Otaku Collection Set Functional for The Sims 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a 4to2 set converted from flirtyghoul. I made the bookcase, deco manga and action figures but not the posters because there are really too much recolors. Bookcase and deco manga are low poly, action figures are medium to high (5k to 10k). The bookcase has 21 slot and is actually functional to read and "asked to be read" manga.
There are 8 random manga from which your sims can choose (children can choose only for the Doraemon one as I tought it is more "childish"), but if you don't want to wait for the favourite manga to show up you can edit the book in buy mode with the design tool and choose the cover you like (useful for machinima purposes). Sims can also put back the manga in the bookcase (and also the standard books). I made the manga object buyable in buy mode for deco purpose too ^^ Found in Hobby - Knowledge (bookcase and manga) and Hobby - Miscellaneous (Deco Manga and Action Figures) I also added a Collection File so it will be easy to find the objects in Buy Mode.
If you want to add your favourite manga you can recolor the "Otaku Billy Bookcase - Manga" package file with simpe (I added texture samples in the download folder to make it easier to figure out) or change the 8 textures already present in the file with something else. Here a Tutorial from Poppet-sims.
Let me know if something isn't working properly :)
DOWNLOAD HERE
If you have a problem with Manga please delete "Otaku Billy Bookcase - Manga" package and replace it with this fix: MANGA FIX

New Story Blog & New Challenge Idea
I came up with a new challenge for Sims 2 called the Test of CC challenge and with that, decided to start a separate blog where I post my sim stories. If you're interested in that sort of thing, you can read them here.
The challenge is to start with vanilla game and work your way to modern era CC, as a way to appreciate old CC and remember how far creators have come!
Interested in the challenge? Read the rules below!
The Test of CC/Bygone Eras Challenge
Most people have heard of the Test of Time challenge, which got me thinking about bygone eras….of CC! So I came up with this challenge to dust off the CC of yesteryear and play the way Simmers of old used to.
The goal of this challenge isn't to be restrictive or particularly difficult, the goal is to simply revisit all that old CC and mods that were popular way back in the day; start from vanilla and eventually get to the modern age of custom content and modding. This challenge can easily be played alongside a lepacy but is not required.
Every generation includes 2 full years of CC and mods to browse through starting from the game's release. You can play however you want to, you can start with a premade hood in a premade family, you can make your own founders, play rotationally or legacy, you can even try to find one of the oldest custom hoods ever made, it doesn't matter, that part is up to you :) I've also included some optional goals for each generation.
Generation 1 - The Founders
Vanilla only! No CC is allowed in this generation, to cleanse your palettes of CC. All mods that do not directly fix your game are not allowed. Anything you use to make the game playable is acceptable, but anything else is not! Mods that fix things that were broken or taken away or otherwise unusable are allowed. Things like RPC, aging fixes, removal of perma plat, no corrupt death, stuck object remover, rug fixes, etc, are all acceptable, but things like changing your UI, ACR, midge's Romantic Standards, and such are not. Fail safe mods like simblender, memory manipulator, day setter, etc, are all acceptable, as the goal isn't to play a broken and frustrating game, but to see all the CC and mods people used to use! As you progress through the ages, you can begin to add in mods that were popular in that generation's years, like inteen. What you choose to keep is up to you, but keep it in the spirit of the challenge!
Optional: try not to let your sims die, try not to uninstall the game because you miss your mods. I personally cheated my sims in money to really see all the vanilla items and see them in their fullest glory.
Generation 2 - 2004-2005
Simple, but effective
The very first CC and mods were beginning to come out, and you'll be very surprised at what was available even in the first year of the game's release! While a lot of it isn't very pretty, and toddlers, kids, and elders didn't have very much, this is what people had at the time.
Optional: Have your sims live perfect lives. The game had just come out and most people were still exploring the game.
Generation 3 - 2006 -2007
Year of the Emos, ball gowns, and more
This is when things really start to get fun! A massive influx of CC and mods were beginning to come out, and a lot of it you might still be using to this day. This was also the era of emo/scene styles, and the beginning of sims stories and machinima. You'll also start to recognize some very familiar meshes!
Optional 1: Your teens become orphans! Somehow, in some tragic way, your teen's parents die, leaving them all alone, and he/she also becomes a teen parent. This was really popular back then, don't look at me. It's also extremely important to marry in a face 1 sim.
Optional 2: Make your own sims machinima or story! Go back in time and dig up some of those old videos on Youtube. Watch as people put their sims through it all and try to recreate that feeling. It doesn't need to be the best video or story ever, but have fun following the trends of this time period and recreating those feelings :) Also gives you an excuse to use all the smeared mascara makeup people made. Maybe a story about a teen getting dumped at prom, or some poor sim gets run over for no reason, a teen becomes an orphan or gets pregnant, go wild!
Generation 4: 2008-2009
Year of the…Celebrities?
There is so much CC in this time period to create ultra realistic sims, including celebrities! This is one of my personal favorite eras of CC
Optional: Go big or go home. Your sims live the life of luxury! They live in a giant mansion with everything they could ever want, Desperate Housewives style. Your sims start drama, get into petty cat fights, plot, steal, cheat, and otherwise live the life of a spoiled housewife/husband.
Generation 5: 2010-2011
The end of Sims 2 but not the end of CC….mostly
The Sims 2 might have ended, but people still created CC and mods! You'll start to see more modern mods coming out, ones that you probably use today to spice up your game. Things are a lot more chill in this era as people made stuff that fit all types, there's a lot less photoskinning going on, and the ultra shiny hair starts to phase out. There's honestly not a lot around this time, I guess most people had moved on to Sims 3, so it's slim pickings for clothing. Paris Hilton and emo kids are out, much more "normal" and less "socialite" is in.
