looked around the gate for his flight, seeing some people staying in their seats while others left the area, most likely to get food or check on their flight for when a possible reschedule would be. Knowing that he couldn’t leave the airport since he had luggage on the plane, Keiji leaned back in his seat to try and relax. Yes, he was upset that he wouldn’t get to be home as soon as he liked, but he couldn’t do anything about it now.
About an hour later, Keiji sighed as his phone notified him that it was low on battery. He reached into his bag to pull out his phone charger, but felt his heart drop when he didn’t feel the wire where he usually kept it. He tried to think back to where he might have put it, only to realize that he packed it in his suitcase along with the gifts he had bought for his family and friends.
Keiji sighed, annoyed with himself and the fact that he’d most likely have to buy an overpriced one from the airport; he looked up from his bag after he set it back down by his feet, only to see a girl in the row of seats across from him who appeared to be around his age staring right back at him.
Two hours earlier
“Attention passengers, we are terribly sorry to announce, but all flights this evening have been delayed until further notice due to weather. For more information about your personal flight and when it will likely be rebooked, please see the attendants at your gate. Thank you.”
“Are you serious? I just checked my luggage, too!”
(Y/N) groaned as she stopped walking towards her gate. She pulled out her phone, opening up her contacts before clicking on one while walking off to the side to avoid being in someone’s way. She adjusted the airpods in her ears before pocketing her phone as she called the person pulled up on her phone. She leaned back against the wall and set her carry-on bag down, watching people walk to and from the gates in the long stretch of hallway as she waited for the person to answer. Sadly, she heard the automatic voicemail begin to play, making (Y/N) shake her head before leaving one.
“Hey, it’s me. I’m sorry, but all the flights in the airport have been delayed due to the snow storm that’s coming in. I know that I need to meet with the publisher on the 24th, but I’m not sure I can make it if they don’t reschedule the flights in time.” She sighed, moving her hair out of her face. “I’ll let you know when I get told of when my flight will be. If they end up needing to reschedule the meeting, please inform me. I don’t want a repeat of last time.”
(Y/N) paused as she briefly thought back to her last meeting with a publishing company where they had to reschedule her, but she wasn’t told of it by her friend that was helping her try and get her name out there by scheduling such appointments for her. Of course, she didn’t want to think about that possibly happening again.
“Anyway, I’m going to stay at the airport in the meantime; again, I’ll keep you updated. Bye.” (Y/N) took her phone out of her pocket, ending the voicemail and hoping that her friend would receive it soon and inform her of any changes.
“Alright,” she grabbed her carry-on bag, “now where’s gate B7?”
An hour later, (Y/N) made it to her gate after accidentally going to the wrong side of the airport. She sighed as she sat down, relieved to at least be at the right gate. She took note of how empty the area seemed, figuring that some people had decided to try and check into one of the hotels near the airport if they didn’t have any luggage to check or wanted to get some food and were waiting in one of the long lines she had passed while walking through the airport.
(Y/N) didn’t bother thinking about it longer than she had to, simply taking out her airpods so they could charge and pulling out a book from her carry-on bag to read. Her thoughts immediately changed from trying to figure out what was going to happen next in the book however when she heard someone sigh. Out of instinct, she glanced up at the sound to see a fairly attractive man sitting across from her, who was also, now, looking at her.
The two locked eyes for a moment before Keiji coughed to break the silence. “Sorry to bother you, but do you have an iPhone charger I could borrow by any chance?”
(Y/N) opened her mouth, hesitating for a moment before actually saying anything to him. “Yeah, o-of course.” She smiled sincerely, mentally screaming at herself to ‘get it together’ and just ‘be nice to the guy’ as she rummaged through her bag to grab her phone charger. She couldn’t deny that he was crazy attractive, and appeared to be booked for the same flight as hers, but he was just a guy, and a complete stranger at that. However, she was most likely never going to see this man again, so why not try and shoot her shot?
She handed him the charger, meeting his gaze once again. “Here.”
“Thank you.” Keiji smiled back at her, appreciative of the fact that she was nice enough to let him borrow it. He plugged the cell block into the outlet under his seat before plugging the other end into his phone, letting out a small sigh of relief as he saw his screen light up saying that it was currently at 17% and charging.
“So,” (Y/N) zipped up her bag, “were you flying to Tokyo, too?”
Keiji looked back at the girl, part of him shocked that she continued their conversation while the other part of him was a little relieved that he didn’t have to force any small talk between the two of them. He nodded at her question before answering.
“Yeah, I was. I had friends and family to see.” He smiled to himself at the thought of Tetsurou messing with him for ‘being late’ and/or making him and Kenma ‘deal with Koutarou’ for longer than planned, even though he knew that they all cared for each other dearly. He looked back up at her, holding his hands in his lap and playing with his fingers out of habit. “I can only assume you’re doing the same?”
(Y/N) let out a laugh, shaking her head. “No, sadly,” she smiled, “I’m stuck with the cliche work on Christmas Eve.”
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear.”
“It’s alright, it’s not that important. I just hope they reschedule if I can’t make it in time.” (Y/N) glanced down at her phone screen as she felt it vibrate, only to see a notification saying that the snow storm that was passing through the area would be lasting nearly all night. She frowned, hoping to see a message from either her friend or the publisher, but luck appeared to not be on her side.
Keiji nodded, understanding how she felt as he’d had his fair share of work related meetings in which he’d encounter issues with. His eyes widened slightly as he was brought back into the conversation as she spoke up again.
“Oh, sorry,” (Y/N) laughed softly, shaking her head. “I’m (Y/N) by the way.”
“Keiji,” he smiled. “Nice to meet you.”
“You as well.” (Y/N) reached her arms up and behind her, stretching them for a moment before bringing them back down to rest in her lap. “It looks like we’re going to be here for awhile.” She looked out the stretch of windows that showed the runways along with some of the planes by a couple gates both nearby and at other parts of the airport. It was dark out, but the lights and the snow falling heavily gave the outside enough light for everything to be seen easier.
Keiji looked out the window as well, taking a moment to enjoy the sight. He may not have been home, but falling snow was one of his favorite things ever since he was a kid. For a moment, he had even forgotten that his flight got delayed and may not get to fly home for another day or two.
“What’cha wanna do?”
Once again, (Y/N) pulled him out of his thoughts.
She was smiling, as though she was waiting for him to be confused or weirded out by her words and not take offense to it. Keiji simply stared at her, not sure how to answer her question.
“Pardon?”
(Y/N) closed her book and shrugged, glancing to the side and watching a couple people walk by their gate. “I mean, we have nothing else better to do than wait for our flight.”
“Then what do you suppose we do?”
“Um,” (Y/N) thought for a moment, her leg bouncing up and down. “It’s a bit cliche, but how about 20 questions?”
Keiji stared at her for a moment, almost making (Y/N) worried that she had weirded him out by being so outgoing towards a stranger. What she did know though was that he had been in much crazier if not weirder conversations with his friends from high school; so, why not humor her?
“Sure,” he smiled, crossing his legs and his arms as he leaned back in his seat. “Why don’t you start?”
(Y/N) felt her stomach flip at the look Keiji was giving her, making her smile shyly and glance to the side once again. She tried to ignore the slight heat in her cheeks as she came up with a question. “Alright, uh, what do you do for a living?”
“I’m an editor for Shonen Jump.”
“Really? That’s so cool.”
Keiji sighed and adjusted his glasses. “I guess. I’m hoping to work more in the literature side of things soon.” (Y/N) nodded, understanding; she probably would prefer to be editing in that genre as well. “Anyway, um,” he looked down at the floor trying to come up with a question. “What kind of work are you travelling for?”
“Actually, I’m trying to get my first book published, so I was going to meet with the company.”
“Which one?”
“Wandering Works Publishing.”
Keiji smiled, as if he knew the company personally. “That one is pretty reputable. How did you get a meeting with them?”
(Y/N) held back a sigh, instead letting out a long breath while she spoke. “My friend has been trying to help me get the book published, so she’s the one who’s scheduled everything.” She glanced back out the window, watching the snowfall before looking back at Keiji. “Anyway, why did you choose to go into the same field?” She chuckled to herself.
Keiji shrugged, dropping his hands to rest in his lap; out of habit, he began to play with his fingers. “I always liked literature and analyzing complicated texts in high school; so I thought why not try and help in the process of making more of them.”
(Y/N) smiled at his reasoning. “What high school did you go to?” “I believe it’s my turn to ask a question, darling.” Keiji chuckled softly, his smile nearing a smirk as he looked up at (Y/N).
The two continued to ask questions back and forth, eventually forgetting about the game that (Y/N) originally suggested. Keiji learned how the book she was trying to get published was the first of a three part series she had been writing since high school and had been in the process of publishing for almost a year now. Meanwhile (Y/N) learned how Keiji used to play volleyball in high school on one of the best teams in the country, and that one of the friends he was visiting was now a professional player.
Time seemed to pass so quickly that neither of them seemed to notice how quiet the rest of the airport had become. (Y/N) had even moved to sit next to him so that they could talk to one another better.
While Keiji read over the first chapter of her book on her laptop, (Y/N) looked back out the window to see how the planes and runways were holding up due to the snow storm. Her eyes widened at the site. “Wow, it’s really coming down,” Keiji glanced over at (Y/N) before looking out the window as well, also shocked at how much snow that had fallen in the past couple of hours. “Hopefully it stops so we can get on our flight sooner.” He looked back at (Y/N)’s laptop, looking in the corner to read the time, 23:13. “They haven’t given us any update on it in the last two hours, either.”
(Y/N) leaned back in her seat. “I doubt it’ll be anytime soon with the amount that’s already on the ground.” She yawned, frowning and starting to get more worried since she was most likely not going to make her meeting.
After a moment of silence, Keiji spoke up to break the silence, as though he could sense her worry and uneasiness. “The first chapter is good by the way. I hope you get it published soon so I can get a first edition copy.” He smiled and handed back her laptop.
(Y/N) smiled, unable to stop the blush on her cheeks as she heard his compliment. “Thank you, that means a lot to me.” She closed her laptop and began putting it back in her bag. “Maybe I can give you the honor of owning a signed copy.”
“I would like that.” Keiji smiled at her, taking in her appearance while she wasn’t looking at him. He couldn’t deny that she was beautiful, and a great conversationalist, but he wasn’t sure if making a move out of nowhere would be the best idea given the fact that he couldn’t really evade her if things went south.
(Y/N) looked back at him after closing her bag, staring right back at the man beside her. Neither said anything for a few moments before clearing her throat and looking away, although it was evident that she was smiling to herself, or Keiji might even say she was flustered. So, he decided, why not go for it?
“Listen, um,” he glanced down at his hands as he began playing with his fingers again before looking back up at (Y/N). “Since we’re likely going to be here awhile, would you maybe like to get a coffee or something?”
(Y/N) met his gaze once again, obviously taking in his words before smiling wide; she nodded. “I would like that.”

You pulled your coat closer in a useless attempt to ward off the cold. Winter had decided to make an appearance early this year as snow laid on the ground, and you lamented over the fact you’d chosen to walk home instead of take a taxi. The coffee shop was only a couple blocks away from your apartment, but it felt like a cross country trek as your breath billowed out of your mouth.
The wind rustled through the trees and you shuddered again. The park you’d taken a shortcut through was a good size, and you could no longer see the streetlights that signaled civilization was near.
Why had you decided to do this, again? And on Halloween night? Not that you believed in the paranormal or anything—
You dropped your nearly-empty coffee cup, the last drops spilled and forgotten on the footpath. A pair of glowing blue eyes stared out at you from the underbrush around the base of a tree.
Before you could think to scream, a low whine came from the bush. You placed your hand over your heart and let out a long breath, smiling faintly. It was just a dog, that was all. And the light from the full moon must be making its eyes glow like that. Yes, that’s all it was.
“It’s all right,” you said, offering your hand in what you hoped was a friendly manner, praying it didn’t have rabies. “Come here, boy.”
There was a low thudding noise accompanied by the brush moving. A sad, fluffy tail thumping against the ground.
You gave a sympathetic “awwww” and lightly patted your thighs, hoping to coax it out of its hiding place.
“You poor thing. Are you cold? I bet you’re hungry. Come here, sweetie, let’s get you some… food…”
Your voice trailed off as the glowing pair of blue eyes rose, higher and higher—definitely not at canine level—before it stepped out of the shadows.
It was huge, or at least seemed that way when you’d been expecting a large dog at most. Standing on two legs, it reached over six feet easily, not including the wolfish ears that stuck up from its head. With blue-black fur, sharp nails and a hint of teeth peeking out from its lips, you would have never guessed it was an android if not for the spinning yellow ring at its temple.
The android was also completely naked, not a stitch of clothing to be seen, and you quickly snapped your eyes back up to its face, face flushing at the sheer size of what you’d seen.
It—he took a hesitant step toward you, and if you’d had any of your senses left, you would have run. Android or not, you were fairly certain you were about to be murdered and eaten, and not necessarily in that order.
But your joints were locked, your limbs frozen, and all you could do was watch as the android bent down and wrapped a clawed hand carefully around your discarded coffee cup. Stepping directly in front of you, he slowly held the cup out, his ears laid flat as if afraid you were going to whack him with a rolled up newspaper.
You glanced from face to his outstretched hand. That was when you caught sight of the gash across his ribcage, the exposed internal circuits glittering in the dark.
You’d always had a soft spot for injured animals. And while he might not be an animal, per se, it was close enough that you gently took the coffee cup and gave him a soft thank you.
His ears perked and his tail wagged hopefully as he retracted his hand. He continued the slow wag of his tail as he stared at you expectantly. It took you a minute to realize what he was waiting for. He was, after all, an android, and a canine-like one at that.
He was waiting for orders.
“Are you lost?” you asked. Was he even programmed to talk? “Where do you live? Do you need help getting back home?”
You almost asked who his owner was, but it didn’t feel right. You suspected you’d made the right decision when the question had him folding his ears back, his floofy tail dipping towards the ground.
