We all know that this Roe.vs.Wade ruling is about controlling women, White women specifically, because they maintain the legacy of white supremacy through their wombs. Yesterday, Abortion clinics in West Virginia were immediately closed down after the ruling even though there’re were White women scheduled months out to have procedures that day. They already know that some women will travel outside of the state to seek terminations but most poor White women will not have the means & will just end up giving birth.
This is why the U.S. granted an exemption to Ukrainian asylum-seekers into the country while simultaneously keeping BIPOC asylum-seekers back-logged & waiting outside of Mexico. U.S. conservatives want the offspring of Ukrainians to assimilate into “American whiteness”. They want White babies to continue this reign of White power they have in the United States. That’s what Amy Coney Barrett means by “Domestic Supply of infants”.
This is also why illegal hysterectomies were performed on Central American/Latin women at Immigration detainment centers & the Black maternal mortality rates is not addressed within the government & the medical field.
Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy: Our Maternal Death Rates Are Only Bad If You Count Black Women. “Cassidy said that while Black people make up a third of the state’s population and experience higher rates of pregnancy-related deaths, “if you correct our population for race, we’re not as much of an outlier as it’d otherwise appear.”
A lot of Black/POC are taking this news to heart (as they should because this decision means 33% rise in pregnancy related deaths for Black women) However, BIPOC were never a factor in any of this. This time it’s not about destroying us ⚫️ this is about preserving them ⚪️. But as usual we are the collateral damage.
This ruling was in the works for a long time WITH the cooperation of the Democrats & White women in power …..because White preservation is ALWAYS this Country’s priority.
Since we were not a factor in this heinous decision. The colonizer shouldn’t be a factor and how we choose to create life. Prior to colonization the concept of we now call “doulas” included the role terminating unwanted pregnancies. My mother grew up on a farm in the Caribbean & when a fetus was threatening the life of the mother, A skilled member of the community would be summoned to end that pregnancy.
I am in 100% support of mutual aid providing contraception as the first line of defense. But, also an underground network of Black & POC reproductive service providers because (it’s apparent) that the system that currently provides our services can care less whether we (Black women & femmes) all suffer and die.

Thinking many many thoughts about how Jean was Riko's partner for a YEAR and was still rooming with Goon #3. Because that was how unwilling Riko was to let go of Kevin. And how that implies that Jean was placed as his partner both because of the practicality of Kevin being gone AND as a punishment for letting him go in the first place. Being partners with Jean could actually slow Riko down depending on how often he's hurt (because I don't think Riko was all that exempt from the rules to the point where his partner's performance would completely not matter) and he was still placed there. Riko was just THAT angry at him over Kevin's escape. And all the while he was keeping Kevin's side of room like an altar, even back when he didn't even think Kevin could PLAY, because of an injury he caused.

in regard to the icemav convo about american made cars: I think it would be funny if after mav gets his regular license, ice buys him a truck that they can use for transporting stuff to the hangar and when he gifts it to mav all the man can do is laugh bc stamped across the ass is MAVERICK. It’s a 2023 ford maverick (in area 51 bc I’m partial to that color)
and mav likes it, but he doesn’t love driving it bc it’s so big (and he just likes being a passenger princess too much), so ice drives it mostly which inspires a whole lot of jokes about ice liking having maverick’s name stamped on his ass. bradley gags from the other room every time.
if it matters to u, i agree with this hc 150% on rhetoric grounds. thank god for your mind.
however i would like to raise the issue that recent american pickup trucks have become non-useful, overexpensive, and suburban-coded in a way i think ice and mav would reject. the ford maverick was built with the intention of dropping kindergarteners off at school, not of actually doing hard labor. see below infographic for what I mean.
It’s a fucking travesty. Trucks are so ugly and useless now. the maverick is not immune to this. (maverick below)
what good is having a fucking truck if it can’t even hold two REGULAR ASS BIKES in the bed. & when the bed is empty the chassis is unbalanced in a way that leads to more accidents etc. (tbf that was true in the 70s/80s too but im feeling more hateful towards modern trucks rn). In short—the modern American pickup truck is no longer useful, it’s a way to virtue signal to other Americans that you *think * you know what hard labor is, even when you’re driving around in a glorified odyssey with a teeny tiny bed that can barely hold a couple bags of mulch for the back garden
ice & mav don’t even have any little kids anymore, i think they’d consider a backseat useless & a waste of space
SO i would like to offer you a Compromise, which is that ice & mav buy either (or both) a 1974 ford maverick AND/OR a 1990 ford maverick
for the Funny Name & coolness factor (& the “making Bradley vom cause of how cute his parents are” factor), and then soup up, like, a 1984 Chevy C10 for actual towing/hauling purposes.

“entrapta joined the horde so she deserved—”
no. no one deserves to be dehumanized. no one deserves to be put on a leash and dragged around. no one deserves to be mistreated just because they happen to function differently from people around them.
i bet y'all wouldn't be saying the same thing if catra was the one treated this way.

free advice for anyone thinking about adapting the last airbender in any medium at any point in the future: if your vision does not feature the sky as a whole character in and of itself, you have failed right out of the gate - not only as an adaptation, but in Getting The Point, and the scope and the scale of the tragedy (and the hope) that drives this story, and its main character