Optional: make a love story to rival Twilight! Twilight was all the rage, and it could be seen reflected in sims stories across the world.
Generation 6: 2012-2013
What even happened this year?
CC only continues to reflect a more modern era, mods get more and more advanced, but the playerbase is more and more fractured. Challenges are more popular, toddler clothing previews get weirder, but there really isn't much else. Machinimas were replaced with actual feature length videos years ago, but they're still going strong.
Optional 1: Your sims go broke, losing everything. Reduce funds to zero, move into a smaller house, and start a new career. It'll make sense later, promise.
Optional 2: The Hunger Games exploded! Create a fun mini challenge where you pit your sim against other sims to fight to the death! Hope your sim has siblings in case they lose :)
Generation 7: 2014-2015
The Comeback Kid
The Sims 4 comes out and with it….conversions! There's still CC being created in the more traditional fashion as well, conversions don't take off straight away, but they do start.
Optional: Your sims make a huge comeback if they went broke in the previous era! Cheat in some funds to give them a nice blue suburban house and some extra cash to cushion things.
Generation 8: 2016-2017
The End of an Era
2017 is the last that time anyone uploaded something for the Sims 2 on The Sims Resource. Please give a moment of silence for this tragedy. There are over 5000 pages of CC for females alone on TSR, half of the first page of ALL Sims 2 downloads are from 2016-2017. Over on MTS, there are over 500 pages of CC for females, the last 17 pages cover 2016 to 2023. You realized generations ago that there are hundreds of dead sites dedicated to Sims 2 CC that are lost forever, and the two Big ones aren't doing much better when it comes to this version of the game. But I'm also sure that you know that most creators have moved on to other sites, mainly Tumblr!
Optional: Don't let go, keep the dream alive. Don't use any 4t2 items and stick to what you have. Only download things made in the traditional sense for the game, and continue to use older CC. You're not ready to move on yet, in rememberance to all those amazing creators from the past.
Generation 9: 2018-2019
The Start of Something New
I'm sure you miss your pretty, uncrunchy, modern CC, and we're almost there! But there's still some stuff left to look at in these years, stuff that we've all seen before. Stuff that I'm sure you have defaulted in your normal saves somewhere. Go grab all that stuff and mix it right in with your 4t2 items.
Optional: This is the year of strict wants and rotational gameplay for reasons unknown (but you can guess). Load up your ACR, crank those settings up, and only play strict wants based. Calculate everything, hope for your sims to autonomously do something, or roll for it. You're hands off, baby, let your sims take control.
Generation 10: 2020-2022 and beyond
The Modern Era
You made it! You've traveled back in time, dusted off those crunchy textures, and got to see what people of yesterday were playing with. Did you find things you like? Things you'll be incorporating into your downloads folder from now on? Do you have a new appreciation for modern CC? I certainly hope so if you stuck it out this long!
The rules are pretty flexible, as the whole point of this is to look at all the old CC created way back in the day. When it comes to mods, anything that fixes something that was broken in some patch are allowed, and mods that do something to a pack that was released after the year that you're on are also allowed. Examples include mods that fix butler behavior, pets, landlords, apartments, etc, are all fine. But if you're in Gen 1, ACR is not allowed, if you're in Gen 2, UI mods aren't allowed, and so on.
It's up to you to decide what mods you want to use, but keep the spirit of the challenge in mind. Don't put in things like 3t2 traits or planting overhauls or things that are clearly from Sims 4 game play. Try to think about what people of that year were playing with and try to play with those too. The one big exception I've allowed is Uni semester changes after gen 1, because the mods they had at that time are unreliable and often crashed the game.

Hi, Gloriana! I've always really liked your Sims and CC. I saw your post on Patreon about being sad that you aren't able to make Sims 2 machinima and I'm not a 'professional' by any means but I wanted to offer to potentially film for you if you'd like.
I'm rusty and haven't filmed in several years but I'm practicing and it'll come back to me eventually.
I'm unable to donate to you so I thought I could offer this instead. I don't want any money from you but if you wanted me to try and film for you and see what you think I wouldn't be opposed to a Sim if you wanted to make me one at some point.
You could send me your story/characters/sets and tell me the direction that your story goes and I could covert it into a script.
The only thing I won't film is NSFW.
I hope this isn't weird of me to offer. I can't speak French, but I can use a translator if that would help. even if those don't always work sometimes LOL.
I am busy IRL but I have a lot more free time in the winter.
-Pidge
AWWWWW!!! you are adorable :)
I could but saddly The story I'm working on is AFRICAN oriented and since I love sims 2 I'll making all the cc bymyself so it will take me years untill I'm 100% ready but I'l keep your offer in mind :) ,I have to really think about it seriously.
thank you very much for wanting to help <3
I'll contact you when I'm finally ready with all the costume :D

hi i just wanted to ask if you could go more in depth about your creative process? how much work goes into lykaia and making content for other things like your logo etc. im making sims content too and i want to improve on it and make my stuff more original. so people know its me when i post. and i also wanted to say i saw you say before about not stepping on other creators toes and as a small creator i really appreciate that because i feel like a lot of people don’t make space for other people. sometimes everything feels like a competition in the sims community and that’s why other creators don’t like to give credit to people they actually get influenced by because they don’t want their numbers to grow only they own. And most time i don’t even want to post because of that
Hmmm. I’ll talk about my creative process for sure. I like talking about my creative process lol. It’s gonna be long tho so.. you asked for it.