“Uh, that’s okay.” You tried you best at a soothing smile. “The police station isn’t far from here. I can take you there—“
It was precisely the wrong thing to say; his LED went red and he winced as if you’d slapped him. You weren’t at all prepared for him to open his mouth, and a raspy, rough voice to come out.
“No. Please. Not there.”
You gawked up at him, hardly believing what you’d heard with your own ears, but the android could definitely talk. As strange as he looked, he was capable of communicating his wants.
…and you’d heard rumors about the kinds of androids that wanted.
Carefully you glanced around, but no one else had come across the two of you. It was lucky it was Halloween when most people would be trick-or-treating or handing out candy; the last thing you needed was to be caught in the middle of the night, in a park, with a strange, naked android.
“Okay. No police station.” You rubbed at your arms as you glanced him over, immediately regretting it as your sight dipped below his belly button. Looking away resolutely, you offered, “Why don’t you come back to my place, just for tonight? Get you some clothes and then… we can have a talk.”
Finally, you had said the right thing. His ears went all perky and his tail wagged its fastest yet, but most of all, his LED went blue for the first time. It was the same shade as his glowing eyes.
You gulped. This was such a fucking bad idea.
“I would like that,” he said, voice all soft and gentle. And just like that, you were a goner. No turning back now.
“Come on,” you sighed, stepping around him to continue in the direction of your apartment. It was a bit silly still hanging onto the empty coffee cup, but all you could focus on was the near-silent footfalls behind you as you tried to come up with the best way to sneak a naked android werewolf into your apartment.
***
As it turned out, dealing with the android was a lot less surreal when he had clothes on, even if it was a pair of sweatpants and a tight sweater that barely fit him. You’d have to order some clothes for him tomorrow
If he even wanted to hang around that long. You were under no illusion that if he wanted to leave, you wouldn’t be able to stop him, but for now he seemed content to stay.
The android was currently standing in your living room, fussing with the hem of the sweater that barely covered his waistline. You covered your mouth with your fingers in a poor attempt to hide a smile. Now that you were confident he wasn’t going to eat you, the android was actually quite adorable. You’d even cut out a hole in the back of the pants for him to pull his tail through.
You plopped down onto the couch and padded the cushion next to you. It had been a long time since you’d had a houseguest, and it said a lot about your state of loneliness that you were excited over having a strange android for company.
Said android stared at you for a moment before perching, quite primly, at the other end of the couch. The fact he had to move his tail out of the way before he sat down ruined the composed image he was trying to convey.
He really was very odd, and not just because of all the wolfy bits. This android seemed very much alive, a fact that should have had you picking up the phone to call the authorities. But… you didn’t.
Instead, you bombarded him with questions. What was his name? Where did he come from? Was he a custom model? How had he been injured? The wound looked ghastly, but he hardly noticed it. You made a mental note to add Thirium and android chassis repair sealant to the shopping list. You’d never owned an android before, but you’d always been fascinated with them and knew the basics of what they needed.
“RK900,” was his answer to your first question. He skipped over to the third. “I am… I was a prototype created by CyberLife to assist law enforcement. It would be safer for you if I said nothing further.”
Unable to imagine an android like this working with the police, you guessed he’d looked different, before. More like a standard android instead of one so altered he was nearly unrecognizable.
“Okay, I won’t pry,” you said, amassing all your willpower not to assault him with more questions, the biggest one being why do you look like something out of my deepest, darkest, most shameful wetdream? Yes, you were definitely not venturing into that territory.
Your next question was caught on a yawn, and you looked away as your face grew warm. He was just an android, why were you being so self-conscious about every little thing you did?
It could have been the way he’d watched you ever since you’d stumbled across him in the bushes: laser-like focus that never broke. It didn’t help that the sclera of his eyes were black, making the blue stand out even more.
Also, he didn’t blink. Like, ever.
“I’m gonna head to bed.” You thumbed over your shoulder toward the hallway. “Will you be all right out here? Do you need anything?”
“Yes,” he said. “And no.”
You were picking up on his mannerisms very quickly. He over-enunciated and spoke with perfect grammar. It was in direct contrast to the way his sharp nails toyed with the sweater, or the way his ears would swivel at sounds you barely noticed. At some points in the conversation, he would tilt his head at you in a way that was so dog-like, you had to keep fighting down the smiles. You’d definitely never met an android like this one before, even if he had looked perfectly human.
“I will be fine,” the RK900 added when you continued to stare. “I will rest and repair. I have neglected to enter stasis mode for… quite some time now.”
His eyes dropped to the carpet, demeanor evasive and uncomfortable. It took everything you had not to reach out and pet him on the head.
“I shouldn’t intrude in your personal space. I will be gone in the morning.”
And then you did reach out, placing your hand on his arm. He was solid and surprisingly warm under the fabric of the sweater.
He stared at your hand for a moment before slowly lifting his head to meet your eye. His expression was so… sad. You had no doubt it was authentic, and that you were right about what he was.
“Please, you don’t have to go.” Your voice was soft, ensuring it was a suggestion and not a command. “You’re more than welcome to stay. I want to help you. Will you let me do that?”
The ring on his temple was a solid yellow and you nearly pulled your hand back, but then it went blue and he gave a small nod. You sighed with relief and gave him a gentle pat before letting him go.
“Thank you.” You rose to your feet, stretching to get the kinks out of your shoulders. It was stressful bringing a wayward android home. “I’m just down the hall if you need me. See you in the morning.”
Before you made it to the hallway, you paused and half-turned.
“Do you have a name?”
He blinked up at your question.
“I mean, I know RK900 is your model number, but… you have a name, don’t you?”
His ears drooped. You were learning they were a better indicator of his thoughts than the color of his LED.
“No. CyberLife never gave me one.”
Of course they wouldn’t, you thought, not the first time you’d unhappy with the way androids were treated. CyberLife was by far the worst. Why would they care about any of their merchandise?
“Well, maybe you can come up with one.” You hoped he understood the things you weren’t saying aloud, that you understood what he really was beneath the strange exterior.
His ears perked up and his expression softened.
“That… would be nice.”
Before you could say anything to embarrass yourself, or worse, run over to him and give him a hug, you excused yourself to get ready for bed. Already your mind was going through a checklist of all the things you’d need to care for an android in the long-run, and that was being optimistic. The RK900 could still change his mind. There was still so much you didn’t know.
It wasn’t until you shut off the lights and stared at the ceiling that the implications of your actions truly hit you. You’d seen the news reports, read the independent websites that couldn’t be suppressed by CyberLife. There were androids out there, said to be “lethally malfunctioning,” that were disobeying and turning on their humans.
One of the most common signs to watch out for was mimicry of human emotions. Anger, was the main one, but there was also fear. And that was something you’d seen a lot of tonight shining out of the RK900’s eyes.
You weren’t just harboring an android that looked like a werewolf.
You were sheltering a deviant.

Cyber-Flustering ~ A Markiplier and Jacksepticeye Ego Fanfic
HERE WE HAVE ANOTHER WONDERFUL AND JAZZY ANONYMOUS PROMPT WITH OUR FAVOURITE GLITCHY BOY HECKIN GETTING IT! LET’S DO THIS!
TAGGING: @anti-switch-glitch and @googlee-oliver
This was it for Anti. He had five minutes. Five minutes left to figure out who was doing this to him. Three weeks ago, someone had set up an Instagram account. Anti knew it had to be an ego, because only someone he lived with could have gotten the videos and pictures that ended up being posted. Pictures of him smiling or mid-sneeze or interacting with Gab’s cat, and videos of him snort-laughing or giggling or crafting with Robbie or napping with three blankets wrapped around him. And everything was captioned with something calling out how cute he was being…..and in the bio of the account, was a message directly to him. Anti blushed as he looked at his phone, re-reading the bio for the millionth time.
“Hey Anti! I’m sure this account documenting all your cutest moments is flustering enough for you….but let’s take it up a level, shall we? If in three weeks to the day you still haven’t figured out who I am….then I’m going to find you, and tickle you on a lovely livestream for aaall the followers of this account to see! That’ll round off the content nicely, don’t you think? Can’t wait to see if you find me out or not, good luck!”
Anti tossed his phone on his bed and buried his face in his hands, whining as a flustered smile spread across his face. In the first week of the account being up he’d been like Sherlock Holmes, trying to analyse every single ego out of embarrassment at the world seeing all this content. However, he soon came to realise that the account was only letting fellow egos follow it and see the content, which made Anti feel far better about it. Also, as the days continued to go by…..though it was all still flustering, Anti at the same time felt more loved than he’d ever felt before. Not just from the complimentary captions, but the comments from the other egos were so….kind and sweet. He didn’t feel belittled or mocked, he just felt surrounded by love.
So, in the third week especially….Anti had kinda stopped trying to figure out who the person was. Frankly, the thought of being tickled with the egos as an audience made him kinda excited, especially with how he knew they all cared about him and still respected him and his strength whilst he still liked things like tickling. So Anti was now just waiting….and soon enough, the time flicked to 8pm…...and he got a message on Instagram….from the account itself. He nibbled his lip as he opened it and read it.
“Uh oh, looks like your time is up! If I’m honest, I’m glad that this is the outcome…..now, come to the main living room, it’s time for our little livestream!”
Anti gulped, but took a breath and hurriedly replied.
“I’m on my way.”
Thus, he got up, and headed to the living room….and as soon as he crossed the threshold, he got chills down his spine. The lights were dimmed, the main couch was very obviously set up with a pillow, and there was a phone set up on a tripod….already streaming. Anti tentatively walked in front of the camera, glancing at the screen, before looking around and calling out.
‘Alright….I-I’m here, you win….who are ya?’
Anti gulped when he suddenly heard a little giggle from the darkness….but NOTHING could have prepared him for who actually stepped out of the shadows. Anti gawked, gobsmacked as he looked the person up and down, before whispering in disbelief.
‘…..O-Oliver?’
The kind-hearted, sweet android with golden eyes giggled and grinned, his tongue poking out through his teeth as he sauntered to Anti, cooing to him.
‘Hey there GlitchyKitchy.’
Anti blushed….the damned name of the account was flustering enough by itself. Anti was astonished. Out of everyone that it could have been, Oliver was the literally the LAST person he would ever have suspected doing anything like this! It was so mischievous and sneaky, and now all Anti wanted to know was why the heck Oliver decided to take it upon himself to start this teasy vendetta against him.
‘I-I….I-….I-I don’t understand….why?’
Oliver grinned fondly at Anti. It was true, mischief and secrecy weren’t things that came naturally to Oliver, and he had to muster up some courage and determination to actually do all this….but he had a very compelling reason driving him. A reason which he now revealed to Anti with a sweet, affectionate smile.
‘Well…..almost everyday people tell me I’m sweet, or cute, or adorable. And every time I hear something like that it always just….lifts me up. It gives me butterflies, no matter how hard a day I’m having, hearing stuff like that from people makes me so happy. I wanted you to feel that too, because I think you deserve it.’
Anti blinked. He was just….lost for words. Oliver did this, made a secret account and spent all that time and effort collating flustering pictures and videos of him….just to try and make him happy? The usually wild man was struck silent with bashfulness, because this was literally the kindest, sweetest thing that anybody had ever done for him…..ever. Oliver’s internal processors whirred and warmed affectionately at seeing Anti be so struck and bashful and happy, and Oliver was so happy that he’d done this for the guy, because Oliver knew that behind the knife-play and wildness….Anti was a good person who deserved sweet attention like everyone else. Oliver went up to him, and Anti shivered at the android’s gentle smirk.
‘Now then, why don’t you have a little lie down?’
Anti nibbled his lip as he glanced to the couch, before clearing his throat and replying challengingly.
‘And if I don’t?’
Oliver giggled. It was a sweet sound, but it gave Anti chills, especially with what Oliver said next.
‘Oh Anti, don’t forget that I’m an android. I am just as strong as my brothers, and I could make you lie down with only one hand if I really wanted to. I want to be nice to you Anti….do you want me to be nice to you?’
Anti got more chills. He never thought he’d see the day where Oliver, the sweetest of them all, made him feel flustered and intimidated. Anti nibbled his lip lightly, before averting his gaze with a nervous smile.
‘Y-Yeah….I guess….’
‘Good, now get yourself comfy!’
Anti bashfully lay down on the couch on his back, squirming as he get comfortable, trying to school himself and at least make it look like he had at least SOME resolve to be working with. Alas, this was foiled when Oliver sat on the edge of the couch and gasped brightly as he gestured to the livestream.
‘Oh look, there’s so many people watching already! Everyone must reeeally wanna see you get tickled Anti.’
Anti ended up smiling a shaky smile and letting out a quiet whine as he look anywhere he could except for the livestream. It was a noise which the ordinary person probably wouldn’t hear, but with Oliver being a Google, he heard it alright. The first cute noise of many. Oliver giggled, wasting no more time as he straddled Anti’s legs and kept Anti’s arms pinned beneath his knees, and Anti let him, because he knew that Oliver was the one with the power here. The squirming man let out another quiet whine as Oliver lightly cracked his knuckles, before waggling his eyebrows and wiggling his fingers in the air playfully.
‘Oh where oh where to tickle first! You’ve got so many sweet spots to choose from!’
Anti pursed his lips as he retorted embarrassedly.
‘I-I do not!’
Oliver raised an eyebrow as he giggled affectionately.
‘Oh yeah? You sure about that? Because I’ve already spied two cute lil tickle spots riiight….here!’
Anti gasped and yelped as Oliver reached and started gently scratching behind his (small, elf-like and adorable) ears, and the poor guy just burst into jittery giggles. Oliver felt like he was going to melt, because Anti’s natural non-maniacal giggles were the sweetest things ever.
‘AGH! N-Nahahat gehehet ahahaway!’
Oliver grinned at his cute protests, and kept softly scratching as he cooed.
‘Awww but your little ears are so cuuute, I can’t not tickle them! Plus, these are your consequences for not figuring out who I was.’
Anti kept giggling as he tossed his head about, but nothing could dislodge the gentle tickling. So, through pinker cheeks and splutters, Anti tried a threat out for size.