Background: Lykaia at its core is just a cinematic version of my gameplay save. I had a story in my head while I played their household, but it was never fully planned out. The first season of Lykaia was just me practicing with storytelling and machinima making. I didn’t really have any direction. I just made things up as I went. Lou’s friends never existed in my gameplay save. I just made them for the machinima. A lot of it was just finding my footing as I went. What the story has become now, I never planned. It sorta just happened. As it is now, Lykaia’s a fully planned out series with a brittle back bone lol. It’s a whole lot of making something out of nothing.
Planning the Series & Making It: So, I have a full outline for the season. Where I want to go and how that can be developed on further. From that, I plan out the episodes. Right now I have a week where I film and a week off from filming. On my off week, I write the script. Scene by scene. I storyboard it to visualize how I want each scene to look. Once the script is done after a draft or two, then I start setting for filming. I get everyone dressed, moved into the households, and get the sets built. On the week I film, I just go in and film. I try to go in order of scenes but sometimes I jump around. Especially if I’m excited to film a scene. I do about two scenes a day. They take about an hour or so to film each. (I’ve got a full time job, a fur baby to care for, my family, and my social life so my time to work on it is limited. I try to budget it wisely.) Then I usually edit while I’m in bed or cooking. I edit on my phone so I’m not carrying around my pc lol. Editing takes the longest and it’s the most tedious part. I go in and add in the into, outro, title card, then I add in the scenes and the breaks. If I have to overlay something then I do that before audio. And the. I color grade each scene individually. Last thing to do is audio. I hate audio. I break it up scene by scene and mix some of the music myself depending on the episode. Once I do a quick check, the episode is done and ready to export. Sometimes I pick the title beforehand, but I usually don’t come up with a name until after the full episode is done.
The Brand: Ophernelia and Kiricheu are a brand. (Ophernelia being like the parent company in a sense) Especially Ophernelia since I have a Patreon for it. I run Ophernelia as a sole proprietor, so branding is important for me. Anything I have my hand in, I take seriously. (“It’s just sims content” Sure. For now at least. Doesn’t mean ima take it any less seriously lol) Especially since I’ve curated an audience and one that pays. Idc if it’s $2. It’s money spent, so I want my audience to get quality content. Branding’s been tough because I’m super indecisive lol. I like to change things up constantly but when it comes to like a company type of thing, you shouldn’t really do that. Which is why I hate changing mine. Especially once I find something that works. It makes me feel like I’m failing my audience by not being consistent. As of now though, I love my branding. I feel like it reflects my content style really well. It took a few tries to make. I looked through old art I’ve done and tried to combine it with my current style. Somehow I came up with how it looks currently. I think it’s pretty, I wanna stick with it. It took a while to get here, but 8 months later, here we are. I’ve been trying to rely a little less on external programs (like canva) and more on me actually making my stuff myself. So I hopped into procreate and got to work lol.
Ultimately, I just make stuff I like and sometimes I like to share it with other people. And when I do share it, I try to do it to the best of my ability and while trying to be mindful of others. It’s hard and idk if I do it well but I’m trying! The process of getting there is almost always enjoyable. Almost lol.

Hi girl!💖 I just wanted to say you're a huge inspiration to me and wanting to make a series of my own. I have a few questions that hopefully won't be too "personal". When you send your VAs their lines, do you share them around with the other VAs so they know how to respond/act out their voices or do you solely leave it up to them and use whatever material you get? And my last question is do your VAs know each other? Like have they been introduced to one another before working for you?💕
Hellooo! Thank you so much 💕 I'm happy to help out a new director, so please always ask away :)
I'm not sure I understood the first question very well. You either meant: When you send your VAs their script, or you meant: When your VAs send you their lines. Just incase, i'll answer both! LOL
First variation of the question: When you send your VAs their script
If you're asking me if I send my VAs only their lines, as opposed to the entire scene, like such:
VERSION 1: JUST THEIR LINES:
JONAH Hey.
JONAH That's nice.
VERSION 2: THE ENTIRE SCENE:
JONAH Hey.
NOAH F/ck off.
JONAH That's nice.
Then it's definitely Version 2, LOL! It's near impossible for the VAs to guess what tone they need to go with if they're just given their lines. Something I do, though, is: My scripts are super long (usually 70+ pages), so to not burden my VAs with all of that, I usually send them only the scenes that concerns their characters (unless they explicitly ask me for the entire script). This usually means scenes where they have lines, but sometimes I also include scenes they might not have lines in, if they carry context I feel is essential for how they play the scenes they do have lines in.
THE RIVER S1 SPOILERS: For example, even though Benji did not have any lines in the Noah-Raven confession scene in the season finale, I still provided his VA the scene so that he can be in the loop. So, when Benji is warning Faye of what he overheard, his VA understands the gravity of the situation because he got to read what Benji, the character, would have overheard. I hope that makes sense!
Second variation of the question: When your VAs send you their lines, do I share them with others?
I do not! VAs are usually given a certain amount of time to deliver lines (I give 4-6 weeks). If you're going to wait for one VA to deliver their lines before sending it to the other VA so they know how to react to it, then it's going to be near impossible to receive all the lines on time. Most VAs who voice act in the sims community for free do it as a hobby (bless them), so a lot of times they take up the 4 weeks + the extension, especially if things are hectic in their personal/work/school life. Waiting for one VA to send in their lines, to then send that to the other VA and wait again for them to send in their lines? And then to do that with a possible third, fourth, five person (depending on how many characters there are in that particular scene)...That sounds like a never ending nightmare to me, LOL.
An alternative to this is holding a sort of table read when you first share the episode. Some directors have been doing this recently: The VAs of a project and its director get together on a call and read the script out loud, and the director can sort of explain to each VA what exactly they want and how they should react to one another.