‘I-Ihihihi’ll b-bihihite yohohou!’
Oliver giggled at the threat, because when it came from someone consumed by bouncy giggles it didn’t exactly fill Oliver with fear. On the contrary, it gave him some inspiration. Allow me to present to you, the biggest backfire in tickling history.
‘Not if I bite you first!’
Oliver purred, before eagerly diving down and nibbling the shell of one of Anti’s ears, making him squeal in ticklish shock and kick his feet at the new, evil sensation. His giggles reached a much higher pitch too, and he realised that he’d literally just brought that on himself.
‘Nahahaha ohohoho my gahahahad!!’
‘Mmmmm nummyyy!’
Oliver hummed, making Anti squeak more and blush harder as the goofy android made the silliest nomming noises that he possibly could as he nibbled all over Anti’s ear. The fact that Oliver was being so silly rather than sinister with his tickling affected Anti more, it made him giddier. Usually if someone tried to intimidate im amidst tickling, it hardened his resolve because he could bite back, but with silliness it just turned him into happy mush.
‘S-Stahahahap wihihith the nohohohisehes yohou gohohoof!!’
‘But I can’t help it! It’s in my programing to make noises when I eat!’
Oliver retorted to Anti’s exclamation, making Anti snort and shake his head at this absolute gooby goofer of an android.
‘Thahahat ihihihis suhuhuch buhuhullshit!’
Oliver gasped. Oh he was NOT having that kind of language!
‘Hey! Don’t be so rude!’
Oliver nipped right behind Anti’s ear, making Anti yelp and jerk his head to the side adorably as he exclaimed VERY quickly.
‘Ohohohokahay okAHAY! Ihihi’m sohohorry!’
Oliver giggled, and leant up because he was always nice at heart, and he ruffled Anti’s already messy hair gently as he replied.
‘Apology accepted! Now then, where to tickle next?’
Oliver started tapping his chin in thought as his eyes flicked down over Anti’s body, which made the man squirm in adorable anticipation. You know when a tickler is looking all over your body, trying to decide where to go, and it feels like you’re being scanned? Well, this time it was literal, which made it all the more flustering for Anti because he knew Oliver could see ever little nerve in his body. Oliver giggled amusedly at Anti’s restlessness.
‘Yohou’re such a cute lil wriggler!’
Anti pursed his lips, and ended up letting out a half-growl half-whine sort of noise as he replied.
‘O-Only cuz you’re t-teasin’!’
Oliver giggled again, before beaming brightly as he replied.
‘Ahaawww I’m sorry, would you rather I just got on with it? Okey dokey! Let’s try these ribs shall we?’
Anti spluttered at the sudden shift, which meant he couldn’t prepare any defence as Oliver’s fingers darted to his ribcage, scratching light and fast in the most diabolical way. Anti was a mess of cackles in seconds, arching his back as he babbled.
‘NAHAHA NAHA W-WAHAHAIT OHOHLIII!’
Oliver put on a mock innocent expression, cocking his head down at Anti like butter wouldn’t freakin’ melt.
‘But you wanted me to just get on with it didn’t you?’
Anti whined through his cackles, and as he tried to retort, Oliver picked that moment to spontaneously pinch his uppermost ribs. Let’s just say that as a result, Anti didn’t get across everything that he wanted to say.
‘IHIHI NEHEHEVER SAHAHAID-EEEK!’
‘Never said what? Sorry bud, I don’t think even my sensors could catch that!’
Oliver replied with a teasy giggle, and decided to keep pinching the new sweet spots which had Anti thrashing and yipping amidst his open mouthed cackling fit. He was so flustered and giddy and loving how playful the tickling was, he’d never admit it obviously, but he was loving it none the less, despite his faux protests.
‘NAHAHAT THEHEHERE NAHAT THEHEHEEEERE!’
Oliver grinned fondly, and lean down nice and close to him so he could croon as he kept tickling him.
‘Awww this is another sweet spot isn’t it? Riiight at the top of the ribbies!’
‘OHOHOHOLIHI C’MOHOHOON!’
Anti wailed at the teasing, which made Oliver hum down at him with playful nonchalance.
‘Well, where is it you’d rather I tickle?’
Anti’s blush was creeping down his neck now, and he threw his head back with all his mind-swirling flusteredness as he exclaimed cutely.
‘IHIHIHI DUHUHUNNOHOOO!’
Oliver couldn’t keep the grin off his face now, Anti was just too endearing and perfect not to constantly smile at. Oliver kept up the tickling as he subtly glanced over Anti’s body again….before spying that Anti’s t-shirt had had ridden up, thus exposing a rather precious little button. Oliver chuckled, before cocking his head at Anti.
‘Are you sure you want me to stop tickling your ribs?’
Amidst his mirth, Anti hadn’t noticed Oliver’s little ploy, and he didn’t think….he just nodded.
‘YESYESYESYESYEHEHEHES!’
‘Okey dokey!’
Oliver let up with a bright smile, and let Anti gasp and pant for a few moments, since he was a sweet tickler like that. Anti was relieved for the time Oli gave him to get his breath back, and he slowly refocused on the android….but then his eyes widened as he watched where Oliver was headed. The android had shifted a little further down, and now had his lips hovering over Anti’s bellybutton. The poor glitch was speechless, which allowed Oliver to grin, wink, and then blow a rippling raspberry right onto his navel. Anti just absolutely screamed with laughter.
‘AAAAAHHHHHHH!!! OHOHOHOLIHIHIHAHAHAHA!!!’
Oliver gasped in amazement at Anti’s strong reaction, and eagerly blew another raspberry to make Anti shriek before he teased.
‘How’s this Anti? Do you like this better? I think I do!’
Anti was shrieking with wild laughter, kicking his legs and arching his back sharply at each raspberry, and the poor man as just becoming more and more incoherent by the second.
‘OLIHIHIHIIIII IHIHIHIT TIHIHIHICKAHAHAHA!!!’
‘Wohoah, it must really tickle if you can’t finish your words! I’m so glad I did this, you look like you’re having lots of fun!’
Of course, despite how mad and intense it was, this was the truth. Anti was loving the hell out of every tickly and torturous second, and in all honesty this was probably going to end up being the highlight of Anti’s whole freakin’ month.
‘SHUHUHUHUT UHUHUHUHAHAHA!!!’
Oliver giggled, and nuzzled his nose into Anti’s navel as he cooed.
‘Oops, did I fluster you a lil bit there?’
Anti had tears in his eyes as he writhed about…..before his laughter went silent. Oliver smiled fondly and leant up, having mercy properly now because he could see that Anti had taken as much as he could take. The android carefully released Anti’s arms as the man panted and caught his breath, but then Oliver’s felt his heart-core swell when Anti grinned up at him and spoke amidst giggles.
‘Yohou….ahare the mohost mischiehevous cute person….Ihi’ve ever mehet….oho jeez….’
Anti hugged his middle, rubbing it as Oliver beamed bashfully, before replying brightly.
‘Well I could say the same about you!’
Anti giggled, and smiled when Oliver helped him sit up, as well as promptly giving him a loving cuddle. Then though, Anti’s blush bloomed once more when Oliver turned to the still-going livestream, and he hid his face in his hands when he suddenly remembered that every ego had been watching all of that. He whined as Oliver grinned and addressed it.
‘Well, I think we can all agree that this was pretty freakin’ cute! Now, if any of you guys wanna give our trooper here a cuddle then you’d better get down here quick before I take over!’
Anti snorted and giggled embarrassedly at first…but then, he nearly got new tears in his eyes when he suddenly heard sounds of stampeding, hurrying footsteps throughout the whole of the manor. Anti smiled, and Oliver grinned, satisfied that he’d completed his mission…..because Anti definitely felt happy, and oh so loved.
WOOOO HOPE YOU ALL LIKED THIS FIC LEMME KNOW IF YA DID WOOOO LUV YOUS XX

as heavy as the snow falls (i fall for you)
„Hello Detective. I am Connor, the Android sent by CyberLife.“ The android sent to replace me, you think but it’s not what you say. Instead, you look up from your $1 instant noodles, and freeze. Oh god, you think. Oh god, fuck. They made it CUTE.
Chapter One;  It's just another day to pretend (I’m feeling okay)
Hank had warned you.
“They sent one of those plastic pricks to help investigate that deviant shit”, he had told you.
You just thought he was messing with you, a good old joke to welcome you back. That was until you were officially allowed to get back to work;
you had annoyed your doctor into releasing you from sick-leave and partly got what you wanted — except that you were stuck on desk-duty. But that was better than being stuck at home. You never thought you’d be sick of your apartment walls but there you were.
After almost two and a half months, you finally walked back into the precinct.
Gavin was the first one to give that face — an ugly smirk, splitting open his mouth and showing his teeth, like a warning, like a threat. He didn’t say anything — he didn’t have to. That smirk alone, creepy enough to give you goose bumps, told you everything you need to know.
Hank didn’t mess with you. They sent an Android to replace you in your own investigation.
“Glad to see you’re back”, Gavin greeted you, though, and you forced a smile at your desk-partner. “Were you getting bored without me?”, you asked and tried to forget the obnoxious smirk he had thrown at you just a second ago. “You know me, baby”, he laughed and slapped on your shoulder. He disappeared behind you and you were left unguarded without any distraction. Everybody was staring at you and you weren’t sure if those looks were painted in relief or pity.
Silently you sat down at your desk, towers of paper stacked everywhere, and started to work. A few of your colleagues stopped by, asking how you were doing, being shot multiple times and all, and that they were happy you were back safe and sound – they didn’t say anything about Hank, or the Android. Their eyes, though, their eyes betrayed them.
Fowler called you in an hour later or so, asking how you do — not that he’d really care, anyway — before sending you back to work. He didn’t say a word about Hank, or the Android. His eyes did.
Nothing has happened since.
Now, it’s almost one pm and desk duty is more boring that you anticipated — so boring, in fact, that you decide to take your break. Usually Gavin and you keep each other entertained and airdrop each other memes out of the nowhere but he’s nowhere to be seen. Also, you’re hungry as shit, as you skipped the breakfast this morning. Not only because you overslept but you’re also not really a breakfast person.
There is no sign of Hank or that infamous Android so you decide to shrug it off and bury your concerns under the $1 instant noodles you got stored in the lowest drawer of your desk; your emergency food and snack box, as you like to call it. Sometimes Gavin raids it when he feels like it but he has kept his promise about not telling anyone about your emergency food and snack box — so far.
And while it’s generally not too bad to have him right in front of you most of the time, he’s the person you want to avoid the most because, honestly, you don’t need his mockery and you are not in the mood to endure that stupid smirk one more time. There is a possibility that you just try to punch it off his face.
He did leave the precinct when you entered it, so he’s probably off at some crime-scene.
You glance towards the empty Break Room and see your chance. You take one of the spicy chicken instant noodles, your all-time favorite, and speed as fast into the Break Room as your body allows you to; it’s still heavy sometimes and your movements are slowed by pain and stiffness.
Nobody disturbs you while you prepare the kettle and get a can of coke out of the fridge. The only sound remarkable to you is the news channel and by now the threat of a war outbreak has become too old to still be shocking.
You take your phone and skip through your messages, ignoring most of them except the ones from your mom to which you reply yes mom, work is going great so far. I’m stuck at desk-duty until my doctor gives me the green light, before you switch to your social media.
Caught up in some memes, you only notice Hank when he’s standing right in front of you.
“Listen kid”, he says, shrugging. “I didn’t ask for this either.” His voice sounds grumpy and unhappy and he looks like he just got out of bed which wouldn’t be a surprise, actually, and he still reeks a bit of beer.
And with that said, he leaves you alone again and you stay behind, slightly dumbfounded and just unnecessarily more confused than you already are. Why do they all behave like you’re already fired because some stupid robot took your cases?! Fuck them. As if there isn’t enough shit going on in Detroit. You could go back to work on the Red Ice cases with Gavin; Red Ice cases have everything you want – adrenalin, excitement, relentless pursuits, the subtle threat of danger and you get to bust high wanted criminals. The only thing that makes you avoid Gavin’s Red Ice cases is, in fact, Gavin himself.
It’s not like you don’t like Gavin; he is your desk-partner so you’re kind of forced to like him and you know you can count on him, he did save your life after all, and you like discussing the latest gossip with him — nobody would ever think that he is such a gossip bitch — and not only did he message you multiple times during the last weeks to make sure you’re good, he also stayed in the hospital until you woke up.
It’s just … It’s Reed, he’s a dickhead most of the time, and is only relaxed after he got laid or had at least 3.5 beers.
“The fuck’s going on”, you mutter under your breath. You’re annoyed and by now a thick, gray thunder cloud has formed over your head. Frustrated you stare into the still half-filled cup in front of you; that’s a very you thing to do – looking for answers in ramen soup.
„Hello Detective. I am Connor, the Android sent by CyberLife.“
The android sent to replace me, you think but it’s not what you say. Instead, you look up from your $1 instant noodles, and freeze.
Oh god, you think. Oh god, fuck. They made it CUTE.
For a moment, all you can do is stare at the Android in front of you; his innocent, deep eyes with just the right amount of honesty and the sparkle for fair justice within them, the faint freckles on his nose and the friendly, but still kind of forced smile on his lips — it looks a smile you’d give to Gavin sometimes. His LED blinks yellow for a second and you realize that that son of a bitch scanned you; you bite down a sneaky comment on how rude that is — he probably doesn’t know any better, you decide and you swallow the mean comment down before it can escape your mouth.
“Hi, Connor”, you manage to blur out instead. “You probably heard of me.” As you took all my open cases, thank you very much.
“Yes, I have. I am sorry to hear that you were fatally shot eleven weeks and three days ago. I am glad to see you recovered.” He smiles that forced smile again — seriously, where the hell did he pick that one up?! — and you raise your eyebrows at the weirdly accurate time span.  “You are the Detective to have worked on the cases concerning Deviants before, correct?”
You take the still half-filled cup of instant noodles and throw them away, suddenly not hungry anymore.