I've personally never held one of these because I don't think it's really necessary. Letting my VAs wing it and working with the material I get has worked for me so far, and i've been doing this for six years now! I don't think it's necessary to overcomplicate things with stuff like that, especially when the machinima making process is already so hectic in the first place
As for the second question:
My VAs do know each other! Most of them have been working together for six years now, and they've become really close friends. The sims community is a very tight-knit community, so all the VAs usually know each other, but some VAs of The Rivers did meet through The Rivers and are now close friends <3 Which makes me super happy.
With The Rivers, I didn't introduce the VAs to each other (they all just befriended each other over time), but I did make a discord for the VAs of my other project, The Foundlings, so they can get acquainted before we started working on the series.
So, as someone who has done both (not introducing vs. introducing the VAs before a project starts), I can tell you that...... It doesn't really make a difference, LOL. Of course, it's so nice seeing your VAs become friends, but if we're talking about its effect on the series itself, or the quality of the voice acting, it doesn't really change anything. At least, not with me.
You need to keep in mind that the voice actors are voice acting from the comfort of their homes, and not together in a studio booth, like with a real-life voice over project. So the VAs being acquainted isn't going to do anything for the characters' chemistry, for example, when they're not voice acting off each other's energies to begin with. I hope that makes sense!
Hope I answered your questions!! Please feel free to ask anything else, i'm here to help 💕

hi. have you ever thought of doing a tumblr story in sims 2? i think you have the right knowledge and potential to storytell and with your graphics i think the story would really be on another level
Thank you! :) Unfortunately, I’m only visiting tumblr for summer vacation. I’m currently in my 4th year of art uni and things are getting steadily more serious. I decided to give myself a month or two to relax after finishing my 3rd year but still wanted to do something art/concept design related :) BUT sims are very time-consuming and tbh I was never really good at coming up with good stories to begin with. I like making gifs/super short machinimas because it lets me just plant an idea of a story/a mood/an image and you can imagine the rest to your liking! :) Guess that is why my works are always so damn moody and dramatic lol

Please god do you have recommendations on the best series to watch
Some of my personal recomendations that I can list from the top of my head, I will be writing a lot of text below so hold onto your horses.
My Life- NatalieFirexx
Still running to this day and in its 12th season. So amazing to see the growth over the years. The first seasons are so funny in a sense of knowing a little Christian emo kid made them, but later seasons have developed into such an interesting story with beautiful visuals, incredible cinematography and relationships that you end up caring about so deeply. Every season has a new storyline to follow and it's always so wild remembering all that's happened in its 10 year run and thinking up what else is to come. Though season 12 is said to be it's final season and I look forward to seeing what Natalie has in store for us after the finale.
The story of My Life follows the Andrews family and their friends in everyday shenanigans, you know, the usual: teen pregnancy, kidnapping, vampires, murder, identity theft, angels, ghosts, hacked kids and love.
(There's also a My Life Abridged voice acting series of season 1 currently in the works, now at episode 5)
Smooth Criminal - SaltPepperSims1408
I always have fun rewatching this. Its only 2 seasons long and once again, a sims series that evolved over it's run. Following Abby as her life goes from normal (if you can call your illegal scientist parents experimenting on criminals in your basement normal) to having visions of her parent's test subject's past and joining his gang where hes the leader and battles a disease that gives him 10x the strength and intelligence of a regular human being. Catch is, this genetic disease is rare and makes you go insane. Most people with it end up insane by 30.
A series with a lot of guns, a badass female main protag, death, once again, teen pregnancy (which will be a common sims series theme), fun dream/vision sequences and in my opinion has a great sense of humour.
SaltPepperSims1408 also has a highly recommended voice over series (though incomplete) titled Apokalypsis, a group of young adults/teens trying to survive in an apocalypse.
CINDER - GrayLeeStudios
Based on the book CINDER by Marissa Meyer. Cinder is a beautifully made voice over series, great visuals, wonderfully told it's story, though it is incomplete at 5 episodes, each running 10-18 minutes. Loosely based on the original Cinderella story but in a futuristic Beijing, adding robots, a colonization on the moon and a deadly plague that has affected the Emperor.
The protagonist is the mechanic, Lihn Cinder. Despite how well known her work as a mechanic is, she is looked down on for being a cyborg and is presented for plague research where she and Prince Kai become closer.
Y O U T H - 1998sims
YOUTH is a retelling of Youth, also a sims series by the same creator that reached its second season before discontinuing. Already a series that dealt with real life issues and involved a lot of representation in its characters. YOUTH is a different experience with all new characters, even more representation and everyone still feeling real in a way where their identities don't define them but are in NO WAY erased at all, like they're real people. When comparing the two series you can see the similar storyline but now its so much fresher and with new characters, their decisions in these situations change. Follows the story of multiple characters in their teen years and learning to deal with being a teen or in some cases having to make adult decisions despite that. Currently up to episode 5 but there is still so much more to come.
1998sims is also the creator behind Avoiding Fate, Its Complicated (currently not available online) and the most iconic series that I HIGHLY suggest you watch; My Sims 2 Emo Teen Pregnancy Kidnapping Story
SOUP - SimFilm
This sims 3 voice over series is brand new, as of this month, with one episode released but I'm already in love with it. It has this deadpan sense of humour I can get behind and I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes. It appears the episodes will be short and sweet but I really don't mind at all.
Our protagonist, Harris Gold, alphabetizes his life's misfortunes like a can of alphabet soup.
I quote "looks pretty decent on the outside, but when you open the can, you'll simply want to kill yourself"
The filming is wonderful, I love the voice actors and how well they play their roles, the story so far is fun and silly but deals with really strong issues other teenagers might have experienced growing up. Kind of like laughing the pain away and I adore it.