“Correct”, you reply. “That was before I was shot. Seems like Hank and you took these cases.”
His LED flickers again, probably analyzing the darker tone hidden in your friendly voice and it seems like he wants to say something but Gavin interrupts him. “Seems like you have met your replacement, he?!”, he laughs in your face and slaps Connor hard on the back, way harder than necessary, and the Android is forced to move a step forwards.
“Fuck off Reed”, you mutter. You are absolutely not in the mood for his games. He laughs and the sound rings in your ears in an almost obnoxious way.
“I must correct you, Detective Reed. I am not anyone’s replacement”, Connor says, his voice neutral and even, like the voice of an Android is supposed to be. “Sure, you plastic fucker”, Gavin snorts. “Just stay the fuck away from me, got it?” — “For heaven’s sake, Gavin, leave it alone”, you sigh and shake your head. “It ain’t do anything to you personally. Take your issues out on someone else.”
Gavin throws a dark glare at you, one that says he’d wished you got shot with one more bullet, before releasing Connor from his hard grip and leaving the Break Room, cursing under his breath.
“Don’t mind him”, you say to Connor, shaking your head. “He likes to provoke.”
Connor tilts his head to the side. “Most humans are uncomfortable in the presence of Androids. Just as you, Detective.”
You cough. “Gavin isn’t uncomfortable, he’s just an asshole.”
You decide to ignore what he said about you — he’s partly right —but only partly, though you don’t feel like emphasizing this right now.
You yourself never had an Android, and you never saw why anyone would need one — that was until your parents had that car accident, your father died and your mother was left paralyzed and with only one arm. It was either giving up the job you love so much and not being able to afford literally anything, or getting an Android who would take care of her. You went for the latter option and it’s not like you regret it; the Android they recommend you at the CyberLife store is actually pretty sweet and sends you regular updates about your mother whenever she herself can’t find the strength to check on you. When you got shot and were in the hospital, it was the first time you felt truly thankful having that Android around — an AP something model, you don’t know jack shit about it. Your mother named her Hope. Thinking about it hurts you only a little.
You throw yourself back into reality and realize you have been just staring at Connor the past minute or so. You cough again, now being uncomfortable, and try to keep the red flash on your cheeks hidden.
“Do you already have a desk, Connor?”, you ask, changing the topic without even trying to be subtle.
“Yes, I use the one in front of Lieutenant Anderson.”
You stare over to Hank who is watching you with a certain glow in his eyes. “Of course”, you say, looking away from Hank and back at Connor. “Look”, you start, and shrug, “I’m on desk-duty for the next few weeks and officially off the cases anyway. They’re all yours, so I’ll transfer you all I have, evidence and personal notes I made. Maybe you’re luckier than me.” You shrug and leave the Break Room, leaving that Android, Connor, behind.
Obviously you are not happy to give up your open cases — you did work hard on them and all the evidence you collected wasn’t exactly easy to gather. Deviancy is a fresh and new thing and you were excited to be the Detective to figure it out. Then you got shot by some asshole because you grew too confident and thought you could take them on your own. You almost had to pay with your life for your cockiness, so maybe it’s better this way, you suppose.
Gavin doesn’t say anything to you when you sit down at your desk and stare blankly at the screen for a moment, not knowing what you’re supposed to do. Most paperwork is done and all your open cases have been reassigned. Seems like you’ll go back to investigate robberies.
You sigh deeply and send all the files and evidence you got saved on your terminal over to Hank before leaning back in your chair.
“Sorry for snapping at you earlier, Gav”, you say to Gavin who just rumbles something under his breath without looking at you. Without thinking about it, you open your emergency food and snack box, take the package of garlic bread and throw it at Gavin.
“Why don’t you have a piece of bread and maybe you’ll come down”, you laugh at him and now you at least get an annoyed grin. “Fuck you”, he says and you laugh.
“Hey”, he says then, “Tina told me about a series of robberies downtown. You should take those cases. It ain’t nothing too wild and it might get you back in shape.” He rips open the package.
You stare at him for a few seconds before realizing that you are indeed back on robberies. Great!
You sigh deeply.
“Sure”, is all you say and Gavin is smart enough to stay quiet, silently munching his garlic bread.
The excitement you felt this morning about going back to work has made room for nothing but frustration.
It’s eating you from the inside out, turns your lungs around and for a second you can feel the holes the bullets left in your body.
This week is starting great.

Do You Understand ?
Chapter 4/9 - Link to MasterList in reblog
Summary: Okay maybe not telling anyone anything wasn’t such as a good idea... Especially your dad the guy who’s job is to investigate things...
Tw: dissociation caused by trauma response.
The signing process didn’t last long. The landlord was fairly straight to the point, and she couldn’t know that he had already finished reading the pages set in front of him before her explaining what the rules were and what needed to be signed. She didn’t seem to comment on Connor’s lack of emotional responses to things or how his face appeared to be stuck in perpetual angry limbo. In fact, she seemed to be more understanding than any of his “friends” were and not taking offense when his attention wandered elsewhere when she droned a bit about policies he already knew. She even smiled at him at one point and it was weird to Connor how he just realized how rarely anyone smiled (most from Nines) so genuinely at him without hidden intentions.
Afterwards, he retrieved the keys from her and hiked up the singular bag to head upstairs to the 4th floor for his room. He caught a sadness and sympathy in her eyes that he really wasn’t sure where it was coming from. Was she humanizing him? Makes sense with this beanie hiding his LED, but he still couldn’t decipher what she was assuming about him. He pushed it from his mind as he unlocked the door and walked in, locking it behind.
He wasn’t sure what he expected. It was very barren, desolate with all the lights shut off like this. The sun was already starting to set and began casting long shadows inside. He didn’t mind since he could just see in the dark, but it felt lonely like this. He turned on the main living room light at the least since the apartment was open planned with only a small island wall separating the kitchen. Two doors on the far end were assumed to be the bedroom and bathroom. On the right were fairly large windows to let light in in the morning and there was even a slim door that led out to a small patio with railing of sorts that might be able to house a plant or two at most. There were even two storage closets near the door and near the kitchen, that one actually contained a washer and dryer duo unit now that he thinks about it. He knew he knew the actual layout of this place with no problem, but he just didn’t care. It didn’t matter much to him really. As an android, he really didn’t need much to work with, just his charging port that he packed with him if he was honest. Or at least he’d make sure that was all he needed.
Trying one of the further doors, he found the bathroom, bare minimum with tub, toilet, sink and small wall mirror. The bathroom was also connected to the room through their shared wall so he just used that door to go into the bedroom. It was big enough to hold maybe a standard bed and small dresser at most but again that didn’t bother him. The wall had one of those in built closets like Hank had and it somehow flares the pain that had settled low in his abdominal cavity and refused to leave. It didn’t matter because he was doing this to protect himself and make everything easier for everyone else. This was to make it far easier to separate himself from everyone. To hide. So he plopped his bag down and set about unpacking his very pathetic amount of items. Tomorrow he’ll deal with furniture truly; he’ll most likely just order it online and figure out pick up/delivery then too.
He relaxed a bit against one of the walls when his internal phone started ringing again. Hank. Shit.
“Hello, Lieutenant.”
“Hey, Connor.” Oh that didn’t sound good. He had that stern voice put on, like a dad about to lecture his kid.
“What can I offer you with this call,” Connor really wasn’t sure where to go with this.
“So I called Markus when I got home.”
“Mhm.” The alarm bells in Connor’s head went off. He knew relying so heavily on miscommunication would backfire. Idiot.
“And asked him about that little meeting you supposedly had today to ask if it would be alright if I came by to pick you up so you weren’t going home alone. Since you told me about that little worry of yours earlier.”
“Yes.” Connor felt the panic start to rise inside him a bit, his voice kept leveled and his face calm, but internally? Freaking out.
“Where are you, Connor?” and there it was. He was fucked. Okay lying would be the stupid thing to do right now.
“I’m at New Jericho, I’m not sure what you’re asking?” Connor auto replied. He needs to do a diagnostic on that top notch Social Relation Protocol.
“Oh really,” Hank’s voice turned low, “Don’t fucking lie to me right now unless you want to dig your grave deeper, Connor.”
Connor stayed silent worried his auto replies might do just that.
“Hmm well Markus also told me an interesting tidbit. Apparently yesterday you blew up on everyone and fucked off. Heavy topics and no big deal, my ass!” Connor could tell that Hank was getting riled up.
“Where. Are. You. Connor,” Hank said with much more aggression after Connor continued to stay silent.
Connor really didn’t know what to say. Hank was bound to find out he so unceremoniously moved out, he wasn’t sure why he was even hesitating right now to tell him that.
“I noticed this morning that your clothes were missing from the bathroom, and I found it odd, but I just assumed you moved them. Yet when I got back home and actually started looking, I noticed that it seems all your stuff is gone! Even the fucking manta ray plushie is gone!”
Connor really didn’t know why he thought Hank wouldn’t notice this quickly especially since he was already suspicious of Connor since this morning too. He took a deep breath to prepare himself for what was about to happen.
“WHERE-”
“I’m in my apartment,” rushed out of Connor in one synthetic breath.
Hank didn’t answer for a couple seconds. “Your apartment…”
“Yes.”
“When the fuck have you had an apartment? In fact, how do-”
“Just last night.” Connor focused on just trying to keep calm. He could do this. He was an interrogator. Just treat this as an interrogation.
“Last night… and when did you think you’d tell me about this?! Did you think you could just book it with your shit, and I wouldn't notice!” Hank could be loud when he wanted to be. And honestly, Connor did think he wouldn’t care enough to notice for at least a day or two. It’s not like Connor owned that many items in the first place to notice gone as proven by the sad bag slumped next to him on the floor.
“I knew you would notice, but I was uncertain on how to approach the topic. I thought I would have more time to tell you, but I assumed wrong.”
“Damn right you assumed wrong! How could you not understand-”
Connor didn’t even register whatever was said next. He heard that accursed word and felt himself shut down. The panic receded just as quickly as the tsunami of that same anger from yesterday overwhelmed him in seconds.
“Don’t say that word,” He didn’t even notice he murmured anything from the haze surrounding him until Hank went silent and asked a far quieter “what?” than his prior volume.
“Don’t say that fucking word,” Connor stated far louder. He distantly felt how tense his whole body seemed to have become, fists trembling and he wouldn’t doubt his LED was burning bright red under the beanie he still had yet to remove.
“I don’t understand. What word?” Hank asked, confusion clear in his voice. There also seemed to be a bit of concern that Connor’s system registered, but he ignored that as that was impossible.
Connor couldn’t handle it, the feelings inside were too much, and he didn’t want a repeat of yesterday. He could control himself. Cyberlife drilled into his head how he had to stay calm and in control at all times. He can’t fail this simple rule.
So he simply shut everything down. He quickly quarantined everything. He immediately cut his call with Hank as it was his source of stress. He needed everything to shut down. To not think. Hank kept trying to call him back, to get some sort of answer, but it was too late. Connor disconnected from everything and felt himself float off. This was much nicer, just not aware of anything. That anger and panic was all gone. The guilt too. He was just existing, his body’s eyes stared unblinking, unmoving at the wall ahead. Sure it was dangerous how he wasn’t able to register anything nor had any clue where he was anymore, but it was quiet.
Eventually, he slowly returned to his body. Became aware of the twitching of his fingers, the gentle rise and fall of his chest, the sounds of cars passing outside below him. He blinked and came back into himself looking around and noticing it was far darker than before. Checking his internal clock showed that he lost 2 hours to whatever that was. He couldn’t help the annoyance he felt from apparently having another malfunction happening to him. The anger and emptiness from yesterday weren’t necessarily a malfunction, but he shouldn’t be able to lose control of himself like that (thus he was malfunctioning). He lost control of himself in a different manner here and still felt himself almost floating even now. Checking his notifications revealed countless number of missed calls from Hank, Nines, Mark, even North and numerous texts and internal messages, but he just ignored them again. He clearly needed to cut himself off from them all. They were causing him to glitch and fail like this by overwhelming him beyond his control. He can’t let that happen.
After some shuffling, he managed to set up his charging port, plugged himself in and set himself into stasis.

Coffee, crushes and Complications Prequel
This was prompted by an amazing anon! just a warning, this short got dark real quick. So please, heed the warnings and stay safe! It has a happy ending, but I have said in the other parts Gavin hit rock bottom, so I had to make him hit rock bottom. He does recover in the end and gets back on track that has him being happy as we know from part 1 and 2. It’s just a hard contrast, therefore I wanted to warn you. I hope you still enjoy heavy angst!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Characters: Gavin Reed, Tina Chen (Warnings: depression, description of depressive behaviours, Character thinks about suicide, implied suicide attempt (that doesn’t happen, not even the attempt!), suicidal thoughts) If you want to skip the suicide related part skip from “It was two weeks...” to “Tina! Tina, don’t say anything!”
[Part1]   [Part2]   [Part3]   [Part4]
‚Hey, Boss, what’s up?‘ Gavin marched into Fowlers office with a grin and a spring in his step. He had all his cases solved in record time and had finally endured the cry-babies of machines that had come in lately with stories of assault and attempted murder. What had they expected simply stopping to work to looked like? But he had done nothing wrong, at least nothing Fowler could prove, and that was the most important thing. ‘You are fired, Gavin.’ Gavin blinked. He must have misheard something. ‘The phck?’ ‘You are fired, Detective Reed. Hand in your badge and pistol and pack your things.’ ‘What? Why?’ ‘Why?!’ Fowler stood up and leaned over the table. ‘You really even dare to ask that?’ ‘Errr…. Yes?’ ‘Well, then sit down and get comfortable, because I have a whole fucking list!’, the Captain shouted. ‘And I finally can say what I wanted to tell you for so long, because I will finally get rid of you now!’ Gavin did sit down, but not because he wanted to. His knees had suddenly failed him.