Raison D'etre - Cornymio
I haven't watched a lot of sims 4 machinima if im to be honest (since life to death stories are so rampant on YouTube at the moment and I'd rather just avoid them) but this series was very well made. Only 2 episodes but the voice acting is amazing, the sims custom animations are wonderful and at times the sims can be almost perfectly lip synced to the voices. Has an indie film vibe that I adore, very calming and I adore the camera work. This is a revamp of the creators old Sims 3 series by the same title.
Reine Reynolds enrols herself into a new school, here we meet a variety of students who are all relatable in one way or another with different relationships amongst themselves. A nice watch and won't take long to get through.
Marry Me! - Tickled007
This is actually a companion piece to Marry You by Maot Productions. Marry You has more episodes and progressed it's story much further but personal preference I like Marry Me!'s characters and humour better. Not a fault to the creators though, since I believe they wrote both stories together and I do still recommend you go watch Marry You as well, just my personal taste. I also watched this very recently which is probably why it's on my mind rn.
Marry Me! Is a 2 episode long (so far) voice over series that's quite high energy, it's about a loud "bitch" fashion designer called Serafie and a "pushover" called Carmion. Two opposites that somehow cross paths and after a money hiccup, Seraphie demands that Carmion marry her. I love how silly it is, very kdrama inspired. If you can get past the overused swooping sfx in episode one (which drove me insane but will go away in episode 2) I think it's super enjoyable.
Tickled007 is also the creator of Passcode Unknown, Too Popular and And... Obvious.
I feel it unfair not to mention Maot Productions other creations either since they were also a big part of the Marry Me! Marry You project. They created Sense Me Not!, Corrupted Souls, Cruel Temptation and Retribution
Other simmers and their series that I highly recommend but realise this ask is going to get extremely long
EkolarasMagnum
Their series tend to have this grungy highschool feel to them but I get behind it. They're known for their more interesting sims style, some people love it, some people hate it but it shouldn't get in the way of the interesting stories. I used to adore their work so much as a teenager!
- Advocated
- Strangers
- Volatile
PumpkinsAtTheDisco
Made a variety of sims series based on books (before these same books were made into films) such as the Hunger Games. This creator is incredibly talented from filming, writing to composing their own music. You can really see their improvement over the years too. I love their work.
- The Hunger Games
- Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children
- Dimension 17
- Post Icarus
- Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
StarsToShinex
Their concepts are fun and they have good voice actors. Their filming and editing is nice but their work does have an anime feel if that's more your taste.
- Spotlight
- My guardian
- My guardian- the next chapter
- Seeking Faith
- The last day
MajesticFilms
Their aesthetics are lovely, they make a lot of visually pleasing machinima. I admire their editing.
- Paper Boats
- Arsonist's Lullaby
- Sounds of Silence
- Machinima playlist
ViNtAgELovv11
Still works on videos now and I adore their work, been around for 10 years and only continuing to improve. I believe their most known series wou lkd have to be wasteland but please check out their newer works too!
- Scum City
- Wasteland
- Wonderland
- Runaway
- ROADS
There are so much more and i might make a pt.2 or something along those lines one day since this ask is getting long. But I also have a list of simmers and series on my navigation page if you want to search through some more works.

Oh boy I have so many potential goals I want to achieve, but here are the ones I’ll be focusing for next year:
Get to the 8th generation of the Bellerose Legacy Challenge. I was stuck on the 6th generation for an entire year, which is just sad. I’ve played a bit during the last months and some interesting things happened! I’ll be happy to share them with you!
Release more trait mods. I took a break since it was getting overwhelming, but I’ll slowly resume. (Small side goal: release a mod for vegetarian Sims).
Make at least one bodyshape outfit conversion. We really need more clothes for plus-sized male Sims and I really liked my first experience making one.
Release a 3t2 functional object. I’ve extracted the object and now I only need to add the interactions. I’m really excited to make it work! Hint: it’s a super expensive object from the base game.
Post some scenery space/scifi/futuristic pictures. I made another Sims 2 folder that only has CCs matching these themes. @deedee-sims‘ lovely alien world Niven inspired me to do this.
I have other goals (like making a machinima, doing a challenge and posting some gameplay pics of my BACC neighborhood), but that will be too much. Maybe if I complete all the main goals above!