‘First of all: You are a real asshole.’ ‘Yes, I know but-‘ ‘I don’t mean it in a funny way!’, Fowler interrupted. ‘You are a true asshole. A bad person. You treat your co-workers as if they personally attacked you. You are unable to work in a team without sabotaging the whole mission for your benefit. You actively try to make others look worse than you are so you seem like the best one. You are so obsessed with getting promoted you fail to do your work, you are constantly breaking protocol and don’t think I didn’t realise! I did. I just never said anything because, shit, sometimes that was an advantage. But this was the final misstep, Reed! I can’t tolerate your shit any longer!’ Gavin swallowed, then threatened: ‘And what should that be exactly?’ He let his anger speak for himself, but deep inside his guts had twisted into a tight ball.
Fowler leaned back. ‘Your anti-android behaviour. Fucking hell, I thought you would learn with time. I thought you would catch up to the others. But no, you continue calling androids names, calling them “it” instead of he, she or they and treating them like malfunctioning machines. These people come to us for help and you laugh them in the face!’ Gavin huffed amused, then outright laughed in Fowler’s face. ‘Captain, that’s a good joke. You don’t actually believe… They are not human. They will never be. Phck, I wouldn’t even consider them persons. They are some fancy part of machinery, so complexly programmed that maybe they even believe themselves to be persons. But they are not! They are objects, robots. And some fancy revolution and new laws can’t change that simple fact!’ ‘And that’s why I have to fire you. I can’t have you interrogating someone knowing you will personally dismantle them if they don’t talk! They are machines. But they are persons too. And you have to respect that. Fuck, Gavin, what did you think?’ ‘I thought and still think they are not alive. It doesn’t matter what you do to them, it’s just simulated. They don’t feel a thing.’ ‘Are you really sure about that?’, Fowler asked, weirdly calm considering he had been furious just before. ‘Even after Connor?’ ‘Connor is a big reason for me being absolutely certain’, Gavin said.
‘Then hand in your badge and service weapon.’ Gavin stared at the outstretched palm. ‘Oh, come on, Jeffrey, you can’t do this to me. I’m your best man!’ ‘I can, I will and I must. And you haven’t been my best officer for a long time. Hank is back – thanks to that apparently lifeless android Connor – and the RK800 is the best Detective you can wish for. Now, I won’t repeat myself.’ Gavin was sitting there completely numb. He didn’t even have energy left in him to complain and that was saying something. He pulled his pistol out of the holster and handed it over, before unclipping his badge. He looked down on the polished metal with his name on it and thought back to the day he had been handed it. How proud he had been. How much of his pride still was engraved in this piece of metal. He had worked hard for this and by now… Shit, this little piece of leather and metal basically was his whole identity. He pushed his thumb over the letters. G. Reed.
‘The badge, Reed.’ He blinked, took a deep breath, held it and pressed the badge into Fowler’s hand. Then he stood up and pressed out: ‘That’s all?’ ‘That’s all.’ Gavin contemplated saying something. Something witty maybe, or something mean, something that would hurt and gave him that little satisfaction of revenge, even if it didn’t mean much. But he couldn’t think of anything, his head was filled with cotton and everything tingled with numbness. So, he just nodded and left, trying to keep up his composure. It was hard without the added weight on his hip that had made his step a bit broader than it normally was. He stared at the ground not to have to look into their faces. Would they laugh? Would they care? Or worse: would they pity him? Whatever they might feel towards him leaving, he couldn’t face it and so he just took what little possessions he had decorated his table with and left. ‘Hey, Gavin, what’s-‘ That was Tina, but Gavin had already passed the security gates and as soon as he was outside the building he ran to his car, dropping his things on the passenger seat and starting the engine to speed off. He was just moments away from a total breakdown, the fact that others might see him and that he couldn’t drive in that state the only thing keeping his composure up. He parked the car messily in front of his apartment, took his things and stumbled up the stairs in a hurry. He barely managed to unlock the door, dropping his keys once and failing to pick them up first try as his eyes had blurred over.
Then finally he was inside, had closed the door and dropped his things on his sideboard, before leaning on it heavily finally allowing his feelings to spill over. He knelt in front of the small wooden furniture, his hands holding onto the edge to keep him steady somewhere. How could this happen? He was untouchable. He was good at his job. He was damn good at his job. He wasn’t good at anything else. He had only ever been a Detective and… Oh god, he didn’t have a job anymore. He wouldn’t be able to pay his rent. He could make it a few months, but he would have to find something else soon and oh god, what if he had to give his cat away and phck he didn’t have a job anymore and… Did the whole world hate him?
He half kneeled, half sat there, crying, his stomach cramping and heaving and trying to keep his meal down through it all. His shoulders shook and he didn’t trust his hands or his legs for that matter. Standing up was out of question. He crawled over to the wall to prep himself up against it and the sideboard, that was about all he did that day, crying until no more tears would come, his nose was hurting and the muscles of his abdomen aching from overuse. He was thirsty, but at the same time it didn’t matter. He was cold but hell, what did that mean? He needed a shower to get out of his partially wet clothes and maybe feel human again. But he knew he wouldn’t even make it to the living room. So why bother? He didn’t move and tried not to think.
He woke up still in the same position and sat up with his back cracking. Something warm shifted against his legs and stretched. He looked down on his cat, who looked up to him as if asking why her human was so upset. ‘I phcked up, Bready. I’m sorry.’ He scratched her behind the ears. ‘And I haven’t given you anything yet, have I? Sorry. You must be starving. Come on, daddy will get you something.’ With that he finally managed to stand up, but still had to lean against the wall, waiting for his circulation to catch up. He carried himself into the kitchen, gave Bready her food and threw himself a frozen pizza into the oven not wanting any poor delivery guy to see him like this.
He rubbed his forehead that by now hurt like a thousand needles from his dehydration headache. So, he opened the fridge and his eyes fell on his liquor collection. Should he… But it would only make things worse. Could things go worse? To be honest, he just wanted to sleep. He should save the alcohol for tomorrow when he would need it. He ate his pizza, drank his water, forced himself to take a shower and dropped into bed. Maybe this was all just a bad dream.
-
It wasn’t. He was awoken by his alarm, had sat up and halfway left the bed as he remembered that right, no work to go to. Rubbing his face and scrunching it up as he rested his face in his hand, he thought about what to do. In the end he did stand up to give Bready her food and retreat back to bed. She soon joined him, a welcome weight against his legs. As he woke up hours later, she was still there, and Gavin watched her for a while. Damn, why couldn’t he have been born a fat, carefree housecat? He fetched his phone, tried to switch it on and sighed as it wouldn’t. He struggled to get the charger out without disturbing Bready. When he finally could switch on his phone, he immediately was bombarded with messages and missed calls from Tina. He read over them but deleted the notifications from the calls and left her on read. He didn’t feel like talking. He didn’t feel like anything at all. In the end he flicked through the same apps on his phone, fell asleep and circled them through again once he woke up. He stood up to get his cat some food, then went straight to bed. He didn’t want to eat, so he didn’t.
The next day he managed to eat breakfast, but only because he had switched off his alarm and his cat woke him up with screaming. He threw some water in his face, then returned to bed. Tina had called again. Had messaged too. Gavin put his phone on his nightstand face down.
In the evening he couldn’t lie in bed anymore, never feeling comfortable and always sore. He faced his fridge again and took the next-best bottle. When he fell asleep on the couch hours later it was empty.
The hangover was hard, but Gavin liked the sobering pain. He didn’t like throwing up in the toilet first thing in the morning though. He skipped breakfast and lunch lying in bed. As Tina had called for the millionth time, he finally got the energy to answer the call, shout: ‘Phck off, don’t wanna talk!’ into the mic and drop it back down. Dinner was some instant noodles. With lots of alcohol.
When the weekend came, his reserves had been depleted. He was left to water and stale coke. Maybe that was something good? Gavin didn’t think in these categories anymore. Then the doorbell rang. And it rang again. And again. Gavin would have appreciated it staying this way of it ringing and him not answering, but then the call came from outside: ‘Gavin, you absolute fuck, I know you are home and you know I will kick down this door, now open up before you have to pay for a new door and lock without a job!’ Way to go Tina. Gavin just sighed, but obeyed, opening the door. He had planned to tell her to go, but she somehow already had made it past his sluggish reflexes. ‘Holy fuck it reeks!’ The first thing she did was opening the windows, letting in fresh air. ‘How the fuck did you live like this?’, she asked pointing at the dirty plates on the floor. ‘And fucking hell, you look like death!’ Gavin just shrugged. ‘Feel like death too.’ She took him by the back of his shirt and pushed him towards the bathroom. ‘You will take a shower and if I have to watch you do it!’ Gavin tried to protest, but somehow he was already standing under the stream fully clothed. His hoodie began to weigh him down, but he didn’t care. ‘Gavin, I won’t mother you. You will get out of your clothes on your own. Call me if you need anything, I will cook you something.’ Gavin shook his head violently. ‘Tina!’ She turned around to look him in the eyes sternly. ‘You should go. I need more time.’ ‘You got plenty of time. I won’t let you destroy yourself like this! You got fired. That’s all. No one died. No one is ill. You will find a new job and better days will come.’ ‘Someone died’, Gavin disagreed. ‘I did. I died when I handed in that badge, Tina.’ ‘Oh fuck off you melodramatic asshole. I am speaking to you right now. So you fucking are alive and need to wash yourself. And you need food, so I will cook. And then we will talk.’
She had left, but Gavin still winced as if she had struck him with a knife. Talk. Oh, please, anything but that.
‘Any plans what to do now?’ ‘Any idea what kind of job you would like?’ ‘How about going out to a movie tomorrow?’ ‘Gavin, fucking talk to me!’ Gavin swallowed hard. ‘You should leave, really. Thanks for the food and for kicking my ass, but I’m not ready yet. This job was all I ever wanted and all I ever had.’ ‘Bullshit.’ ‘No! No bullshit! For once I’m completely serious Tina! What do you think I have except for it? Everyone phcking hates me, I can’t do anything else and I don’t have anyone to help me! All I have is this flat and my useless phcking cat! I. Have. Nothing! And I’m sorry if a few nice words from pity-party Tina won’t suddenly make me function again!’ ‘Pity-party?’ ‘That’s what this is, isn’t it?’, Gavin shouted. ‘You secretly enjoy it, don’t you? Oh, look someone that has phcked up! Let’s pretend we actually like the guy and don’t just profit from him! Then we can say: see? See how he got better? That was me!’ ‘Gavin!’ ‘What?’, Gavin spat back. ‘Tell me that’s not what you are trying to do! Tell me you mean it, it will be a real nice joke, I can tell you that!’
Tina stood up and in exactly that moment, Gavin had realised he had made a mistake. Another mistake. He had wanted to be angry, about who and what didn’t matter. But well, it did. ‘You know what, Gavin Reed? I’ve been your friend for a long time. Do you really think I listen to an asshole like you, to talks like this and fake being your friend? What weird twist of logic is that? I wanted to help! I really wanted to. But if this is how you respond to that, I clearly wasted my time! Goodbye.’
And Gavin’s days turned back to lying in bed with his cat and stupid phone games, getting up only when he needed to pee, when Bready needed food or when he couldn’t postpone eating any longer himself. One day he actually went out to get some canned food that was easy to prepare, food for Bready and alcohol. Lots of alcohol.
It was two weeks after he had been fired, that he sat in the corner of the living room, a bottle next to him and the shards of a broken glass in his hand, that he carefully pulled out. He didn’t even feel the pain. Not really. Should he… It was tempting. He had no one, he had no job, no goals… Was it even worth it? He had looked far too long at the blood pooling in his hand and the largest shard in his other. It was just a movement after all. But then Bready’s head suddenly appeared and Gavin cursed. ‘No, bad! Shoo! This is dangerous! Damn cat!’ He let the shard fall to the ground and picked up his cat with his uninjured hand, carrying her over to the kitchen and keeping her busy with some treats. Once he was sure she was occupied, he returned to his corner outfitted with a dustpan to pick up the shards so Bready couldn’t step in them.
Only when he saw the bloody shards, he flinched back. He had seen these pictures far too often. Had filed them away as evidence. Had asked himself how people could do something like this, often leaving family and friends behind. And now… Phck no! Phck no, not him! He wouldn’t… He had always been a fighter, hadn’t he? Then why had he given up just moments ago? No, he wouldn’t… He would. He would finally get his ass up and act! What had Tina done last weekend? What had she done…
Open the windows. He retraced her steps after he had gotten rid of the shards and bandaged his hand. He opened the windows, looked to the ground and fetched the dirty plates. He put them in the dishwasher. He cuddled his phcking lifesaver of a cat extra-long and took a shower – this time without his clothes. Then he took his phone from the shelf he had put it on to ignore it and sat down on the couch. He dialled the number on autopilot and waited until he got an answer. It didn’t take long.
‘Tina! Tina, don’t say anything! I don’t know if I can build up this courage again if you say something. Just listen, please. I was an idiot. I was a total asshole to you, and I understand you completely if you don’t want to talk to me or ever see me again. But I really need your help and I want to make up to the terrible things I said to you. I may not have much left, but I have my fantastic cat, I am still alive, and I hope I still have you. I need someone to kick my ass and I know you are best in that. I need you right now. I want to look for a new job, I want to start again, and I don’t want to lose you as my friend.’ He pressed his eyes closed and waited for an answer. ‘Tina?’ ‘What? You told me to shut up and listen! I’m already on my way over to your place with job offers from a few newspapers, you giant asshole. Should I get takeout? Are you hungry?’ ‘You are not mad?’ ‘Oh, believe me, I am mad. But I am also proud of you, Gavin. And if you think you can get rid of me, you don’t know me!’ Gavin audibly exhaled. ‘Oh, Tina, I don’t know what I would do without you.’ ‘Yeah, sometimes I wonder, too. I’ll hang up now, okay? Gotta go place our order. Just wait for me, okay? We’ll fix this shithole of a situation you are in in no time, believe me!’
Gavin smiled, the first time in two weeks. The call had already ended, but he still whispered: ‘Yes. I believe you.’

Radioactive Ch. 4: The Wolf
Summary: Logan continues trying to make his escape, which he finds is more difficult than it probably should be.