I tag @mynameisquoi, @phinae-simblr, @nixedsims, @veetiesims2 and @dramallamadingdang. Of course, feel free to ignore. ♪

3D Computer Animation Motion Picture Manufacturer - The Development of Making Animations in your home
Tumblr media
I guess a lot of individuals would like to make their very own movies. By that I suggest to go beyond modifying together motion picture clips taken while on vacation, to making films which narrate مسلسلات اجنبية . Professional actors are expensive and most friends don't make great actors. This is why making a 3D animation movie is a gratifying low cost alternative. I remember a vacation flick my papa made in the 1950s. It had a computer animated title filmed, like the remainder of the movie on 8mm celluloid film. When I asked him concerning it, he informed me he had placed his cam in a clamp pointing at the flooring. He then produced the first letter of the title using a piece of string and shot it for a number of seconds, then he developed the 2nd letter and more. It was numerous days later, when the film came back from the developing laboratory that he found that his desk lamp had not really been adequate to brighten his job correctly. Along came computers. It took a while before computer systems obtained good at graphics, also stationary ones. Yet obviously they did ultimately obtain great, not only at making still scenes, yet also computer animations. Hollywood workshops being able to pay for high powered hardware and also software did not make it easily accessible to the amateur movie maker. The high price of professional 3D computer animation software application brought about the idea of Machinima. In Machinima low-cost computer games are used to tape 3D animated movie clips. Some computer games have an electronic camera or record function developed into them, as well as for others which do not, there are added utilities such as Fraps, which can be used for videotaping the game action. Popular Machinima games consist of Quake, Unreal Tournament and SIMS 2. These video games feature the ability to develop your very own collections as well as personalities, either as component of the primary game itself or using energies, which are supplied with the video game. Unquestionably getting specifically the film clips you want from these video games can be tough. I never ever did learn how to split characters in Unreal Tournament or Quake from their weapons, which meant unless you wished to make a shoot 'em up film, they were not perfect. No doubt obstacles similar to this can be gotten over, however it seemed you might not get extremely far unless you were prepared to obtain immersed in scripting language. Of the three video games I have actually discussed, SIMS 2, is most likely the simplest to use for making Machinima, except that the personalities, or in our instance actors, tend to have minds of their very own. Your movie celebrity might wander off component means through recording, or a person else you don't acknowledge, may instantly turn up and also disrupt the scene you are shooting. If you neglected to acquire fire insurance, with SIMS 2 you might even find your movie established spontaneously combusting during shooting. Probably this resembles motion picture making in reality, but I would favor not to have to bear with all of these unpredictabilities. You may ask yourself why no one has generated a spending plan software application product, specifically for the function of making 3D animations at home. Microsoft did specifically that in the mid 1990s with an item called 3D Movie Maker, which they targeted at the kids market. However the item was created for very early PCs, so it was pretty basic, on many residence PCs it was sluggish, and also it was soon terminated. Lately there has been recognition of this unfulfilled need. Reallusion in particular, has established a 3D animation motion picture maker called iClone. This software program is pretty much a dream happened for any individual that wishes to narrate making use of 3D animation. In its fundamental form it costs about the like a new top end computer game, while the advanced and more useful Pro version is still extremely practical. You could make a whole movie in iClone, I locate it is best to utilize it to create a series of 3D computer animation film clips as well as to then edit them with each other utilizing Microsoft Movie Maker, which comes as part of Windows, or utilizing a more sophisticated home motion picture modifying suite such as Pinnacle Studio. By that I suggest to go beyond editing with each other movie clips taken while on holiday, to making movies which tell a tale. I keep in mind a vacation flick my daddy made in the 1950s. Hollywood workshops being able to afford high powered equipment as well as software program did not make it easily accessible to the amateur film maker. I never did find out how to part personalities in Unreal Tournament or Quake from their weapons, which implied unless you wanted to make a shoot 'em up motion picture, they were not excellent. Maybe this is like film making in real life, however I would prefer not to have to place up with all of these unpredictabilities.

The Evolution of Making Animations at Home
Tumblr media
I guess a lot of people would like to make their own movies. By that I mean to go beyond editing together movie clips taken while on holiday, to making movies which tell a story. In most cases professional actors are expensive and most friends don't make good actors. This is why making a 3D animation movie is a satisfying low cost alternative. I remember a holiday movie my father made in the 1950s. It had an animated title filmed, like the rest of the movie on 8mm celluloid film. When I asked him about it, he told me he had put his camera in a clamp pointing at the floor. He then created the first letter of the title using a piece of string and filmed it for a couple of seconds, then he created the second letter and so on. It was several days later, when the film came back from the developing laboratory that he discovered that his desk lamp had not really been adequate to illuminate his work properly. Then along came computers. It took a while before computers got good at graphics, even stationary ones. But of course they did eventually get good, not only at rendering still scenes, but also animations. Unfortunately Hollywood studios being able to afford high powered hardware and software did not make it accessible to the amateur movie maker. The high price of professional 3D animation software led to the concept of Machinima. In Machinima inexpensive computer games are used to record 3D animated movie clips. Some computer games have a camera or record function built into them, and for others which do not, there are additional utilities such as Fraps, which can be used for recording the game action. Popular Machinima games include Quake, Unreal Tournament and SIMS 2. These games come with the ability to design your own sets and characters, either as part of the main game itself or using utilities, which are provided with the game. Admittedly getting exactly the movie clips you want from these games can be challenging. I never did find out how to part characters in Unreal Tournament or Quake from their guns, which meant unless you wanted to make a shoot 'em up movie, they were not ideal. No doubt obstacles like this could be overcome, but it seemed you could not get very far unless you were prepared to get immersed in scripting language. Of the three games I have mentioned, SIMS 2, is probably the easiest to use for making Machinima, except that the characters, or in our case actors, tend to have minds of their own. So your movie star may wander off part way through filming, or someone else you don't recognize, might suddenly turn up and disrupt the scene you are shooting. With SIMS 2 you might even find your movie set spontaneously combusting during filming if you forgot to buy fire insurance. Perhaps this is like movie making in real life, but I would prefer not to have to put up with all of these uncertainties. So you may wonder why no one has produced a budget software product, specifically for the purpose of making 3D animations at home. In fact Microsoft did exactly that in the mid 1990s with a product called 3D Movie Maker, which they targeted at the kids market. However the product was designed for early PCs, so it was pretty basic, on most home PCs it was slow, and it was soon discontinued. Recently there has been recognition of this unfulfilled need. Reallusion in particular, has developed a 3D animation movie maker called iClone. This software is pretty much a dream come true for anyone who wants to tell a story using 3D animation. In its basic form it costs about the same as a new top end computer game, while the more advanced and more useful Pro version is still very reasonable. Although you could make a whole movie in iClone, I find it is best to use it to construct a series of 3D animation movie clips and to then edit them together using Microsoft Movie Maker, which comes as part of Windows, or using a more advanced home movie editing suite such as Pinnacle Studio. Other key points to note about iClone are that if you want to get up and running very quickly, there is a good library of actors, scenes and props, which you can purchase to add to the collection, which comes with the program itself. On the other hand if you are short of cash and prefer to build everything yourself and have plenty of time to spare, you can do that too using the tools included in the software. If you have any queries concerning exactly where and how to use New Animation Movies, you can speak to us at the website. One optional utility, which I recommend purchasing bundled with the iClone, is Reallusion's 3DXchange. This allows you to import content from other sources, including Google 3D Warehouse, which is a fantastic resource full of free models of buildings and other props, to enhance your 3D animations. I find it amazing to think that with a budget of less than $1,000 I can now purchase a PC and the software required to make 3D animation movies, when twenty years ago I would have needed $ millions for less capable facilities.