A/N: Title comes from “the Wolf” by SIAMES.
Chapters: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Logan wasn’t quite sure how he got into this situation, but he was determined to find his way out to safety. The logical Side was literally inside the electrical circuitry and connected system of the Server. He knew he didn’t have a physical body, and it was an odd floaty experience. No sense of touch grounding him, but unlike last time when he’d been trapped in a glorified solid state drive for almost a full day, it was energizing. He was pulling energy straight from the power grid. He could move, and he’d gotten into the camera system to be able to hear and see vicariously what was going on.
Troubling, though, he couldn’t find his body where he’d first gone into the stereo system wires in the main room. He didn’t know what happened to it, but he hoped it was reclaimable.
“Where is that muffinhead?” Bad demanded angrily, he was armed with several guns and a furious rage.
“Get in line, Karl felt it too,” Quackity snapped back, “and Skeppy has more aura to spare than Karl does.”
Logan left the hallway and moved into a separate room. He needed to find some type of exit. He needed his equipment and his body, and then he needed to leave. But none of the cameras were positioned near a door. If he could—
The logical Side felt himself being pulled from the system and placed somewhere else. At first Logan felt instinctive fear, remembering the last time he’d been trapped somewhere.
“Calm down,” Tubbo said close to his phone’s microphone. “I happen ta[1] like this phone an’[2] if you break it, I can’t bother Ranboo with it.”
Logan brought up a notepad app and typed: “Where am I?”
“In my phone, big guy,” Tubbo typed, he was smiling and Logan got access to the young man’s camera. “Didn’t want to watch you keep struggling in the camera system. You’re lucky Sam hasn’t found you yet.”
“You have found me, that is not much better,” Logan reminded.
“Yeah, but lucky for you, I have to go home,” Tubbo typed and then pocketed his phone. It cut off Logan’s camera view, but the logical Side could still hear what was going on around Tubbo.
Maybe this was how he could make a quick escape and find the other Sides and they could come back for his body and things. He did not want to leave those, but his survival was more important.
“Hey Tubbo,” Dream’s voice was too close for Logan’s liking. “You find him, yet?”
“Nope, boss man,” Tubbo popped the “p” on his first word, the phone jostling a bit as Tubbo moved. “You need me ta[1] make another round?”
Dream didn’t answer at first.
“Nah,” Dream decided. “Don’t think it’ll do much good. You think about my offer?”
“I did,” Tubbo answered, “it’s a shit offer.”
“Still,” Dream somehow got closer. “The offer stands.”
There was another pause and Logan decided he didn’t like the silence when he couldn’t see.
“Throw in Tommy an’[2] it’s a deal,” Tubbo decided.
Dream let out a cackle, “Didn’t know you still cared about the fucker, but sure, he’s all yours. Take him, so long as I don’t see him, we won’t have any problems.”
“Then we have a deal,” Tubbo agreed. “What you want, fer[3] what I want.”
“Right,” Dream said with a smile almost audible in his tone. There was a shifting and for once Logan could actually feel aura. It made him feel weird but drawn to it like a moth to a flame. “There we go.”
They started moving again.
“You know what Tubbo, you never cease to surprise me,” Dream told Tubbo. “I think it might be because the first time we met, you were desperately trying to be one of Phil’s little fledglings. It was cute in a sad way.”
“Good times,” Tubbo had a soft tone to his voice. “You had ta[1] ruin it by existin’[4].”
“Well, maybe,” Dream half-agreed, “but some cheap blond hair dye was never going to trick Phil into thinking you were one of his.”
“Hey, Dream, can we talk?” Someone Logan didn’t recognize spoke up.
“Give me a minute, Karl,” Dream said. “Just making sure Tubbo here gets home safely.”
“George and I can do that,” Karl promised. “We got this.”
“Oh sure, sure,” Dream agreed. “Tubbo, give me the phone.”
“No,” Tubbo immediately refused as Logan felt an acute sense of dread.
“The phone isn’t part of the deal, give him to me,” Dream ordered.
“Is that yer[5] favor, then?” Tubbo demanded.
“Tubbo,” Dream warned darkly, as Tubbo’s hand went into his pocket. Aura charging around them, ready to strike.
“Dream,” George spoke up, he’d set his hand on Dream’s shoulder. “I’m taking Tubbo home, do you have a problem with that?”
The aura in the room almost plummeted, giving Logan whiplash from where he was hiding.
“Fine, whatever,” Dream growled and Tubbo began moving again.
“Thanks,” Tubbo said.
“Out, before he changes his mind,” Karl began pushing Tubbo towards the back door of the Server and they slipped out. Logan felt the difference but he couldn’t push out of the phone and was completely confused on how to actually perform the action.
“Come on,” Karl urged.
“Shotgun!” Tubbo called out.
“Shotgun!” George called a half-second sooner.
“Come on, man,” George groaned.
“I’m not ridin’[6] bitch, get in the back,” Tubbo chuckled.
“Fucker,” George chuckled.
The three of them got into a car and Logan began to try and escape in earnest, not wanting to be taken to some other location where he also didn’t know where he was.
“Hey, hey, calm down,” Tubbo told Logan out loud. “Yer[7] gonna[8] melt my phone.”
“Wow he’s really in there, huh?” Karl commented, as Logan could see through the front and back cameras, but had to switch between the two because his brain could only focus on one at a time.
“Yeah, he can’t get out,” Tubbo seemed to be in the front passenger seat.
Logan accessed Tubbo’s map app.
“There you go, buddy,” Tubbo laughed a bit as Logan started tracking where they were going.
Then Logan texted Jackie, “Driving along NE Ralph St.”
As an afterthought, Logan added, “This is Logan, I have access to Tubbo Underscore’s phone.”
Tubbo took over and called Jackie’s number. It took a little bit for Jackie to answer.
“H-Hello?” Jackie asked hesitantly.
“Yeah,” Tubbo started, “tell yer legate friend I got his glitch arm in my phone, an’ I kinda want him out before he bricks my phone. You want ta bring yer best tech guy an’ meet us somewhere?”[9]
“How the fook[10] did yeh[11] get my number?” Jackie demanded.
“He’s in my phone,” Tubbo repeated. “Get him out before I have ta[1] get a new one.”
While he was talking, Tubbo began texting Ranboo.
“Boo!!!!”
A response came a couple seconds later. “No.”
“Boo!!! Plz[12] don’t ignore meeeeee!” Tubbo smiled.
“Come ta[1] our base an’[2] we’ll talk,” Jackie told them.
“Gotcha[13], be there soon,” Tubbo promised as Ranboo didn’t answer. He did hang up on Jackie first, and texted Ranboo, “If you don’t stop ignoring me I’m going to start withholding.”
Logan tried to always know where they were often getting in Tubbo’s way as he tried to text.
“No.” Ranboo told him.
“Stop ignoring me and come and pick me up from the heroes’ base.” Tubbo asked, then added, as an afterthought, “plz.”[12]
“Fine,” Ranboo relented.
“Forty minutes to the heroes’s base, Tubbo has requested his husband to be there. There are three people in the car besides myself,” Logan reported. “Also, I may have lost my body and my equipment.”
“Geez,” Tubbo commented. “Calm down, yer[7] gonna freak ‘em[14] out.”
George’s phone buzzed before nanites took over the steering wheel, almost causing an accident as they were pulled off to the side of the road by force. The stop was a little jarring and the front of the car was yanked off and Google was there and looking between the three people in the car.
Karl and Tubbo screamed, George flinched in pure fear.
“Where is he?” Google demanded. “Give him to me!”
The more aggressive android was shoved out of the way by Bing. “I told yeh ta wait one freakin’ second. They were comin’ ta us, dude. E’erythin’ was fine.”[15]
Tubbo leaned over and held out the phone, which Bing gently took.
“See?” Bing smiled. “No need ta[1] freak out. So chill out.”
“Is he glitching?” Google demanded. “He lost his physical form.”
“Googs, chill yer ****s[16] fer about five seconds,” Bing told him. “Lo, can yeh[11] talk ta[1] me in there?”
“No, don’t know how to use the speakers,” Logan wrote in the first document he could bring up.
Bing chuckled, “Yeah, give me a sec[17], never tried ta[1] extract a glitch from somethin’[18]. I got Mini outta[19] my stereo system so it can’t be that much different.”
“I’m not a glitch,” Logan defended stubbornly.
“Lo, you lost yer body, an’ yer stuck in some stranger’s cellphone,”[20] Bing reminded. Then he looked the phone over, “an’[2] I might have ta[1] destroy it ta[1] get you out.”
“Fuck,” Tubbo complained.
“I’ll try an’[2] put it back together,” Bing promised.
“I don’t want to be a glitch,” Logan said and Bing didn’t offer a verbal comment. Logan finally added, “I wish to leave this phone, please.”
“I got you,” Bing promised. “I’m gonna[8] have ta[1] turn the phone off, so don’t freak out. It won’t be too long.”
Jackieboy Man finally reached the group, and Google almost fired on the speedster for getting too close to Bing and Logan too quickly. “Woah!”
“Back up!” Google ordered him.
“Okay, Lo, gonna[8] turn it off in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1,” Bing warned and then he turned on the phone and dismantled it. “Okay Lo, I know you can still hear me. So just relax and— There you are!”
Bing extracted a glowing dark blue orb that swelled out to show a small galaxy inside of it. “Lo? You alright?”
Logan didn’t talk, he was more aware of what was around him rather than seeing it himself.
“Yeah, we need ta[1] get you inta[21] a speaker or somethin’[18],” Bing decided, and Logan’s orb floated haltingly over to Google who shielded the orb with his nanites.
“Yes?” Google asked carefully.
Logan used the little bit of aura he had the ability to use and pulled and pushed the nanites between him and Google.
It took Google a second or two to realize what Logan was asking.
“Oh, of course,” Google smiled and pulled out a cube of nanites, “They’re yours, I made sure to keep them operational for you.”
Logan hesitated, knowing how those nanites had been used before, but he took them. To the logical Side it was like stepping into a familiar pair of shoes, or a well loved coat. These nanites were his. They knew his form and obeyed his command. The imitation of flesh and sinew and bone swirled into being, more of a shell than an actual body. But they were something.
It formed, rather unfortunately the last setting they had been set to, which was Logan’s future Suit of Spades outfit, the nanites turning a glossy black with a brass spade in the front.
“Ugh,” Logan groaned, the voice modulator still active and Logan was quick to try and deactivate that. “I hate this suit.”
“Yeah, not expecting ta[1] see it either,” Jackie agreed as Google had a camera track around Logan as Logan tried to get the nanites to reset to his normal suit but it required a password and Logan didn’t know it.
PATTON
Logan typed it and to his amazement, it worked and he cursed his older self’s single minded nature. He spent a couple minutes reconfiguring the settings for it to turn back into his normal nanite suit and Logan felt relief.
“I wish to go home,” Logan decided.
“Yeah, we can do that,” Jackie smiled, happy to have Logan back.

Kinktober Day 6: Erotic Dancing, Convin
yay for more Connor/Gavin!!
-------------------------------
They were to investigate an android sex ring. What had been confusing at first was why the androids seemed to go willingly with the humans even knowing the risks and what was happening.
It had been Hank that pointed it out. Androids didn't have money and most didn't have a human willing to take care of them. Jobs were limited already and most companies didn't want to hire androids after what had happened, so plenty of androids were desperate enough.
Now Connor had to play that part. The first choice to go with him was Hank. He trusted the man more than anyone else, but Connor knew it would set him on edge knowing what Connor would need to do. Not to mention that Hank would need to seem interested in Connor and neither liked that idea.
Connor had no problem doing what needed to be done. He was made with all parts available including genitals, so he could do this to the full extent if need be. Hank had thrown a fit at that, but Connor calmed him by saying he most likely wouldn't even need to consider it.
All Connor needed to do was pretend to be an android needing money and willing to do anything and then he'd be taken to the back to be prepared. He'd dance until someone-whoever he was working with-became interested. All they needed was that person talking about buying Connor.
He knew a few android memories had been wiped after being bought, but Connor had a feeling that was left up to the buyer.
Then it was just the matter of who would be going in with Connor. They'd have backup waiting outside but inside it would be Connor and his buyer.
Fowler had been the one to pick Gavin Reed of all people. Connor could admit the man was good at his job, and he trusted him to not give themselves away, but that didn't mean Connor was happy about it. The man was abrasive at best and downright racist at worst.
Connor had noted every slur Reed had thrown at him, but from that, he also noted that the amount had slowly decreased over the year Connor had continued to work at the DPD. That didn't mean Connor didn't despise the man.
Despise was a stronger word than in reality, but Connor had made sure his other emotions regarding Reed were pushed down. Way down.
Getting into the cub had actually been easy, and they didn't really question him, just stuck him in an outfit, and told him the rules. He was to go as far as the human wanted, and 75% of the money went to the ring.
Connor assured them he could dance, he could do anything they needed, and the manager gave a nod before telling him to start on a raised platform with a pole. He didn't need to do anything too crazy, just dance and try to get someone's attention.
Connor was out in an angels costume which he found highly amusing considering what he was supposed to do. If a customer wanted, they could fully buy Connor off the ring but for the most part, it was only one-nights or up to a month. He wondered what Reed would go for.
He stood on the platform and scanned the room as he moved to the music. The bass was heavy enough that he could feel it rattling his chest and the pole that spun slowly.
He found Reed in the crowd and sent him a wink before he pulled himself up onto the pole, spreading his legs into a perfect split before slowly sliding down. Then he wrapped his legs around it, popping his ass out then standing back up.
'Stop showing off, we don't want anyone else to actually buy you.' Gavin's message was sent straight to him, and Connor did a small twirl before dropping and making eye contact.
'Aw, you want me all for yourself?' he teased and chuckled when he saw Gavin's face flush in the dark room.
'No! Don't want a fucking plastic.'
Connor chuckled and pulled himself back up, letting himself stumble for a second. 'Better?'
'No. You're still doing too well.' Reed scowled at him before remembering he was supposed to look interested.
Connor raised an eyebrow at that. If he was doing well that meant Gavin-no, Reed-was at least somewhat affected by Connor. He'd keep that information to himself for now.
He gave a small shake that looked far too uncoordinated and he could just faintly hear, over the music and talking, a laugh. 'Rude.' He sent.
'You look like a toddler trying to dance.' He turned his head back and glared at Gavin who subtly flipped him off.
Connor's eyes went wide as two men started to be making their way to Gavin. 'Two men, 7 o'clock, big.'
Gavin looked at the message before pocketing his phone and pushing closer to Connor's. One of the men grabbed Gavin's shoulder and Connor grit his teeth but continued attempting to dance badly.
They didn't need to see that he knew Reed or felt the need to protect him. He may be a dick but Connor knew he'd have his back if it came to it, and Connor would do the same in return.
Connor danced for what felt like hours until he saw the two men leave back towards the bar, then slipping into a door.
'Fuckers are part of this thing and was asking what kind I liked. They aren't even trying to hide this shit.'
Connor sighed in relief that they hadn't been caught and Reed hadn't been harmed. He dropped into a split and bounced slightly, looking over his shoulder.
Reed had finally made it to his platform and reached out and pushed a five into his very tiny and tight shorts. Connor blew him a kiss before scrambling to get up not-so gracefully.
"You for sale?" Reed called up, leaning into the platform. Connor rolled his body against the pole and felt somewhat flustered that everyone could see most of him. The shorts didn't really hide anything, and it wasn't like he was small either. At least Gavin looked just as flustered at that sight as Connor was.
"No." He snapped before grimacing. He had to play the part of an android not wanting to be treated as property again but desperate enough to do it anyway. "Ah, actually I may be. Would you like a dance?"
He went down into a middle split and leaned forward, resting his head in his hands.
Reed shifted and looked around before back to Connor. "Maybe, how much do you cost?"
Connor pretended to think, flexing his legs just slightly. "Twenty for an at a table dance, but there are private rooms too."
Reed nodded and pulled out a twenty, handing it over. No doubt he'd be reimbursed for all the money he was going to be spending on Connor.
Connor hopped off the stage and it only took a second before an android woman took his place. So this ring had more than enough androids for these jobs, fuck.
Connor circled Reed, letting his hand brush against him. He wore his normal day clothes considering it wasn't too odd from the normal in this club. When he got back around he took the collar of Reed's shirt and gently pulled him to a seat before pushing him down on it.
Casually, almost lethargically, he swayed, in front of Reed, running his hands up and down his own body. His hips moved suggestively, as he looked into Reed's eyes. In slow motion he approached, licking his lips. He could see Reed gulp and his hands tightened on the seat's armrest, knuckles turning white.
He could feel the heat of Reed's body, as he placed his legs on either side of him, straddling Reed. He looked into his eyes, while his hands caressed Reed's neck, and shoulders. Smilingly, he teasingly rocked his hips.
Turning his back, positioned squarely above his lap he squat quickly up and down, bouncing on his lap without ever making full contact with his groin. Would Reed get turned on by this? He could hear his breath quickening and the hands seemed to be deciding whether or not to keep his hands there.
Connor stood up, turned to face him, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, as he resumed the teasing. His bottom rocked back and forth first against Reed's thighs then graduating upwards. He rhythmically ground his hips against Reed. And he could actually feel him. He was most definitely affected by this and Connor reached up to run his hands through Gavin's hair before leaning forward, lips brushing against his cheek then ear.
"Am I still doing too well?" He whispered, fully grinding down onto Reed's lap now.
"Fuck. Off." Gavin ground out. Connor shrugged and hopped off, he turned to walk away but strong, warm hands grabbed him by his hips and pulled him back down.
Connor gave a small yelp and made sure not to fall too heavily onto Reed's lap. "Ah! Thought you told me to fuck off." He glanced back at him, their faces closer than before. It was a really good thing Hank wasn't in here.
"Haven't gotten my twenty dollars worth, and I might want to play with you a bit more. Said there were private rooms?" Gavin pulled Connor closer as he ground his dick up into Connor's ass.
He let out a surprised whine and tilted his head back.
'Shit, Con you ok?' Hank's message had him flushing a deeper blue. He had forgotten that the backup would be able to hear everything.
'I'm fine, simply playing my role.' That whine hadn't been intentional in the least but it wasn't like he could take it back now.
He jolted back to the present when Gavin's hands slid from his wait to up his chest. "You didn't answer me."
Connor nodded and circled his hips, trying to get back in control. "I was thinking about a friend of mine. You aren't nearly as distracting as you think you are. But yes, there are private rooms where we can do whatever you want."
Gavin thankfully understood the message and nodded his head, pulling Connor close so he could whisper in his ear. "Sorry Anderson, you'll have your android later."
Connor growled and glared at Gavin. He was still being a dick and Connor had made it explicitly clear he saw Hank more as a father figure than anything else. He reached down and pinched the inside of Gavin's thigh and felt beyond satisfied when he yelped and tightened his hold on Connor.
"Bitch."
"You deserved that. Now be good and buy us a room." He moved off of Gavin and cocked his hip, putting a hand on it.
Gavin took a few deep breaths before standing and having to adjust his pants. Connor watched with a smirk but didn't say anything as Reed went to pay.
Connor stood there, letting himself calm down. He was tempted to turn his own arousal reactions, but he wanted to see what would happen.
He jumped when he felt two hands grope him, and his skin started to crawl. He could smell alcohol on the man's breath as he pushed against Connor's back.
"You pretty, little thing. Could break you so easily and you'd beg for it, wouldn't ya?" The man asked and Connor tried to loosen up. He knew this would happen. He knew there was a chance more than just Gavin would show interest. He really had shown off far too much.
"Ah! Well, I wouldn't mind all too much but I'm afraid I'm already paid for, but after? I'd love to see what you can do." He spun around and placed his hands on the man's chest. And he was fucking huge. Not in the fat way, but he was just huge and heavily muscled. He probably could break Connor in half and it made him shiver in fear. If he paid enough this man could do anything he wanted to Connor.
The man hummed and looked him over. "You do look so good. A beautiful angel."
Connor chuckled and ducked his head, fluttering his eyelashes. "Ah, are you a devil then? Are you going to tempt me to the other side?" Fuck he really hated how this man groped him but he didn't pull away. He needed to show that he was willing to do this with anyone.
"I can make you such a naughty boy." The man sneered and Connor had to do everything to not shrink back.
But then he saw Gavin stalking over with death in his eyes. "Excuse me, but he's mine for the next hour." Gavin growled out.
Connor flashed up a grateful smiling before slowly moving back, using a bit of extra force than needed. "Maybe I'll see you later… daddy." God, he was going to be sick. If he ever called another man that he did not know that, he'd self-destruct.
Gavin grabbed him by his arm and yanked him close, easily moving them to the private rooms.
There weren't any actual doors but instead floor to ceiling curtains. So they couldn't just sit there and wait, not that he had planned on that in the first place.
He could hear two people going at it and the other room they were certainly close to it too. So they'd need to do the same thing. At least it didn't seem there would be cameras in the rooms, but a few security guards were waiting just in case.
Connor pushed him off and into the room, following after, sending a wink to a guard before closing the curtains.
Connor turned back to Gavin and looked around the room. There were constable chairs but also a large couch. In the center of the room was a pole Connor could use if wanted. The lights were dimmed just enough and warm red lights hung on the walls.
Gavin stood there, looking around as well, but Connor could tell he was nervous. They'd either actually have to do this or make it damn convincing.
"So, what would you like?" Connor asked, not trying to be loud enough to hear but not soft enough to be suspicious. "I can do anything you want, I'll be good for you." He tried to sound desperate for money more than anything else.
Gavin's eyebrows shot up but he looked around again before deciding to sit on the couch, letting his legs spread a bit. "Maybe dance a bit more, continue where we left off.."
When Connor finally reaches him, his fingers threading through Gavin's hair send a wave of nervous vibrations down his spine. His other hand rests against Gavin's shoulder, bracing himself as he raises a knee and presses it between Gavin's spread thighs. The music lulls and fades away, and for a moment that feels like an eternity, they’re sitting still—the only sound booming in Connor's ears, their labored breathing, and Gavin's heartbeat thundering inside of his chest.
Gavin's hand twitched, almost reaching out before he remembered himself.
"You can touch." Connor whispered, grabbing one of Gavin's hands and placed it on his own ass. Gavin gave it a slight squeeze then a stronger one, fingers digging into the white latex with golden sparkles. Connor hummed and gently tugged on Gavin's hair, pulling his head to the side to get easy access to his neck. "Tell me to stop and I will." Connor mumbled before brushing his lips against Gavin's throat.
Gavin gasped and pulled Connor into his lap, down using both hands to hold Connor's ass. "Don't you dare fucking stop."
'i hate this' Connor rolled his eyes at Hank's message but only felt somewhat guilty.
'Sorry, plug your ears?' There was more than just Hank listening but honestly, he was the only one he truly cared about to not listen.
He tipped his head back to press hot kisses to Gavin's throat, painting a wet trail to his mouth. Gavin's fingers smooth up and down Connor's spine, then dip down to cup his ass and squeeze again.
Connor was grinding his crotch to his, and Gavin bit his lip until it bled because it was all he could do to avoid coming in his pants. Connor smirked and pulled his lips away to look at the man fully. "Hm, want me to keep this up? I can do a whole lot more."
Gavin moved his hands up off his ass and Connor huffed but made a pleased whine when the hands dipped under the shorts to grab at him again, fingers exploring. "God, this is not fair." Gavin mumbled but then leaned forward to bite and lick at Connor's neck. His back arched into it, hips grinding down again.
Gavin kept him close to him, bucking his hips up in time with Connor's. "Con," he groaned, head falling back.
Connor was thrilled at the reactions he was getting, wanting so much more. His hand gripped Gavin's neck by his nape, fingers over the soft hairs at the base of his skull as he directed their lips to each other. The other hand gripped his waist firmly so he would stop moving, and grinding up into him. He could easily imagine that dick fucking into him as he sat on him.
Or he could take him back out into the club and push him against the wall. Let everyone see as Connor would shove his hand down Gavin's pants and bring him to completion where everyone could see the effect he had on him. That he was affecting Gavin this much.
"Fuck me." Connor demanded standing up to unzip Gavin's pants. "I don't need prep."
Gavin's eyes were wide but he quickly shimmied out of his pants and underwear along with his shirt, tossing them to the side. Connor slid his shorts off, straddling over Gavin, making sure they were in the right before sinking down with a sigh of relief.
He started to move his hips, unhurriedly, trying to make this last longer. Gavin moaned and grabbed his waist but Connor didn't stop. "Fuck yes! God, you fill me up so well."
Gavin moaned again and tried to buck his hips up, but Connor glared at him. "Let me!"
"No, I'm in charge right now. I'm going to fuck myself on you and you're gonna sit there and be a good boy." He snapped and sank down again, his back arching beautifully.
Gavin cursed under his breath but didn't fight it, his hands sliding back around to grab Connor's ass. "You're too damn pretty, fucking hell. The way you move should be illegal."
Connor smirked and held himself up for a second longer just to tease before dropping back down with a whine. The friction felt so good and he took himself in hand, stroking lazily. "Hm, is that what you want? Want to cuff me for being naughty then fuck me over the table? I might just let you."
Gavin's pupils were blown wide and he gaped for a second, and Connor let him knowing everything he was imagining. "Yes, god even then you'd still be a little shit."
Connor huffed and leaned forward to bite a bit more harshly at Gavin's neck. The man whimpered and squeezed his eyes shut trying not to come. Connor licked over where the bruise would definitely form before tossing his head back, finally finding the right spot.
"Yes! Ah, there, right there." He mumbled. It didn’t take long for his hips to snap down quickly, slapping sound filling the room, ragged breaths, and one hand on Gavin's chest for support. His legs shook gently, not from exhaustion but from want.
Every time he thrust down Gavin would push up, aching to feel as much of him as he could. Connor leaned forward and kissed Gavin deeply, and Gavin kissed him back greedily. Their hot breath mingled together as they came in for another wet kiss, soft moans escaping both their mouths as their lips joined.
Before long, Connor broke away. “I’m gonna-- ahh shit! I’m gonna come, Gavin. Please don't stop.”
“Look at me, I wanna see you when you come.” Gavin gave a firm squeeze to Connor's ass, fucking up into him, trying to get deeper with each thrust.
With a few more thrusts, Connor let out a loud unrestrained moan. His eyes were shut tight, and his mouth open and agape as he came over both their chests. Yet he kept bouncing, squeezing around Gavin. "Gavin! Fuck, come on. Come in me, I want you to fill me up. I want to be dripping." Connor growled and Gavin would only nod, yanking Connor completely down.
His whole body shuttered with the force of it but Connor took it all with a soft whine. God if only he had a plug to keep it there the rest of the night. Then he'd go home and get to play with himself again, maybe even show Gavin what he looked like open and wanting on his bed.
Connor sat there for a minute letting both of them calm somewhat. He could feel Gavin's heart pounding, arms just loosely holding onto Connor and pressing quick soft kisses over Connor's warm skin.
"Our time is almost up." Connor murmured, eyes lidded as he looked down at him. This was probably all he'd get from Gavin even if he had fantasized about how to tear him about slowly. Yet he always felt ashamed and even guilty especially when he went in the next day and Gavin was there. It wasn't even their fights and arguments that sparked a flame in him, I mean sure those were nice too and made their own fantasies, but this was different.
"Shit." Gavin grumbled, letting his head rest against Connor's shoulder and closing his eyes. "Oh fuck everyone heard that."
Connor hummed and checked over his connection which was still very much active yet no one had said a thing. "I don't think they minded, plus I told Hank to not listen."
Speaking of, he'd need to inform the man that it was safe to put the headphones back on. Yet he wanted to have this conversation in a somewhat private sense so he'd wait just a bit longer.