Hey Lati!
I’m so sorry to press you for more information, but I’m so fascinated by your filming process and I have some additional questions if that’s okay. Specifically around your sets that are just individual rooms, are these just multiple secular room sets on one lot, or do you use a different lot for each set? Like with the River’s house when any family member is coming downstairs, is Tresor or Raign’s room not on that lot? The living room and kitchen? Lol I’m just so fascinated by this if that’s the case, and if so it’s extremely impressive because they look like they all could actually be one complete set. Sorry if this makes zero sense, I’ve just never thought to try this and now I really want to! ☺️ Thanks so much!
Haha no you make total sense!! First of all thank you for watching my series, and don't worry at all about asking questions! I know filming with The Sims 2 can be difficult bc of how often it crashes and its loading time, so any tips I can give to help the game crash less, im happy to share 💖
The sets are actually on different lots entirely! So, when Tresor "comes downstairs", or the characters go from the living room to the kitchen, I load an entirely new lot! I think the only exception I make is with bathrooms because they're so tiny haha, but any time you see the characters going from one room to the other, it's usually a different lot all together. :')
It may sound exhausting to some, having to jump from one lot to another, but over the years (I've been doing this since 2017, at least!) I've managed some tips that help, for those that are interested:
1) I make multiple sims of the same character, so that every sim belongs to every lot! So, if Tresor for example needs to be in her bedroom, the living room and Simons bar within the same episode, I create 3 Tresors (TresorBED, TresorLIVING, TresorBAR), and that way I don't have to move her around.
I should also note that I change neighborhoods every episode (more on that in tip #3), so it might sound like a lot of sims over the episodes but really it's usually just 3 versions of the same character in one neighborhood at a time.
You might find it's easier to just move the sims from one lot to the other, but in my experience moving the sims around (or using the tombstone to extract them) always ends up crashing my game so this is a really good way to avoid it all together!
2) I don't film chronologically, but by sets! This is my #1 tip. I basically gather up all the scenes I have in 1 set and I film them. That way i dont have to go back and forth between lots, instead I just finish off all the scenes I need using a lot and move on to the next! Sometimes a set has so many scenes I end up filming in one set for weeks at a time (usually Simons bar, haha, that S2E1 Christmas episode needed like 3 sets (Simons bar, Simons living room, The Rivers living room), and I spent two months just filming in Simons bar).
The only time I won't recommend this, is when you havent yet found your own style. Then you might risk something like this happening: You're just starting to film, and you have the 1st and last scene in the episode in the same set. So, you film them both. Then you film a couple more scenes after that, and then you reach the final set and by then your filming skills have changed (if you haven't found your style and take months filming an episode - which is completely valid, BTW - this could mean a drastic change). Then, scene #1 (which you filmed at the very beginning) could have a completely different filming style than scene #2 (which you filmed at the very end), and so on. You wouldn't want that.
I had something like that happen to me, where I discovered reshade mid-filming an episode, so the scenes I filmed at the beginning of the episode didnt have it, and then the scenes I filmed at the end did it. It made the epsiode look incosistent, which is something I don't really care about (and neither do my viewers, really), but you might so letting you know as a heads up! Some of these tips do compromise the "professionalism" of the episodes, but it's how i manage to film and pop out episodes with (relative) quickness :').
Thats why for many reasons, including should you want to film by set instead of chronologically, I suggest you find your style before filming an episode or starting a series all together. This can be done through creating small machinimas, filming tests, music videos, etc. Take it from someone who can't even handle sitting through the first 8 episodes of my own series because of how much my style back then. The way it drastically changed from one episode to another irks me so much! 😅
3) And this is my most controversial one, LOL, but I always build sets + new neighborhoods from scratch with every episode. As I mentioned above, I change neighborhoods with every episode because, in my experience, neighborhoods get corrupt with time so starting with a fresh neighborhood every episode helps avoid crashing. Previously, neighborhoods would get so corrupt, they'd stop loading at all mid-filming an episode, so im forced to interrupt my filming streak and build the sets and characters all together which absolutely wrecks any motivation I have to film afterwards. Once, this happened mid-filming a scene and so I had to rebuild, and let me tell you: Theres a difference between sets looking a bit different because I had to rebuild between episodes, and sets looking different within the same scene. At least when you rebuild the set with every new episode, you can blame minor changes on the fact that time passed from one episode to the other.
Also: I make sure to build all the sets I need for the episode before I start filming, because I dont want anything to interrupt my filming once I start it. If Im forced to build when I'm motivated to film, I end up losing that motivation in the time I spend building, if that makes sense. As u probably already know as a machinima maker, we do the work that is usually required of a team (writer, director, editor, and also stylist and set designers), so I like to do things one at a time so I can have a clear understanding of my schedule and timetable. So, I dedicate 2 days to style all the sims, a week or so to build all the sets, usually months to film the episode, then another week to edit and audio edit. I try my best not to have all of those parts overlapping, otherwise it gets too overwhelming.
The reason I rebuild from scratch, as opposed to just extracting the lot and installing it in a new neighborhood is because, again, I prefer a fresh start and have found that lots are less likely to get corrupt if they're "new". A lot of people think im crazy for it LOL, or that it's a colossal waste of time, and maybe it is! But it's the process that works best for me, and I end up filming really fast with much less crashing and hiccups because of it!
Hope that helps!!! :') Let me know if you have any other questions about my filming process or any other tips 💖💖💖 I'd love to help!

Some Sim Relater Tag or Other
I was tagged by @lovelychooser aka my mom that supports me in everything I do (thank you my love).
1. What’s your favorite sims death? Awh, I hate watching my sims die because they’re my babies but I’d have to say dying from embarrassment because...relatable.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Well, I was strictly maxis match but I gotta say I’m starting to love alpha. So, right now a mix?
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Ok, I don’t know why but this is not an issue for me. My sims just do not gain weight, but if they did I would probably be fine with it. I mean, more to love, right?
4. Do you use move objects? Absolutely.
5. Favorite mod? Wicked Whims  lmfao just kidding. For storytelling for sure the teleport mod for saving my ass but for gameplay I love MC Command Center. It makes things so much more unpredictable and exciting.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?  I first played the base game sims 2 when I was about seven, so yeah!
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Wow, I’ve never thought about this before o.O I always said it as (a)live mode.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Hmmm that’s hard, not because I’m amazing at CAS or anything just because I grow so much attachment to all of my sims for different reasons. Right now, I’m really feeling Dakota or Sebastian.
9. Have you made a simself? Never made one. Mostly because I don’t think I’m self aware enough to make an accurate looking one lmao.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself? Probably gloomy, ambitious, glutton.
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color? Ooh, I really like the gray one hahahah.
12. Favorite EA hair? Definitely that base game one that’s like long with the strands from the middle coming through on the shoulders. Like the one with the layers. You have no idea what I’m talking about. Found it (Val’s old hair)!
13. Favorite life stage? Teen for sure. I love how they get all these new interactions/responsibilities but they have the dreams of a kid (wow art imitates life lmao).
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? HA! I suck at building so yea definitely gameplay.
15. Are you a CC creator? I hope to be one day. The task just looks very daunting.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I honestly don’t think I’ve been here long enough. Two week anniversary just past (woot woot). But maybe someday if I’m lucky!
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) Ahhh! I like them all for different reasons except for ts1 don’t shoot me I was just born when it came out. Sims 2 for the music and nostalgia. Sims 3 for the simblr realism (holy cow) and all the countless machinima shows I watched!! Sims 4 for how user friendly it is, the emotions, and how friendly it is on my wallet ($).
18. Do you have any sims merch? Nah, I wish, but I probably only ever be nerdy and wear it when I’m editing (we all know I need a cape if I’m going to tackle the challenge that it is lawl)
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims? Ha, yes! It’s only got one video though. I plan on expanding it once I get my blog going.
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Bruh, I’ve been here like 2 days (but I’ve really grown to liking really long faces on my sims, that might be my thing?)
21. What’s your Origin ID? writehoodie!!
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator? Gosh, I like a lot of them. I’d say @bonehlda not only for the username but also because her content is just so trendy.
23. How long have you had a simblr? Technically 22 days but I didn’t start posting until about 17 days or so ago.
24. How do you edit your pictures? With tears! (and photoshop)
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Honestly, I’d love something that we’ve never had before in any other of the generations. Right now, I feel like we’re on a constant loop of repeating things from TS3 and TS2.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? Get Together for sure. At first I hated it because I thought it sounded dumb just to have places to hangout but there’s so much more to it! It gives my sims lots of things to do and I love making little social groups.
Ahh! Sorry if you’ve already done this but I’m just going to tag some lovelies. Also, if you’re not tagged and would like to do this, consider yourself tagged baby!  @neutralsupply @nicotinc @femmesim @peonypyxels @blackthornsims @something-wicked-sims

Why do people enjoy playing THE SIMS? (Quora.com)
It's like playing with a dollhouse, only with level-ups, quests, and random inputs helping make the "characters" feel alive. The fun of the sims is exactly the fun kids get out of dollhouses -- being largely in charge of some small fictional entities, setting up their habitat in ways that please or amuse you, and manipulating the dramas of their little invented lives to be hilarious, emotional, or anything else that you want them to be.
The computer-game aspect of it means that each of them can have their little meters running down, giving you the fun of a time-management game, and each of them can have a game-chosen (or you-chosen) long-term goal to work towards. Some people have also made up additional rulesets for bonus points like playing a Legacy Challenge, to see what long-term varieties of success you can rack up. Some people like to trace the "genetics", following a weird eye-color or whatever through multiple generations of a family. Some people make sims that look like various fictional characters and host their own almost-machinima, screen-shotting it and telling a story. Like Minecraft, the Sims are really a toy, not a game, in the classical sense: there is not one designated preferred way to play it that is "right," and so lots of people play it for lots of different reasons. https://www.quora.com/Why-do-some-people-enjoy-playing-The-Sims-Why-does-playing-the-game-give-you-pleasure Legacy challenge couple have a child 10 times, no cheating Bad trait like hates outdoors and force them to stay outside Write diary stories of your sims' lives (dollhouse) Ground rules: Aging set to normal.  No use of life-extending potions (long-life trait from health/exercise ok) New book starts with heir reaching adult age and moving out of the house within 3 days of aging up. Each generation will have at least 2 children, with the heir always being chosen by the community before the eldest comes of age. No custom sims will be moved into the household.  Spouses will always be townies. Each successive generation’s names will start with the next letter of the alphabet following their parent-heir.  This is mostly to keep track of the generations. I am not using cheats that directly benefit the success of the sim, only those that help for story telling and screenshots.