"Fuck, uh thanks. God, that really happened. And you're really pushy and needy." Gavin chuckled and looked up. Connor huffed and crossed his arms but the fact that he hadn't gotten up really wasn't helping. "In a good way! Obviously, I liked it, but yeah. Maybe I can see more of you, see what sides of you I can bring out, later?"
Connor knew an invitation when he heard one, and this was definitely it. Gavin wanted to see him again, like this. Not exactly like this, most likely more private, but he wanted more. Even if he hadn't been emotionally connected and interested, he'd be loathed to pass this up. Gavin was by far one of the best fucks he's had in a while.
He wiggled his hips just slightly and Gavin hissed but Connor smirked. "I'd like that, but I will warn you, I'm insatiable. I don't have to wait very long to get going again, think you can keep up?"
He knew humans would have close to impossible chances of truly keeping up, but as long as Gavin could pleasure him even when he needed a moment then that was fine.
Gavin hissed again and tried to glare at Connor's smirking face. "Fuck you, I'll have you a complete mess and begging me to stop because it's too much."
Connor raised an eyebrow and stood slightly only to drop back down. Gavin cursed and grabbed his hips, trying to keep him still. "I think the one begging will be you-" he leaned in close to whisper into his ear-"Detective."
He stood completely up and off, looking around and finding a few towels and washcloths under the seat. Thank God the club came (heh) prepared. He grabbed a washcloth and started to clean himself up, wiggling his hips as he felt the come in him. He let his hand trail back and pushed a finger in before pulling it out and glancing over at Gavin. The man was staring at him wide-eyed as Connor popped the finger into his mouth.
He pulled it out and licked his lips before crouching in front of Gavin and licking up his own mess and Gavin's dick. Once he was done he patted Gavin dry and smirked once more at him. He was gripping the seat so hard his knuckles were white. "Maybe you'll get to see what my mouth can do later, but for now I want you to buy me." Connor slid on his tiny shorts and made sure everything was in place before strutting out of the room, not even bothering to close the curtains behind him.
Gavin was left gaping before he quickly pulled his clothes back on, trying not to meet the club's guard's eyes and he quickly walked out of the room.
Thankfully the two managed to bring the whole thing down, and Connor did later show Gavin exactly how good he was with his mouth.

—; but “sentimental boy” is my nom de plume
word count: 1916
pairing: connor/gn!reader
genre: slight fluff; hurt no comfort
summary: it has been a year after the android revolution. humans and android alike settled down, an olive branch was offered as a sign of reconciliation. with newfound peace came along newfound love, and many open roads to choose from. this was no different for the rk800—connor. surprisingly or unsurprisingly, he decided to continue working at the dpd, this time as a bonafide detective. but he has also accepted the thrilling uncertainty of life that deviancy has brought; the same strings that brought his lover in his life.the same ones he hated and cursed, the same fates who ripped it all away.
a/n: everytime i convince myself i came out of my dbh hyperfixation i just look at connor and i become lovesick again.
gosh i know i should be finishing my other fic or work on the prologue script for my vn, but,,,,,,, i just had a sudden hankering for connor angst,,,,
written during a sleep deprivation induced moment of epiphany,,,,, (purple prose cuz im extra af uwu)
I’ve never written angst before so i’d love to hear your thoughts on it
Tumblr media
maybe if you asked him one year ago whether he’d consider returning someone’s feelings, romantic feelings, he’d reply to you with a placid smile and a polite « i’m sorry, i wasn’t programmed to reciprocate romantic interest. ». he remembered that he’d sneer at them internally. now thinking about it, long before he questioned his obedience towards her, he already showed signs of deviancy.
you did what you were designed to do.
memories from his past would still torment him erratically, doubts would resurface on particularly dark days. but you were the light that cut through that haze. this wasn’t a “fake deviancy”. it couldn’t have been. not when he is holding your body so close to his, warmth radiating off of each other, two heartbeats—similar, but different—thrumming together. all the softly whispered and adoringly announced « i love you »’s; all the quick and coveted pecks and all the feverish and passionate kisses. no, he was alive, he was sure of it—alive and absolutely enamoured by you. all semblance of doubt ebbed away when you entered his life.
whenever he’s around you, he feels more alive: you make him feel everything, all the little precious things. tenderness and adoration when he shares tranquil mornings with you. he feels more alive when he’s with you, all the little habits and routines too endearing: the sweet post-it notes scattered over your shared flat; scribbled upon it are encouraging words or sweet nothings. conflicting work schedules meant that moments spent together were scarce, but that made them even more valuable and coveted. captivation, was another emotion that he felt around you. your mannerism, your dreams and interests, your physical attributes and quality of voice. logically speaking, you were just another human, insignificant in the grand scheme of things. you’d live and then one day, you’d die. as if you never really existed. but he wasn’t being logical. how could he be? when you were right there in front of him? you made him irrational, and he found that new aspect in life thrilling. confusing at first, but exciting. he was eternally grateful that you let him experience all these beautiful emotions with you. he was grateful that you allowed him in your short journey that you called life.
he was happy, absolutely content, with his shared life with you. you were both in perfect places in your respective lives: you both had a stable job, loving family backing you up, and a fulfilling love life. what seemed to be a mismatched couple at first turned to be 2 pieces of the same puzzle finally finding their place. life for the both of you couldn’t be better.
but along with the many exquisite moment that your romantic endeavours brought you, the android didn’t only taste the sweet delicacies of life; no matter how idyllic a moment may be, there were times when he had to taste the astringent and sour desserts life offered.
anger. that was an emotion that he felt. but that’s not accurate, no… it was frustration and shock and betrayal, all the unsavoury feelings in the world. perhaps it was due to his inexperience, maybe his lack of exposure to these negative sentiments, that caused him to snap the way he did. to hurt you the way he did. but it happened and there was no turning back the clock.
no matter how much he begged and cried for it.
he was proud that you got the job offer in canada, he really was. and he, like any other caring boyfriend would, offered to accompany you there, an offer which you gladly accepted. that was the plan. but plans were difficult to follow. crime waits for no man, working for the law meant that connor must always be available for duty. no excuses, he was an android. but connor wasn’t just a simple android detective, no, he had a much more important role: he was the link, the messenger, between jericho and the police force. he was the crucial communication between the two forces. so when jericho contacted him about threats of anti-android attacks, he had to make an appearance at their base. the meeting coincided with the day you were meant to travel to canada. it was a simple trip really. it only took a few hours by train, stay in canada for 2 days (it was the weekend), and then return back to detroit, probably arriving in the late afternoons to their home.
but you were looking forwards to traveling with your wonderful partner after « [we] spent so much time apart ». the day he told you the urgent change of plans, connor was tired, overwhelmed. you were frustrated and expectant. a fight was bound to have erupted. accusatory statements, along the lines of: « you don’t actually care about me! it’s all about work and work and work! » and « i can’t believe how selfish you’re being right now! » in between shouting and yelling and frustration and anger and contempt–
you both went to bed exhausted but spiteful, still not forgiving each other. in hindsight, he felt so utterly pathetic, so unbelievably childish, for being that cruel, and uncaring. he didn’t want to be like him again. so many glares and insults were thrown at each other, tears threatened to spill, LED flashed and shone a true red, doors were slammed. he felt awful, plain and simple. you both lied in the same bed, under the same cover. so close yet so excruciatingly far apart. back facing the other’s, no one said a word.
you woke up before him. bitter and unhappy. no morning kisses, no whispered « i love you » to wake your other half. you wordlessly got yourself ready, grabbed your bag and quietly snuck out. no post it notes were left. no sweet promises or encouraging words. you could do this work trip without him. you were independent. you didn’t need a tin can to chaperone you everywhere. so you left. plain and simple. gone. since you woke up and left earlier than planned, you boarded an earlier train. how lovely and convenient. the carriages were mostly filled with androids. perhaps they were trying to immigrate to canada like the others. who knows. you paid no mind and absentmindedly scrolled through your phone, obsessively checking your messages to see if connor realised. to see if he apologised. because frankly, at that point you were tired of being mad and just wanted to spend the day in his arms. but prideful and petty as you were, you weren’t willing to apologise and admit your mistakes first.
connor roused from stasis a few moments afterward, less bitter and more regretful. he wished to right his wrongs but the normally warm presence beside him was not there. his system was slowly booting back up when his audio sensor picked up an incessant ringing from the living room. he jolted up and rushed out to pick up the ringing phone call and waited for the other side to speak up.
the room was so utterly quiet, a silence so suffocating engulfed the room, that you could hear a pin drop. the voice on the other side asked whether this was indeed your house and that he was indeed connor anderson. he swallowed dryly and answered with a soft, « yes ». running a quick check in his database, he matches the caller’s voice with a certain nathaniel edwards. first responder. he allowed his HUD to display the news. if androids could get pale, have all their blood drain from their faces, his would have certainly done so. he stood, rigid and motionless, consumed by shock and horror.
the news and the first responder’s words blended into one as he gripped the phone tighter: « this morning, at 7:48 am the train from detroit to toronto was caught in a devastating turn of events: the train soon caught in fire and exploded as it made its way over the border. it has been confirmed that there has been 0 survivors. it is unclear whether this was an unfortunate accident or the result of anti-android terrorism. »
the other person’s voice poured through the speaker but he wasn’t listening. he stared blankly in front of him. no way, he thought, it couldn’t have been… the only sign that the android was registering the other man’s input was the now constant red LED.
« sir? sir. i’m sorry to bring this— – no, this isn’t right… you must have the wrong number, he interrupted. there were probably others with your name… maybe they were mistaken... – sir that’s not possible, w— – you must have gotten the wrong house… not… it-it couldn’t have been…» but he knew how improbable it was that they got the wrong number. he was built to be logical, to believe statistics. the statistics told him you were dead. long gone. he hoped and prayed that you stayed back, didn’t get on the earlier train. the statistics told him you did.
he choked out a response, quiet and defeated. you were gone. he’d never get to see you again. « i… i’m sorry… i-i don’t understand… – we tried our best to find them sir, but… the fire was too severe… if we gain any new developm— – you didn’t save them. »
still in a daze, he must have hung up on the poor man and unceremoniously dropped the phone. its clatter the only sound in this deafening silence. the reality of it all comes crashing through and he collapsed, ugly sobs escaping him as the denial faded away to make way for the pure and unfiltered grief. he felt lost. for the first time in a long while since amanda he felt so utterly and completely lost. no more shining beacon during his dark and stormy nights. no more valued affection and coveted kisses. no more notes and no more smile to come home to.
he laughed bitterly, devoid of any humour. it was funny, just how cruel the fates were: made human life so fleeting. lachesisonly gave them such a short eternity. and when he thought you both found your missing halves, bound to another by an invisible string, atropos cuts it. a small snippet that is so easily ripped away from you. he belonged with you, he felt at peace with you. he was able to be what he struggled to be for the majority of his miserable and artificial existence. with you, he was able to be happy.
but now he’ll have to get used to not coming home to a warm embrace. he’ll have to get used to going into stasis alone, in the cold bed. he’ll have to get used to his aching heart being greeted by an empty house. every cold and lonely  nights. it’s ridiculous how human he felt because of you. and he was both thankful and spiteful for it.
sadness and bitter regret ripped through him when he remembered that he didn’t  share goodbyes before he left. he remembered how he couldn’t have apologised to you and tenderly held you. he regretted not being able to tell you how much he loved you and how much you meant to him for the last time. ra9 only knows the things he’d do and the things he’d sacrifice, just to have you in his arms again.
instead he was faced with the bitter reminder that the last thing he’s ever said to you, your last memory of him, was a contemptuous and scornful « i wished i never met you ».

I was tagged by the amazing @gallavictorious Thank you so much for the tag and I’m sorry it took me this long to reply
Name: Miriam
Single or taken: Single as a single pringle. Honestly my studies don’t leave much time for a relationship(or hook-ups) and covid made it even more difficult.
Crushing: Nope, but who knows what the future might bring. It would be great.
Height: 1.68m. That’s about 5′6 according to google
Favorite color: Green and Yellow. They’re just great and make me feel happy and at peace.
Best friend: My best friends from High School and an awesome girl I’ve been friends with since we were children. I honestly wouldn’t know what I’d do without them. We see each other less these days, but the times we spend together are more precious and meaningful because of it.
Ever wanna get married: If necessary for practical reasons, maybe, but honestly, never thought about it seriously(also because I never had a long term relationship that might make you think about these things)
Want kids: Yes, but only if my life allows a child to be raised in it with all the love and attention it deserves. Otherwise it wouldn’t be fair to bring a child into this world.
Thai zodiac sign:  Sagittarius
Last drink: Tea, not sure which flavour because my dad made it for me
Goth, emo or both: Emo kid at heart
Glasses: Yes, or contacts. I like seeing the worlds around me and not dying when I go out the door.
Makeup: Love it when people are skilled at it. I, however, am not. I do try to make the bags under my eyes look less dark and put on some mascara when I feel like it.
Cat or dog: Both. How can I choose? Both have their own lovely traits and I just can’t pick one over the other. I can pick bunnies over both, though. Bunny supremacy.
Evil or good: Good. Some might think good is boring, but consider this: It’s good and it usually brings joy without harming others.
Favorite sport: To watch cycling and equitation. To do swimming and equitation. I’m planning on trying to get into cycling once I’m done studying, but for now, I’m just spending my time watching men and women in lycra ride their bikes on tv, I guess.
Favorite animal: Raccoon. Have you seen their little hands?!
Weird: Definitely, but that’s alright
Weird fact: My mouth sometimes tastes like iodine for no reason and I really don’t know what to think of it. (Sorry, my brain isn’t working, so you’re not getting an interesting fact. Maybe another time. Again, sorry!)
Do you have haters: If I do, they should tell me. probably just not noticeable enough.
Funny or nah: I don’t know, actually.
Apple or samsung: Neither. Android phone of other brands all the way.
Smart: I guess, but I can be way too dumb for a smart person at times. Like, how am I studying at university when I’m googling how to cook an egg?! I’m tagging whoever wants to do this. I’m pretty sure most people already have so I’m not tagging anyone specifically, but please consider yourself tagged if you haven’t already done this. No pressure of course
